Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017) When 3 Smurfs and a Smurfette see a secret tunnel leading to another colony, they must travel uncharted lands to warn a new group of Smurf’s about an evil villain trying to capture them all! Smurf’s have always been about, everyone knows them and they remain the cute and fun characters we know and love! (Despite conspiracy’s they’re actually Nazis🤷🏻‍♂️) This 4K release of the movie is a bright, invigorating watch, full of life at every moment! The film itself thrives in its simplicity, which isn’t surprising, because one thing you have to bear in mind when watching this is the target audience. There aren’t overlapping character and story arcs, or in-depth dialogue etc, this is a film for children, however there’s plenty of fun in there for the whole family. I would be lying if I said I didn’t find myself chuckling throughout! The story was fun and it’s nice to watch something that is fun, full of life and easy to digest. Paired with some good voice acting from Demi Lovatto and co it’s a great combo! Clocking in at 90mins approx, it’s a nice time for film, for me 90mins is the golden ticket. This doesn’t fee long and as I said before it’s very easy to digest, which is good for everyone! There could have been a few more characters involved considering the wide introduction and vast world of the Smurf’s, and id probably have dealt with the villain a bit different, giving it a bit of a better ending. Similar to Trolls and other movies of this irk, there’s a massive soundtrack of upbeat and catchy tunes to jam along with, including Alesso’s: Heroes which had me instantly sitting upright going ‘tuneeeeeee!’ Overall, Smurf’s is exactly what you’d think it would be. A quick fun injection of loveable characters on a journey!
