The Forgotten-5
Pairing: Lucifer x Butterfly!fem!reader
Fandom: Hazbin Hotel x Star vs the forces of evil
Warnings: Takes place before Hazbin Hotel, Alternative Universe
Navigation |six
You and Eclipsa were currently huddled up together as you listen to your mother's storytelling.
"Monsters are vicious and vile creatures, it's not something you want to be messing with my little ones. They eat our kind,Mewmans" your mother spoke with a serious tone.
"mother but what if some monsters aren't bad ?"Eclipsa voiced out and you look at her with a curious look.
What if...
"believe me little ones, I've been in the Battle field against monsters long enough to know they aren't good."
"let's also not forget...Demons... They reside in underworld. They are wretched, they live for pure darkness and pure evil.If you wondered if they can be good, sorry to disappoint you little ones, they can't be redeemed "
After that night you were terrified to the core, about Monsters and Demons. You didn't want meet any of those creatures again after that.
But Eclipsa being Eclipsa, she tried reassure you that there's nothing to be afraid of... with that you grew up contemplating what to believe...You asked a lot of the people about their perspective about the monster but you left with more negativity about them.
It only got worse when...
You were happily waiting for your mother near the Palace Gates with your sister and Father...
"I'm thrilled that mother is finally going home!"You shook your sister and she almost stumbled forward.
"n/n let go of poor Eclipse, she looks like she about her balance"Your Father scolded you and you just gave a nervous laugh.
"but Father I'm just soooo excited!i haven't seen mother in months or is it almost a year?"
Your father just chuckled at your antics,as for Eclipsa she was also happy her mother coming back after the battle, even though they don't have the same vision the still loved her dearly.
You watched as the Knights who's with your Mother during the battle came back... however you noticed someone was missing...
Where's mother?
Mina Loveberry has a grim expression on her face as she bowed infront of you...
You had bad feeling, you don't wanna assume the worst, you knew your mother was the bestest Warrior out there.
"I'm sorry your highnesses..."
No...
"Queen Solaria was unfortunately killed during the battle..."
Eclipsa gasped and your father remained silent...
"no...your lying!"everyone looked at you.
"she promised she'll come back!she promised! please! I beg you! Tell me it's a joke"Mina was disappointed in herself that she couldn't save her Queen and even telling the royal family in adding salt to the wound.
"I'm sorry..." It was all she said until you felt tears fall down from your eyes, you ran as fast as you can and didn't even looked back.
You were currently in your bed , currently staring at the wall, you haven't gone out of your room in days.
Since finding out Lucifer is a Demon you haven't gone out the Palace since. No point of going out now.
You only go out if you had to eat and have magic lessons bur Glossaryck stopped giving lessons because he said:
"you look like you some time to yourself and i also do want to blast with magic spells...."
You been accidentally hitting him because you were to out of focus, the reveal dug up some memories...
Keekee walked up to the side of the bed you were currently facing, she has the portal scissors on her mouth. Keekee knew what you were truly feeling...
"i don't want to see him Keekee...never..."you rolled to the other side and tried to ignore her.
She went infront of you again trying to convince you.
"KeeKee i said NO!!" You stood up and you yelled at her , Keekee's Ears flattened.
You noticed this and instantly felt guilty.... you never shout at Keekee, she only wanted to help...
"I'm sorry..."you flopped back to your bed and pulled the covers over your whole body.
You didn't noticed that the Plants in your room withered at your outburst.
It was the next day ,you were going to eat breakfast with your sister and her husband Shastacan.
great…
He was a selfish man,and a narcissistic idiot...
Once you reached the dinning area, you saw Eclipsa with a weak smile while Shastacan has huge grin
You raised a brow and Eclipsa just waved nervously.
"what's got happy this morning?"you asked as you sat down and your started to eat your breakfast.
"well... it appears we were blessed by the gods above"you looked confused at Shastacan as you drank your drink.
"Eclipsa has been experiencing morning sickness and appears there's will be heir born" with that you spar your drink.
"ECLIPSA'S PREGNANT?!?"

Septarian Speculative Biology Headcanons
Tumblr media
Note that though this concentrates on septarians, there are plenty of monsters this describes too, because septarians are related to most of them. They are most closely related to Kappas and Tecoixin, but there are plenty of branches in the tree of life of Cítalaoléy.
Septarians are overall more barrel-chested than Mewmans, to accommodate larger, birdlike lungs. The lungs have more surface area than a human's, but because their blood isn't as good at carrying oxygen, their respiratory rate is about the same.
Septarians have two hearts, both attached to their substantial sternum. Their sternum is so thick and long it could almost be considered a second spine. (It starts in their neck and is incredibly flexible, and also acts as a hub for red blood cell production and the immune/lymphatic system.) The upper heart is called the body-heart and receives blood from the body and sends it to the lungs. In monster culture, this heart usually (not always! Some cultures represent it differently) represents bodily desires and "gut" feelings or intuition. The lower heart, the soul-heart, receives blood from the lungs and sends it to the body. In culture, it usually represents reason, knowledge, and logic. This is because there is a slight delay in the top heart during exercise or strong emotions, and the lower heart has to "catch up" to pump blood back to the body.
Monster digestive systems vary, but septarian digestive systems are very short and tucked into the back. They are carnivores, and as such don't need a long digestive system like omnivores or herbivores. The digestive system is closer to the back than it is in humans. Their kidney-analogues are round and are embedded among the lungs.
Septarian's chests are different to humans. The "breasts" are diagonal, and much smaller. They are a bit more agile than humans.
Septarians are almost tripedal – their tails are used for balance and coordination. They rely on their tails for stability while walking. It's not true tripedality, as they still don't technically "walk" on their tails – they just balance. They are extremely bewildered by animals that walk without their tails – such as humans or frogs – because how do they balance? How do they not topple over constantly? How do they walk downhill if they don't have a tail to stop them from falling backwards and sliding down? What the heck is going on with them?
The sensory system is next. Their long snouts aren't for smelling – their sense of smell is no better than a human, in fact. It's for sensing ambient magic. Demons use their eyes, but they are almost completely different trees of life from septarians and most surface monsters. Before demons learned rock and soil magic and made contact with the surface, the two clades had very little in common. But septarians sense magic like a snake uses heat sensing. The wand coming to Mewni means that that sense is difficult to use now, since everything smells extremely hot all the time, but before the wand, they were adept at judging the strength of opponents and potential spots to gain magic by using this sense. Toffee came up with a dampening spell that would allow them to still use their magic sense, but not everyone knows it or even knows how to use magic, so most of the septarian population, especially those outside the mountains, is disabled.
Their jaw muscles are very strong, as befitting a large carnivore, and their arms are also very strong. Their hunting strategy is primarily to grasp and injure with their clawed arms and then deliver a killing bite. Even if they don't kill, their venom compels their prey to itch their wound, keeping it open and allowing the septarian to find and catch them again – or for the next septarian they encounter to take the prey down.  This doesn't work very well on sapient creatures that know their tricks, as there are plenty of plants and tactics to counteract their venom, but it does work on species not covered by the Sapient Rights Accord, who the septarians are allowed to hunt. Septarians are not considered true persistence predators, as they lack a method of cooling down quickly – they cannot sweat, and their panting isn't very effective due to less of saliva. Instead they ally with the sweating sizeshifters. The sizeshifters lead the prey into a septarian's ambush, and they work together to take them down. And of course they work in groups, as befitting a social species. This dynamic changed dramatically since the conflict with the Mewmans started and Sílthéy blessed as many monsters as possible with superpowers. Now the sizeshifters are better ambush hunters with their size-shifting, and the septarians are better persistence hunters with their ability to heal from things like overheating. They've kind of met in the middle.
Their large jaw muscles mean there isn't as much room for a brain as there is in animals like humans, and thus their brains are smaller. Mewmans could make fun of this if Mewmans knew an iota of biology, but they don't, so they don't. But septarians have magic on their side, as Cítalaoléy has had magic for as long as the planet has existed. And Magic likes people to be able to comprehend it, so a lot of creatures on Cítalaoléy that otherwise wouldn't have been sapient are.
Then there's sex and reproduction. That's really complicated, as any human might guess. Septarian sexes are temperature-dependent (or used to be!). Septarian eggs incubated at 28-30 degrees Celsius are usually male, while temperatures above that are usually female. Eggs incubated below that are intersex, or "null" gendered, with undeveloped sexual traits. They are typically weaker, but with modern medicine they're very likely to survive. The septarian depicted at the top of this post is null gendered, and it's considered the "average" by most groups.
From there, reproduction is very different than in humans. Once adults, females are expected to leave the nest and join another group or colony. Pregnancy and egg laying is very, very difficult for egg-laying females, even more than the notoriously difficult humans, because septarian females shed their entire uterus-analog and some specialized fat stores along with around 10-20 eggs. The uterus uses the fat stores to generate heat to keep the eggs warm during incubation. Non-septarian ancestor females would usually die after that, but with the advent of sapience, it became advantageous for the females to survive egg-laying and raise their children and grandchildren once they recovered. After all, no one wanted their children to die in egg-laying, and social bonds were very important to septarians.
But while the female sexed were recovering from shedding an entire organ, who was to defend the nest and the recovering egg-layers? Well, here the males are divided into two sub-sexes, the "true" males, who mate with the females and defend them afterwards, and the nest-carers, who defend the nest. The nest-carers are the ones who care for the hatched young, and are actually the ones who produce milk, from glands on their neck. Their necks are thicker to accommodate this, since they're feeding a lot of kids at once. Typically a lot of the children die, but with the advent of modern medicine, more and more are living.
Yes baby septarians are tiny. Yes they're adorable. Here is a picture of Toffee as a baby:
Tumblr media
they have feathers.
So... what happened in Toffee and Necahua's case? Both Chia and Tecoloa had kids, so why aren't there a million Toffee siblings running around? Well, it's Cayeto's fault, and bad luck. Cayeto was part demon, and those guys have a more large mammal-like reproductive system, including having fewer kids at a time. He also apparently has really shit genetics. So both Chia and Tecoloa had around five eggs each, some of which didn't hatch, and some of which hatched but failed to thrive, which is normal in septarian hatchings, and why the ones that do hatch are all the more precious. In the end, Toffee and Necahua were the only ones in each of their hatchings to survive childhood. Necahua was old enough to remember Toffee's hatching, and remembers a lot of stress as their parents tried to save what hatchlings they could.
While it is best for parents in their situation to adopt, to ensure their kids had the right social development, there aren't many parents in Septarsis who would give up their kids. Because of the nature of septarian pregnancy, one of Sílthéy's first spells upon showing up in Cítalaoléy was to give septarian parent(s) the option to terminate any pregnancy before egg sacs were laid. And education on pregnancy and egg-laying was widely available, which resulted in very few adoptable children, none of whom were the right age. And considering Tecoloa was a schoolteacher, it was expected that she be able to account for her kids' abnormal development. As a result of this, Necahua and Toffee were extremely close.
Yes, septarian pregnancy is hell. But have you considered:
Tumblr media
But there's one more big, important question: what is gender like in septarian society? Well, there are four sexes. Clearly. Male, female, nest carer, and null. And it turns out it's really easy to cast sex change spells on nulls. So most eggs are incubated as nulls, and when they reach ten(Cítalaoléan years)/fourteen-ish (Earthen years), they become the gender they want to be and (at least in the culture Toffee is part of) pick a permanent name. This doesn't mean there aren't some issues with gender, as some septarians don't think that one can be a gender that doesn't already exist, or think that there's already enough to chose from, why do you need more? Sílthéy tries to make young genderweird septarians feel respected, but there's only so much she can do. Gendered words exist in the Septarian language, but it's considered very formal and old-fashioned to use them, as most words can function without indicators of gender.
Toffee is a null, and never picked another gender, or got a name, as in their specific culture names are traditionally suggested by parents and other family members. Their entire family is dead.
Huh, that would be a really downer place to end this, right? Uh... let's talk affection. Septarians have long snouts, which makes kissing awkward. But they can express love by... snuggling.
Toffee's ethnic group, the Teco-Aikziki'ni, shows affection in different ways depending on who they're being affectionate to. This varies by ethnic group across the continent, but the Teco-Aikziki'ni are fairly typical for how they express these things.
Tumblr media
(1) Family members will place one head on top of the other
(2) Casual friends or acquaintances will place their heads on each other's shoulders, side-to-side
(3) Romantic partners in public and committed platonic relationships will touch foreheads
(4) Sexual partners will touch throats. It's considered a bit rude to do it in public, like two people making out

Sky And The Forces Of The Multiverse, Chapter 38
Previous / Next
Mason was the perfect person to handle this.
He was a prince, so he could move around the castle, though he was under supervision.
He knew fae, he knew his grandfather who was questioning fae.
No danger, nothing too suspicious, it was more then perfect.
All judas had asked mason to do, was keep an eye on the situation and make sure fae split nothing dave couldn't know right now, and ask for the jar back so they had it in their hands for certain. With the potion back they could question everyone in the group for any foul play involved and check out every suspect on their list. To be fair, it's highly likely his grandpa would just return the jar to eclipsa, who might let them have it back.
But knowing his grandpa...he might also keep it, so better safe then sorry.
Truth potions didn't always help, but better in their hands then having it used and getting them exposed because of their own truth potion.
Mason skipped along the corridors to where his grandpa wanted to speak to fae, though actually, his grandpa knew he was coming. Mason having messaged him after judas texted him about the situation, and their grandpa loved their grandsons too much to really refuse them too much. Mason knew the girl he was speaking to and well, honestly after what landon said about fae the day before maybe he should have some help.
He'd worked with demons for so long, getting used to their habits and powers, making him quite remarkable as the first non-demon to truly rule the underworld.
But even he could still use help sometimes.
The mewman lit up at the sight of his grandson who approached him, giving the boy a big hug while minding his wings, "There's my little bat...oh hey...what'cha got there?". He unhanded mason and took a closer look at one of his hands, in which mason had a bag of seeds, "I wanted to give this to fae...so we could plant flowers together. Well, I guess I can't plant anything...but..".
But his grandfather gave him a hopeful smile, "Well, since you're helping me out, maybe your folks will lighten up a little more with those restrictions...ok?".
And mason's brown eyes seemed to practically sparkle, "Really?'
"Really.".
Mason flapped his wings as his grandfather faced the door, "So your friend's inside, she's young so we have to be gentle with her, we'll start with basic questions on the matter. Your grandmother is actually out to meet with her family for herself, so while she's out we're here to ask her questions and see if we can find out any more information...no more masked freaks are sneaking into my castle.".
"I don't think she's lying...", mason mumbled, his grandfather reassuring him.
'It's not that i think she's lying...but you never know if she hasn't said the whole truth or if maybe she has forgotten something..."., he patted mason's small head, "It's going to be just fine mason, for now let's just talk to her.".
"Ok."
Time to get to work.
"It's good getting to teach you kids, now you just keep an eye on your grandpa over here ok? I want you to watch my back", Mason saluted playfully back to his grandfather, dave nodding to the guards and opening the door. The room itself was small, not much except for a table, with chairs on either side. Considering they were speaking to a little girl they left her some juice and some cookies to eat while she was waiting.
Though mason did notice as they entered there was a little evidence of a few of fae's bad luck energy presence, scraps of what had probably been her previous chair around the room as she now sat in a more fire proof chair. Though his grandpa didn't seem to mind, his own family probably set more things on fire on a regular basis then an arsonist did in their lifetime, even by accident.
"Hope we didn't leave you waiting long young lady", The former king apologized as he took a seat in front of the girl, mason taking the seat next to him. "I hope you're comfortable, I don't want to make you nervous...I just want to ask you some more questions on the situation and-". Suddenly the mewman noticed the girl looked like she'd been frazzled, her hair wild and sticking out everywhere.
Before he could ask or freak out, the girl answered his question, "I had the hiccups...fire happened...". She said it so bluntly, was this supposed to be a normal occurrence for the girl? When tom was a baby he had accidents like that all the time so it probably wasn't that weird. He quickly cooled himself off, he was probably looking too deep into that considering the many other things he'd seen demons do.
"Alright young miss, so...you work in the stables right?", he fixed himself up and put on his best welcoming face. Though Fae clearly wasn't fazed or affected by it, she leaned back in her seat, munching on another cookie, "Yeah...I work in the stables to get more money for my family...It was the only job I could have here at my age...i'm too young to do anything else.".
"You been there long?".
Fae shrugged, "Not that long I guess...".
Helpful.
"So according to angel, prince angelus...he attempted to contact you through a note, you said you had accidentally burned the note, right? and you don't remember anything about what it said?", not that it mattered since they could just ask angel himself on the contents. Fae just snorted, "Yeah...pretty much, I don't know why you called me here, I've already talked about this stuff before.".
She took another bite, her one eye looking directly at the man, "You literally can just ask the guy himself what he wrote, not that it matters, he confessed he was asking for me to see him or whatever to give him help on their burglary...which apparently didn't end up happening because that one weirdo broke in without me or him. I don't know anything else really...".
"You sure?".
"What do you expect me to know? I never saw either of them in person before or after...well...knowingly of course...".
Mason looked to fae, before looking at the cookies the girl was eating.
Suddenly his face twisted in realization.
That's where the potion was.
Clever, he never would've expected it himself.
Though where the potion in the jar was, that was still a mystery.
Dave seemed to be trying to workshop what line of questioning to go too first before mason awkwardly raised his hand. "But wait...did anyone else ever well...mention anything about the break in when you were at work? I mean...any of the demons you were working with? I mean it was a big deal...one of them had to have said something about it right?".
"Well, of course they talked about it...when the robbery happened, all the castle staff was talking about it. In fact they questioned whether or not if someone snitched and we had a traitor amoungst our midst. But no one ever really found out if anyone was responsible. Though some people though it wasn't by the masked foe at all and was by just a random thief who worked here.".
"You didn't think anyone seemed suspicious?", Dave asked, piling onto his grandson's line of questioning.
"Everyone is suspicious around me...I don't really trust most anyone...but I've been out to get food sometimes and I could overhear other demons and monsters going off about the robbery too. Some going on about how sad it was...some impressed anyone managed to break into something so guarded and protected and then getting away with it...can't say they said much interesting...".
Fae's face then twisted, "But then again...I think maybe once I saw some cloaked woman eating at my regular shop, but i never saw her face, and she wasn't doing anything weird...just eating. The worst she did was anger some other demons who were chilling there but apparently she scared them off. I give her props, she must've been one scary chick.".
"How come you never mentioned her before?".
"Because I didn't see it as important, no idea who she was and had little reason to believe she was a criminal or anything...not like i saw her face. In the underworld people start fights and do stuff like that all the time, this isn't anything i'm not used to.". Dave looked to mason and they both looked to fae, what now? It could be a lead but it wasn't much of one either.
"Uh...umm...fae...could you describe her?", mason said, with his puppy eyes.
"Ugh...I dunno, black cloak that hid her face...only two eyes maybe...had magic...but monsters and mewmans can have magic so that didn't help at all. I guess because of the cloak they didn't want anyone to know who they were. I dunno, you'd have to ask the people who served her, they might of had a closer look on her face since I was further away.".
The former king was left in thought, this was a lead, but if it was a good lead was not very clear. They could track this woman down and find out it was some random demon who was just in a bad mood that day. It was clear they needed more and mason felt goosebumps, if his grandpa asked anything in relation to the rescue of nora or about the truth of the situation they were doomed.
Mason quickly but in with his own question once again, "Fae...uh...was this the only time you saw that person there? I mean I know you didn't SEE them see them, but you know what I mean". Fae shook her head, "I don't think so...I assume they were new because no one else seemed to recognize them, but like...I never saw them any other time I went there.".
"Any other suspicious characters?".
"Down here, everyone is suspicious, but like...I go to a coffee shop, not a criminal bar".
"Have you ever -", but mason cut the man off again, his wing blocking the way.
"Have you ever seen that mask anywhere before? Doll-like? with lipstick? Do you have any idea where they might've been able to get it?", he must've seemed kinda rude to his grandfather, but he had to be careful. Though his grandpa seemed to chalk it all up to his grandson being excited more then anything, moving the wing out of his way and waiting for fae's answer.
"Well, masks like that can be found anywhere all across mewni, some are magically enchanted, it's not that weird. But because they're anywhere you can't nail it down just anywhere. I only know about them because I live on mewni and the people of mewni can be weird sometimes. But whatever, I can't really clearly explain much about that without it.", in which dave looked to mason.
"We have pieces of it...we should have those closely examined, maybe figure out what the mask is made of."
"I guess we're done then...", mason started, "Not much else we can ask about...".
"Well hold up mason, give me a few minutes.".
Mason pouted and sat on his seat, looking at his grandpa more closely, "Alright, so this seems all good and dandy but I also want to know...". Mason felt sick, what question could he ask next to stop his grandpa? Something stupid would be too obvious of him and then he'd look more silly to the adults then he felt they already saw him as being. He almost wanted to hide in his wings.
"I wanted to know if you were interested in a different job here at the castle? Something more well paid?".
Phew.
Fae didn't seem nearly as phased she was under a truth potion, that or, she was actually so much of a honest person nothing felt off about anything she was saying at all. Though she did seem surprised by the offer, "Anything would be nice...though I kinda liked working with the horses...they're friendly and I can't ruin nearly as much there then anywhere else.".
"We'll talk about it further later on them...", the king smiled, patting his grandson's back, "Hmm, i want to question further but i'm not sure what I should ask. I don't wanna let this go until i'm sure we got everything, don't wanna have to keep calling this young lady back over and over. Mason wondered what he should do next when the desk on front of them collapsed, grabbing everyone's attention but fae's.
She seemed pretty unsurprised actually by this result, the most surprisingly thing was it feel apart instead of combusting into flames.
The former king was just thankful it didn't crush any of their feet.
After quickly checking mason and fae for any injuries, he quickly left the room and called for the guards to get the table out of here and cleaned up. Leaving mason with the small bad luck demon, if only for a minute or so till his grandfather got back. He awkwardly let his legs dangle in front of him before putting his arm out to hand over the seeds to fae.
Fae quickly looked between him and the seeds, wondering if he was serious.
"This some secret message or something?", she was probably expecting judas or landon to contact her since they had kinda been for updates but mason quickly shook his head to correct the matter. "No I just wanted to give you it...Cause uh...I want us to be friends...if that's ok? I thought I could give you a gift, so...here's some flowers...they're actually supposed to bring good luck to whoever plants and takes care of them."
Fae actually seemed surprised, and maybe even a little touched.
"You still want to be friends with me? I kinda got the impression I might've scared you off or was too mean to you to have you want to hang out with me again".
"Yeah, of course! I want to have a fresh start, so we can hang out without any of the well...stuff this time".
Fae took the seeds, "I'll probably burn them before I get back home though...you might prefer to keep them". But the boy insisted, "Nah, i got them for you, besides, they're fireproof! Only way you'll get them killed is through neglect...if you want...you could have me help you take care of them. I'm great with plants, so yeah, then we could hang out without it being...weird.".
She actually almost seemed smile.
"That's...really nice of you actually, especially considering your grandpops truthpotioned me.".
Her words made mason suddenly freeze in place, though fae didn't seem too surprised or offended by this knowledge.
"Wait...you knew?".
"I'm not an idiot..., of course I knew, but like...I have nothing to hide...so honestly waste of his time. With my luck if i tried to lie it would've come regardless, but I'll admit, hiding it in the cookies was a good idea."Well, at the very least fae wasn't taking much offense to the whole thing, so at least that was alright. "So I guess you came here just to give me the seeds?".
"Well...yes and no.".
She raised her one eyebrow.
"My grandpa doesn't know some important stuff you can't tell him about...ok?".
"Is that was this is about?", she huffed, "Well, geez...I didn't know you didn't tell him all this stuff, always guessed you lucitors were a lot closer and told each other everything." Mason tapped his fingers together, "It's uh...more complicated, I mean, mom and dad will probably tell him soon but y'know like...just not right now?". Fae gave him a smirk, shaking her head.
"You mean like how you were planning to tell your brothers how you felt? By hiding in the stables?"
"Hey no fair, they're entirely different!", his wings were outstretched in irritation and fae just let it go. She didn't even know the full story of everything going on and there's no way she could guess exactly why this was as big a deal as was. Mason calmed himself down, he needed to be more adult right? Take this all seriously and not get worked up about that.
"We'll tell him...just not yet...".
"I'll take your word for it mason...".
"Don't blame me...it's really important...I promise.".
Dave reentered the room once again, a new table with him, a foldable one so if it broke it'd cause less of an accident. He smiled upon seeing the kids getting along and seeing fae holding mason's seeds, checking the table to make sure it was sturdy before taking a seat. "Sorry about that...hope I didn't leave you kids hanging for too long, I've never seen a table break like that.".
Fae and mason exchanged looks.
"Anyways...fae...back to questions, so...I want to know something else if that's ok.", oh great, more questions mason had to worry about, "Fae...is there anyone else we can further talk to about what's going on?". Fae was quick to answer and mason felt his claws sink into his seat, "Sky or judas...maybe that nora girl, maybe landon". Though as the words left her lifts mason let out a sigh.
Those were all people his grandpa knew were involved to an extent, thank goodness.
"Well...I suppose if mason doesn't have any more questions...I'll hand you over to tom.".
Wait...what?
"What about dad?", mason said, tugging on his grandpa's shirt, now much more nervous. What was happening? Handing fae over to his father? He didn't know his dad was apart of this whole thing, did they talk sometime no one really had seen? His dad knew the stuff going down so nothing fae could tell him was dangerous or risked anything, but this came super unexpected for the demon.
"Well as i stepped out, I figured i'd let thomas give it a shot with questions, give you a break young man, we'll go out and get something to eat if you don't mind.". He was being so sweet but mason came here to make sure he kept track of the truth potion as well and there was no jar in sight with the stuff. His dad knowing about the stuff they got into? Sure, he already knew.
But now he was being dragged away from the actions and his task.
"Wait wait...but I could help papa! We don't have to-"
"Sorry mason, but papa insisted I leave with you and not get you too involved in a lot of this stuff...not that I agree with that...but I guess for now I have to listen to him because I can't exactly sneak you in here.". He patted mason's head, "I'll make it up to you later ok? I still appreciate you helping me out with this, we'll try and get you more experience later.".
Mason pouted, dave saying farewell to fae as they left, mason looking back at her with sad eyes.
The door was closed and outside was tom, mason's papa, smiling and standing before them, looking to his father for updates. "I'll be heading to my office to make a report based on my notes, be gentle with her, she seems like a nice kid.". Tom sighed, "I agree, though don't worry about me, i'm used to dealing with rather moody kids on the regular after all.".
Mason pouted, making tom smirk even further.
"Point proven.".
"You'll have to touch on some new angles, it was hard to get a lot out of her or get a lot of new leads. But we might be able to work with it...you might have to get star for further help with some aspects. You just update me ok?", tom nodded, they still seemed to be conflicted with each other, but at least having them work together was an improvement.
A common goal they could work together on.
Tom patted his son before entering the room, mason being forced away from the scene by his grandfather. He looked back at the door, did he do a good job or had he possibly failed? His grandfather was still unaware but he was still empty handed, what should he do? Ask him right now? Wouldn't that seem suspicious? Mason wasn't supposed to know right?
For now, one thing was clear.
He still had work to do.
"Alright, so you went into the queen's mind?", globgor tried to poor them more of his tea, though unfortunately by this point it was a lot more cold then the first time. Too much time talking to these kids and still waiting on eclipsa, the poor monster was friendly, but was having a hard time with these kids who weren't entirely pleased with his love right now.
Sky looked about ready to give up and leave actually.
"Unintentionally, but yes...".
"Eclipsa's been in my mind before, entirely different spell of course but yours was made for more then one person so it was more helpful in the long run since star doesn't really like using eclipsa's spells anymore.". He handed them their cups though sky took hers more aggressively, "But i'm glad hearing it worked out, i've dealt with those parasites before actually...".
"You have?", angel asked, taking a sip.
"I was in a war, they tried to use one on me, and even eclipsa had one sent to her, neither of us ended up affected but some of our friends...did...it's not a fun process...when the thing takes you over you become a husk of your former self, your body is a puppet for this new being to live in till it drains you entirely. The worst part is you never know until it's too late, you think someone's ill and then they're gone soon after...your mom's lasted the longest out of anyone, somehow still able to talk on occasion and remember.".
"I'm sorry to hear...".
"The worse part is i think the one sent to me was by Seth of septarsis, real nasty fellow...a fellow monster too.", he growled at the mere mention of the lizard, "You never know who to trust really...though I guess I should be lucky I never fully trusted seth at all, he was a shady fellow and it figured he would try and remove me from the picture quietly if he could.".
"Could someone be doing that to mom...?".
"Could be, could not be...if they are, we'll catch them though.".
Angel's ears pressed against his head.
"Life on mewni still isn't a perfect place...but it's far better then 300 years ago, that's for sure.".
"Still could be better though."
"That...I can't deny.".
"Well the commission are still terrible people", sky hissed, "Still just as bad as they were years ago, this time they just can't arrest whoever they like based on their terrible evidence and all that...yeah, sure, they're trying to do better...but...ugh...every time they touch a scene the first thing they do is look for someone else to blame and It's annoying.".
"Well you know how I feel about them...", globgor grumbled, "Perhaps if they really want to actually help...they might be better off not being in charge of these missions after all, just go out and find time to learn and pull themselves together. " He made a good point, those guys never really lived a day in their life not being in charge of the universe or magic or all that.
Well actually hekapoo probably did but still.
"Yeah but doesn't that mean all their jobs are left unattended? Like whose gonna work them?", the commission were made for the jobs they worked, no mortal being could really handle it like them. Then again, sky didn't know how much work they even did, and maybe having other people do their job differently could actually be a vast improvement...you wouldn't have immortal jerks taking advantage of their power and immortality to make everything how they wanted it to be.
Actually, that was a good idea, a really good idea.
Globgor could tell sky was thinking about it and smirked to himself.
"And the mewmans say you won't be an important queen, I don't see it. I think with you in charge we might finally get some changes even your mother couldn't get to happen, and I for one, can't wait to see what you come up with.". Sky's eyes then turned to her wand, especially the crystal in particular, before looking back to the kindly size-shifter.
"So...omni works with mutliple dimensions right? And alternate timelines?", she took another sip of her tea, her prince companion also looking at her curiously, before it came to him why sky would want to ask such a question. Globgor shrugged to himself though, leaning back in his seat, "I'm no expert on the guys sadly...but I believe that's what he does...indeed, after all you considered asking him to send your sisters back before deciding not to.".
"Just making sure...it just...reminds me of something".
"You think he did it?", he raised an eyebrow at the princess who didn't really have a proper answer for him on that one.
"Not sure...I mean we guessed maybe so we said nothing because of it to him...but I also feel like if the team were really behind it to some how put me in a crystal...they would've fabricated more evidence or something to get us in trouble. I mean, hekapoo CAN clone herself and that nonsense, and they are all have knowledge of the butterfly family but like...they wouldn't get caught like Her did, hekapoo can literally just portal in and out.".
"Maybe they wanted to get caught?", angel suggested, coughing, "I mean...I'm not an expert it's just...getting caught doesn't always mean a bad thing for a criminal right?".
"Hmm...I guess that's an option?".
"Well he's not wrong", glogbor chimed in to the princess, "It's easier to take themselves look innocent if they can pin it on someone else and make the person seem like someone entirely different from any of them. Getting caught can also mean putting everyone off the scent and go looking for someone else while the culprit hides in plain sight.".
"Who do you think is under the mask?".
Me?", the monster king scratched his head, "No idea...though a sick part of me wants it to be the commission, even before what happened when eclipsa took care of you and almost got you hurt, your mother and us were in debate about how to treat the commission for their misdeeds. Star of course elected to keep them working but under her foot, but me and eclipsa were a lot more strongly against it since well...they could abuse it again. Granted now, maybe she's starting to wish she agreed with us way back then".
"Not surprised...", sky muttered under her breath, " Well if you ever catch them just tell me I guess...you guys apparently have a secret place of your own, maybe you're secretly neighbors with them.". Her statement seemed to amuse globgor though he was more then happy to take care of the culprit if the opportunity arrived, whether next door or not.
"What exactly would you do If you ran into them?", globgor's eyes looked into sky's as she gripped her cup a little tighter then before, her voice darker and face angry. "Oh...next time I see them after what they put me through, what they tried to do angel, what they did to nora, and what they could do to judas, they're going to wish they hadn't bothered showing up at all.".
Even angel could tell she was serious, especially after how she acted when she saved him, he almost seemed a little scared as he kept eye contact away from her.
Though globgor was a bit surprised at sky's reaction, taking her teacup from her before she broke the thing, "Easy princess...go too far and the mewmans will only have more of a reason to not like you then before, I would know. Though you have every right to be mad, especially considering angel might not have been here otherwise...frankly we're lucky no one else has been critically hurt.".
"I don't think killing is exactly what they want...", angel said softly, "It would be pointless to do unless they felt they had to...and I had betrayed them and could sell them out and get them into trouble...I get the impression if no one was there to save me, they'd have tried to pull the whole thing off as some sort of accident. And no one would have thought any wiser...", he grimaced at that, no doubt imagining how bad that situation would have been
"Well at least that's good...maybe...", well it wasn't GOOD good, but at least they could feel better thinking maybe Her only got like that if they felt they had no other choice in the situation. Granted, it was still bad, but at least it put less people at risk. They just have to be as careful as possible crossing her path if they ever did anytime soon.
She wasn't hunting angel right now, but she'd be mad at him being saved, and that still meant the boy was in danger until they were caught.
Suddenly the door burst open and the three were soon accompanied by the familiar green-haired queen in her usual dark attire and looking rather excited to see the kids once again in her small tower. Sky almost wanted to give up and run out but she really just needed to suck it up and stop letting her messy emotions ruin her day, especially with angel next to her.
Before eclipsa could even speak or reach out to them sky already stated their business directly to her.
"We need a charm...like luna's...now.".
Eclipsa seemed a little taken aback, but not entirely surprised either by the greeting, still smiling despite the tension.
"Well um...alright...", she hugged and kissed her husband before looking around her room, though she was not going all that fast.
The room was deathly silent.
Awkward.
"Well um...globgor...how has your day been?", eclipsa said, going through her shelves, trying to make some small talk to make the situation a little less awkward if possible considering the situation. Not that sky was making it easy for her, sky held a grudge, angel new well about that, and right now she was way more mad at eclipsa then she was to angel.
"It's been...alright.".
That was probably code for "It was alright but not so much right now".
"Good...", they sure weren't speaking to each other like nothing was wrong, this was the most awkward they'd ever been around each other from the times sky had seen them together. Guess they couldn't exactly pretend sky wasn't in the room with them, still rather mad, it was pretty much a damper on the mood when someone who you betrayed was plopped down in your makeshift mini home.
Though Eclipsa did attempt to try and break the tension a little, just not to sky.
"Angel dear, how are you feeling?", eclipsa said in her sweestest voice, still looking through her things.
Angel didn't look sure if he should speak to eclipsa, or keep following sky's silent anger as to not possibly offend her in any way by talking to the woman who betrayed her. But he mustered up the courage to speak to the woman instead. As annoyed as sky could be to this, Eclipsa was partially the reason angel's life had been saved anyway and he did quite miss her.
"I could be better, considering the situation.".
"i heard...mind parasite huh? What a nasty little devil to have. Did globgor tell you we had to deal with a few back in the day?", angel nodded and slumped back in his seat, "Did...you ever save anyone who had them?". Eclipsa turned her head to globgor whose expression told angel any and all of the cures and spells to stop the creatures had come after their time.
How devastating.
"At least these days things have changed enough to help creatures who could only suffer back in the day, never thought I'd see the day the spiderbites would finally eradicate their own real spiderbites. Though their princess is luckier then most by already being immune to that kinda stuff, slimes are quite interesting that way...though personally I found them boring when i was younger...did you know they tend to only use the name "Slime"?".
"Look, do you have the charm or not?", sky was getting impatient here and they had other things to do today.
"Alright alright, hold on...I don't have nearly as many of the ingredients close by as I did the last time.".
She started pulling out a few books and a couple herbs from her shelves and cupboards, "When I saw poor luna on the floor last time I got the impression someone tried to take over her body and whipped one up to ward the spell away, but these things have rare ingredients. Otherwise I'd make you all a charm to keep you safe...though the magic only lasts so long anyway unless you keep enchanting it.".
"Does luna know how to re-enchant it?"
"Luna's clever, no doubt she either looked for it in the library or went though my books when I wasn't here when she knew it could be useful. Honestly I get the impression considering how suspicious she was of me she went through this whole room to see if she could officially clear me or not. Though even now i'm not sure where she stands on me, though honestly she has snapped at me as much as you have recently...".
"She snapped at you?".
"I might of went into her mind a bit, nosed around, she wasn't a fan.".
"Is anyone a fan of that?'.
Eclipsa only sighed to herself, "Probably not but I couldn't help but peek, she's got quite a mind that one. Truthfully what she needs is to stop working and connect, form friendships and bonds...her mind is nothing but work and if not that, it's about stuff she has to do in the future. She wasn't a fan of any of my suggestions and we didn't part on the best of terms.".
"Did...you see her before she left?".
"Yep...yes I did.".
Eclipsa and globgor exchanged looks and sky found herself suspicious.
"Do you...have any idea where she went?".
"Yesssss...nooooooo", eclipsa's voice and tone almost sounded playful and sky found herself more suspicious. "Hold up, yes or no? Since when have you guys had info on where luna went? No one has had any idea, not even judas. You knew something about this and never told me or my mom or anyone? Not that i'm thrilled to want luna back or anything but...seriously?", she stood up, facing the couple who shrugged.
"Well we don't know where she is...we...had someone well...keep an eye on her".
"You tagged her?!".
"Well, we had someone else tag and follow her around so...yes? As far as we know everything gone smoothly though luna may know she's being followed considering how smart she is.". Eclipsa was already standing, fiddling with her hands, "Me and globby though maybe to keep an eye on her and soon enough after she left they followed suit and have been watching her since.".
"Who...exactly?".
Then angel jumped in, coming to some sort of realization, "Hold on a second...wild guess but...could they be...katrina's partner by any chance? We never found out their mission and why they've been out, and surely you would know them since you know katrina correct?". Their faces were a dead giveaway, and sky had to be impressed with angel's new detective skills.
Even if this might just be another wild guess he took that just worked out for him.
"Well you see...".
Sky was dumbfounded.
"You sent a SPY after her and didn't tell anyone?! The two of you decided to keep that to yourselves when everyone's been worried and freaking out about luna just up and leaving?! I thought you and mom were-".
"Dear, they're a spy for a reason, they're supposed to be undercover...besides...you don't really want to force luna back here when she wanted to go out herself do you?", she wasn't wrong, sky didn't even stop luna from leaving. Now she was upset they could find luna and bring her back? She should at least be thankful luna was well...alive at the very least and they had some idea where she was.
"She's...ok right?", she said quickly, just to make sure before she relaxed.
"As far as we know, if she had been hurt we'd have told you right away.".
"Just...making sure...good..good...thank goodness...".
"We you worried about her? ", eclipsa said with a twinge of amusement in her voice, " She might not be the easiest to get along with but i think she'd be touched you care so much about her despite how much she cut herself off from everyone. That was probably true despite the girl's shell, though sky then remembered she was trying not to speak to the queen and was now trapped in conversation with her.
And quickly shut her mouth to go back to sulking.
Eclipsa came back with the necklace prepared and noticed sky's attitude and she seemed to look a tad sadder, "Dear...I know you're mad but I still want to help you, I still want to talk to you, it's ok if you're mad at me, you might be mad at me for awhile...but I do want to help you and I do want the best for you. I hope eventually you can learn to forgive me.".
Angel put down his cup on the table in front of him, stretching out his legs, "Well...um eclipsa...it might not matter but sky here wants this charm to well...help my mother. " This didn't seem to surprise the queen at all, in fact she actually seemed more delighted sky cared more about helping angel then she did about giving eclipsa the silent treatment.
"Well then, that's wonderful to hear angel, i hope this can help her if you truly think it might work.".
Though in her mind sky could hear the biggest reason eclipsa found it wonderful was due to sky's willingness to put angel over her current feelings towards eclipsa. She found herself rolling her eyes at the meer thought of it, and returned her focus to what eclipsa was doing. She was clearly enchanting the object, but it seemed to be a tad more troublesome then it appeared.
Eclipsa for one, put several small spells at it, then sprinkled it with magic, then did a few MORE spells on the charm. Was luna's this enchanted as well? And everyone said landon was too exposed to magic radiation these days. Luna we walking around with a charm that could burn dark magic by just touching it and melt it into nothingness like it was acid.
When eclipsa was finished, it glowed for a few seconds before becoming a regular looking charm, similar to luna's.
And Sky almost seemed...astonished in a way, at least for how quickly and how dangerous this thing probably was. Eclipsa smiled to herself and fixed her hair, clearly proud of how she got the charm ready so quickly. "Usually is you screw a single one of those spells up, the whole thing can blow up and I just got this place kinda cleaned up, so good thing we didn't have another one of those..", she brushed her hands together as sky took the necklace looking charm.
"You sure this thing is...safe?".
"Dear the only creatures who don't think it's safe is those with dark magic in their veins, if i still had my dark magic scars on my arms it would actually burn my hands just touching it, which is exactly why I enjoy my gloves. With those on you can make sure you don't get burned by anything of pure magic, soon that charm will wear out though, so i promise it won't be so magic engrossed for long. Pure Magic doesn't always counter dark magic, sometimes it's the other way around, but this one is extremely strong so nothing that bug could produce could fight back".
"Yeah...this...won't hurt the queen right?".
"Nah, just the bug, the queen herself has not dark magic in her system itself...", then she turned to angel, "She doesn't right? Because if you think she's in pain now that will be 10x worse on her.". But angel happily shook his head, "No nope nope...just the possible bug, thank you for that...uh...I'll make sure if i'm ever corrupted in the next few hours never to touch it".
"Good...anything else kids?".
"Nope, we're good.", sky was quick to head for the door, grabbing for angel to take him with her, though angel had used his legs to grip the sofa and keep sky from dragging them out of the room at all, the boy clearly not ready to leave yet. Sky seemed more then annoyed at this fact, but grumbled and leaned against the entrance, sulking, but not wanting to leave without angel.
"Angel? What's up?".
"Um...Eclipsa...if it it's ok for me to ask...have...you seen...my...father anytime recently...after the trial? I...haven't really properly spoken to him in a long time and I never saw him after the trial so...", well jeeze, now sky just felt bad for trying to make angel leave when he had something like that on his chest. The spider eagerly awaited an answer as eclipsa looked to her monster husband.
Globgor coughed, "We caught him recently actually...but well...he was rather busy...mostly interviewing for the paper about the trial and everything that occured, plus your kingdom right now is still dealing fresh with your mom's current situation and the trial too...so...yes".
"Oh...".
"However! I think he's going to attempt a visit to see you soon enough once he can.", Eclipsa said quickly, "Dear, your father misses you so much, he was emotionally drained after that trial but forced to leave to deal with the kingdom, it's just too much to deal with right now. ". The prince still seemed to be rather dissapointed though, wondering if maybe his father was still highly upset with him and just didn't want to see him at all.
It was hard not to get that impression at least.
Eclipsa's motherly instincts kicked in fact, trying to make the prince feel at least a little better, "Angel dear, I can assure you once your father is able to he will be here to see you and talk to you, I know It must be hard not being able to speak to your father at all with all this going on. But the situation has impacted everyone in many different ways, including him.".
"I just wish it felt like he was trying to speak to me...or that he wanted to see me...", this would've been one of those times a compact would have really come in handy to help the poor boy and sky felt almost like she should ask angel if he wanted to borrow hers. But eclipsa seemed to have read her mind on that and pulled out her own compact, "Do you know your father's number? I assume he might have a compact or a mirror?".
"I don't know his number...I never had to memorize it before...".
Right, that did makes things more difficult.
"Well, next time I see him i'll tell him to come over here and see his son...alright?", this seemed to put some light in the boy's eyes, he did trust eclipsa after all. He sent eclipsa nod her way as he followed sky out willingly, though sky did look back at eclipsa before leaving. The door slamming behind them as eclipsa and globgor exchanged glances from the interaction.
"You should probably talk to sky...", the monster took the teacups from the table, giving the tea a taste for himself. His wife seemed to agree, though she knew sky wouldn't be that easy to convince. "I know...but you know i only did it to protect her...and if she doesn't see it that way, that makes it a lot harder to really have us...well work the whole thing out.", she plopped down on the seat next to him, lying against him.
"Well...maybe you should regain her trust again?".
Eclipsa pressed into his body further.
"Well...how do you propose I do that?".
"SKY! ANGEL!"
"Yo nora!"
The slime girl hesitated before pulling sky and angel both into a quick hug, before nervously looking towards the spider woman still lying on the bed. "I've been by her side for hours, keeping an eye out on her. I assume you're either here to visit or have some news to help me?". And that's when sky pulled out the charm, the suddenness spooking the slimey girl.
Nora looked instantly confused.
"Isn't that...luna's?".
"No...it's just...a charm like luna's.".
Nora blinked at it, clearly remembering how this same charm literally burned and seemed to murder a dark magical charm during her rescue. She seemed a bit hesitant to be around it, but then again, she wasn't an expert on magic and magic already made her nervous so sky couldn't blame her too bad on this one. The other princess was quick to ease nora before she got further worried though.
"It's going to try and draw the parasite out a bit, weaken it, then we can deal with it further", she explained it like that was super obvious to nora and nora just had to trust her instincts on this one. "Well...I guess you can give it a shot...but I have to report this to my mother, she should know just in case...y'know", it must've been weird for nora to be helping her mom out like this.
Especially since she both had been doing stuff behind her back, and had blatantly attacked her, even if she gave that up to help.
It felt like...working for the enemy but also not.
"I guess that's fair...", there was no point in arguing with it, especially since Queen Spiderbite was trying to save the queen and Angel sure wouldn't oppose it either. Sky placed the charm next to the occupied bed, Angel just staring at his mom, "If this all does work...I'm...what if she really does end up mad at me for everything I did? I...I didn't even want to be in the same room with her like this for weeks...".
"Your still worried about that...huh?".
He nodded, "It's...hard to not be.".
"Angel...trust me...your mom really loves you...if...this does all work out...she'll love you no matter what.", the boy seemed to appreciate this coming from sky, and nora approached writing more notes in her tiny notepad. "So...tell m more about this charm...what uh...is it supposed to do exactly? I mean, i know it's to help...but...how does it...uh...work?", and the princess of mewni was left stumped.
Even she had no idea.
"Uhhhhhhh...maybe you should ask eclipsa...we got it from her.".
"Oh...eclipsa and you spoke? Wasn't that...awkward?".
"Yes...", she said bluntly, "Yes it was.".
"Oh...sorry.".
"Don't worry about it, anyway how are things going on your end...?", Nora put down her notepad, the girl shrugging awkwardly and not exactly making eye contact. Clearly her end wasn't going so much better, and it wasn't a surprise why. Her mom and dad were in troubled after what happened at the trial, and now nora was working with them to help angel and it was probably incredibly awkward.
Like, extremely awkward.
"Nora...she didn't say anything...mean right?".
"No...", she mumbled, "Nothing mean...but...y'know...there's a lot going on right now.".
Yeah no kidding.
"Is judas coming to join us soon?", she asked rather innocently, smiling, "I haven't really gotten to see him all day, I'm sure he's busy and everything...I...just like talking to him.'. Sky shrugged and took a seat nearby, "Judas hasn't gotten back to me actually...I asked for him to help get our truth potion back, but that's about it...he was with his brother I think...".
"Oh...ok...well I hope he speaks to me soon. You just let me know".
"I'll send him a text right now actually...see what he has to say...", she gave the other princess a hopeful smile as she sent a text his friend's way, hopefully things were going well and he could get back to her soon on any updates.", Angel had approached nora in the meantime, and she seemed happy to actually see him, not hiding from him nor worried he'd bring up their families's past.
"You look well...mostly...".
"You seem to be feeling a little better then before...", she noted, "Your hair seems looser then before though...". Which was true, Angel's hair was in a ponytail as it usually was, but it rested on his shoulder, and it wasn't as tight, almost an in between of his usual look and how loose his hair had been when he wasn't trying to make himself look good in his sadness.
"Judas said the same thing when I saw him last...well...this morning when I saw him...", angel looked down at himself, "I may be turning into him at this rate, i already smell and dress like him...". This got a chuckle out of nora, "Well, that's not such a bad thing, at least it's better then being dirty and naked around here, it's...nice to get our of the stuffy clothes sometimes.".
"I second that", sky said, raising her hand, "Some royals wanna wear dresses and suits everywhere but it's all so uncomfortable...even when I make dresses I try and tailor it to me...".
"That's pretty great sky!".
"I actually did offer to like, help make jude's coronation suit but like...he wants such a boring coronation i'm not sure anything I make will fit his tastes...though right now i think his coronation might be set back or cancelled with everything going on. Maybe he'll change his mind about his coronation and do something he really truly wants to do but that's on him...", the mention of this caught the royal's eye.
"You were going to make him a suit? Like his very own coronation suit for him?".
"He's my best friend...it's a big day for him, I make clothes, what better gift then give him the suit he'd be crowned in?"
She shrugged though, still typing, "But no word on that from him so not much I can do about it...plus so much else has been going on i barely have time to make anything overall.". This seemed to make nora sadder, thinking about just being unsure if he should have a coronation that he really wanted or one that just made him look better for the people.
"You should make it".
"Hmm?", sky looked up from her compact, nora speaking a little louder this time.
"Make him a suit anyway...he's your best friend, even if he won't wear it for his coronation...you should make it for him.". She was almost stern about it, making it clear it did bother her that sky would even reconsider not making something so special for her best friend. Though Sky was quick to catch on, "I might...It's...I don't wanna force anything on Judas right now...I just...don't think it's a good idea.".
"I kinda...", angel scratched his head, "Well...prince lucitor should be allowed to be happy but wouldn't be bad to go against what he wants?". Angel clearly cared about Judas himself but in different ways then sky and nora, sky was judas's long time friend, and nora was a more new friend who bonded with him emotionally. Angel was new and had a bit of an emotional bond but also was more practical, well, more practical then he used to be.
He wouldn't wanna force anything on judas either, he'd seen the boy stressed and frustrated enough as is.
And now he seemed to regret speaking up, both pairs of eyes looking towards him now.
"Uhhh...i'm not saying he might not want it, it's just...he...seems to have enough to worry about then dealing with his coronation...and everything with that.", Nora and Sky shrugged his answer off, sky instead changing the subject to avoid getting into a fight. "Anyway nora...so...It turns out, eclipsa's tracking luna, she sent a spy after her...apparently luna ain't as cut off as we thought."
And indeed, nora's expression changed and her mind focused elsewear.
"Wait...luna? Where is she? Is she close by?".
"No idea... I just know eclipsa has her tailed...I'm telling judas about it now, he's going to want to know this...he was pretty crushed about luna leaving without saying goodbye to him", not that judas would get back to sky right away, but this was worth mentioning to him of all people. If anything it might make him feel at least a little better knowing luna was probably ok for certain.
"Oh...he hasn't talked about her much since she left has he? I know they were at least a little close and everything".
"No...not really...he kinda had to think about everyone else at that point and just hope she came back...and I get it", Sky finished texting and put her compact away, "Angel however has gotten pretty good at figuring stuff out himself it seems...so...maybe...we outta ask katrina a few more questions on who her partner is that's tagging luna and try and contact them.".
"Wait why?".
"If luna knows anything, we should ask her, and only this spy person truly knows anything about that. We find the spy and then we talk to luna directly about what she found, if anything. She said she might come back but we can't promise that...so...".
"We saw her earlier, it probably would look suspicious if we headed back over there to prod her about her partner.", the prince was right about that, they'd have to give it at least a few days to come up with a way of getting that out of her. But it was a real lead, and that was better then nothing. The only real question was if they should ask her mothers for help.
After all, they held more power over katrina and despite how helpful she could be, she wouldn't just give them her partner's number in a flash. She would however, tell her moms if they so much as asked, but then again, luna would probably be very unpleased with them sending people after her. Telling her mom left a number of other problems to come into focus after all.
"We could try the truth potion...", she mumbled, "Maybe that would have less risks...".
"Yeah but...if katrina catches you doing that, your mom is probably going to find out about it...right? ", that was...also true, if anyone were to detect a truth potion it would be a spy of all people. Sky got up and off the bed, "Alright fine, I guess I just gotta inform mom about this whole thing and get her help...guess it's better then getting in serious trouble.".
Then her compact rang, pulling it out to take a look.
"It's judas.".
The others looked to her with mild concern.
"Everything ok sky?".
"I'm...not sure, he's coming over here now actually...", and soon enough the doors opened, judas entering, followed by celeste. "Mom and Dad came to pick up landon and we were allowed to leave while they talked, what's this about you guys knowing where luna is?",He looked a mix between panicked and relieved, part of him had probably been worried sick about her being out there by herself even despite how powerful she was.
He even startled everyone as soon as he opened the door.
"Judas...you ok?".
The demon breathed, before a smile came across his face.
"Yeah...I think...I'm finally happy to have some proper good news for once.".
Star was still processing this information, though sky wasn't exactly giving her a break or slowing down on it either. The queen had been in the middle of doing some research in her own office when all the kids burst in to tell her luna had a tail on her. Judas didn't even protest against telling the queen, perhaps feeling similar to sky in the fact she'd be more helpful to finding luna then not.
Though what was most surprising, was this didn't seem to shock star, not at all.
With everything she'd been through in her life it seemed nothing really fazed her as much as it had before, betrayals, attacks, magical mayhem, she'd seem most if not all of it and this was far from the first time she dealt with the former queen of darkness. Thinking back to all their past issues and wondering if maybe she and eclipsa had more to talk about then she thought.
Her face soon enough, became a grin as she leaned back in her chair and tapped her forehead.
"Of course eclipsa did...I should have known.".
She tapped at her face and shook her head, "Thanks for letting me know, i'm going to have a talk with katrina and see what she might add, she might not know the extent of her teammate and what they do but getting in contact with them and learning what they know sounds like a good way to get a lead on this. Plus we can make sure luna is well...safe out there.".
Sky wondered as her mother paused, if she was still processing the fact luna was technically her own daughter or not, though star quickly shook it off.
"I'll let jackie know immediately to help out as well.".
"Wait...jackie?", sky stood up from her seat inn front of her mother, leaning against the desk, "Isn't jackie staying here to help with the whole "Evil bug" thing? She's kinda your expert right?". Though star shook her head, "She's actually with Queen Spiderbite right now, telling her everything she knows on the matter, and she already made her reports on that journey. So once she's done, she's free to go on another mission.".
"I'm not sure that's a good-".
"Sky, Jackie is Luna's superior...well...was...even considering the uh...circumstances, jackie is the best one to handle this. We can't send just anyone out there, plus jackie knows her at least a little better then any of us do...in terms of her skills.". She wasn't wrong, Jackie was trained for this kinda stuff and probably could handle it just fine, though one reason luna probably left was to avoid confronting her other mom.
Having Star know was awkward enough, she probably didn't want to confront the other who she worked under for a bit.
"Does jackie...?", in fact sky didn't remember jackie ever talking about luna much since what happened and since she left, and she started wondering if maybe there was something up. "I mean i'd be weird but maybe not that much weirder then you all already knowing uh...the truth about them, though i'm not sure how that would make her feel...".
"Not yet...i've been on the fence about telling her, I mean, marco's actually all for it because they think jackie can handle it and it would help us to talk to her, but i'm not so sure.', the queen tapped at her desk, rocking in her chair for a bit, "I'm worried if jackie knew she'd have a harder time doing her mission, this situation's too important to have my top knight distracted and worried like that.".
She had a point.
"Is it...distracting for you?", angel spoke up among the small crowd, the queen looking at sky and then celeste, "Maybe a little more then i'd like to admit, there's admittedly something fascinating about meeting those from alternate realities, especially ones where I well...may have lived entirely different lives. Though i am trying to avoid dealing with it honestly...it's...gotta focus on the criminal right now.".
"So is jackie going to bring luna back?", judas crossed his arms, worried about exactly what the extent of having jackie be the one going out to get luna was. Luna would probably attack jackie, whether on accident or on purpose of she found out jackie was spying on her or tried to take her back. Even if luna didn't use magic she would still be hard to force anywhere.
"Not exactly...not yet...we'll talk to katrina's partner, get some info, and then we'll see about luna coming back. I don't want her out there alone with the situation at hand but I don't think we can force her back either when she wanted to go out and help." This seemed to ease judas a little bit more, though not entirely considering luna's fate was unknown still.
"How soon are you gonna send her out?".
"If possible, by tonight.".
"Went through all that trouble and mom confiscated our charm necklace..."
"At least she's considering using it at all, she just needs to confront the queen about it...you'll just let us know the results right nora?", judas looked over to nora, who clutched her notepad in her arms, "Right...I'll have to see what mom thinks of it...but...you still got it, that's pretty good if anything.". Though the girl seemed to be thinking of other things, her eyes looking in the distance.
Probably about her mom and the convo about judas earlier.
"How's landon doing anyway?", sky mumbled, looking to celeste and judas who exchanged looks. Celeste simply shrugged and Judas looked indifferent, "No idea honestly, we talked to him and well...we may of gotten to him a little but it's hard to say, he did however...want to take this fall for this because he didn't sneak into her office because of us...he did it on his own."
"Well...ok, I guess that's...something.".
"There are just...there's a lot of issues we need to work out between us...", that was the most simple way of putting it, "But this time he did help us...turns out...what he found...he found the mask. It apparently cracked and broke in the magic dimension.". Sky seemed rather shocked by this, after all, that meant the person was running around without their mask right now.
"Mom didn't mention it at all back there...", then again, who knows if anything would've turned up by now when they spent so much time dealing with literally everything else. Though as she was thinking about it judas seemed to have read her mind on his end, the demon patting her shoulder to ease her on her mother not mentioning it to her, sky was clearly still touchy about that.
"No need to, haven't had enough time to examine it...plus I think my dad told me your mother handed it off to your other mother to look over instead since she has more freetime.", mom janna huh? Guess that at least kept her from spending all her time pulling pranks and picking mushrooms and doing all the other stuff she did rather then her job.
"Your dad mentioned it?".
"When they came to pick up landon they mentioned they handed the "Artifact" up to janna, don't worry it's not because they didn't want to tell me what it was...I think they assumed landon told me already anyway...they are just trying not to speak too much about stuff like that in public...so that's their code word for it". Celeste sighed, huffing and closing her eyes as she caught up with the two chatting friends.
"I feel like this is my fault.".
"What?", the darker haired princess said, toning down her voice as they passed by some guards.
"I literally encouraged landon to be sorta like this...to go out there, and not care and do whatever he wants, I was the one who got him into our kinda group with luna and that made him mad and ugh look...I...I had good intentions...I just didn't think he'd put himself in danger...", her voice grew softer, celeste had been ok taking risks before but something seemed to have changed inside her.
"Celeste...?".
"Look I didn't meant for it to get so far but...this whole thing just makes landon more unhappy...i made him unhappy...".
She pouted, crossing her arms and hunching herself over, "And before you say it isn't...I know he was super mad about this before, but I just know he wouldn't be trying to be the hero If i hadn't gotten him into this mess in the first place. ", she refused to have sky or judas reach out to hug her or comfort her, shaking her head and grumbling to herself as they walked.
Holding onto her disguised wand-bracelet tightly.
This really bothered her, didn't it? No one was used to celeste getting so...emotional about stuff like this, at least beyond being mad or ticked off. Celeste didn't share how she felt much, nor did she really talk to anyone in general. No one seemed to know how to react but if on instinct judas's big brother instincts had kicked in at seeing the crying girl in front of him.
"Celeste...hey...you wanna talk?", she turned to look at judas, stopping in her tracks, "What else can i really say? People don't like me, I screw up every friendship i'm in, and i'm useless on this team to you guys...end of story.". She was back to being her usual angry self, though this time there was a hint of sadness in her voice, whatever this was it had been building up for awhile.
"Celeste...hey, hold up...", Judas was quick to stop her from leaving, "Don't talk about yourself like that...we don't hate you.". Celeste was sniffling, batting at her eyes, "Don't mess with me judas...I know people don't like me, I don't get along with people and I don't try to get along with people...you guys barely even speak to me...and that's because I didn't even really want to speak to you either...".
Then she turned around, red faced.
"Don't look at me like that...I-I just...I pushed everyone away and my only friend here is more miserable and angry and getting himself in trouble because of me...i'm driving myself insane, and I can't explain it...I'm just so...angry and upset and...I miss home.". She was breaking down and almost on instinct as a brother judas went in to comfort her, not hugging her right away but easing her into it.
How long had this been building up inside of her?
It felt like it had been building long before she even arrived in this universe.
The others watched as judas just let celeste cry into his shoulder, clinging onto her technical half brother and letting it all out of her system. Celeste wasn't much for physical contact, nor showing her emotions like this with other people, but at this moment she couldn't hold it in much longer and she found herself pushing her face further into his shoulder as the others came up behind her.
They joined judas in a bit of a group hug.
Angel and Nora didn't even know celeste super well, but felt compelled to join in, no doubt the breakdown affecting them just as much considering how many breakdowns they had or even sky and judas had during all this. The Hug went on for a few more minutes before it seemed celeste had finally calmed down, and while she didn't smile exactly, she did let out a small "Thanks" as everyone discarded from each other.
"We should get going back to the underworld, i'll check up on mason and sunny will join us soon i'm sure...", judas wrapped his arm around celeste's shoulder, "I'll update you guys soon, and you do so for me...just...call me if you need anything...or well...actually I should be calling you sky, considering your our new leader.". He patted his companion as nora went in for a hug with judas herself.
"Hope I see you tomorrow".
"Hope tomorrow is more normal so seeing each other won't feel incredibly awkward and scary".
That got a laugh out of her.
"Yeah...me too...".
Judas quickly pulled sky and angel into a hug as well, "And you two better not do anything stupid without me...but update me on luna if anything comes in, or if anything comes up from eclipsa that we didn't know before...". Sky and Angel smiled through judas's gripping demon strength, the demon taking celeste's hand before they flamed to the underworld.
"Guess it is getting late isn't it...", sky rubbed at her forehead before looking to her companions, "Care to join for a mostly normal evening again? This time you get to eat with my parents instead". There was no guarantee it'd be less awkward or any better then yesterday's dinner after the trail but at least it wouldn't have nearly as much tension as yesterday.
And her companions were quick to agree.
Walking with the princess down the halls together, hoping the worst was over.

Since When Has Our Relationship Ever Been Easy?
Okay, SO. I have grown to the point where I feel like song fics cause your work to be taken a little less seriously. It dates the work and can make it appear a little jarring. Of course, this doesn’t apply to work based off a song, but rather trying to insert lyrics into your writing in order to set a certain mood or, really, you just like the song.
Where am I going with this? Well, I guess it’s karaoke time, because I have to insert a song into this chapter. I tried everything I could think of to not use it, but there’s going to be singing involved at some point, and I’m not creative enough to write a song! I’ll go into more details at the end of the chapter, lest I spoil what happens with this introduction. Take care and enjoy!
*Also please let me know if the extra spacing between the dialogue in this chapter bugs you guys. It takes a little extra time to get it with less space, but if that’s how you guys prefer it, I’ll be happy to oblige!
 Ages:
 Globgor: 9
 Eclipsa: 8
Prologue/CH1/CH2/CH3
CH3-Among the Enemy
Among the Enemy
It seemed no matter where she went, Eclipsa was a stark contrast to everyone around her. Whether it be with her friends, her family, or in this case, the guards who stood valiantly along the halls of her home. They remained stoic and unmoving, even as the princess skipped happily through the carpeted corridors. Sure, she tried waving to them once or twice, but as usual, she was ignored. Most adults seemed to enjoy doing that. Blowing her off like some sort of fly. She never really understood that. Wasn’t she going to be queen one day? Shouldn’t people be giving her some attention?
Then again, maybe her invisibility was actually a blessing considering all the mischief she had been getting in to as of late.
She stopped at her destination-a simple door that worked as a sort of supply closet for all the magical doohickeys Glossaryck left lying around. Her mom had told her magical mentor to pick up after himself, but so far he had yet to comply. So the queen usually just wound up getting the servants to toss his junk in here.
 Much to Eclipsa’s delight.
She rubbed her hands together eagerly as opened the door. As expected, none of the guards paid her any mind. There was nothing in there that could be considered dangerous. It was filled with a bunch of junk, like apples that could sing in a foreign language, or sock puppets that held staring matches. Annoyances rather than weapons. But what was one queen’s trash, was another princesses’ treasure!
Eclipsa turned on the lantern that hung from the ceiling as stepped inside. She pushed some junk aside, wanting to make some room. Almost immediately, all the magical items that could talk started to chatter. The clock that snored, the hairbrush that brushed its teeth while whistling, the gloves that never stopped clapping, the list was endless. However, as fun as all these gimmicks were, there was one object the princess was searching for in particular.
“Aha! Got you!” She stood on her tip toes in order to reach behind the mirror that showed you what you would look like if you were the opposite gender and pulled out a music box. It was a white box that glittered like a pearl. It had several knobs on the lid, each channeling a different song. Not just any songs though. These were songs that came from other dimensions. Some of them weren’t even written yet in their world and were pulled out from the future!
Eclipsa hummed happily to herself as she sat the box down on the dresser that ate your clothes. As much as she loved hearing some of that hard-hitting music that made her want to swing her head around, she was in more in the mood for something softer at that moment. She reached for the fancy knob on the right hand corner and opened the lid. Because she had chosen an elegant song, a small ballroom dancer appeared when she opened the lid. Both she and the dancer gave a little bow to each other before the doll began her song.
Eclipsa swayed to the music, humming along to the song she had heard many times. She imagined dancing in the middle of the forest with a bard playing nearby. After all, it would be much more fun to dance around nature and life rather than the stuffy balls the Butterflys were notorious for throwing. Much more room out beyond the castle walls. Not to mention much more excitement.
A small smile appeared on her face as she imagined a dance partner to share this song with. Of course the first person she thought of was her secret monster friend. Ha! The very thought of Globgor dancing was priceless! He was much too serious to do something like that! She doubted he had an elegant bone in his body. He was always too dirty and grouchy. She liked him anyway though. She could tell he was a nice guy because he often brought over monster things during their secret meetings for her to see. He showed her their books, their games, their clothes, their customs, all sorts of things. She always made sure to return the favor of course, even though he acted like he had no interest in her culture. He made it very clear to her that although he made an exception for her, he still despised all Mewmans.
Oh Globgor. She was sure if he would just take the time to have some fun, he wouldn’t be such a grump. He was way too invested in all the arguing adults got into. He was almost as bad as the princesses of the Butterfly allies. Still though, at least he gave her the time of day, something she couldn’t say about….well, most people in her life!
“Hey Glossaryck, is that you in the-“
Eclipsa halted her twirling as someone unexpectedly entered the room. It was a strange looking woman with white skin, long red hair, and golden eyeballs. The minute their gazes locked, the intruder swore under her breath before turning tail in the opposite direction.
“Hekapoo!” Eclipsa shut the box and raced after the woman. She saw her walk down the hallway, pushing the rest of the High Commission with her. They were speaking in loud whispers, leaving the woman to shrug her shoulders in defense. “Hey guys! Wait up!”
The group tried to speed up, only for the princess to run around them and plant her feet firmly on the ground, her eyes locked on them.
A look of defeat crossed the members’ features before the big skull guy called Omnitraxus Prime spoke. “Ah Princess….we didn’t see you there!”
 “Yes you did.”
“Well, okay it was more like we didn’t want to see you,” Reynaldo the Bald Plate said before earning a jut from Hekapoo’s elbow. The giraffe man shrugged as if to say ‘well it’s true’.
“Baaaaaah,” the goat demon Lekmet cut in.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re right.” The crystal-head guy named Rhombulus gave a pointed look towards the young girl. “So uh…Princess Eclipsa, is there something we can do for you?”
Eclipsa paused. “Well…..how are you guys?”
They all stared at her with blank expressions. They turned to confusion as they looked at one another.
“What does she mean by that?” whispered Rhombulus.
“Not sure. I don’t think we’ve included her in our battle strategies.” Omnitraxus looked over at his goat accomplice. “Lekmet, check our rosters. She is quite small. Maybe we just didn’t notice her.”
 “Baaaaah.”
Rhombulus raised one of his snake hands.“Lekmet says a good leader should know who’s attending a meeting, who could be attending a meeting, and who already had attended a meeting at all times. A roster is nothing more than a cheat sheet for lazy planning.”
“He ate it, didn’t he?” Hekapoo quipped.
 “Guys, guys!”
Everyone turned back to look at Eclipsa as she frantically waved her hands back and forth. “I wasn’t referring to the war! I just wanted to know how you guys were doing in general!”
 A pause.
 “……Why?” Reynaldo inquired.
Eclipsa sighed. “Well, it’s just that, every time you guys show up here, you meet with my mom and then immediately leave. How come you guys never hang around? I mean, you do for big events, but-“
“What is she talking about?” Omnitraxus whispered, as if the princess wouldn’t be able to hear him if he softened his voice.
Instead of answering him, Hekapoo raised a hand. “Princess, I’m gonna stop you right there. Our job is to monitor and regulate the magic throughout the multi-dimensions. Our association is with the queen. We’re not here to sit and chat with the rest of the family.”
“But I’m going to be queen one day!”
“And when that happens, you’ll see so much of us it’ll be nauseating.” Omnitraxus said, his voice condescending. “Until then, well, we really have no need to associate with you.”
“….” Eclipsa folded her arms and looked dejectedly off to the side. “….You know, I really don’t have many friends here. Everyone is so obsessed with the war. No one is interested in just hanging out, talking, or having fun. It’s like no one has the time to be happy.” She made a noise of frustration as she turned to face the window reflecting to her left.
“Mom says that we fight to stay alive, but what’s the point of that if we don’t do anything with our lives? It’s like we fight to live so we can live to fight! Is anyone actually interested in winning this thing? Who exactly is my mother if not the valiant she-knight revered by her people? And what will I be-“
 ….
Her words halted as she turned to see the High Commission had fled the area, leaving her to stand alone.
 …..
Her head sank as she tightly gripped her right arm. She had actually surprised herself with the amount of insight she had spilled on the group of magic leaders. She had always known she hated the war, but she had never put her feelings into detail before. It wasn’t just about no one having time for her. She was tired of seeing everyone so angry and miserable all the time. This war had been going on her whole life. Would it go on for the rest of it? Would everyone be unhappy forever?
Eclipsa sighed as she made her way over to the window. She cupped her cheeks and leaned her elbows on the sill. How she wished Globgor was available to hang out that day. It was amazing that he was so involved in the war she despised, yet he still made time to meet with her once a week. It was always random days, as Globgor thought it would look too suspicious if he disappeared around the same time every week. This week they had planned to meet on Friday. Stupid ‘ol four days away Friday.
Ugh, she didn’t want to wait that long! She really missed him! She wanted them to play together! She wished she could just go say hi to him, but no doubt the other monsters would be pretty mad about her being there. Plus she really didn’t want to get him in trouble.
 …..
Her eyes brightened. She released a happy gasp before quickly heading off to her bedroom.
  ___
A Mewman named Hue grunted in dismay as he landed face-first in the mud in front of him. He swore he could hear the animals of the forest giggling to himself as scrambled back to his feet and wiped himself off. This was just not turning out to be his day. How could he have gotten so lost? Ugh, it was all his cousin’s fault! Why did he have to give him such a crummy map? It was like a two-year-old drew this thing!
He groaned as he kicked off some aquatic creature from his boot. He pulled out his map and studied it closely. He had no idea which part of the territory belonged to monsters and which one to Mewmans. How was he not good enough to get a ride to his destination? Did one have to be a soldier in order to get a little respect in the kingdom? Why, without him and his scholarly knowledge, his village would be left-
 Shink!
“……” Hue stared in disbelief at the spear that not only shot through his map, but went straight through his chest. He gave a watery gasp as he watched helplessly at the red stain growing over his shirt. He tried to speak up, give some sort of vocal protest over having been slain in such a way, but his body collapsed and shut down before he could get a word out.
  ___
“This string bean is what you stalked after for the last half hour?”
Globgor was clearly unimpressed as Tigre, the red, bipedal tiger monster with blue stripes, walked over to the hunted Mewman and retrieved his spear. “I mean, look at how thin he is! That’s not going to feed our soldiers and their families!”
“Hey, more meat is more meat,” Tigre retorted. He spoke with an accent similar to Globgor’s, and matched him in terms of height and build. He bound the Mewman’s ankles with rope so he could drag him back to the village.
Globgor smirked and looked back at the much larger game, which he was also dragging along. “Everyone back home is hungry. Your little entre just made them have to wait longer. My game is more than enough!”
Tigre rolled his eyes, but smiled regardless. “Yeah, that’s why you came to my house begging me to go hunting with you, right?”
Globgor smacked him on the head with his tail. “I do not beg. I said an extra pair of hands would be helpful. That’s it!”
“I’m pretty sure you threw in a ‘please’ in there somewhere.”
This banter continued until they got home and delivered their Mewmans. The chefs and cooks took them gratefully, and got ready to prepare them along with the other hunted trespassers.
“Can you believe your idea has completely changed the menu for monsters?” Tigre gave the Size-Shifter a playful shove on the shoulder. “Not only are Mewman numbers going down, but our resources are completely stocked!”
Globgor raised his left eyebrows. “Do I hear an actual compliment coming from you?”
His friend shrugged and pointed to a few adult monsters giving the Size-Shifter admiring glances. “I may as well join the crowd. You’ve gained a lot of respect over the past year, and your size changing powers haven’t even kicked in yet!”
“Um, my growing abilities haven’t kicked in, you mean. I can still shrink to the size of an ant!”
“Right. Impressive,” the other said with an eye roll.
“It is impressive! You’d be surprised how much you can do when nobody can see you!”
Tigre shrugged. “Maybe, but monsters won’t be able to look up to you if they have to look down at you, y’know?”
“…..” Globgor folded his arms behind his head and tried to hide a smile. “…I don’t’ care if the other monsters look up to me or not. I’m just here to do my part.”
“Oh Globgor, you’re so noble.” Tigre mocked while batting his eyes at him.
 “I mean, I’m not saying I don’t like it-“
“-Which is why it’s going to suck when I grow stronger than you, and I become the hero of monsters!” Tigre goaded while jutting the other with his elbow.
Globgor smiled at the challenge. “Haha, right. Didn’t we just discuss how one day I’m going to grow to the size of a giant?”
“Well, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.”
 “Oh yeah?”
 “Yeah!”
Their grins grew as their eyes narrowed at each other. Nothing else needed to be said. They knew what came next.
The stiffed their stances, posing as if they were getting ready to square off. Then they both threw their tails out and latched on to the other’s. They grit their teeth as they proceeded to wrestle with their tails, gearing to dominate the other with their strength.
“Give it up, Tigre! Even if I don’t beat you today, one day I’ll be able to grow my tail and snap yours in half!”
“Oh yeah? And what if you never learn how to grow? Have you considered that?”
“Of course I will! All Size-Shifters learn once they go through puberty!”
“How do you know? The only source you have for Size-Shifters was an old guy who-“
Both monsters paused their battle. Globgor looked away, a perplexed look on his face.
Tigre loosed his grip, his ears flattening against his head. “Oh hey man, I didn’t mean-“
The boy’s words were cut off as Globgor suddenly tightened his grip on the other’s tail and flipped him over on his rump. Before he could get back up, the other boy placed a three-toed foot firmly on his chest.
“You’ll never get stronger if you let your guard down like that.”
“Oh come on, Globgor. You have to admit that was a little underhanded!”
Both boys looked up to see a girl with a purple cloak pulled over her head. Her face was green and she had red speckles across her face. Her eyes were chastising, but she was smiling nonetheless.
Tigre allowed Globgor to help him to his feet while he inspected the girl. “That’s right. ‘Ol Glob-Glob isn’t as valiant as he looks at first.” He looked over at the monster in question “What gives, man? I thought I was the only friend you had in the village.”
Globgor shrugged. “I don’t know this girl.”
“I’m from a village not too far from here!” the girl said, a sneaky smile on her face. “I heard about the super awesome Globgor and came to see for myself!”
Tigre raised an eyebrow at the bewildered Size-Shifter. “That right?”
“You’ve….heard about me?” If he was being honest, the news was flattering. He approached the girl with a confident expression. “Um, mind telling me what you heard?”
The girl giggled. “I’ve heard that you’re very strong and loyal to your people! You work very hard each and every day! In fact, the only thing that can break that iron wall you keep around yourself is a sweet, chocolatey snookers bar!”
 …..
Globgor’s smile disappeared. He felt his stomach drop as he inspected the face of the stranger closer. He could practically feel the color drain from his face once he realized that the green in the girl’s face wasn’t skin, but paint….
No. Surely not. Even she wasn’t this stupid.
The girl smiled again and gave him a small wave. “Hi Globby!”
 CRAP!
 “Y-You…!”
Behind him, Tigre released a resounding laugh. “Dude, did she just call you ‘Globby’? Ha! I need to remember that one! It’s so cute!”
Globgor pushed down his indignation as he tightly grabbed on to the girl’s shoulders. “Um, I’ll be right back! The girl and I need to have a talk.” In a flash, the monster dragged the stranger through the village to a secluded place behind a house. Immediately he slammed her against the wall, his four eyes glaring daggers at the imposter.
“Are you out of your mind?!!” He yelled as loud as he dared lest someone heard him.
The girl pouted at him. “I thought you’d be happy to see me!”
“Why on mewni would you think that, Eclipsa?!” He covered his mouth once he realized he said her name. He looked around, making sure no one had heard him. Oh, he couldn’t imagine what would happen if everyone found out the Mewman princess among them. No doubt she’d be killed or captured in ten seconds flat.
He glared at the girl. “We agreed to meet this Friday! Last time I checked, it wasn’t Friday!!”
“But I wanted to see you now.” Eclipsa insisted. “I’m so lonely back at the Butterfly Castle.”
Globgor gave her a mocking pout. “Oh. Is the poor princess bored?” He glared at her, baring his fangs. “Well, we’re hungry, cold, sleep-deprived, and above all, scared! So excuse me if I’m a little less than sympathetic!”
Eclipsa frowned at him before her bottom lip began to quiver. She turned around so that she wasn’t facing him. “You don’t have to make me feel bad. I know you work very hard. It’s just…you’re the only friend I have.”
“That’s sad, but not in the way you’re thinking.” The boy groaned as he noticed the tears appearing in the other’s eyes. “Oh come on now, don’t start crying.”
“I’m not…” she mumbled, wiping at her eyes.
Globgor dragged his hands down his face with an exaggerated sigh. “Look, I’m sorry for yelling at you, but what you’ve done is incredibly dangerous for both of us!”
The boy didn’t notice the satisfied smile that appeared on the girl’s face as the boy caved in to her crocodile tears. She turned back to him with a soft smile. “But you actually know me, and you didn’t recognize me! Look, I have my cheek marks covered! No one will know it’s me!” She shrugged. “Besides, even if they do find out, they should be okay with me since they like you and I’m your friend!”
Globgor rubbed his lower eyes in exhaustion. “Eclipsa, you don’t know how wrong you are.”
Eclipsa looked hurt. “You’re not my friend?”
“Of course I’m your friend! I wouldn’t be risking my neck to hang out with you if I wasn’t!” He gave her a hard stare. “But there’s no way I can choose you over them. I promised to be there for my people. If you get found out, I don’t know what I can do to protect you.”
Eclipsa smiled and grabbed his hands. “Don’t worry, it won’t come to that!”
 “Won’t come to what?”
The two children looked to the side to see a young pink cat monster walking up to them with a basket in her paws. She looked between the two with wide, blue eyes.
“P-Puma!” Globgor squeaked, putting a little space between him and Eclipsa. “Um…we were just…uh…”
“How do you do?” Puma seemed to have forgotten her question as made her way over to the disguised princess, causing Globgor to stiffen with fear. “Have we met before?”
Eclipsa smiled and shook her head. “No, I’m from a different village. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Puma!”
The feline gasped as she look at Globgor in surprise. “Oh my goodness! This visitor knows my name! I feel so special!”
“Puma, I just said what your name i-“
“I made muffins filled with nuts!” Puma turned back to the girl and held up her basket. “I’ve been passing them out to villagers! Would you like one?”
“Thank you!” Eclipsa took one and took a bite. It certainly wasn’t as sweet as treats back at the castle, but that didn’t make it necessarily bad. It was warm and had a sort of comforting clasp on her taste buds. “Mmm! Tasty!”
“That’s so nice of you to say!” Puma said, placing a paw to her chest.
Eclipsa gave her a bright smile. She was doing her best to play natural, but inside she was brimming with excitement. She had just received a gift from a monster! She was having a polite conversation with one! This was something most Mewmans said was impossible. Why wasn’t it something more people tried to do?
She was interrupted from her thoughts as Globgor suddenly came up behind her and began to push her away. “Well, thanks for the snack Puma, but she really has to go now! We’ll have to catch you later!”
“Already? She just got here,” Tigre said, suddenly approaching the two while giving Eclipsa a skeptical look.
Globgor waved a hand. “Yes, but it’s a long way back to her village, and she needs to get back before dark!”
“How do you know?” Tigre asked.
“I just know! What’s with all the questions?!”
“Why are you acting so skittish?”
Eclipsa bit her lower lip as she watched the boys argue. Shoot. She hadn’t meant to get Globgor so riled up. Why couldn’t he just relax? She wasn’t afraid, so he shouldn’t be either.
She ginned widely as she looked at the monsters roaming around in all different shapes and sizes. Well, okay maybe she wasn’t feeling relaxed. Rather, she was itching to go around and see what she could. She had never seen so many monsters in her life. She was surprised by how….normal they seemed. Oh sure, they looked nothing like her kind, but she could see a mother with her baby, two boys rough-housing nearby, and a woman tending her garden. These were all things she could easily see by looking out a window back at the castle. Who knew the two races partook in every days that were parallel to each other’s?
Unable to help herself, Eclipsa rushed out into the streets, wanting to get a better look.
“Look, I swear I don’t know this girl!” Globgor promised, throwing his arms up at the two feline siblings. “But you know I tend to make it my responsibly to look after my fellow monsters. That’s why I want to get her home before it becomes too late to get her to safety! I just want to make sure she’s safe!” He turned around….to see that the girl was no longer beside him.
 …..
“I’m gonna kill her!!!” he roared.
 ___
Eclipsa was unable to keep the smile off her face as she made her way through the town of monsters. It was so surreal! Sure, there was a rough-looking guy here and there, but everyone else seemed so friendly! Every time she waved to someone, they would smile and wave back. It was all so amazing!
As well as….confusing. Her mom had always said the only thing a monster could feel was greed and bloodlust. So, why did these monsters act so much like Mewmans? They played together, talked together, did business together….
A sudden thought occurred to the princess. Stopping in her tracks, she closed her eyes and listened to the sounds around her. She paid no mind to her eyesight and decided to rely entirely on her ears.
 ……
“…..Hey Mom, is it okay if Gingy stays a little longer?”
“-on my mother’s grave, the fish was THIS big! If I had a stronger net, I would be a hero right-“
“-found this tea that will go perfectly with that salad you put together-“
“-don’t want to go yet, Daddy! Just five more min-“
 “-has your eyes!”
 “-love your shoes!”
 “-see you tomorrow!”
 …..
 ….!
Eclipsa was floored. In her mind, she wasn’t currently in a village filled with monsters. Rather, she was back at home, walking among her own kind. Nothing she was hearing could make her see differently! This didn’t make any sense. If everyone hated each other so much, why were they-
Her eyes flew open as she was suddenly struck with a ball to the face. She fell over, groaning a bit as stars flew over her head. Luckily she had enough sense in her to keep her hood on, lest anyone see her Mewman hair.
 “Oh, sorry about that!”
Eclipsa sat up to see three different monsters-a lizard girl, a frog boy, and some red one-eyed thing-look at her with concern.
“I didn’t mean to hit you! I guess I don’t know my own strength sometimes!” the lizard girl said with a sheepish grin.
“I told her Suzie she was going to wind up hitting someone!” the frog boy hugged.
“Oh, get off my back, Todd!”
“Hey, it’s okay, really!” Eclipsa stood up, holding the ball in her hands. “No harm done! What were you guys playing anyway?”
“Just a little game of pass-along,” the red kid said.
“’Pass-along’? Are you kidding? We have that game back at the ca-I mean, my village!”
“No kidding?” Suzie said with a laugh. “Well heck, up for a round? The game is more fun with four players anyway!”
 “Can I?!” Eclipsa practically jumped.
 “Yeah, come on! Over here!”
Eclipsa gleefully joined the three monsters and formed a circle with them. It was a pretty lazy game where all you did was put your fists together and pass the ball to other members by hitting it. If you tried to pass it to someone and they missed, they were the ‘loser’ and had to sit out for the remainder of the round. Despite the simplicity, the princess was overjoyed to be playing with a group of kids her age. It’s something she had been wanting for a very long time.
They all seemed to be enjoying themselves as they passed the ball to each other, doing an excellent job at keeping it in the air. As it turned out, the red monster was the first one to miss the ball.
 Then things got awkward.
“Oooh! You’re out, Fred!” Todd said, pointing at said monster.
Suzie giggled as she tightened the circle of the group and grabbed the ball. “You’re the rotten Mewman, Fred! Park yourself off to the side so we can continue!”
“…” Eclipsa lowered her hands as she felt her joy diminish by the monster’s words. “…’Rotten Mewman’?”
Suzie shrugged. “Yeah, you know, the loser? Do they not have that in your village?”
“Um…” Eclipsa looked off to the side, not knowing how to respond to the girl’s words. “Well…that’s kind of mean, don’t you think?”
“Oh, don’t worry about it!” Fred said with a wave. “It’s just a game. I don’t mind being called a Mewman.”
“Can’t we play this game without insulting Mewmans though?”
 The children went silent.
Suzie was the first to speak, cutting the air with a laugh of disbelief. “You’re kidding, right? Why shouldn’t we insult them? That’s the least they deserve after all they’ve done to us!”
Eclipsa’s heart sank. “I…don’t think that’s entirely fair. I mean, monsters have hurt them too-“
“Oh my gosh, are you actually defending them?” Todd said, backing away with the other two kids.
“But it’s true! Monsters have hurt Mewmans too!”
“Because Mewmans started it!” Suzie said, stomping her foot. “Monsters were here on Mewni first, and Mewmans forced them to leave their homes!”
“Monsters didn’t stand a chance!” Fred added. “They had magic and we didn’t!”
“They took our land, so now we’re barely scraping by with our food!” Todd said, clenching his fists tightly. “And they won’t rest until they’ve stolen every inch of land and killed us all!”
“That’s not true!” Eclipsa said, genuine tears starting to rise in her eyes.
“Oh no? You can seriously look at Solaria and say that’s not what she’s doing?” Suzie demanded.
Eclipsa opened her mouth to deny the claims….but stopped. Her mind went over the times she had caught her mother making battle plans with the High Commission. All the red circles she would scribble over the map…..She had always known that that those were lands her mother had planned to conquer, but….she’d never thought of them as people’s homes.
Of course she knew that monsters had inhabited Mewni first, but….they were….evil….No. They were just like Mewmans. She saw that today. So…if the Mewmans misunderstood the monster’s intentions from the beginning….
….did that mean that the war was all the Mewmans fault?
Eclipsa felt glued to the ground as the monster children decided to leave her, muttering that they didn’t want to play with a Mewman-sympathizer. She gripped her arms tightly, suddenly feeling very cold. It was like a veil had been lifted from her eyes. All her life she thought it was the monsters attacking and causing Mewmans to fight back with a vengeance. Causing her mom to fight.
Now so many pieces were starting to connect.
Her pupils shook as she took a second look around at the monsters inhabiting the village. She had been wrong before. There was one key difference between the two races.
There weren’t any Mewmans shivering on the sidewalk.
There weren’t any injured Mewmans sitting nearby without any bandages.
There weren’t Mewmans moving off to the side so they could vomit in peace.
The Mewmans didn’t eat the tiniest portions of food she had ever seen in her life.
The Mewmans weren’t living in broken houses.
The Mewmans weren’t suffering like the monsters were.
 That…..that wasn’t fair.
 No…
 The bad guys….were the Mewmans.
Eclipsa covered her mouth as she sat down on a bench resting nearby. Had the signs always been there? Had she just ignored them? Sure, she actively tried to not pay attention to the war, but never would she have guessed that it was her own people who were causing all the misery in Mewni. Her poor mother. She probably had no idea how screwed up everything was. She needed to say something. She had to tell her people that the monsters weren’t that different from them after all.
….But how could she do that without revealing she had been in monster territory? What if the High Commission found out? What if her mother did? They’d lock her away for the rest of her life! Worse, she’d may be unable to see Globgor ever again! What could be a more tragic fate than that?
No, she’d have to find another way to help the monsters. A discrete way. Maybe with Globgor’s help. He could be her connection to the monster world. She’d think of ways to make up for the carnage. She just wished there was something she could do right now to help them a little….
 ….
As if the Stump itself decided to answer her prayers, her mauve eyes landed on an abandoned guitar sitting nearby.
  ___
“-rip her stupid spades off then use them as a sleeping mask!” Globgor was in a foul mood to say the least. He had spent the better half of an hour trying to find his so-called friend before she did something to get herself killed. Did that girl ever think? Like, ever? Why was it she never took potential threats seriously? Did she really think she was immune to the deep-seeded hatred between their races?
He was about to take another search around the block, when he bumped into a random monster. He was about to apologize when he noticed that many monsters were headed in the same direction he was. In fact, he was the only one heading in the opposite direction. Where was everyone going?
His ears pricked up at the faint sound of….singing? Who was singing? Nobody in his village sang as far he knew. He turned in the direction of the noise, furrowing his brow in concentration.
“Dreams to dream. In the dark of the night, when the world goes wrong, I can still make it right. I can see so far in my dreams. I’ll follow my dreams until they come true~.”
…..Okay, Globgor had little to no experience with music, but this was the most melodic sound he’d ever heard in his life. He turned around and followed the rest of the monsters who were crowded around the source of the magical sound. He took the opportunity to shrink to a miniscule size so he could squeeze past the others. Once he reached the front, he returned to his normal size, his widened at the sight before him.
Eclipsa was sitting a bench with a guitar, singing to her captivated monster audience.
“Come with me. You will see what I mean. There’s a world inside no one else ever sees. You will go so far in my dreams. Somewhere in my dreams, your dreams will come true~.”
….How….what….Eclipsa could sing?! And play guitar?! Like really really good?! Like, he could feel her voice working as some sort of balm over his aching muscles. He had never heard a sound so pleasing to his ears before. Before he knew what he was doing, he closed his eyes so he could concentrate more on her voice.
“There is a star waiting to guide us waiting to guide us, shining inside us, when we close our eyes~!”
Globgor gasped as his friend hit a high note at the end. It sent shivers down his spine.
“Don’t let go! If you stay close to me in my dreams tonight, you will see what I see. Dreams to dream, as near as can be, inside you and me, they always come true~.”
Globgor opened his eyes as his village applauded the stranger’s song, clearly having enjoyed someone taking the time to give them a show. He watched as the princess stood up, giving a little bow.
It was only when their eyes locked did he realize that tears had appeared in his eyes.
  ___
“I’m telling you, I just got some dirt in my eyes!”
 “All four of them?”
 “It happens!”
Eclipsa pushed his shoulder, giggling to herself as she made her way through the forest fauna. “Why is it so hard for you to admit your more sensitive feelings?”
Globgor grumbled and crossed his arms over his chest. “Look, I already admitted you have talent. What more do you want from me?”
Eclipsa’s smile softened as her eyes became downcast. “Well…next time we meet, I’m going to do better than a song. I’ll bring you some food and stuff to give to your people. I want to do what I can to help them. That’s all I can do right now until I’m queen.”
“……” Globgor cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck. “….Thanks Eclipsa. That means a lot to me.” His face became uncharistically soft as he looked her up and down. “Are you uh….okay?”
She nodded despite the sad smile on her face. “Yeah….I guess I just didn’t want to believe you about my people. I can’t believe we’re the bad guys. We’re really awful people. I mean, I know you told me this already, but I just thought you were being a jerk. I had no idea our living conditions were so different.”
“…..I mean, you’re not a bad person.” Globgor said, giving a careless shrug. “So…I guess as long as there’s one good Mewman, there should be hope for the rest of your people….maybe.”
Eclipsa grinned and mimed the action of playing a guitar. “You know, everyone seemed to really like my singing. Maybe I could come back some time and-“
“NO.” Globgor caught the girl with his tail so that he could stop her from walking. He turned her so she could see his eyes digging into her. “Eclipsa, you can never pull what you did today ever again. Do you understand?”
 “But everyone loved me!”
“Because they thought you were a monster! It doesn’t matter how kind you are to them, or how nicely you sing, if they find out you’re a Mewman, you. Will. Be. Killed.” He groaned and ran his fingers through his light-pink curls. “I have enough on my plate as it is, I don’t need to add worrying about you on top of everything else!”
“….” Eclipsa gave a small shrug. “It’s okay. I can look out for myself.”
“Of course I’m going to look out for you!” Globgor said in exasperation. “I don’t want to lose you!”
 ……
After a pregnant pause, Globgor squinted his eyes at the girl in a threatening manner. “I hate you for making me say that.”
Eclipsa’s cheeks lit up as she heavily blushed. “Oh, you!” She turned to face him. “Thanks for showing me what monsters are really like, Globgor.” She then stood on her tip toes and kissed him on the cheek.
As expected, the boy shot back like she had just bit him. “H-Hey! W-What are you doing?!”
Eclipsa giggled and raised a digit. “You’ll never get stronger if you let your guard down like that!” She gave him a wink before heading in the direction back to the castle.
“…..” Globgor shifted in indignation. “If you ever call me Globby again, I’ll bite your face off!” he called.
 “No you won’t!”
 “Well….I’ll want to!”
He watched her until she was out of his sight. Once she was gone, he gently touched the spot she had kissed. No one had ever done that to him before. His first instinct was to scrub the spot clean, but he ultimately decided against it
 …..
Geez, why did he keep getting the suspect feeling this girl was going to get him into a lot of trouble?
And why did he feel so okay with that?
*Song is Dreams to Dream from Fieval Goes West. You can find it on Youtube. Make sure to listen to Tanya’s version!
I want to start by reassuring you guys I’m not going to make this story as simple as ‘monsters good/Mewmans bad’. The fault in monsters is going to be covered in later chapters. I believe it’s important for Eclipsa to be the first one to realize that her race isn’t as innocent as she was raised to believe. After all, I imagine her to be the more open-hearted one, not really wanting to be enemies with anyone. It would be a lot easier for her to let go of any prejudices she had than it would be for Globgor, who’s actively involved in defeating the Mewmans.
Now, let me explain why I needed to use a song for this chapter. I don’t know if anyone else notices this, but Globgor always seemed entranced whenever he heard Eclipsa sing during the show. He always stood and watched before he joined in harmony. This causes me to believe he adores his wife’s singing voice. Therefore, I needed the first time he heard her sing to be nothing short of magic. I didn’t feel like I could really capture by just saying Eclipsa ‘sang really good’. I needed a song to refer to. I really didn’t want to, but I’m not creative enough to come up with my own song! On top of that, I was crazy about this song as a kid, and I still find it to be a sweet tune to this day. I hope you guys are okay with how I handled the moment and will forgive me for pretty much making this chapter a ‘songfic’ one.
Another time-skip will happen in the next chapter. And we’re going to cover a topic that I know a lot of you have been eager for.

Surprise
Taken after Star returns to Earth and meets the new Diaz, Mariposa and Star and Tom breaking up.
What you are about to read will make you laugh and squeal.
----
That was fun, Toshi thought.
Returning to Echo Creek, his second home that he grew up in for four years with his mom, was like a reunion of loved ones.
His father is at the house trying to house train his raptors after he, his dad, Marco and Star rescued them from the auction in Crimetopia, a dimension where criminals ruled, at a moment before he joined them. He would probably wonder if any of the neighbors would report seeing a pack of living, breathing raptors in the backyard.
Dad can handle that, he reassured himself.
What surprises the trio was when Marco's parents introduced the new member of their family. Marco's baby sibling, which was revealed to be a girl instead of a boy, named Mariposa.
He had to admit, it is a pretty name considering that it means 'butterfly' in Spanish, just like her sister figure, Star. Toshi and his mom has taken a liking to the little Diaz, making his mom tell embarassing stories of him when he was a little lizard to his friends and the family.
To make it worst, she brought the family photo album and showed them his childhood photos. Through the rest of the time, he had his face planted on the table and groaned like a zombie.
"Well, that's mothers, Shirogane," his father once told him, laughing. Then karma hit him when Mint began to show everyone HIS photos of the time he was a teenager. The moment she begins to tell his story, surprising everyone that Toffee was a rebellious kid when he was Toshi's age, he joined Toshi's zombie groaning.
"Like father, like son," Mint chuckled at their embarassment.
In the meantime, he recalled from Star that she and Tom have finally broke up and decided to stay friends. He felt awful for the both of them, reassuring both Tom and Star that it takes time to heal and his new friend thanked him for his advise. He even tells him that if he were to meet a girl who would catch his eye, he just have to wait and see if his heart would beat for her.
"Isn't that a lizard thing?" He once asked Toshi.
"Lizards will have the urge of mating if they see a girl they like," he answered, "But we have to keep ourselves together or we'll make big fools out of ourselves."
"Unlike your parents?"
"Mom and Dad never said they had the mating urge when they first met each other in their teens."
After bidding farewell to the demon, Toshi prayed that he will find someone special. As he lends a shoulder for Star to cry on.
----
It was night time and the teens were returning home after having tacos at the taco stand. Toshi suggested himself bringing them over to his favorite Japanese joint called Nippon Daisuki, wanting them to try real authentic Japanese food like how he introduced his father to the place right when he asked on going on a little father-son bonding adventure to Crimetopia.
"Guys, I have an announcement to make," he called out.
"Go on," they urged.
"Guess what date is today," he grinned, putting his hands behind the back of his head.
"Its 14th of April so....," Marco answered before Star gasped in delight, "It's your birthday!!"
"Yep, I'm now 17 you guys," he grinned.
"But you look like you're 15," her comment made them laugh, remembering the first time they met and became the closest of friends that day.
"We need to celebrate, dude!" Marco suggested, "Well, we already had tacos so that's out of the celebration list."
"Maybe I can introduce you to my joint where I can clear my mind," Toshi suggested, putting a hand on the doorknob to his house, "I hope you don't mind wasabi."
"What's wasabi?" Star asked as they enter.
"A root of the gnarliest stuff in Japan," he explained, "So gnarly, it'll clear your nose of any boogers!"
This made the Mewman girl 'ooh' in awe. The living room is littered with The Seven Deadly Sins, the name the Mewman soldiers picked during the war for the raptors' names and personalities, roosting around and curious about some things. His dad didn't plan on turning them into house raptors, but he does know that he would let them out of the house for them to roam.
"Toshi?" Marco spoke out as they head upstairs to his room.
"Hmm?"
"How do you feel about being a big brother?"
He froze to a stop, mid-step, "Beg your pardon?"
"Toshi, I've always thought I'm going to be the only child in the family," his friend confessed, "But when I found out I'm going to be a brother, I was at first stumped. But when Mariposa came, I....decided that will be my responsibility as her brother."
The friends didn't know that the young lizard was pondering at that thought about having a sibling. Sure, he and Marco are the same on being the only children in the family. But when he heard the news of his mom being pregnant, he was stunned out of belief.
The very thought of becoming a big brother is....unexpectedly great if you're younger. Becoming a big brother at the age of 14 is unexpecteded and shocking at first..but exciting when he learns to love his younger sibling.
"If I ever become a big brother, I would jump out of the window," he answered.
They paused at his answer. And burst into laughter while they continue to climb up the staircase until they reached the top.
"Seriously guys, I will jump out of the window if that ever happens," he said in a deadpanned serious tone after they stop laughing.
"You're serious?" Star gaped, wide-eyed.
"I'm dead serious."
They perked out of their seriousness when they noticed Toshi's mom sitting on his bed, looking pretty nervous with a sheepish smile on her face. They thought she must have trouble with the raptors pooping in the backyard or eating the neighbors' pets when they approached her but she spoke out, "Hey kids, how is....everything?"
"Uh, Mom...?" Toshi spoke as he, Marco and Star got in front of her, "Is...everything okay? Did Dad's raptors cause trouble?"
She shook her head, much to his relief.
"Hey, Mint, guess what?" Star tried to sound cheery, "Toshi's turning 17 today."
"Even though he looks like he's 15," Marco added with a wary chuckle.
Mint nodded in gratefulness and rose up to her level, "Well...to make it easier for you three to hear, I have an annoucement to make."
They looked at each other. What kind of annoucement is she going to make that makes this moment suspenseful?
She cleared her throat, beginning to pace around the bedroom while twiddling her fingers, "I heard you three talking to each other about siblings. And did I hear it right that Toshi wants to jump out of the window?"
The trio blurted out, all them declining and laughing nervously that its just euphanism or just a figure of speech. She sighed in relief and halts her pacing, stopping before them, her sheepish smile widening into a joyful yet sheepish grin.
"Happy Birthday, Toshi," she congratulated, "You're going to be a big brother."
The news was something that caught them of guard. They were so quiet from the shock, you can hear a pin drop.
And the moments of silence was broken when Marco crashed through the nearby window, shattering glass in the process. They heard him grunt in pain followed by another from the ground floor.
"I'm okay!" Marco called out, "Toffee broke my fall!!"
"Owwwwwwwwwwww!!" Was Toffee's moan of pain.
The blonde girl giggled hysterically for a short while from the news, "You're not pulling our legs right? You're not...! Right!?"
"You're PREGNANT!? How did this happen!? How long have you not told me this!? Were you pregnant the whole time after we came back from Mewni!? Does Dad know about this!?" Toshi babbled, the surprise to much for him.
She sheepishly nodded. Just as he and Star laughed heartily before they fell on their backs with loud thuds. They have fainted from the news.
"Huh? I was expecting something similar to Toffee's reaction," she hummed at their fainted bodies.
"You think!?" Toffee called out, his voice strained from the pain after Marco landed on him, "Now help me get this boy of me!"
She sighed, rubbing her belly that bears Toshi's new sibling. She shouts out that she's coming, still rubbing her belly, and headed downstairs.
---
Hey guys!! I always think about Toshi being a big brother just like Marco after I watched Gone Baby Gone.
What gender shall his new sibling be? A boy or a girl? Who knows after it's born.
Right, @lynea-kureji and @julayla ?

“Hold still, sweetie!” Lily commanded softly, struggling to put the backpack on her daughter's back, Violet jumping around so much it was becoming nearly impossible. But the young girl was too excited to listen, as she continued to squirm. She had waited her whole life for this day and it seemed the anticipation was proving too much for her to handle as her thoughts ran wildly out of control. Today was the day she was going to finally meet a real life Monster! “Violet if you don't behave I won't allow you to go with Marco and Star,” her mother reprimanded.
The girl instantly stilled, allowing her mother to finish, though she did comment impatiently, “Come on, mom! Hurry up, I want to get going!”
Lily ignored her daughter's whining voice, as she looked over to her other child, who sat on her bed, unmoving, hugging a pillow to her chest. “Daisy, you should hurry up and get ready, Star and Marco will be here soon,” she said patiently.
Daisy frowned, asking softly, “Do I have to go?”
Lily stood and walked over to her peach-haired daughter, cupping her cheek in her hand as she stared into her nervous eyes. “Daisy, Marco was nice enough to offer to take you with him while he's visiting his family today, don't you think it is only right to be grateful to him?”
Daisy nodded slowly, though the hesitancy was still hidden behind her eyes. She looked up at her mom again, saying worriedly, “But what if the Monster's try and eat me or-”
“Sweetie,” her mother interrupted her, her voice low and soothing. “Do you think I would let you go if I thought it was dangerous?” Daisy shook her head, squeezing her pillow tighter. “Do you think Marco or Star would take you if they thought there was even a chance you could get hurt?” The girl's lip quivered as she shook her head again. “Than don't you think that maybe you can trust us to know what is best for you?”
The girl didn't reply at first, her eyes just roaming around the room for a few seconds, before she answered, in a voice barely above a whisper, “Yeah, I guess.”
“Good girl,” Lily said, giving her daughter a quick peck on the forehead. “Now why don't you help me and Violet finish packing?”
The girl's face brightened some, as she took her mom's hand and stood up from the bed, helping stuff the rest of their supplies into her purple, flower print backpack. “Mom, can we take a few snooker's bars with us?” Violet asked, holding out a couple of the candy bars for her mom to see.
Her mother eyed them for a moment, thinking it over, before saying, “I'm not sure if allowing you two sugar on your trip is a good idea.”
“Aww, but mom-” Violet started to whine, when there was a knock at the door.
“Come in,” Lily said automatically and the door opened to reveal Star and Marco, with smiling faces, holding each others hands tight.
“Big brother!” Daisy screamed, running over to hug the boy. Even though she was still afraid, she couldn't help but feel joyful seeing her honorary brother. She threw her arms around him and he released Star's hand to hug her tightly back.
“Hey!” he greeted, equally cheerfully. “Are you two excited to meet my family?”
“Yeah!” Violet screamed, pumping a fist in the air, while Daisy visibly tensed but kept her mouth shut.
“Well, we better start heading out then,” Star said, her voice shaking some with the anticipation of the adventure that awaited them. She hadn't been out of the castle in days, save for the ordeal at Fang Tang's a few days ago, but the less said about that the better. She could really use a break from all the hard, mentally draining work she had been doing. And since her commission was finally set up and ready to have it's first meeting in less than a week, she figured now would be as good a time as any to get away from it all. And a trip with her boyfriend, cousins and the Monsters didn't sound like a bad thing at all. She just hoped she could maybe sneak some alone time with the boy, later on. The two hadn't even been able to watch the sunset like they usually did in weeks and she was starting to become starved for some extra attention from her bestie.
“Okay!” Violet screamed, not even bothering to wait, as she ran out of the room, shouting over her shoulder, “Bye mom, see you tonight!”
Lily sighed as she watched her daughter run out of the room, Star following after her to keep an eye on her. She then turned to the hooded teen, who was still being squeezed by her older daughter. “Thank you for offering to take them with you, Marco. I know those two can be a bit of a handful,” Lily thanked him warmly.
Marco shook his head replying, “Oh, it's no trouble. I love spending time with them and Star's coming with, so we shouldn't have any problem taking care of them.”
“Well still, I think it is very sweet of you to do this for them. I know Violet is excited.”
Marco looked down at Daisy, who still had him in a death grip, burying her head in Marco's hood. “What about you, Daisy? You seem upset.”
“Oh she's just a little nervous about meeting the Monsters is all,” Lily said honestly.
Marco frowned and looked down at the girl, saying reassuringly, “There's nothing to be worried about Daisy. My family is really nice. You'll like them, I promise!”
The girl didn't respond and the boy gave her a sad look. He didn't want her to be afraid, least of all of his family. Maybe once she got there and actually met them she would feel better and be more comfortable around them. But part of him considered leaving her here, not wanting to frighten her more than she already was. Lily seemed to be able to tell what the boy was thinking, as she walked closer holding the sealed backpack, telling him, “She'll be fine, Marco. She is going have to face this fear eventually. The world is changing and she needs to be able to face the Monsters, since I have a feeling that they're alliance with us will only grow stronger with time.”
“I hope so,” Marco admitted softly. It was wishful thinking, but one he would welcomingly believe.
Lily bent down and put the backpack over her daughter's shoulders, the girl turning when she was done and giving her mother a quick hug. She moved so her head was buried in her mother's shoulder, hiding her gaze from her mom's watchful eye, whispering quite enough that Marco couldn't hear, “Please don't make me go.”
Lily pulled out of the hug, giving her daughter a soft smile. She said nothing as she gently brushed the bangs out of her eyes. Her look told her that she was doing this for her own good, but it did nothing to still Daisy's fears any. She reluctantly took her big brother's hand and let herself be led out of her room.
“I'm telling you the flowers should go over there!” Beard Deer's loud yell echoed through the treetops and nearly caused the now completed Diaz home to rattle. He jabbing a finger in the desired direction, a spot of cleared ground on the side of the house waiting to be utilized to help bring life to the empty yard. But it seemed the Monsters were all having trouble agreeing on what the best course of action for that would be, none of them exactly expert exterior decorators, causing bitter feelings and arguments to break out often.
“Well if we put them there, where am I supposed to put the lawn gnomes?” Bearicorn argued back, holding up the the three eyed ceramic gnome to the angry second-in-command.
“Nowhere,” Beard Deer countered forcefully, the look in his eyes strong enough to make the flowers wilt. “Those things are creepy, you want to scare Marco every time he comes over!”
“But without them, then our garden won't be safe from demon bunnies!”
“You really believe that nonsense, that's just a dumb myth!” Beard Deer spat irritably.
“Oh yeah well tell that to my great-grandbear who got eaten by one of those things!” Bearicorn shouted, before he got a sad look on his face at the unhappy memory.
“Um, Beard Deer?” Spike Balls spoke up and the Monster in charge huffed, before whipping his head around to snap, “What?!”
The large Monster held out a cactus, which was held delicately in his oversized hands. “Where should I put this?”
The two Monsters eyes widened at the dangerous plant. “Where did you get that?” Bearicorn asked nervously.
“You asked me to buy one at one of the Earth vendors,” Spike Balls explained.
Beard Deer face-palmed. “I said carnations, you idiot, not cactus!”
“Oh,” Spike Balls said sheepishly.
“Great, what are we supposed to do with this?” Beard Deer growled in frustration. He swore these morons were going to make him lose his mind.
“Welllll at least we got the cornflower seeds like you asked,” one of the two-headed Monster's head cautiously uttered.
“Uhhh,” the other head interrupted, showing him the empty bag, a small rip in the bottom. Behind them, Big Chicken was pecking away at the scattered seeds like there was no tomorrow.
Beard Deer now looked ready to explode with anger, his teeth grating together painfully and the other Monsters took a wary step back, ready for him to snap. But just as his mouth opened to scream another biting comment, a claw landed on his shoulder and he turned to see Buff Frog with a calm and levelheaded look, Boo Fly perched on his shoulder. “Please, all of you, enough arguing. Marco be here soon and he bring guests,” he said and the others all got excited looks on their faces at that thought. Buff Frog had his own smile on his face, as he added, “Must be on best behavior and not fight in front of Marco.”
The others all nodded and quickly began to scatter to finish preparations for his arrival. They wanted the reveal of the finished house to be a momentous occasion for their young family member and needed everything to be perfect for when he got there. Buff Frog gave Beard Deer a pat on the shoulder before firmly stating, “I will oversee things from here.”
The deer Monster saluted, not daring to argue with his leader. From there, the amphibian oversaw all the last bit of finishing touches for his home, directing his Monsters where needed and getting things done in record time. Buff Frog was just admiring the finished work when a voice from above asked, “Uhh, boss where do you want this?” Spike Balls asked, still awkwardly holding the cactus in his giant, rounded hands.
“Marco bringing over kids, would be best to get rid of,” Buff Frog said and the Monster nodded, before throwing it with all of his strength, sending it flying over the treetops. The muscular frog watched it until it disappeared from sight, before turning back to the tall Monster. “Not what I meant.”
A second later, there was the familiar sound of a portal opening, all the Monsters turning to see a pair of scissors ripping a hole through reality. They all sucked in a breath, as Marco and Star walked out of it holding hands, along with two young girls. One had her hand linked with the hooded teen's free hand and was trying to hide behind him as they stepped through, nearly out of sight from the Monsters. The other just stood there slack-jawed, staring at them all with sparkling pupils.
After a few seconds of staring, she let out a high-pitched squeal that startled all of the Monsters, causing them to jump in surprise and worry, thinking something was wrong. “Oh my gosh, real Monsters!” she screamed in joy, her body shaking as she struggled to contain the level of excitement she was feeling. “Big brother! Star! Look there are Monsters, real Monsters here!” She held her arms out in gesture toward them and Star and Marco both shared a smile.
“Yes, Violet we know,” Star said, shooting her a grin.
She moved speedily closer to them, her mouth moving a mile a minute as she darted between each of the startled Monsters. “I have so many questions!” she continued, still at a near squeal. “What do you guys eat? Have you ever eaten Mewmans? Marco and mom said you don't but I want to make sure. Oh can you do dark magic, like raising the dead and stuff like that? Cause that would be really cool! Could you teach me how? I would love to bring my dead hamster back to life and scare Daisy with it.”
“Whoa, whoa, slow down small Mewman girl,” Buff Frog spoke up, stepping out from the crowd of Monsters and bending down so he was level with the child. “Can't answer questions if you talk too fast.”
“Sorry,” Violet said, her cheeks flushing for a second, before continuing earnestly. “I'm just really excited to meet you guys! Oh, my name is Violet by the way!”
“Well we happy to meet you, Violet. I Buff Frog, Marco's father. He said you very interested in Monsters.”
Violet nodded once, “Yeah, big brother has told me a lot about you and it's always been a dream of mine to meet a real life Monster.
“Really,” Buff Frog said, giving the girl a kind smile.
“Yep, I even sleep with a stuffed one every night, even though Daisy thinks it's silly,” Violet continued.
“You do,” the frog Monster questioned, his voice light and cheerful.
“Mm-hmm, I can show you,” the dark-haired girl said, before taking her backpack off and pulling out the small stuffed Monster that was black with small horns and a single eye. She handed it to Buff Frog who eyed it closely.
“Oh, is very handsome, must be strong and brave,” the frog observed seriously and Violet smiled proudly.
“His name is Charles. Mom got it for me for my birthday,” she explained, hopping up and down on the heels of her feet.
Buff Frog smiled and handed it back to her, telling her, “Well something that important must be kept safe.” The girl nodded in agreement and stuffed it back into the bag, before zipping it shut.
The frog Monster gave her hair a small tousle, telling the girl, “You should go say hi to other Monsters, they very happy to meet you too!”
The girl nodded and took off to speak with each of the Monsters and pester them with a million questions, none of which they minded. Buff Frog watched her go, before walking over to his son and wrapping him up into a tight, but not crushing hug. “Marco, my boy, so good to see you!”
“Hey dad!” Marco replied, equally cheerful, the smile on his face so wide it was stretching out his cheek mark, which spun in a lazy circle. “I'm really excited about today!”
Buff Frog laughed. “Me too!”
“Thanks for letting the girls come, I hope you don't mind.” Marco's voice had a sheepish undertone, even though they had discussed this already, he still felt uncomfortable for whatever reason for even asking the frog such a request.
But his dad was quick to shoot down any worries, as he said in a happy tone, “Of course not, Marco! They family to you, they family to us!”
The moment the Monster pulled away, he noticed the other little girl hiding behind his son, who stared up at him with fearful eyes. The second he caught her eye, she looked away burying her face into the back of Marco's hood.
“Who this little one?” Buff Frog asked, making sure to keep his voice light, so as to not scare her.
Marco put a hand on her head, telling his dad, “This is Daisy.”
“She's a bit.... nervous about being around Monsters,” Star explained hesitantly, doing her best not to upset Buff Frog.
The Monster leader smiled grimly, before turning back to the girl and saying in a soft, warm tone, “Hello, little one, no need be afraid, I won't hurt you.”
The girl didn't respond, so Star added in an equally calm voice, “Daisy, this is Marco's dad. He raised him and he is super nice.”
The girl raised her head up enough so that she was face to face with Buff Frog again and she softly muttered, “Hi.” Her eyes grew wide with fear, before she added in a terrified stutter, “P-Please don't eat m-me.” Her hand clenched the boy's pant leg even tighter, as her eyes drifted to her feet.
Father and son shared a sad look with each other, before Marco said, “Daisy he's not going to eat you, I promise. Just come out and say hello.” He put an encouraging hand on her back and she stiffened. But after a few seconds, she finally moved away from the protection of the boy, walking slowly toward the Monster, who remained still so he wouldn't frighten her anymore. She looked back at Star and Marco once in an almost pleading gaze, before staring at the Monster in front of her, nervously rubbing a foot on the ground.
“Marco tells me you like tea,” Buff Frog said and the girl nodded slowly in reply. “Would like me make you some?” he asked and the girl's eyes brightened for a second.
“You like tea,” she said.
Buff Frog nodded, “Oh yes, when I little like you, Marco's mom used to make me tea all the time.” The girl gave him a curious look, even as he held out his claw in offering. “So would you like try Monster made tea?”
“Is it... poisoned,” the girl asked worriedly.
Buff Frog chuckled and shook his head. “No, is not, I made sure,” he gave her a small wink and the girl finally grinned, it was hesitant and the mistrust was still written on her face, but it was definitely a start. Star and Marco, both shared victorious grins with each other, their plan working better than they had hoped and they squeezed each others hands in joy. But it quickly turned into a loving gaze, as they grew lost in their partner's stunning orbs, feeling a familiar heartbeat for a moment inside their chest.
Daisy took Buff Frog's claw and the Monster finally stood, starting to lead her toward the house. But he froze and nearly slapped a hand to his forehead as he suddenly remembered the surprise. “Oh nearly forgot!” he shouted, making the peach-haired girl look up at him curiously and a little fearfully. He turned back in the direction of his son, shouting, “Marco!”
Marco tore his gaze reluctantly away from his girlfriend, their cheeks painted pink, taking in the excited looks on his dad's face. “What?” he asked in confusion.
“Wanted to show you surprise!” Buff Frog said, before pointing to the house behind him and Marco finally took the thing in for the first time since arriving. The other Monsters turned at that, Bearicorn breaking off his conversation with Violet, who was asking question after question about the Monsters horn, wondering if he was somehow part unicorn, a mystery that went unsolved for the moment.
“Surprise Marco!” they all shouted, too late, but the hooded teen's bright smile was still there as he took in the fully constructed home in joy. It was a large two story home that looked like it had at least five bedrooms, maybe more, which made sense since many of the Monsters would be coming and going from there. The walls were a soft brown with white trimming and a red roof. The time and detail that they had surly put into its construction showed, the whole thing looking professionally built and Marco was sure his real dad couldn't have done a better job. But the thing that brought tears to his eyes was the large red sun engraved above the door frame, an exact replica to his cheek marks, as well as the plaque that read 'In memory of the Diaz Family'.
“You guys,” Marco squeaked out, wiping the tears from his eyes with the back of his hand. “It looks perfect!”
“Glad you like it,” Beard Deer said, giving him a soft smile and going over to put an arm around his shoulders.
“Wait till you see the inside,” Lobster Claws said, excitedly as the two teens were led over to the entrance of the house, surrounded on all sides by the eager and chattering Monsters. Buff Frog and Daisy were in the lead, the little girl turning to her sister and shouting, “Violet, it turns out Monster's like tea just like I do and Marco's dad is going to let me try some, isn't that awesome!” Buff Frog hid his smile from the girl, keeping his eyes staring forward.
Violet got a jealous look on her face, as she whined, “What? I want to try some, too.”
“But you hate tea,” Daisy reminded her.
Violet scoffed and snapped, “Yeah but not Monster tea!”
“Well Mr. Buff Frog didn't ask you, so there?” Daisy shot back, sticking her tongue out at her sister, causing her to groan in anger.
Buff Frog with all the levelheadedness of a veteran parent merely stated, “Now, now children. No need to fight, is plenty for both of you.” This instantly stilled the girl's fast approaching argument as they both just shared a look. “Now why don't you two run inside and pick out cup you want?” he subtly hinted and the girl's instantly obeyed, running inside and giggling away, Buff Frog and the others watching them go.
“How did you do that, Buff Frog?” Marco asked in disbelief.
Marco's dad turned to him with a large, loving grin as he said, “You forget I raised you. I have fair share of fussy kids and how best deal with them.”
A few minutes later, the group was seated at the large kitchen table, Buff Frog pouring each of them a cup of tea from the teapot in his claws. Daisy and Violet wasted no time, the moment their cups were filled they  both took a giant gulp, before spitting the stuff back out and whining about their burning tongues.
“I warned you was hot,” Buff Frog chuckled.
The other Monsters meanwhile were looking down at their own cups in confusion, Lobster Claws remarking, “We didn't know you knew how to do stuff like this boss.”
“Yes, well, many things I keep hidden from you all over years,” Buff Frog replied, pouring the tea into Star's cup, who thanked him gratefully.
He then stepped over to his son and poured him a glass. Marco looked down at the browish, almost caramel colored liquid before asking, “You said mom used to make this?”
Buff Frog nodded, before taking his seat next to his child. “Oh yes, this is her special recipe. Hopefully I got it right, been long time since last made it.”
Marco watched the steam steadily rise off of his cup, feeling his chest clench in sadness. He wished his mom could have made this for him herself, picturing her giving him a kiss on the head as she handed him his cup. He swallowed down the lump in his throat as he lifted the drink to his lips and allowed it to flow down his throat. As he did, he imagined that this was somehow a gift from her, yet another small piece of his family, a reminder that a part of them was still there and he treasured every sip. But as his taste buds activated, he let out a moan of delight, realizing that this stuff was quite delicious as well as important.
Once he lowered the cup back to the table, he was licking his lips, savoring the sweet drink as much as he could. The others seemed impressed as well, Star even commenting, “Wow, that's really good!” Even Daisy and Violet were gulping it down like there was no tomorrow, Daisy with of course her pinkie raised. They finished at nearly the same time, both letting out a satisfied sigh, before thrusting their cups toward Buff Frog again, asking nicely and with varying levels of excitement and eagerness, “More please!”
“Slow down you too, you don't want to ruin your appetite before lunch,” Star said and the two groaned in annoyance.
“Another cup won't hurt,” Buff Frog said, pouring them each another full glass and Star just smiled and shook her head. “Now make sure not to swallow too fast, could give stomach ache,” he added and the two nodded quickly.
“Thank you, Buff Frog!” Violet said, while Daisy just gave a hesitant nod. They both began drinking the substance again, though a bit slower this time.
Buff Frog smiled before turning to his own child, who's head was lowered to the table so he couldn't see his face, asking him, “So Marco what do you think of drink?”
He frowned as Marco didn't answer right away, keeping his eyes trained on his half-empty cup, and he felt concern clench his chest. The amphibian put a hand on the boy's back, asking worriedly, “Marco?”
The boy sniffed, wiping his nose with his shirt sleeve as he finally replied in a strained, tear-soaked voice, “It's delicious.”
Buff Frog smiled sadly, knowing exactly what was upsetting the boy, as he moved his arm around his small frame and pulled him to his side, saying softly, “Would you like some more?”
Marco nodded and finally caught his eye, which were shimmering with small unshed tears, but the smile on his face was genuine as he held the cup out for him.
Daisy and Violet looked over at Star with troubled frowns, Daisy asking, “What's wrong with Big Brother?”
“He just misses his parents a lot,” Star explained softly and the two shared a look, not understanding, but they stayed quiet as they watched the hooded teen drink the rest of his tea, his father holding him close as he did.
Once the boy was finished he set his cup down and cleared his throat, before asking, “So uh, do you guys have any plans for today?”
The Monsters all seemed unsure at the unexpected question, Boo Fly commenting, “Juzzzt zzpend time with you.”
Marco nodded before saying, “Right, right. I know but like how do you feel about... maybe going somewhere.” He tried to keep his voice calm, but the excited undertone was easily picked up by the Monsters.
Still they all played along as Buff Frog asked, “Do you have idea, Marco?”
“Welll...” he said as modestly as he could, reaching into the backpack by his side. “Star and I may have come up with an idea or two.” He pulled out a rolled up paper, setting it out on the table, as it unwound, covering the entire length of the table and the Monsters all stared at it in shock. The hooded teen seeing their faces, felt a blush light up his cheeks, as he admitted hesitantly, “I guess maybe I got a little carried away.”
“No, no, just surprise us is all,” Buff Frog quickly said, reading a few things off the list. “Is lot, though, might have to narrow down some.”
“Trust me this was actually the short list,” Star told them all, before smiling over at her boyfriend, who was twiddling his fingers.
“Well, I mean, I just wanted to get a chance to explore Mewni more thoroughly. I have lived here my whole life, but I don't feel like I actually know all that much about it.” None of them, mentioned the reason for this, the unspoken resentment toward the lizard who had practically imprisoned Marco entering all of their minds. “And I thought maybe checking out a few places would be a fun bonding kind of thing.” Marco shrugged and the Monsters all smiled at their youngest.
“Sounds like good plan to me,” Buff Frog said, giving his son's arm a squeeze. He looked over at his minions and friends, asking them, “How do you all feel about trip?”
They all either nodded or shrugged in agreement, Spike Balls adding, in a pleasant tone, “Anytime with Marco is a good idea to us.”
The hooded teen blushed and pulled his hood up over his eyes, to hide his pink cheeks. “You guys,” he whined in embarrassment. Star reached over and put a hand on his, drawing his eyes to her, as she told him, “See I told you they would say yes.”
“Yeah, you were right, Star,” Marco agreed and Star leaned closer, pulling his hood back so she could stare into his eyes easier. “And how about my reward for being right?” she asked with a playful smirk, making the boy's heart nearly stop beating it was pounding so erratically. Ignoring the anticipating stares of his family and the twins, he gave her the wanted kiss she was demanding, the girl putting a hand to his cheek as she let it deepen, keeping him trapped there as she tasted every inch of his lips and he happily complied, allowing her to lead the kiss. The whole time this was going on, Buff Frog and the other Monsters were smiling like crazy and trying not to gush over how cute their child and his girlfriend were as a couple, just watching them with silent smiles.
Daisy and Violet, however, had no sense of self-control for such things, as they sprang forward, over the table and tackled the hooded boy in a tight hug, making him break out of his kiss to let out a startled yelp. They nearly knocked him off his chair, but he managed to hold his balance, as he held the two giggling girls to his chest, his brain still fuzzy and his lips still tingling from the kiss. “Big brother, when are you two gonna get married already?!” Violet asked, squeezing his cheeks with her hands.
“Yeah and can I be one of the flower girl at your wedding?” Daisy requested making Violet turn to her with a glare.
“No way, I want to be the flower girl!” Violet demanded childishly.
“You hate flowers!” Daisy shot back.
“Well instead of flowers maybe I could use glass eyeballs or something,” Violet mumbled bitterly.
“Ew, Violet! That's gross!” Daisy gagged, which only made her sister even more angry.
“You're gross!”
“Girls, no arguing or we take you straight home,” Star reminded them in a chiding tone and the two turned to her with wide eyes, both of their mouths snapping shut. Though they still shot each other the occasional glare when they thought she wasn't looking.
“Now then, back to your trip,” Buff Frog interrupted, drawing the attention back to him. “Where you planning on us going, my son?”
Marco got a thoughtful expression, before he said, “Well, I'll be honest, I haven't decided yet. I have a lot of ideas, as you can tell...” he sheepishly gestured to the list. “But I don't think we'll have time to do them all.”
“May I make suggestion then?” Buff Frog asked and Marco nodded, smiling eagerly.
“Sure thing, dad,” he replied.
“My idea is place won't find on any map,” he said mysteriously and the boy's face lit up in anticipation.
“Really?” Marco breathed in wonderment.
“Oh yes, is only known by select few Monsters and I happen be one,” Buff Frog replied.
“Can you take us there?” Marco asked, his eyes begging and his frog father chuckled.
“Yes, I can,” he replied jovially.
The group of Mewmans and Monsters exited out of the portal, their mouths all gaped open at the beautiful clearing surrounding them. It was a great big open area surrounded and hidden from prying eyes by a thick wall of vegetation and/or cliffs. There was a waterfall there, which was oddly falling up and as they observed closer it seemed many things there were not harbored by the force of gravity. There were several flowers that floated in the air, instead of the ground, hovering there and glowing a soft white. The sight was one to behold, the sun hitting the water just right making a rainbow spray across their vision and the grass was all a pale blue, compared to the normal pink or green. In the river that flowed around the area, Marco could make out several blue gators wadding through the water, much like the one he had met so long ago. There were no houses or any signs of outside forces ever even entering the place, in fact the area looked completely untouched by organic hands.
“Wow, Buff Frog, what is this place?” Marco asked, taking a few steps forward, only to feel himself go weightless as he rose up off the ground. Marco let out a yelp of surprise, his arms waving wildly as he tried to balance himself, his body now just a foot above the floor and he tried futility to get himself back down to the forest floor.
Buff Frog quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him back down to the floor, Marco sighing in relief and putting a hand over his pounding heart. “Must be careful, my boy. Gravity doesn't work same here as in rest of Mewni.”
“I'll remember that,” Marco replied, swallowing hard. Daisy and Violet on the other hand were cheering and clapping at what they had just witnessed, saying, “Oh wow, Big Brother flew!” or “Do it again, Big Brother!”
“Maybe later,” Marco told them, still having trouble speaking around the heart in his throat.
“I've never seen a place like this anywhere on Mewni before,” Star commented looking around the area in bewildered awe. “I didn't even know something like this could exist in this dimension.”
“Yes, well, we Monsters discovered it first and chose to keep hidden from Mewmans, knowing they had tendency to take what was not theirs.”
Star cringed at that. “Yeah, uh, sorry... about that,” the blond royal apologized sheepishly.
“Is okay, that was ancestors not you,” Buff Frog told her with a reassuring smile. He turned back to staring at the landscape, saying, “Place is called Gravity Falls, for obvious reasons.” They all watched as a flower floated by their heads, spinning lazily.
“How come you never brought us here before, Buff Frog?” Lobster Claws asked, looking hurt.
“Because, as said before, only few Monster know about place,” he explained, crossing his arms. “Less that know about it the better, at least that what my father said.”
“You sure, it's okay for us to be here now, then?” Marco asked in concern.
Buff Frog nodded. “Positive. Few Monsters come here nowadays, is very safe and good place to relax.”
“Can we go play?” Violet asked Star and Marco, bored of all the grown-up talking and itching to run around and explore.
“Sure,” Marco said with a nod. “But just stay where we can see you, okay?”
“Okay,” both girls replied, before racing off, Daisy looking much more comfortable and at ease now. They quickly started playing in the water scaring off the gators there, who put as much distance between the two girls as possible, before diving underwater. The Monsters quickly relaxed and lounged around, enjoying a day off without having to worry about fighting something or doing something, and finally able to just let go and do nothing for awhile, leaving Star and Marco relatively alone.
The young couple held hands, not sure what to do or say now, but more just enjoying the quiet moment together. “So, hey uh, do you... want to do something?” Marco asked, trying to fight the nervousness he was feeling. It was just Star after all, she was his bestie and girlfriend, there was no reason he should be nervous... at least he didn't think, he had only been on a couple of dates with her and was still not entirely sure what all dating entailed.
“Like what?” she asked patiently, her eyes shining brighter than a thousand diamonds and the words caught in Marco's throat.
He coughed, before saying, “I don't know, maybe like-”
Before he could finish his answer, there was a loud splash from the water and Star turned only to see the two girls now almost wrestling in the water and quickly raced over without a second thought to stop them from accidentally drowning one another. “Hey girls, stop that!” Star cried.
Marco felt disappointment bubble in his chest, but it didn't last long, after all they still had the whole day to hang out and today was really more about spending time with his dad and the rest of his family anyways.
And as if on cue, Marco suddenly felt something land on his shoulder and turned to see his dad smiling down at him. “So, my son, how is things with you?”
“Pretty good, actually,” Marco said, sitting on a fairly comfortable rock (after testing it to make sure it was stationary of course). Buff Frog took the seat next to him. “Is good. How is relationship with Star? Are you two doing okay?”
Marco didn't even have to think about his answer. “Oh yeah, she's great! We're doing great! Actually the other day we went on a date to this 'Corn Festival' thing and it was awesome!” He quickly pulled out his phone to show his dad a few pictures the two had taken, Marco and Star in various poses together and with facial expressions ranging from a mere smile to goofy looks to outright kissing one another, thus capturing the moment for all time.
But as his phone switched to the last picture this one of the two of them, passed out on his bed his head nuzzled into her chest as his girlfriend held him in a protective hug, he quickly squeaked and tucked his phone away, hoping his dad wouldn't comment on it. “Janna,” he muttered under his breath, knowing his creepy friend had to be responsible for that. It wouldn't be the first time she had stolen his phone to take a photo of the two when they didn't know she was there. Normally he didn't mind, but he didn't want to explain to his dad what had led up to that situation in the first place.
“What was that?” Buff Frog asked, a tiny bit of concern in his tone.
Oh boy. “I, uh, had a nightmare,” Marco replied simply, hoping his dad would drop the subject. He didn't want to talk about how ever since the Toffee incident he would occasionally have a nightmare where he was being strangled all over again or taken far away from his family and Star where no one would find him. Or more recently, he was forced to watch as Toffee disposed of everyone he loved right in front of him while he was powerless to stop him. It was why he didn't mind that the twins had begun making a habit out of sneaking into bed with him in the middle of the night, finding their presences comforting and he was able to sleep easier knowing someone else was there. Though that didn't help when his nightmares would come back to him during the day, when he was wide awake, because they felt so much more real then and would always throw his mind into a frenzy and his body into panic.
But his dad didn't pester him with questions or even ask what the nightmare had been about, only staring at him for a long moment before saying, “It happens.” Marco was thankful as he quickly moved on and dropped the subject moving on to a more lighthearted subject as he began telling Marco all about how he used to come to this place as a kid with his father and how special and important it was to him.
Marco listened closely, but allowed his eyes to stray to the water, watching as Daisy, Violet, and now even Star joined in on taking turns soaking one another, albeit now under Star's watchful eye, not letting it ever get too far out of hand as to raise any concern. He admired his girlfriend, as she laughed and played along with the two girls, laughing like she didn't have a care in the world. He liked seeing her like this, so relaxed and at ease, and he was enchanted with her every movement, of every way the light danced off her hair. He nearly laughed out loud as she lifted Daisy up and dipped her waste deep in the water, while the small royal screamed and kicked in joy. The boy felt a familiar heartbeat flicker in his chest and suddenly, Star looked over at him, her sky blue eyes conveying to him that she had felt it too. The two shared a smile, before he directed his full attention back to his dad.
Buff Frog carried on and on with his tales, filled with joy but at the same time was deep in thought. He knew Marco was keeping something from him, that there was something on his mind he wasn't telling him and that troubled Buff Frog deeply. His son was generally a very open boy and he had always been honest with him about nearly everything, sure there was the occasional lie growing up, telling him he had eaten all of his vegetables when there was still plenty on his plate, stuff like that, but overall nothing to this level. The worse he could think of was when he had snuck out of the castle against Toffee's wishes, but that had been more of to protect himself from Toffee's wrath than anything else.
But if Marco was having nightmare and seemed blatantly uncomfortable talking about it, then Buff Frog knew something was bothering him. Something that (with him at least)  Marco seemed closed off about. And that wasn't the only example. He had picked up on several little conversations with his son that Marco was doing his best to hide something and as much as he wanted to pry it out of him, he also knew that that would do no good. Maybe he could speak about it with Star later, for now, he'd rather enjoy some quality time with his son and so to make sure that very thing happened he forced the thoughts out of his head.
The rest of the Monsters seemed to be enjoying themselves too, all finding something to keep them entertained while they were there.  Big Chicken was pecking at the grass looking for seeds or bugs to chomp on. Bearicorn was climbing up a tree in an attempt to score some honey from a beehive. The two-headed brothers were in an intense argument about if a house would float out there. Boo Fly was sleeping, his small body suspended in mid-air as he relaxed and enjoyed being able to feel weightless without flapping his wings. Lobster Claws and Potato Baby were busy testing out the gravity streams, taking turns watching various things they could find float in fascination, and as Beard Deer walked by, he gave Lobster Claws a massive shove, which caused the crustacean to float in the air, his arms waving wildly as he screamed over the lack of balance, all while Potato Baby let a garbled laugh.  The rest were all either napping in the sun or just laying back in the grass and doing nothing.
After a while, Star called out to her bestie, drawing his and Buff Frog's attention to the water, “Hey Marco, come join us!”
“Yeah, Big Brother come and play!” Daisy shouted.
Marco looked over at his dad, who gave him a nod to let him know it was okay, before he ran over, ripping off his prized hoodie, before taking a dive toward the water. But gravity worked against him once again, as it instead kept him floating in the air for a few seconds, his form slowing drifting over the three girls heads, before dropping him unceremoniously into the water. The teen came up sputtering and gasping for breath, while he heard the familiar laughter of Star and the twins, who all found his slip up immensely humorous. “It's not that funny,” Marco said and Star gave him an apologetic look inbetween gasps for breath.
“I'm... sorry Marco, but y-your face... it was j-just too funny!” She was laughing even harder now, looking like she was about to double over or pass out from lack of oxygen to her strained lungs.
Marco felt his face flush bright red, until an idea popped into his head, his cheeks spinning once in response. “Not as funny as yours,” he said playfully and the girl stopped laughing and gave him a confused look. That's when Marco swiftly splashed a big bunch of water into the girl's face, making her let out a startled cry. The boy laughed at the girl's soaking wet hair and dripping bangs, as she merely frowned over at him, though the smile behind her eyes was obviously there. And it turned into a real one as she said, playfully, “Oh yeah so that's how you want it to be. Then bring it on, Diaz!”
Daisy and Violet quickly joined in, each helping to sabotage the two teens, with little splashes of their own, while Marco and Star got into a splash fight, laughing the whole time, as Star sought revenge on her boyfriend. Eventually, Marco threw in the towel though as Star began to mercilessly tickle his sides and he laughed and squirmed in her grip. “Ha ha, okay Star that's enough! Haha, Star you win already, hahahaha, stop it that tickles!”
The girl finally ceased her ferocious attack as she held the boy tightly in her arms, his body slightly dipped toward the water. She couldn't resist as she leaned closer and gave him a small kiss on the lips, which he returned wholeheartedly. But just as the two separated, there was a large splash the aftereffect hitting the two full force, along with a massive wave that nearly knocked the two off their feet. Daisy and Violet laughed as they had witnessed Spike Balls jumping into the water out of nowhere, giggling incessantly at their two babysitters soaked forms. “Just thought I'd join in on the fun,” the Monster commented with a wide smile.
“Oh my turn!” Lobster Claws suddenly shouted. He ran toward the water before proclaiming, “Cannonball!” He then jumped in the water himself, using the lack of gravity to do a full flip before hitting the water and sending of shower of droplets on the others.
Several other Monsters joined in, diving into the water, making the four Mewmans laugh at the varying degrees of success. But Beard Deer hardly seemed impressed, watching the whole thing with a scowl, before finally shouting, “That's not how you cannon ball!”
“Oh yeah, well then why don't you try it?” Lobster Claws yelled from back at him.
Beard Deer got a smirk, as he backed up to show them a proper cannonball, but just as he jumped, he was affected by the gravity, as it made him instead do one spin in the air before face-planting directly into the water, causing the other Monsters to laugh. At this point, all the Monsters were in the river but Buff Frog, and Marco looked over at his dad, who was watching with a smile in the same spot he had left him.
“Hey dad, don't you want to swim, too?!” he yelled to him.
“Yeah, come on, boss! Live a little!” Lobster Claws shouted, Potato Baby giving an agreeing garble.
Buff Frog just shook his head, saying, “No, no. You have fun, I will sit out this time.”
“Awww, come on!” Star encouraged. “Your a frog, after all, I bet your jump would put all the others to shame!”
“Yeah, dad, show me that patented Bulgoyabov dive, like in your story,” Marco added, remembering his dad recounting the special technique his family had invented and been using for generations.
The amphibian seemed to consider this, before he stood up and started to walk away, much to everyone's surprise. “Boss?” some of the Monsters asked, while Marco just smiled to himself. The frog suddenly turned and began racing back toward the river, getting a running start before he leapt into the air. Everyone watched in awe as his muscular form rose above the very treetops and with the added lack of gravity, he seemed to go even higher than some clouds. And as he descended, he did a complicated series of spins and somersaults, before finally hitting the water, crashing into it like a torpedo. There was a gigantic wave, that sent every Monster barreling over and Marco, who had been fully aware what was about to happen, had grabbed Daisy and Violet and pulled them as far back as he could. Star followed uncertainly, but it switched to understanding as the tidal wave barreled through the unexpected Monsters, only to lose its height and momentum the further it traveled, hitting the Mewmans with only a mild, barely above their knees, current.
Buff Frog emerged from the water, grinning victoriously, as all the Monsters recovered from the unexpected hit. There was a few seconds of silence, before Lobster Claws exclaimed, “That was amazing!” Soon after this declaration all the Monsters were congratulating their boss, patting him on the back or shaking his claw and while the four Mewmans just watched and laughed. “You family is so fun, big brother!” Violet screamed and Marco smiled thoughtfully, nodding slowly.
“Yeah they are,” Marco said softly, his voice chocked with emotion. He couldn't think of a time when he had ever seen them acting so goofy or lighthearted, most of the time growing up they had seemed stressed and anxious and sometimes Marco wasn't sure if they could even stand each other. But now they looked like a real family, getting along and just enjoying each others company, and it made Marco's heart soar to see such a sight. And seeing them all so happy and carefree, made him realize something. While he had recently begun experiencing true freedom for himself, the others now seemed to have finally gotten the chance to do the same. And this only served to remind him of just how much he loved his dad and the Monsters, they all had sacrificed so much to keep him safe for all those years, and now at last they were able to be rewarded for their efforts.
Marco, after some prompting from Star, was able to snap out of his thoughts and go over to join the Monsters, Daisy and Violet following right behind. Once they met up, a series of games fast broke out, including more splash fighting, chicken fight, a game the Monsters called sharks and mermaids, and marco polo, which Marco enjoyed immensely. This went on until late into the afternoon, the sun peeking and then lowering quite a ways before anyone even took notice of how much time had passed, too invested in the fun they were all having. Marco, especially, seemed to be enjoying his time bonding with his family and girlfriend, smiling ear to ear to the point his cheeks began hurting, but he didn't care and refused to let it up for even a single second.
But he wasn't the only one obviously having the time of his life, the twins too seemed equally enthusiastic about the time spent, even little Daisy's fear all but forgotten as she played with the Monsters with equal fervor as her twin. And soon, she seemed right at home and at ease around them, giggling incessantly over every little thing. In fact, by this point you couldn't even tell that she had ever been frightened of the Monsters to begin with and this made Marco's already stretched smile widen even more.
By the time they did finally break off for lunch, they were all beyond sore and tired, but happy, as they slowly trudged to shore to get some much needed and well-deserved rest, dragging their pruny bodies out of the water with much force, some more than others.
They all stretched out in the soft grass, relaxing and catching their breath as they waited to dry off in the sun. Daisy and Violet lay side by side, both shivering slightly as Marco walked over to them with their lunches and his in hand. They both took their food gratefully and with bright eagerness over the first bit of food since breakfast, both working up quite the appetite over the last several hours. It was nothing fancy, just sandwiches that he had made before their trip but as the two starving girls each took a bite, it seemed like they had just been given fine gourmet the way they were humming in appreciation and delight.
“This is so good, Big Brother!” Daisy proclaimed, before quickly chomping at least a quarter of it off and chewing greedily.
“Yeah, it's really tasty!” Violet mumbled out, struggling to form coherent words with her mouth stuffed to the very max it could hold at one time without choking her.
“I'm glad you like it,” Marco said cheerfully, before rising up and going over to join Star, who was already half-done with her own sandwich. “Mmmm, Marco what is on this? It's amazing!” Star complimented him, taking a big bite.
“Umm, let's see,” Marco said thoughtfully, as he sat by Star's side. He counted off each ingredient used as he went, “Basically whatever I could find, like avocados, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mustard, ketchup, chick-” Marco quickly cut himself off, his head whipping around to stare panic-stricken at Big Chicken, who's head was raised in alert. Marco nervously cleared his throat, before correcting himself and saying, “Um, you know, various things.”
This seemed to settle Big Chicken, who went back to pecking at the seeds in front of him. “Right, gotcha,” Star replied, as she held back a chuckle. She watched the boy take an eager bite of his own sandwich, hanging on his every move, before asking, “So do you wanna switch?”
Marco turned to her in surprise, his mouth still comically stuffed, as he asked, “Wha?”
Star laughed at her boyfriend's cuteness, before explaining, “You can have some of my sandwich and I can have some of yours.”
Marco swallowed, giving her a look of naive curiosity. “Why would we do that?” he asked. “I mean they're exactly the same, right.” He raked his brain trying to think of if he did anything special to any of the sandwiches, but he had been very careful to make them all the exact same way so as to not hurt anyone's feelings over being left out.
Star shrugged, her fingers shyly fiddling with the bread, picking off small crumbs and throwing it into the grass. “It's just something couples like to do. But if you don't want to I-”
“No, no, I do!” Marco quickly agreed, practically shouting into her face and waving a hand in front of him to reassure her. He hated to see Star upset and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt her feelings, especially over something as trivial as this. “I just was confused it all,” he added with a sheepish chuckled, nervously scratching his cheek.
Star smiled at him, grabbing his arm and cuddling him close to her. “It's okay, Marco. I get it,” Star told him, before planting a kiss on his cheek. “I just felt weird about it for a second is all, cause I realized how dumb it sounded.”
“Nothing you say is dumb,” Marco told her, so much honesty and certainty in his tone that Star realized that he truly believed what he said, that to him anything she said was important and that was just a hard fact of life. Which just made Star's heart melt even more and caused her to gush over her adorably sweet boyfriend. “Awww, Marco, you spoil me,” she swooned, squeezing his arm tight as she nuzzled his cheek with hers, making the both of their faces light up red.
Marco didn't say anything, just giving a little embarrassed chuckle, enjoying every second of contact with his awesome bestie as his brain turned to mush. But he was able to successfully snap back to reality as Star held her sandwich up to his lips and he eagerly took a bite, before doing the same for her. The two chewed their partner's lunch for a moment, feeling safe and secure in each other's arms. And though Marco didn't know how it was possible, he could swear that somehow Star's bite of sandwich was far better than his own, as if being in the blond's hands infused it with some sort of added flavor that only improved its overall taste. Then again, it shouldn't surprise him, everything Star touched turned to gold. She was just so special and amazing he sometimes couldn't believe he was been lucky enough to have her in his life. Since he met her, she had done nothing but brighten up his life in ways he never could have imagined. Before Star the only joy in his life was the bits of time he spent with his dad and the Monsters, everything else was just boredom and guilt and longing. Now though, his life felt like a fairytale or some beautiful dream that he prayed he never woke up from. Sure there were tough times, but they were worth it if he could stay by his Star's side.
Marco must have been staring at her funny, because she suddenly asked, “What?” The hooded teen slowly shook his head. “Just... thinking,” he said, his voice cracking slightly as he chocked on the lump in his throat.
“About what?” Star asked, raising a curious, teasing eyebrow.
“How much better my life is since I met you,” he explained and Star's eyes widened.
A bright, shy smile lit up her face and her hearts thumped a few times on her blushing cheeks. “What brought that up?” she asked.
“Just being near you, I guess. Spending time with you always makes me feel grateful that we met.”
Star smiled and leaned once again into his arm. “Yeah, me too.”
The two stayed like that for a moment or two, before they heard a shuffling behind them and they turned to see Buff Frog standing over them, looking slightly guilty. “Sorry to interrupt moment,” he began looking genuinely apologetic. “But need to talk to you two about something.”
Star and Marco shared a surprised look, before Marco spoke up, telling his dad, “Uh, sure thing, Buff Frog. What's going on?”
The amphibian sat down on a rock beside them, his gaze hardening some and causing the two's heart rate to increase mildly. He crossed his arms, his stance powerful but concerned, his yellow eyes digging into their skin, trying to pry something out of them with the look alone. The two admittedly squirmed under his intense gaze, now worried what he was about to question them on. “I know you two hiding something from me.”
The two both gasped at that, too startled to hide their guilty faces as Marco bit his lip and avoided his dad's gaze and Star just sucked in a breath. Buff Frog watched both of their reactions closely, waiting for them to speak and try to defend themselves. But neither said a word and eventually Buff Frog figured it was best to continue. “I see it in your eyes. I want to know what problem is.”
The two shared a hesitant look, neither sure what to say and a thought suddenly struck Buff Frog. The two were really close with one another, sharing a lot of time alone and away from his watchful eye, they had been dating for at least three months now, and Marco had freaked out over a photo of the two snuggling in bed together...
His eyes slowly lowered to Star's stomach, but he quickly shook these foolish thoughts away. There was no way that was what was happening, from what he had seen their relationship was sweet and innocent, he had no reason to suspect them of something like that. Still, there was something wrong and he was going to find out what. “Please tell me so that I may help you. I worry about you, Marco,” he said, his eyes begging and his son finally caught his eye, before quickly turning away the look too much for him to take.
“That's exactly why I don't want to tell you,” Marco said, rubbing a hand on his arm. “I don't want to worry you anymore than you already do.”
Buff Frog let out a sigh. “I know, my son, but keeping hidden from me, make me worry just as much.”
Star and Marco shared a look, trying to silently decide on their next course of action. One of the big reasons the two had been opposed to it was out of fear that maybe if Buff Frog was to know the danger surrounding Star he might decide to move Marco back in with him until the threat passed. And even though this seemed unlikely, the chance was still there and it was enough to chill them to the bone, neither wanting to imagine a life without their chosen match by their side. And so, as brown and blue met, a single thought ran through both of their minds, What do we tell him?
Meanwhile, Violet was quickly growing bored just laying there. She had already finished her lunch and she wanted to go back to doing stuff, particularly with the Monsters. She looked over to see Star and Marco in some kind of conversation with Buff Frog and then to where the rest of the Monsters were resting. She rose to her feet, which caught her twin's attention. “Where are you going?” Daisy asked curiously.
“To talk to the Monsters, want to come.” Violet looked ecstatic, a bright grin on her face as she waited for her sister's answer.
Daisy studied the group of Monsters for a few moments, trying to decide. Sure they hadn't done anything bad to her at this point but she still felt unsure about them, all the stories she had overheard from the adults making her fearful. Both her and Violet had eavesdropped on several conversations regarding the Monsters and, while her sister had only seemed to grow more and more interested, Daisy was scared stiff. The way the grownups talked about the Monsters killing people and burning down entire villages, had left her with nightmares for weeks. Her mother had done her best to comfort her, (not before reprimanding them both for listening in where they shouldn't have, of course) telling Daisy that no Monster could get to them from where they were and that she was safe, but her overactive imagination said otherwise. And having a sister who was obsessed with them didn't help much either. Violet would mercilessly tease her and tell her scary stories about the Monsters eating children whole or making them into stew, not realizing just how much it was messing her sister up.
But the worst of all of it was the day that her Trait had worked against her, as when Violet was telling another one of her particularly nasty stories to an unwilling Daisy, their cheek marks had activated, glowing white, and the Monster from Violet's description had come to life and appeared in their room. It was a large Monster made of nothing but fur and glowing red eyes. According to Violet it would tickle its victims for hours before eating them. The girl screamed and hid behind her sister, her whole body shaking, as she begged the Monster to leave her alone. Until finally, Violet told her that the Monster was gone and she opened her eyes to see it had disappeared, her twin apparently making it stop after she realized how much it was troubling her sister.
A moment later, the door had busted open and as several guards came in to check on the two young monarchs, hearing the girl's scream, Daisy, had simply jumped up, pushing past the guards, and ran down the hallways without a word, tears of embarrassment and fear streaming down her face. After that, Violet didn't tease her anymore about the Monsters and the guards were extremely careful to watch what they said around the young, impressionable royal.
But then, things had changed all of a sudden, as the adults began saying that the Monsters were good now and that they were no longer hurting anyone anymore. This had confused Daisy, sending her mind into a whirlwind of questions and doubt that left her paralyzed with uncertainty. All her life she had been told that Monsters were bad and that you should stay away from them and avoid them at all costs, but now she was just supposed to forget all of that and trust them. She didn't know what to do, her mind at a crossroads, as she struggled through her paranoid filled upbringing and the new-found evidence that there was no longer anything to fear.
Finally she shook her head, her brain still feeling heavy with doubt and uncertainty, as she said, “No, I'm okay.”
Violet scoffed, clearly annoyed with the response, as she rolled her eyes. “Baby,” she said tauntingly and this ignited a fire in little Daisy's chest.
“I am not a baby!” Daisy huffily shouted, stomping a foot down in anger. She couldn't believe her sister was accusing her of something like that, especially since she was only like this cause of her. She was so filled with rage and consumed by her venomous thoughts, that she didn't even hear the crack beneath her feet.
“Yes you are,” Violet mocked back, pointing an accusing finger at her twin. “Your too afraid to even go near the Monsters, even though mom and Big Brother told us they are safe.”
“But what about all those stories we used to hear, remember that Violet?” Daisy argued. “The adults said that Monsters were scary and dangerous.”
Violet shrugged. “Well we've been around them all day and they haven't acted scary or dangerous,” the creepy girl pointed out and Daisy's comeback froze on her tongue. She didn't know what to say to that, her twin was right after all, the Monsters actually seemed kind and gentle and Marco did seem to trust them...
“Face it, Daisy,” Violet continued, speaking as if she was stating a fact. “Your only afraid of them cause your a baby.”
Daisy lost her train of thought, as anger burst through her chest again and she screamed out in a fiery roar, “I. am. NOT!” She stomped her foot down even harder this time, only this time the cracking that followed was even louder than last time and the girl looked down to see the ground beneath her had fractured, creating a small uneven circle around her form. Before either girl could say anything, the ground beneath Daisy sprang up from the ground, a chunk of Mewni raising up into the sky, carrying the screaming Mewman child with it.
The ear-splitting screech gained everyone's attention, Buff Frog and the teens conversation forgotten as they swerved around to see Daisy being carried away by the ground beneath her, the young one clinging to the grass in fear. “Daisy!” Star and Marco shouted at the same time, terror and alarm written all over their stunned faces. The two began running over to where Violet stood numbly, watching her sister helplessly floating away, her eyes wet with unshed tears. “Marco get Violet!” Star shouted, afraid that her other cousin might float away if she wasn't protected. Marco quickly scooped the girl up and held her close to his chest, as he watched his girlfriend shout at the top of her lungs, “Raspberry Ribbon Lasso!” A tangle of sparkling red rope shout out of her wand, wrapping around the chunk of rock and holding it in place.
The Monsters quickly circled around the Mewmans, feeling helpless as they watched Star's rescue attempt, wanting to do something to help. “Help, someone help me!” Daisy cried, her eyes sealed shut and her whole body shaking in fear, as tears streamed down her face
“Hold on, Daisy, I got you!” Star tried to reassure her, hoping the quiver in her voice didn't end up making the girl even more afraid. Boo Fly, as well, did his part, as he quickly flew up to the girl and snuggled into her side, trying to comfort her however he could. “Don't you worry Mizzz Daizzy. Zztar will have you down in no time,” the fly Monster said, running a paw through her cream-colored hair but the girl didn't respond, too petrified to speak.
But Star was at a loss of what to do next, the blond royal quickly racking her brain for a way to get the girl down without hurting her. But suddenly Buff Frog appeared behind her out of nowhere, saying in a deadly calm voice, “Keep her still, I get her down.”
Before the girl could respond, Buff Frog jumped high into the air, sailing over everyone's heads as he expertly landed on the floating rock, Star somehow barely feeling any extra weight from it, much to her incredulousness. Buff Frog let out a long, soothing shush, putting both claws gently on her shoulders Boo Fly flying away from the girl to let his leader handle the situation. “Shhhh, is alright, little one. You be okay.” The girl flinched, clearly recognizing his voice, her body tensing up, but the amphibian moved slowly, as he gently pulled her up, so she was now sitting on her knees. Her hands instinctively shot out and grabbed onto his beefy arms, taking comfort in his strength, paranoid she would fall without something to cling to. He continued his soft cooing, as he lifted her up and brought her into his arms. The girl instantly threw her arms around his neck, holding him in a tight hug as she buried her face into his shoulder with a small whimper. “Shhh, is alright. You safe now,” Buff Frog said, running a claw through her hair to calm her. He looked down, ignoring the disbelieving looks from his minions as he quickly sized up the distance. He sucked in a breath, this was going to be the tricky part, he would have to jump in order to get down, but that would obviously panic the poor child even more, her already rapid heartbeat causing him to ache.
“Come on dad, you got this,” Marco whispered from the ground, his grip on Violet tightening some, while the creepy girl looked petrified with fear for her sister. Star was just doing all she could to keep the rock from floating any further away, fighting against the incredibly strong pull of gravity the entire time, her arms beginning to ache with the effort. But she felt a small shift in the magical lasso and her eyes widened in horror as she saw that the laws of nature had found a new way to get around her. The floating ground was beginning to break apart into smaller chunks and she watched as a large crack formed, cutting its way through the rock, following along the path her lasso was.
“Buff Frog!” Star screamed in warning.
But the Monster leader didn't have time to react as the rock suddenly snapped in half and continued its trek toward space, causing Buff Frog and Daisy to fall, now plummeting to the ground, the frog in no position to land safely, his body twisting this way and that as he free fell. Violet screamed in fear for her sister's life and Marco shouted in pure terror, “No!”
Star thought fast though, holding her wand out and casting loudly, “Mystic Safety Net!” A large net formed, held in the air by several sparkly butterflies, who pulled the net as taunt as it would go, easily catching the girl and frog in the thick tangle of ropes. They lowered the two slowly and carefully to the ground, before setting them and the net onto the ground. Marco let out a loud breath of relief, his first since witnessing his dad falling to his death.
Buff Frog sat up, before looking down at the girl clinging to his chest in fear, and saying softly, “You can let go, little one. We safe now.” Daisy finally opened her eyes, looking around to see that they were on the ground once more and she released the frog from her death grip, allowing him to pick her up and set her back on her feet.
Violet seeing this, jumped out of Marco's arms and ran up to her still trembling sister, throwing her arms around her in a tight, affectionate hug. The peach-haired girl's eyes widened in surprise, her arms twitching at her side as if unsure if she should hug her sister back or not. But as she heard a sob escape her sister's throat, she did just that, giving her twin a small squeeze. Star walked over and joined in on the hug, thankful her two cousins were safe.
Buff Frog watched the three as he stood, caught off guard as a small form bumped into his chest and a warm body trapped him in its own tender embrace. He looked down to see his son hugging him close, Marco's eyes scrunched closed and the residual look of fear still clearly on his face. “I thought I was gonna lose you,” the boy in red chocked out, his voice cracking as a single tear ran down his face.
“There, there,” Buff Frog soothed, giving his beloved son a loving pat on the back. “I okay, thanks to Star.”
Both Marco and Buff Frog turned to the blond teen, who pulled away from the twins to match their gaze, a smile on her face. “Well I couldn't just sit there and do nothing,” she said with a modest shrug of her shoulders.
“Buff Frog!” a sudden outburst, drew everyone's attention to the other Monsters, who all ran over and tackled their leader to the ground. “We're so sorry we couldn't help you!” Bearicorn bawled, tears streaming down his face. “Please don't fire us and replace us with better Monsters!” the bear continued.
Buff Frog smiled at his companions as he rose to his feet, telling them all in an authoritative but gentle voice, “Is alright, my friends. Would never replace you. You best Monsters I know.”
Potato Baby made a garbled questioning noise, which the amphibian was able to translate, nodding his head. “Da, besides, can't very well replace you. Think Marco would miss you too much.”
The Monsters all turned to the teen, who smiled at them all. “Yep, he's right, I would,” he said. “You're my family after all.” They all let out a simultaneous awww, some even growing teary eyed.
The next thing Marco knew he was being hugged from all angles by the many members of his Monster family who were all cooing or crying out their fondness for the boy. Star laughed seeing her boyfriend looking lost and dazed as he was being virtually squeezed to death by the Monsters, but making no efforts to stop them, though that could have been due to his inability to breathe at the moment. But her attention was drawn back to her spells, who were all staring at her eagerly, as one of the butterflies asked, “So is there anything else we can do for, princess?”
Even my spells have to feel the need to call me by my title, she thought to herself, while saying aloud, “No that will be all, thank you.”
They all bowed formally, another saying, “No thank you, Your Highness. It is an honor to be able to help out a Butterfly.” Then as suddenly as they had come, they vanished into thin air, leaving behind a few sparkles that drifted slowly to the ground. I'll have to remember to call on them more often, she thought to herself. After I have a talk with them about calling me by my name.
Daisy and Violet, meanwhile, were still stuck in their own hug, which was quickly becoming awkward, as the former tried to pull away but found her sibling refusing to break her hold. “Uhh, Violet, you can let go now,” the peach-haired girl said.
“I'm sorry,” the girl muttered, starling her twin.
“What?” she asked.
“I'm sorry I called you a baby,” Violet sniffed. She knew her and her sister argued a lot, but she never imagined that it would nearly lead to such a horrible outcome. She had nearly lost her twin, her other half, all because she had been dumb and stupid and had to tease her over nothing. “I shouldn't have said those things, because of me you almost-”
“No, you were right,” Daisy said, much to her sister's surprise.
“I was?” Violet asked in clear confusion.
The cutesy girl nodded. “I was afraid of the Monsters and I was being a baby about it. I was just so sure that they were bad that I didn't give them a chance.”
Violet finally let go and pulled out of the hug, staring her sister straight in the eyes. “Soooo, does this mean your not mad at me?” she asked.
“No, I guess not,” Daisy said, for some reason finding it hard to stay mad at her twin. Sure they fought a lot, but deep down she loved her twin and couldn't imagine being away from her. They needed each other in some strange way.
The two shared a short smile, before Daisy turned to Star and said, “Thank you, Star, for helping rescue me.”
Star patted her young cousin lightly on the head saying, “I'm just glad your safe. But you know, I'm not the only one you should be thanking.” The blond's eyes jumped to Buff Frog then back to her cousin, knowingly. Daisy nodded and slowly approached the frog Monster, who was watching his son with a grin.
When the girl reached him she gave him a small tug on his shirt to draw his attention and as the frog looked down at her, she began scraping a foot against the ground shyly, struggling to meet his eye. “Um, uh,” the girl muttered, a blush beginning to stain her cheeks. “Th-Thank you, for saving me, Mr. Buff Frog.”
The frog smiled and bent down so he was level with the child. “Please, just Buff Frog is fine. And you very welcome, little one.”
Daisy got a pouting look on her face, her cheeks puffing up cutely, as she whined, “Stop calling me 'little one'. My name is Daisy so call me that, okay?”
Buff Frog paused a look of surprise and confusion on his face, before he laughed out loud, a long hearty chuckle that drew everyone's attention onto him and left them all questioning what was so funny. He gently drew the girl in for hug, giving her a soft pat on the back. “Of course. Forgive me,” he said, unable to keep the smile off of his face. Children really were priceless sometimes. Although he loved Marco immensely and wouldn't change a thing about his precious son, he admitted a part of him missed taking care of a young kid, his time raising the young Marco challenging but fulfilling. Now that Marco was older and living with Star, a part of him missed how things used to be (the happy moments at least, he would give anything to go back and make it so that Marco never had to grow up under the lizard's iron rule) he had loved being a parent and looking after and raising his son were some of the greatest moments of his life, he just hadn't realized how greatly he was missing that until now.
“Um, Buff Frog, your kinda crushing me,” Daisy's muffled voice managed to snap the frog out of his thoughts, as he pulled the girl away from his chest finally and stood back up to his full height. “My apologies. Bow then after scary ordeal, would you and sister like snack,” he took the girl's hand, who just stared up at him with curious, eager eyes.
“Snack? But mommy didn't let us bring any candy,” Daisy said.
“Ahh yes, but I know where stash of candy bars is hidden. I put it there when I your age,” Buff Frog said with a wink.
The girl giggled and allowed him to lead her off in the direction of the hidden treat, the girl calling for her sister to come with, who wasted no time in joining them. Once Buff Frog had unearthed the treasure trove of candy and the two girls were happily chocking down candy bars as they leaned against the Monster's sides, Marco, who had finally escaped from the Monster's tight, clingy grasp, approached his father, saying sheepishly, “Um, hey, dad about what we talked about earlier-”
But Buff Frog quickly cut him off, shaking his head and declaring, “You don't have to tell me.”
“R-Really?” Marco said in surprise.
“Da, I realize now I overreact. You not little kid anymore. You old enough to take care of self. Sometimes I just have trouble remembering that. Whatever problem you having, I know you and Star can handle, otherwise you tell me.”
Marco nodded, letting out a long sigh. “Well I'm glad you feel that way, but...” Marco paused, looking over at Star for permission, who gave a small nod. “I-I don't think it's right to keep something like this hidden from you any longer. Have you... ever heard of a Monster named Rasticore?”
Buff Frog seemed surprised by this, but shook his head. “No, I haven't.”
“Well... he's this assassin guy, who kinda... attacked me and Star at the Orphan's Ball,” Marco said with a grimace.
The amphibian's eyes widened as he and all the other Monster exclaimed, “What?!”
Marco quickly waved his arms to try and calm them down. “No, no, we're both fine. It's okay.”
“Wait?! I thought you said that guy was a tax collector?” Lobster Claws asked in confusion.
“And you believed him?” Beard Deer scoffed in anger.
“Well, yeah, they can be very scary you know,” the crustacean argued, making several of the Monsters face-palm.
“Your an idiot,” Bearicorn muttered.
“But anyways,” Marco continued, after the interruption. “He got away and the King and Queen have been searching really hard to find him. But because it happened at the castle, we're having to keep it secret from everyone.”
Buff Frog nodded his head thoughtfully, his eyebrows furrowed. “That is for best, people would blame all Monsters if know the truth,” the amphibian agreed.
“That's what we were thinking,” Star said, joining in on the conversation as she moved to her boyfriend's side. “The only problem is, we're having a real tough time finding him, because we have no way to track him.”
Buff Frog was silent for a moment, clearly contemplating and both Star and Marco held their breath, holding each other's hands tight. Finally, after an agonizingly long time, the frog Monster responded, “I will ask around, see what I can find.”
The couple's mouths dropped open in shock at that, sharing a quick look, before turning back to the frog. “Th-That's it,” Marco managed to say.
“Da,” Buff Frog said, giving them a puzzled expression.
“Your not... worried?” Marco asked hesitantly, giving his dad a grimace of concern.
“Of course I worried. Is my job as father to worry over you,” Buff Frog said. “But... like I said before, I trust you to take care of self. And you have Star, you could be no safer with me than her.”
Star blushed at that, but she added softly, “Well that's not entirely true. He's after me, not Marco, so it's my fault that he...” Star's voice trailed off, the hurt in her tone as clear as day.
Buff Frog closed his eyes, his arms crossed in thought, but when they opened again he said, “All the more reason for you two to stay together.”
“Huh?” Star and Marco asked simultaneously. That was not the answer they were expecting.
“You two belong together,” the frog explained. “You need each other, especially in times of trouble and doubt. I meant what said earlier, you can handle problem as long as you have each other. And if you do need my help, then I be there.”
Marco gave his dad a loving, grateful smile, his voice chocked up, as he said, “Thanks, dad.” He couldn't believe he had ever doubted his dad enough to even think that he would separate him and Star. His dad loved him and he knew exactly how much Star meant to him, how crucial it was to keep her in his life. He had let his paranoia blind him from the truth that was right in front of him.
“You know,” Star spoke up, her voice light as she wrapped an arm around her bestie's shoulders. “Last time Rasticore showed up, apparently Marco managed to hold him off entirely on his own.”
Buff Frog and the other Monsters stared at their youngest in equal mixes of disbelief and pride and Marco felt his face flushing wildly. “W-Well, that's not entirely true,” Marco stuttered, tapping his fingers together shyly. “Kelly was there a-and Tom and Pony showed up and-”
“Come on, Marco, don't be so modest,” Star cooed, holding the boy close to her in a loving embrace. “Kelly told me the whole story and she said you gave that lizard a run for his money.”
“Well then, in that case, it seems I have nothing to worry about,” Buff Frog said, giving his son a delighted smile, which caused Marco to grin.
There was a sniff off to the side and everyone turned to see Beard Deer with tears running down his face. “Why are you crying?” Man Arm asked, giving the Monster a funny look.
“This is the proudest moment of my life,” Beard Deer whispered, before shouting, “My baby is growing up!”
“He'zz not even your baby,” Boo Fly pointed out and the deer Monster quickly rumbled, “Shut up, just let me have this!” wiping the tears out of his eyes with his claws.
Daisy and Violet laughed at the sight of the full-grown, tough-looking Monster in tears and even Star and Marco couldn't help but share a smile.
Buff Frog stood, putting his hands on the two's shoulders, staring down at them with a warm demeanor. “Now then... I believe sun will set soon. Why don't you two go spend last hours of day together?”
Star and Marco shared a look, the temptation clearly there for the both of them. “Are you sure?” Star asked, not wanting to agree if Buff Frog wasn't 100% okay with it.
He nodded, “Da.”
“But, I mean, we were supposed to spend the day together, we don't want to hurt your feelings,” Marco said, rubbing a hand up and down his arm.
“And you spent plenty of time with me,” Buff Frog said, giving his son's shoulder a reassuring squeeze. “But I know you must be desperate for some time alone.”
Star and Marco both nodded, eagerly. “We are,” Star admitted with a deep longing.
“Then go enjoy selves. I watch girls until you get back.”
Star and Marco didn't have to be told again, as they both ran off together, hands still entwined and wide smiles spread across their faces. Buff Frog watched them go, before going back over to sit with the girls, hoping the couple had a good time. Daisy and Violet looked up at the frog with curiosity. “Where are Big Brother and Star going?” Daisy asked.
“To spend time alone,” Buff Frog told them simply.
“Well why can't they spend time alone with us,” Violet asked, putting her hands on her hips and pouting.
“No, Violet they're going to kiss and stuff,” Daisy explained to her sister and Violet got a mischievous grin on her face.
“We should follow them and record the whole thing,” the creepy twin said, leaning closer to her sister.
“Yeah,” Daisy agreed, her face reflecting her sister's perfectly.
But a tutting from Buff Frog drew their attention. “Will do no such thing,” the frog said firmly. But his voice softened as he said, “How about we play game instead? Know many Monster games my father teach me.”
The two girls shared an enthusiastic grin, before pumping their fists in the air and shouting, “Yeah! Playtime with Uncle Buff Frog!”
This caught the Monster off-guard, but he smiled and chuckled to himself at the nickname, inwardly his heart soaring with joy.
“Okay, so wait, which Aureole sign are you?” Marco asked.
“I told you a pig-goat,” Star said once again, kicking her feet out over the ledge.
“Really?” Marco said cocking his head to the side. “That's just so strange.”
“Why is it strange?” Star asked in confusion.
“Well because, your super pretty and cool and everything and those pig-goats are... super creepy.” Marco shuddered against his will.
Star let out a snort. “Seriously? Your afraid of pig-goats.”
“Well, yeah. I woke up with one in my room a while back and it was just staring at me with these big beady eyes. I thought it was going to eat me.”
Now the blond royal full-on laughed at her adorable boyfriend, the hooded teen quickly joining in. Could he get anymore precious? Star thought as she leaned her head against his shoulder and he reciprocated the embrace, laying his head against hers, causing the two to sigh contently.
The two sat on the ledge above the large clearing below, the roar of the rushing waterfall a short distance away, though it didn't distract the two from their talk at all (which they had been at for hours straight now). They watched the Monster's below as they waited for the sun to be in proper setting position. They smiled as they saw Buff Frog rocking a now sleeping Daisy in his arms, the child exhausted from all of the doings of the day. Her twin was held in the safe and comfortable grasp of Bearicorn who looked nervous and hesitant holding the young one, as if afraid she might break, but with Buff Frog's coaching he began to relax some. The other Monsters looked jealous though that Bearicorn had been chosen shooting him death glares behind his back.
“So then, Diaz, which sign are you?” Star asked picking the conversation back up after a few seconds of silence from the two.
“I'm a Narwhal,” Marco said proudly, puffing his chest out a bit.
“What, no way?!” Now it was Star's turn to be surprised.
“Yeah, I definitely am, dad told me so,” Marco confirmed.
“Wow, how incredible is that!” Star declared, a bright beam on her face as she finally sat up, squeezing her cheeks in delight, her eyes shimmering. “My boyfriend's birthday sign is the same as my favorite spell!” she let out a loving sigh as she kissed his cheek, whispering gleefully, “Could you be anymore perfect?”
“Well I am dating the most amazing girl in the universe, so that is gonna be hard to top,” Marco said with one of those cute, signature smiles that just made Star melt.
“Ohhh you,” she cooed, pulling him closer so he was practically sitting on her lap as she led him in a breathless kiss. He wrapped his arms around her and closed his eyes just enjoying the moment, trying to get his sluggish mind to memorize every second of the wonderful act. Star smiled into the kiss as she felt his lips moving against hers in longing and she happily complied, deepening the kiss until the two were forced to pull away gasping for air, their cheek marks losing their glow as they separated.
“Wow, that was one of our best ones,” Star panted, her eyes shimmering from the magical experience.
Marco's eyes were half-lidded, the goofiest look on his face as he simply nodded and muttered, “Uh huh.” Star couldn't help but admire how precious her Marco was, this wasn't the first time one of her kisses had left him unable to speak but that didn't make it any less adorable. Suddenly a glow from the distance grabbed her attention as she swerved to see the sun had finally reached its peak on the horizon, luckily still visible over the treetops from this height. “Oh Marco it's starting,” Star gasped, grabbing him tightly by the arm.
Marco finally snapped out of his daze, his head clearing of the goo that was once functioning brain cells as he stared out at the enchanting sunset, the sky looking like something out of a painting, a picturesque setting to the end of another glorious day on Mewni. His heart skipped a beat at the beautiful sight, his mouth gaped open in awe and from next to him, Star looked the same. He had missed this so much, watching the sunset with his beautiful bestie and a part of him ached as he thought about all the sunsets he had missed while busy with the whole Commission thing.
He forced his eyes away from the captivating glow and onto the only sight in the dimensions that was more breathtaking than the setting sun, Star. “Hey um, Star,” he said slowly and the girl finally caught his eye, her blue eyes sparkling brighter than a thousand sunsets.
“Yeah, Marco,” Star said, a light, cute smile on her face as she stared at him expectantly.
“I was just gonna say, that I kinda missed this,” the hooded teen replied, before looking quickly away to hide his blush.
Star nodded. “Yeah me too,” the blond breathed, her voice nearly a sigh.
“And, also, I know we've been busy with stuff lately and since our first meeting is in a couple of days, it's probably only to get worse,” Marco continued, rubbing the back of his neck. “But watching the sunset with you is one of my favorite things in the world and... I don't want to lose that.”
Star gave his hand a gentle squeeze, her blue orbs dancing in the low light and his brown quickly followed suit. “I don't either,” she admitted, her heart cheek marks thumping once.
“Then let's make a promise,” Marco said excitedly, thrilled he wasn't going to lose one of his favorite activities with Star. “That no matter what, we meet up every day to watch the sunset together.”
Star smiled and nodded, but was caught off-guard as Marco held out a pinkie. “What are you doing?” she asked sweetly, an eyebrow slowly raising.
The boy gave her a naive look, “The twins told me this is what you do when you make a promise. Why did I do it wrong?”
Star shook her head. “No there a lot of ways to make a promise really. You can shake hands, hold each others pinkies, some people even spit on their hands,” Star explained.
Marco looked grossed out by the last one, saying, “Ugh, why would someone do that?”
“Don't know,” Star said with a shrug, she agreed it was disgusting. A coy smile spread across her face as she leaned closer to her boyfriend, till there noses were nearly touching. “But I know just the thing we should do to seal our promise.”
Marco's breath hitched at the look in Star's eye. “Wh-What?!” the hooded teen stuttered, wondering what possible thing his girlfriend could have in mind.
“This,” she said, leaning closer till there lips were slightly touching, then blew right into his mouth, making the boy cough as she laughed.
“Star,” he gasped out.
The girl just giggled and pulled him into a tight hug. “I'm just kidding, Marco. Obviously hugs are the way to go for us,” she said, laying his head against her chest.
Marco just held her back, listening to the gentle beating of her heart as he stared out at the sunset, already dreaming of the ones to come.

I wanted to do a drawing
of Sans’s secret twin sister San in AFAC style,
I even decided to give her a new color of clothes to make her well let’s say stand out from Sans, when she is dressed in the same color clothes as Sans, the only thing that is different is that she is female and the fact she always wears black tights
and like I said in the description over at Deviantart
San’s own Empathy
can be strong just like Sans’s own Apathy
this makes the two polar opposites of each other
plus I like the idea of San having the power of making herself or others either it be human or monster or pet or plant invisible
plus when I was posting this drawing over at Deviantart,
it had just hit me on that very day…..
that the outfit makes San look like a bee lol
and I decided that San is a double trait,
one side is Justice and the other side is Patience
San knows that Chara is being used as a scapegoat and they aren’t the real threat to the underground…
but San knows that Sans wouldn’t listen and he’s set in his mindset that Chara was always the evil one
but that isn’t true,
San knows that the reason Chara becomes all Geno-Chara is because of the corruption when the true anomaly convinces Frisk to kill,
it was never Chara who did this and San’s knows this
 and as I said before,
San knows that Chara is just being used
and she knows that Frisk is being used as a scapegoat  too
besides the whole having the ability to use invisibility
I like the idea that San can make others forget her, like before she moves to the capital
so she will no longer switch places with Sans,
so he could take a nap without Papyrus knowing.
one of the reasons why San left Snowdin
was because of Sans, being tired of trying to reason with someone who can’t see that Chara ain’t the real enemy and they are just being used as a scapegoat
can be emotionally draining,
I think the spell she could of used
could be called Amnesia Blizzard
like it appears as snow
but really it’s magic
if magically programed right
it will make one or more forget a certain subject or person.
San had programed it to make everyone including San and Papyrus forget her, well if Papyrus found out there were two of Sans and finds out he has a sister….
and well figuratively speaking
if San did exist in the AFAC AU
then she would still use such a magic
Amnesia Blizzard,
but could of used it when she was a child on Sans, Papyrus and Gaster to have them forget her while she ran away from home and lived maybe in the ruins,
but finding out about the riverperson
San uses the Amnesia Blizzard on them too
San knows that
depending on the programing of the magic spell
(which some monsters hardly use and they only use the shield or attack or healing forms of magic.)
the Amnesia Blizzard has it’s limits on how long it will last
which is why San would have to sneak into Sans and Papyrus’s rooms respectively and cast it and since Gaster has been in the dimension between time and space, the spell was able to last way longer because where Gaster was before, the spell was frozen.
but with Gaster being return,
San will have to cast the Amnesia Blizzard spell on him just as many times as she has done to Papyrus, Sans and Hermann
(remember this is all figuratively if she were in the AFAC, but I believe in any timeline and au, she would still use such magic such as amnesia blizzard, invisibility and any other magic she has learned)
I’m thinking of her being able to use Familiar Magic,
like being able to summon a Familiar and cast transformation spells.
and if I had to pick what kind of Familiar San would be bonded to
it would be a Magical Beast, not to be confused with how some monsters are anthropomorphic, a Magical Beast would be a type of magical animal that has been around much longer than monsters and humans and were the first magical beings that dominated the planet before monsters and humans came along.
San’s Familiar Magical Beast, is a Cat
well it takes the form of a normal house cat
but it’s true form is very big, like bigger than a lion or bear
so about half the size of a full grown elder dragon
I want to draw San’s Magical Beast Familiar XD
and transformation spells can be tricky on the first try
and it could of taken San 10 years to master it, well that is the idea I want to go with how long it took her to master such magic.
and even if some think it a double trait isn’t canon to Undertale
(or even Deltarune)
but in Nintendo Switch, it shows in the fight with Mad Mew Mew
(I like to call them Madmewy)
the soul is red on one side
and on the other it is a light blue or cyan color
which makes it a double trait, so Nintendo Switch has made Double Traits Possible and it’s just Fanon anymore.
but being a Double Trait could be a very rare thing to have
and I still believe that Kris’s true trait is Patience
this is because when they go to the dark world
their hair and skin become a type of blue color
(the hair might appear black but it’s really a dark blue)
this is because Kris, the real them is shining through even though they are being controlled by the Red Soul.
I know a lot of fans believe that the Red Soul is Determination
but I don’t believe that at all, I mean I use to but I believe that this Determination is really the Human’s Blood not the Soul
the Red Soul’s true name is Ambition
and when a human has both the flowing blood of determination and the soul of ambition inside of them, they work perfectly together and
are very powerful and are able to use the power of Reset
in theory maybe the other Humans with different Soul Trait
could his or her or their special powers
and once again Kris’s Soul Trait can not be the Red Soul
if it were, then Kris would of appeared Red in the dark world
not blue, them appearing as a blue color shows that the true soul inside them that is theirs is reflecting out
I believe that Susie’s soul trait is Perseverance
this is because she still appears purple when she goes to the dark world but I guess depending on the shad of purple if it matches the soul the color could be light or dark
if the monster is already one of the two.
plus if I had to pick who to trust more Flowey or Ralsei
I’m going to have to go with Flowey, even if Ralsei might seem sweet and kind......I know they are hiding something....and it ain’t no way that he’s the true Prince of The Dark with all those Delta Runes around his home.....he looks like a Angel and talks like a Angel,
but he’s a Demon Lord in disguise!
you know like those RPG where the Hero has to face a Demon Lord...
and if it’s okay to say, if Toriel’s OTP is Rose & Greg
I can’t help but think Sans’s twin sister San’s OTP
would be Eclipsa & Globgor
Globgor is AWESOME,
and for me those two are the perfect One True Pairing
and I believe that if I had a counterpart in SVTFOE
they would be a Mewman/Monster, this is because I had figured out the similarities that the mewmans and monsters have to those in real life from the history of how America was formed.
so my great-great-grandmother was a full Cherokee
so if I lived in the fictional world of SVTFOE
my great-great-grandmother in that world would be a Monster
Star’s own Great-Great-Grandma Shy
(Full Name Celena Butterfly, also called Celena The Shy)
was clearly a hybrid between a Mewman and Monster
I did a drawing of Celena, Garnet, Baby Meteora, Steven and Lancer
over at Deviantart, the drawing has writing on it
it says “We Are Made of Love”
the reason why I added Lancer into it, is because of my new theory which is that Lancer’s mother was a Lightener either Human or Monster type Lightener.
Meteora is more than the two of Eclipsa and Globgor
she is her father’s fury and her mother’s patience
she is a fusion of love between a monster and mewman
and fusions ain’t gonna follow human, mewman or monsters rules
cause they are made of love
not the Level of violence love, but Love.
anyway I really think the Black & Yellow outfit works for San
and they really do look like a bee wearing it XD
the next time I draw San in such a outfit, I think I will change the socks.
I can’t wait to see the episode of SVTFOE where we will finally see “Marco Jr.” but even if Marco’s little sibling is suppose to be a boy we can’t just rule out the possibility of them being either a boy or girl
I’m thinking up drawing up a new Fem-Agender Flag
Fem-Agender
(which is with those who were born female but feel agender too)
are half binary & half non-binary, the same can be said for those who were born male but feel between their birth gender
and being agender too.
I mean in most timelines and au
Chara, Frisk and Kris are either Male, Female or Agender
so why not Fem-Agender and Male-Agender too?
plus I still believe that a Chara who is born male in each timeline
and goes by the male pronouns, would hate humanity because of the name they were given.....cause once again Chara is a REAL NAME and isn’t from the word Character.
the only name that is truly a name that is shared between a boy and girl
would be Kris, well Sam too and any other unisex names
the name Chara is a Girl’s name
and it doesn’t come from the word Character,
but it appears some have mistaken it to be so.
and I know some know the truth about the name Chara
by the way when I say that the Submit as well as Asks are closed
I mean it is closed to everyone, I can still submit some stuff but only if I open up the submit once again and well I guess there are still other ways to submit but I like this better.
so after posting this up,
I’m going to have the submit back to being closed.
I decided to make a Ask Kris, and even have them be Fem-Agender
and well in other timelines
they could be Female or Male or Male-Agender or Agender.
but yeah the asks are closed.
anyway see ya later and stay safe everyone.

Day 3: Culture Clash
Hey everyone, Mr.E here with the next prompt of @wholesome-week Culture Clash!  Star takes Marco on a surprise visit to Mewni to learn more about the wonderful lovely plants of her dimension. Meanwhile Tom decides to pop in on the Diaz household and finds an unexpected host.
Canon universe of course.
I changed up the prompt a bit but hey I hope you get some enjoyment out of this. Have a great weekend, keep being awesome! enjoy!
Day 1: http://mrevaunit42.tumblr.com/post/155983804347/day-1-cooking
Day 2: http://mrevaunit42.tumblr.com/post/156420641822/angie-and-moon-have-a-talk-featuring-el-tigre-vs
“YAY! I am so excited for today!” Star beamed happily, her grin wide and infectious, so much so that Marco was in equally good spirits whether he realized it or not.
“Me too. It's not every day we get to visit Mewni without having to hide from your parents” Marco agreed, able to take in a proper view of Star's hometown without the hiding from sight condition attached to the trip.
Mewni may have been some sort of perfect step by step recreation of the medieval ages but rather off putting, Marco the historical nerd found the second journey to the dark ages just as enjoyable as the first.
Possibly more since nothing was currently trying to kill him or his parents.
“This is so fascinating” Marco muttered outloud, fanny pack and phone at the ready “What's the occasion Star?”
“ooooh nothing special” Star cooed playfully “Just a little exposure to Mewman culture! I mean you looooove learning about new things so why not Mewni?”
“Haha that's great Star!” Marco smiled brightly “But you know you could've taught me at home.”
“I know but hey, why not have an up close and personal experience?”
“As long as we don't go into the Forest of death, I'm all in”
“No worries Marco” Star assured her best friend, placing a hand comfortingly on his shoulder “We're not leaving town. There's an exhibit I thought you'd like to see! Come on!”
Marco allowed the energetic princess to slip her hand into his, pulling him along the dirt road that led to Star's big surprise.
There was a crackling. the smell of burnt fabric filling the air as a raging flame appeared from nowhere, charring the colorful rug found in the middle of the room as a figure walked out of the blaze unharmed.
“Hey Star” Tom called out, arms full of perfectly unmelted ice cream bars and sandwiches “Marco! I brought ice cream to apologize for the whole cursing Marco thing. I promise there's nothing wrong with these though you sure try this choco blast flavor Marco. It's to die for.”
“Subtle”
Tom blinked, staring into a near empty room with not a trace of his ex girlfriend or best friend to be found.
What he did find, however, was someone lazily laying Star's bed, flipping through a book labeled “Marco's journal” in a laidback fashion.
“...umm....hey” Tom waved, dropping the frosty treats into the bonfire behind him
A peer of brown eyes glanced his way, looked him over once and gave a disinterested nod.
“hey” the dark blue haired girl replied nonchalantly
“aren't you Marco's stalker?” Tom asked curiously, certain he'd seen this girl before.
“That's deputy mayor and unofficial Marco stalker to you red” Janna with a dull edge, her eyes focused on the book and not the demonic teen who just teleported into the room via flames.
“Red?” Tom glared, eying his hair before shifting his gaze angrily back towards Janna.
“psstyeah” Janna rolled her eyes “Cuz the fire and stuff.”
“Oh.....” That was not the answer Tom was expecting “Wait, wait, wait. What are you doing in Star's room?”
“As deputy mayor” Janna started in the most apathetic voice she could muster “It is my job to ensure that the mayor's stuff is untouched while she's away with Marco on some sort of date or whatever.”
“DATE?!”
Janna sighed tiredly, lifting off her beanie and patting out the solitary flame that spontaneously combusted onto the accessory while Tom paced furiously back and forth, little flaming footsteps in his wake.
“Date?! DATE!? I THOUGHT THEY WEREN'T DATING?! UGH THAT LITTLE LYING....I MEAN I AM IMPRESSED BECAUSE THEY FOOLED ME BUT STILL! UGH I SHOULD'VE PUT THE BALDING CURSE ON MARCO! THAT WOULD”VE STOPPED HIM.”
“Whoa, whoa slow down hot head” Janna raised her hands in a calming manner “I said or whatever too. No need to get worked up over your unresolved issues.”
“MY ISSUES ARE RESOVLED!” Tom shrieked, eyes a blood red and fangs sharp as a nearby desk burst into flames without warning.
Janna looked at the flaming pile of wood then quietly glanced back at Tom once again, clicking her tongue slowly followed by a disbelieving “Riiiiiiiiight.”
“That is so like Star!” Tom whined “and I expected better from Marco. Truly disappointing.”
“So.....what are you going to do then?” Janna asked inquisitively “Sit here and wait for them to come back?”
“Yes!” Tom scoffed “What else would I do?”
“I got an idea” Janna smirked mischievously
Marco eye's went wide as the duo entered the small, greenhouse-like building tucked away in the back of a very shady looking alley Marco would've normally questioned but was far too caught up in the elegant and breathtaking flowers that filled the countless planters that were scattered about.
“Welcome!” Star gestured to the entity of the exhibits “To the wonderful world of Mewnman plants! Ta daaaaaa!”
Marco chuckled as Star gave an eager jazz hand flourish
“This is awesome! I didn't know Mewni had so many different plants.”
Indeed there were countless shapes and shades sprinkled throughout though there were only a handful or so people with the visiting couple. Like Earth, it seemed Mewni was generally uninterested by what they thought of as common.
But screw that, Marco was totally into this.
“Mewni has a diverse array of flowers, found throughout the land” Star explained as she and Marco walked towards the nearest plant “each with a different environmental defense.”
Marco mindlessly nodded, only half listening to the words coming out of Star's mouth.  This was exciting! This was amazing! So  much planet life, so much to learn! Maybe he could take back some plants and grow them in the garden that way Star always had a bit of home close by while she was staying with them.
“What's this one?” Marco tried to keep the excitement out of his voice but Star picked up on it instantly. Try as he might, Star had gotten very proficient at picking up Marco's general attitude.
“This” Star motioned to the deep rich purple and black rose-like flower that hung in a limp manner “Is called DeepFoot. It's usually found in the plains of crying feet North of here.”
“Ooooo” Marco gave a muffled squeal, his light brown eyes wide with wonder and awe “This is a good looking plant.”
Star's smile was too big for her face. This was going perfectly! Marco loved this trip! For once everything was....
“hey buddy” Marco spoke gently towards the flower, leaning closer to get a better look “You want to take a picture with the coolest guy ever? Alright, if you insist.”
“Marco!” Star cried out, reaching for her best friend's sleeve as he positioned himself next to the DeepFoot, rising the phone high to take a selfie with one hand and another wrapped around the plant playfully.
The DeepFoot twitched, a subtle movement that was missed by the unsuspecting hood wearing Marco but not by Star.
Marco's grin faded as he stared at his phone, the tiny screen showing the DeepFoot's petals widening, razor sharp teeth protruding from inside. Its stem arched back before lashing forward as quick as lightning.
“Ah!” Marco shouted, clutching his hand fearfully while Star pulled him away at the last possible second, the sounds of crunching plastic and electronic bits being munched into smaller and smaller bits.
The DeepFoot burped, flecks of what was once Marco's cell phone sprayed across his face.
Before Star or Marco could react, the DeepFoot gave a shudder, an unwell growl came from its stem before it folded forward, the colors faded and washed away.
“Marco! Look what you did! You made it sick”
“Me?” Marco couldn't keep the disbelief out of his tone as Star leaned forward to check on the little flower “It tried to eat me! WITH TEETH! IN ITS BUD! WITH TEETH”
“Ooooh” Star patted the flower gingerly “Sorry little plant. He didn't mean too. Feel better okay?”
Marco didn't know if it was the trauma talking or if he was losing his mind because he could've swore he saw the flower gave a weak nod in response.
“Well....” Star nervously chuckled “Let's try the next one, the Ankle Biter.”
Marco's eyes narrowed into a glare.
“Dude, just order” Janna nudged Tom in the side “It's not hard.”
“I don't even know what I'm looking at” Tom answered, eyes darting back and forth.
“It's a menu.”
Tom and Janna found themselves at the local Mcdonald's, a pasty teen anxiously waiting for the strange teen with demon horns to hurry up and order.
“I don't even know why I'm here” Tom sighed “They don't have anything good. Where's the tormented souls? Where's the broken hopes and dreams with a side order of pain and misery.”
“They're serving your food. Just get something. We don't have all day.”
“I didn't even want to come here!”
“Well you're here now so just order something.”
“Fine” Tom pouted, arms crossed “Give me a...I don't know an order of chicken nuggets and some fries.”
“umm” The pasty teen murmured “okay and you?”
Janna shrugged “I'll have a Big Mac and a soda.”
“Wait” Tom patted his pockets “I don't have my wallet.”
“You do” Janna said, pulling a black and red wallet with a cartoonish skull on its surface  out of her beanie “I just borrowed it for lunch, here you go.”
The cashier's gaze fell on some blood red notes with funny Latin symbols in Janna's hand.
“Umm....I don't think we take Blood Notes....anymore.”
“Shame” Janna clicked her tongue, checking her fingernails for nonexistent dirt “Because the prince of the Underworld does not like being denied.”
“Denied??” Tom stared at Janna in confusion “I don't even want to eat here. How did I even get here? I...”
Crack.
The only sound that was heard throughout the restaurant as Janna slammed her foot onto Tom's without warning.
The pasty teen's face received a nice tan as a plum of smoke and flame engulfed Tom's form, his eyes pure red, glowing despite the daylight pouring from the windows.
The cashier wiped the soot from his eyes and found Janna smirking at him, eyebrows wiggling with the promise of more demonic hijinks if he did not comply.
“Thank you for eating at McDonald’s”
Janna gave a cute, uncharacteristic girly grin “thank you!”
Tom fumed, huff and puffing with an intense rage, the flames growing each passing second and threatening to burn everything to a char black crisp.
“MY FURY KNOWS NO BOUNDS” Tom's voice was laced with the overtones of a demonic choir “I WILL NOT SUFFER THIS INJUSTICE ANY LONGER! I WILL BURN YOUR BODY TO ASH, I SHALL CHAR YOUR VERY SOUL AND TAINT IT WITH THE FIRES OF THE UNDERWORLD ITSELF!”
Tom rose into the air, consumed by raging fire.
Janna's face was indifference as she reached behind the counter, ignoring the cowering cashier while pulling out  a small tiny toy from the basket.
“Hey” Janna held up the tiny toy “Look.”
The flames died, Tom fell to the ground with a mighty thud, cracking the smooth tile floor beneath as he rose to his feet.
“Oh cool, is that a puppy?”
“Yep, yours if you stop burning down everything”
Tom sighed in defeat “Fine.”
“Cool. Let's go find our table.”
The cashier shook as the two walked over to a nearby table, acting like nothing just happened.
“STAAAAR HELP!” Marco yelled at the top of his lungs as he tried to pry his trapped arm from the massive of stems and flowers that wrapped themselves around his figure.
“Awww” Star held her hands together, looking adorably towards her best friend and the plant that held him hostage “he likes you!”
“STAR!”
Marco went along with the rest of the trip, hoping that the rest of the flowers would be more tame compared to the opener.
Unfortunately, it all went downhill from there.
Plant that spat acid before they ate you, Plants that would throw paralyzing thorn at those who ventured too close (thank god for the Mewman who cut in front of Marco), Plants that would pretend to be a food that you were craving before trying to swallow you whole. Plants that only existed if you thought they did and try to eat you. Plants that would hypnotize their prey into coming closer, plants that you can only see out of the corner of your eye as they approached. Plants that set themselves on fire, that froze the very air itself, that were able to create a mirror image of yourself and confuse you to which was the safe one to touch. All sorts of predatory plants with a common theme: being carnivorous.
The last plant on the list was named Kraken which should've been an obvious sign but Marco couldn't say no to Star's puppy dog face, chanting “please let this one be normal, please be normal.”
it wasn't
Marco still couldn't even see the body of the plant through all the thrashing: both of his body and waves it was causing across the surface of its massive water tank. The tentacle-like stems were a sickly green, thick as a tree trunk with pretty sky blue flowers and petals sparsely covering its surface.
“STAR!” Marco cried out again, flailing his one free hand wildly.
“AWWW HI MARCO!” Star waved in return “DON'T WORRY IT'LL TAKE AN HOUR BEFORE IT TRIES TO EAT YOU”
“STAR!”
“MARCO!”
“STAAAAAAAR!”
“MAAAAAARCO!”
Janna felt strange as Tom walked her to the front of the Diaz household, a comfortable silence between them as they calmly made their way to the door, frosty treats in their hand.
“This was not a complete waste of a trip” Tom said comfortably “I mean I didn't get to torment Marco but hey at least I found the joy of McDonald’s.”
“Right?” Janna murmured, hungrily dropping the ice cream into her waiting maw “I told you'd like it.”
“You did. You know I'm going to get you back for the wallet right?” Tom glanced towards Janna.
“If you didn't, I wouldn't respect you anymore” Janna shot back with a wink.
“You respect me?” Tom asked with a smile.
“Nope” Janna said with a flirty smile.
“Next time?” Tom questioned hopefully
Janna shrugged nonchalantly, bored and uninterested “We'll see. Maybe if I don't have anything else to do.”
“See you Janna”
and just like that Tom vanished in a whirl of smoke and flames.
Janna let out a sigh of relief, a faint trace of blush painting her cheeks.
“I can't wait Red.”
Janna grinned the goofiest grin she could as she walked inside the house and came to face to face with Mr. and Mrs. Diaz surprised but happy to see her.
“Janna, are you here for Star and Marco?”
“yeah” Janna answered with a dazed smile “I'll wait if that's okay with you.”
“Okay sweetie, come on I'll make you some lunch.”
Janna sighed once again
“That sounds great. Just perfect.”

Sky And The Forces Of The Multiverse, Chapter 4
Previous / Next
Sky woke up to find someone poking her cheek, she grumbled, grabbing her pillow and slapping it at whoever as poking her. "Hey hey!! Spade sister!! Are you up?!" Sky snapped her eyes open to see one big bright green eyes staring down at her, and she practically jumped in response. Sky almost wished she'd have woken up to all the nonsense of last night having been a dream, but here was Galexia to prove her wrong and make her realize just how messed up her realty had become in a spam of one night. After the shock, sky's brows furrowed, Galexia was clearly a few years older then her, in fact the girl looked to be Judas's age now that she thought about it. And yet, she was acting almost like a child, this is the kinda behavior sky imagined a younger sister to be like, not an older one. "What are you....why are you in my bedroom?". "Because scary girl wants to leave and she made me come get you!" "Scary gir-?", Sky was about to ask before sighing, Luna.
She yawned before getting herself out of bed, she gave galexia a look before heading out of her room to the one across from it. On one hand maybe she should've let these girls stay in her room, but then again if her mom burst in she'd have a lot of explaining to do about why there were two random girls staying in her bedroom. Yeah, maybe risking them escaping was a better idea. Luckily, it appears luna had not attempted to escape, in fact she was sitting on the bed, twiddling her wand between her fingers and reading a book Sky could've sworn wasn't in this room before. She didn't even look at her as she spoke, "Good you're up, we can start getting us home now...". Sky's brows furrowed, "Are you kidding me?". "No, i'm not...I have things to do and i'm not staying here any longer, go call your demon friend, pick up those other girls i suppose....and let's finish this..", She was still staring at the book, but could tell Sky was tapping her foot in annoyance. "I don't know how to send you back yet...I-I'm not even sure what got you here...", She blubbered out, and the girl on the bed wasn't impressed."Well, then get your wand looked at! You know the spell that allows you to check spells you've previously performed on that wand right?". The girl shifted her eyes, "...Yes?". Luna closed her book and stood up, her leg must've been feeling better as she walked seemingly normal all the way over to sky with her wand. "Fine, i'll do it, i can use my own wand on yours...", she pointed her wand at sky's and a faint glow shifted between them as sky's wand projected out some of her last spells in a holographic form. There was of course the bubble prison she performed last night, her spells she was practicing from eclipsa's books, her presentation stuff, but then there was this static shape that didn't look like anything Sky performed recently. Luna raised an eyebrow, "Ok, that's gotta be the spell that impossibly brought me here....but it doesn't appear to be here....hmm." "Hmm?" "Well, You don't seem clever to know how to cover up this, and this looks far from normal.....", she replied, "er....no offence.". Sky snorted, " I'm used to it by now...but.....does this mean my wand is broken or something?". The blonde made a face, "Er.....maybe? It's not something I've seen before but it must be pretty serious for it to be covered up like this...". Then she eyed sky suspiciously, "Has your wand always been this screwed up?". "Maybe, i dunno....i can't tell if it's broken or i'm just bad at using it....", Luna made a little "Hmm", before retracting her wand and turning her back to sky, "Well if we can't find the source of what brought us here, then getting back home will be a lot trickier i suppose...". Galexia, who had been quiet this whole time, jumped onto the bed, face first planted into the mattress.  Luna gave the strange girl a look, "To be honest, i don't want to think i'm in some bizarro alternate reality, and part of me is still doubting it, but the longer i'm here....the more i realize there is NO way i'm home.." The blunette raised an eyebrow at her, "Why, what perfect world do you come from?". "A world where i'm not forced to sleep next to her and where i'm in charge, that's what...", She replied back, "This place might look like home, but even i can tell something's not right about it....it feels less...orderly, and if there's one thing about my kingdom, is that it was as organized as it could get." "Oh thanks...", sky's sarcastic tone was unmissed by Luna, "Just being honest, though i guess what do i expect from an alternate reality? At least i'm not in one where Toffee took over or my mother got killed or.....", she shivered, "Ugh...I don't even want to imagine a reality where Meteora got her way once she got out of hand...". Toffee? Meteora? how similar and different were their worlds exactly? Her thought process must have been showing on her face as the girl looked at her and kept speaking, "You do know who those are do you? Or is this bizarre world so strange that they don't even exist?". Sky snapped out of her thoughts, and waved her hands, "Nah nah nah, Toffee is dead, and Meteora passed on when her 300 years finally caught up to her...". "Oh.....interesting...". "How is that interesting?". "Because that's not what happened in my world....", Luna went on, "Hmm, if that's different i wonder how much else is different...". She paced around her room and tapped her wand on her chin, "I mean, it's similar, but also different enough that it's curious...". Sky was about to ask for more on the matter before she heard some footsteps coming down the hallway, and Luna must've had superior hearing as he grabbed galexia by the collar and hid them on the other side of the bed just for safety. Sky froze in place, and relaxed when the footsteps passed. Alright, no more talking, it really didn't matter what kinda worlds these gals came from, all that mattered was solving this mess before they were found out or before the high commission could find them. She was wasting time. And Luna seemed to be thinking the same thing as she got up with Lexi and made her way forward towards the door, "Alright, no more dawdling, that method to find out some answers might have been a bust but i'm not staying here and wasting my time anymore....c'mon...lead the way..". "To where?", the blunette replied. "To wherever we can research some spells to get us back home, because as far as i know, the library i remember was swallowed up by a black hole in your "universe". The girl couldn't deny she had a fair point, "Well, no, no black hole, though i may of....damaged a few wings on accident with jude...". "You what?" "C'mon, let's just go, you're in a rush right?", Sky taunted, opening the door for her and galexia. Luna rolled her eyes and followed suit and galexia looked at sky as she followed her, "Maybe you damaged the wings but at least you didn't damage the beak." Sky made a cringing face of utter confusion on whether that was a poor joke or the girl simply thought they were talking about a bird, then just shook it off. "Let's just get this over with...". She grabbed the girl's arms and motioned for them to wait, which lead to an eyebrow raise from luna. "What are you doing?" Sky opened her bedroom door and walked inside, "First that's first, I'm Changing, i'm not walking around in my jammies...". - Sky's new siblings were already starting to burden her day. But Judas wasn't faring much better. He sat at his family's private breakfast table, glaring at the two girls as they ate some food he shuck in for them from the kitchens. His parents, nor brothers had ran into him yet but in his head he was trying his hardest to figure out how he'd even explain the two's presence with sky's lousy cover. Maybe if he were lucky he'd run into none of them and get these girls out of here before he saw any of them. But then again, he was judas, the child well known for being cursed and honestly he had no faith in how fast he could move either of these two. How slow they were eating wasn't helping. They made him feel suspicious, one of them looked way too chipper to the point in which he wondered if she was even normal, and the other looked like she's kill him with one look into her chocolaty eyes. Judas has raised his younger siblings of course, and babysitting wasn't odd for him, but taking care of these random strangers was set up for disaster. The demon girl especially was weirding him out, what made her buy she was in another dimension so easily? Judas knew if he was in her shoes he'd be on his toes even if he had seen a picture of his parents with someone else or even if the castle has some suspicious changes he'd still be suspicious of his surroundings, she was taking it all too well and it made him nervous. He stared at them in awe, noting all the traits they shared with his own parents, it was scary. Celeste didn't speak a word to him when he took her here last night, she clearly didn't like spending the night in a hot, dark, underworld room, but after mumbling some rather unfriendly things to him she accepted it. Sunny seemed right at home though, eating her breakfast happily and rather enjoying herself. She must have noticed Judas's odd expression must have caught her eye though, as she stopped eating to talk to him,"You alright?". The boy cut his staring fast, "No, it's....i'm not alright, I-I'm still trying to process all of this....". "Yeah...it's....it's weird....", Sunny added, "But it's ok! I mean, something just went wrong and we'll be home by tonight!". Judas didn't hide his worry very well, "Well, yeah sure, but don't you think it's just kinda.....odd that....we're all....y'know?". "Related?", The brunette mewman said, almost making judas jump, "Yeah no kidding it's super weird, like i can't even believe my dad or my mom would marry king lucitor but i guess some weird stuff went down if you both exist..". "Er....well technically four of us....i have brothers...", judas added, "But that's besides the point.....it's just.....strange.". Celeste stuffed another egg into her mouth, "I'll say, this is like an utter nightmare and i'd rather i get out of it and forget i was even here..". The boy glared at her but prompted to ignore any possible insults she might have been throwing at him, "After we finish eating you guys are going right back to sky and hopefully she can just fix whatever this mess is while i get back home...". The smaller demon frowned, "You're not coming with us?". "I have things to do...", he said plainly, "I have my own schedule and every morning i do a workout routine, and do some studying, feed Lucy, I just can't afford to stick around. Besides, i'm not going to be much help, this is clearly not my kinda magic...whatever it is..". "Oh..", sunny said, "Sorry....". "No, i-it's fine, you guys have nothing to-", Judas paused when he heard the door open and a horned teen with three red eyes and dark pink hair stepped in with a dark t-shit and shorts. Landon paused at the sight of the two girls at the table and Judas felt himself start to sweat. "Uh....", the middle prince stared at the girls, who both looked him up and down when they heard him enter. They seemed to tell alone by his looks he was one of the brother's judas was referring to, and before they could say anything judas immediately got up to pull his brother into the hallway before he got too close of a look at them. Landon struggled against him but his brother was way stronger and he knew it, "Jude! What the-! Hey! Let go of me! Who are those gir-?!". The purple skinned boy shushed him and removed his hands from him, "They're just some of sky's....extended family.....they needed a place to stay...". Judas knew this lie was stupid, but it was all he had. "Extended family..?", Landon crossed his arms, he clearly wasn't buying it and Judas didn't blame him, "Right? And why exactly is sky's extended family staying with us? Pretty sure mom and dad would've told us if we had guests..." "Well...". Landon smirked, "Well, if these two ladies are sky's family, i'll just go check up with mom and dad abo-", he turned to leave before judas grabbed onto his arm and forced him back. "Don't!", judas was pretty much blowing their cover but honestly who was going to fall for it anyway? "Aw jude? But i'm sure mom and dad would LOVE to meet your little girlfriends!", the boy was smiling evilly and judas regretted teasing him so much yesterday,"Alright, how much do you want to not spill it?".. The boy shrugged, "Depends, what exactly are they doing here really? Like i swear to good if y-". "Landon...", judas gave him a disgusted , "No, it's.....they're friends sky needed me to watch, it's not a big deal alright?." "If it's not a big deal why did you even try lying to me?" the younger demon stared his older brother straight in the eyes, " You never hide things from our parents unless it's a big deal, now spill it, or i spill the beans to our parents in a matter of minutes...". "You won't believe me..." "Try me..." "Well, they're...", he bit his lip, "We think they're.....sisters of sky's from alternate universes?" Landon blinked all his eyes a few times and looked at his brother with a expression of pure confusion, "Yeah, you're right, i don't believe you..". Judas rubbed his arm, "Look, it's weird, but i'm being serious! Sky's wand went on the fritz and they popped out apparently and they claim to be related to us!". Landon raised an eyebrow, "Yeah, so basically they're crazy then? Dude, that is the dumbest thing I've heard in awhile! And you believed them? Seriously jude?". Judas huffed, "Look, i'm still suspicious about the whole thing myself, but they have wands, and markings, and they look like our parents! It's creepy!". Landon bit his lip, then proceeded to walk past his brother and back into the room in which the girls were still sitting there eating, sunny turning to look at the demon entering and Celeste keeping her back to them. Landon walked up to Sunny as Judas reentered the room, sky was probably going to be upset Landon found out but granted her cover up wasn't very smart to begin with. Then he took another look at Celeste, who gave him a dirty look. Landon's skeptic face turned into one of interest as he stared sunny down then backed up to his brother, "Ok well, i guess it's a little off she has our dad's nose, or that that one has his horns and eyes, but it's still kinda a stretch to assume they're some weirdos from another universe...". "Fine, whatever, don't believe me....I wouldn't either...", the older demon sighed as sunny went back to eating, "Just don't tell mom or dad, i'm taking them back to sky very soon, they'll be gone before tonight, i promise...it's like they weren't even here..". Landon held out his hand, "Fine whatever, but you owe me a new violin bow...". Judas grumbled, the things he did for Sky, "Fine, just keep your mouth shut...". Landon walked towards the fridge and pulled out an apple, taking a bite out of it before heading out of the small kitchen/dining room, "Whatever you say brother...". The door closed behind him and Judas was about to sigh in relief only to see Celeste glaring at him, "Wow you suck at your job.  You had one job, not tell anyone squat, and apparently you couldn't even do that for like a day...", the boy crossed his arms, "Well, you two didn't even try mind-erasing him. Like what was I supposed to do? The lie didn't work!". Celeste shrugged, "Hey, He's not my issue, i didn't want to be babysitted anyway, i'll be out of here by tonight," but before judas could comment sunny played with the strands of her unusually colored hair, "I don't like that spell....if it backfired...". Judas sighed, "Alright, well i took care of it anyway...now just eat up and let's get a move on before my parents walk in..because i can guarantee i can't convince them to keep this a secret". The girls exchanged looks, "Well, they're OUR parents too, i think we already know what they're like...". the prince crossed his arms and stared straight at celeste "Look, you clearly don't like me, but can you just please keep quiet till you get home? I let you guys stay here because sky's my friend and you guys needed help, I really don't wanna be berated for it....." Celeste rolled her eyes and finished up and Sunny soberly joined her, Judas pulled out his compact to text sky, keeping his third eye on his guests. Judas: Sky, fyI landon knows now Sky's texts came soon Sky: WAT Judas: I told you your cover wasn't going to work Sky:What happened to mind-erasing or whatever? Judas: I was lucky enough to end up with the two girls who refused to even attempt to do it Sky: Ugh well, i'm not much better, i can't find the spell that got them here! Judas: Well, you better figure it out soon! I'm going to bring them to you shorty, remember our deal? Sky: yeah yeah, if nothing works i talk to the MHC Judas: I'll see you shorty Sky: K Judas put away his compact to see the girls finished eating, and judas sighed in relief as he peeked out for anyone coming with no sign whatsoever of his folks. "Alright, now you've eaten, let's just get you back to sky and -"Judas almost stumbled as the ground of the castle started moving like an earthquake. Celeste gripped the table and sunny almost feel out of her chair, "What the heck was that?!", the brunette girl spated at him. "Is this some kinda of trap?!", the boy held his wands out in front of him qucikly before she could draw her wand, "No no no....it's just....Lucy..". "Whose-?" Just then a loud bark could be heard echoing though the castle, and the demon stiffened . He coughed and reached up to mess with his hair, "Our cerebres .....sounds like she got out again and is looking for her own breakfast....don't panic, she's frendly!". Sunny's eyes lit up and a huge smiled formed on her face,  "A puppy!!?". "Well, she's about 4 years old, but....yeah....she's kinda like a big puppy..", he took a breath as the rumbling settled, "But right now don't worry, the servants will get her, right now we have to focus at the task at hand and i'm getting you both to sk-". "PUPPY!" Judas watched Sunny race right past him, pushing him aside to go out into the hallway, and judas had to act fast. He was intended to send her back using fire, but unfortunately that's not what happened. And judas sensed it before it even came. His right hand started growing a deeper purple, his fingers became one, and beofr ejudas knew it his monster arm reached out to grab the girl and pull her back. Sunny almsot had the wind knocked out of her as somethign forced her back and on instinct something long popped out of her dress, wielding a knife ,and before judas could react it stabbed the arm. Judas screamed, stepping back in pain as sunny was dropped. She has a tail, and that tail has been holding onto a knife for god knows how long. And she stabbed judas's cursed arm. Sunny watched the boy fall to the ground in pain, her tail retreating back into her dress, no longer interested in the dog she ran over as judas's arm turned back into his normal right hand,."Oh my god...i-i'm so sorry it was an instinct and i didn't...and....i'm so sorry..!, judas was bleeding, "I-I....", he hissed. Celset was standing at the doorway, having seen the whole thing, "how....what....?." "D-Don't just stand there!",he said, " Get me some medical help I-". His arm had a fresh wound in it, blood trickling down his arm, Sunny was starting to cry when celeste pulled out her wand. "Magical healing wound blast....", Judas felt the pain go away as quickly as it entered, his arm looking good as new and the blood gone. "Move your arm, does it feel normal?", Celsete was still looking at him with utter lack of care, and it left judas flabbergasted as she seemed to have fixed him up on a dime. Though that didn't fix how sick he felt to his stomach about being stabbed in the arm, and he felt himself cough. "J-Judas? I-I'm so sorry, i keep a knife on my tail for enemies, and i though you were an enemy and-", She raced forward and pulled the tall boy into a hug, "I'm sorry i'm sorry, i'm sorry". Judas got himself together before wrapping an arm around the girl till she stopped hugging him and Celeste got annoyed with their make up session. "Ok enough, you wanna explain why your arm just got brig and slimy for some reason mr prince? Cause i just witnessed your freaky arm wrapped around her like some sort of-", Judas cringed, "Tentacle? Look...it's....it's not important...m-my arm ....it feels normal.....we should just..". He made a move to stand up and Sunny helped pull him up as he flt around his arm, Sunny bashfully was hiding her tail again under her dress and she guiltily looked at the boy, "Yeah...let's....let's go home...". Celeste seemed as though she still wanted to know what just happened but she dropped it for now as sunny made sure she had her wand and grabbed on to judas's hand to teleport. judas couldn't help but stare at Celeste before they teleported out, how she just walked over and healed his wound in a flash. Sky sure couldn't perform healing spells like that. "Would you quit staring at me and get us out of here before you start bleeding again?", judas took his eyes off the brunette and grasped onto her hand tightly to teleport back to mewni castle. This day was getting better and better. - Sky didn't spend a ton of time in the butterfly castle's library, mostly because of her lack of interest in schoolwork and studying, but Luna seemed right at home as she went through book after book. A large pile of books stacking on top of each other on her table, sky watched her face constantly shift from worry to frustration to worry again. She clearly wasn't finding any results, even through Queen Skywynne's spell records, and she knew about time and space more then any other mewni queen! And Luna not finding out a solution seemed to be killing her on the inside. Meanwhile Galexia was searching through picture books of all things and the more and more Sky saw of her she wondered how she could possibly be as old as she looked, wasn't she even concerned she didn't seem to be home? She looked so unfazed it was kinda creepy, but then again sky wasn't much help either as she skimmed through practically any book handed to her and barely looked closely at any of the spells. "This is ridiculous...", Luna mumbled,"All the stuff our family has been through and there are no records of any queens who discovered anything on multiverses ! I'm starting to doubt this is even what's happening, there's no way you somehow created this yourself!". "Well it's better then other theories!", Sky argued back, "I mean....I'm sorry you didn't end up in some world with some super smart princess who knows everything, but i don't know anything about what's going on, my wand never listens to me in the first place..". "Well mine does, and even if you can't do anything i'm sure getting out of here...", she closed the book, "We're getting nowhere, we're going to have to search your royal archives at this rate..". Sky's eyes widened, "Archives? Oh no no no no, i still barely know you guys and my moms would kill me if i took you there!". "It's where they keep some of the most private records in all of mewni, you'll have better luck there then here, i can tell you that for su-", The doors to the library suddenly burst open as a disheveled looking demon prince with two girls walked in, Sky immediately got up to run over to her friend. "Judas! Hey!", he didn't say anything, but Sunny looked sad and Celeste looked...well actually she didn't look any different then she normally looked, but she was looking at judas rather oddly. Judas didn't say anything the girls walked over to sky and Judas clapped his hands together, "There you go....g-good luck sky....i'll be....i'll see you soon..". "Jude? You ok?", his friend asked, examining his troubled face, he didn't say anything but then a voice came from behind her. "Sunny stabbed his weird freak arm..", Celeste was tapping her foot, arms crossed, and judas's face turned deep purple. Sky's mouth gaped, She grabbed onto her friend's arm on instinct and held out out in front of her, "OH MY GOD JUDE ARE YOU-...wait...", she flipped it all around, "You seem fine...". "I fixed him..your welcome..", Sky shot Celeste a dirty look before turning to her friend, You ok?". "Yeah....I'll be fine i'm just...", he cringed, "My arm came back.....and ......". "Arm?", Luna had somehow snuck up behind sky, "What do you mean an arm? What the heck is she talking about?". Sky shot her a look, "Look, it's not your business, just....we got other stuff to take care of....". Judas sighed and felt his arm some more, "Yeah I-I uh...I better go....". "You gonna be ok?" "Y-Yeah yeah sorry.....I've just....I've never been hurt like that before and....We'll talk later sky...", He walked backwards slowly, "Call me....". He excited the library and Sky was tempted to follow him, only to see the flash of his fire portal him away through the door's cracks. "I'm sorry...", Sky tuned to see Sunny rubbing her arms, "I-I didn't mean to...". Sky took a deep breath, "Ok, look, let's....lets just focus on getting you home...ok?". Luna brushed Sky's shoulder as she walked past and stopped, "So....we heading to your family archives or what?". Sky grumbled, I'll get in serious trouble if i sneak you in, I don't even know you guys that well, what if you break something? Heck i don't even really know how to get in! because my mom never told me!!". "Well that's easy enough..." Luna shrugged, "I know what to do...as long as nothing else has changed here as far as buildings go.." "You could leave us here...", Celeste drawled on, "Not like I wanna go book hunting anyway.....". Sky was considering leaving them behind but fought against it, "No, you all are still strangers living in my house, there's no way leaving you out of my sight will end well..". "Look are we going to the archives or not? You're wasting all of our time!", the light blonde started tapping her foot impatiently, she was acting like a mother scolding her young child after they broke something. She let out a long sigh, "I'm not sitting here waiting for you to make a choice,  i'm not home, neither are these other girls apparently, if we're getting back to wherever we came from, we're not going to be able to do it while you sit there and babysit us..". Celeste joined in, "Look, i wanna just go home and see my stupid dad again, would you stop wasting me and everyone else's time already?". Sky could feel herself grab onto her hair and pull, "FINE!, We'll go to the archives, but i swear if any of you mess with anything-". She was going to finish her sentence when the bitter brunette glared at her, "You'll what? Anything bad happens it'll be YOUR fault, not ours!" Sky growled but turned around, "C'mon, let's go....no time to waste..just stay behind me..". This was a bad idea, but it had to be better then nothing. - Judas was fairly strong, he didn't know if his workout routines were simply to be a stronger prince or perhaps to help distract him from other issues but either way they were a regular part of his day. Well, they were when sky didn't change those plans anyway. After this morning, he just needed something to do, something to think about. Anything was better then thinking about the wound and blood gushing from his arm. Thinking about what could've happened if Sunny was really trying to kill him. Everything went by so fast, and he felt a little sick. "Dude....you ok?", Landon took a bite outta his sandwich while he watched his older brother attempt to do some stretches on his floor mat, Judas looked distracted, which was odd for him as during his usual workoput session he'd always been the opposite. The older boy gasped, almost jumping, "Landon? What? W-when did you-?". "I literally just walked in...guess you were so distracted you didn't even notice huh? I guess something must be on your mind..." Judas turned away his head and said nothing, lying down on the mat and bending his leg close to his chest. Landon bit his lip and took another bite, talking with his mouth full,  "Lucy roamed free for a bit, i'm sure you heard....dad had to wrangle her back to her room before she made a mess of the kitchen again...".Judas raised the other leg and mumbled under his breath, "That's great Landon....". All three of Landon's eyes watched his brother in suspicion waiting for him to tick, Judas was awfully bad at pretending he wasn't bothered by something. He took another look at his brother's eyes to see him flinch just a little and smiled. "Spill the beans Jude, something happened and you're being weird about it..." "Don't you have violin practice to be at?", Judas sat up, preparing to do another stretch, "You have no reason to be creeping in on my regular workout session...". Landon shrugged, "Guess i'm not over this morning and your strange friends with the wands...usually i don't bother with...whatever you and sky do but i guess that one's a little more interesting since you're trying so desperately to hide it from our parents with really terrible lies...". Judas laid down on his front, lifting his legs up in the back, "I'd rather not talk about it Landon....". The boy grumbled, "They did something didn't they? The girls?". "Landon, please leave....don't you have anything better to do?", Judas stood up now, grabbing a water bottle of to the side and taking a sip. Landon pulled his hoodie over his head, minding the horns, "No...not really, not like the middle child has anything to do with their lives...After all, i'm not the cute little brother with the wings or the next in line perfect prince...". "Landon...". The red-haired boy's eyes then wandered to the markerboard on the wall, Judas's accident counter. It was at 0. He smiled, "Your arm came back today...that explains it. Dude, i think you can just tell me if your stupid counter board is just gonna tell me itself..". Judas grumbled, "It's not my arm coming back it's just that i got stabbed in it!", His eyes widened before he covered his mouth. Landon stopped smiling before looking at him skeptically, "Dude, don't lie about that, you know mom and dad would freak if either of us got hurt like that.". The older boy shook his head, "I-It's true....t-the demon girl stabbed my monster arm, and then the grumpy one healed it...". On instinct he grabbed onto his right arm and felt along it, "I just....I'm just a little shocked and and pain isn't fully gone....I've just....i've never been hurt like that before..". "Sounds like there's a little more to it then that bro...", Landon said, "Though being stabbed does kinda suck, now if only it removed your curse...". "Landon, just leave, i don't feel like talking about it ok?", He pointed towards the door, "Leave before i call mom or dad!". Landon sighed before pulling hoodie more and more over his face, pocketing his hands in it, and heading out, "Fine whatever...i'll be doing nothing in my room if you need me....". He opened the door to head out to find his mother standing there, about to enter themselves. Marco was in more casual wear today and watched their son leave and closed the door behind them to see Judas sitting down against the wall, expression somber and mind wandering. "Hey Judas, sorry if i'm interrupting, I wanted to talk to you about-..", Marco paused at the sight of his sad son, stopping what he was originally going to say. Judas looked up to see Marco enter and cheerfully sit down next to him, "You ok honey?". The boy shrugged, "I dunno, some stuff happened and it just has me thinking about things.....usually my arm of course.". Marco reached to put an arm around him, "Mijo? had another accident?". "Sorta...". "I'm sorry...", Marco cautiously kissed their son on the forehead, avoiding his third eye. "No no mom.....it's just the expected again....wasn't expecting the thing to just go away y'know?". He rubbed his arm, "I-I...my arm got hurt by accident and i was bleeding for a bit....and uuh...can i ask you some questions?". "Judas, i hope you're not thinking of anything rash...". "No no....i'm not thinking of anything....extreme it's just...you never really talk....about your curse to me....", He sighed, "It's stupid i know, it's just....I've grown up with it for 17 years, trying desperately to be cured and....mom what if this thing kills me someday? Or....makes someone kill me..?". Marco pulled him close in a hug, "We're not letting that happen to you....you're not letting that man from last night get to you are you?". The boy didn't answer, he instead rubbed his eyes and took some breaths, "I dunno....maybe....I'm just...I dunno...". Marco held him close, "Hey, you're gonna be fine, curse or no curse....we'll make sure you don't get hurt because of it ok? Me and your dad have already been doing that since the day you were created..". The boy nodded his head slowly, "I-I'm sorry if i'm freaking you out mom, today's.....well it hasn't been easy on me...". "No it's fine....trust me, that arm isn't easy...just don't let it take over you, you're not the monster people perceive you as and you never will be...ok?", he nodded, "Yeah, yeah...thanks mom...I think i just needed to hear that today from you...". "No one's laying a finger on my baby boy...", Marco kissed their son's cheek and judas felt himself blush, "MOMMM!". Marco laughed, "Anyway's i came to talk to you about last night, with Sky." Judas could feel himself stiffen, even if it was only a little bit. "I've called Star about it this morning because we've seen that kinda magic before, but you talked to sky last night and i wanted to know if she's....learned any odd spells....or if you knew anything that was up?". Man, Judas REALLY hated lying to his folks and not telling them what happened last night, his parents considered honesty to especially be important in his family and they would not be fond of Judas lying to them about sky's strange wand issues as of lately. Judas held his breath and went from the half-truth instead to make it easier on him. "L-Last night?" "After she stormed off, you followed her soon after, was she ok?" Judas mentally sighed in relief that his mother didn't know he snuck out after 10 and was just talking about the ball instead. "Well, there's something weird about her wand that's for sure....she uh.....she...she knows about as little as i do...she was pretty upset though.....", marco sighed, "Star used to have instances where her wand busted out green magic as well, they just usually were tied into her emotions or corruption, star just wants to be sure it's not the latter..." "You mean like the toffee issue?" "Exactly..." "Well, no, i don't think it's anything like that....or a least i hope not...", marco sighed in complete relief, "I'm sure star will be happy to hear that, it's just something to be concerned about...Luckily she's gonna be training sky today so hopefully any issue she was worried about will be fixed and we can make sure her wand isn't....corrupted. Honestly i'm relieved, i kept telling her Sky needs more guidance but star kinda brushed that off a little and Star's finally stepping up properly as her magic tutor!". Judas had only been half listening thoughts now wondering if some evil force was responsible for sky's current situation, but then his eyes widened, "Wait what?". Marco's smile was still apparent on their face, She might be a little late to finally start helping her daughter train, but i think it's good sky finally is getting some help from her on a regular basis now. Your friend is very talented jude, but she's got alot to work till she gets where she needs to be and i know star can handle it, as long as she's serious about it...". Jude bit his lip, did sky remember she has a class with her mom today? She was planning to spend all morning fixing her little issues and now her mom was planning to spend a good portion of the day teaching her things? The girls could be found, they could do something awful, they'd be entirely unsupervised! He needed to warn Sky, and supervise the girls before they got away or star caught them. "Judas, you ok honey?". The boy gulped and he stood up, well mom it's good having you here but i gotta....i gotta go finish something real quick if that's ok...?" Marco looked rather confused but complied, "Did you forget something jude?". Their son held their hands out and backed up, reaching for their compact they left on one of the desks, "Yeah, something like that, I-I'll get back to you ok!?" Marco stood up and sighed, "Alright, i'll see you soon, if you need any help just call ok? I'll make sure to call myself since star might have more questions...". The demon nodded before closing the door behind him and tried to text Sky quickly. He needed to at least TRY to warn her first that her mom was gonna look for her, but in any case, someone would still need to keep the girls out of the woman's sight and out of any trouble, and no doubt if they got caught Judas would be in trouble as much as his friend. Judas: Sky, my mom just told me your mom is doing classes w/ you now! Judas: She's asking about about your magic and toffee and she's gonna come after you soon because of these classes! Judas: Sky you still have all the girls and you have to hide them somewhere, get them out of sight, i'll be right there to help! He pocketed his compact quickly before disappearing. But not before being spotted by a dark-pink haired by boy wearing a red hoodie. Landon watched his brother vanish, before biting his lip and pulling his hood further over his head. His violin was n it's case, strapped around him, and he turned around and walked off. "Jude....what the heck did you get into now?" - Sky had never been inside the archives before, she knew where it was of course, but she never knew how to get IN. Her mother occasionally went inside and so did grandmother moon and eclipsa, but apparently the whole thing was "Off-limits" to rowdy teenagers. Honestly getting into the magic bureau was bad enough as is with a group of five, and sky regretted her choice to even take them the longer they stayed. There probably didn't belong here yes but at the same time she didn't know these girls, and she was letting them wander through through important and serious queen stuff. She was just asking for something to go wrong. Sky was leading the way of course, and she thanked glob there was practically no real security in this place cause she had never been the sneaky type. Didn't help she typically dressed up with an outrageous looking monster hat and half the time was in rather bright colors that made her pop. Though she was sneaking, the girls following her.....were less so. Well Luna seemed on guard, but Celeste looked bored, galexia was daydreaming practically, and sunny still looked as though she was thinking about judas. Maybe sky would've been better off only taking luna and leaving them all behind...but then again, who knows what they'd get into without her helping. Judas was out doing his usually routine, Melanie was at school, Sky didn't exactly have a ton of options here. This was a terrible idea, completely stupid, breaking these girls in was literally going to do nothing better for her reputation. But then again, her reputation was bad enough already, if she was gonna end up dethroned for being the worst princess ever, might as well go out with a bang right? "You must be really willing to get rid of us to really break into here..", Luna whispered to her suddenly, peering around the corner, "I mean granted, i would've went with or without you.....but you've got some gumption if you're willing to get caught WITH us...". "Look, i just need to keep an eye on you all-" "Yeah, i've heard that a dozens times already, but honestly you bent so quickly into doing this, almost no argument....", the blonde suspiciously looked at sky, eyebrow raised and eyeing her from head to toe, "Any particular reason for that or did you secretly always want to break into the archives?". "Why do you care?" "Because if I were in your shoes, i wouldn't trust me either...", She opened a door to a closet and ushered everyone inside before closing the door. Sky gave her a skeptic look as she watched the girl move a rack of clothes out of the way to reveal a strange wall. Luna sighed, "I better hope the code isn't any different here then it was at home or we're in trouble...". "The code?", Luna turned around to fave four confused girls, and Sky stepped forward, "What code? You telling me archives is...password protected or something?". The blonde turned fully around and crossed her arms, "All of you have never been to the archives before? Are you kidding me? ALL of you?". Sky mockingly pointed to herself, "Remember? the girl who can't use a wand? What did you expect? My moms didn't bother to tell me....maybe it was because they knew something like this could happen...". Luna grumbled and turned around, she examined the wall before elaborately pushing buttons in such a way that sky was pretty sure she didn't actually know a password to this weird wall and was practically playing with it like some toy until there was a rumbling and the wall split into two, opening a doorway. The other girls gasped and luna's wand started to glow, "Follow me....". "Great, another thing my parents refused to tell me about...",Celeste grumbled from the back of the group as Sky just was now resorting to follow the tall blonde lady with the glowing wand and the surprisingly good memory. "Honestly though, most princesses and queens are never allowed down here.....so i guess i'm not surprised, i'm just lucky i suppose." Sky resorted to ignoring that possible insult as she followed behind but she noticed Celeste clutching her fist a little more. Meanwhile galexia was practically skipping, not to mention observing everything in sight, honestly she moved around so much sky almost think she'd need a leash just to keep her from wandering off down here. But despite everything she was staying with the group eerily well to the point in which sky was almost sure she could teleport. She was about to say something when a small voice spoke up. "I'm sorry about your friend....", Sunny was still staring at the floor, hands together and shoulders sagged. "Hey no, it's ok...i'm sure it was a total accident..", Sky put her hands up, "Judas and i have gotten into a lot of scraps before, and you guys fixed his arm, so it's alright. I'm sure he's  not upset with you, his arm popping up can always get a little...", She made a hand gesture, "Spooky..". "But he looked so freaked out! I-I didn't mean to-". "Hey no, it's fine. It's just...Judas has had that thing his whole life and it scares people a lot and i think you just brought up a lot of bad memories up for him, trust me, people have tried a lot of solutions to "Fix' him and it only made it worse for him...plus not to mention what pain and horror it probably feels to have some possibly living thing attached to you like that. It's like having a second more eviler head you didn't want, except that head could take over your whole body if it felt tempted to or something..". "Oh...", this didn't seem to make the small demon feel any better, and Celeste soon caught up into the conversation. "Honestly i don't care, but what the heck even was that thing? Did you curse his arm to do some freaky stu-", the girl in the monster hat blushed and resisted the urge to punch the girl, "NO! Alright, that's enough, let's just stop talking about it ok?" "Easy enough...we've arrived.", Luna said, making sky wonder how much she heard as they approached a closed door with an eye on it, then luna walked over to a hole in the wall nearby, "We're going this way, ok? and do me a favor, be wary of traps...i'd rather not die because of you." "Wait, traps?" "Yes, traps, so just watch your step....". Luna made her way through and one by one the girls followed suit. "How are we supposed to get around traps if we've never even been here before!?", Luna was about to answer before Sunny perked up and poofed a cloud in front of her before hopping on top of it. "We ride through! Then you can't step on ANY TRAPS!". Luna made an approving noise before sitting on her cloud herself, "Hmm, i honestly should've thought of that first...", galexia jumping on after and sky following suit before celeste begrudgingly hoped on as well. The cloud was moving alot slower with all five girls on top but it was faster then walking at least. They sat in silence before Sky felt her compact buzz and she opened it to see she has a dozen texts from judas. Her eyes widened. The classes! how the heck did she already forget about her classes!! If her mom couldn't find her at home she'd certainly find her soon if she used the seeing eye spell. She was in such a rush to get rid of these girls she completely forgot her mom would be out looking for her today. She rapidly texted back as quickly as she could. Judas: Sky where are you? Sky: Stall my mom, buy us some time Her expression must've been clear on her face when the grumpy brunette next to her gave her a look, "What did you do now?'. Sky closed her compact and shoved in back into one of her packets, "It's uh.....my mom....our mom? Might be looking for me soon..". "Wait.....what?" "Look, it's fine....we'll just...we'll have to make this quick...". "Oh that won't be hard...", Luna said suddenly, the cloud coming to a complete stop. "Why-?" Then sky stopped and gasped as they made it to what is presumably the archives, in a mess, papers torn everywhere, shelves trashed, and  machine parts scattered everywhere. It looked as if a tornado made it's way into here judging by it's damage. The archives, were wrecked. "Someone got to here first....", she said, "And they REALLY made things worse for us..."
