He didn't mind, for the record.

Somewhere along the line, there was an unspoken understanding between them; he didn't quite know when it happened, as gradually as it came. Decker belonged to him, and he belonged to Decker, at some point, and that was just how it was, and it felt odd to consider a life without the constant company of the other in the home they now shared.

They both knew Decker had no reason for jealousy. Kurjak had never been approachable to begin with. But it seemed the hostile vampire he'd slain had taken an interest in him, insistent and flirtatious, but ultimately dealt with in the end.

Kurjak earned his coin. He was, naturally, glad to be back.

He chuckled.

"This may be true ..." He supposed he smelled like the undead, like fetid blood, like a vampire that leaned far too close into his space, challenging and coaxing. "Shower with me, then, Zvijer."

It was just another unspoken thing between them.

All the development and progress in their relationship… And they still did not bother to talk about certain things. Simply settling into something and having a mutual, silent understanding of what they expected of each other. It was similar to how their relationship had progressed, anyway. Maybe the fact that they both seemed to be the type of people who avoided any conversation about feelings had an influence on that.

But, to be honest, they were more talkative with each other.

The wolf continued to nose, gently, along the hunter’s jaw before pressing a soft kiss there. Decker wouldn’t think about the fact that, for the most part, it seemed to be the werewolf side of his brain prompting the action. Maybe the more animalistic part of his brain thought he could merely overpower the scent of the vampire.

Gaze flickered toward Kurjak’s face at the sound of his chuckle.

“It’s not the worst that you’ve smelled.” To be fair, the smell of vampire on Kurjak was a pretty close second to the worst smell. “I think you just want me in the shower with you.”
