arcane weapon wednesday 😋

leonie's got a skajllion different bows and skills bc of course i'm gonna spoil my favouritest girl! but man i'm SO lucky i pulled multiple linde-sara duos while trying for khadein nino, bc in my excitement i totally messed up when inheriting remote sparrow and def/res smoke and forgot to pre-inherit a regular def or res smoke so she could learn the highest level of each, so she ended up with remote sparrow and... regular res smoke 3. so i had to chomp a second linde-sara, so now she has surge sparrow AND def/res smoke AND the Very Useful For Her spd/res far trace.

took a while to decide who to pass ganglot's skills to, but i think echidna was the best fit to take advantage of all four inheritable skills (quick riposte 4 is a bit redundant with her high spd but eh, more damage reduction) and i badly needed a good fe6 unit for limited hero and resonant battles lol. who am i to pass up an excuse to finally +10 and more frequently use a hottie like her even if she's a character whose game i've not actually played.

and yayyy now vanessa! they added this latest rearmed right after the fe8 banner specifically for her, obviously, and i was able to get her all the max skills thanks to a spare hel and my only jill (which was a painful sacrifice but she was +res and i'd rather wait for a better one to train). still need a few more merges and the SP to also learn atk/spd push 4 as an alternate to distant counter before she is truly unstoppable but heeheehee

also MAN i need to be better at playing arena assault more consistently bc i am so refining stones broke and i still need to upgrade echidna's and vanessa's weapons. i could drown in divine dew but regular stones? nope

the leonie lover has LOGGED ON and while my initial reaction was D: her new look has grown on me! i saw a tweet about it looking kinda like m!byleth's haircut which is very cute, and it's also got some joan of arc vibes + ghibli floof. and ngl, it always pisses me off when i see people say stuff about liking timeskip leonie "because she looks softer / more feminine / more approachable than her punchable school phase look" so i'm feeling some petty satisfaction out of this leonie perhaps driving those people away once again (yes i am gatekeeping her). i do kinda wish that her outfit incorporated more of the darker reddish-orange of her original timeskip outfit for some more texture, but on the flipside i also like the simple no-nonsense look, so it's all good, overall i am satisfied 🧡

i worked all day so no time to doodle anything but at the very least i can spoil my darling deerest with the spare midori i pulled yesterday and a festive felix from grails and a bazillion dragonflowers i just grinded out, and y’know what, i might even dig into my combat manuals to also give her the cocobow and/or fishie bow and bernie's skillset after all so she can be the master of both the defensive AND offensive phase, because she’s worth it 😌

down to the wire as always, my @nagamas gift for @gay-rock-lee!! you have exceptional taste and all your prompts were fabulous, but i simply couldn’t resist some good good claude-leonie friendship, their supports are some of my favourites. even five years later, our leader of the alliance still isn’t above helping out with the dishes, though his trusted pal leonie might point out that he has yet to quite master not dripping on himself. anyway, i hope that you enjoyed some happy holidays and that you have a bright year ahead of you!

why yes, i DID +10 leonie the instant she became available via grails 😋 only thing is i’m not really sure what to do with her skills? part of me wants to give her bernadetta’s atk/spd push 4 + lull spd/def 3 and a different-but-still-thematically-appropriate bow (fishie bow? cocobow? reindeer bow?) that’d work better with it, but her sunflower bow is just too cute 🥺

i really like summer leonies design (that bow is so cute too) but its still very jarring for me to see because i keep forgetting that fire emblem doesnt believe in women having muscle mass 😓
