Found this fantastic recent fanvid for "The Way Home" showing all the similarities between Alice & Nick's relationship with that of her grandparents Del & Colton!!! 🥰 I was already seeing some, but this shows so much more and it show's through halfway of season 3. Now that Nick's back on the show too it seems to be hinting there's more to come like a lot of us Alice/Nick shippers have been thinking. It weirdly also reminds me too of how thanks to "Rings of Power" those of us who ship Galadriel & Sauron (Haladriel) now have seen similarities between them and their possible granddaughter Arwen's relationship with Aragorn (there's a theory that's been around since the 1980s that Sauron is the biological father of Galadriel's daughter Celebrian, who is Arwen's mother, and the show made one of Sauron's forms look like Aragorn). So again, seems to suggest "The Way Home" is doing these similarities on purpose, and that like Del & Colton, Alice & Nick might be able to find a way to be together thanks to her family's time travel magic. 😏

The Way Home season two is somehow topping season one. The deep dive into Eliot's trauma??? Introducing a nonbinary character who might be Alice's love interest??? The time travel mystery keeps getting weirder and more complicated??? Where did the fucking horse come from???

It’s been a (mostly) cozy season so far. So we should’ve known the drama was coming — though maybe not this much? The Way Home‘s “Reeling in the Years” digs up pretty much everyone’s past in uncomfortable ways. Some of it is fantastic character work. Some of it deepens the lore. And some of it, well, some of it just gives me a headache!

The Way Home returns January 2nd 2025, I believe on Hallmark+ and then it’ll return to Hallmark Channel later in the year (I don’t really know the difference, I’m in the UK, but I think Hallmark+ is a streaming channel!)

Some Way Home promo stuff. I was a little nervous about this season, but first ep of s3 is fucking amazing.

So much more happened on "The Way Home" last night!!! 😀 Going to put this behind a cut for spoilers but I can't believe we only have 2 episodes left this season and I'm so excited to see what happens. And have a bit of season 4 speculation, which I hope we get good news about a renewal soon.

First, we were finally shown Colton time traveling and then he ended up saving Jacob in that fire and meeting Kat. At this point he has no idea that's his own kids and their time travelers too. Then we also go to see him singing and recording those songs with Alice.

Then the reveal that Casey's name is actually initials K.C. So that likely proves they're not Alice's child but opens to it either being Jacob's or even Kat's. I had that thought last season they might actually be Kat's child from the future, but we don't know who their father is but it's likely Elliot or Thomas.

Then everything with Alice and Nick!!! 😏 This was what surprised me the most in a good way as we got so much in this episode, not just for their ship but each character. Alice and Noah broke up thankfully and I don't think this thing with Max is going that far either besides them becoming friends. Then Nick had a wonderful scene with Del and them bonding over loving time travelers and how it's changed their lives. Then the fishhook bracelet scene as I thought Nick was just going to give it back to Alice, but no he ended up giving her some great advice about choosing her own destiny and that her future will be fine. He seemed so certain about it too and seems to add even more to the theory that Claire is adult Alice, which has been around since season 1, and that Nick now knows Claire is future Alice and guiding present Alice to the next part of her life.

Then Alice admitting she wants to go back to 1999 but the pond won't let her, not just for what she had with Nick but to see Colton and her family and friends again. Then the show played Alice and Nick's theme from the score, which seems to be a big hint that it's foreshadowing Alice will be going back there. It makes sense to do that in season 4 now that they need more answers from Colton about being a time traveler. Seeing that young Colton and Alice were friends too in the 70s also helps if she goes back to the 90s/early 2000s to get these answers from them and explore him then knowing his kids and granddaughter are like him too. Then with Nick, Alice gets more time with him too back then and there are gap years we didn't get to see yet either.

So lots more to come and we better get a 4th season to see it. 😀
