KNY Theory time!!
Tumblr media
Have you ever noticed ? In each taishou rumor in the anime , they're in the stage with red curtains .
What if everything was just a school play ? Or a theatre play ? What if the manga was just the script and everyone in the show are only actors?
What if the gakuen was what their life is really like ? WHAT IF?
What if everything was just a play everyone was paid to?
Sorry I'm doing this to cope after reading the manga
Tumblr media
Note ; This theory is not proven and is just a guess .

LETTERS TO SANEMI
This can be read as a standalone, but if you'd like you can read my previous thoughts on Genya's literacy.
dear aNiki,
kocho gave me a Notebook today aNd told me to write down any after efects or experiNces after eating a demoN iN here but said I should also keep a jourNal to show you oNe day. she gave one to tokito to for his memory loss I thiNk.
she started teachng me how to write receNtly. she said if I caN’t become a hashira or talk to you by the time i've fiNished learNiNg, i can come up with a good apologi letter for you.
himejima-saN is very proud that I'm learNiNg how to write. he was sad he couldn't teach me Himself but Now I can help Him deliver messages he caN't write or Read.
i caN't do aNy breathiNg techNiques, but himjima-saN’s traiNing is iNteNse eNough that i can slay demons eveN without eating them sometimes. maybe i will be able to become the first hashira without a techNique.
Im Not sure yet Of what to write iN here, so thats all for Now. I hope you like the ohagi I seNt you. kocho said she'd pass it for Me.
***
Dear Aniki,
I'm very embarrassed to say this, but when I showed Kocho my writing it turned out I got a lot of things wrong. She was very nice about it when she saw how red I was but couldn't teach me today so the Butterfly Girls had to do it. I think they were too scared to laugh but it's embarrassing anyway to have them know more about writing than I do.
For one apparently I got all my captal (is that how you spell it?) letters wrong. Small letter n and captal letter N are also very different and it's confusing. And I'm glad Himejima-san won't find out I didn't write his name correctly.
The demon I ate the other day left me with a very weirdly shaped hand that hasn't gone away yet, so I'll stop writing for now since it's tiring to hold a pencil with talons. Kocho offered to cut my nails for me but I said no because she was going to use her katana.
***
Dear Aniki,
It really hurt me to find out you threw away my apology letter. I really want to apologize for that night but you keep pushing me away. Are you disappointed in me for joining the Corps or because I can't use breathing techniques? I promise I'll do better.
At least you didn't reject my ohagi. I found out because Tokito was eating it when I met him today. The Mist Pillar is really weird. I didn't know his amnesia was so bad to this state he wandered into the room I was staying in at the Butterfly Mansion thinking it was his. I found him standing by the window holding my gun without moving for about ten minutes. I thought he was a girl for a second so it kind of stunned me into silence. He didn't even notice I was there until I yelled at him to put it down.
It was really awkward at first because I had to explain to him it wasn't his room and he had to explain to me he wasn't a girl, then there was an awkward pause where we just stared at each other. He called me a rooster too…which is still confusing.
I find it really hard to believe he's fourteen and already a Pillar. Jealous, really, because he gets to see you and I don't. Although he called you a wolf and I'm not sure what that means when I asked him where he got the ohagi from and he said the “old white wolf looking Hashira…I forgot. I think I bought it…wait, but I didn't bring any money.”
Somehow I ended up agreeing to his demand of training with him first thing tomorrow to show him how to use a gun. Thankfully the side effects of the demon I ate is gone now.
Kocho told me he'll probably forget about it though.
***
Dear Aniki,
Today's my birthday. Do you miss me as much I do for you? I wish I can still celebrate it with our siblings and mom, or at least with you.
Kinzaki and the Butterfly Girls made me a cake. Kocho gave me a new yukata after I ripped my old one from my last fight. Her tsugoku gave me a coin for whatever reason. But I got really shy and didn't say much.
Muichiro forgot it was my birthday and thought it was Kocho’s, so he gave me her present. He thought it was funny to pin the butterfly to my hair. The girls started giggling at me so I chased him around the Butterfly Mansion.
Himejima-san gave me a cat. She's very cute. I named her Shizu, after mom. She followed me everywhere and even peed on Muichiro’s foot. He said she was stupid but later on I found him carrying her around.
Her white fur made me think of you. If you ever forgive me one day I'm sure you'll love her too. She likes the smell of ohagi too apparently.
***
Dear Aniki,
Rengoku-san the Flame Pillar and Kanroji the Love Pillar came to visit Himejima-san today. Rengoku-san gave me ohagi, so I thanked him but he said it wasn't from him. I'm praying this means you don't completely hate me.
Muichiro came over to Himejima-san’s estate today too by mistake, but he decided to stay and train with me anyway. He asked to see Shizu and that's when I realized she was missing.
How hard could it be to find a snowy white cat? That's what we thought until we (me mostly, Muichiro kept forgetting where he had looked) hunted everywhere for her. Then Rengoku-san said he saw her run pass him and when we looked she jumped off a tree and took off.
I still can't stop turning red whenever I think about how I slammed into Kanroji chasing Shizu, so I immediately ran off with Muichiro. I hope if I meet her again she'll have forgotten about it.
Dumb cat.
***
Dear Aniki,
Today that Kamado kid - the one who broke my arm back at Final Selection after I grabbed the Ubuyashiki girl; hope she doesn't hold it against me - picked up the stack of letters I accidentally dropped. You know it's the anniversary of everyone's death today, so I was planning on taking the letters I've been writing to them to burn. Usually I would just leave flowers and prayers at the shrine Himejima-san helped me make because we never got to bury them, but since Kocho taught me to write I decided to make a new tradition.
Anyway I knew he didn't mean to read them but I got mad anyway until he told me his family died the same way and he was happy that I was still honoring their memory of whatever. I wish me and you were like him and his sister. I wonder what would've happened if we had stayed together? I never meant to hurt you like that.
I don't remember writing any of this. Did I change my handwriting or something? Who's Aniki?
I've just chased away Muichiro. I can't believe he got our notebooks mixed up and started reading mine. I hope he didn't read anything…too personal. Foggy brained idiot just stared at me and left.
He came back later. He didn't apologize but handed me a watermelon. He's forgiven…I guess? I don't even want to know he got it from, especially when I can hear Kinzaki and that pig head boy shouting.
***
Dear Aniki,
Today's the day before the final battle and I don't have much time to write as much as I want to, so I'll make this entry quick.
Muichiro has become a much nicer person, and I've had a lot of fun with him over time. I'm gonna miss training with him and talking and cloud gazing together afterwards. I hope we both don't die. He called me his best friend the other day and although I got really flustered I don't want it to be the last time.
Kocho and the Butterfly Girls celebrated my “graduation” of learning how to write the other day. Maybe one day you'll be able to come and celebrate some other occasion with us.
I will never be able to repay everything Himejima-san has done for me. I owe him for the slayer I am today. I hope the wooden bracelet I carved will be able to convey it. I can write now but I'm no good with words.
I'm really grateful to Kamado and his sister for reminding me during the battle at the Swordsmith Village why I joined the Corps. I'm going to prove myself to you and apologize for once and for all. I don't know what I'm going to do if you keep pushing me away even after all this. I miss you a lot.
I swear we'll be brothers again after this battle.

Wait- just hear me out. What if
🐷Inosuke🐷 and ✋🏼Iida✋🏼 where in the same room??
...
I have an idea of what would happen.
When they first are inside the room, they don't know wtf is happening.
Iida is terrified at the fact that Inosuke wants to fight him, and the fact that he has literal swords.
Inosuke gets mad that Iida won't fight him
Iida starts scolding Inosuke and asking him why he had swords while doing the hand choppy stuff.
Inosuke gets confused and mad and says "I can chop my hands too! I can do anything you can, just like Monjiro!!" And then starts chopping his hands like a million chops a minute.
Iida is just like 😰 whole Inosuke, still chopping his hands, is like 👹
outside, class 1-A and the pillars + the Komoboku squad just hear "BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA" occoponied with "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS, STOP IT YOU FERAL PIG-HUMAN! YOU'RE ACTING LIKE A TODDLER!"
Que, "Toddler!? WHERE? I WANNA FIGHT IT!" followed by a, "WTF nO".
The room is on fire. Tanjiro, Rengokou, Uzai, and Shinobu are dying of laughter. Zenitsu is crying his eyes out. Class 1-A is very concerned, especially the Deku-sqaud. Mina and Denki are recording. Giyuu is giving his 'done' face. Gyomei is praying like he's possessed by the holy spirit. Sanemi is basically ordering everyone to go die. Kanroji and Obanai are watching the flames spread. And Muichiro and Nezuko are just vibing in the background.

Sanemi x snow breathing!reader who insecure about her hair that was similar to Mitsuri but with different colors! She also clingy and alaways hugs him :)
Soft spot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paring: Sanemi x Fem!reader
Synopsis: Sanemi doesn't care until it comes to you
Content: Fluff, readers' skin isn't described but is mentioned to have white hair and snowflake eyes, physical affection, insecure reader, mention of bullying, kiss at the end
Word count: 1.0k words
A/n: This was so cute to write!🥹
Tumblr media
"Your hair isn't werid. It's fine just the way it is," Sanemi said, putting his hand on your head. Your arms were wrapped around his waist and your chest resting on his musclar chest as you explained to him how you've been feeling about your appearance and other problems.
You couldn't wait for him to come by your house, so you stepped by at headquarters, and luckly, Sanemi was finished talking with the Serpent hashira. You've been standing there hugging Sanemi so tightly in the middle of headquarters you didn't think for a moment anyone could walk by and see how intimately close you two were being.
Usually, Sanemi would push you off him, sometimes even fighting you, but it was never violent. More so, Sanemi doesn't know how two react to such clingess and kind touch. So he pushes it away. However, over time, he's gotten so used to your touch, and right now, you needed him. He cares about you and doesn't push you away.
Other slayers in your ranking have recently been making your time in the demon slayer core difficult. Your appearance was consently made fun of because of your naturally white hair. It's very uncommon for someone you're younger adult age having white hair and others assume you're aging too fast when it's been your hair color from when you were born. Your eyes also had snowflakes like pupils as well.
Your snow breathing wasn't seen to be useful to other slayers when it came to group work. It was taring you apart and made you think you might not be good enough. What worried you more is that because of how often your appearance was made fun of, it made you worry if Sanemi would still be with you.
When you first joined the demon slayer core, you met sanemi and a handful of times, thanks to rengoku, and the two of you bonded over having naturally white hair at a younger age. However, no slander of a lower ranking, not even his fellow hashira, would dare say anything bad about his looks.
Sanemi, being a hashira, also made you think you were good enough. What if he dates one of the female hashira who are of his status? What if you don't find you attractive anymore? The "What ifs" plays in your head so much as you explain what's been going on to sanemi. When you were finished, you saw his face become visibly mad.
Usually, it's not a hashira's job to take on the task of discrimination and bullying in the core, but he was just about ready to fight any slayer to teach them a lesson. You opened your mouth to say something, thinking he'd say the things he'd do to the slayers who wronged you, but instead, he took a deep breaths.
Sanemi calmed himself down and then brought his hand and placed it on the back of your head. His expression was still serious, but he gently played with your hair and curled it around his finger. "You worry too much about others. You're off duty tomorrow, so let me take you home," he said. "You're cold as ice, and it's chilly out here. Let's go,"
For a moment, you felt sad, thinking Sanemi might have brushes off your concerns, but you don't pry anymore. The sun was going down with the night cold creeping it, and you ended up holding onto Sanemi's arms. His hands were in his pockets as he let's you hug his arm and walked you home. Luckily, you don't live too far, so after a bit, you were walking up to your front door.
The walk home was silent. You just assumed Sanemi was tied and just choked it up to him, needing to leave quickly to do his hashira duties. You reach to your front door and let go of Sanemi's arms to tell him goodnight. "One more thing," sanemi said, breaking the silence. "You're a strong slayer. You've been at the demon slayer core for a year. You're not going to be master level, but in time, you will, and in times, you've improved a lot. Your breathing technique will be put to very good use when it's time to fight muzan." sanemi looked at you.
"I'll have a word with the slayers bothering you. This is why the core is fucked up, to want cocky slayers for my liking" he scoffed. You look at him a bit starstruck as he praises you and actually sees your improvement. "As for you thinking I'd date one of the female hashira, I wouldn't. They aren't my type, plus mitsuri is clearly off limits, and Shinobu is gay so" he said so nonchalant you couldn't help but giggle.
Sanemi watches you giggle, and you start to see a faint blush on his cheeks. "You're not bad looking. I like my woman to be pretty but smart, and you're just what I like," Sanemi said. There's many pretty women in the demon slayer core, but hearing how Sanemi called you his woman and how he views your beauty, inside and out brought you to tears.
You needed the reassurance to be told you're doing good and how pretty you are. "I'll tell you as many times as you need to hear it since you forget that," Sanemi as he steps closer to wrap his arm around your waist to pull you close, making your bodies touch and lips just inches apart.
"I have to go to work for the night now. Don't come to headquarters again. I'll come by here in the morning," he said. You become a bit flustered with how close in contact you are with him, opening your mouth to speak bit it comes out in stutters.
"Easy, easy." Sanemi flirts, seeing how flustered you are. He had a small smirk on his face and watched you nod your head. Understand what he just said. "Good girl," Sanemi said, bringing his hand to your cheek and cups it. Before you knew it, his lips connected with yours, so loving and passionate you couldn't help but kiss him back.
Sanemi pulled away after a few seconds and let you go. "See you tomorrow," he responds, red in the face, and quickly walks away from you. "See you," you reply, waving your hand as sanemi walks away.
You placed your finger over your bottom lip and sighed. He's always leaving you flustered and missing him already.

Buddha headcanons with Muichiro!fem!reader
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
warnings: spoilers, ooc, reader is aged up to early or late twenties.
In all honesty if Buddha did not have a love for sweets and cloud gazing, he would not have met his significant other: [First Name] [Last Name], the Mist Hashira.
Most of the gods were unaware that he even had a lover, and he planned to keep it that way. It was not because he doubted the Mist Hashira’s love and devotion towards him, rather he knew that the other deities would try something if he wasn’t around. Right now, they couldn’t afford to have too much attention on them.
By being in a relationship with a Demon Slayer who is sworn to never engage in a relationship with anyone belonging to the divine pantheons, Buddha had to tread carefully when he or both of them weren’t lounging underneath his bodhi tree. He might have Brunhilde’s blessing, but that would not stop Hades from trying to replace the Mist Hashira as soon as word got out that one of his rules had been broken.
After the Bifrost had been destroyed by the human named Nostradamus, the king of the underworld employed the Demon Slayer Corps to ensure the protection of Valhalla’s denizens. The organization had prided itself on being efficient and possessing powerful humans in their ranks who have gone toe-to-toe against Muzan Kibitsuji’s Twelve Kizuki, but presently they were running thin on available members due to a rise in demon sightings. That was part of the reason why [First Name] traveled frequently or stood guard in Helheim as soon she received a summons via her crow.
Buddha knew the job took a toll on her health, even if her face didn’t show it.
“Is it really a lot…to ask for more days like this?” [First Name] said one sunny afternoon, laying on flat on her back next to the honored one in the grassy field as she gazed up at the misshapen clouds shifting in the blue skies. “Being here on this little island, not worrying if your next assignment isn’t the one that’ll send you to Niflheim for good, or what you could have done but didn’t do?”
“It’s not, petal.” Buddha murmured, his calloused fingers weaving through [Hair Color] tresses before pressing a kiss on her forehead. “It’s not.”
Cuddles and meditation sessions are an absolute must once a mission is completed, no ifs, ands, or but’s. Mental health is important. Braiding each other’s hair won’t happen until much later on in the relationship, but it is definitely worth it.
This bond between two unlikely individuals took a long time to build, but the result is Valhalla’s chaotic power couple who adore each other and only show their vulnerable, softer side when alone. Like a pair of grumpy cats who don’t like anyone except for one person that gives them attention and treats when they want it.
Bonus Content:
Nothing warmed Buddha’s heart more than hearing his Mist Hashira talk shit to any god comes between them and a sweets shop. Especially when if she says ‘shaddup’ with that spaced off look on her face~.

the leather jacket
Tumblr media
read on ao3 | masterlist/s
description: you’re having a bad day and spike runs into you, a conversation sparks and you realise you might actually feel something for him.
relationship: spike & reader
a/n: in my mind reader is fem, but idk if i specified it anywhere? they are wearing a dress, but that’s mentioned once, in the beginning.
wc: 1140
You sat down on a bench, it was dark, there was only one lantern a couple meters away from where you were. You felt the cold air caressing your bare arms and calves, as your skirt reached a little below your knees. It was hard, adjusting to living like this, living and haunting demons while you had your own demons haunting you, for a good while now, life was just, too much. Buffy’s life seemed to be piecing together, Willow met Tara and was obviously in love, Xander started to work and had Anya, you were just… there.
Wishes and what ifs filled your thoughts, you wanted to go back to high school, when it was just the Scooby Gang, when you had Cordelia, who you were close with at the time, you two were always outcasted to an extent, she was especially after Xander cheated on her, that’s when you distanced yourself more from him, while Willow always seemed honestly sorry, he never did. It was never the same after that, while you enjoyed spending time with them, you just never got that close again and your life seemed to go down hill from that ever since.
You watched people passing by in distance, you felt so empty, like someone cut a whole in you that could never be filled, today was especially bad and all everyone cared about was demons and other strange creatures of the dark to fight. A set of footsteps caught your attention, it was getting closer to you, you looked over to see a face you recognised, but haven’t seen in a while.
His hair was still platinum, combed back, he had his leather jacket on per usual and a funeral like — all black — outfit. Your eyes stopped at his face, he tilted his head, as he just stood there for a moment, his gaze lingering on your face, you could swear you saw his eyes soften for a brief moment, before they went back to being cold as usual.
“What’s wrong?” He said and the question took you aback for a second, you parted your lips ready to answer, but ended up biting your own tongue in time.
“What do you want, Spike?” Your voice was calm, almost emotionless, a chill run down your spine as the wind blew again, creating goosebumps on your skin.
“What? What do I want?” Spike let out a scoff, as he relaxed more, now standing in a less of a dull position. “Do I always have to want something?”
“Well, you usually do so… What is it?”
He scoffed again, you could feel your hands clenching slightly at that, he was bothering you and now wouldn’t even say what he wanted.
You just focused back on the people you could see in the windows of the dorm rooms, those passing nearby or those going out, probably to party. You kept a mental note of the fact that he was still there, his gaze was lingering on you and you could feel it. He eventually moved to sit down next to you, you glanced at him, your gaze paused on him, as you noticed his eyes softened again.
“If you’re hoping to see Buffy, she’s not coming.”
“Oh right, the slayer…What a loss.” He said, his tone more playful now, you just glanced between him and the passers by.
Silence fell between you two for a moment, he was just… sitting there and so were you, you didn’t really mind or care as long as he didn’t annoy you too much, it was quite nice, having company wasn’t so bad, even if it meant his company.
“Something is wrong.” Spike said, catching your attention, you turned to him, this time focusing on him. “What’s wrong, hm? Maybe I can help out.”
“I don’t need your help. Or want it.”
“Gee, no wonder you’re sitting alone.”
Ouch.
Your lips lightly pouted, it was instinctual, your head moved down as you looked at him with hurt in your eyes.
“Well, you’re sitting with me. So…”
“So what? You’re not alone? You’re in my company, a bloody vampires and not your ‘my little pony’ friend group?”
You let out a sight answering with a simple, “No.”
He took out a flask bottle out of his coat, he took a long sip, moving it towards you with a raise of a brow.
“What is it?”
“Apple juice— What do you think it is?” He scoffed.
“God you’re insufferable.” You mumbled taking it from his hand and taking a huge sip yourself.
It didn’t take long for you to get more talkative, you had a pretty weak head when it came to alcohol, you were shivering by then, the cold becoming unbearable. You began to think how cool was the fact that the cold couldn’t affect him, he was dead after all and probably cold himself as well… you stopped your train of thought there, because why on earth were you thinking if he was hot— warm or cold.
“You’re shivering.” He noticed, his voice was deep, he took his jacket off. He moved it onto your shoulders, allowing you to adjust it, so you did, doing your best to cover up as much as you could, it just ended with you putting it on fully.
You smiled lightly at him, your cheeks were flushed from the alcohol, “Thanks.”
“So you were saying…” He clears his throat as he takes another sip of the drink.
“Right… Um… What was I…” You frowned your brows, your mind was fuzzy, each thought went in and out within seconds, not letting you to focus on anything. He seemed to notice you struggled with putting it together so he just spoke for now.
“Well truth be told, the… whatever you called them gang… they are not as half as cool as you are, I mean, think of that prat Xander.”
You just nodded in an agreement, there was something in common between you, a human, struggling mentally and a blood thirsty, old as time vampire — your hate for Xander Harris.
“I— I don’t know…” You shook your head, drinking more, the flask was almost empty. “It’s all just… I’m just… Tired.” You looked down as you spoke, voicing it all felt a little too real.
“God this is so depressing.”
“Is it? I think that’s just you, love.” He smiles lightly at you, making you smile, he had a pretty smile… wait what?
God.
“You know what… I- I need to go.” You got up, giving him back the flask, unable to say much you just… took off. You could hear him yelling a couple of “hold up” after you, but you kept on walking, you eventually reached your dorm room, you walked inside.
You took your leather jacket off, but it wasn’t yours, was it?

Consider Demon Sanemi
I see a lot of art and what-ifs with Demon!Genya with his lil demon muzzle and for the most part they’re very cute, and I love them very much!
But, if we are going to turn one of the Shinaguzawa brothers into demons, why Genya and not Sanemi?
In reality it’s because the dynamic we’re used to in KNY is that of Tanjirou and Nezuko, a dynamic where the younger sibling becomes a demon while the older one has to step up. It’s natural to replicate that dynamic with Sanemi and Genya because we want to see Sanemi, a guy who hates demons more than anything, conquer that hate and care for his little brother like he doesn’t get the chance to in cannon.
Is this really the best and most interesting way to spin their dynamic though?
I’m a big believer in tragedies, and I honestly love Genya and Sanemi for exactly that reason. I also majorly relate to Genya as a younger sibling myself; I want a more Genya-centric narrative.
So, what if Sanemi never became a slayer, but was turned into a demon instead?
Well, Sanemi is not Nezuko, and if he were to become a demon, I don’t believe that he would be able to come out of it without blood on his hands. Not to say that Sanemi has weak willpower- he doesn’t- it’s just that in a thousand years, there’s only ever been one person who has resisted eating humans after their demonization.
Imagine Genya, a boy who looks up to his older brother more than anything in the whole world, forced into a reality where that same brother is now a man-eating demon who doesn’t remember him at all.
Imagine Sanemi, roaming the world like an ogre. He eats, he fights and he kills because he’s lost his memories and purpose to do anything else.
Imagine Genya, chasing after his brother like a madman, encountering death everywhere Sanemi has been. The lives his brother has broken, the families he’s destroyed, Genya can’t understand how his Sanemi, a man who once took such tender care of their family, could ever do something like this.
There are so many paths Genya could take. He could become a demon slayer, vowing to save his brother from the beast that he’s become and put Sanemi down for his own good. Genya could follow in Sanemi’s footsteps and become a demon himself, needing to understand Sanemi so badly that it overwrites his thinking mind.
A noble human becoming a monster; it’s a perversion we see so many times with the demons, and, in my opinion, one of the core tragedies of KNY.
But even if you don’t like Sanemi going full demon mode, even if you want to imagine a more Nezuko and Tanjirou like dynamic, isn’t it just… more interesting to imagine Genya finally being in the position to protect Sanemi? Would Genya be conflicted about eating demons? His brother is a demon after all…
This ended up being pretty rambling, but I hope I got at least a few people considering Demon Sanemi because I do think the concept has such good tragic potential…
I’ve been making too much art of them :((

Chapter 2
Riley’s POV:
It has been just over a week and some change since the day at the park. I would be lying if I said I hadn’t at least thought about shirtless Noah and his equally handsome friends a time or two. Let’s be honest though, in a city this size, the chances of running into any of them again are pretty slim. Plus, my life is a mess, so why get my hopes up. Besides, who would even want damaged goods like me…
I’m 23 and don’t know what I want to do with my life. All I know is that my nightmare of a job isn’t it and all the stress has been weighing heavy on me lately. I’ve been toying with the idea of leaving this city and starting over somewhere new with Hades. With Tate gone I don’t really know anyone; I have zero friends. There’s nothing holding me here.  But I have my house and it’s a lot of work starting over. If I don’t leave, maybe I could try to return to school, finish out the medical sonography program and get the hell out of my current job. Would it even change anything though? My anxiety and the what ifs keep me from pulling the trigger on any of it, but something’s got to give.
It had been another excruciatingly long day at work and all of this was swirling through my mind as I pulled into the grocery store parking lot. I grabbed my oversized Demon Slayer hoodie (yes, I’m a nerd) and pulled it over my work polo before grabbing my mini backpack out of the passenger seat. Thank God my job didn’t mind that I usually wore majorly flared black jeans and my beloved black converse or else I’d have to keep a change of clothes in the car if I ever needed to go anywhere once I got off.
Once inside I grab a cart, pull up my shopping list app, and start marking things off as I wander around. I’ve gotten about three quarters down my list when I turn onto the empty canned food aisle making my way to the baked beans, looking for my favorites.
My eyes scan the shelves; I’ve almost given up hope, but as I get to the very top shelf, I see a few cans sitting back from the edge. Just my luck, of course they’d be on the very top, out of my reach, I think to myself as I let out a sigh. Being 5’3” doesn’t always work in my favor, especially in instances like this.
Once the cart is out of the way I push my sleeves up and step onto the metal shelfing, hoisting myself up and trying my damnedest to reach at least one of the cans.
As I’m wiggling my fingers trying to maneuver the can into my grip, my skin begins to prickle as I feel someone’s eyes on me. “Looks like you could use a few inches,” comes a masculine voice from behind me.
I roll my eyes, thinking great, all I need is someone pestering me tonight. I knew I should have grabbed my air pods off the charger this morning. “Are you sure you’ve got a few to spare?” I retort, sarcasm dripping from my words while I continue my struggle to grab a can.
Only once I hear that low chuckle and, “Good one, Riley. I don’t know how my poor fragile ego will ever recover,” do I freeze in place. I registered the voice, and the apples of my cheeks grew hot as I hear my name slip from his lips. Shit…
I slowly turn my head to see Noah a couple yards away bent down, arms crossed, leaning against the handle of his cart, watching me with a smirk on his face. Slowly I step down, his eyes never leaving me. “Thanks, but I have to ask, are you stalking me now?” I ask playfully as I cross my arms over my chest, trying to recover from the embarrassment and feeling a little spunky.
Noah’s POV:
The subtle blush appearing on her cheeks only makes the smirk spread further across my face. She looks a little different tonight, but her small frame and raven hair, still pulled back in a low ponytail, gave her away. I find it hard to believe but I’m not sure she knows just how beautiful she is, even in an oversized hoodie that falls almost to her knees. She’s got some fight in her apparently though.
Another small chuckle escapes before I reply, “What would you do if I said yes?” Her blush deepened, but she holds my gaze defiantly. After a few seconds I follow up with, “No, I was here picking up some things to take back to the house.  The guys and I are having a game night. Can’t have a good game night without snacks.” My head nods to my cart where a case of both Modelo and White Claw are practically covered with an assortment of chips, salsa, and dips. “It is a pleasant surprise running into you again, though.” I add.
She tilts her head as her eyebrow arches and a smile forms. “As long as you keep it figurative and not literal this time.” She pokes, but her hand instinctively goes up to cover her left ribs.
The smile on my face goes slack as I remember how I’d accidentally hurt her when we met before; I wouldn’t be surprised if she still has remnants of a bruise. I clear my throat and look up at the cans. “So would you like for me to help you with that?” I offer, standing from my cart and stepping closer, realizing now just how much I tower over her.
Her eyes follow mine to the cans as she purses those full lips for a moment, thinking it over. “What the hell, I sure wasn’t having any luck,” she finally says, shrugging and stepping aside. I move to her side and begin reaching up before I hear her add, “Do you mind grabbing two?”
I shake my head grabbing two in a single hand, got to love the perks of having these big hands. In the process my black and white striped shirt comes up just a sliver revealing a portion of my tattooed stomach. I catch her biting her lip slightly and adverting her eyes to the floor, but I don’t mention it and just smile a bit as I extend the cans to her. She takes them, one in each hand, and places them in her cart.
I grab the last can from the shelf looking it over as I ask, “So are these any good? I need to get some for Folio. He likes scooping them onto his chips.” My face gave away the slight disgust I felt for that, her nose crinkling up as well.
Nodding, she says, “They’ve been my favorites for as long as I can remember.”
That’s all the confirmation I need as I go place it in my cart. With that, she thanks me and turns towards her cart to continue on. Knowing this interaction is coming to an end, Folio’s words from the park drift through my head. Tell us you at least got her number…
She’s about halfway down the aisle when I call out “Riley!”
She stops, turning back to me with a questioning ‘hmm’. I leave my cart where it is and jog down the aisle to her, I can feel the nervous energy buzzing in my chest but I’ve got to shoot my shot. “Hey, can I get your number?” I ask simply.
Her icy blue eyes grew wide as her features turn to a stunned expression, the blush that was all but gone creeping back onto her cheeks. My hand rests at the top of the pocket where my phone rests waiting for her response.
After a moment, the hesitation clear on her face, her hand starts to reach towards me, and I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. “Uhh yeah, I guess. Give me your phone and I’ll add my number in,” she says while trying to gain back her composure.
I retrieve the phone from my pocket, unlocking it, and pulling up my contacts before handing it to her. The nervous energy I felt was now being replaced with a building confidence, a broad smile spreading across my face.
She types away for a minute before handing it back as I hear a small chime from inside her hoodie pocket. Looking down I see an open text message screen where she’s saved herself under ‘Riley from the park’ and sent herself a single text that reads ‘Noah.’ A butterfly-like feeling settles in my stomach as I realize I didn’t have to give her my name, she remembered it from the park. I close out the message and lock my phone before sliding it back into my pocket and stepping away.
“Thanks, I’ll send you something soon,” I say taking a few steps backwards. “By the way, it’d be more than a few inches, darlin.” I say in a low, husky voice before winking, turning to retrieve my cart, and disappearing out of sight, leaving her standing there stunned with her mouth agape.

Kyōjurō Rengoku x DragonRider!Reader
A/N
so
I've had this stored away a very long time in a dark corner where I completely forgot about it
So I'm finally going to post the last chapter I wrote for it and then this fic is up for adoption :3
Hope you enjoy this last chapter from me
Part One
Part Two
It wasn't until Kyōjurō was turning the corner to his home did he realise that you’d called him ‘Mister Loud Restaurant Man’. which had him grinning for a delectable little moment before the realisation that you didn't know his name came crashing down. That realisation was soon brutally crushed as another realisation came crashing down.
Kyōjurō didn’t know your name either. Kyōjurō had been walking on autopilot, lost oh so deep in the ocean of thoughts about the whole ordeal that didn't even realise he’d made it home, to his room in fact. He stood silently at his door, bewildered at how lost in his thoughts he’d become.
Putting on his sleepwear Kyōjurō replayed the scene in his head mulling over what he could’ve done differently. He lay down in his futon, his thoughts still swirling, however Kyōjurō was not one to linger on what ifs, so he decided to rectify his mistake with a deceptively simple idea. Exchanging names.
You had been wearing a delicate grin amongst your blooming cheeks with your head in the clouds–both literally and figuratively–since your little woodland encounter. Of course, your small band of friends had quickly noticed the change in behaviour.
“You know, for someone that just got knocked out of the sky, you seem awfully…giddy,” Arthur spoke, Your friends hummed in agreement before trying to pry answers from your stammering lips, all the while your dragon giggled in glee knowing the reason you were acting so unusual. It didn't take long for the rest of your team to start prying for details, each of them blasting you with question after question. At this rate they'd end up blasting you out of the sky with their constant stream of inquiries. As if you needed to be rapidly plummeting back to earth again today.
After the horrendous ride back you’d remained sat on your bed carefully tending to your dragon’s wounds. Being sure to make up a better splint for a more effective recovery. The night's events played ever looping in your mind, thoughts flooding your brain and spilling out your mouth. Your dragon half-heartedly listens to your worries. Of course it wasn't that the beast didn't care, they certainly did, It's just that you seemed a bit… hysterical about the topic at hand. Raving about how strange demons were and how stunningly heroic your rescuer had been. Your thoughts were spinning and you went with them spilling an endless sea from the depths of your mind out through your mouth. 'What's up with demons? Could they be connected to the hunter activity in the area? What about this Demon Slayer Corps? Could they help if the demons and hunters are connected? Would they? And then there was your oh so handsome saviour tonight… 'The way he swung his sword…' or 'how the brilliant flames seemed to make him appear ethereal…'
Your dragon rolled their eyes, oh boy were you hooked.
---
The next time you meet it was certainly not at a restaurant. Although once upon a time it could've been. Kyōjurō has been sent to an old abandoned mansion near the coast that'd supposedly been cursed. People would see bright flashes from the far off abode combined with the most horrible screams and screeches. The corps had initially sent in a few teams to investigate but none had reported back. Now the corps was sending in the Flame Hashira.
You on the other hand were following up on hunter attacks with the rest of your team. You'd managed to narrow down possible hunter bases to 3 main points on the coast.
Over the next week the team would investigate each location to see if their suspicions were true.

Basically this was based off art by @sm0lb3tch (so credits again to them) and here we're going to make ObaMitsu canon, give the Kamado siblings new parents, give Muzan an aneurysm trying to find Nezuko when her whole family is a bunch of Hashira and as you can probably guess - deep breath - FOUND FAMILY TROPE.
Obviously in order for Obanai and Mitsuri to be the ones saving Tanjiro and Nezuko that fateful day we'd need to have them on the mission instead of Giyuu. For the sake of this theory Kagaya has assigned Mitsuri to accompany Giyuu, causing a very jealous and fuming Obanai to request (demand) to go in Tomioka’s place instead. Whether or not Kagaya is actually a shipper is up to you, but for whatever reason he says yes and Obanai proceeds to leave for the mission with Mitsuri a day or two earlier because he doesn't want Giyuu to argue with the decision when he finds out (he wouldn't) and wants some extra time with a certain pink haired crush. Mitsuri doesn't mind, she's more than happy a dear friend is accompanying her, after all!
When they reach the village Mitsuri’s a little embarrassed that she ordered so many helpings that the ramen store owner had to go out and buy more charcoal for the stove from the seller outside and Obanai's rather put out that the inn is too full for the both of them, not wanting Mitsuri to go camp out in the cold like she had suggested. Even more put out, in fact, with all the attention she's showering the charcoal seller, gushing about how he reminds her of her own brother and how hardworking he was to be doing this for his family - some idiot kid named Tanjiro something. At this point Obanai is having an existential crisis torn between disliking Tanjiro because Mitsuri's so nice to him (even feeding him a bite like in the Hashira Training Arc) and being nice to Tanjiro as well because whatever makes Mitsuri happy, makes him a happy camper. So he just settles for cold indifference.
(Yes, Tanjiro knows he's mad but doesn't realize that Obanai is mad AT HIM).
Anyways when Mitsuri expresses their problem of having nowhere to stay Tanjiro excitedly chirps that his family would be more than happy to have them over. Mitsuri, not wanting to be a bother, tries to refuse but Tanjiro insists so they compromise by letting her pay.
Then Obanai insists on paying but anyways-
We all know what happens from here so I won't go into too many details lest I bore you (small note that Tanjiro does not stay at his neighbour’s house this time and the timing is a little different to fit) but even Obanai felt terrible when they arrived and Tanjiro found his family shredded and dead. Since none of them realized Nezuko was a demon, Mitsuri helped Tanjiro begin carrying her down the mountain in order to seek help.
However the moment the truth was revealed Obanai immediately wanted to kill Nezuko despite Tanjiro’s pleas. Chaos ensues as is canon until an unsure-on-what-to-do Mitsuri finally succeeds in separating them when Nezuko suddenly defends her elder brother.
Mitsuri pleads for Obanai to reconsider, backed up by Tanjiro who says there's another demon's scent in the house so it wasn't Nezuko, at the very least take Nezuko to Oyakata-sama? If it was anyone else Obanai would have probably shoved aside to stab the demon, but since it was Mitsuri asking after all and as much as he hated to admit it he knew what it was like to have your entire family killed in such a bloody manner - so he agreed and we all know how the Hashira meeting went down.
I think I better clear up some points here, so because we have no very convincing letter from Lawyer Urokodaki to back Nezuko up we'll have Mitsuri testify that despite Obanai attacking her Nezuko made no attempt to eat him and only did a little to protect Tanjiro as well as a very grudging witness of a Serpent Pillar and why am I writing this like a court case-
Here's another important factor to how Nezuko gets off. In canon everyone dislikes (some of them at any rate) Giyuu and were very eager to have him punished and Nezuko killed, but here we have Mitsuri and Obanai as the defendants- uh, Hashira involved. Mitsuri is popular, so I feel like this would make everyone else more sympathetic to letting Nezuko live or just consider it. Obanai, not as much, but seeing how as Sanemi was the main aggressor in the canon events, I imagine he’d be pretty reluctant to throw his friend to the wolves as much as he hates demons. Also the journey to the Ubuyashiki House and summoning all Hashira would’ve taken time: time that would prove that Nezuko sleeps instead of consuming humans.
So, Nezuko and Tanjiro get off but Kagaya requests that they both become slayers to prove themselves and yadda yadda yadda. The catch is, he’s assigning Mitsuri and Obanai to do it.
(Once again we know not if Kagaya is secretly a shipper, but he said it was because a Hashira would be able to protect them both better and I don’t think any cultivator would want them.)
Mitsuri is ecstatic! Having the Kamado siblings live with her in the Love Estate is like having her younger siblings around again! You best believe this woman is treating them to six course meals (she eats twelve), shopping trips and really loves it when they come into her room for a sleepover to the point Nezuko and Tanjiro are faking reasons to just go in. A few “nightmares”, nothing much~~
Obanai, on the other hand…he’s definitely pissed off. Extremely so. But he wouldn’t disobey Kagaya and so grudgingly agrees to train Tanjiro. He’s as harsh as he was in canon, but I think at some point Obanai isn’t going to stay petty and jealous forever, and eventually warm up to Tanjiro and Nezuko’s sunny nature, probably after realizing Mitsuri just sees Tanjiro as a brother, Nezuko isn’t stealing ALL her attention, they could still hang out together alone and those precious moments he got to spend with Mitsuri a lot more.
”Aw, Obanai, that’s so sweet of you!” Mitsuri clapped her hands together, beaming at him. “I had no idea you cared about Nezuko so much!”
“…yeah, well, don’t mention it.” Thankfully his bandages covered his reddening face as he put away the wooden swords. What was Mitsuri so excited about? All he had done was to drape his haori on the sleeping demon when she suddenly dozed off in the midst of watching yet another brutal training session between him and her brother - a brother who was now being forced to run twenty laps around the Estate for even mentioning his actions.
“I know, but I can’t help it! You’re really a softie inside no matter what you say to Tanjiro!”
“What? Since when?!”
Mitsuri laughed at Obanai’s shocked expression. “Like yesterday! Tanjiro’s food was cold but he didn’t want to make a fuss at the restaurant but you went and demanded another plate, or when Nezuko shrunk and hid in my house you came over just to help us find her. Then it turned out she got stuck in one of the cupboards and you helped dig her out. Plus you’re always so nice to me too, like when you got me the socks, or offer to pay every time we go out to eat-”
“Okay! Okay! I get it, please stop, Kanroji…” Kaburamaru hissed reassuringly as Obanai quickly turned away from Mitsuri to hide his red face.
“You can call me Mitsuri, you know?” Mitsuri suddenly yanked him into a crushing hug excitedly, oblivious to Obanai’s flustered state. “Kyaaaaaaah! I’m so glad Oyakata-sama assigned us both together to train and take care of Tanjiro and Nezuko! I’ve gotten to spend so much time with my favorite Hashira - uh, wait, that’s Shinobu…so male Hashira! - and you’re actually really good with kids! I think you’ll be an amazing dad if we ever have our own kids one day!”
Silence.
“…I’MSOSORRYI’LLGOCRAWLINTOAHOLETOHIDENOW-”
“….that’s…a…nice….thought…”
“AAH, OBANAI, I MADE YOU FAINT I’M SO SORRY-”
Well, you can pretty much guess how they got together after that.
Because I’m a human and at the end of the day I’m lazy I will not elaborate and instead let your imagination run wild with how exactly they officially confessed after that night, broke it to the Kamado siblings and the rest of the Hashira and the messy details I can’t think of right now. I will, however, talk a bit more on how it changes the storyline.
Obanai eventually moves into Mitsuri’s Estate, shortly before the Final Selection (they celebrate with pancakes when Tanjiro comes back safely by the way; Obanai had a hell of a day trying to calm Mitsuri after she couldn’t stop crying worried that Tanjiro would be eaten. Now that I think of it, this might cause them both to go lodge a complaint on how the Final Selection is being run, because how exactly sending kids off to certain doom constitute as teaching? They should’ve done some other tests, one where they could monitor and guide where they did wrong and y’know, NOT MAKE ANOTHER GIYUU? (Sorry, I’m getting off track)).
There won’t be much variation for the beginning of the storyline, save for the fact Tanjiro and Nezuko have a home to return to in between for Mitsuri to cheer that they made it back and spoil while Obanai berates them for taking so long and fixes their ruined haori (I have like this idea that Obanai struggles with love language so he mainly sticks to small gestures like gifts revolving around clothes because you’ll use them every day and I dunno, if he was stuck in that cage in a house full of women he might’ve picked up a bit of sewing and figure out how to fix the holes in his loved ones’ haori?) as well as Tanjiro’s relationships with the Hashira change:
Obanai and Mitsuri aside, a major difference would be Giyuu. Tanjiro would not be developing a bond with him in this theory and honestly I feel like he would be the one to heavily advise against allowing Nezuko to live, therefore creating an enemy in Tanjiro. It doesn’t really help that’s he’s a loner whose words really don’t make sense to anyone and Obanai hates his guts, so it’ll take longer for Tanjiro to crack open his backstory and he would probably treat Giyuu like how he behaved to Sanemi in the Training Arc - “It’s okay! I don’t acknowledge you either since you didn’t want Nezuko to live.”
I’ll just skim through the rest of the Hashira before we move on. Shinobu, Rengoku, Sanemi and Muichiro would be a heck lot closer to Tanjiro and Nezuko since the four of them are on good terms with their adoptive parents, hence the Kamados would be seeing Shinobu a lot more often, cry harder at Rengoku’s death, soften Sanemi (perhaps fix his relationship with Genya?) and transform Muichiro into the silly boy we love earlier.
Do note, however, in this theory Tanjiro has mastered not one but TWO Breathing Styles and I’m sure he would then pick up Total Concentration Breathing a lot faster, so he’s definitely even more powerful in this universe. The same would apply for Nezuko, though in the sense that her physical prowess is better having been trained by two Hashira because even Mitsuri and Obanai can’t do anything about Blood Demon Art. Although, at the end of the storyline Tanjiro still learns Sun Breathing/Hinokami Kagura.
Another thing to be noted is that while I said MUCH variation that doesn’t mean there won’t be any subtle ones in Mitsuri and Obanai’s behavior and personality. I can’t really think of much for Mitsuri, other than the fact she’ll be more motherly and stuff, and probably really ecstatic that she’s finally achieved her dream of finding someone who’ll love her unconditionally and a family. I can see Tanjiro and Nezuko being really popular with her siblings as well.
For Obanai there’s a much bigger gap, as he’ll definitely mellow out and be less snarky. You know those gruff, serious dads who don’t show emotions or love easily but if you make a dumb crayon drawing from kindergarten he hasn’t taken it down from the fridge since and if some bully even implied you’re stupid they’re a goner because he’s there? Something like that for Obanai, I guess. Basically he’d be a lot less sarcastic and cutting with others and not as jealous because he knows Mitsuri is his and well…he’s not gonna admit it but he’s actually very touched when Tanjiro said he’s really glad he’s his new dad (Uncle Sanemi and Godbrother Muichiro anyone-).
BUT BUT BUT the big difference arrives on Mount Natagumo: home of Rui.
Instead of Giyuu and Shinobu arriving it’s ObaMitsu because what parent doesn’t worry about their kids, especially when they hear it’s a Lower Moon. So in this case it’s Mitsuri off to go save Zenitsu with Nezuko, whom Tanjiro had ordered to go help their surrogate mom navigate the crazy mountain and find Spider Sister, although Mitsuri is going to kill her with a lot more compassion…and leave Tanjiro to attempt to get Obanai off from stepping on the remains of Rui.
Okay, serious question, do you think Obanai would stomp on them more to be petty-
(DON’T KILL ME, I’M SORRY, I LOVE RUI AS MUCH AS THE NEXT PERSON, IF NOT MORE.)
Back to the storyline, this time round the reason Tanjiro and Nezuko are taken to yet another Hashira meeting is due to being able to celebrate the success of having finally slain one of the Twelve Kizuki. They still will go to the Butterfly Mansion, of course, most probably because their adoptive parents have missions of their own and honestly do you really trust them to be your doctor?
Anyways, aside from the little differences like it’s Mitsuri who brings her adoptive kids to the Swordsmith Village and Obanai going to the Entertainment District to go pick up his kids it’s all yadda yadda yadda, so we can pretty much guess what happens next, therefore I’ll jump straight to the two endings/outcomes that would be changed because of this theory. Depending on your mood today you can read the Bad Ending or jump straight to the Good Ending and don’t say I didn’t warn you <333 (I gotta go hide before you hunt me for the Bad Ending, ta!).
BAD ENDING:
Notice how not once did I say that Obanai and Mitsuri ever got married though?
Bwhahaha. Now I am. And you’re not going to like it.
Obanai had the ring (helped picked out by Nezuko). He had the plans (dinner made by Tanjiro; Shinobu would be babysitting the kids that night). He wanted it to be memorable when he would finally ask Mitsuri to allow him the privilege of becoming a Kanroji and probably officiate the adoption of Tanjiro and Nezuko.
But it all got shoved aside when they had to do the Hashira Training. Obanai slowly regrets waiting that long, but while he’s not an optimistic person in general he hopes that afterwards he’ll get the chance when everything is so perfectly in order. Of course Muzan took one look and thought “absolutely not” - and deposits them all into the Infinity Castle.
So it’s only in their dying moments that Obanai confesses. He can’t even put a ring on her, because she’s lost her arms.
Mitsuri said yes and asks if they’re reborn would he still marry her?
He says yes. At least they die happy. Unable to be pulled apart even in their last moments.
(Tanjiro and Nezuko ensure to carve a love poem into their headstones and bury them in wedding clothes, so at least they can be together in death.)
GOOD ENDING:
Now that Obanai and Mitsuri have SOMETHING to live here they’ll live on in this theory. Mitsuri armless and Obanai totally blind, but hey, with diligent kids like Tanjiro and Nezuko they would be well taken care of no matter what, rebuilding their family slowly.
Eventually Obanai and Mitsuri are blessed with their own kids! Five, if I remember what happened in canon, so because I’m self-indulgent let’s simultaneously rebuild the Kamado family and combine the OC children I originally made for them. Nezuko’s delighted to receive two twin younger sisters and a baby one, spending majority of her time with them doing their hair or just playing dolls (Zenitsu steaming mad because they keep stealing her attention and don’t like him). Tanjiro feels like he’s got his own siblings back again with the Kanroji’s two rowdy boys who often beg him to teach them swordsmanship and perform the Hinokami Kagura. Does Obanai gift them all tiny snakelings? Absolutely. Does any of them inherit Mitsuri’s hair? One or two, but Mitsuri’s sakura mochi is a family recipe now (I’d like to think Kotetsu somehow managed to forge a pair of mechanical arms for her).
Oh, imagine Mitsuri and Obanai at Tanjiro/Kanao and Nezuko/Zenitsu’s weddings! Mitsuri would be amazing mother-in-law for anyone and you bet your ass that she helped plan the best wedding possible for them, welcoming Kanao and Zenitsu happily into the family and perhaps being a little embarrassing for the newlyweds because she’s asking when they plan to have children or a honeymoon - sorry, she can’t help it, she’s just so excited! Obanai dislikes Zenitsu INTENSELY (he dislikes all boys near his girls, but Zenitsu the most funny enough) and makes it VERY known with glares and snide remarks; he likes Kanao better though, so he’d probably tell Tanjiro to treat her right or he’ll give him a walloping blind or not.
AND WHEN THE KIDS COME-
(exhales, clears throat, reminds myself that other people are watching) So I hope YOU cried, because I did. And I’m not totally cruel, alright! So for funsies here’s an extra snippet in which Mitsuri and Obanai reincarnate as the godparents of Tanjiro and Nezuko’s descendants:
“Are you-” The man ran his hand through his already unruly ponytail again. “Are you actually stupid? You better be. You have to be. You can’t possibly not be.”
“I’M SORRY! I REALLY AM! I DIDN’T MEAN TO POUR IN SALT INSTEAD OF SUGAR! TOKO, HELP ME!” Yoshiteru was a snotty, emotional mess as always, even more highly strung when faced with his godfather Obanai’s cold rage…especially after he made a mess of himself as usual.
“I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE STILL ASKING ME FOR HELP AFTER THAT!” Toko smacked her brother upside on the hand. “Don’t even associate with me right now! The cake must be disgusting, and Tojuro can only distract Sumihiko for so long before he comes to the restaurant!”
Obanai pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out another exasperated sigh. “We’re going to have to start all over again; Yoshiteru, get out of the kitchen and if I see you so much as pop your head by the door or so help me-”
“Hey, hey, Obanai, you don’t have to be so harsh! It was a genuine mistake after all!”
The pink-haired woman pulled her husband into a quick hug, pressing a quick peck to his temple that left him tomato red under his face mask. Kanata followed from behind, holding a tray of fresh baked goods and obviously bewildered by what was happening.
“Mitsuri - I told you I could handle this - you need to rest-”
“What, sit back and do nothing for my godson’s birthday?” Mitsuri pouted, rubbing her swollen belly. “I’m sure baby wants to help as well!”
“SEE? IT’S NOT SO BAD!” Yoshiteru hollered, desperately trying to escape his sister’s glowering. “Tojuro’s good, he’ll probably keep Sumihiko occupied for a really long time!”
“Oh my god, just get out of the kitchen and go help Mom and Dad set up the restaurant for his birthday party or something!” Toko gave him a powerful kick out the door.
“HEY! Aren’t the Agatsuma girls supposed to be sweet and gentle? You’re a monster!”
“A monster who can bake a cake without creating disasters!” Obanai barked.
Mitsuri laughed. Obanai could never get enough of that sound. “You’re going to be a great dad…”
“…thank you…you’ll…you’ll be a great mom…too…”
“Sorry to interrupt Iguro-san fainting again but Tojuro just called and said Sumihiko is coming back,” Kanata said matter-of-factly, shutting off his pinging phone.
“WHAT?! TOJURO THE TRAITOR-”
Yoshiteru seemed to have awakened Obanai from his near faint. “What did I say about coming back into the kitchen?!”

(Thanks to a chat that I discovered on Character AI, I ended up developing an OC which lead me to develop some variations of a story for her and now I got the idea of using one of them here).
Good afternoon! I apologize from now as I feel like I might make you uncomfortable. Anyway, so I had a thought.
What if hypothetically Genya never joined the Demon Slayer Corps and instead after the death of your family he started living with a relative (let's say that your dad has a younger brother called Riku who is actually a nice, responsable and patient person unlike his brother). Now one day you are doing whatever you would be doing at your estate when a slayer comes to you to deliver a letter from someone he says indentified to himself as your younger brother under the name Genya. After some nervous and quick explanations about how they happned to meet and Genya asked him if he ever heard of someone with your name and then asked him to deliver you the letter, the slayer gives you his farewells and leaves.
Eventually, as soon as you have time, you sit down and read Genya's letter. After some greetings, introductive formalities and an apology for how he reacted that morning all those years ago, he tells you about his life since then. He tells you that after the funeral he had been taken in by uncle Riku who treated him like the son he never got to have. He basically tells you about how him and Riku had some great years only the two of them untill his very recent death. He talks about how in these years Riku managed to homeschool him in some basic stuff like reading, writting, basic math etc., had him help with all sorths of tasks Riku couldn't do due to his bad leg, got a job as kitchen help at the restaurant ran by Riku's best friend who acts as a unofficial uncle to him (and who might encourage him when he feels like causing mischief) and made some friends that are greatfull for him and that he is apreciated throught the village for all the help he gives around. Overall, he describes himself as happy and content with his life, except that he wished to get the chance to see you again as he misses you a lot. I imagine a letter like this would make you satisfied as it sounds like your brother has gotten to live the life you envisioned for him, safe, happy, surounded by loved ones and with no knowledge of demons. Such good news is exactly what you needed after the anouncement about Kyojuro's death.
You turn the page to see what else did Genya wrote you about just to see that the last page is not from Genya. Instead, it is from the slayer who brought you the letter. The slayer wrote about how, despite Genya asking him not to give you the details about how the two of them actually got to meet, he can't withold such information in good conscience. He tells you about how he found Genya while he was wounded and running away from a demon. Fortunately, he managed to behead the demon before he could kill Genya, but Genya still ended up needing medical help due to some slashes the demon left along Genya's back while he tried to excape. He also mentions helping Genya get to his wretched home where the shredded and maimed body of uncle Riku was laying on the floor. He assures you that Genya is mostly alright as he now lives with uncle Riku's best friend and his family and his wounds were aparently not fatal but will surely let behind some ugly scars.
(To Esha: Sometimes I like to think of hypothetical situation and what ifs for stories that I like and the Shinazugawa brothers still live in my head rent free. Anyway, when you get to answer this when you are done with your exams I will be glad to see you back. Hope it all went well and that you are ok, especially since I remember you mentioning being predisposed to some health problems aside from having a lot on your plate. Lots of hugs!🤗💕)
That'd be nice... A world where Genya is safe and sound and loved and alive. It's all I've ever wanted for him.
That's all he has to do: live his life, the best he possibly, so that he can make up for what the rest of our family never got to do.
It's a shame about Uncle Riku but Genya will cope, like he always has.
And I'll keep fighting, I'll keep him safe from a far distance so that nothing ever gets close to him again.
(From Esha: Anca, my babyyyy! I've still got three exams left and I have one of them in a few hours but I was so happy when I logged into this account and saw your message! It really energised me and I just had to answer everything, I couldn't wait any longer! Health-wise, I'm doing much, much better, and my acne's finally cleared up, just gotta get rid of the scarring now! I got my prom dress, too, so I'm super excited!)

Tolling Bells (Kyojuro Rengoku x Fem-Reader)
I was listening to "You are the Reason" by Callum Scott and now this won't get out of my head. Wholesome things here, hope you enjoy!
......
As wedding bells toll, the groom was seen standing in line to go to the altar.
Today is obviously a huge day, with everyone dressed their absolute best and guests sitting and waiting patiently. However, Rengoku was sweating beads, unsure of what to do with himself. No mission or assignment as a demon slayer was this damn stressful. Tanjiro, the best man, took a handkerchief and quickly patted the sweat off of Rengoku's forehead. Everything was running through his mind all at once, what ifs and hypothetical situations coursing through it as if it were a rushing flood.
"Hey, mister Rengoku, remember this is your wedding. There's no need to worry about anything. Mitsuri has everything planned to a T, so don't worry, Okay?" Tanjiro tried reassuring him while adjusting the groom's tie.
"I understand, young Kamado, however I didn't expect this kind of stress today. N-not to say it's bad, but gods, I'm really marrying the love of my life today, aren't I?" Rengoku sheepishly spoke, rubbing the back of his head like an awkward teen would. Giyuu and surprisingly Obanai placed a hand on his back, trying to comfort the poor man as he sweats buckets.
"You know, if you don't stop sweating I'll have to waste all of my cologne on you... not that it would be a bad thing of course." Obanai tried being nice with that, but Giyuu could see right through it, giving him a cold glare.
"Look, all we need you to do is just relax. This is your soon to be wife, so enjoy the moment with her. After all, if there's no vow renewal this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so cherish it. Don't worry about anything else, just like Kamado said." Rengoku looked at the water hashira, giving a firm nod as he smiled. Giyuu's faced then donned the ghost of a faint smile. "There's that smile, now go get em wildfire."
Nezuko on the other hand was busy with you, adjusting your dress the way that it needed to be.
"Guys are you sure this looks good? I'm not so sure about the placement of the veil..." You wondered aloud, taking one last good look in the mirror before you absolutely needed to go out there.
"Uh, yeah! You look amazing (y/n), I'm sure Rengoku-san will be left in tears once he sees you!" Mitsuri chimed, it offered a lot of reassurance that the Love breathing hashira could tell you looked good- no phenomenal on your wedding day. It was a nerve wracking thing for you. After having so many failed relationships, you finally found the one that truly makes you happy. But this, this is definitely not the type of stress you expected. "Heyyy now (y/n), let's not focus on the negative. As your wedding planner I am here to ensure your comfort and satisfaction! So don't sweat it 'kay? Besides, you got a flame hashira to marry!" Nezuko grunted in approval of Mitsuri's statement, a look of determination on her face as she pushed you out of the bridal suite and into the hall where Shinobu, your maid of honor, was waiting for you.
"I knew it was missing something..." Shinobu muttered, rushing back to the bridal suite to get something, leaving you in the middle of the hallway with Nezuko and Mitsuri. However quickly returning with a gold tiara that matches the undertones of your off-white dress. The tiara, adorned with rubies, yellow topaz, and obsidian, was placed just above where your veil sat. "There, now you're ready to walk with your head held high. Remember you're so loved, by all of us!" Tears pricked your eyes as you took in Shinobu's words. You were truly blessed to have her as a friend, who you would dare to consider a sister.
As time went on, and the wedding party walked through, you took the arm of none other than Ubuyashiki. He was feeling particularly well this day, and knowing that your father was killed in a fire he more than willingly took up the offer to walk you down the aisle. "Are you ready, young (l/n)? Or should I say Mrs. Rengoku?" He asked softly, and with a deep breath and firm nod you looked ahead. Ahead to your future, ahead to a life with the man you love and will continue to love for the rest of time. But you heard a familiar voice, and he was singing?
Backtracking a bit: At the altar there was a piano set up, and Rengoku has no clue what's in store as Tengen sat down at said piano with his wives lined up with microphones. He then proceeded to have the most intense, eyes only conversation with him.
"Uzui-san, what are you doing? Do you even know how to play piano?"
"Well for one, I'm the god of flashiness and festivals and celebrations. Why the hell would I not know how to play piano? Or any instrument for that matter?"
"Fair enough, still doesn't answer my first question though."
"Oh, that... you'll see :))))))"
Rengoku sighed and looked to Gyomei, who just smiled at him knowing exactly what was about to go down.
Back to the present moment: As the rest of the bridesmaids and groomsmen came in through the procession, Rengoku's heart kept skipping beats as the piano started. An extremely familiar tune filling his ears, making tears prick at the corners of his eyes.
"It's okay to cry, this is a beautiful moment, Rengoku-san." Gyomei comforted the groom as best as he could. Then Tengen started to sing.
"It was just two lovers Sittin' in the car, listening to Blonde Fallin' for each other Pink and orange skies, feelin' super childish No Donald Glover Missed call from my mother Like, "Where you at tonight?" Got no alibi"
Sanemi and Genya moved to the doors, holding the handles and ready to open them to reveal the bride.
"I was all alone with the love of my life She's got glitter for skin My radiant beam in the night...
Genya and Sanemi braced themselves for the sight that Rengoku was about to behold.
"I don't need no light to see you..."
The doors opened.
"Shine"
Everyone rose up for the bride as Tengen sang and his wives harmonized with him beautifully. Rengoku's jaw dropped to the floor, his eyes basking in your beauty in the evening's golden hour light. You smiled at him, tears threatening to ruin the makeup Nezuko carefully painted onto your skin. The tiara not once wobbling as you held your head high, with Ubuyashiki walking you down the aisle to him. The bridesmaids looked at you with a "GO BAD BITCH GO BAD BITCH GO-" kind of look. The groomsmen hyping Rengoku up, with Tanjiro being his biggest supporter.
There was no first look, there were no hints to either of you as to what you guys looked like. All of it was a nice surprise, and it was thanks to Mitsuri holding everyone to secrecy.
Once you got to said alter, the song had eventually ended and Ubuyashiki handed you off to Rengoku, giving him a hug. "Take care of her my boy, she is indeed very special." Rengoku looked at his leader, then to his father. Though Shinjuro did indeed have a bit of an indifferent scowl on his face, his eyes told him that he is proud of his son. Senjuro on the other hand just smiled and gave him a thumbs up, being careful not to drop the rings on the pillow in his lap.
Gyomei cleared his throat to speak: "Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here in celebration of two beautiful souls. Two people who's paths crossed at some point in time in the universe to get to this point." As he went on, you had Rengoku's hands in yours, stroking them with your thumb reassuringly. He looked at you in the eyes lovingly, something about this was different. It was almost like he was desperate for this to be over.
"Today, the bride and groom have decided to use rings as a symbol of their unity-" as if on cue, Senjuro arrives with the pillow bearing the rings, standing between Gyomei, Rengoku, and you. "The purpose of the ring is to ensure that there is no way the cycle of love can be broken, given that the shape of the rings are circles. Circles represent a never ending process, which is exactly like this marriage. Everlasting and undying. Rengoku-san, please take (y/n)'s ring and hold it." He did what he was told. "Now, say your vows." Rengoku took a deep breath, not wanting to rush this but at the same time wanting this to be over. The anxiety and excitement getting to him like a child in a wonderland.
"(y/n), my darling flame, my passion, my muse. There are many things in life that are near and dear to my heart, and then there are some that are mundane and not as close to me. When I first met you, in your time of strife, I knew I wanted to help you, to be there for you, and to give my all for you. But after the battle at Mugen Train, and you saving me with your bravery and swift thinking, I knew for a fact that you were the one person I can keep close to me. You were there for everything afterwards, we obviously started dating shortly after my recovery. But I can say for certain that there is no one else that can truly set my heart ablaze the way you do. Everyday is an adventure, and there's not a day that I don't cherish you with every fiber and ember of my being. I love you for the way you are, the way you present yourself, the way you show up everyday with the brightest smile, and moreover for you in general. I love you so much, my beautiful sunflower, may many more days of happiness and laughter come for us." The crowd, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and you were in tears. Gyomei took a deep breath before speaking again.
"Please slip the ring onto (y/n)'s finger." Rengoku slipped it on, it fit you so well. The gold was genuine and the diamonds were beautifully placed into the shape of a flame. "(y/n), please take Rengoku-san's ring and say your vows." You looked at him smiling, not really sure of where to start.
"Well firstly, I'd like to thank the groom for making me a sobbing mess in the best way possible-" the crowd trickled into laughter. "But with that said, I'd also like to thank him for endless memories, yes even the bad ones. When you nearly died in my arms at Mugen Train, I knew from that day on that there was no one else I'd rather train with, no one else I'd rather give my all with, no one else that i would show my soft side to and no one else I'd rather be with. I want to be by your side through everything, be home to see you come home to me, to hopefully our children, and many other generations of the family we hope to create. Like you said, there are some things I keep dear to me and others I find mundane, but I don't find you to be mundane in the slightest. Kyojuro Rengoku I love you and nothing will ever change that, nothing, not even death, will keep us apart. By blade and blood, by love and life, we will always be together until our dying breath. It's truly you who is the shining beam in this relationship. You set my heart ablaze, you are my fighting spirit, you are my drive to keep going even when it's harder than the battles in my mind, in the real world, or against even the fiercest of demons. Kyojuro Rengoku, I love you, thank you for everything you've given me and still continue to give. Through thick and thin, I know our love is bound to prevail." Okay, now everyone is crying, even Inosuke is crying. Great job! Gyomei motioned to speak.
"(y/n), please slip the ring onto Rengoku-san's finger." And so you did, the gold circle slipping onto his finger with the message "Remember to set your heart ablaze and go beyond." engraved onto it. "In addition to the rings and vows, the couple has decided to light a unity candle, provided by Shinjuro Rengoku. The flame is to symbolize a spark of unity, an undying symbol of their love for one another." Shinjuro approached the altar, a large candle in his hands as he placed it onto a small table high enough to meet your waist. "Today, let this candle serve as a reminder of this couple's undying love."
Shinjuro looked at his son, a proud look in his eyes but there was something different... he was sober. "I'm so proud of you my son, but hurt her and I'll do unspeakable things." He smiled as he spoke, the first time both you and Rengoku saw in years. The younger of the two smiled and hugged his father to which, surprisingly, he hugged his son back. Then he turned to you, "And as for you, hold him to his word. And remember, my family is yours, always." Tears filled your eyes as you nodded in response, earning a hug from the man. Are you dreaming, or is this real? Either way, it didn't matter. Shinjuro is proud of his son and you, and that's all that matters.
You picked up the lighter with Rengoku, moving in sync with him as he lit the candle with you. It's flame sparking at first, then growing to a tall flame but slowly settling with time. You put the lighter down and went back to holding his hand. "Kyojuro Rengoku, do you take (y/n) (l/n) to be your wife? In sickness and health, in fortune and strife, and in good and bad times, for as long as you both shall live?" Gyomei spoke, all the while Rengoku just looked at you with the most lovestruck expression, just as he did when you both first met.
"I do, always." Tears filled your eyes, this is actually happening.
"(y/n) (l/n), do you take Kyojuro Rengoku to be your husband? In sickness and health, in fortune and strife, and in good and bad times, for as long as you both shall live?" Gyomei repeated his words but this time directing them towards you. A soft and gentle, yet loving and fierce look gracing your facial features.
"I do, always." You replied, just as your now husband did.
"With that said, I pronounce you as husband and wife. Ladies and gentleman, it is a pleasure to introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Kyojuro Rengoku. Rengoku-san, you may kiss your bride!" Everyone cheered and hooted as Rengoku dipped you down deep, kissing you softly yet passionately all the same. The table with the candle was moved out of the way as you both walked away from the altar hand in hand. Eager to start a new chapter of your lives.
Eager to get on with the life you dreamed of, with Kyojuro Rengoku, your husband.
......
OMFG THIS IS SO LONG- I'm actually really proud of this though, I didn't think I'd push my limits like this. Let me know if you want to see more like this, or if you want a part two!

My turn @risingscorchingsuns to go on about my OC Amari instead 🩶 and How her death would impact morale and the Corps (I tried idk if I did okay 😭)
Canonically, she dies in Infinity Arc with most of the other Pillars and almost everyone else so I'm actually going to do how it would impact specifically Giyu and Sanemi, and the squad as a whole since, as I have her character right now, she doesn't interact with them much. Then I'll get into the 'What ifs' about her dying sooner.
Amari lived quietly and kept to herself amongst her life in the corps. The connections and friendships she made, however, were very deep and meaningful. Those who didn't know her, most likely didn't mourn her much. Another lost slayer gone in the sea of souls to those monsters.
But to Sanemi, who's also mourning most of his comrades and the last remaining member of his family? He also lost the only other person who understood the need to bury everything, the burning hatred for the world, keeping everyone out. She didn't make him feel so strange or alone. And now he was alone again.
Amari and Giyu were never too close. They were mainly sparring partners and he would give her pointers every now and then. But the sight of her lifeless eyes, no longer the dull emptiness hiding something deeper. These were truly lifeless, hazed over and dead. Her eyes would haunt his dreams for the rest of his short life.
Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu all remember seeing her around the butterfly mansion...sometimes. She never stuck around much. But now they all stared at her and Muichiro's lifeless forms clinging to one another. 'Sunrise brings hope,' she had said to them once. 'i hope that on my final sunrise, there will be no more demons.' But who could hope for an outcome like this?
Now onto the 'What if she died sooner?'
Her quiet and seemingly apathetic attitude around the Corps would rub people the wrong way until a rumor began to swirl as she moved up the ranks. Her gaze was dull and empty as she swung those practice swords against her fellow corps members.
Against a demon, however, her eyes were bright and her face would be twisted in a mixture of disgust and an anger so fierce that if looks could kill, the demon would have seen hell in an instant. That was the rumor anyways.
It wouldn't matter, as the Kakushi would cover her body with a sheet. To the others, she was another number. But to one in particular..They looked up at Lady Kocho, her back to them as they waited for the next command. She would refuse to meet the gaze of her colleague as she spoke.
"Please ensure they have a proper burial." The Pillar would whisper into the empty air. Amari had made it to Tsuchinoe but had jumped in front of an attack to save Kocho's life and she couldn't save her. She was tired...
