He gave a little huff at her words, as if such a fate could never happen to him. He was the King of the Mountain! There was no way he would ever suffer a defeat so great that he lost a limb in battle!!

Or so he liked to believe, as his opposite hand idly reached for his shoulder. He remembered just it time that he shouldn't touch to patched-up wound, lest he wanted to incur Shinobu's immediate wrath. He had done such a great job at avoiding it so far.

"I won't lose my arm. If a battle gets that tough, I'll just... I'll try again after I become stronger." A roundabout way to say he would retreat, a possibility that wouldn't have brushed his mind some months ago.

He leapt from his stool and headed towards the door, revigorated by the prospect of a good meal.

"Let's get going! I wanna eat the fried things when they're fresh!" He requested, ready to march down the corridors and demand to be fed. He would take the lead in the dining room's direction, only for his strides to become more and more hesitant as they got a little closer.

The estate was crowded. Cold temperatures brought sicknesses and easier injuries, the demonw prowling in the longer nights. The dining room was already bustling with the many residents, and Inosuke found his excitement dying out. He was no big fan of the crowds.

The one most oblivious to these little changes had to be Inosuke himself. He was doing little conscious effort to fit in, always so unapologetically himself no matter what others might think. Little by little, much unknown to him, the human crowd was taming him.

And perhaps Shinobu was the one making the quickest progress.

There was something about her that compelled Inosuke into listening to her orders, without too much of a protest. Anyone would have earned great complaints, probably a punch to the face, maybe even a bite. With Shinobu, though, Inosuke found himself complying without too much of a struggle.

He would ask her eventually. Even if it was a silly question, even if he already knew the answer.

"I don't wanna lose my limbs!" He protested, as if stating it out loud would prevent such a fate from meeting him. He gave another roll of his shoulder, to prove that his arm wasn't about to fall out. "It's not gonna feel bad! Because you did a good job at fixing it!"

A rare compliment from someone who never admitted that others could be more skilled than he was. Healing was Shinobu's domain of expertise, and the respect he had for her was slowly extending to the rest of her crew.

A glance out the window, to the frozen scenery of the mansion's gardens. Inosuke wanted nothing more but to head outside and feel the cold wind it run across his skin, but he'd come to realize that humans didn't like the cold too much.

"... it sounds nice, but I don't want you to get sick." As if to prove that he wasn't concerned for her out of some nice sentiment, he thought necessary to keep speaking. "The blue nurse would get pissed at me."

Drew a demon wing. This is what I imagine they would look like if @therealjacksepticeye had demon wings. The feathers go from a black, to a dark blue and finally septic green. Pretty happy with how it came out.
