If Dove's store went into the Lmk universe/storyline, how whould dove react to Mk? And Wukong being put into another circlet??

I'm sorry for how off the rails this ask is going to get, I'm including a lot of other stuff besides your questions cuz I've already thought about this a lot.

@marcu-bug and I have brought it up to each other before, and in LMK… Dove is reincarnated. Will I explain why?

For this, Dove is sort of like a maternal figure to MK (He's got so many dads, why not add a mom friend?). I have a oneshot planned where I'll go more into her character, but I imagine in the lmk universe, she’d be a paramedic that usually stops by Pigsy’s for lunch. Dinner too if she’s had a long day. Which is most days.

She definitely gets a lot of those ‘worried-parent’ feelings around MK and Mei, with how often they go jumping at the chance to do dumb shit. She’s seen a lot of things, but dear lord do those to take the cake for number of calls she’s had to respond to. Actually, that’s probably how she first discovered the noodle shop, responding to a call Pigsy made when Mei took MK for a ride on her motorcycle and they crashed. I imagine like an old bartender, Pigsy would listen to her rants about her shift with Tang enjoying a bowl next to her. Being a paramedic is tough, having her gift is helpful but sometimes Dove is running into hostile situations on the job. Sometimes she sees something that shakes her, but Pigsy and Tang are there to listen at the end of the day. It also helped her to unwind by hearing Tang tell MK all about the Journey to the West and the Monkey King. It'd be a lie to say she wasn't a little intrigued by his stories, just a bit.

She joins the monkie gang when the pilot begins and helps out when she can, and funnily enough, Red Son gets pretty uncomfortable around her. Not that she gets to join her friends too often, and for a very specific reason. Sun Wukong. At first, Dove thinks he's a generally cold guy, he's always on his mountain, doesn't socialize much, and he's pretty standoff-ish around her. But after seeing how he is with MK, she quickly realizes that isn't the case.

Okay, he's just an ass, then. A confusing one, at that.

It seems like Monkey King will do whatever it takes to avoid her, but at the same time, he pushes himself into her life in the most frustrating ways imaginable. Nearly anytime she's invited to do anything fun with her friends or go on any sort of adventure, she gets a call from her building manager that something is leaking in her apartment, or a strange call from her boss asking if she can do another shift last-minute, only for them to be none the wiser about ever asking her to do that. Dove didn't realize who was behind these strange happenings, but when she figured it out, boy was she pissed.

It's not uncommon to see Dove and Wukong arguing, much to MK's dismay. She just doesn't get why he's decided to hate her, he doesn't even know her! One time, he asked her to help a monkey of Flower Fruit Mountain that needed medical help, but when she got there, he left her stranded on the mountain while he went on vacation! Dove couldn't see the mainland for days until MK and Tang visited the mountain for a separate reason about some giant dumpling. It doesn't get much better when the team has to go looking for the Samadhi rings. If anything, it gets worse. Monkey King is so aggravated to even have Dove with them, she'd half-expect that he wanted her left to be frozen in the city with Lady Bone Demon! He doesn't want her anywhere near the ritual where they form the fire. The unfriendly behaviour doesn't stop until, well, Amnesia Rules…

When Monkey King loses his memory and gives her this look of shock, the last thing she expects is for him to scoop her into his arms with the tightest hug she's ever experienced. A flip switched in his attitude towards her, and it's made all the more confusing after he explains that Pigsy is Zhu Bajie and Tang is Tang Sanzang

"Who do you think I am, then?"

"You're my one and only, Love-Dove!"

She's not sure what's worse, that god-awful nickname or the fact that he thinks he's in love with her! Although, as the day goes by… she can't say she's unopposed to seeing this much friendlier side of him. Even if she only got to see it for a little while.

It likely wouldn't be until Wukong is about to face LBD that he finally admits to her why he was so upset about her being there, how she was the reincarnation of his one and only love. A love he lost, in a way that he could only blame himself. He couldn't bear the thought of putting her near harm's way again, not when their mission revolved around a power that was responsible for her past life's death (I might go into it in another ask/post, this is getting long)

After learning all of what they'd gone through in her past life, Dove is… apprehensive, to say the least. Some of his actions from the past, they make sense to her now, but it doesn't make her forgive him completely. Still, she remembers how Sun Wukong was when he had lost his memory… she would like to see that side of him more.

It takes them time to get past their rocky start (these two can never just start off liking each other smh), but in time, Dove starts to see more of that side she'd seen during Amnesia Rules. And she starts to fall for him all over again. He tells her about her past life, their time together on the journey, all of it. He admits how he robbed her of immortality… and how she tricked him into wearing the circlet. Their ups and their downs, he tells her everything. By the time season 5 rolls around, they're happy together. He's even offered her an immortal peach from the tree he's grown on FFM, so that he can finally make up for the mistake he made all those years ago.

Then… Li Jing puts the circlet on Wukong, again.

The moment Dove finds out, she's furious. How could they hurt him like that again?! Wukong tries to put her mind at ease, but it takes a lot to calm her down. "It's fine, Dove… I was honestly pretty disappointed. He put it on and just left, at least you were creative about it back in the day." That night, in the back of Sandy's van, Dove is littering his head in kisses, she can hardly imagine how painful it must feel. You best believe the moment they see Li Jing chasing them, she's aiming whatever she can find straight for his head. If he thinks he can induce some magic migraine on her man like that, she'll find a way to pay back the favour, tenfold. Nobody touches her Sun Wukong but her.

As a nod to season 5, I can imagine in Wukongverse Old Li is the more favorable in Nezhaverse's opinion(I hc him as someone who was like Yunxiang in youth and paid the price hence his personality.)

If he was still alive I can imagine old Li calling out AU Li Jing despite the power difference.

I love the idea of all the Wukongverse wondering who's the worst/best of Nezha's fathers and begin comparing. Nezha (2019) Li Jing barely makes the "OK" ranking for trying to take Nezha's place when the Heavens did the ban hammer on him and Ao Bing - still not a great father. HiB Zhu Bajie is likely pretending to be the Pagoda King for clout so he's disqualified (never refers to himself as Li Jing or as Nezha's dad).

Soon the many Li Jings are compared and graded against one another - only for Ace (NewGods!SWK) to comment;

Ace: "What about you, tudi? Your dad seems cool." Li Yunxiang: "My dad isn't Li Jing though..." LMK!Nezha: "Rule is best or worst "Nezha's Dad". You're our reincarnation. Your dad counts." Whole Room: (*agreeable mummuring*) Peach: "Ok, it is official. Li Yunxiang has the best Nezha's Dad." Li Yunxiang: "Thanks...?"

Old Li I feel can be a bit of hardass on his sons, mainly out of fear/worry. They are living in a drought and economic depression, and he doesn't want either of them going down dark paths. Since the NewGods films take place roughly in the 1920s/Republic-era; I wouldn't be surprised if Old Li experienced the horrors of the first world war and was very much like Yunxiang at his age. And unlike the other "Nezha's Dads"; Old Li isn't a lord or a god, he's a mortal mechanic trying his best to raise his sons + his adoptive daughter.

I bet if Old Li was in a room with all the Li Jings (wukongverse shennangians) and saw how they treat their kids, he'd scold them without a second thought.

Old Li: "A god you call yourself, and yet you cannot even soothe your child's worries when he's made a mistake. I worry for you when he becomes a teenager."

May or not proceed to brag about his kids and how proud he is of them despite all the "god nonsense" his youngest has gotten himself tied up in.

The Li Jings are aghast and furious at the gal of this mortal, and ask him who is he to pass judgement on the Pagoda King?

Ace: "He's the father of my tudi, Li Yunxiang. The reincarnated Nezha."

The Li Jings all suddenly pause and stare. This frail, elderly mortal managed to fully raise his Nezha?! To adulthood!? How is he alive!?! How has he managed to control a demon child that brought gods to his knees and nearly kill them times over?!

Old Li, copying a slang he heard from the modern universes: "Skill issue."

Some of the younger Nezhas actually even prefer Old Li to their fathers. He's a bit tough sure, but he's a good man who's willing to make compromises with his kids.

Zhu Li Na:

Li Na is the biological child of Pigsy and Tang. She's a big fan of cooking, reading and Chang'e-- but most of all of her big brother MK. Being a descendant of Zhu Bajie and a reincarnation of Golden Cicada means she's full of untapped potential-- and dangers. For right now though, she's just a kid with the biggest and bestest family in Megapolis and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Li Qiū Zi:

Qiū Zi is a descendant of the Bakunawa, the Dragon of the Philippines sea, also known as the moon eater. Though she was never allowed to express the dragon side of hers due to her father's hatred towards all demons and yao. Resulting to her coming from a neglectful/abusive household.

By the time she turned ten, Qiū Zi was cursed and became the next vessel for the shadow powers of a banished lord. She met macaque afterwards and became his student in order to keep her powers in control. Now at 14 (S4) she has managed to do so and is somewhat able to keep them at bay

Her main weapon is the shadow staff, similar to Macaque's. And she also wields the whip and is a master at it.

Summaries:

Based off this au, Sun Wukong is sealed inside a topaz monkey statue by the Camel Ridge Trio before they attempted to conquer Heaven. Their attempt fails and Wukong is left trapped in the statue for hundreds of years, until it falls in the hands of Qi Xiaotian.

Red Son and Iron Fan find themselves going to war. DBK and Qi Xiaotian are in the middle. Hinted at smut with Spicynoodles and Ironbull.

After Mirabel moves out of Casita, Abuela realizes that Mirabel is the next candleholder and tries to get her to move back in. Mirabel just wants one thing: an apology.

Qi Xiaotian gets a cheerleader outfit from Sun Wukong. This becomes a problem for Long Xiaojiao and Red Son.

Spicynoodles adopt a cat when they move in together. A few months later the cat refuses to leave Xiaotian alone.

AU where the Camel Ridge Trio were never sealed away, the trio end up playing as uncle figures for Red while DBK is sealed. Red ends up following Azure's lead when he falls for a pretty delivery boy.

AU where Qi Xiaotian and Tang move into an old castle to renovate it. The father son duo soon find it's haunted by three ghosts: one by a young prince Red while the other is haunted by sworn brothers Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie.

MK is visiting Pigsy’s grandmother out in the country, unaware of the local demon lord and dragon lord fighting in the background over who gets to court him.

All caught up! Chapter 29 was quite the reaction rollercoaster!

Very interesting to find a princess kidnapped by a demon. I wonder how many we will see! Also, was she given a name that ends with "shame" at birth/100 days/1 year? How sad for a child!

I like the passport stamping scene, and how Tripitaka uses his courtly manners to impress everyone. I think it's the first scene of Red Cliff, where Cao Cao tricks the Han emperor into ceding power to him, where all the officials are kneeling and shouting "lord!" and crawling around. That's always what I picture with scenes like this. Plus, Zhang Fengyi's voice and delivery as Cao Cao is instantly iconic, so I can't put it out of my mind.

I really liked the scene where the king goes from saying "psh, how ugly can they be? You rude monk!" to practically pooping his pants when Wuneng and Wujing show up. Those two really felt like shitty teens here, which I quite enjoyed.

The fight at the end of the chapter, however... Did Bajie really have to go poop? In the middle of a fight? That's new.

Lots to think about, like "when is Wukong coming back" and "will Guanyin make Wukong go back?"

You can say that the princess was fated from birth, that's why naming your baby is so important in Chinese culture. So I wonder why that name...

I was actually a bit shocked that after describing his disciples, the king and the court acted like that . If Tripitaka said they are so ugly that they can't enter the court, it doesn't mean normal ugly, duh.

Are we surprised about anything Bajie does? He just listens to his stomach and his [redacted]. It was funny but poor Wujing :(

well shit i just got here so lemme think about pigsy feeding wukong for one thing, lord knows that boy probably don't know what a proper meal is, and pigsy's used to it, pigsy's used to feeding others. he wants others to be fed. and goddammit, if he's gotta start delivering meals to wukong's temple near the city personally to make sure that happens, he will.

this is... difficult and none of the questions really encompass what i'd like to say. it's not a bad ship and i'm totally down for it strictly from a villainous sapphic couple perspective but. bai he's body as LBD's host has to exit the picture. on top of that, LBD never had a sincere connection with the spider queen that wasn't pure manipulation and puppeteering. she never meant anything to LBD other than that.

as for them being bad bitches together? yes.

LMK assorted Spider Gang LMK headcanons/theories

sequel to this post. Focusing on the Spider Gang cus I just finished reading that section of Journey to the West.

Spider Queen:

Spider Queen was one of seven sisters... seven sisters who fell to Monkey King's staff after trying to capture Tripitaka/Tang Sanzang for their master; Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord/Centipede Demon. Spider Queen was the only survivor of the fight besides the sisters' adoptive sons. She has spent the last countless years trying to rebuild the family and home she once had, accidentally becoming a "queen" of spider demon-kind in the process.

The Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord's current status is unknown. Spider Queen doesn't care. Her former "brother" refused to give up the Tang monk in exchange for the safety of his sisters. She views this as the ultimate betrayal from someone she had considered her mentor/older brother. She did steal his alchemy supplies though, hence her cauldron.

Spider Queen actually lost her legs in her and Wukong's original fight - hence why she uses a mechanical lower body. Modern mobility aids yall.

Spider Queen also has beef (accidental Pun) with Zhu Bajie for harassing her and her sisters when they were bathing. Homeboy really went so creepy that they predatory spider demons didn't even wanna eat him. Even Pigsy's brief lapse of braincells when he first met Spider Queen was more polite than what his predecesor did.

Spider Queen's motherly nature extends beyond her clan. It's why LBD deliberately possessed a child to approach her - she knew Spider Queen would think twice about hurting "just a little girl". Spider Queen even gets a little protective over MK once she starts talking to him on an equal level.

Syntax:

Syntax was once a scientist who worked at the Weather Station. When the station was damaged by Red Son and MK's fighting in "Bad Weather"; he got scapegoated by the company as it's lead programmer and was fired. This gives him mega resentment towards both the Monkie Kid gang and the DBK family specifically.

He ran into Spider Queen while trying to find work as a freelance programmer. She needed someone to design a delivery system for her venom that didn't require her biting every single victim's neck. Syntax scoffed and went "I could just program a swarm of mini-robots to do it for you. We use similar drones while cloud-seeding at the station." and the rest is history.

Syntax's name is not only a programming reference, but is a ref to a type of spider family called Synotaxidae - related to Huntsmans and Black Widows (family <3). His name in Mandarian is "Liù yǎn zhū"/六眼蛛 meaning "Six-eyed Spider", which could be a glasses joke from the rest of the spider gang (who normally have four eyes) or a reference to a species in the same family - a six-eyed sand spider, known for their reclusive natures, and having the most powerful venom of any spider species. Hilarious if Syntax ever accidentally bit someone and it was a 1-hit KO.

The antidote made by Red Son wouldn't have worked on Syntax. While it did cure those envenomated during New Years, Syntax getting the "first spin" of the refined venom meant that he recieved far higher a survivable dosage/damage from the spider-bot. He had to work out a few more kinks before the New Years parade or else Megaopolis would been filled with dead half-spider people.

Syntax is having a small crisis of humanity. Not as big as the gang expected, but more like "Oh dang. I could've just been a demon this whole time? This rocks!- Hey why do chickens freak me out all of a sudden?" There's lot of spider demon stuff he has no context for - Spider Queen probably has to give him the spider demon version of "The Talk" the first time Syntax drums his legs at someone he likes.

Has/had a very mild rivalry with Macaque, mostly cus the shadow monkey would poke fun at Syntax for being a magic-less former human, and the programmer could toss the criticism right back at him in words Macaque didn't understand. The hostility died down when Macaque got weirdly interested in an RPG Maker game Syntax was playing, and wanted to know how videogames worked. And so the development of the "Macaque VR game" began.

He def chose the name "Syntax" for himself.

Huntsman:

Huntsman is only slightly younger than Spider Queen. He was a fellow spider demon disgusted by what the pilgrims had done to her sisters. And was a little curious at how strong they truly were. Encountered Sha Wujing on the road when the river demon was foraging, and was immediately enamored with his strength. He knows Sandy is pretending to be a reincarnation, he could recognise his Blue from anywhere.

Hates being seen as weak. Will act out if he suspects someome is "going easy" on him. Even with spicy cooking.

Saw some Things in the potion-portal Tang accidentally sent him to in Laozi/Lao Tzu's lab. The "duck" label was a metaphor.

Beyond tracking devices, this spider is tech blind. Has no gotdamn idea Syntax is talking about half the time.

Goliath/Strong Spider:

Is a little older than Huntsman. But no one's really sure how old he is. Not even him.

Was a drifter from another clan before joining Spider Queen. He doesn't like to talk about what happened with his birth clan.

Deliberately trained his body so he could physically protect his friends/clan from harm. A lot of things can squish a spider, and Goliath wants to make sure that never happens again.

Goliath/Strong Spider has no idea how to make or spin a web. It's the folly of his sub-species. He can however, knit you a pretty good wool blanket instead. :3

Since he's based on a spider called a Goliath Bird-Eater; Goliath occasionally just plucks a bird out of the sky and noms on it like Hogsqueal in The Spiderwick Chronicles. If he ever saw Peng, not even the Buddha could stop Goliath from trying to take a bite.

Spindrax (sadly toyline only ;_;):

Has an obnoxiously black-and-pink colour scheme as a foil to Mei's white-and-green aesthetic.

Is Mei's equal rival in everything. Racing, pinball, arcade games, hand-to-hand combat, etc... Spindrax and Mei even go toe-to-toes when it comes to dancing.

Uses a stylized motorcycle helmet while driving, so much so that Mei honestly didn't know what Spindrax's face looked like until after a race/spider gang fight.

Youngest of the whole spider clan. She's barely considered a young-adult by their standards. Gets babied/underestimated sometimes by them and wishes to prove herself.

Would annoy Syntax while he's working by flicking rubber bands at him.

Bonus ideas+:

The original spider clan was once an actual kingdom, but it fell to silk-greedy humans during the mid Tang Dynasty when the empire began enforcing extreme measures to prevent rival nations from getting their hands on easy silk. When a few too many Roman and Greek tradesmen went to the Spider Kingdom instead of following the Silk Road - the kingdom was burnt to the ground. The Seven Sisters were the only surviving members of a very minor branch of the royal family - saved by a centipede schoolmate.

The Spider Sisters in Journey to the West had adoptive children in the form of other bug demons known as; Bee, Hornet, Cockroach, Cantharis/Spanish-Fly/Blister-Beetle, Grasshopper, Maggot/Wax-Fly, and Dragonfly, who came to defend their moms' after Zhu Bajie harassed them. However they were just little kids, so they could barely nip at the pilgrims even as a swarm of insects. Even the tallest of them was said to be "no more than two and a half feet". SWK simply scared them off by making his hair-clones turn into different birds. It's likely that Spider Queen had to care for her orphaned nephews/students in the aftermath of Jttw.

Would be cool if the seven niblings were still around, trying to avenge their moms and aunts. Hilarious if they were somehow more successful than Jin and Yin at villainy - if only a smidge. Then again that means at the end of canon S3 they're left without a family, if LBD doesn't see them as extra mech material that is...

MK: *driving home from a delivery* A voice off to the side: "Hey monkey-head!" MK, stops driving: "???" (MK turns, only to see seven scrappy-looking kids) MK: "Aww. You guys fans of mine?" Kid 1#: "No! We are sons of the Seven Spider Sisters! Sworn enemies of the Monkey King!" MK, tensing up cus arachnophobia: "S-spiders?" Kid 2#: "Yeah! Now you're gonnna get it!" The Kids: *transforms into their true demon forms* MK: *massive sigh of relief* "Oh thank the buddha! You're just regular bug demons. Sorry nothing personal, I just can *not* deal with a swarm of baby spiders right now. You guys get home to Spider Queen before it gets dark ok?" MK: *continues driving home* The Kids, briefly stunned: "HEY! Get back here!" "You're not suppose to run away!" "We're telling mama about this!"

Spider Demons are able to heal/hibernate inside cocoons similar to those seen in the cave system. Huntsman and Goliath were sleeping off the worst of the winter frost when New Year's woke them up. It could also give an explaination to where Spindrax and the seven adopted bug kiddos are - they sleepin'.

JTTW96! Sun Wukong with a Cyber Sleuth s/o

Consider this my practice for any JTTW fics I write in the future. I'll be using the 1996 iteration for this. The Digimon partner for this will be Herissmon mainly because I want to get rid of the sourness that Digimon ReArise left behind on my favorite Digimon. This is merely the build up as a later headcanon will 'tie the knot'.

You don't need to know anything about Digimon. I'll fill in the blanks when it comes up. Cyber Sleuths are basically a detective that take jobs given by Digimon and Humans. This can be read as gender neutral or preferred gender. This is Herissmon! 👇

How you met Sun Wukong could easily be described as a crash landing.

Your latest client needed help finding parts for an experiment of theirs. It didn't sound hard so you and your partner Herissmon took the job.

What you didn't expect was for the both of you to get swept up in a massive storm that came outta nowhere. At least the job been finished before this sudden catastrophe.

Next thing you knew you were falling out of the sky and landed on something fuzzy. In time to look up to at the unamused face of Sun Wukong. Herissmon fell on Zhu Bajie who had kissed the dirt from impact.

This conversation was going to be awkwardly limited cause you knew Journey To The West by heart and anything digital related would go over their heads.

So with help from Herissmon, you made a reliable half lie. That the two of you were adventurers on a simple quest only to get dragged up by a freak storm right after.

Some of Tripitaka's disciples mainly Sha Wujing and Sun Wukong were a bit skeptical but thankfully bought it. Neither of you wanted an unnecessary fight, especially with the Monkey King.

Herrissmon and you were about to leave until Tripitaka offered to join them on their quest. Bless this kind monk very so but all it would do was make Sun Wukong even more suspicious.

Declining the offer, you and your partner left in hopes of finding a place to think. So imagine your damn luck running into the group once again not even three days later.

Apparently the universe or Buddha wanted you together as you guys kept coming across each other on multiple occasions whether it be in the wilderness or a village.

Whenever that happened, you guys would often share information, trade some stuff or have a meal together. Any info given was more of a heads up like proper clothing or supplies needed. Nothing that could practically illuminate the next big challenge on their journey.

This time Tripitaka had gotten kidnapped (again) by a competent yet cocky yaoguai. This one however, could create a barrier invulnerable to every attack. And the only way to shatter it is with a power that is 'otherworldly'.

You know there would be big consequences if Tripitaka got killed but showing your otherworldly nature would put a target on your and your partner's back.

Thankfully Herissmon gave you assurance to make a decision. That they would be with you no matter what. So, the two of you decided to help them.

Getting to the yaoguai's lair wasn't really difficult. Not surprising as they practically gloated enough to have an open door policy.

You all found Tripitaka being lowered to a bubbling vat of stew as the demon lord in question sat in his throne with an audience.

Seeing you and Herissmon had the asshole mocking all of you especially Sun Wukong. About how low he sunken to get help from a lowly human and pitiful yaoguai.

Consider yourself and your partner royally pissed off. The yaoguai didn't gloat much longer when you activated your unique hacking skill: Biomerge.

An ability that allowed you and Herissmon to fuse into a powerful Digimon known as Rasenmon specifically its Fury Mode this time.

Jaws practically dropping when everyone saw the 'lowly human' and 'pitiful yaoguai' merge to an unholy 9 tailed abomination.

Said demon lord pulled up their barrier thinking Rasenmon Fury Mode wouldn't be able to breakthrough. The two of you practically laughed when you tore the barrier apart with your shared claws as if it was wet paper.

You carefully freed Tripitaka from his bindings and looked at all his disciples with an evil grin. "What do you guys say about getting some payback?"

The yaoguai was practically shitting himself from the wicked gleam in the disciples' eyes. Especially the Monkey King's that burned in fiery light.

In short, they were subjected to an all out pummeling from Sha Wujing, Zhu Bajie, Sun Wukong and Rasenmon Fury Mode. Ending the fight with a team attack using Sun Wukong's clones on all of your tails to unleash a vicious Desperate Vortex.

You and your partner let out a proud roar in your shared body before splitting back to your normal selves. The Monkey King practically shouted 'I knew there was something off about you two! Now pay up!'

Those three assholes must've made a bet earlier from how unamused the Tang Monk seemed to be. Herissmon did get him to crack a smile with your personal saying: 'Sometimes humor can help ease one's own tension after disaster'.

Imagine your surprise when you and partner were about to leave, the Monkey King made an offer to join their group. It was usually Tripitaka that kept offering.

Normally you would've turned them down but at this point, you couldn't lie that you gotten attached. For once, you agreed much to the delight of the group and Herissmon.

Things were bound to get crazier from here on out but it wouldn't be so bad. Although did you imagine a relieved look on Sun Wukong's face? Who knows.

The Monkey King would honestly start a betting pool when it comes to shit like this. I've seen a lot of fics and headcanons involving someone from modern times or the 'real world' get sent into a world where it's a considered story there.

I honestly think that shows/games,etc are glimpses of another world written done into works of fiction. That they are 'real' in their own way or reality. Kinda like a Schrodinger's cat in multiverse terms.

Anyway, stories involving this archetype are quite tricky and I've only seen a few done right. Mainly on the appropriate actions to take but the character's presence subtly changing things without any action on their part.

My distaste for Digimon ReArise has been put at the bottom. Read if you want.

Now, my beef with Digimon ReArise. It's a mobile game I used to play for years since it first came out. Everything was well and good until recent updates came in.

Removal of every previous plugin from the Clash Battle store. Plugins are basically equipment to boost your Digimon's stats. New plugins made for specific Digimon having a limited time to be bought before disappearing and will only come back if the Digimon comes back in the Gacha.

The Gacha in question feeling more rigged than usual. When the game started, I always had a good chance of getting the main Digimon for it. Sometimes I came out with nothing and it really didn't bother me.

But lately I began to notice my pools started to feel off. Too many repeats of common Digimon despite the chances for the Featured ones being much higher. Or that there been an increase of players with those Featured Digimon who were always on top of the board in the Battle Park or Tournament mode and a very sharp decrease for those in lower ranks.

Then came the Super Digimon. Digimon with extremely high stats that could decimate even well prepared teams. Considering how harder it was to get any Featured Digimon which are now Supers, I couldn't keep up in Tournaments.

I couldn't get any new Digimon, even if I grinded my heart out for the currency needed in-game. I ain't paying real cash. I bulked up my team as best I could and put the best plugins I could get. And all that hard work being demolished in seconds by these new Super Digimon, even if they were 50 levels lower.

Something that honestly hurts cause unlike Pokemon, you can't cheese out with strategies using low level and untouched Digimon. It made all the hard work I've done now worthless.

So I mentioned how the gacha felt off and there was the last straw. Imagine having your opinion get scoffed at by not just other people but one of the moderators to the Discord itself. Told that once you 'get on their level' that you can come back and talk. How someone spent over 2000 and more in game currency to not get anything?

I played this game for fun ever since the start. But how am I supposed when you can't even make any sort of progress? And to be told by an administrator to 'Get on their level then come back?'

At this point, the game I once played for two years had become a pay to win. I've played JRPGs before, a whole lot and I know when something is a pay to win. I've stopped playing stuff like it. And thus, I left the Discord alongside deleting the game.

It honestly hurts when something you spent so much time and been part of your own childhood gets turned into something like this. When the new Digimon you love become sour. Then have that shoved into your face rudely.
