Carlisle is not for Alphard

Alphard is an extremely cynical person who admires Tom Riddle for his strength and infallibility. Tom is the most extraordinary person in the room at any given time, and always true to himself. As far as Alphard is concerned Tom is a demigod among men, the sort of natural force who doesn't live by the same rules the rest of us do and wanting him to change is the last thing on Alphard's mind.

Would he admit this to Tom's face, never, Tom has enough of an ego. Alphard will call him a lunatic and ridiculous, and mean every syllable. Did he fall in love with a violent lunatic with impure blood who was beating up not just Alphard, but his closest relatives and all his friends in school, also yes.

It's the whole package of Tom that makes him appeal to Alphard, from the physical beauty to the uncompromising personality, to the way he can't ever be fully predicted, and the tragically romantic backstory. Being in love with him is just a point of fact for Alphard at this point.

Even becoming Lord Voldemort is something Tom never claims is anything but what it is, and while Alphard is horrified and heartbroken Tom remains the person he always was. Readers of The Man Who Would Be King will remember Alphard lasted one week before being married to Tom again.

Carlisle, by contrast, while unbelievably beautiful and just as extraordinary, is a man who has made self-delusion a cornerstone of his life. He loves his family and wants them to care about human life as much as he does, so he'll give them little nudges like going to their victims' funerals or have family votes where thankfully the majority voted against killing an innocent girl, and not think about what it says about Edward that he killed people for pleasure for four years because- well, he came back.

And he walks around talking about how great, how humane, how wonderful his family and their way of life is. While living among humans, thereby risking the deaths of innocents for no reason other than "it's our lifestyle!" (and the even worse, underlying reason of "if they don't live with humans they might forget humans aren't food...")

Loss of control isn't even a hypothetical, this happens to the Cullens semi-frequently.

Alphard would think he's a fool and a killer by proxy, and despise and pity him. To him, Carlisle is easily worse than Voldemort.

Alphard is not for Carlisle

The trouble with Alphard is that he is what Caius would be if Caius was worse. He's mean, he's judgmental, and he's cynical, all qualities Caius shares only Alphard is somehow worse. He's just so mean.

More troubling yet, he is very principled and harsh on himself but lives cease to matter to him where his loved ones are concerned. Had Aro said "Here is my Horcrux, it's a fifteen-year-old Aro who must be fed a soul to gain a body" Carlisle would have pressured him to either repair his soul, and left when Aro didn't do so. Alphard, by contrast, "Ope, guess we're finding him a soul then."

Alphard is a very ruthless person, he may be principled but should his line of reasoning lead him to murder being the solution to a problem a loved one is having then murder it is.

Alphard also reacts to Tom becoming Voldemort much the same way he would infidelity, as it's not really the suffering Tom inflicted that bothers him but the betrayal of his own character as Alphard knew it (and he'd have had a much harder time getting past actual infidelity. That would have been a crisis). His faith is restored because he sees enough of the goodness he fell in love with. His niece Bellatrix is much the same, of sure she's done bad things, Alphard is intellectually aware of this fact. It's getting hard to deny that she probably has tortured and killed people, and delights in it. Well, have you considered the fact that she's precious and perfect?

Andromeda's marriage to Ted is on par with Tom and Bellatrix's life choices in that Alphard's not thrilled with it, but he can look past it because he loves her that much.

To Carlisle this man is genuinely insane and terrifying. Carlisle can move past his friends killing to live because it's what they've always known and he sees the good in them in spite of that. Alphard would frighten him, there is plenty good in him but Carlisle would correctly put together that the man is one line of reasoning away from killing anybody at all.

Carlisle stays as far out of his way as he can, and warns others to keep their distance from this one.

Can these two even be in a room together?

I think if they meet in the library and only talk about books, they'll have a grand time. Just don't let them talk about anything personal, at all.

Tom (Tom & Jerry) x Bright Eyes (Pound Puppies Season 1): I like to headcanon that Tom and Bright Eyes are childhood friends to lovers. I explain it more in this post here.

I have two minds to answer this, because part of me is going 'WE GOT EM!!! WE GOT EM!!' While the other part of me is like 'oh god how do I tell them. Who’s going to tell them.' The easiest way I can explain: Tom, Ben, and Harry are not in a minecraft series together, and the lore that I have for them is not based in any actual series. HOWEVER. DON’T LET THE TRAGIC TRUTH MAKE YOU CLICK AWAY /silly so I can explain properly LMAO

Here’s a TLDR for anyone who likes these guys and is a lil interested in them!!

Most of the lore for these three is based on an amalgamation of inside jokes, non-minecraft character trends, and general yogs minecraft world lore!

Tom was an editor (now has a YouTube channel, AngoryTom) and did behind-the-scenes minecraft prep for the Yogscast for so long that he was never really interested in any actual "main channel" series besides [Dig Site - 10 episodes] with Simon, Lewis, and Ben, and [Skyblock - 2 episodes] with Ben! Although he’s also played several npcs throughout various main channel series since he was helping run the show lol. My take on his character is that he’s a former yoglabs employee due to [YOGLABS CLASSIFIED INFORMATION] and now lives his laziest life ever in an undisclosed remote location. He’s also the demigod of death but he’ll never tell

Ben started doing main series mc content a few years ago, but hasn’t done anything mc with Tom and Harry until recently (see below)! His character is a Shark Hybrid due to [YOGLABS CLASSIFIED INFORMATION] who now lives with Tom at the same undisclosed remote location.

Harry has been an insane speedrunning minecraft legend for ages, but was never in any main series content bc he’s actually a graphic designer for the yogs. But he was part of Iskall’s twitch vault hunter event back in November, and he’s now in the [Vault Hunter Series - Ongoing] with Ben and Duncan on YouTube! <3 so there’s plenty of mc content of Harry and Ben, but not so much Tom. c!Harry has lived remote for as long as he can remember, locked in Hardcore, until…?

But again, I base their backstories on a bunch of kinda loosely connected lore dots that are half based on jokes <3

BEN AND TOM

I’ve been in love with Ben and Tom as a duo forever, since the TTT (modded Trouble in Terrorist Town) days, where Ben’s player model was Left Shark, and Tom’s model was Emperor Palpatine (yes from Star Wars. I can’t stand them). But Ben and Tom have been yogs editors and Behind The Scenes guys forever, so it wasn’t until more recently that they became known personalities in the main yogscast circle (4-5 years is pretty recent in the 10+ years of yogs content timeline LMAO).

Through Warhammer streams and behind the scenes stuff, I kinda fell in love with their chemistry and idiocy, and they worked so well with the “main cast” that I just had to put them in the yogs minecraft universe, somewhere. Turns out, Tom had actually done a majority of the "behind the scenes" work for the Yoglabs series (he built a majority of the main building, did mod research and testing, was present during recordings to make sure things went well, stuff like that) so it only made sense to have his character be the Right Hand Man/ Behind The Scenes Assistant to Xephos (Lewis), the Morally Questionable Head of Yoglabs.

For anyone who’s unfamiliar with Yoglabs, it’s one of the yogs’ more famous series featuring Simon (Honeydew) and Lewis (Xephos) where they tested mods! more info can be found here!

c!Tom also ended up as a Lumian (the fanon alien space species for the yogs fandom, vaguely inspired by Star Trek Vulcans) because of a one-off joke where one of the Yogs artists drew him as a star trek commander, and I really didn’t need any further reason to make him a weird little guy LDKFJG

As far as the “demigod of death” thing goes, it felt right to give him a lore thing that vaguely coordinated with the whole “Emporer Palpatine” vibe, since that’s kinda the mc skin he’s used most recently. There’s another reason there that I don’t think I’ve properly explained, so I’ll leave the rest of that be for now ;]

Ben, on the other hand, plays a shark character in pretty much every video game he ever participates in, so shark hybrid was a pretty obvious way to go. And of course, since the duo had to be in the same place… involving Ben’s shark Hybrid-ness with yoglabs experimentation made good sense and good angst. What can I say :]

HARRY

Harry is kinda known as the yogscast’s token memelord? But in the ironic way. He somehow makes it genuinely hilarious idk man. His humor is very dry, witty, and sarcastic, but he’s a sweetheart and kind of a god at minecraft. I’ve been arguing since day one that this man should be in mcc but we won’t go there

There aren't many solo harry compilations, so here's a link to a Harry and Ben compilation hehe

Regarding his minecraft lore, pretty much all of it is based around the idea that he’s a god at speedrunning and hardcore Minecraft. A common consensus in yogscast minecraft lore is that respawning is actually a Yoglabs-based mechanic tied to clones and clone making. I thought it would be interesting if Harry could be tied to a hardcore element in the yogs lore purely by having Somehow slid under yoglabs’ radar. And since he was never in any main channel (aka modded) series, i usually associate him with Vanilla mechanics, and since i also view mods as a Yoglabs-related lore element, it made sense! So basically— no clones, no respawns, no mods!

except that he’s in a main channel series now. So I’ll need to find a new lore reason around that DTBJDFGHK

And his design, well… this man’s skin is straight up Mr Mime, and there’s only so much I can do with that /silly But he’s a HUGE Pokémon fan! He’s played a couple of Disaster Nuzlockes with Lydia from the yogs a year or so ago, if that’s something you’re interested in! Was a huge comfort series for me for the longest time and rly good background noise, theyre soooo good at Pokémon I promise <3

Harry does more twitch stuff (hrry on twitch) than youtube stuff, so twitch is the best place to check him out if you're interested in his solo content!

Last thing I'll say about him is that he designed and ran an original minecraft minigame called "Capture the Wool" and he and Martyn are the hosts for a few episodes i think! i dont think there's any way to explain how entertaining it is to listen to him announce the chaos of yogs members trying to play competitive minecraft LOL

Um, so. TLDR…2, These guys are basically my ocs and now I get Actual minecraft content from them which is crazy. I love them as content creators and cool guys so so much though, so! Definitely recommend listening to these idiots (affectionate) babble and ramble to each other, mc or not <3

After binge-watching and listening to every bit of media relating to Harry Potter he can find, Tom has made a few observations:

Harry Potter’s musical style shows a distinct influence from Tom’s music. This isn’t surprising, given how much of a formative influence Potter has said Tom was for him, but it’s one thing to have the boy say it. It’s another entirely to hear how his work has indelibly marked another musician;

The boy’s band, Silverish, is quite good. They’re gaining national recognition and airplay currently, and their social media presence has helped them establish a strong fanbase. Their star is in ascension in a crowded market niche; and, on a more personal note,

Potter is an attractive and talented person who speaks as though Tom is some kind of demigod. He’s exactly Tom’s type.

 Their camping trip had been going well so far.  Maddie had her doubts at first.  Two of her kids spent most of their lives as in-voluntary campers.  She hadn’t been sure they wouldn’t take to it as a recreational activity.  Apparently she didn’t need to worry, because, honestly?  Knuckles was like a pig in mud out here.  He'd actually seemed disappointed they had tents and wouldn’t be sleeping in self-dug burrows.  And while Sonic had obviously been very bored on their hike, campfire chilli dogs (more magical than regular chilli dogs!) and s’mores were right up his alley.

 That said, Knuckles was less than impressed with scary stories around the campfire.  “You mean they aren’t true?  How can they be scary if they aren’t true?”

 “Ugh,” Sonic rolled his eyes as he flicked off the flashlight he’d been holding under his chin during his rendition of the man with the hook hand.  “You’re no fun.”

 “Scary things are not fun.”

 “Agree to disagree, big guy.”

 “Maybe you can tell the next one?”  Tails piped up.  “Sonic’s been telling all the famous scary stories from here, but are there any scary echidna stories?”

 Knuckles frowned.  “There are… but they are not made up.”

 Sonic rolled his eyes again.  “Bet they’re not even that scary.”

 “They are!  I have one… it is truly horrific.” Knuckles glared.

 Sonic zipped over, handed Knuckles the flashlight, then zipped back to sit between her and Tom.  “Prove it, tough guy!”

 Knuckles glowered, but was always up for a challenge.  He stood up on the bench and carefully switched on the flashlight, holding it under his chin like Sonic had.  Maddie probably should have told him this wasn’t required for scary story telling, but it was kind of adorable and she didn’t want to interrupt.

 Knuckles cleared his voice and took a moment to gather his thoughts before he took a deep breath and began.  “There once was a… very scary witch.”

 Sonic burst into giggles.  “Oh, I can tell this is gonna be an excellent scary story already!”

 Knuckles scowled at him, but pressed on: “He called himself a doctor… But I very much doubt he has received a doctorate and he was not a healer by the standards of our people.”

 “Impersonating a doctor?  Nothing could be more frightening,” Sonic chimed in.

 Tom nudged him.  “Hey, be nice and listen.”

 “My people had an innate connection with chaos energy,” Knuckles boasted. “And we could use it to manipulate the chaos energy in plants.  But a single mistake can cause death or worse, thus only the high priestesses were allowed to manipulate chaos energy in an animal or person.  The witch broke this rule when he…”  Knuckles paused and something pinged Maddie’s Mom-Radar.  “He broke the rule.

 He… was obsessed with this one echidna legend… Which could be a scary story all on its own.  His ambition was to revive an ancient echidna demigod who dwells, scattered in the Chaos Force.  He thought one with power such as mine could be used as a vessel for this god.  He manipulated my great-uncle–”

 “Great-uncle?”  Sonic sat up.  “Wait, is this like… one of those ‘it happened to my uncle’ almost  true stories?”

 “This is a completely true story,” Knuckles scowled.  “It happened to my great-uncle and to my great-aunt and to me! For I am in this story as well.”

 “Well, that makes you questioning this guy’s doctorate status hilarious actually.”

 “This story is not hilarious,” Knuckles said very seriously.  “It is a sobering reminder of what happens when you manipulate chaos energies in living beings and meddle in forces you do not fully comprehend!”

 “Okay, let’s settle!”  Maddie cut in.  “Sonic: no more interruptions.  Knuckles: go ahead, honey.”  This story was already making her feel uneasy, but Knuckles wasn’t exactly a ‘sharer’ and she wanted to hear what he had to say.

 Knuckles’ scowl deepened and she thought for a minute that he might refuse to continue.  Apparently the urge to prove to Sonic that his story really was scary was too great.

 “He manipulated my great-uncle into helping him.  I was only just at walking age and it was easy for my great-uncle to lure me from my parents and bring me to the witch-doctor.”  The Mom-Radar was pinging again.  “Of course, I was too young to serve as a vessel for a god.  My tribe believed their plan was to infuse my great-uncle with my power so he might be the vessel.”

 “Why couldn’t this fake doctor use himself?  Oops!”  Sonic clapped a hand over his mouth and looked apologetically up at Maddie.

 Knuckles’ scowl deepened and it took a moment for him to continue:  “He… did try previously.  Using me.”  There it was.  Red flag located.  “He attempted to siphon power from me–”

 “Holy crap?!  Did it… hurt?”  Sonic asked.  Maddie touched his shoulder, either to quiet his interruptions or calm his concern, she wasn’t sure which.

 Knuckles glared at him before he spoke at length.  “It was agony.  Now shut up.”  He continued, oblivious or uncaring to how this admission affected the rest of them.

 “Chaos energy does strange things in those who are not meant to have it.  He gained a sort of chaos power but… it was wrong.  Certainly not something he could draw a god from.  It also left him physically and mentally altered.  Also he was banished.  Which is why he needed my great-uncle, Dimitri, to sneak me out of the village for his second attempt.”

 This story was already horrifying, but not for the reasons Knuckles seemed to think.

 “Of course, it all went wrong,” Knuckles continued, his gaze falling on the campfire.  “The chaos energy put in my great-uncle recoiled.  His body was destroyed until the only thing left was his head.  Unfortunately, it had been so infused with chaos energy that he survived his dismemberment.”

 Tails pressed against her.

 “My people were already searching for me,” Knuckles carried on. “They heard Dimitri’s screams and followed them.  The witch fled before they arrived, and when they did, they were so repulsed by what had become of my great-uncle, they immediately sought to end his suffering by driving an ax through his skull.”  She put her arm around Tails.

 “Unfortunately the head healed from this wound.  At this point, I was taken away.  I did not witness the rest of it, but I’m told they attempted numerous methods to end his life.  Even to the hardened warriors it was so horrific that eventually the chief and high priestess sent them away.  They built a fire and threw his head in the flames.”

 Their campfire flickered ominously.

 “When nothing was left but ash, they dug a hole to bury the remains.  But as the high priestess began to give final rights they realized the ashes were knitting themselves back together.”

 Sonic leaned against her just as Tails pressed even closer.

 “Unable to think of anything else, they waited until his head had reformed enough to speak and asked what he wanted them to do.  He first asked for me, thinking a little more of my power might restore him.”  Maddie’s breath caught.  “They refused.”  She breathed again.  “He next asked for his family.  He asked for their care.”

 Something in his voice changed, lightened, as he explained: “Sometimes in my tribe, a warrior would be injured, or a child might be born in such a way that they couldn’t quite care for themselves.  In these cases their family would care for them, with the rest of the tribe supporting.  This is what he asked for.

 “The chief returned to the village and asked my great-aunt and grandmother if they would take up his care.  My grandmother refused.  My parents would not have him anywhere near me and she agreed.  If he were in her home, then I would not be allowed there and this was unacceptable to her.  The task fell to my great-aunt and her family.

 “The chief took her out to where the high priestess guarded Dimitri's head.  My great-aunt wrapped him in a blanket and carried him home.  But when they reached the center of the village she collapsed to the ground.  Dimitri had siphoned the chaos energy from her, killing her.”

 Maddie gasped, and she wasn’t the only one.

 “He asked for me again.  He was certain my energy would be enough to restore him.  One of her children tried to pull my great-aunt’s body away and nearly collapsed doing so.  It took many attempts to retrieve her.  No one could get close to him without becoming weak.  He was drawing in chaos energy like a leech.  Still he cried out for me.”

 Maddie didn’t know when she and Tom had started holding hands until she started squeezing his.

 “The chief used a long branch to push Dimitri’s head into a dry well.  But the echo only made his screams stronger.  When the grass and shrubs around the old well began to shrivel up, the high priestess declared that it was not safe for us to remain anywhere near him.  The tribe packed up and the village emptied by midday.”

 Knuckles shrugged as though the rest of the story was natural, casual.  Routine.  “The warriors barred the entrances.  The priestesses placed seals on the barricades.  My father helped inscribe warnings on the walls, since he spoke the most languages.”  A touch of pride entered his voice at that.  “All the while, Dimitri screamed for them.

 “We moved to the far side of the island.”  Knuckles looked up.   “It was a terrible thing for my people, but they told the story of the Wailing Head Village to the tribe’s children so we would know why it was important not to meddle with the living chaos force… and also that if we should find a barricaded village on our travels, that we should stay far away, even if we hear a cry for help from within.”

 He turned the flashlight off and jumped down from the bench.  “The end.”

 Maddie suppressed a shiver.  There was a long, long silence, finally broken by Sonic:

 “Okay.  You win.  That was horrifying.”

 “It wasn’t really true though, right?  It’s just a made-up scary story, right?”  Tails was practically in Maddie’s lap; he was squeezed so close.

 “I told you it was true,” Knuckles said, somewhat affronted.

 “But you don’t really remember it, yourself right?” Sonic asked.  “Maybe your family made it up?  Or-or-or!”  He backtracked quickly at Knuckles’ outraged expression.  “OR!  They massaged the truth?  I mean it is a good story to convince you not to mess with chaos energy.  Something they probably would’ve had an interest in… what with having a superpowered toddler and all?”

 Knuckles shook his head.  “No.  I do not remember much, but I remember the tribe moving.  The chaos of it all.  And my parents would not let me leave their sides, which was unusual because I had always been allowed to wander in the village.  And I remember…” He tapped his head.  “It is permanently carved here… I remember my great-uncle’s face when he realized his body was gone.  How he screamed at me.”

 Tails shuddered and Knuckles noticed.  “Fear not, Tails.”

 Tails perked up, obviously hopeful that Knuckles would debunk his story.

 “Dimitri is only a head.  Even if he is still alive, he cannot climb out of the well.”

 “Oh,” Tails deflated.  “Okay.  That’s… not that reassuring.”

 “This means that he cannot drain your chaos energy.”

 “Okay…”

 “He is not under your bed or in your closet.”

 “O-kay!”  Maddie cut in.  “That was a great–” super fucked up“--scary story, Knuckles!  Maybe Tom can find his guitar and we can do some campfire songs!”  She looked to her husband in a mild panic.

 “I like that idea!”  Tom jumped up.  “Lemme get it from the truck…”  He started off, leaving the comforting ring of light around their campfire.

 “Y’know, Knux!” Sonic said in his ‘I’m trying to lighten the mood’ voice: “I’m with you.  I don’t think that witch guy had a valid medical license.”

 “No,” Knuckles said.  “I doubt that he does.”

 The present tense scared her more than anything else.

hi !! i'm bea, aka meekspeeks on AO3, and i have only recently managed to properly sink my teeth into House MD, being exam free and all. and, akin to any other Normal, Sane person, i immedietly went onto ao3 to cure my bone rattling depression by immersing myself in fics. any kind, people, any kind. and then i found yours.

you, my dear, dear, sweet friend, are the best writer . ever, dare i say? i have downloaded your books onto my phone for easy reading when i'm... actually, when i'm doing anything. just woke up? ah, yes, the sound of birdsong and an oriley42 fic to sweeten the summer morning. about to go to bed? well, why not get comfy with an oriley42 classic. i highlight them. i seriously, seriously consider getting them tattooed to the inside of my eyelids. all of them. i am not kidding.

in fact, if i was a tech savvy bastard, which i am not (sometimes i Glance, i Peek, i even bloody Breathe in the direction of my ipad, and it restarts. same goes for my phone. and my computer), i would have made an entire new collection on my ao3 account, simply yet perfectly dubbed "oriley42: The Saga", and thus announced to the entirety of the internet my undying love for you, of which there is A LOT. you are amazing and sometimes i wonder if you're even real and not some kind of... demigod?

i like to think apollo's one of those ppl who like to turn their fanfics into actual physical books so when artemis copied them and they got sent to the pjo verse, these books are just falling down from the sky or whatever. maybe hermes got bonked on the head by one of them and that's how olympus found out. some landed in camp half blood so the demigods would know too. then they'd land in the sea and poseidon is the last to find out 😭

BB!Star Flower isn't his cute little mate who provides him with a bunch of reward-kittens. She's a Priestess of One Eye, a demigod in her own right, and she uses him as a supernatural blood sacrifice by bleeding Skystar out 8 times.

Moth Flight's Vision is now Moth Flight's Vow, and Skystar's role is utterly changed in it. There's 0 need to create another baby to violently kill to serve Skystar's arc in BB; I'm honestly sickened that these fucking writers even considered the idea

CW blood and BODY HORROR. My partner is a HORROR ARTIST. There's HORROR and it's BODIED.

We were trying to figure out a good balance between cat and lion, plus how we were going to approach his missing eye. This is from the "scene" where One Eye eats Tom

We really liked this scar shape for his missing eye until we realized it looked kinda like an Xbox... but, anyway, we started really leaning into the body horror angle of this THING breaking apart the body, rearranging it into the shape of a cave lion, like One Eye is ripping its vessel to shreds and rearranging it to fit his needs

So we started playing with the idea that when it's doing something like this, assuming a "higher form," its "real" eye pushes through the empty socket. Partner pitched the idea of the eye looking like that of an eagle, we played with a couple bird designs

We toyed with some bird-heavy designs for a bit. I actually really like the weird bird/feline hybrid thing I made on the right there, I'm thinking about turning it into another type of mythical creature, or saving it for some other project

The first one's not super clear, but I pitched the idea of the lip "peeling" back like a gelada to reveal skull. We ended up moving away from it

We wanted to make it obvious, just by looking at this dude, that there's something... taxidermic about him. Like he shouldn't be alive, and something deeply unnatural is at play here. The demon for whom death is a dinnerbell.

This was the last one we passed between us before we ended up writing some COOL stuff for Sun Shadow, and chased the joy of discovery down that path. We really like the 'sunken' look in this one's sockets-- and I really like the idea of the scar on that side connecting his facial stripes like a stitch.

Valar

Maiar

where would you place marika and her offsprings? would she be an eru esque figure and her children valar? or does she feel more valar esque and her kids maiar? i also want to take into account the empyreans seeing as they have the potential to become gods. to add to this what about elden lords? i feel like they'd probably just be maiar. (damn the way i forgot about the outer gods too...) really want to read your thoughts on this ;)

I've been stewing on this one for a while. Here's what I came up with.

Eru - He's a capital G "God" in the Judeo-Christian sense, or something very close to it. He may or may not be all-powerful, but he seems to be all-knowing (including regarding future events), and he set down the laws by which the world governs.

I'm not entirely sure that Elden Ring has an equivalent figure. If the Outer Gods are all more or less equal and vying with each other for dominance, then I'd say none of them rise to the level of Eru. However, there's an interpretation where the Greater Will is a step above the other Outer Gods. Under this system the Greater Will is represented by the Elden Ring, which acts as a sort of physical representation of the laws of nature. Other Outer Gods may place their Empyrean on the throne, but the Greater Will ultimately runs the entire system.

This version of the Greater Will might be comparable to Eru, although it might still fall short -- Eru has personhood and free will, while the Greater Will might just be an unthinking force of nature.

The Valar - The Valar are much more finite and humanized than Eru. While Eru would be comparable to the Abrahamic God in terms of power level, the Valar more closely resemble the ancient Greek or Norse pantheons.

I'd put the Outer Gods here. They lack the overarching power of a top God, but they govern forces of nature (blood, decay, fire) as well as abstract concepts (death, order). They are more than human, but less than truly divine. Some of them seem very cunning and very involved in the manipulation of mortals (the Formless Mother), and they can be killed by mortals, though only with great effort (the Elden Beast, the Fell God).

The Maiar - The Maiar span a broad range in terms of power level. On the one hand you have Maia like Huan, essentially a really cool dog. On the other hand you have Ungoliant, a Lovecraftian horror capable of soloing a Valar. In the middle you have an array of beings with superhuman powers but who very much keep at least one foot in the mortal realm. See Melian, Sauron, Tom Bombadil (fight me), etc.

I'd put Marika and most of her children in this camp, along with most of the extended family. Marika might be comparable to a Second Age Sauron, while Rennala or Miquella might be on par with Melian. Godfrey might be on par with one of the supersized creature Maiar, such as Huan, Shelob, or Carcharoth (Maliketh might also fit into this category). Out of all of them, I'd say Radahn, with his massive size and power over the stars, would be the closest to breaking out into the Valar category. However, I wouldn't put his power level higher than Ungoliant's -- as demonstrated by her defeat of Melkor, there is some overlap between the Valar and Maiar categories in terms of raw power.

Some of the demigods might not even qualify as Maiar. For instance, outside of her Goddess of Rot form, Malenia doesn't appear to have any special abilities beyond being taller than average and really, really good with a sword. In terms of power level I'd put her even with Fingolfin, which is nothing to sneeze at.
