Hidden West Seattle
Nestled between Delridge Ave. and 35th Ave. is a couple mile stretch of green space. This is a marshy, pond area created by a beaver. We saw a family of ducks as we walked along the trail, and an old power substation complete with a high wall and cameras surrounding it.

spencer reid x readerÂ
Best years part six | part five | part four | part three | part two | part one
Summary: in a spree killer case in seattle, the reader is injured and meets up with an old friend.
warnings: normal criminal minds things, mentions of psychological torture and abuse
A/N: based on season 7 episode 17; also this part satisfies my dream of a greyâs anatomy x criminal minds crossover lol
Y/N sat in Hotchâs office, right leg shaking as she watched the man read over all the notes she had received over the last 4 months. His eyes scan over the words of each note, some being longer than the others.Â
Finally, he looked up after what felt like an eternity.
âHow long has this been going on?â He asked her with a raised brow.Â
âThe letters, or me and her?â Y/N asked back.Â
âLetâs start at the beginning then,â he said.Â
Y/N took a breath, âOkay, it started in my freshman year of college. Caroline took me under her wing and I trusted her. She was seven years older than me so she became like a big sister at first, but than she would try to get me to do things I wasnât comfortable with doing. When I said no to doing these things she would get angry a-and hit me, so I started distancing myself from her.
When I gained new friends, I guess she became jealous and she would come over when they were there and just psychologically torture me and them. Yell at us, use the power of suggestion and hurt them, sheâs really good at mind games and manipulating people. She would convince them it wasnât her that hurt them, but them who told her to do it or that they fell and hurt themselves, and there was nothing I could do to stop her from hurting people I loved. She said if I told anyone she would hurt my family. So I never let myself have friends, she was the only one I talked to, and she would hit me and scream at me until I was nothing but a shell of who I was.â Y/N wiped the tears on her face that she didnât even realize had fallen. âIâm- Iâm sorry-âÂ
âY/N itâs alright, itâs a time in your life that was very traumatic,â Hotch said, letting her feel comfortable again after she felt embarrassed. âHow did you get away?â
âIn my junior year, I decided I wanted to stop people who wanted to hurt others, like how Caroline was doing to me, so my senior year I applied for the academy after I graduated. I guess she found out and then she disappeared, but she would send me notes just like this up until my 25th birthday.âÂ
âThatâs when she went to prison for assault,â Hotch said as he looked over the timeline Penelope had pieced together.
 âYeah,â Y/N said.
âWhat does the bird mean?â Hotch asked.Â
âI donât know, sheâs always liked it, I guess itâs her signature,â Y/N answered.Â
 âWho all knows about her?âÂ
âMy mom, my best friend who lives in Seattle, Spencer, and Penelope,â Y/N said. âAnd of course you, now.â
âAlright, I donât know what all I can do to help, but thank you for telling me Y/N,â Hotch said with a small smile which made Y/N feel better.Â
âThank you, sir,â Y/N said and stood up to exit the room, wiping under her eyes to clear the mascara before she faced the music of those in the bullpen.Â
She walked down the four steps from Hotchâs office and reached the floor of the bullpen. Spencer looked up from his desk to see Y/N, his heart aching seeing the same tear-stained face from when she told him a couple of days before.Â
Spencer completely understood fully why she didnât tell him about this. She didnât know about his problem with Dilaudid until one night they were together on the plane a little while after she joined the team. The rest of the team was asleep but the two insomniacs were wide awake, talking quietly and getting to know each other better. Thatâs the night Y/N developed feelings for the boy wonder.Â
âAlright, whatâs one of the hardest cases you worked?â Y/N asked in a whisper as she looked over at Spencer in his chair.Â
âUh, for me personally, or just a genuinely hard case?â Â
 âBoth.âÂ
âWell, I guess they go hand-in-hand,â Spencer began. âWe-we were working these home invasion cases in Georgia, and we thought that the unsubs were more than one you know? Anyway, JJ and I went to one of the suspectâs home and I was kidnapped-â
âSpencer you donât have to-â Y/N tried to tell him he didnât have to tell her this, seeing that it was hard for him.Â
âNo, no, I want to,â Spencer interrupted. He wanted to tell her because he trusted her. He continued to tell the story of how Tybyus Heinkel was all the unsubs in one, having a multiple personality disorder. How he was drugged and tortured for two days, and how he had a drug problem after too.Â
âSpencer, Iâm so sorry,â Y/N said, reaching over and placing her hand on top of his.Â
âFor what? You donât have anything to be sorry for. Anyways, itâs over now, so whatâs your hardest case?â Spencer said reassuring her, trying to turn the topic away from him.Â
âWell, from the ones I worked with before the BAUâŚâ
âHowâd it go?â Spencer asked as Y/N approached his desk.Â
âAs well as it could have gone,â she said with a sad smile. She was glad that she finally told Hotch, knowing this was probably better than just keeping it to herself.Â
She sat down at her own desk and began to get back to work, but her mind couldnât focus, the only thing she was able to think about being the last note she got.Â
--------
âOkay, Kevin, seriously, I got a meeting I gotta get to,â Derek said to Kevin while he stood outside of the round table room.Â
Y/N stood with Penelope, both of them watching with curiosity as Derek and Kevin talked. Well, Kevin talked while chasing Derek.Â
âDerek, please, come on, bro-- this is important,â Kevin pleaded as Derek walked into the room.Â
âOh, this should be interesting,â Y/N said as she watched Penelope approach Derek.Â
âUm, hi, yeah what was that about?â Penelope asked, knowing that Drek and Kevin never just chit-chat together. Â
âOh uh, he just wanted to talk,â Derek responded.
 âAbout what?â
 âGuy stuff.âÂ
 âMe?â
âGarcia,â Hotch said interrupting the twoâs conversation. âLetâs get started.âÂ
âOh- yes, sorry, uh. Two couples were found shot, uh, to death in the Delridge neighborhood of Seattle, Washington,â Penelope said beginning the case. âThe first was Mark Daniel and Ben priestly, they were found dead in their living room. The second was John and Heather Miller, they lived 4 miles away, and they were found last night dead in their hallway.â
âTheir daughter found them?â JJ asked.Â
âYeah, she had snuck out to see her boyfriend, when she got back, they were dead,â Penelope answered. Â
âTwo double homicides must be rare in that area,â Rossi stated.Â
âWhat makes it weirder is that there was no sign of robbery or sexual assault,â Penelope said.Â
âThe shooter used a 22,â Derek said looking up from the file.
 âShot them execution-style,â JJ said.Â
âHeâs experienced enough to use a pillow as a silencer, â Hotch added.
âDonât wanna wake the neighbors,â Emily said.Â
âYou know,â Spencer began turning to the screen with the crime scene photos on it. âThese crimes seem to lack the emotionality that we typically see in personal cause homicides.â
âMost executions are criminal enterprise related,â Y/N said looking at Spencer next to her.Â
âBut the probability of these couples being involved in the exact same illegal activity is kind of low,â Spencer countered.   Â
âThereâs no way these were random victims of opportunity,â Derek said looking over at Spencer.Â
âGarcia, no sign of forced entry?â Hotch asked the woman next to him.Â
âNone that the authorities have found, no,â she responded.Â
âSo itâs a home invasion,â Hotch said plainly.Â
âOr-â Y/N held her pen up- âthe unsub is using a ruse,â she said pointing the pen at Hotch while she spoke.Â
âEither way, theyâre calculating and dispassionate,â Rossi said.Â
âThey have no appreciation to chenille throw pillows,â Penelope said looking at the pillows n the photos.
âWell, the violent and targeted nature of these crimes suggests that there could be more,â Derek said leaning forward on the table.Â
âWheels up in thirty,â Hotch said dismissing everyone.Â
Everyone began to walk out of the room, and Y/N walked swiftly to catch up with Derek before he got to his office.Â
âMorgan,â she whispered loudly as she followed behind him.Â
âWhatâs up, Pretty girl?â Derek said turning around to look at Y/N.Â
âWas Kevin talking to you about him doing something extra special for Penelope? Maybe like a proposal?â Y/N asked with excitement.Â
Derek raised a brow in surprise, âHow did you know that?âÂ
âWell you two have never just âtalkedâ, and he was over-explaining things with his hands. Itâs also what my best friendâs boyfriend did with me before proposing to her,â Y/N explained.Â
âHe did, but I donât know if thatâs even what Penelope wants,â Derek said, trying to give a reason as to why he avoided Kevinâs question earlier.Â
âI mean, I get it, you didnât want to give him false hope, but you and I both know sheâs going to try and find out whatâs going on now, right?âÂ
Derek laughed nodding, âYeah, she probably will.â
---------------
âAlright, letâs go over victimology,â Hotch said, bringing the attention to him. âEach of the victims is a professional.â
âThe domestic partners were lawyers and the millers worked at a tech company,â Rossi said looking at Hotch.Â
âBut P.D. couldnât find any overlap,â Emily added.Â
âBoth couples were really enjoyed by their peers, neighborhood watch, volunteered in community groups, you name it,â Penelope said, her voice coming through the laptop speaker.Â
âThis was a straight-up execution,â Y/N said looking at the file in her hand. âThe kneeling on the ground, placing a pillow behind the head.âÂ
 âSeems ritualistic,â Hotch said.Â
âOr simply taking precautions,â Rossi argued.Â
âSome of the vics were shot in the leg,â Emily said, almost a question but more of an unknown statement.
âThey probably were trying to defend themselves, and this was the only way our unsub could them to the floor,â Rossi said looking at Emily.
âWell, the scenes pretty clean, except whatâs left on the floor and the pillows,â JJ said.Â
âGarcia, how are each of the couplesâ financials?â Hotch asked the woman on the screen.Â
âYo, I wish mine were this good,â she responded.Â
âWhat about the Millersâ daughter Abby?â Rossi asked.
âYeah, she sneaks out to see her boyfriend, that seems oddly convenient,â Y/N said looking at Rossi in agreement.
âP.D. confirms her story, a neighbor saw her kissing her boyfriend in his backyard during the times of the kills,â Spencer said, taking the theory of the daughter being apart away.Â
âRomantic,â Y/N said with a chuckle at what the teenagers had been doing.
âYou guys, something just happened,â Penelope said, bringing the attention to her frantic voice. âAnother couple, the same area, shot to death in their house.â
âThis is turning into a spree,â Derek said.
âTargeting potentially unrelated couple,â Emily added.Â
âAnd the time between the murders is accelerating,â Spencer said.
âPrentiss, you and JJ go talk to Abby. Dave and I will go to yesterdayâs crime scene, Y/N you, Morgan and Reid go to the newest,â Hotch ordered.Â
--------------
Derek pulled into the driveway of the latest victimsâ home. The three filed out of the car and met the detective outside the house.Â
âHi, Iâm Agent Morgan, this Dr. Spencer Reid, and Agent Y/L/N,â Derek said shaking the detectiveâs hand and introducing the two beside him.Â
âNice to meet you guys, follow me,â the detective said, leading the three inside. âI mean, we get our occasional DWI, a few kids egging a house on Halloween, but people shot like thisâŚlooks like one of those cable shows.â
âWell again, thereâs no sign of a break-in,â Derek said from his spot in the doorway.Â
Y/N left Spencerâs side and began to look around the room, inspecting the photos and paintings. Trying to get a sense of who this couple was.Â
âBut all the windows were unlocked, so who knows?â The detective said, the question rhetorical.Â
Y/N then turned her head and looked at the blood spots on the floor. âThey were killed right here?â She asked turning to the detective while she pointed to the spot.Â
 âYeah,â the detective responded.Â
âThey still had their keys out,â Spencer said pointing out the keys that were laying on the ground.Â
âSo they were caught off guard,â Derek said.Â
âThe house is childproof,â Spencer said, noticing all the childproof items around the room.Â
âYeah, it must have been a relative or neighborâs kids,â the detective said.Â
âThey didnât have any kids?â Y/N asked, prompting the detective to shake his head in response.Â
Y/N and Derek followed Spencer as he wandered into the living room of the house. They looked at the table noticing the soda can sitting on the table.Â
âThe unsub probably sat right here,â Derek said pointing the armchair beside him.Â
âHad a soda-â Spencer pointed to the can on the table- âwe should pull the cans for prints.âÂ
âThe reading light is on still, the unsub was probably looking for something,â Y/N said after noticing the light was still on.
âBut there arenât any magazines or newspapers around, which means itâs important enough to take him out of killing mode,â Spencer said looking at Y/N.Â
âFor someone on a spree, this unsub sure is patient,â Derek said.Â
âIf heâs so patient what is it that heâs waiting for?â Spencer asked, looking between Derek and Y/N.Â
âMaybe the unsub though they had something he wanted, and when they didnât, he killed them,â Y/N said as her eyes looked back to the spot where the couple was killed.Â
Once the three had finished in the house, they thanked the detective and headed out to the SUV. The damp air made Y/N pull her navy jacket around her tighter as the air gave her a chill.Â
âY/N, doesnât your best friend live here?â Spencer asked her as they got into the vehicle.Â
âYeah, sheâs a surgical resident at some hospital,â she answered as they pulled out of the driveway. âI would go visit her but I think sheâs a little busy, as well and me.âÂ
------------
âThe Millers and the Gilberts both participated in our foster program, itâs a local joint venture we have with the community center,â the pastor said to Y/N and Spencer that sat across from him at his desk.Â
Hotch had sent the two to the church after they discovered that two of the couples attended the same one.Â
âThat could be the same community center our first victims volunteered at,â Y/N said looking at Spencer who sat next to her. Â
âWell that explains why the homes were childproof,â Spencer said looking to Y/N. âThey sometimes had kids in their custody.âÂ
âYeah but if they were foster parents, it wouldâve come up when Garica checked their backgrounds,â Y/N said.Â
âWhat happens if you get a child who needs a home immediately but no foster families are available? Is there some sort of emergency list or something?â Spencer asked the pastor.Â
â Yeah, they can take the kids for just for a night or a weekend, and -uh- both couples were on that list, too,â the pastor answered.
âWeâre gonna need a copy of that list,â Y/N said to the pastor.Â
âWe also need the names of anyone who would have had access to it,â Spencer added. âOur unsubs following that list,â he whispered to Y/N.Â
âLet me go get that list for you,â the pastor said before exiting the room.
 âThank you,â Y/N said.Â
The pastor returned a moment later with the list. Spencer and Y/N thanked him once again before they left the building.Â
âOur last couple had a baby in their possession two days ago,â Y/N said as she pointed to the name and date on the list.Â
âThat sheds some light on the 22, that gun is easy to handle,â Spencer said as the two walked through the church courtyard.Â
âAnd itâs not very loud,â Y/N added, pocketing the list in her jacket.Â
âYou know, add that to no forced entry, I donât think the pillows were used to minimize sound, they were used to stay clean. Which means this unsub might be a woman,â Spencer said as his brain put the pieces of the puzzle together.
âShe probably had a connection to the foster system,â Y/N said as she caught on the train Spencer was on.Â
âOr she simply wants a kid,â Spencer countered.Â
âBut then why wouldnât she just snatch one off the street?â Y/N said, her voice coming off defensive as the two stopped walking.
âThis is a maternal desire, these couples took in babies. Maybe she lost her own or canât conceive,â Spencer said.Â
âSo she killed those people because when she got to their home, they didnât have a child,â Y/N said, her theory she said back at the crime scene becoming true.Â
âSheâll keep killing until she finds one,â Spencer said as the two began to walk again.Â
----------
âWe believe the unsub weâre looking for is a white female. Who, based upon the organizational level of the crimes, is in her late 30s to early 40s,â Hotch said.Â
âWe also believe that something in the last few days has triggered her to think that killing was the only she was going to be able to obtain a child,â Emily explained.Â
âConsequently, the foster families that did not have a child in their care when she visited, became her victims,â Y/N added, her eyes looking over the officers in front of her.
âBecause all these families recently had children in their homes, we believe our unsub is motivated by maternal desire,â Rossi said.Â
âMaternal desire is the profound emotional need to mother a baby, this stems from either a tragic loss of her own child or the inability to have one at all,â JJ explained.  Â
âThis unsub my also fantasize that someone elseâs baby belongs to her, and this emotion feels beyond her control,â Spencer began as he stood up from his chair. âA woman who miscarries sometimes projects onto someone elseâs baby and then sets out to take that child.â
âThis may cause our unsub to do something drastic. Like commit a cesarean abduction or kidnap a random kid,â Derek said.Â
âThe speed that the kills are occurring suggests that our unsub is frustrated and devolving,â Y/N added. Â
âThis is causing her to go on a spree, which usually ends in a very high body count and suicide by cop,â JJ said.Â
âSo we should look at anyone who was pregnant and suffering from postpartum psychosis,â Derek explained looking at the officer around.Â
âWe also need to check those who worked for or had access to the local foster system,â Rossi added.Â
âThank you, any questions?â Hotch asked looking at the officers.Â
Almost every officer in the room raised their hands. Hotch began to call on people and answer their questions, but Y/N was pulled away as her phone rang.Â
âHey Penelope whatâs up?â Y/N asked after she answered, walking away from the group.Â
âWhat were Derek and Kevin talking about yesterday, I know your nosey butt found out so tell me,â Penelope said, her voice gritting at the end of her sentence.Â
âI canât do that Penelope, itâs not my place,â Y/N responded, not wanting to spoil the surprise.Â
âUgh, fine Iâm just gonna keep calling Derek till he answers,â Penelope then hung up the phone, making Y/N chuckle as she went back to the group.Â
After they had finished answering questions, the team separated and began to work on case details.Â
Y/N sat next to Spencer as he wrote something down while he formed the geographical profile, while Hotch talked to Penelope on the phone. She looked at Spencer, silently admiring his face, his upper lip tucked under his bottom as he focused on his writing.Â
âAnother womanâs been shot,â the detective said, bringing Y/N back to reality. âThree blocks from here.â Â
âShe has a fairly limited comfort zone,â Spencer said as he looked at the spot the woman was just shot at on the map.Â
âAlright, Reid, you and Y/N work the list, Iâll take Rossi and Prentiss with me,â Hotch said, quickly exiting the room.
âYou know, youâre not gonna get any work done if you keep looking at me working,â Spencer said, feeling Y/Nâs gaze on him as he sat working.Â
âIt helps me think,â she responded. Spencer chuckled and continued to work. Â
-----------
âOkay, hereâs the dealio and stay with me,â Penelope said over the phone. After Hotch, Rossi, and Emily visited the scene, they discovered that the woman that was shot had a baby. She was in the process of adopting him and they needed to find out the birth parents that were sealed by the state. âBen, formerly known as Johnny, was born to Margaret Hallman.â
âWhere is she now?â Hotch asked.Â
âWell, she should be at the Fallbrook womenâs correctional facility, but she was released four days ago due to overcrowding,â Penelope answered.Â
âWe thought it was a mental institution,â JJ said.Â
âBut if she was released, why kill to get your own kid?â Rossi asked.Â
âHer maternal rights must have been terminated,â Spencer answered.Â
âYeah, that happens when you have sex with one of your high school students two years ago,â Penelope said.Â
âEw,â Y/N said out loud, the word just slipping out from astonishment and disgust.Â
âUh-huh, his name is Thomas Brown, AKA Tommy Brown, and he is little Johnnyâs baby daddy, like for real,â Penelope explained.Â
 âTeacher love syndrome,â Hotch said.Â
âShe gave birth to Tommyâs baby in jail, and then when Tommyâs mom refused to raise it, the baby was put in foster care.âÂ
âOkay, so we were right, the baby did spend time in each of the victimsâ homes,â Derek said.
 âOh, you betcha,â Penelope responded.Â
âThat would explain the spree and the maternal desire,â Emily elaborated.Â
âSheâs trying to put her family back together,â Y/N said.Â
âGarcia, we need the Brownsâ address,â Hotch ordered to Penelope.Â
âOn its way sir,â Penelope responded.
The team piled into the SUVs and made their way to the Brownsâ residence. The tires came to screeching stop and they piled out of the vehicles and made their way inside.
 âPlease....please help!â A girl laying on the ground spoke.Â
âFemale down,â Derek said passing her and heading into the next room.Â
Y/N and JJ kneeled beside her.Â
âWe need an ambulance at 1986 Homer Street,â Hotch said into his wire. âIs Margret Hallman in the house?â He asked the girl.Â
Y/N and JJ began inspecting her injuries, seeing a gunshot wound in her back.Â
âNo, she took Tommy,â the girl answered breathing heavily.Â
âHey, youâre gonna be okay, sweetie,â Y/N said, hoping to comfort the girl on the ground.Â
 âWhatâs your name?â JJ asked.Â
 âJulie Parker,â she answered.Â
âJulie, do you know where they went?â Hotch asked her.
 âNo,â she cried. âIt hurts.â
âAlright, hey, itâs gonna be okay,â Y/N comforted the girl.
âLetâs put this on it, okay,â JJ said, grabbing a rag and holding it against her back.
âAre you Tommyâs neighbor?â Hotch asked, continuing with his questions.Â
âYes, Ms. Hallman had their baby with her, Tommy took all his stuff,â Julie explained, her voice trembling from the pain.Â
âThe place is empty,â Emily said entering the room.Â
âItâs clear here too,â Derek said entering from the kitchen.Â
âWe need to find all we can on Margret Hallman,â Y/N said looking at Hotch.
âThere are probably other victims in her past,â Hotch agreed.
The sounds of sirens were heard allowing Julie to sigh in relief.Â
âJJ, stay with Julie until her parents get here, weâll call Garcia and find out what we can about Ms. Hallman,â Hotch said, exiting the room with Derek, Emily, and Y/N.Â
âWhat you got baby girl,â Derek said answering the phone while they stood outside the browns house.
âOkay, Ms. Hallman had an exemplary record in jail,â Penelope explained.Â
âWhat was her interaction with the outside world like?â Y/N asked.Â
âUm- well, she had limited computer use, and she used all of that time searching for a⌠Johnny Lewis,â Penelope said, her voice questioning at the end.Â
 âHer baby?â Derek asked.Â
âNo,â Penelope began. âJohnny Lewis is one of her former students from Lake Forrest School. His parents charged her with molestation, and then they dropped the charges.âÂ
 âWhen was this?â Emily asked.Â
âThree years prior to meeting Tommy,â Penelope answered.
âSo she had a baby with Tommy and names it after the first kid she molested,â Y/N said with astonishment.Â
âYeah, and according to the prisonâs hard drive, she wrote dozens of emails to this Johnny Lewis,â Penelope explained.Â
âMaybe Tommyâs a surrogate for him,â Emily said looking at Y/N beside her.Â
âGarcia, we need to talk to the Lewisâ,â Hotch said.Â
âMm, their phone is disconnected,â Penelope answered.Â
 âWhat about an address?â Y/N asked.Â
âTheyâve moved around a lot. Oh- wow, okay itâs like theyâre off the grid.âÂ
âWell, who lives in their old house now?â Derek asked. âMaybe they could help us get info.âÂ
âUh, itâs changed hands a lot. Oh, snap, crackle, and pop goes the lady weasel. Youâll never guess who bought it,â Penelope said.Â
âMs. Hallman,â Y/N and Emily said together, having no surprise or question in their voices.
âMm-hm, it was picked up by her sister a year ago, and then it was transferred to Maggieâs name yesterday,â Penelope explained.Â
âSend us the address?â Hotch asked.
 âAlready sent,â Penelope answered.Â
---------
The sun had just set as the team rolled up to Margaret Hallmanâs house. Local police followed in cars behind them as they stopped in the street in front of the house.Â
Y/N, JJ, and Derek walked up to Hotch and Emily as they got out of the car.Â
âTake the front, Prentiss, and I will take the back,â Hotch said. The three nodded, taking their guns out.Â
The three walked up to the front of the house and watched as Tommy walked out, a gun in his hand.Â
âFBI, drop it!â Derek said when he noticed the gun in the teenâs hand.Â
He lifted the hand with no gun in it up, the other staying by his side. âJust-- Just move, move-- move back,â Tommy spoke with a scared voice.Â
âTommy, drop the gun,â Y/N said, her own gun pointing at the boy.Â
âJust-- just get off our yard,â he answered, his hand motioning over the yard in front of him.Â
âYou donât want to do this,â JJ said with a stern, clear voice.Â
âYou donât know me,â Tommy said. âMy--my girl and kid are in there-âÂ
âSheâs a predator, Tommy,â Derek tried to reason with him.Â
âNo, sheâs not an animal. We love each other,â Tommy tried to explain.Â
âNo, Tommy this isnât love,â Derek said.Â
âTommy this is a woman whoâs been taking advantage of you, she molested you,â Y/N tried to explain.Â
 âNo, I--I knew what I was doing,â Tommy replied.Â
âDid you know there was another kid exactly like you from another school?â JJ asked.Â
 âShut up!â Tommy exclaimed.
 âYou werenât the first, Tommy,â Y/N said.Â
âNo, no, Theyâre lying!â Maggie exclaimed as she walked out, pointing at Y/N and JJ.Â
âTommy she wrote letters to him, too,â Derek explained.Â
âThatâs not true,â Maggie said with a sickeningly sweet voice.Â
âAnd sheâd tell him that everything happens for a reason,â Y/N added.
 âBe quiet!â
âShe said that he was the love of her life, that she loved to sneak out to see him,â Y/N continued.
âThatâs it!âÂ
âTommy, she wrote that to another boy, who lived in this exact same house,â Derek said.
âWhat are they talking about?â Tommy asked looking at Maggie.
âShe even named your son after him,â Y/N said.Â
âAnswer me, damn it!â Tommy exclaimed looking at Maggie, who was covering her ears with her hands.Â
âWithout you, my life would be empty, and thatâs why nothing is going to keep us apart, and I mean nothing,â Maggie said.Â
Tommy then dropped the gun in his hand, not wanting to believe Maggie anymore.Â
Maggie then quickly grabbed the gun Tommy dropped and shot, hitting Y/N on her upper left arm.Â
âUgh!â Y/N exclaimed as she grabbed her arm in pain, blood covering it. She looked up and saw Maggie herself lying down in pain. Hotch could be seen through the screen door of the house, gun still pointed at Maggie.
âMaggie!â Tommy exclaimed, falling to his knees next to her.Â
âY/N are you okay?â JJ asked as she kneeled beside her.Â
âYeah-- yeah, I think so, I might need to go get it looked at though,â Y/N said, looking at the wound on her arm.
âWe need paramedics of the front porch, suspect it down and a federal agent has been wounded,â Hotch said into his wire.
---------
When Y/N arrived at the E.R. of the hospital with JJ, she was directed towards a bed before someone would be with her.
âY/N?â A familiar voice said as they approached.Â
Y/N looked up from her wound that she was inspecting to see her best friend standing, holding a tablet in her hand.Â
âLondon!â Y/N said with excitement as her friend walked towards her. They hugged each other tightly, London avoiding the part of her arm that was hurt. âOh, Iâm sorry JJ, this is London, my best friend,â Y/N said introducing the two.
JJ shook Londonâs hand introducing herself. Â
âHi Iâm Dr. Wilson, Iâll be taking care of you today Mrs. Y/L/N,â a brunette doctor said approaching the three.Â
âOh, Wilson, if you donât mind, Iâll take this one, and itâs Agent Y/L/N,â London said, correcting her younger peer.Â
âOh-- right sorry,â Dr. Wilson said before walking away timidly.Â
âI get to do that, sheâs an intern,â London said, making Y/N and JJ laugh.Â
London began looking at the wound on Y/Nâs arm, telling her it would need some stitches seeing that it was a clean entry and exit wound.Â
As Y/N and JJ sat while London patched up her arm, they chatted about life and all the things that were happening. Their attention was soon brought away from their chat as a frantic Spencer Reid entered the room.Â
âIs that him?â London asked, referring back to all the times Y/N told her about Spencer on the phone.
 âYeah,â she responded.Â
âYou always had good taste,â London chuckled.Â
âY/N, oh thank god youâre okay, all that Derek said was that you got shot, and didnât explain--â Y/N cut him off.Â
âSpencer, I am fine,â she said with a reassuring smile.
âOh, okay good,â he said with a sigh of relief.Â
âSpencer, I want you to meet someone, this is Dr. London Ryan, London this is Dr. Spencer Reid,â Y/N said introducing the two.Â
âLondon? As in your best friend London?â Spencer asked.Â
âHi, Dr. Reid itâs nice to meet you, Y/N has told me so much about you,â she said, finishing up Y/Nâs last stitch.Â
âLikewise,â he responded smiling at the doctor.Â
âAlright, youâre good to go Y/N, youâll have to have those taken out in a couple of days,â London said before her attention was called away to another doctor.Â
âRyan! Where are my post-ops?â A shorter, African American doctor in darker scrubs asked her as she approached.Â
âI finished them an hour ago, Dr. Bailey, they should be in the chart,â she told the doctor.Â
âLondon, I have to go, thank you so much, I will take care of my arm I promise,â Y/N said getting up from the bed.Â
âWhoa, you canât just get up like that and go she has to discharge you,â Dr. Bailey said to Y/N, not wanting her student to be trampled on by a patient.Â
âI have, and she can, sheâs a federal agent, she has to go catch serial killers,â London said to the other doctor.Â
âBring me my post-ops,â Dr. Bailey said, pointing his finger at her before walking away.Â
âIt was nice to meet you, London,â Spencer said and JJ agreed, before Y/N and London hugged, and the three agents left.Â
----------Â
âI will never understand this teacher-lover thing, I can barely deal with a grown man,â JJ said as her, Spencer, Y/N, Rossi, and Penelope walked towards the elevator of the office building.Â
âWhatâs interesting is if it had been a male teacher and a female student, heâd have gotten 20 years and none of this wouldnât have happened,â Rossi said.Â
âShe could get life plus 20 for all the murders she committed,â Y/N said.
âYou know whatâs funny if she wasnât so pretty, she probably would have never been released in the first place,â Spencer said looking at Y/N beside him.Â
 âWhat?â Penelope said confused.Â
âItâs true, unattractive female predators serve a longer prison sentence than their attractive counterparts,â Spencer explained.
âWow thatâs ridiculous,â Penelope said astonished.Â
 âFor real,â Y/N agreed.
âItâs primal, thereâs a hierarchy to everything. Including sex offenders,â Spencer added.Â
âOkay, well, whoâs ready to get breakfast?â JJ asked, seeing that they had flown in early that morning.Â
âMe,â Y/N said, Spencer and Rossi, giving thumbs up as they began to walk over to the elevator.
âI canât, thereâs something I gotta take care of,â Penelope said noticing Derek coming down the hallway.Â
 âHave fun,â Y/N said knowingly.Â
Penelope smiled at her and walked over to Derek.Â
âWhat is it about?â Spencer asked as Y/N entered the elevator.Â
âOh, Penelope and Kevin, but itâs not my place to tell though, so ask her later,â Y/N answered wanting to respect their privacy.Â
-
Y/N sighed as she entered Spencerâs apartment, the smell of him filling her nose.Â
âSpencer, I really donât have to stay here until I get my stitches out, I will be fine,â she tried to protest, but secretly she wanted to stay.Â
âI donât want you to rip them, or do anything that might get it infected,â Spencer said, taking his coat off then pulling Y/Nâs off of her since her left arm was in a sling.Â
âWould a kiss get it infected?â She asked puckering her lips.Â
Spencer laughed and placed his lips on hers in a sweet kiss. She smiled as he pulled her over to the couch to cuddle.
