Simulant (2023) [__] Skitnödig modern SF som är mer drama än SF. Slutet listar man ut under första halvan av filmen.

Skriket från Afrika / Africa Screams (1949) [👎📺] Gapig. Tunn plott. Väldigt beroende på att man finner slapstick-skämten roliga.

UFO Sweden (2022) [👍] Definitivt en av de bästa filmerna jag sett denna månad. Ibland är det bra när internet ligger nere och man måste söka igenom högen osedda DVD:n.

Where Angels Go Trouble Follows! (1968) [📺] Inte en helt oäven komedi. Är en uppföljare på en film jag inte sett, men skulle kunna tänka mig se.

Åh, en sån deckare! / My Favorite Brunette (1947) [👎] Jag vet inte om det skall vara en noir-deckar-parodi. Varken rolig, underhållande eller spännande.

Jag har sett SVENSK FILM! Som är bra!

Observera att jag förutom rekord i "tumme ned"-betyg även delar ut två varningar denna månad. Det är av en anledning gott folk.

I watched season 3 of The Mandalorian again and I still don't understand why there are people who speak so badly about chapter 6 (plazir15) Because of course it is a reference to the Clone Wars style; but also re-watching Blade Runner with Harrison Ford; It is a particular tribute to him. Especially in the scenarios, in the way Din and Bo are investigating the droids, (if you remember in Blade Runner, Deckar investigates and searches for the replicants in rebellion)

Here in The Mandalorian, those rebelled replicants were both the droids and the last separatists in existence.

The fact that "lust alley" had that cyberpunk Blade Runner feel; the bar with that particular name (La Resistencia) and that romance between a replica and someone human, "a romance that cannot be" It seems like a unique tribute to me and that many people who claim to be knowledgeable and who only talk trash about this episode, is because in reality they are pure uneducated people who have never seen Harrison's tremendous gem and who only criticize the episode because of Lizzo (Not that I I like that girl, but she did her job and that's it)

I can definitely appeal to the fact that this chapter had many references to cinema and the most famous and iconic cult series.

And it is really appreciated that Bryce Dallas is so knowledgeable and has been inspired by this material to achieve something unique.

There are also moments where I feel like I'm watching Secret Files x; one of my favorite retro series. I love her so much!!!

And I love that Din and Bo are the Mulder and Scully type couple. They definitely are; It can be noticed from a distance and even more so if you know the series and the characters.

Hopefully in The Mandalorian and Grogu movie we have at least one special moment between Din, Bo and Grogu. A Mulder and scully moment between Din and Bo. It would be great.

I honestly don't know if any of you love AUs as much as i do. I love to try favorite pairing in different situations and places. I have thousands of ideas.

Too bad I'm suck at writing. But I figured it was worth a shot to write thrm down anyway.

I keep thinking about DinCobb Equilibrium AU. World controlled by Empire ruled by mysterious Emperror and his right hand Vice-Counsel Moff Gideon. Art in all forms is outlaw, emotions are illegal and restricted with drag called Prosium. A psychoactive drug Prozium II should be self-administered by all citizens to prevent this cause of human violence and hatred against each other.

Naturally, alongside erasing anger, fear, and sadness, it wipes away happiness and compassion. People become incapable of love or friendship. The only aim of their lives is blind servitude to the state. By claiming to end wars, the regime declares war on its people and their human nature. People experienced emotions called Sense Offenders and deckared are outlaw.

Din is a highly trained Mandalorian - a member of the special division of clad head to toe in armor Grammaton Clerics and ruthless bounty hunters, who haunts Sense Offenders. One day, he gets an order to find and retrieve a particular target - little boy with big broun eyes and rare gift of empathy. Boy can wake feelings in others even through drag blockade. Din and kid experience deep emotional episodes.

Din found a boy, brought him to a research facility as ordered, and got rewarded. He gets back to his quarters and keep dreaming about his parents' death - they were Senes Offenders and lived in the Nether. Parents were killed by Clerics raid, Din was only a child, so he was taken and raised in a monastery as a warrior and later became a Mandalorian.

Din couldn’t get a hold of his feelings even taking Prosium as usual. Next day he enquiries about a child and finds about execution order. Procedure is assigned for midnight.

At dawn Din break in research facility where child is held. He disarms or kills guards and breaks free with an unconscious child. They escapes through a sity wall to the Nether. Knowing that the whole devision of Mandalorians and Clerics would haunt them, Din aims to deep desert despite lack of provision and Prosium.

Delirious from dehydration and suffering from drag withdrawal, Din stumbles and falls unconscious on the edge of a ruined town. There is where Cobb finds him. Cobb is a self-appointed Marshall of hidden on ruins little town populated with escaped Sense Offenders and theirs free-born kids. Cobb nurses Din through Prosium without, takes care of kid and slowly falls in love with Din. Din is inexperienced with any emotions, with Marshall's help discovered whole new world. At some point, Din loses his armor..

But eventually, Mandalorians tracks down Din and a kid and discovers Freetown..

not exactly sure how to start this blog lmao - but since this is a langblr, i'll just kick it off with an introduction of my progress with each language i'm currently learning. (mostly leaving english and german out of it for now, because those are my native languages, but i speak those as well ofc)

français /// french

on commence avec le français! une de mes langues préferées et définitivement la langue étrangère que je parle le mieux. je l'apprends depuis environ 7 ans maintenant. à cause d'un voyage en france avec ma famille et d'un guide de la langue que j'avais trouvé dans un magasin, j'ai commencé à apprendre indépendamment quand je n'avais que neuf ou dix ans, mais le début de mes études du français dans un context scolaire - ça veut dire, d'une manière plus structurée mdr - suivait bientôt après cela. maintenant, je pense qu'on peut dire que je parle le français couramment. pas dans le sens qu'on pourrait me confondre avec une locuteuse native, mais je peux me débrouiller dans toutes sortes de situations presque aussi bien que dans mes langues maternelles. comme but, je veux maintenir un niveau assez bien pour (1) passer mon examen oral de l'Abitur (bac) en français avec la meilleure note possible et (2) étudier les sciences de la littérature en france après l'école.

Hej allihoppa, trevligt att träffas! Jag kan inte säga precis när jag började lära mig svenska - jag började att intresserar mig för språket för 3-4 år sedan, men jag pluggade (?) inte verkligen aktivt förrän våren detta år. Tidigare kunde jag bara säga några små fraser, men jag kunde inte uttrycka mig på svenska. Jag tror att jag [made a lot of progress?] sedan dess. Jag älskar särskilt ljudet av svenska språket, det är väldigt melodiskt och unikt. Mitt [long-term?] mål är att tala flytande svenska. Just nu vill jag:

Läsa en hel roman på svenska för första gången ("I ljuset från gryningen", en deckare som jag köpte för två dagar sedan)

Lära mig nya ord

Bli mer självsäker när jag pratar svenska ([unfortunately?] känner jag inga människor från Sverige, men jag har en vän som läser språket också. Han är nästa flytande och vi pratar ibland på svenska med varandra, men trots att jag förstår nästan allt vad han säger är jag osäker att min uttal är för dålig att förstå när jag säger någonting själv 😅 så jag behöver mer övning med att tala)

farsi (persian) and gaeilge (irish gaelic)

i'm lumping these two into one part (written in english) because i'm not sufficiently fluent in either language to be able to write a full text, lmao

i technically started learning persian about a year ago, but since i keep getting interrupted because of things like having to do too much schoolwork, i'm still at a very low level. i also feel like it's more difficult than learning swedish, for example, because it's from a different language family than any of the languages i speak rn - less loanwords, words related to each other, structural similarities etc. that would help me understand! at least i mostly know the alphabet now, but practically i'm only able to say a few simple things: hello, good morning, how are you etc. however, it's a really interesting language and i'd love to get into actively studying it again! my next goal is to reach A1 level in reading, writing, listening and speaking... let's see how that goes ^^

also, if anyone knows any good resources for learning farsi, please let me know! i'm currently using a combination of a textbook directed at german speakers (called با هم), the Persian course on Memrise and the youtube channels Chai & Conversation and Persian Learning, but it's a bit difficult to find learning materials... (i'm salty that duolingo doesn't have it lmfao)

as for irish gaelic, i (hyper)focused on it for a couple of months in 2021, in particular because part of my family is irish - nobody taught me the language and i'm not really close with my paternal relatives, but i'm still interested in it because... heritage reasons, y'know. also, there are so many fascinating aspects of the language - unique little grammar quirks, pronunciation, all that! i kind of stopped practicing though because i had too little time, so now i just remember random little phrases i learnt off duolingo: dia duit, comhghairdeas (i'm proud of remembering how to spell it lol), ithim cáis (an extremely useful sentence in daily life, i know)...

right now, i don't anticipate irish being a major focus of this blog, but i'm going to dublin in two days (aaaa!!!) and maybe that'll reactivate my slight obsession with the language, so who knows...

about me

i love everything related to languages - obviously foreign languages, but also things like linguistics and literature... i also write a lot in my free time!

on the rare occasions where i'm not doing anything language-related, i'm also very interested in chemistry. i like listening to music (i mean, who doesn't) & my favourite genres are rock, indie and melodic death metal - but i'll listen to almost anything, especially if it's in one of my target languages (really into swedish and persian pop rn). i enjoy hiking and cycling, and i've been learning how to dance for about a year.

i'm really looking forward to getting to know other people in the langblr community and exchanging ideas, progress, tips for learning... on y va :D

Transformers: Honor and Loyalty [Prologue]

So this story idea is not mine. It comes from a friend on TikTok, Deckar Terdax. He came up with this plot, pitched as a movie concept in a slideshow on TikTok, and I liked it a lot! I asked if I could write the idea as a fanfiction and Deckar said I could, so here we go!

Deckar also came up with the title and created the cover picture!

This is the story of Deadlock becoming an Autobot and how he settled on Earth.

Deadlock ducks behind a decrepit wreck in the shipyard, gritting his teeth as he prepares to take out the Decepticon guard nearby.

He had been slowly realizing how tyrannical and oppressive the Decepticon cause is, but his sense of honor had demanded loyalty, so he had bitten his tongue and done as ordered as the war continued to wreak havoc on the planet.

His loyalty had begun to slowly come into question, however, after Optimus Prime had been forced to eject the Allspark to keep it from Megatron's hands. He had then led a mass exodus with as many Autobots as he could find ships for, leaving some of his troops behind to carry on the battle.

Deadlock had at first been angry at the Prime, thinking him a coward for dooming their planet and running away, but then he came to realize the extent of the damages done to Cybertron throughout the war and that Megatron had been the one to drive Optimus to that extreme.

Deadlock saw that Megatron was blinded by his hatred of the Prime, beating or executing any who dared question him or his pursuit of Optimus.

Things grew worse on Cybertron without the Allspark, but the few Autobots left on the dying planet bravely fought on despite overwhelming odds.

Deadlock grew to admire their courage and their valiant struggle to save their planet, hoping the Allspark could be restored to Cybertron before the planet completely died.

Then he and a team of Vehicons were ordered to take out a ship full of Autobots that were escaping Cybertron.

He could not carry out the order, but the troopers had seen no issue with the heartless and cruel command.

Deadlock had gone ahead to scout out the ship, which had been caught before they'd even left the atmosphere, and when he saw the desperate refugees huddled in fear he could not bring his Spark to harm any of them, so he lied to the team, going so far as to say he had eliminated the crew aboard.

The team had been impressed at the alleged show of brutality and returned to their ship, but Deadlock had hesitated, talking briefly with the leader on the ship, a Wrecker he didn't recognize.

Deadlock agreed to help them reach their destination, even pointing out a better route for them.

Then a Vehicon came back aboard and saw Deadlock talking to the Wrecker, and the refugees behind them.

Deadlock had been forced to kill the trooper there and then, feeling for the first time a flicker of disgust with the Decepticons in his Spark. If they were willing to slaughter refugees, they did not have any honor.

After lying that the trooper had been killed in a surprise attack by a survivor to the other troopers on the ship, Deadlock had to assess his loyalties.

He had killed one of his own side in defense of Autobots.

He took a long look at himself in the reflection of his ship's cockpit.

What he had done was the right thing, he felt it in his Spark. How could he kill innocent refugees?

But killing the trooper was dishonorable to the Decepticons and would be seen as treason if it were discovered.

He had covered his actions as best he could and hoped his deceptions were accepted as truth. It was too late to do anything else.

As the cycles went on and nothing came of the incident, Deadlock grew increasingly conflicted. The Decepticons had repeatedly shown dishonor in their actions, but because he had sworn allegiance to them, he felt stuck.

Defecting felt like a betrayal, but more and more of his orders made him see just how dishonorable the Decepticon cause is.

The breaking point occurred when there came a new order, pairing him with Bludgeon (who Deadlock considered a brother. They had joined the Decepticons together, even).

Spies had discovered a small refugee camp and Megatron ordered it to be cleared out with no survivors.

Deadlock recoiled, but his sense of duty would not let him protest in front of Megatron, so he kept it to himself until he and Bludgeon were en route to the camp.

"Why should we kill innocents?" Deadlock asks, frowning. "It is dishonorable."

Bludgeon, surprisingly, scoffed. "There are no innocents when it comes to Autobots, Deadlock. You know that."

Deadlock shakes his head. "They are merely trying to survive. They have done nothing to deserve such a fate." He insists.

"Way I look at it, any Autobot is an enemy, and enemies should be eliminated with extreme prejudice." Bludgeon retorts, frowning at him, the tension rising.

Deadlock knows he'd likely be reported to the Decepticon Justice Department if he continues protesting against killing Autobots, so he holds back anything else he wanted to say and when they arrive, he says he will monitor the perimeter and ensure none escape.

But what he really did is watch in horror as his friend slaughtered everyone in the few buildings that made up the camp.

Bludgeon had a grin on his face the entire time, which made Deadlock shudder.

The vicious attack was over soon, and to make his story believable, Deadlock moved further from their transport and spun on his heel to start walking back as Bludgeon arrived, his swords dripping with Energon.

Splatters of the glowing blue liquid covered Bludgeon, making him look barbaric.

"You make sure we got all of them?" Bludgeon asks casually, almost making Deadlock's Energon pump reject its Energon.

How could he talk about slaughter so casually? Does he have no sense of honor at all?

Deadlock could do nothing but nod and head into the transport.

His mind was reeling from what he had seen. He had never once seen that side of Bludgeon. Certainly, Bludgeon had been the more aggressive of the two, typically speaking, but Deadlock had never thought his closest friend and brother capable of such a brutal attack on unarmed refugees. This threw their relationship into a whole new light. Could he still call Bludgeon a brother? Deadlock shifts uncomfortably, staring sightlessly out the window.

His mind was whirling and Spark flared in outrage at the loss of innocent life, at the way he had simply stood by, DJD or no DJD.

He knew it had been dishonorable to allow that terrible slaughter, but the thought of being hunted and perhaps tortured by the DJD was too terrifying for him to commit to preventing the slaughter.

Deadlock resolved there and then that he will never stand by again.

He could also no longer deny that the Decepticons he'd thought on the right side of this conflict would continue to spread cruelty, fear, and tyranny throughout the galaxy.

He had no choice but to defect. He understood that clearly now.

To that end, he makes up his mind that, upon his return, he would gather whatever intelligence he deemed valuable (in the hopes the intel would convince the Autobots to allow him to join their side) and then seek out a long-distance escape pod to take him to Earth, where he'd find the Prime and officially join the Autobots.

Now, after finding intelligence he knew Optimus would find extremely valuable, downloading it and hiding the data cylinder, he had snuck into the shipyard, where a few guards had spotted him, but had quickly been disposed of before an alarm could be raised.

However, it hadn't taken long for the other guards to see the bodies, and now he was being hunted.

This will not stop me. Deadlock thinks cooly, turning the tables on his opponents and eliminating them one by one as he searches for a pod.

He soon has only one final opponent, cornered against a mostly functional ship.

"Traitor!" The guard yells, blasting at him, but Deadlock grits his teeth, dodging the blasts as he races forward, stabbing the unfortunate guard directly in the Spark Chamber.

Deadlock watches as the life seeps from the guard. "May you all find peace with Primus upon your return to the Allspark." He bows briefly in the general direction of his victims, acknowledging he had taken lives precious to Primus, before sheathing his sword and climbing into the ship.

There! At last, an operational long-distance escape pod!

He programs it for Earth and settles in for the long flight as the pod's thrusters ignite and start its journey.

He reaches out on any Autobot frequency he can find to let the Autobots know he had stolen valuable intelligence to give to Optimus, and that he is defecting and joining their side.

"This is Decepticon Deadlock. I am trying to reach Optimus Prime."

Barnen i Bullerbyn - TASTE först och främst. Du gillade den idylliska barndomen som de verkade ha och önskade du kunde växa upp så med. Skulle inte förvåna mig om du lekte samma lekar som de gjorde. Om du bodde på landet låtsades du definitivt att du var dem, och bodde du i stan så påmindes du om Bullerbyn varje gång du såg så mycket som en hage.

Rasmus på luffen - Du romantiserade att rymma hemifrån mycket känner jag, kanske rent utav lekte att du bodde på barnhem och flydde för att bli luffare

Bröderna Lejonhjärta - Du gillar rollspel nu, va? /hj Men annars så kanske du i allmänt är ett fantasy fan. Och gillar historier om bröder.

Ronja Rövardotter - Du gillade idéen att få springa runt i en skog, leva rövare och att leva i en borg på medeltiden i allmänhet. Du har byggt så många kojor i skogen som du ska "bo" i, att det inte går att räkna.

Mio min Mio - DU GILLAR ROLLSPEL NU VA Okej nej men... du gillar fantasy absolut, men du gillar också historier med "den utvalde" som ska rädda dagen. Idk helt ärligt har jag inte mycket idéer för Mio min Mio

Nils Karlsson Pyssling - Du gillade idéen att vara liten som en pyssling och kunna bada i en kaffekopp och kunna interagera med objekt på ett annat sätt än när du är normalstor. Det ser ju så mysigt ut!

Allrakäraste syster - Låt mig gissa, du hade låtsaskompisar som barn. Också, du gillade eskapismen i det hela, en tjej som flyr från sitt vanliga liv ner till en magisk plats.

Kalle Blomkvist - Du lekte röda-vita rosen jättemycket som liten. Också, du gillar deckare väldigt mycket i allmänhet.

Lotta på Bråkmakargatan - Du är yngsta barnet och du behövde en rollfigur som kunde relatera till dina yngsta barn-struggles.

Kajsa Kavat- Du kanske bara gillar i allmänhet historier som små barn som hjälper gamla ig (förlåt jag själv har verkligen lite koll på Kajsa Kavat)

Någon av Astrid Lindgrens många noveller (obs jag vet att vissa av dessa tekniskt sätt är noveller redan men shh) - Du gillar det underskattade, det som inte folk snackar om lika mycket. Du går säkert runt och bara "Men har ni hört om DENNA då, den vet inte många om faktiskt!"

Någon berättelse som jag har glömt - Förlåt. Den här tanten har typ 100 böcker. Mitt dömande av dig som är i denna kategori är att att du är "MEN HALLÅ!!!! DU GLÖMDE FAKTISKT DENNA! VART ÄR DENNA?!??!"

Också, jag kom verkligen inte på något för Peter och Petra för det skulle typ vara samma förklaring som varför du gillar Nils Karlsson Pyssling. Sen var det några jag inte glömde, jag bara kom verkligen inte på något alls, som Gullpian och Märit exempelvis.

Iallafall... det här var typ svårare än vad jag trodde, speciellt då jag vet mindre om vissa än om andra, så ta inte detta för seriöst. Och håller ni verkligen inte med mig så ja, gör er egen lol.
