After a moment of panic from her as she whips her head towards Callen, she and Deeks share a look (he's still all smiles somehow) and decide now's the time to tell them - they're having a baby.

Secret Files

“I hate paperwork days,” Kensi sighed, leaning her hand on her fist.

“It would be more fun if you took my suggestion,” Deeks said, closing a file and tossing it onto a thick stack on the side of his desk. Kensi made a face.

“I am not competing against you.”

“Is that because you lost last time?” Callen asked, without looking up from his own paperwork. He’d been silent for the last half hour, but apparently the potential for mischief roused him.

“Last time was not fair!” Kensi insisted immediately. “Jabbing a finger in Deeks’ direction. “He cheated.”

Sighing heavily, Sam asked,

“How is it possible to cheat on paperwork?”

“He stole from my pile.”

“I did not,” Deeks protested, feigning offense. “As a former lawyer and current NCIS Investigator, I am bound to protect the citizens of this country’s, uphold the law, and never, ever, steal paperwork from my side and partner.”

“Um, am I interrupting,” Fatima asked, hovering in the doorway and cutting off Kensi’s latest argument.

“No,” Sam answered quickly. “Please interrupt.”

“Ok.” Fatima raised an eyebrow, but wise enough by now not to ask more questions. “So I was cleaning up our online files and found some old video footage. How long are we supposed to keep video and audio files?”

“Huh, that’s a good question,” Callen said. “What are they videos of?”

Normally, Deeks didn’t think Callen would be terribly interested in Fatima’s video storage problems, but any distraction was welcome right now.

“Oh, I didn’t open them yet. Let me pull them up,” Fatima said, turning to the big screen. The folder she opened had several dozen individual media files and Fatima selected one dated October 2014.

For the first few seconds, the video showed the empty gym, focused on the center of the room..

“Well, this is fascination, but-” Fatima shushed Callen as Kensi and Deeks came into the picture, mid-conversation.

“Deeks, why would I want to go to your police man’s ball?” On-screen Kensi asked, unrolling a yoga mat on the floor. She wore a cropped pair of leggings and strappy sports bra.

In the bullpen, Deeks turned to Kensi, raising his eyebrows in a “what the hell” expression. She shook her head, looking mildly horrified as the 6-years-younger versions of themselves blatantly flirted.

“Uh, because I’ll be wearing a suit and look extremely sexy,” Deeks suggested on-screen. “Plus, there will be drinks.”

“That sounds suspiciously like a date.” She didn’t sound particularly upset by the idea.

“What if it was?” Deeks grinned, an hand on one hip as he watched Kensi.

“Mm, I’d need better inducement,” she said, standing suddenly and invading his space. He didn’t shift back, but one hand twitched like he had to stop himself from touching her.

“You’ll be saving me from being pawed by rich, elderly women?” he suggested. Kensi reached out fiddled and smoothed out a wrinkle in his shirt.

“Well, we can’t have you being pawed,” she decided, fingers lingering for a few seconds too long. “Make sure you wear a blue shirt and black suit.”

The video cut off abruptly as Kensi got to her knees on the yoga mat.

“So…” Fatima said into the ensuing silence. Her hands were clasped in front of her, expression one of embarrassment mixed with curiosity. “That was interesting.”

“Not really,” Sam disagreed with a sigh. “They’ve been doing that for years.”

“Actually, it used to be significantly worse before they got together,” Callen added.

“This was before you started dating?” Fatima asked.

“Yes,” Kensi replied defensively. “And we were not that bad. This was taken way out of context.”

“Exactly,” Deeks agreed. “And doesn’t anybody find it creepy that Nell saved a bunch of freaking videos of us? What’s up with that?”

“I’m more interested in what happened after the video ended.” Turning back to the screen, Fatima hovered over another file. “I wonder if it’s in here.”

“Fatima, please don’t,” Kensi begged, as a audio file started this time, Deeks’ voice filling the room as he whispered a series of highly inappropriate things to Kensi.

“And, I have no explanation for that,” Deeks said, sucking in a breath and a grimace. A very un-Kensi like giggle played from the overhead screen.

Sighing, she pressed her face into Deeks’ shoulder and muttered,

“I may have to shoot Nell.”

Yes! Feedback from readers is so important, so I do my best to reply to all meaningful, encouraging feedback. It shows both my appreciation, but also starts nice, interesting conversations sometimes. :)

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I think that would definitely be a Bellarke fic, I have been known to be mean in that fandom... 😛 I’d say, if we go with angstiest ending, I’ll have to pick I came here to get some peace. I have another story that’s far angstier as a whole, but the ending was more hopeful.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Mmh, I think I’ll go with Rosvolio on that one, and the series starting with no remedy for love and ending with for love is such a daily good thing. The sequel, epilogue of sorts, was almost as long as the original fic itself, and it was all about giving these two the agency they deserve in their finding each other and growing into love.

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I did once, but never completed the fic. It was a Dark Matter/The 100 crossover. Though was it really one? I don’t think so. I used the main characters from the 100 in the context of Dark Matter? Anyway. As evidenced by the fact that I never did finish the thing past the first chapter - no, I don’t write crossovers.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Are there really writers who don’t? Bless your hearts. I’ve been active in writing for various fandoms since 2011 and I’ve had the usual cocktail of anon hate, death threats, insults, etc.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Yep. Sex is a conversation, and writing dialogue is one of my favorite things, and they’re basically the same. Sex is a form of communication like any other - be it awkward, passionate, peaceful and quiet, a routine, a habit, a bad habit you can’t kick, sorta meh, or bad. So I guess I write all kinds of smut? Smut with feels is obviously a favorite, but it’s nice to write smut that is just about two people who can’t be apart from each other, passionate and hungry for one another.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yup - and not subtly at all. But at the time ffnet did nothing about it, and neither did the fandom. Even though people knew that this person had stolen my story and only changed the characters’ names to fit another ship, people still read it and commented it. Insert #lesigh.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. I was asked, once, but I said no. This just feels weird to me.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope. My head and my writing process are messy enough as they are, they don’t need the intrusion.

What’s your all time favorite ship?

It’s like asking someone to pick a favorite child. Which everyone could do, really, we all know it. Still, it’s not proper to ask. But I’ll go with my childhood and ultimate otp, Piper and Leo from Charmed. They taught me what love was.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Mmmh, I don’t think I have one atm? I gave up on some wips back when I was writing for The 100, but I know I’ll never pick them up. My only current wip is for Kevison, and I do intend to see this through.

What are your writing strengths?

Clearly my style? I’ve been told it’s kinda poetic, and I do like my prose and my flow - a stream of consciousness, a line that’ll go straight to your heart, long sentences of uninterrupted thoughts, a window into the character’s soul. I also have a very good grasp on the characters I choose to write about - I only write when I feel like I know them like the back of my hand, so characterization and being true to who they are is my number one priority.

What are your writing weaknesses?

I have no discipline. I’ll write for days on end, get one, two, three chapters ready...and sometimes a month passes by and I have nothing, my brain is completely empty, and I feel all squeezed out. I could never wait until I’ve completed a work before posting it, for instance - and I mean, I’ve been working on my Kevison fic for 17 months now, so, in a way, lucky thing I didn’t wait, right?

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

If it fits the character and the context, why not.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter! It was a lifetime ago, I was 12 and I wrote what I expected the fifth book to be before it came out. Needless to say, it was bad.

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Once again, asking someone to pick a favorite child isn’t proper. I have a sort of very unique love for something always brings me back to you, one of my rebelcaptain fics. First of all, it’s the only work who’s ever gotten a fan edit made about (thanks again to the lovely person who did!). I also think the writing is solid, the dialogue and the chemistry between Jyn and Cassian on point. And I loved working on that AU of their first meeting(s) through the galaxy.

Having only discovered NCIS: LA last summer, I still have a LOT to watch. But I have watched a lot of Densi scenes on youtube ;) So I was wondering if you could help me out with 5x10, when Deeks asks Kensi to burn the shirt. I need a little context lol thanks

So in 5x09 (Recovery), Deeks asks Kensi to go out and have dinner. Kensi thinking it’s their usual casual taco eating gets thrown for a whirlwind when they end up at a fancy restaurant. She gets mad because he basically asked her out on a date without asking her out on a date. He tells her he wants to be at his place with her....they do the deed. Apparently she doesn’t have time to go home the next morning to change and has to wear the same shirt as she wore to work the day before. She tells him later on that she wants him but can have him because something bad will happen. The rest of the day is shit until he has to go undercover blind and Kensi starts to realize that they can work it out. So that’s why he wants her to burn the shirt, basically so they can start “fresh”. At least that’s what I got out of it!

I agree that I’m half okay with it and half not cause they’ve both been avoiding this kind of a talk I just wish it didn’t end with them two crying and her walking away choosing her job over him. And I hope it’s not one of those at the end of the second episode find out more next season kind of thing cause I’ll be truly upset. I want them all to be okay with that explosion too

I’m... I’m waiting till i’ve seen the whole episode to get into the mechanics of the actual scenes, because, if they’re sticking it in promotional material then it’s guaranteed that it’s not the most important or the most pivotal densi moment of the episode on a whole and i cba to write out a meta on it only for it to be proven null in like, 2 minutes. 

But like, If they showed us this, there will be more content that is more significant to the plot and the ship, and what we did see may not be what we think we’re watching to the point where context will entirely change our view of it.

So mostly, i don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion that the worst case scenario they teased is gonna happen but like??? idk, i was already 50/50 on them getting married in the finale and i.. Still am??? that hasn’t changed the odds for me?  I still think it’s a toss of a coin as to if they will or not even after watching that. If this happened in the promo for episode 24 i’d be sure we’re gonna have a hiatus of angst, but it didn’t and a 2 hour block is enough for this to be resolved. 

If they’ve learnt from their past they will communicate better and work it out quickly and compromise, which i feel like would be a better thematic choice before they get married. Them learning from their mistakes and sorting this out efficiently instead of waffling around for months will show interpersonal growth, but honestly, i’m not willing to put money on the writers not going to the Drama. But, if they do go for drama, they still will work it out. 

i’m not willing to freak out yet. I only let myself freak out over promos if people i want to kiss are kissing or like... crawling out of bed together. I refuse to be baited cbs!!!! refuse!!!!! bite me cbs!!!!

As a response to posts that say that Happy “punching” Toby (to say “shut up” in 3x08) was a display of violent behaviour that has no excuse and suggesting Happy/Scorpion writers to learn from Densi/NCISLA writers... how a loving relationship and a girlfriend/fiancee treating their partner should be like. I don’t disagree with the flaws the fans point out, but I disagree with saying Kensi/Densi is a great example...cause that show has no such “horrible” scenes... (use a different example as a “goal”... not this one, please. Cause these shows/ships/characters have the same flaws. The older show has just had more time to smoothen the mistakes and make things better)
