I created a GFM for a dental emergency. 🦷🚨
I have a bit of a predicament, guys. Spanning the past two years — and I cannot take it anymore.
I never ask for help like this, but this is getting more serious than I can handle anymore on my own. If you have the time to check this out, **even if all you can do is share this post to get it around on Tumblr, I'd appreciate that. Please and thank you!

All of my molars are still hurting everytime I eat/chew. I also think I forgot to take my Cymbalta last night, so that sucks. I completely forgot. I haven't felt any withdrawals yet, so hopefully the half life of it will stay until my next dosage.
Still looking for any comments on if anyone else has experienced tooth pain while being on Cymbalta, and if so, if it disappeared eventually. (I'm very worried it's rapid tooth decay, but I've been on the medication for less than 2 weeks, it would be setting in extremely quickly if it were the case).
I genuinely don't think I've been clenching my jaw because I have no jaw discomfort or pain at all, just the tooth pain.

put diclofenac ointment on my gums bc they hurt (deposits form every few months and my gums are already retracted so. orofacial issues go brr)/it hasn't helped much but. ugh yeah my teeth r probably 'body horror' to some bc of how retracted the gums are...
#cw medical#dental pain#dental issues#also. I think the main reason for deposits is the permanent retainer I have.#Also ironically its the only thing keeping those teeth in position seeing as how I lost so much of my gums#it may have been .. neglect even that the bodys parents kept saying I couldnt go to the dentist bc exams and b4 that covid#I JUST went in for a cleaning 3 months ago ugh.#Also having teeth issues has made it necessary for me to rinse my mouth every time I eat something#But I STILL have horrible gums that hurt

Teeth issues rant
[looks at $500 solid hard dental guard and finds MASSIVE CHOMP in part where no chomp should be. Also it’s like... some hard resin thing but I have cracked it from pressure before]
OH SO THAT’S WHY THE INCREDIBLE TOOTH PAIN TODAY
Jesus fucking fucking fuck WHY does my subconscious have to clench my jaw so fucking hard in my sleep??? HOW STOP???? ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH
anyway, I have like three proper holes in one back molar two of which I’m sure are from a filling that’s straight up gone missing. I do brush my teeth twice a day and don’t have all that much sugar, but I’ve kind of inherited weak as fuck enamel from my mum and it’s REALLY. REALLY. ANNOYING. My teeth aren’t as bad as my sister’s tho which quite literally just dissolve on her. UGH
#dental pain#I have a dentist booked for next month earliest I could get around here#ugh. I hope I don't hurt tonight. I don't want to have to make it an emergency appoinment#rant#text tag

I was in pain, so I decided a lie-down was in order. Opened my eyes and saw a mound in front of my face. Pause, then the brain reboots, because it's a DOG'S SNOUT IN FRONT OF ME!
Did the reasonable thing and jumped up, shrieking, "OH SHIT!"
It was my pants.
I screamed because of a mound of pants.

Why does toothache occur and what causes it?
Dental pain can occur for a variety of reasons, and the causes of dental pain can vary depending on the individual. Some common causes of dental pain include:
Tooth decay: When bacteria in the mouth produce acids that erode the enamel of the tooth, it can lead to a cavity or tooth decay, which can cause dental pain.
Gum disease: Gingivitis and periodontitis are two common types of gum disease that can cause inflammation and pain in the gums.
Tooth fracture: A fracture in the tooth can expose the sensitive inner layers of the tooth, leading to pain and sensitivity.
Grinding teeth: Teeth grinding or clenching can lead to tooth sensitivity and pain.
It’s important to see an emergency dentist if you experience dental pain so that they can diagnose the underlying cause and provide appropriate treatment.

Why Do People Need Emergency Wisdom Tooth Removal?
Wisdom tooth removal is a common dental procedure, often necessary for many individuals. Understanding the reasons behind this need can help demystify the process and emphasize its importance. An Emergency Dentist can assist with wisdom tooth removal in urgent situations, ensuring the patient's health and comfort.
What Are Wisdom Teeth?
Wisdom teeth, or third molars, usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25. For many people, there simply isn't enough space in the mouth for these extra teeth to grow properly. This lack of space can lead to various dental issues, making removal necessary.
Common Reasons for Emergency Wisdom Tooth Removal
1. Impaction
One of the primary reasons people require emergency wisdom tooth removal is impaction. When wisdom teeth become impacted, they cannot fully emerge from the gums. This can lead to pain, swelling, and infection. An Emergency Dentist Alpharetta can evaluate the situation and determine if immediate removal is necessary to alleviate these symptoms.
2. Infection
If a wisdom tooth partially erupts, it can create a pocket of tissue that traps food particles and bacteria. This can result in pericoronitis, a painful infection that requires immediate treatment. In such cases, removing the wisdom tooth becomes essential to prevent the infection from spreading and causing further complications.
3. Crowding
As wisdom teeth push through the gums, they can create pressure on surrounding teeth. This can lead to misalignment and overcrowding, which may cause discomfort and affect oral health. An dentist can assess the dental structure and recommend wisdom tooth removal to prevent long-term issues.
4. Cysts and Tumors
In rare cases, cysts or tumors may develop around impacted wisdom teeth. These growths can damage the surrounding teeth and bone if left untreated. If a patient experiences unusual symptoms, it is crucial to seek help from an emergency dentist who can perform the necessary evaluations and recommend prompt wisdom tooth removal.
5. Severe Pain
Severe pain in the jaw or gums can indicate an issue with wisdom teeth. Whether due to impaction, infection, or another problem, this pain often necessitates emergency removal. Addressing the pain quickly can provide relief and prevent further complications.
Signs You May Need Emergency Wisdom Tooth Removal
1. Swelling and Redness
If you notice swelling or redness around your gums, it could indicate that your wisdom teeth are causing problems. These symptoms often require urgent evaluation by an dentist .
2. Difficulty Opening Your Mouth
Struggling to open your mouth fully may suggest that your wisdom teeth are impacted. This can lead to discomfort and may necessitate emergency removal.
3. Persistent Bad Breath or Unpleasant Taste
If you experience persistent bad breath or an unpleasant taste in your mouth, it may indicate an infection related to your wisdom teeth. This situation requires prompt attention to avoid further complications.
4. Pain in the Jaw or Gums
Any ongoing pain in the jaw or gums should not be ignored. If the discomfort is severe or persistent, it is essential to seek the help of an dentist .
What to Expect During Wisdom Tooth Removal
When visiting an emergency dental professional for wisdom tooth removal, here's what you can expect:
1. Evaluation and Diagnosis
The dentist will conduct a thorough evaluation, including X-rays, to assess the condition of your wisdom teeth. This diagnosis will help determine the best course of action.
2. Anesthesia
To ensure your comfort during the procedure, the dentist will administer local anesthesia or sedation. This will minimize pain and anxiety, allowing you to relax.
3. Extraction Procedure
The dentist will carefully remove the wisdom tooth or teeth. Depending on the complexity of the case, this may involve cutting into the gum tissue or bone.
4. Post-Operative Care
After the procedure, the dentist will provide instructions for recovery, including pain management, oral hygiene, and dietary recommendations. Following these guidelines is crucial for a smooth recovery.
Understanding the need for emergency wisdom tooth removal is crucial for maintaining oral health. If you experience any symptoms related to your wisdom teeth, don't hesitate to contact an Emergency Dentist Alpharetta. By addressing potential issues early, you can prevent pain, infection, and complications, ensuring your smile remains healthy and vibrant. Remember, timely intervention is key when it comes to dental emergencies!
