jon is locked in his library, searching searching searching for answers, an antidote, anything

martin is trying to make himself useful in the infirmary, but he'll do odd jobs for anyone (sometimes people spot him hovering outside jon's door, before he slips away to another task)

tim is desperate to keep morale up but his little brother hasn't been seen for a couple of days now and with the new border restrictions, its been a lot harder to be hopeful that he's coming back

sasha is working hard in the infirmary, using what she can to try and alleviate people's wounds, it doesn't matter that she sometimes stares out the window while putting the bandages on, as if what's out there is more important than what's in here because it seems to be working

In all seriousness though, here's a little hint as to what happens in the revamped TMA AU! This takes place in the third and final act, where Kreek does not have a good time to put it lightly. Becoming a Hunt Avatar without even really knowing that the Hunt exists kind of does that to you.

I’ve seen a couple posts about how The Extinction isn’t a real fear. I know it’s left up in the air on purpose and I’m definitely bias, but I just wanna make a bit of a rebuttal.

what makes you afraid on there?

Is it The Web, the idea that a few rich people (mostly men lets be honest) are controlling our lives while pretending we have as say as we constantly have to pick the lesser of two evils? Is it The Slaughter, the mindless violence and war that has gripped us and turned knives against our neighbors? Is it The Desolation, our planet burning to a crisp through our actions?

Or is it the fear that we are doing this to ourselves

Society is destroying itself and we can only watch. The world is crumbling into ash and we can do nothing about it. Or, we fear we can do nothing about it.

The Extinction, at its core, is the fear of change. Not just the big explosions and nuclear fallout. It’s the fear that the world is changing, that the world you grew up in no longer exists, that you can’t go back to the past because there’s no one there anymore.

And, more importantly, the fear that it’s changing for the worse.

The fear that the world is changing, and maybe it would be better without us in it
