Something old, something new... Something borrowed, something blue...

These are their main weapons, that will have upgraded designs later. I also refined and defined some details. If you look closely, Spamton has the NEO wing tips as studs on the epaulettes (his shoulders) of his jacket, and I made his greaves/sabatons look like actual thimbles - from my second post of his design. It goes with the theme of his puppet strings being similar to threads, and he's like a doll - dolls can have threads. Puppet Fighter AU

Rosas' weapon is a bow and arrow, transformed from the Freeze Ring. Spamton's Thorn Ring goes through the same transformation as the Rose Scarf. Asul uses a serving dish that they display samples on as a shield, engraved with the symbol on Spamton's back of his leather jacket - but I changed them to stars. The samples are thrown like darts. I already posted Kahel (Jack instead, like Jackfruit, and his face looks like a Jack-o'-lantern) using the mannequin like a hammer or club. The mannequin's outfit in this pic - is just what if dressing up the mannequin would give it immunity or a stat boost or something. The spikes and chains give it extra damage output, and also GOTH. Dilaw - now named Flan - wields a selfie stick with their smartphone, that doubles as a taser. Together, it's a telescoping stun baton. Flan records all the fights they're in, so they and everyone can watch after. And learning from Ralsei to wield the Puppet Scarf (Spamton's broken strings from the NEO battle) by following how he uses magic to control his pink scarf - calling it "Scarf Arts" trademarked - Spamton brandishes his strings like whips that slice and grapple objects and his enemies. Also Spamton's whole body is a weapon too, a sharp spinning top, throwing himself around as a self-propelled flail.

Been awhile to get back on things. Just some symbols and colors to convey themes and aesthetics. From 80's/90s/2000's culture (Memphis Design, Global Village Coffeehouse, Y2K, Frutiger Aero, Whimsigoth). And whatever else. Not all of them is conveyed in this one picture. I'll do more to explore that. I remember I haven't shown a finished pic of my main Lightner OC Heather yet. Soon - near soon.

Here's Heather - with the main gang, the ones on the frontlines. Against a corrupt leader of an MLM cult, that resides from an underground desert resort city. More on this later. She has a chain belt, holding keychains of the Addisons. They're called Poppets. The word "Poppet" is an older spelling of "Puppet". Poppets are used for magic, while Puppets are used for entertainment. In another separate post, I'll explain more about Poppets and Heather's weapon.

Heather wears a hairnet called a Snood or a Caul - they were popular during the Medieval times and Victorian era. The green ribbons are from the Big Shot Bow Tie/Frayed Bow Tie that Spamton sells to her, when they meet for the first time. I took inspiration from Kris', Susie's, and Noelle's Dark World outfits. The silver-like blue of her coat and boots is reminiscent of Kris' knight armor. The jagged/fishnet dress is like Susie's long black vest. As for Noelle - with the coat again - Noelle's dress and ice powers, wanted me to give Heather an ethereal but modern look. That's why it looks clear.

Heather's outfit reflects all of their personalities together as her's - doesn't talk much, can be shy, but she has a temper and can be outspoken when pushed too far.

Hanging outside at a different cafe, where the air is starting to get less warmer. I'll consider this an early Halloween-festive draw. And being Puppet Fighter AU related, it's another one of my concepts. Poor Asul is being sucked dry of their energy from a parasitic soul. I like how leaving it raw sometimes, conveys my spontaneous creativity under a short period.

An Addison becomes exhausted and emaciated, being way more thin than they should be attractively. A quivering husk of themselves. Veins or roots grow from the soul, overtaking the Addison's whole body. The soul is now visceral, pumping as such like an actual organic heart. Under a parasitic soul's whims, an Addison is turned into a puppet zombie. Despite how weak they look physically, as long as the soul has a hold of them, whatever energy taken - will be nourished back into their bodies as needed. Also with an Addison having less weight, they move very quickly, thus making their attacks even swifter.

Pinocchio had a talking cricket that acted as their "conscience".

So with the souls, when my human Lightner OC's bond with Spamton and the Addisons is deep enough - the heart-shaped souls transform into Psykey.

Puppet Fighter AU

Psyche in Greek means "soul" and "butterfly". And in the Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche - there is a princess named Psyche. To prove she's worthy of Cupid's love, she goes through trials, and after - becomes an immortal goddess of the soul, and also gains butterfly wings. In this sense, Psykey represents the relationship of my OC to Spamton and the Addisons, growing stronger from going through trials of battles and understanding each other better. Instead of just being heart-shaped souls that act as infinite power sources, to be controlled or possessed with - they become a conscious, independent being to be respected and protected.

I thought of their name being spelled Psykey - as in Psyche + Keygen, because Spamton changes colors when you hover over the KEYGEN option in his shop menu. It's like if he said Psykey's name like

"P-[Sigh] [KEYGEN]?"

Psykey has different personalities and voices - depending on which color soul they are. And they speak telepathically to whoever they're connected with.

Not Delta Warriors of prophecy...

but Delta Rogues... of their own story...

A Human Lightner girl... a Puppet, and his ex-friends/coworkers...

try to steal the narrative... for their own gain...

Sentient Programs gone rogue... against their own programming... and the program that controls them like puppets... that is...

DELTARUNE.

A logo and the title for my main story, a part of my Deltarune AU the "Puppet Fighter AU".

The "delta" is similar to the original [deltarune] logo. Lowercase but slanted and sleek, like a modern Y2K font. And the purple heart represents Heather's soul, she's the main character of this AU story. Then the "Rogues" part has the "R" & "S" capitalized, and it's made to look like a shiny ribbon or scarf, twisting itself. This represents Spamton, and his Puppet Scarf. Also, I was inspired by the official Japanese logos of the Sailor Moon anime. The (S) is shaped into a dollar sign ($), suggesting the nature of Spamton and the Addisons, including capitalism as a core subject in the story.

The logo as a whole, I'm expressing Heather and Spamton's influence on the narrative, that they create alongside with the Addisons - in Deltarune's universe.

The Y2K "delta" side - is the focus on the internet, computer, AI, robot themes/symbolism of Spamton and the Addisons, and their function as Darkners. While the magical girl looking "Rogues" side - is the focus on the fantasy, emotional, and aesthetic themes/symbolism of Heather, Spamton, and the Addisons' relationships - plus the essence of what the Dark Worlds are. I think that's the best I can describe it.

I think I put too many shines on the health meter.

So I'm showing Orange "Kahel" Addison, to give an example of the Addisons' weapons and signature elemental attacks. As well as their designated souls.

Puppet Fighter AU

My OC, who I'll post her design later - bestows each Addison and Spamton, a soul she believes will fit them. The soul acts as an extra life. Darkners are soulless - only brought to life by Dark Fountains.

When the soul breaks, the Addisons - including Spamton - don't die immediately like Lightner Humans and Monsters do. They still have their own separate health from the soul - being their soulless Darkner bodies. The health meter is just a way of visualizing the idea of how the soul is utilized - not making a video game mechanic or UI.

Kahel has the soul of Integrity, because his dialogue after the NEO fight, questions Spamton's integrity of where he got his success from. Kahel kept to his own business - than in any of Spamton's. He keeps his integrity to his job and work ethic.

I think of Kahel as the nice, strong guy - with a passionate spark. He wields the mannequin like a hammer, swinging and striking with. All the Addisons have items they sell and use for battle. With the power of the Integrity Soul, he can measure how much gravity to jump and drop - to create massive damage on his enemies.

I'll think up of more stuff about personalities, abilities, and other weapons for Kahel and the others.

I've tried many times getting comfortable with digital art, trying to get an art style down. But this is the first time I feel confident in not just finishing a concept, but also really liking it. The Deltarune symbol on the back of his leather jacket - is my Tumblr banner, and my favorite thing I thought up.

It incorporates the sun, from a blue sky with white clouds he painted - as his shop background. I remember reading that Spamton saw the sky of the Lightner world through the Shadow Crystal, that was inside the NEO body. And the triangles are colors of his NEO form. The two upward pointing triangles are the main colors of his wings, and the downward pointing triangle is the thing on the NEO body's chest. The downward triangle is pink and yellow like his glasses, and it also represents a Darkner in the Deltarune legend - like both Ralsei and Spamton is. And the Puppet Scarf is spread out like wings, that completes the symbol separately.

So this is an AU (Puppet Fighter?/Scarf Fighter? - maybe) if Spamton had the Puppet Scarf, and used it to fight with. Like this could be when Kris and the gang give it up for a different better weapon or armor from shops, boxes, or the other secret bosses. Or after the events of Deltarune end.

He'll wonder what to do with it, and then think about how Ralsei wields his scarf. Ralsei demonstrates and teaches Spamton how to use the Puppet Scarf on the practice dummy. And Spamton sees that, he can go way farther than Ralsei is willing to do, with his own methods.

I'll make a comic of Ralsei and Spamton soon.

I got frustrated fixing a picture I did over for a few months.

So I made this recently - which only took a day or two for me to do. But even this got me almost mulling it over too, for the reason that I wanted to do something different and easier not to care so much.

I got inspired by @softobytwt 's post of their analysis interpretation of the Addisons.

Puppet Fighter AU

My Spamton EX for my Puppet Fighter AU.

Just wanted to get a design down. I know with all these words, it looks like a mess. His design might change a bit. I'll make a separate, better piece of him. This is the most complicated piece I made yet.

This is what if he possessed an animatronic Griffin from a dead mall. Notice the colors of the original NEO body are inverted here. I think because of the NEO body's influence on Spamton, his data or magic would change the appearance of this Griffin animatronic's body.

Spamton will only get to transform into EX near the end of my story. I thought of him evolving from a humanoid angel as NEO, to a mythical creature as EX was fitting. He's associated with birds, and has the Element 6 Cat element. A Griffin is a guardian of knowledge and treasures. Both half eagle and half lion - king of birds and the air, and king of animals and the land. An angel and a beast - high ideals and base desires.

The animatronic Griffin was a highlight spectacle of this mall. It was informative - acting like a directory for visitors, answering their questions. It entertained people by having a weekly show with elemental effects - like shooting fire, water, emitting electricity, and also used and displayed natural flowers and plants. It was even used as security - observing crowds, giving a screeching roar alarm, and the elemental effects were protective measures too.

Didn't include these extra accessories in the first outfit reference I did for my Puppet Fighter AU.

"Diamond Hands" if no one knows already - is investor/stock slang.

Thimble Guards are what I call them, because they look like thimbles. Thimbles protect your fingers from needles while sewing.

But also, I thought of an attack for Spamton called Needle Kick. I'm keeping true to his design, so he has no feet to wear shoes. The Addisons' and his legs are sharp in a way like needles.

The Thimble Guards act both as Greaves (or Jambeau) and Sabatons - pieces of knight armor that protect the legs and feet.

Gave my Addisons Filipino names of their colors. They're all wearing a similar outfit to Spamton's.

What kind of scenario can I think for them to help out or join in?

This shows one of the ways he can gesture with his scarf. The last gif I did, was I guess how he can pull out his Puppet Scarf as a weapon - brandishing it.
