The Ultimate Guide to Delta 9 Gummies: Benefits, Dosage, and Effects
Tumblr media
Introduction
Delta 9 gummies have surged in popularity as a convenient and enjoyable way to experience the benefits of delta 9 THC, a compound found in cannabis. In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into the benefits, dosage recommendations, and effects of delta 9 gummies, helping you make informed decisions about incorporating them into your wellness routine.
Understanding Delta 9 Gummies
Delta 9 gummies are a type of edible infused with delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis. Unlike traditional delta 9 THC products like smoking or vaping, gummies offer a discreet and precise way to consume cannabis. They come in various flavors, doses, and formulations, catering to a wide range of preferences and needs.
Benefits of Delta 9 Gummies
Pain Relief: Delta 9 THC has been shown to possess analgesic properties, making it effective for managing various types of pain, including chronic pain conditions.
Stress and Anxiety Reduction: Many users report feeling relaxed and less anxious after consuming delta 9 gummies, making them a popular choice for stress relief.
Improved Sleep: Delta 9 THC may help regulate sleep patterns and promote deeper, more restful sleep, offering relief for individuals struggling with insomnia or sleep disturbances.
Enhanced Mood: Some users experience an uplifted mood and heightened sense of well-being after consuming delta 9 gummies, making them a potential option for mood enhancement.
Dosage Recommendations
Determining the right dosage of delta 9 gummies is essential for achieving the desired effects while minimizing the risk of adverse reactions. Factors such as tolerance, body weight, metabolism, and individual sensitivity to THC can influence the ideal dosage. It's crucial to start low and gradually increase the dose until you find what works best for you.
Low Dosage: Beginners or those with low THC tolerance should start with a low dosage, typically around 2.5-5mg of delta 9 THC per serving.
Moderate Dosage: For users with some experience or moderate tolerance to THC, a dosage of 5-10mg per serving may be suitable.
High Dosage: Individuals with a high tolerance to THC may require higher doses, ranging from 10-25mg per serving or more.
Effects of Delta 9 Gummies
Delta 9 gummies can produce a range of effects, depending on factors such as dosage, individual physiology, and product formulation. Common effects may include:
Euphoria and relaxation
Altered perception of time and space
Heightened sensory perception
Increased appetite (commonly referred to as "the munchies")
Impaired coordination and motor skills
Dry mouth and red eyes
It's essential to consume delta 9 gummies responsibly and in moderation to avoid adverse effects such as anxiety, paranoia, or overwhelming intoxication.

Dinotopia Poll
There are descriptions for locations below, I couldn't figure out how to summarize them within the poll listings.
1- A Hatchery. There are baby dinosaurs to take care of! Farms are in the surrounding area. This one is probably cheating a bit as it's not a specific place, but a hatchery relatively close to the shoreline is the Denisons' introduction to Dinotopian society. Also, it bears repeating: baby dinosaurs.
2- Pooktook. Admittedly it's one of the lesser described cities, but it got a vibrant, bustling panorama. There is an implication there's a thriving craft industry, but that's the norm for Dinotopian locations.
3- Volcaneum. A town set in a caldera, there's a notable focus on metalworking. Like Pooktook, the specifics aren't dwelled on. It's probably a bit more industrial than the rest of Dinotopia, but that's a very low bar.
4- Waterfall City. This is likely the city first thought of when Dinotopia as a franchise gets mentioned, given its stunning visuals in multiple books and its focus in the TV series. The canals are a major method of getting around, but there are also plenty of bridges. Gliding and narrow paths are the ways in and out of the city. The city itself has a library, theaters, gardens (including a hedge maze), observatories, hot baths, a rare flower house, concert halls, and a Haven of the Muses (it seems to be more of a gathering place for various artist types than a school).
5- Hadro Swamp. No specific settlement is named in the main books that I caught, but the imagery used is memorable (to me, at least). It's probably a slow-paced way of living. There are regular concerts held by humans and, well, hadrosaurs (no surprise there). Reed boats are used for travel.
6- Treetown. Don't go here if you're afraid of heights, but if you loved the Ewok village in Return of the Jedi, this is the place for you. North of the Backbone Mountains and the Rainy Basin, Treetown is a relatively small community. There are plenty of sauropods. I'm not sure if it's specific to Arthur or not, but there is plenty of botany that can be researched here.
7- Cornucopia. It hosts the regular Dinosaur Olympics, where youths (saurian and human alike) prove that they've undergone physical training. It's implied that mental growth, especially in regards to teamwork, is also tested here. It's relatively close to Treetown, so both locations are near the Deep Lake.
8- Canyon City. Again, don't go here if heights are a concern. The primary Skybax Rider rookery is here as a result. However, there is a "network of trails and bridges" for the rest of the population that don't ride Skybaxes. Stone apartments are either carved out of the stone itself or constructed under ledges; windows are papered over rather than having glass. Nearby are farms growing primarily cotton, peppers, and squashes. Deeper in the canyon itself are the Sentinels that mark the entrance to the World Beneath.
9- Thermala (or another 'summit village'). A bad option if you dislike the cold and snow, as it's up in the Forbidden Mountains. Ice Age mammals are a common sight here- primarily the herbivores, but the sabertooths do have their own isolated caverns they dwell in. Sky Galleys bring supplies regularly. They tend to be one sprawling stone structure with rooms linked by passages. Mammoth-sized rooms are tunneled/carved into the mountains. Speaking of which, shed mammoth fur is spun into cloth. Music, cooking, and puppetry are common activities.
10- Sauropolis. The capital city of the island, so even on Dinotopia politics are a thing. Gardens and theaters are common. Street bands travel on dinosaurs. Due to being at a river delta, there are canals here as well (possibly part of why the TV show might have elevated the mayor of Waterfall City into a major political figure). Bicycle taxis are used to get around by many and sauropods act as school buses. There are cafes and fashion is a more important aspect of life here than in most other locations.
11- Bonabba. A small farming village with pod-shaped buildings, located near Moss Valley and Bogpeat Mash. It's used as a starting point for sauropod convoys crossing the Rainy Basin so there are large barns nearby. There are definitely spring festivals, and it's likely there are ones for the other seasons as well. Puppets and masks are used on a regular basis.
This isn't a complete list, especially as I deliberately left off the titular city of the third main book (Chandara) given its isolationist status. Being a homebody is going to be a personal choice here. Anyway, I'm curious to see what you all pick, especially those of you who are only hearing about these Dinotopian locales via this poll (which is why there are lengthy explanations).

[ Deepspace Trial ] Open Orbit - stage 120 -- progression notes & team set up overview
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So close, yet so far! I've finally reached the last stage of Open Orbit in the Deepspace Trials. A few things to note about this trial-- stage 120 requires two teams. Team 01 requires 6 emerald memories to match the protofield Stellactrum, while Team 02 requires 6 violet memories. Recommended memory level is 80. With that said, since I'm still working on beating this so let's break down the fights to see what I can do to improve on my attempt runs and eventually clear.
Tumblr media
vod reference: recording-2024-04-19-163211
Team 01 set up w/ 𝓧𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒓
Companion: Xavier - Lightseeker Weapon: Hunter Wand
5 Lightseeking Shadowrend (emerald/solar) Lv 80/awakened using +9 and +12 protocores
5☆ Lightseeking Obsession (emerald/solar) Lv 80/awakened rank 3 using +9 and +12 protocores
5☆ Romantic Afternoon (emerald/lunar) Lv70 rank 1 using +9 protocores
5☆ Fluffy Trap (emerald/lunar) Lv60 using +9 protocores
4☆ A Captured Moment (emerald/lunar) Lv60 using +9 protocores
4☆ Close Feelings (emerald/lunar) Lv60 using +9 protocores
Team 02 set up w/ 𝓡𝒂𝒇𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒍
Companion: Rafayel - Abyss Walker Weapon: Phantasma Sands
5☆ Deep Sea Riches (violet/solar) Lv80/awakened using +9 and +10 protocores
5☆ Deep Sea Promise (violet/solar) Lv80/awakened using +9 protocores
5☆ Whispers (violet/lunar) Lv80 rank 1 using +9 protocores
5☆ Your Fragrance (violet/lunar) Lv77+ using +9 and +12 protocores
4☆ Hidden Shadow (violet/lunar) Lv60 rank 3 using +9 protocores
4☆ Ivory Nightfall (violet/lunar) Lv60 rank 3 using +9 protocores
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the first half, I am able to clear the round even though I sometimes cut it close to the timer running out. Using the Hunter Wand, it'll help to group them all up or at close to each other before dropping an [active skill] to AOE dmg all of them. Otherwise it takes too long to single target them down individually.
Tumblr media
For the second half this a two minute fight. The Elysian Cervus wanderer has 5-HP bars + 4-shields. It's good to note that It locks its shields a couple times throughout the fight - probably HP triggered, but I'll have to do more runs to test it to see if I can phase skip those or at least time it so I don't lose out on damage.
Tumblr media
On my best run attempt I'm able to execute 3 complete shield breaks before the timer runs out, but it's still no where near close to a clear lol.. I have roughly 1 and a half HP bar left on the boss. So I need to figure out how to get more damage in my stats by either leveling up my memories or protocores. Currently I'm working on leveling up [Your Fragrance] to level 80. I'll do some more test run to see if I need to level up the 4-star memory [Ivory Nightfall] and/or [Hidden Shadow] from level 60 to 70 afterwards. I know I'll need to level them up eventually to use or for affinity points, but I don't want to use precious resources for 4-stars when I prioritize 5-star memories in the long run. As for protocores? It will require a lot of stamina dedicated to only farming protocores. It'll also take a lot of gold and core energy resources to fully level up to +15. Most of my protocores are at least +9, but I'll be okay with getting them to at least +12 for the extra stat bonus level up. Even then that is still taxing... For now I'll do a my daily core farm to complete tasks to slowly build up resources and maybe use those free stamina packs from completing all the dailies to farm them on Sundays if I need to find a better protocore. Main focus for me will be on obtaining violet delta cores - need to look for more or better Crit Rate main stats to replace the dmg boost to weakened ones I have equipped.

Fire Orbit 103 stats with Fresh Paint Rafayel! This took many tries, and several things had to line up nicely to be able to clear. This is also the first stage where I felt that I needed to have Crit DMG delta cores on - and I can say for sure that it helped.

I did the general strategy outlined in these frenzy notes with some additional key points: - Luck: I managed to group the first wave of mobs and so killed them pretty quickly - In wave 2, when frenzy mob was near death (around 50% 1x HP), I used resonance on both mobs in order to finish off the frenzy mob and also break the other mob's shield at the same time, buying me more time - Killed wave 2 by 1:40 time remaining - Luck: In wave 3, by the time frenzy was near death, dragon happened to dash to where frenzy was, so I used resonance to finish off the frenzy and break the dragon's shield at the same time - My second oath happened to align when dragon's shields were down - Kept using active skill on the dragon during its shield lock state - Didn't have to use my third oath within the last few seconds

road trip slide show!
It’s not the destination, but the journey” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Road-trip to view the 2024 total Solar Eclipse in Missouri, USA was packed with experiences (only 3 minutes of which was viewing the total eclipse). See/read the slide show under the cut!
Tumblr media
Our journey started on Saturday and we expected to spend at least 5-6 hours in the car each day (it is 12 hours drive time to our eclipse viewing location in Missouri). Actual time spent on road each day was around 9 🤣 - so our greatest effort on the math figuring out how long our days would be. Ufda, getting to your Airbnb at 9pm each day is exhausting.
There are three humans and one animal on this trip, myself, husband, friend, and friend’s dog.
First event we experienced: the Mississippi River!
Now this needs some background - I live 3 minute drive away from the Mississippi in Minnesota. Could walk to it if I wanted. I’ve been to the headwaters in Itasca, MN and the delta in Louisiana. I cross this river almost daily for the grocery store or to see family … it’s like a big part of life where I live.
We arrived in Guttenberg, IA to Lock and Dam #10 and I’m like - ooh big river! Hey guys, which River is this?
🤔
Yeah, the big River here in this part of the United States is …. The Mississippi River. 🤦
Laughs all around - we enjoyed a short walk near the lock and dam, enjoyed all the fun street names, found a bathroom, and got back on the road.
Tumblr media
By the way - one of our road trip companions was very cute and a very good puppers for the entire trip. Just amazing!
Tumblr media
So day two - husbeast (husband) loudly stated a desire for a roadside attraction during today’s driving. The world’s biggest something, or weirdest whatever …. Something cool. Our friend did some kick butt research and found …. American Giants museum in Atlanta, Illinois. A mere 15 minutes off the hwy; and we were incredibly fortunate cause it was the first weekend they were open on Sundays too!
Upon entering the main downtown area we were greeted by: Paul Bunyon (hot dog man)
And our Minnesota hearts were so happy to see this large giant friend who is also a Paul Bunyan - but different name spelling cause of copyright issues 🤣🤣🤣 (or so the sign stated).
The dog was NOT a fan of hot dog Paul Bunyon man, but we were!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
And the museum - y’all it was top notch! A single room, but like, FABULOUS write ups for the history of the Big Friends fiberglass works. Just awesome. The volunteers - also top notch. So friendly and happy to chat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And if you’re anywhere near there, Memorial Day weekend they are getting one of the last remaining 6 Texaco giants!
Back on the road and onto our next stop which was ….St. Louis and the Gateway Arch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And guess what! We saw a BIG RIVER! Hey guys, which River is this ….. it’s the Mississippi, still. 🤣🤣
Tumblr media
Back on the road to Union, MO to rest up for ECLIPSE DAY!
Many many many friends and family informed us that the traffic TO the eclipse would be pretty good … but leaving the eclipse location would double or triple driving time. WORTH IT!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Many people have written about viewing an eclipse, how it’s an amazing experience. The highlights for me?
When the sun is totally eclipsed you are able to see SUNSET colors at the horizon EVERYWHERE - which is just like …. I love clouds and sunsets and that was AWESOME
Again, totally eclipsed you can see STARS (maybe it’s a planet?) - like the brightest starts are visible!
as the sun returns, the sky opposite the sun looks like twilight, while the light illuminating your front is like day. It’s wild.
total drive time on eclipse day:
1.5 hours from Airbnb to eclipse viewing spot
4 hours to travel same distance away from eclipse
Oh, and side note, traveling to our overnight after the eclipse, we crossed the Mississippi again. “Hey guys, what big river is this?” 🤣
The eclipse was a real highlight of the trip. But not the only highlight.
On the final day of travel, our picnic lunch location took us to a small town in Iowa. As we turn off the highway we see “Welcome to Riverside, IA” and immediately husbeast is exclaiming …
“We’re going to the future birthplace of CAPTAIN KIRK!” We’re huge Star Trek fans in this house - and we met the friend traveling with us thru a Star Trek podcast group many years ago. She’s been to Trekfest in Riverside before, and highly recommends attending. It’s a sweet gathering of wonderful Star treky people … and the few locals we spoke to in Riverside were very friendly!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fabulous trip. on final count, we crossed the Mississippi 4 times, and I asked which River it was only 3 times. Go me.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t just about the destination, but the journey along the way.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
I have been tagged by @timetravelbypen, yayyyy!! :D
1. How many works do you have on AO3?:
53
2. What's your total AO3 word count?:
1,521,662
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Sailor Moon, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Prodigy, And one Harry Potter story, the xover.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Parent Trap (301)
Sailor Moon H: Order of the Phoenix (283)
Sailor Moon H: Half-Blood Prince (217)
Out of Reach (currently taken down) (150)
Eden's Deception (149)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I always try to respond to comments. I especially love when people have questions or want hints about what comes next.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Tumblr media
HAHAHAHAHA oh boy. Um... you... you want me to choose just one? hmmm... Alright so honestly I think while Afterimage and What Even is Three Minutes did numbers on the J/C crowd, nothing tops the cliffhangers at the end of Sailor Moon H: Half-Blood Prince in terms of how much angst they induced in readers. The double whammy: (1) the youngest senshi getting turned into a horcrux and taken hostage by Bellatrix Lestrange and (2) Morgana Avery, the OC whom I had carefully crafted to be a character you loved burning up her boyfriend's shop with dark magic and then casting the Dark Mark in order to infiltrate the death eaters as an undercover spy... My betas and I were taking bets on whether I'd get readers coming after me with pitch forks for that one.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
There's a few contenders but I don't think any happiness quite compares to Captain Kathryn Janeway in The Captain's Secret Santa, getting a puppy for Christmas.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
A smattering of memorable flames which I try to save to reflect back on when I need a good laugh.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
*opens trench coat* Smut you say? Well gosh golly gee. What in the blazes could that be? SMUT. Funny word. Hmmm. I'm not sure I know anything about that.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I have written exactly two. Sailor Delta is on hold for the moment because the other one Sailor Moon H has one story to go. And i think if there were an award for craziest crossover I would submit that one and have a good chance to be in the running. It would win on craziest word count and probably on shenanigans too. And then it had the nerve to give itself a real plot. I started that as a crack fic and it got a mind of its own. And I am still writing it 8 years later XD.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I had all of my unlocked works on AO3 gobbled up by the initial crawl that Open AI used to build Chat GPT and that SUCKED. Not because it's been reproduced wholesale but because they'll use my hard work to make millions of dollars and all of the writers who were included in that dataset are both uncredited and uncompensated. I don't think I've ever had a fic stolen by another human. But if you do see what looks like my fic anywhere fishy, kindly let me know!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No one has but I would be open to it!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I've co-written a few!
One for a challenge with @magdalenejaneway,
one with Dawn47 when I was there as a Shakespeare assist.
memorable live-writing adventures with @trekflower. (one of my favorite people to write sexy fic with.)
And the longest one, which I am still so impressed we finished (and still one of my favorite things to reread) was the big Threshold AU Season 7 with @jellybeansarecool
I've talked about cowriting with @theredheadedcaptain but we both agreed that given our penchant for massively long fics that combining both of those tendencies was a very dangerously large project to contemplate XD
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
J/C is very near and dear to my heart but so is the Outer Senshi OT3 and I could never choose between them.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I am determined to finish all of my WIPs. Yes even SMH. Yes I know its been going on for 8 years. I am SLOW, okay. SLOW. Not lost. I know precisely how I want that thing to go.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I don't like tooting my own horn but okay... I feel confident in my ability to plot a long fic and see it through. In my ability to write something that brings you to your knees with emotion. And I do a damn good villain speech.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Time management. Word Count management. Oneshots.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Depends if it's there to be understood in context or there to stand out as not understood. I'd write dialogue in another language if it was there to be understood. I'd gloss over it if the intention was that the character and reader shouldnt understand it. I also wouldnt do it for whole lines of dialogue unless it was for a very good reason. Would prefer to throw in only the untranslateable words or to use greetings/honorifics and other smaller phrasal cues to indicate which language is being spoken.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
W.I.T.C.H. in 2009-2010
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Two:
I fell in love with writing The Universe to Mend this year and I've already re-read it once since finishing it in October. It brought me so much joy. It was such a fun challenge. and I think it was some of the best character work I've ever done.
While I wince when I re-read some of the typos, Pax Lunae was still the first ever story that I felt proud of and that remains true today. It was a challenge to dive into the lore of Sailor Moon and create something that could be canon. It was also the first fic I could hold up and say "Hey! I wrote something the length of a novel. I could write a novel" And I like to reread it to remember that feeling. Someday I'll have a chance to clean up some of the spelling too..
Alrighty let's see. I want to tag @theredheadedcaptain @divinemissem13 @jellybeansarecool and @curator-on-ao3 if they'd like to take a crack at it. and anyone else who follows me and wants to - go for it!.

Bix Caleen Playlist!
A playlist in chronological order from the opening of season 1 through the end of an imagined season 2. Reasoning/events for each song and lyrics excerpts under the cut.
1. "Bix Caleen" by Nicholas Britell— let us start off with some Bix Vibes
2. "I Go To Work" by Delta Rae— opening of season 1, Bix is mostly just focused on making a living and creating a stable life for herself
I go to work Every day to be worthy The ground on which I stand I go to work Can't nobody can hurt me This hammer in my hand
3. "Chasing Twisters" by Delta Rae— Cassian shows up again, asking for favors. I imagine this song as a sort of duet between Bix and Cassian, with some lines from one or the other's perspective.
Cassian: And I went home Chasing twisters in the canyon My cathedral is the badlands Dust and devils on my conscience Come back to me, darling Bix: (hearkening a bit forward to that moment in ep 12) Don't you know I dream about you Don't you know I dream about you
4. "Drift" by The 5:55— In the aftermath of the Corpos coming to Ferrix, Bix tries to piece her life back together.
Oh I gotta hold my post Before I slip into the violent road and throws me in To the wild I hope I find the light again 5. "Is There Anyone Out There" by Delta Rae— Bix attempts to signal Luthen one last time, despite knowing it's a lost cause. She is left lost and alone with the radios permanently silenced.
Is there anyone out there? You know me I am the son Of a lost country Of a new world And we were born to run And we never looked back
and All my heroes they were strange We all just want to be the same But who will lead us when they are gone? Who will save us when the wrong ones have won?
6. "Sleep" by My Chemical Romance— In the aftermath of the interrogation, Bix is tormented both awake and in her dreams by the effects of Gorst's device as well as the guilt of Paak dying for her actions.
A drink for the horror that I'm in For the good guys and the bad guys For the monsters that I've been
and
And sleep Just sleep The hardest part's The awful things that I've seen
7. "Let Go" by Ark Patrol— After her rescue, Bix struggles with PTSD, dissociation, and generally feeling that her mind still isn't free from the Empire's clutches. (This one's more for the instrumental part of the song than the lyrics— the song feels like a drifting, dissociated mind.)
Stuck inside your clutch It's chilling to the touch Never liked it much And now you won't let go
8. "Lessen the Damage" by Ark Patrol— As Bix recovers, she becomes overwhelmed with anger and a desire for revenge against Dedra, Gorst, and the entire Empire.
I'm trying very very hard not to quote the whole song here because the whole thing is perfect but here are some excerpts:
When you crossed me Didn't know what you had done A chain reaction happened And it's too late to run
You look at me, I look at you And you know what I'm gonna do
and
Leave her, don't touch her Let me be the one to destruct her
9. "Little Pistol" by Mother Mother— Despite her newfound rage and purpose, Bix can't shake the terror from the aftereffects of the torture. Her fear gradually transforms into a near-suicidal desire to take on the Empire with no regard for the consequences for herself. (Also, the guitar line on this song sounds remarkably like Bix's theme!!)
Up on my side, where it is felt I pack a little pistol on my pistol belt I think it might be fear Of the world and the way it makes you feel afraid
[...] And now I want brimstone in my garden I want roses set on fire And I, well, I want what's best for me And I, well, I think I know just what that means
[...]
And I, well I found what's best for me And now I see no tragedy And I, well, I've found a burning rose And now I won't be packing little pistols No, no, no more
10. "Never Find My Place" by Poppy— Five years after Season 1, with the Rebellion truly erupting across the galaxy, Bix returns to Ferrix with a group of Rebels to recapture her planet from Empire control or die trying. This whole song is genuinely perfect but once again I will attempt restraint with the excerpt:
It's been five years tonight Therе isn't time for reminiscing Needle in my sidе I force my fears to disappear
The evil I have faced Is about to be erased You broke into my life uninvited
Pick up the gun and run Take what's mine and get my space 'Cause I know that I will be fine If I never find my place
Thank you if you got this far!!!

Today has been very good so far.
First, i got my dentist appointment out of the way. Not only did I get my fillings out of the way with a wonderful new dentist and assistant, the Invisalign process is now over. My killer headaches are gone and I very rarely have their like anymore.
I proceeded to have the best conversation ever with the front desk staff. The lady who checked me out said, "Oh, is that a green-cheek conure in your photo?"
It took me a second to remember that the sign-up process for the dental office had asked for a picture, and the only selfie I had on hand included Indy. So Idgaf, here's my face and my bird I guess.
Anyway, we proceeded to have a great conversation. She had owned a green cheek for a while before realizing he needed more play time than she could give him. It was clear she had deeply loved him and taken good care of him and made a heart-wrenching--but ultimately good--call. I definitely commended her. She's one of the first people who straight-up said, "He was just a little person!!" And I was like YES YOU UNDERSTAND. Like owning a creature this smart goes full circle into guilt sometimes.
We also proceeded to wax eloquent on the adorable natures of hamsters ("Their little hands!!!" she said. "Their fat cheeks!!!" I said).
Meanwhile her partner at the desk clearly wanted in on the conversation but it all had to end. I wished them both well :)
I walked outside to my car. A passel of electricians were there, fixing something in a box clapped to the outside of the building. Their vehicle blocked the sidewalk, and the street was busy, so I squeezed between vehicle and building, apologizing so they knew I was near.
"Oh, that's okay!" said one of the guys, who was sitting on top of the truck. "We're the ones in your way."
"No worries!" I said.
He was so pleasant and clearly wished me well. His coworkers--three other dudes--also apologized as I passed through. Then they started razzing each other in a good-natured way. Really made me smile!
I headed to the smoke shop to pick up my Delta 9 gummies. Had to apologize to the clerk, who was wearing a mask, because I had forgotten my own (I didn't wear it to the dentist's for obvious reasons). He then asked me, "Do you mind if I ask you an odd question?"
"Not at all!"
"Would you like two tacos? They fixed them with flour tortillas and i can't eat them because I have Celiac's disease."
So then I got two tacos and they were very good :)))
The bus ride was blissfully quiet. No shouting people whatsoever.
Only half the day is over. My hope is that the happiness continues :))))
