I'm still learning how to do digital portraits. Angles, lighting, and shading are all things I need to practice on. For today's portrait, I wanted to do a tribute painting. Many of you may have heard of the passing of Delores O'Riordan, the frontwoman of The Cranberries. I listened to The Cranberries constantly in the 90s. I was still a kid, about 12-13 years old. I borrowed my dad's albums to listen to and just loved the lyrics and unique singing style O'Riordan had. My favourite album, which I call the soundtrack to the beginning of my teenage years, was the 1996 release of "To The Faithful Departed." I got a used copy somewhere.. a flea market I think. The CD didn't have a case, but it never left my CD player so it didn't matter. This album resonated with me as a youth, as I struggled with depression and anxiety. The lyrics of the songs on this particular album spoke to me. Specifically, "Free to Decide." The music world lost a great talent today, and Delores will be missed.
