Darkner's Moonrise Sprites

I made these fake-sprites (and many others like them) SUCH LONG TIME AGO, and I NEVER ACTUALLY POSTED THEM HERE. Sooo embarassing! I use the same programm that Temmi Chang used to create the Undertale sprites (GraphicsGale) and I really really like it! Look at those boyos! I enjoyed doing these sprites a hell lot. My baby blorbos.

♠️ What is the Darkner`s Moonrise AU?

Darkner`s Moonrise is a Deltarune Alternative Universe and a story about sudden union of two dark worlds that are so similar but so different at the same time. This AU does not heavily based in canon of the original game and has a lot of assumptions / headcanons from its authors. This world is beautiful in its own way no matter its origin.

World of Darkners Moonrise is a world where the Darkners defeated the Light and now they are building their free future together. Gentle Moonlight doesnt hide the beauty of darkness, but also gives the stability and faith in the hearts of all darkners that their fate is in their hands.

Some thoughts and theories on Deltarune.

Yeah, I know, a whole bunch of people are probably doing these, but I just had to point a few details with interesting implications, and do a little wild guessing of my own.

IF YOU HAVEN’T PLAYED DELTARUNE YET, THEN DO NOT READ BELOW THE CUT.

1-

The entire point/moral of Undertale was essentially “your choices matter, so make sure you’re making good ones.” Deltarune is taking that message, and putting it on its head. It’s railroading you, saying “you must do this, and you have no choice.” A Genocide run isn’t possible; you can’t gain EXP or kill foes. None of your decisions affect the overall story line; every action just gets you to the same final ending. The map, in turn, is significantly less open to you just wandering around everywhere, with the exception of the Monster Town; this is because you can only fulfill the goals of the plot and you can’t make your own decisions.

To put it short: your choices don’t matter.

Now, this is just the first chapter; this may change (and I fully expect it to; notice how the save is in the name you input, rather than “Kris”!) as the storyline grows, but it’s interesting that Toby’s flipping his last game’s morals like this. 2- While this is technically a theory, I think it’s pretty fair to say that the storyline and actions of Deltarune aren’t canon to Undertale. There’s a lot of evidence in there to support this, but the key ones for me are that Asriel is alive, Undyne and Alphys never met, Kris has at the least been with the Dreemurrs since they* were a small child, and the Skelebros are apparently new in town. *To the best of my knowledge, no pronouns have been used yet for Kris and no gender/sex has been stated. As such, I’m defaulting to they/them pronouns here and make no claim as to Kris’s gender.

  3- One of the things I’m going to guess is different: monsters were never sealed Underground. Now, what’s my reasoning? Well, first and foremost, at no point does anyone mention anything even remotely similar to the events of Undertale. It would presumably have a pretty big effect on monsters, but there’s not a word on it here. Another thing to support this theory is that Frisk, Chara, and all the Fallen Children are completely absent from the game, save from a possible reference in the upstairs of Asgore’s flower shop. You could say that ‘Kris’ is Frisk’s real name, but the dialogue would seem to contradict that. It would also go against the big reveal in Undertale that Frisk’s name is, well, Frisk. One final thing that I’d say supports this is that Snowdrake’s Mom, Greater Dog, and Shyren’s Sister are all buried in the graveyard next to Father Alvin’s church, and they’re buried under their own names, rather than as Amalgamates. If the monsters weren’t sealed Underground, then Alphys would have no reason to research artificial SOULS, and as such would never have made the Amalgamates... which also means that the monsters they brought in who had ‘fallen down’ would simply die regularly.

4- So this is less important than some of the others, but something kinda interesting I noticed was that the Dreemurrs are rather heavily implied to be members of some denomination of Christianity. The religious music CDs under Asriel’s bed, the hymn book on the living room sidetable, Asgore’s mention of going to the diner “after Sunday service,” Father Alvin asking Kris to join the choir to fill their brother’s place, and getting frustrated when the only thing Kris is interested in is the ‘Fruit Juice’, all of that combines to suggest that they follow some form of Christian belief, or the effective equivalent thereof.  This isn’t really an important detail on its own, or terribly plot-relevant on the whole, but I do think it’s rather interesting that Toby chose to include it. It adds additional highlighting to some of the theological themes of Undertale; we’ll see if it has any greater presence later on. 5- When Ralsei mentions the Eastern Fountain, Susie says “What, like a water bubbler?” The word “bubbler” is slang for a water fountain, that is used near-exclusively in the American state of Wisconsin. Susie is a cheesehead, and that’s a head-canon that I’ll defend until I die. 6- Something is off about Kris, and has been for a very long time. Look at Asriel’s side of the room: trophies on the shelves, pictures on the walls, and personal belongings under the bed and in his desk. Compare that to Kris’s side: there’s nothing but a sidetable, a bed, a lamp, a wagon, the Cage, and a mysterious stain. There’s nothing personal, nothing that would show anything they’re interested in. It’s just bare. In addition: The (I don’t know the name, sorry) deer in the hospital is one of Asgore’s closest friends, and was there at the wedding between the two. Yet he straight-up calls Kris the “creepy neighbor kid” and mentions a bunch of rather malicious pranks Kris played on his daughter. Father Alvin is irritated that Kris seemingly doesn’t care about the services, and just wants to drink the “sick” ‘Fruit Juice’ (either wine, or literal fruit juice; the odd syntax surrounding the term “Fruit Juice” suggests to me personally that it’s not actually juice.) Multiple people, most notably Susie and the King of Spades, call them oddly quiet. And, of course, the ending scene shows rather graphically that something is fundamentally wrong with this child. The question, of course, is what is wrong, specifically, and how long has it been this way? I suppose the only thing we can do is wait and see...

Everyone remembers Alphys and Undyne is a thing, but everyone forgot about two most muscular and loving guards in the entire undeground!

A wonderful couple In my opinion. I am glad to see them together in Deltarune. I like that they seem to be doing well. (Of course, it is strange that RoyalGuards in Deltarune have different color than in Undertale. But I don't think it's that important.) My Headcanon is that they are married and already bought themselves a cozy house in this town and are going to adopt a child soon!

I mentally prepearing myself for my country banning any depiction of not traditional non-cis-hetero-normative people in any form. So, I, as a queer person myself, will draw as many gay/lesbian/trans/ectr shit as I can this month! Expect sweetness, tenderness, warmth, perhaps flags and a lot of love! And if my fears are not justified I will not stop my own pride gallery because I am still afraid of my life because of my sexuality in my country. I am finally am able to say that I am proud to be me.
