Desert Moon Dennis DeYoung Released 1984 This is the debut solo album release from former Styx member Dennis DeYoung.  I owned this cassette version when it was released back in 84 but never really played it except for the song "Desert Moon".  After listening to it in its entirety, I see why.  Only a few exceptions of songs I liked.  The song Fire, which is the Jimi Hendrix classic, is 'different', undecided if I like it or not.  Desert Moon is still a great song, which is why I picked up this album a few years ago.   Side One Don't Wait For Heroes - 8/10 Please - 4/10 Boys Will Be Boys - 4/10 Fire - 8/10 Would Jimi Hendrix approve? ‘Kilroy Was Here’ is the 11th studio album, and, a rock opera, by Styx, released on Feb. 22, 1983. The album is named after a famous WW II graffiti tag, 'Kilroy was here'. It was the final album of original material to be released by the "classic" lineup of #dennisdeyoung #tommyshaw #jamesjyyoung #johnpanozzo and #chuckpanozzo The album spawned two hit singles, the synth-pop "Mr. Roboto" which later became one of their signature songs, and the power ballad "Don't Let It End". Both of them were major hits in 1983, peaking at #3 and #6 respectively. A gatefold album on A&M Records - SP 3734. The album is certified platinum by the RIAA.
