care to join me for a bit ? [ geto @ ryo ]
HESITAITON and wariness was evident in her eyes the moment he spoke. Even if she was relieved to see Geto alive and well in front of her, Ryo felt there could be something behind it, or something within her father figure that changed drastically. Ever since that one particular horrific event that might have split them up for years, Ryo had been wondering why would Geto do such a thing, given how he was considered an ally to the sorcery world (or so she thought). Perhaps she was too naive to understand the whole situation, or she did not really see the bigger picture of the entire situation back then.
THE fact they have crossed paths out of nowhere and finally reunited after years, Ryo was unsure if she wanted to join Geto with whatever he wanted. But then again, maybe she could try and talk to him, in hopes of getting on his good side like before.
WITH a cautious step forward, the summoner gulped and took a deep breath in, before she exhaled through her mouth faintly. "What are you planning, tou-san?"

yuuta exhibits such previously abandoned, recently adopted dog behavior. incredibly anxious all the time, even though nobody’s out to get him or leave him behind. waits for you to return home or from school or from work excitedly, just to see you when you walk through the door. follows you around senselessly, hovering in your space just for the sake of companionship. initiates affection in prodding ways—starts off next to you, then a hand on your thigh, then deems it safe to lay all the way down, then slowly pushes his head into your lap. gets up whenever you need to get up, and resumes his position as soon as you’re ready. brings you gifts as a sign that he’s thinking of you, and maybe because he likes the affection it brings out in you, maybe because he likes the gentle affirming touches of a hand in his hair or a pinch to his cheek. rests his head on your stomach or his chin on your shoulder when he’s sleepy, stays there, immobile, and will not move unless absolutely necessary. sometimes he gets surprised when he hears you calling for him, there’s a moment of disbelief as he thinks “me? really? you need me?” but it’s very quickly overshadowed by this compulsive need to show up, to please, to do anything for you, which is why he always answers when you call. he doesn’t realize that he has puppygod eyes, especially when he’s excited or confused, but he does and it’s incredible endearing. very reluctant to share your space or attention after a while, considers that to be sacred and he won’t risk being let go or lost again, so as a safety precaution, he keeps himself right by you, waits for you always.

If you think either or both of these fights were okay or good, go ahead and vote, too! I'd love to hear thoughts on these battles--this is strictly about which was worse overall. Not which you disliked more, but about the quality of the fights. I've got a lot of thoughts on both. Probably won't be able to provide an analysis with screenshots until I get a day off again, though.
#Jujutsu Kaisen#JJK#Spoilers#Jujutsu Kaisen Spoilers#JJK Spoilers#JJK Manga Spoilers#Almost forgot to tag:#JJK 236#Not tagging any characters for this. This post isn't critical of any of the characters. Just the fights.#Polls#Jujutsu Kaisen Polls#JJK Polls#I'm curious on thoughts about how these fights were handled. My experiences as someone versed in Battle Shōnen and action scenes (1/2)#(2/2) may cause me to view fights completely differently.#My opinion is that both fights suck and do massive disservices to almost every character involved.#But it mainly comes down to things like composition; action flow; the crafting of tense situations in battle and resolutions.#Air out your grievances! Or your lack of them. But decide: which fight is worse?#Might post a version with a longer time later.

when it comes to my jjk verses , vash is still as old as he is in canon - roughly 150 years old. So that leads me to believe he’s the kind of guy sorcerers would grow up hearing stories about.
#ooc.#is a legend? you decide that for urself#but do I SEE him being considered a legend?#yes absolutely#it rlly just depends on how your muse#feels about him#I can’t make that decision#anyways I love my jjk verse#both of them

“What the fuck is this?” Sukuna drawled, an intense fury simmering through his being. His gaze couldn't tear free from you, not even to size up the blindfolded weirdo watching him intently.
He shattered the coffin, freeing you from the makeshift cursed bath some freak had forced you into. He smoothed damp hair from your sickly face and searched for sparks of life somewhere in the cold stillness that'd overtaken you. And there was something. He found it, a little glimmer of vitality in the smallest, shakiest inhale.
“Good,” he praised, brushing your hair back more and more to get a better look at your face. You looked like the frail little thing he saved all those decades ago.
“You know,” Gojo interrupted, but Sukuna paid him no mind, “If I didn't know any better, I'd think you actually cared about that kitsune.”
“Then you don't know what this is,” Sukuna decided blandly. “Figures.” Kenjaku kept him off the record, huh? Guess that's a bonus.
“Oh? Do you wanna enlighten me before Yuuji comes back?” Gojo smiled, as if he really expected Sukuna to play nice and be honest with him. “Come on, come on, it's your chance to be vulnerable~”
“Tch. Pretty damn sure the fox'll be the one to tell you.” His hand smoothed over your stomach and rubbed slow, gentle circles against your skin as reverse technique sought to bring you all back to him. “He yaps about as much as your insufferable ass does. Granted, he talks a lot nicer.”
“Wow, rude.” Gojo sighed and clapped twice as if clapping on a light. “Okay! I've had enough bullying. Yuuji–”
“Brat, don't you fucking dare–”
Yuuji inhaled sharply. He blinked owlishly at your calmed expression, your eyes now closed and breathing now steadied thanks to Sukuna's aid.
Aid. That wasn't something the king did.
“Sensei,” Yuuji managed, voice quivering under the weight of memories’ emotion. “Can you fix this?”
Somehow, you were stuck in the throes of flirtation with the malevolent king of curses.
“It may be courtship,” Uraume guessed, soft smile brightening their cold exterior.
(They'd been smiling more recently, actually, ever since you completed that overcoat and presented it to them. Nary a day went by when they did not don the sentimental garb.)
But you weren't so sure; the event of courtship was serious business across all lucid creatures. Animals and creatures of primal existence sought out partners with favorable genes and strong constitution, whereas humans and the like yearned for merit or love in their coupling. You didn't quite grasp the way humans thought. Not yet.
Well, save for flirting. You decided it was a sort of pre-courtship where nothing became serious and nothing was on the line, but frivolous touches and haughty words of praise ran rampant when those concerned crossed paths.
Much like today.
(Much like the days before and after.)
You walked along the stone-paved path most mornings, lost in thoughts and mumbling to yourself bits and pieces of poems. Most were unfinished, but in their own time, verses would find one another and complete the incomplete.
A groggy yawn hummed from the palace entrance. And moments later, Ryoumen Sukuna fell into step with you, grumbling and mumbling complaints about the nippy Spring morning while he tucked his arms away into his sleeves.
He followed you, idly looking around the expansive space you'd helped curate and maintain when you weren't busying yourself with the girls or decorating clothing. The gardens weren't a mess before, not at all, but now they had a certain taste–trees and flowers were planted with specificity, stones were moved, paths reworked. You took the outside over completely. The king didn't mind.
“Sukuna-sama,” you said, voice melting in kind with the morning frost. “I'll need to leave for a short while.”
Sukuna quirked a brow and looked at you. You gazed upon the large, thick koi flashing their beautiful scales and ornate patterns of orange and white as they swam and followed you. Tch. How come even the fish were drawn to you?
“And how do you think you'll accomplish that?” Sukuna tossed a rock into the koi pond, making the fish scatter. “Getting away from me isn't something you can do.”
You huffed and looked at him. “I understand. I simply seek your permission.”
“Denied.”
“Ah.” You deadpanned. “Why?”
“You're mine; I decide where you go, how you breathe, if you eat. Or are you forgetting that?”
You sighed and let your ears droop sadly with your tails. “Surely you jest.”
“Are you laughing?”
You whined like a sad, sad street pup before cozying up to him, slipping your hands up his stomach and chest like you were supposed to. “Please?”
“No.”
You chittered and pressed your face against him, but didn't protest and complain much more.
Sukuna’s thoughts whirled. The show was amusing, sure, but you didn't do anything without reason, especially when it had to do with breaking character and acting out like this out of–
Oh?
Sukuna leaned down and sniffed you, searching for the intriguing coil of flowery citrus he nearly missed on the warming breeze. It was so, so faint, but decadent and alluring in a way that made the master of toxins cautious–most poisons tasted sweet, after all.
You pulled your head back, shrinking down the slightest bit with your ears flattened against your skull. Your eyes, wide as a full moon, stared up at him, expectant. The touch of your hands on him never left, though.
“Brassavola nadosa.” Sukuna tilted his head. “You smell like it.”
You blinked curiously, relaxing. “Is that so?”
We don't have that orchid in the garden. Sukuna hummed and lifted a lock of your hair, catching another weak waft of the flower's faint scent.
It's coming from him, then. Hm.
“Tell me again why you want to leave the palace?” Sukuna asked on a hunch.
And that hunch doubled down when you fidgeted with the cloth of his haori and looked aside.
“I wish to bear children," you admitted, shy and quiet. "To try, at the very least. Perhaps find a mate, too.”
Children. You wanted children. After everything those sorcerers put you through for who knows how many years, you still wanted to mother a runt of your own. And you were willing to run off into the wild to, what, let some random man knock you up? Fill you with seed of unknown origin, unknown value, unknown potential?
Sukuna's ego flared. He leaned down to you, tilting your chin up to make you look him in the eyes regardless how small you felt in that moment. He deserved to witness you. You deserved to witness him.
“You're not leaving,” he breathed, and he swore he could hear your heart break. “If you want a brat, you'll get a brat–only if you stay here 'n give up on those shitty thoughts of finding a sire out there.”
Your eyes scanned his face, tracing over serious lines and honest creases. Clearly, you searched for an answer–
“How?”
–one that Sukuna didn’t have. Or maybe he did. Perhaps he just couldn't find the words for it.
He scoffed and ruffled up your hair, unable to answer you. “You're not leaving. Not unless I say so.”
The first time he let you go, he left scars.
He found you in your chambers come early evening. Your tails swished and flicked as you sat amidst a nest of his robes and the missing linens from his chambers while you futzed over the embroidery of another haori, this time adorning the plain thing with the darkest scarlet one could find. Sukuna could already guess why.
Your being burns as wildfires do. Lively. Emphatically. Devouring more and more so long as the earth lets you. Yet where you do not lay ruin, you grant warmth and light in a divine way. Wildfires are not such horrible things if one stays a respectable ways away.
Your poetic nonsense irritated him to no end, but he fell enamored all the same; you spoke to honor him with every utterance of his name. You didn't try to kiss his feet nor did you bask him in compliments–you only spoke into existence that which hummed through your mind, unprovoked. It just so happened to be everything Sukuna liked to hear.
So when he found you secluded away, beckoning so sweetly with intoxicating scents of citrus and gardenia, what choice did he have but to lay claim, to give you the brat you so sorely yearned for?
You sensed him. Your gaze flicked to him, stoic and unmoved as ever, as the energy in the room built into suffocating silence, something like tectonic plates caught in deadlock, holding their disastrous energy, waiting for the right moment to devastate the world with a single, cataclysmic shift.
And of course, it was the impatient predator that moved first, setting a catastrophe into motion.
The hours blurred together.
Every minute of the chase was thrilling, invigorating, surprising–you were filled with tricks and traps, never slowing down for a second to think or doubt as the beast of a sorcerer pursued you through his palace, through the city below, and now into the looming forest in the mountains.
Admittedly, he'd gotten carried away. He lost himself in the rush of it all, the adrenaline and pure, destructive desire pushed his self-control into unraveling just the slightest bit; honest attacks tore through space and time, hoping to maim and cripple you if they were to hit. And, honestly, the way you avoided his attempts to strike you down enthralled him as much as it enraged him–he was seconds away from unleashing his domain until a less-than-satisfying ripple of cursed energy tore across your thigh and put you down.
It was then, walking up to you, to his prey, that Sukuna remembered you weren't a sorcerer. Most would be able to stand and walk it off, maybe even heal with reverse technique, but you could only grasp at your weeping wound and grimace. Because you were not a sorcerer, you were a kitsune: a trickster, a creature full of mischief and void of cursed energy.
Yokai. Not a human. Not a curse. Not like the rest of the boring souls wandering his earth.
Sukuna pinned you the second you tried to make a break for it. Fangs and claws gnashed and tore into him while his hands strained to keep you down and rip those damn clothes free from your burning skin.
Mating's never a pretty thing when it comes to nature. Humans like you made it something more.
Sukuna clasped a hand over your mouth and forced his weight onto you, ripping reedy yowls from your core as you twisted and turned, primal mind urging you to run, run, run, don't make this easy, make him prove his worth–
Rip.
Ribbons of what were once your robes fluttered to the ground, useless and unsalvageable. They were plain black, so unlike what you usually wore. You wouldn't miss them.
“Make this as difficult as you want, pet,” Sukuna whispered as he loomed over you. His hand slid from your mouth to your throat when you stilled.
“You know how this ends.”
His pants were pulled down while another hand wiped slippery blood against your pliant entrance–and that was the only warning you got before he pushed into you.
Where you should have screamed, you instead sighed. Your back arched off the ground like a work of art. Two hands gave up on holding you down in favour of gripping your waist and hips, pulling you closer to him, forcing you flush against his body.
He noticed it then: a litany of old scars and discoloured marks shining against your skin. Marks left by those who did not deserve to taste such a delicacy.
Unsightly.
Blood painted the grass. Cleaves and slashes ate away at those tainted scars, painting over the ugliness left hidden for too long–now, his marks would decorate you. Now, those hidden scars would mean something. They’d mean everything.
Yet Sukuna's selfish maiming wasn't fitting the bill, and your antsy-ness was proof of it. You tried for the last time to pull from him, but his grip tightened around your throat. You gazed at him, then, eyes so wide and hungry, eager to fight or fuck–whichever came first.
He braced over you and nearly winced as he dragged out of your suffocating heat. A sharp snap back inside loosened you, the glide of blood and slick aiding him.
“I'll take you the way you need it,” he drawled as he built the pace quickly, already feeling his own obsession and excitement reverberating through his body, filling every fibre of muscle with electricity.
“Then,” he growled, leaning closer to your face. “I'll fuck you the way you want it.”
“More,” you sighed, digging your nails into the pillow you had your face buried in while the beast fucked you from behind. Sukuna groaned in compliance and lanced into your guts deeper, harder, faster than before–you were the only one that could handle the brutal way he let loose, and he was more than willing to indulge in that privilege.
The hands all over you rose to the occasion, too; one had your tails fisted in his ruthless grasp, rudely holding you still and pulling you back against his hips; another rested on the curve of your ass, only moving to give a sharp slap or to knead your soft, perfect skin; the last two held your hips in a crushing force, his calloused fingers digging into your plush sides and sharp hip bones like you might disappear at any second.
A sharp, sweet whine signaled the beginning of the end, as did the restless fidgeting and shifting in the king's grasp. Seeing you, a poised, powerful, mischievous being, come undone beneath him came to be one of Sukuna’s favourite sights, especially knowing it could only be because of him--only him.
He leaned over you, his heavy chest pressing into your back as one hand released your waist in favour of fisting in your hair and tugging your head back and out of the futon you so desperately clung to.
“Ah-ah,” he scolded breathily. “No hiding.” It was a familiar sentiment, one he had no problem reminding you of now and again. You had a horrible habit of trying to vanish when overwhelmed, after all.
“Terrible beast,” you snapped back, scoffing indignantly when the deep bassy laugh of the man rolled through your body. “Horrible.”
“You love it,” Sukuna growled back, grinning through every word.
Something about it clearly struck a chord with you, judging by how fast you choked on your voice and came undone, legs trembling and body tightening around the too-big intrusion. The king groaned and bit at your neck, licking whatever blood beaded at the surface in between rushed, hushed words of praise for you and your efforts–most, if they heard the things he said, would call it out of character for the beast. Most didn't get to see beyond his raw power and crippling cruelty, however.
Sukuna grunted and spilled inside you, pulling you back by your hair, hips and tail to ensure he forced every bit of his offerings deep into your core. Your body rocked and twitched against his, accepting all he had to offer you at the end of yet another coupling, before he let go of your locks and let you collapse face-first into the futon.
He pulled out slowly, watching as every inch slipped from your abused hole before popping free and uncorking a dribble of whiteness from inside. He tutted and scooped it up with two fingers before stuffing it back in.
“Oi, oi, are you even trying to keep it in?” He teased, smirking as you huffed.
“You've exhausted me. I have no energy to attempt the impossible,” you lamented, nuzzling your nose further into the soft sheets smelling of cedar and fresh blooms–something so uniquely Sukuna.
Your king sighed and gave your ass a firm few pats. “Guess I'll have to spoil you even more.” He settled onto his back and easily pulled you onto him, yanking you up to straddle his waist right where that second mouth laid open and eager to taste you.
“This is uncouth,” you sighed. But you rocked back against the thick, heavy tongue pressing into your pliant heat, licking deep into you with a mind and hunger of its own.
“Seems couth enough for you,” he commented, watching you ride his centre with rapt attention. “Little harlot's getting off on this, hey? Such a needy little brat.”
His hands smoothed up and down your legs and sides as you shamelessly chased a second high. Your hands clasped over his as he took you into his hand and stroked you back to ample stiffness, the soreness of too many rounds of fucking making you far too sensitive to touch.
“S-Sukuna-sama,” you stammered. “I can't–”
Sukuna's head tilted with a pleased smirk. “Ho? I thought you wanted to bear children? Are my offerings not enough for you?”
You scrunched your face up into something of a prissy glare, but the shine clinging to your lashes and the shuddering of your body against his betrayed your crumbling demeanor. Of course, he was impressed with how his fox was fairing considering everything he put you through.
He maneuvered you onto your back, grinning as you growled and weakly struggled against him. You looked perfect–stomach swollen, hair fanned out behind you, eyes teary but unable to tear away from the creature that’d tormented you for hours upon hours with no desire to give you a break.
“Greedy god,” Sukuna lamented. One hand came to rest on your bruised neck again, fitting around so perfectly. “Nothing’s ever fucking good enough for you.”
“You are.”
That gave Sukuna pause. He stared down at you, all eyes looking over you with rapt attention as he tried to think. Tried to understand. Tried to parse those words and uncover what exactly you tried to convey.
But it didn't click.
“Tch. You're lucky I'm a generous god,” he scolded, releasing you from your torment in favour of collapsing down beside you for some much-needed rest. Not only did your beautiful body wear him out (not that he'd admit it), but your whimsical words wore his sanity thin. The worst part was you didn't even intend to damage him so.
“I am truly honoured to merely be in your presence,” Your voice, light and dreamy as petals fluttering, laughed, and Sukuna's soul did something odd.
He stared at the ceiling as you shuffled beside him, quickly returning to his side, donned in one of his haori and determined to make a comfortable nest of blankets and clothes around you both for the rest of the night–ah, morning? Huh. What an ordeal.
You curled up next to him, shoving your back firmly against his side the way you often did when resting as a fox, and Sukuna huffed.
“Turn to me,” he commanded, and you obeyed.
He, too, turned to face you to envelope your lithe form with invincible arms and divine protection. Your soft purrs rolled through him, settling his wild spirit into a lazy tempo of an early morning stroll through a garden filled with one sort of white orchid:
Brassavola nadosa. “Lady of the Night.” Your calling card. Your divine essence.
"Brassavola nodosa (Lady of the Night) is a medium-sized epiphytic or lithophytic orchid species boasting extremely fragrant flowers throughout the year. The blossoms, 4 in. across (10 cm), emit a citrus fragrance at night. Each flower features long, slender, pale green or creamy-white sepals and petals and a large, heart-shaped lip sometimes adorned with purple or dark red spotting." - gardenia.net

Church Boy!Armin as your sneaky link
Since we did JJK men as your sneaky link, we've decide to do the same with AOT!
Warnings: MDNI, swearing, mentions of Christianity, mention of masturbation, unprotected sex, squirting, creampie.
Word Count: 945
________
You had no intentions of ever fucking this man. You’ve known him for years and never once thought of him in that way
Ever since you were younger Armin has been a good boy. Always following the rules and never getting in trouble
In college he started going to church, and before you knew it, he was a goody-two-shoes church boy. He was always trying to convince everyone to go to church with him
He would often send out bible verses, and would even bring his bible to outings with everyone.
You loved Armin, but church wasn’t for you. With your many tattoos and piercings, you felt out of place. So you never went.
Armin would always try and convince you to go, saying things like, “God says come as you are.” and things like that; but like i said, it just wasn't for you.
Out of nowhere, Armin stopped nagging you to go. You thought you were finally off the hook. That is, until he started showing up to your door saying he wanted to have bible study with you.
At first, you repeatedly told him no but eventually gave in. You would sit and listen to him read. Explaining everything to you and then moving on with your day. You thought nothing of it… but Armin? It meant a whole lot to him. Not just because he was so into the bible, but because he was so turned on by you.
He couldn't explain it. The way you sat there and listened, the tattoos on your body, the piercings, the way your lips glistened from the gloss; it was too much for him.
He couldn't understand how he could let himself be provoked to sin, but he couldn't stop.
He started touching himself to the thought of you, he was ashamed but he was so enamored he refused to stop.
One day he came to your house, and as you peaked over his shoulder to read he leaned in to kiss you.
You were beyond shocked.
Armin?? Good boy, church-loving Armin had his tongue in your mouth right now? You couldn’t believe it, but that one kiss lead to him pushing you against the wall and fucking you, and ever since, your bible studies turned into body studies
“y/n, fuck”, he whined as he kissed you
Today the bible didn't even get opened before he pounced on you. He climbed on top of you and started kissing you passionately. His tongue was intertwined with yours. He was grinding his hard dick against your core.
Today you got curious and decided to ask him what he was doing
“Wait Armin”, you said.
He stopped, fearing he did something wrong.
“Is everything okay? Did I do too much?” he questioned, with worry present in his eyes.
“No, you didn't do anything wrong, but… what are we doing? Aren't you super religious? Why do you keep coming over here to have sex with me”, you questioned
He stared at you, shocked by your question, but also feeling guilty.
“I dont know. Y/N you just do something to me”, he said as he moved closer to you.
“Something about you drives me insane. You're like a vixen, I think about you constantly.” He leaned over and started kissing you again.
“If this sends me to hell, so be it.” he said between kisses, “You're my favorite sin.”
Armin started removing your clothes and his kisses trailed down to your neck. He bit on your sweet spot causing you to moan.
He got both of your clothes off and lined his cock up to your cunt. He kissed you passionately before sliding in.
“Fuck- feels so good.” he whispered in your ear.
He pressed his body weight onto you and continuously slammed his hips into yours.
As sweet and fragile as he was, you couldn't lie. Armin had a big dick and knows how to use it.
His tip was hitting your g-spot causing you to moan.
He took one of your legs and lifted it over his shoulder, causing his dick to reach deeper inside you.
“A-armin-” you moaned out.
Hearing you moan his name made him go even harder, bullying his cock deep inside you.
The wet squelching noises were filling the room, and both of your bodies were covered in sweat. The whole time Armin never took his eyes off you.
He was completely enamored by you; the way your eyes glazed over, the way your breasts bounced, the way your mouth looked while you moaned his name, he couldn't get enough of you.
He placed your other leg on his shoulder and pushed your knees to your chest. The new angle caused tears to form in your eyes.
“Right there-fuck I’m gonna cum!” you whined.
Armin picked up the pace.
“Yeah baby, cum for me!” he responded.
He threw his head back from your walls squeezing him, and Armin approached his own high.
“Fuck!” he groaned out.
His thrust got sloppy, and you knew he was close.
“Yeah baby, cum with me!” you said to him.
Your legs shook and your eyes rolled to the back of your head. Your whole body got warm, and your orgasm washed over you.
You came on his dick, soaking his thighs and abdomen, and seconds later you felt his warm seed fill you to the brim.
He laid there on top of you for a few seconds before finally getting off.
“That um- that was great.” he said.
“I know.” you said, as you slipped your clothes back on, and he did the same.
“So-” he said, “...um yeah 1st Corinthians, chapter 3, verse 6.”

"Canon" Perception: Why MHA's World Building SUCKS!
I figured I'd make this post because it's about time I discussed my views on "Canon" or as I like to call it
The Vanilla-verse
Why?
Because Hori's version of events feel like he opened a choose your own adventure game and clicked the most straight forward options available.
Quirk Awakenings Make No Sense (JJK mentioned)
@bibibbon might like this one.
It's no secret MHA's world building is, lackluster. It feels empty.
Characters not allowed to speak out or back against favored ones, Plot lines dropped, Victims shuffled off to the side.
But where Hori fails most of all is his power system:
But first Jujitsu Kaisen
Similar to Hori, Gege (I hope I spelled that right) also struggles with world building.
Firstly the concept of Cursed Spirits.
Monsters being created from "bad" or negative emotions can work as a concept. But it also heavily depends what is considered bad.
It could allow for the tackling of what makes emotions "bad" and tie in with the shows setting of a restrictive society that forces people to either mold to the pressure or be crushed by it.
Suppressing their true selves and emotions in favor of fitting in with the norm. (to evade social subjugation)
Instead, it demonizes what is a fundamentally intrinsic part of human existence, if nor most sapient life.
It also brings up too many questions that go unanswered: Like the historical implications. If spirits have been around for so long, then why aren't places like Japan (with it's bloody history and bleak present) overrun with then.
Why are spirits trying to replace humanity if humans act as the sole reason for their existance. After all: No Humans = No Cursed Energy = No Sprits
What exactly counts as a "negative" emotion and how much does it take to give birth to a cursed spirit. Stuff like that doesn't seem to have an answer.
[This is also coming from someone who has never interacted with JJK in their life]
Similarly Hori has the same problem with almost every detail in the Vanilla-verse. Stuff like: Eri's bullets, Quirk Singularity, Trigger and so, so much more is never elaborated on.
So pray tell, why did I chose Quirk Awakenings to be the subject of this section.
Because they prove that Hori has no idea what he is doing.
Quirk Awakening or QA's might just he the most frustrating thing in MHA. Doesn't matter if it's in Hori's-verse or someone else's.
It hardly fucking ends well and that's because it's so broad.
Take Himiko's quirk awakening.
At first glance, it seems alright. A tad off but not something to raise hell about.
That is until you look at her quirk.
Transformation is a quirk that relies on blood to work, Himiko cannot copy quirks partially because quirks are stored in the DNA of an individual and Transform can only copy the outward appearance of a person.
She needs to learn the individuals mannerisms and habits on her own, she doesn't achieve those by the default of her quirk.
(The same could be argued for her voice, it would be much more impressive if she trained it)
It would make much more sense then, for the evolution of her quirk to allow her to better mimic people. Expanding the scope of who and what she could change into and how accurately she could become a subject.
It also would fit the theme of 'becoming who you love' with the saying 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'
Instead, though. Hori decided to make her AFO lite and it is broken.
If she copies AFO, does she obtain his quirks?
Would her quirk awakening account for other quirk awakenings. Say she transforms into Shigaraki would she be as strong as him post MVA or would she be stuck with USJ-level Decay?
Ignoring the blatant retcon-ex machina of it being dependent on Himiko's connection (not like it mattered during the Forest Camp Raid!), It is massively over powered and it doesn't fit Himiko's themes.
Now, let's look at Twice.
Twice's quirk (Double) allows him to produce identical copies of anyone through a sludge like substance that excretes from the palms of both his hands.
Each copy is a little weaker than the original, if a copy makes a copy then that fragility doubles.
Twice's quirk is ties to his character by his trauma. To the point he's so fearful of turning to sludge, that he actively goes out of his way to avoid conflict.
This guy had to watch himself kill himself, clone against clone and until MVA, Twice isn't even sure he's the original.
Twice's quirk awakening works.
It works solely because of Twice's character and themes, it simply fits.
It makes sense, Twice was so traumatized that he actively suppressed a part of himself and by breaking through that barrier he can begin to grow stronger by accepting himself.
Twice's quirk awakening works because the peice were always there. It wasn't that Twice pulled this out of his ass, he earned it.
He not only unlocked a part of himself, he came back stronger. In this way the formula works
Quirk + Effort/ Character Growth = Stronger Quirk.
Rather than replace or rebuild, Twice's QA works with what was already present and it comes off wonderfully.
I wish I could say the same for our next "challenger"
I have plenty of complaints about Shigaraki as a character, plenty.
His quirk awakening is certainly up there, not on the top. But it's up there.
It takes the weaker aspects of what I mentioned above and uses it as a crutch.
Besides Shigaraki remembering and accepting his past, this QA has nothing going for it.
It's almost boring.
There's only so much you can do with a quirk like Decay.
All it does is expand the speed and radius. And while that works for what Decay is, a quirk made to destroy things. It's really boring from a story perspective.
Seeing Deika and later Jaku was cool, but just that, cool. It only really served to push things forward and what it pushed was horrendous.
Stepping away from the narrative side, let's discuss the In-Universe side.
Post MVA Decay has two advantages. It spreads really fast and it makes things explode:
So why doesn't it work like Twice's did?
Themes. Nothing about Shigaraki's QA ties in with the themes expressed in MVA.
As the protagonist of the arc, we should feel a connection with Shigaraki, but we never do. Mainly because we don't get that much time with him.
Besided the bonding he does with the LOV we are given little reason as to why Shigaraki ticks like he does, there's little to no theme-ing with Shigaraki.
Doctor Garaki says it best with this line:
What does Shigaraki have to show us outside of his past and the PLF.
Hardly anything.
We know he's an avid gamer and likes to destroy things.
That's it.
Even Magne had something before she died, somekind of concrete goal that aligned with her character.
Tomura has nothing we can attach that to and as such his QA falls flat.
And this set the standard for every other quirk awakening in the series, no I'm not counting that monstrosity Hori bulled with Bakugo .
Uraraka's, Midoriya's, Shoto's (implied) Awakening, they all fall flat because they don't match the themes that were set literal years ago. Hori doesn't know how QA work despite having written them.
If your at the point where you, as a writer, don't understand your own in-universe system. Then maybe it's time you take away some stuff.
Why Shigaraki fails as a antagonist (featuring: Nine and Hana)
I already brushed the surface of this topic in the last segment. I'll elaborate on it here.
Shigaraki sucks as an antagonist. I don't like to use Reddit due to the attitudes on there but had found something while looking for information.
I managed to find a post that I think sums up my issues with Shigaraki pretty well, even if I don't agree the rest of the post (mainly blaming Shigaraki for Hori's failures)
The main one being what is the LOV even doing?
Spinner brings up a good point why do they even follow Shigaraki, what can he provide them as a leader that they can't get by sticking it out on their own.
Shigaraki is spoon fed practically everything and once you notice, it kills any possibility of him being taken seriously.
Let's see:
Dabi, Himiko: brought in by Giran, AFO's associate.
Spinner, Mangne, Compress: Came aboard under the false pretense that Shigaraki had cooperated with Stain.
Gigantomechia: Kurogiri has to draw him out, gets arrested while doing so.
The MLA: Has to gain a quirk awakening just to match ReDestro's output and ReDestro hands him the keys almost immediately. Only reason the merger happens is because ReDestro and Spinner planned it.
Every single goddamn thing in this story is because of factors external to Shigaraki. He literally stands around until Garaki gives him a new quest-line like a fucking Bethesda NPC.
It was understandable in the USJ because Shigaraki needed to be introduced. He was at his base form and needed to grow, except that growth never happens.
The story just dances around him, he doesn't need to try because Hori will just force things to happen.
The entire Jaku arc is him throwing a tantrum and the benefits just falling onto his lap. It is sheer luck that the public made that correlation.
Because the Nomu's behavior don't line up at all with Stains ideals. Nor does Shigaraki's "philosophy", and that was what partly triggered the whole Hosu arc in the first place!
Realistically nearly every member of the LOV should have turned tail the moment they met Shigaraki in person and spent time with him for over five minutes.
The LOV only exists and works because Shigaraki takes the backseat.
The entire Camp Raid, the focus is on everyone but Shigaraki who does fuck-all until Bakugo gets captured and we see him at the bar.
You could pluck Shigaraki from the arc and nothing would change because the central focus was on Dabi and the Vanguard Action Squad. How is anyone supposed to take Shigaraki seriously, when he is second fiddle to his own team.
And it's pretty much the same in the Overhaul Arc what does he direct contribute?
Again, nothing. I've heard the term 'Talk no jujitsu' used and it perfectly encapsulates his response to Himiko's anger.
No one in the LOV has any reason to believe him, to put faith in him because the fuck up was so colossal.
Let's review:
Shigaraki knew someone (someone important, a villain) was coming, made no plan if things went south. Dabi had actually left the base to recruit on Shigaraki's orders! Meaning that Shigaraki is primarily to blame for the casualties dealt during this fight.
Already bad, but maybe he does something to reaffirm their belief in him as a leader. Nope.
His revenge plan hinged on Overhaul not deciding to kill two of his team members on a whim, or use them as bargaining chips. Sends them directly into enemy territory with no resources.
Put his teammates on a position where they are forced to kill a hero in order to evade capture, making them a priority target for society at large* and further pushing them away from possible resources. (*A society, mind you that openly mutilates and kills outlaws)
His relationship with his team members is near non existant: from the Reddit Post
Spinner. Shigaraki plays videogames with him off-screen. Never even shows any concern for his whereabouts after Spinner starts losing his mind and almost goes full Nomu off of his quirks.
Kurogiri. Shigaraki never shows any wonder or comment as to Kurogiri's presence, despite the fact that Kurogiri was his babysitter for a long time and he apparently missed him after his capture.
Mr. Compress. Shigaraki never shows any wonder or concern as to his capture.
Dabi. Shigaraki never interacts with him in any way that suggests real friendship.
Toga. Shigaraki never interacts with her in any way that suggests real friendship.
Twice. Shigaraki never shows any kind of wonder or any concern as to his death.
Magne. Shigaraki never interacts with her in a way that suggests real friendship. Side Note: he never really reacts to her death either.
Y'wanna know who does have a relationship with his team?
Nine:
Nine might be one of the few characters Hori has ever created that managed to make me give a shit about them outside of alternative (or fanon) materials.
He is everything Shigaraki tried to be as a character:
A solid goal: To create an ideal world for his allies and himself where their idea of the 'strongest' rule.
Connections: Everything Nine does, he does himself. His teammates ate intertwined with hin through their history, he actually saved Chimera's life and it's implied he also did this for Slice and Mummy.
Effort: Nine puts himself in harms way numerous times for the sake of his allies and their mission. He even goes through with Garaki's experiments knowing he will likely wind up as the experiment himself.
Nine is phenomenal for what he was: A character from a spinoff movie.
youtube
And then he was killed.
God Fucking Damn it Hori.
===============================
Something that always bothered me about the defaced All Might statue was the laziness of it all.
In a way it reflected the direction MHA was headed, headlong into a kerosene coatdd dumpster.
I Am Not Here.
That's the best thing you could come up with? The falling action of the Arc and all you could conjure was that!?
When MHA ended, I said no, no fuck that and began putting some of the concepts I had made during MHA's decline to good use.
The logical conclusions went into Crownless Monarchy. Which serves as a continuation to what Hori failed for finish.
The rest?
The rest had been going into a side project of mine called:
I Am Nowhere
Or Nowhere for short.
Total Timeline Derailment is a phenomenon I noticed pop up in specfic works.
It occurs when an author throws out all stages of canon in favor of crafting their own story and shedding the limitations of the source material.
The story of Nowhere starts off modestly, following an alternative line of events where Hana's quirk causes a much larger scale massacre upon it's blossoming and the expands to show just how different this universe really is.
Such changes include: Hana's quirk being named and shown:
Soundwave: evolution of Nana's quirk and takes inspiration from Hana's name meaning (Flower)
Present Mic and Jirou losing their quirks in their youth (or as an infant in Jirou's case)
Himiko's parents making a deal with the Symbol of Evil himself.
Expanding upon Doctor Garaki's past and friendship with AFO.
The Yakuza going a different route (Overhual gets a new brother)
An alternate USJ: Christmas came early
AFO and Garaki both having successors.
And a ton of other things I need to flesh out more!
One may wonder what this has to do with my critiques on Hori's canon.
Besides being a pitch of sorts, this allows me to elaborate on how Hori seems to make mistakes one wouldn't expect of someone with as many years under the belt as Hori.
The one thing Hori always forgets is consequences. In Nowhere, Consequences are everywhere.
Enji shipping Rei off to the mental ward to cover up his abuse?
AFO takes interest and decides to pull some strings to get Rei transferred to Jaku General.
UA slacks on security?
Ok! Just let Hana bring Warmonger (USJ Nomu) along and have her kill Thirteen and nearly kill All Might in the same hour. Oh, and Himiko is playing the insider (of her own volition)
Bakugo rejects Midoriya's hand?
His abuses attract the attention of the Pale Sculptor herself, leading to him loosing both his parents in a "gas leak" ignited when Marsaru clapped his hands and caused an mini explosion to occur. [They get Rei's version of Nomufication] setting Nomufication forward by a decade in the process.
Ideally this story won't leave things out. Speaking of that I have one last thing to discuss
The whole debacle with the Winged Nomu and how some people don't know that it's apparently supposed to be Tsubasa
(yk the obscure character who only shows up twice and who we didn't get a name for until said reveal)
"What a Bomb to Drop", yeah it would have been better to "drop" it without needing to cram it into volume extras.
That right there is what gets me about Hori's writing, the lack of storytelling.
We shouldn't have an entirety different series just to understand why a character is they way they are (I'm looking at you Oboro)
I will say Vigilantes is leagues above it's parent series, even with the glaring flaws that plauge it.
Moral of the story: LEARN TO WRITE!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀recovery, nanami kento
the shibuya incident shook the sorcery world (and japan) drastically and nanami kento is slowly transitioning back into the world. the dreadful feeling of not being able to help the youth he worked to protect sits heavy in his mind as his scarred hands tremble to do simple tasks. but nothing causes his stomach to twists in the most horrendous knots until he have to face his five year old daughter and the world again with his new battle scars. but as a good wife

OCTOBER 31ST WAS A DAY THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE DRASTICALLY. You remembered dropping your five-year-old daughter Yu off with a friend after an emergency call for many sorcerers to the Shibuya district. You remembered kissing both sides of your daughter’s cheeks because whenever her father wasn’t with you to drop her off, he always told you to make sure you gave her as many kisses as he would give her until she was a giggling mess begging for you to stop. You recalled how your fingertips were imprinted with the fragrance of blood despite you wearing latex gloves the whole time—with the number of deaths you marked down, perhaps that scent just was in your mind. You remembered having a drag of your first cigarette (complementary of Shoko) after the long day of horror—you hated it. You thought it would ease your growing anxiety when you didn’t know where your husband was at. You recalled how you noticed Shoko’s whole demeanor changed as her quick strides towards you seemingly were used to push you further away from seeing the horror that was soon displayed in your view.
You remembered how disoriented you felt. You couldn’t keep much food down and practically slept at the hospital. You just didn’t feel like yourself—but who would when they knew that the events at Shibuya had nearly killed their loved one? It broke your heart lying to your own daughter. Your tongue stinging, even uttering out the words that mommy and daddy had to take a work trip and will return as soon as possible. Your daughter thought you were away at work, but here you were, staring at the monitor in Nanami’s room beep. You didn’t want to lose him; you didn’t know what to do without him. You didn’t know what Yu would be without him, she was such a Daddy’s girl, and it would crush your soul for her first love to be taken away from her.
Nanami was strong. He pushed through. He wouldn’t be the same, but he pushed through. It was quite a journey of physical therapy, support groups, and even him deciding to stay at a hotel for a while, fearing how his daughter would react to seeing him like that. It took him two weeks and your constant encouragement until he finally decided to return home. Even when he decided to let his daughter see him eventually, you still basked in silence in the car, waiting until he was comfortable. Although your daughter wasn’t home yet, Nanami hadn’t stepped foot into your shared home in what seemed like a year—when it only had been a couple of months. The words of what he would say to his daughter swirl around his mind like a carnival carousel curling around. He had to do this. He couldn’t avoid being in his daughter’s life because of the triggering aftermath of Shibuya.
He refused to give Mahito that much power over him.
“I’m just afraid of how she’ll react.” Nanami lets out a sigh as he packs up his clothes. His scarred hands trembled as he folded his clothes to put them in his suitcase neatly. Nowadays, it takes him longer than usual to do simple tasks like buttoning his shirt, and he now attempts to fold his clothes.
“Our daughter is extraordinary; she’ll understand what we do when we explain it to her fully.” You grabbed Nanami’s trembling hands to get his full attention. “We told ourselves that we want her to enjoy her youth. We’ll protect her just so she can do that, but she‘s growing and becoming more curious—we can’t shelter her from a life that she could soon be interested in pursuing.”
You watched as Nanami’s lips formed a straight line. He couldn’t argue against your words because they were true. His daughter was five. It was no point to stir her away from the lifestyle her parents (and a good portion of people she interacted with) were so familiar with, especially when she could possibly already see the ghoulish creatures that haunted his nightmares when he closed his eyes.
“You’re still her father, Ken,” You mumbled as your eyes glanced up at him. “No matter how you look right now, she will still know it’s you because of this.” Your index finger pokes his chest where his heart is.
During some moments within the day, you watched Nanami do simple tasks around the house as the two of you were waiting for you to have to pick up Yu from your friend’s house. Deciding to do what you guys usually do on a bright Sunday morning: clean the house. Your eyes couldn’t help but shine in worry seeing his right-hand shudder while he tried to do something like help you cut up vegetables for dinner. You knew this took a toll on him because cooking dinner together was your thing. A form of love language created when you first started dating blossomed into a tradition—it was just something you two did together. Even after long days of work and raising a very bright personality five-year-old—you two always met in the kitchen, whipping up dinner together and sharing subtle kisses here and there.
Your lips parted to ask if he needed help, but it was as if he read your mind—Nanami shook his head as he continued to cut the vegetables. This time he had a better grip on the knife and was doing it perfectly. If you looked closer, you could even see a twinkle in his eye at him being able to do such a task. Your lips curve into a small smile before you return to doing what you were doing. The two of you moved in sync in the kitchen as if you were competitors in a cooking show—managing to finish dinner and set the table just in time for you to have to pick up Yu. You kissed Nanami’s cheek, mumbling about how you’ll be back as soon as possible. Your friend only lived about fifteen minutes away and didn’t mind dropping Yu off, but you felt it was best for you to talk to her first.
You hated to admit that you were afraid of how Yu would react at the sight of her father—especially considering that you never went into detail about what you two do. She knows you’re a doctor and heal people, but that was it. She had no clue about curses, cursed energy—any of that. Was it wrong to shield her from that, considering that her parents would die? Maybe. But you and Nanami wanted to do everything to protect her youth and her ability to be young. When you picked Yu up, you couldn’t help but smile, seeing her bright smile as she skipped out of your friend’s house with her belongings in one hand and taiyaki. She hugged your leg as you opened the car door, rambling about her adventures with your friend. You helped her in her booster seat and strapped her in before climbing back into the car and returning home. Your mind is running with thoughts of telling your daughter that her father was back from the work trip, but he got hurt. He didn’t look like the last time she saw him.
“Yu, we have to talk.” You said while stopping at the red light. You look in the rearview mirror, watching her snack on the sweet treat. Mentally, you’re cursing your friend for giving her sweets so close to dinnertime—but maybe that would help her process the burdening news.
She glances at you with a smile. A toothless one because Nanami lost one of her front teeth after biting an apple while she was going. Another moment Nanami has missed. You broke eye contact with her to continue to drive, and you could even see the familiar driveway of your home.
“Is daddy finally coming back?” Yu asked. You could hear her kicking her feet, and you simply sighed.
You were turning into the driveway and parking the car. You unbuckled your seat so you could turn to look at her. Her curious expression looked rather adorable with the taiyaki crumbs on them. You knew you couldn’t lie to her. Ignoring her question, you exited the car and helped her out. You figured it would be better to be closer to her when you dropped the colossal bomb that could alter how she sees her father. Closing the car door and kneeling to her height, “Sweetie, I need to tell you something about your father.”
Yu’s head tilted in confusion, and her eyes shone with curiosity and fear. Your hands would give her a comforting squeeze, tugging the coils out her face that fell out of the red headband Yuji brought her on one of his free days from being a sorcerer student.
“Daddy got hurt badly at work.” You tried to explain, but your voice seemed to crack in the back of your throat as you tried not to cry. This hurt.
“Your dad was hurt really bad, and I just wanted to let you know that you must take it easy on him. He’s still your dad, who will protect you no matter what.” You rubbed your thumb against her cheek brushing away any crumbs off her face.
Yu only give you a nod. The five-year-old had to comprehend that something happened so quickly that she didn’t even know if she should be asking more questions. She was one curious kid that always had a question about something. You opened the front door holding onto Yu’s hand, and the house seemed too quiet other than the sounds from the dining room. You glance down at Yu and lead her to the kitchen; you can’t help but chuckle at the sight.
Nanami set the table slowly; he didn’t even notice that two of his favorite girls had returned. You felt Yu grip your hand harder at the sight as you cleared your throat to get his attention just in time as he set the last place at the table. When he looked up and saw the two of you, you gave him a reassuring smile. It was okay. It was a huge step, but it was okay. The skin on the right side of his body was bare and burnt and could be considered quite distracting to people who walked by him when he went to physical therapy. His mangled scars traveled up from the side of his face and down to his foot. His right eye was covered with a black eye patch as he stared at his wife and Yu.
Yu’s mouth gasped open as she clutched to your pants leg. You didn’t want to nudge her forward; you were aching to know what was running through your daughter’s mind. Yu’s eyes seemed to be eyeing Nanami, who was standing before them. Nanami feared what his daughter would do and how she would react. He was afraid that his daughter wouldn’t recognize him due to the permanent scars he now had on his body. His palms grew sweaty at the silence in the kitchen. He still remembered the conversation you two had before all of this. He couldn’t shutter away in fear in a situation like this, and it was something Mahito would want.
Yu finally detached herself from your pants, dropping the snack she once was eating and running to hug her father’s leg. The sight shocked you as you watched Nanami lift her in his arms and pull her close. Yu’s small arms wrapped around Nanami’s neck as she started to cry. Your eyes began to burn with your tears, quickly going to swipe them away before you became an emotional wreck. You were happy to see her show that emotion to you and Nanami.
Yu lifts from the crook of Nanami’s neck to say through sniffles, “Daddy, I can’t believe you’re a pirate now.”
You chuckled at her statement before speaking, “How about you two go get cleaned up, and I’ll put the food on the table.”
Nanami put Yu down, and he extended his hand for her to take so she could lead him to the bathroom so they could get ready for dinner. A warm feeling overwhelmed your heart watching Yu drag him away, but she did it so gently, considering that Nanami still used a cane to help him walk better to his destination. You let them get cleaned up while you cleaned up the snack your daughter dropped and finished setting the table.
Dinner felt like a nostalgic feeling—a nice nostalgic feeling that made you smile so hard. Yu was telling you about all the adventures she went on while you were away, from going to the countryside with Nanami’s parents to going to a pig cafe with your friend. She had so many stories to tell that she must have been holding in to tell the two of you.
“And I lost my tooth.” She grins at the two of you as she lets her tongue glides across the place where one of her teeth once was.
“I’m sure the tooth fairy came and visited you,” Nanami adds.
“Yeah,” Yu placed her fork down to dig into her pockets, and she pulled out her yen bills. “Then I also made a new friend at school.”
“You’re one social butterfly,” You said aloud, sipping your water.
“He’s so nice but has an ugly imaginary friend.” Yu shoved her mouth with vegetables leaving both Nanami, and yourself stunned at her words.
“Sweetheart, it’s not very nice to call someone ugly. Even if it’s an imaginary friend.” Nanami glances at his daughter, who lets out a familiar dramatic sigh he has heard from you.
The blonde-haired male tends to forget that his daughter had a carbon copy of your personality. He watches as she pushes her vegetables around her plate before speaking again, “It’s just his imaginary friend who makes weird noises, and it looks like they make my friend unhappy.” Yu explained
Nanami’s head tilts in curiosity, hearing his daughter describe something he was acquainted with. His hold on the fork tightened as he realized what his child was describing, and his stomach formed the most monstrous knots. He took a sip of water as he watched you grab hold of his hand and give it a nice squeeze.
“How long have you been seeing this imaginary friend?” You asked.
“Hm, since Monday,” Yu admitted.
“How about we invite your friend over? Hm?” Nanami asked.
“Really?” Yu questioned excitedly.
You made eye contact with Nanami. You didn’t want him to push himself so much that he was uncomfortable. “Are you sure about that?” You questioned as you collected Yu’s plate in front of her.
“It’s okay.” Nanami gives you a grin. “We’ll just have to ask the little guy's parents, that’s all.”
Dinner continued with laughs and stories. Yu was so excited just to see her two parents together again. She couldn’t stop discussing everything she wanted to show you and Nanami. Even as you wrapped up dinner and told her to get ready for bed—she begged Nanami to help her. Due to Nanami being the girl dad he was, he couldn’t resist that charming smile and the puppy dog eyes Yu gave him when she wanted her way.
“I’ll meet you in our room when I’m done. Make sure she brushes her teeth.” You smile as Nanami pecks your lips and watches him disappear towards the stairs with your energetic daughter.
NANAMI’S FINGERS GRASPED AT THE FLUFFY PINK TEDDY BEAR AFTER HE HAD TUCKED YU IN. Nanami Kento hasn't done this in months. He hadn't tucked his daughter in and placed a soft kiss upon her forehead in months, and the feeling felt so foreign to him even though he had held her so close when she was only a tiny baby. Or the fact that he witnessed her take first steps towards not him or his lovely wife Y/N, but freakin’ Gojo. Then Nanami couldn’t forget holding her hand as he walked into her first dance class.
Yu looked at him as if he was the whole world—as if he was her protector and knight in the fairytale world that she dreamt about. Now, the guilt and the harsh stab in his heart hit him that he possibly wasn’t strong enough to protect her however he wanted. How can he protect something he promised to protect when she was just a baby now that his scarred hands shook doing simple tasks like tying his shoes, and when he closed his eyes, his nightmares were filled with him.
“Daddy?” Yu broke the blonde-haired male out of his thoughts as she looked at him. “Where’d you go? Mommy said you went away for work.”
He sits on her bed, and his weight causes the mattress to sink. He felt that question was coming; she just didn’t feel comfortable asking just yet. “Yes, I did. I just got hurt while doing so,” His lips form a reassuring grin that he hopes she will return.
Instead, her chocolate brown hues only lit up in curiosity. It was a look he had seen in Y/N’s eyes many times when he stepped into the medical room at the Kyoto school. Yu snuggles closer to the teddy bear in her arms before asking, “Does it hurt? Mommy can make you feel better with her mommy powers, or Auntie Shoko can help you..” She then flashes Nanami a smile, and it just hits Nanami that his little girl was missing one of her front teeth.
She extended her hand, and Nanami’s scarred one held on to it. He watched her small thumb rub against his hand with a small smile. “I missed you, Daddy.” Her eyes start to water, and the waterworks begin.
He cradles her in his arms so tightly, similar to when she was only a tiny baby in his arms years ago. Nanami didn’t want to let go. He held onto his daughter until she fell asleep with dried tears staining her cheeks. When he tucked her in tightly with her favorite stuffed teddy bear next to her, he placed a kiss on her forehead.
“I will protect you forever, no matter what, princess.”
After those words, he knew she probably wouldn’t remember, he turned off her room light. The only thing that illuminated Yu's room was a nightlight plugged up near her bed while Nanami closed the door just a bit for it to be cracked.
Nanami settled in bed after showering. With one of his favorite books in his hand, he didn’t even notice that Y/N had skipped into the room after checking on Yu one last time before bed. The oversized Star Trek shirt that once was owned by Nanami hugged your figure, and with each step, you took to climb into bed—Nanami could get a glance at the cup of your butt.
Y/N climbed into bed, and Nanami expected her to snuggle up close to him like she usually does when he reads before bed. She’ll always tell him how comforting his voice is when he reads aloud to her. Subtle jokes about how he could have been a speech coach or something instead of fighting curses. He wished his life was as simple as that. Instead of being scouted to go to a school to fight curses, he would have lived an everyday life. He would meet Y/N in a hospital in another life because now that he’s been married to her for years, he couldn’t fathom another life where she wasn’t a part of it.
Nanami’s chocolate brown hues scanned over the words of the book he was wearing as he felt the weight of Y/N climbing on top of him. Her tummy was now supporting his book as she glanced down at him, and when his eyes finally looked up from his book—his lips formed a crescent moon-shaped smile at the sight. She hadn’t wrapped her hair yet, so her kinky coils were sprawled all over her head like a golden crown.
“I missed you, you know? I missed this.” She says as her teeth grind against the plump lower lip.
Nanami folded the corner of the page; he stopped reading and closed the book. He placed the book on the oak-colored nightstand, and his hands found comfort on Y/N’s waist. “Me too.” He answered truthfully.
“I can tell, Ken,” Y/N says lowly as her hips rock against Nanami’s bulge, which displays how much he had missed his wife since his months of being away.
His fingers tiptoed up the shirt, but he soon snatched his scarred hand away in embarrassment. The insecure feeling of his rough and tainted fingers caressing something so soft as his face grows red. Y/N’s eyebrows raised in confusion because he didn’t want to touch her. She didn’t take offense to it, considering that she knew this was something Nanami would have to get used to. That half of his body was permanent with scars that she would help him love.Y/N tugged her shirt over her head, tossing it on the floor. Her hand grasped Nanami’s scarred one and she kissed his knuckles before placing his hand on one of her breasts.
“It’s okay. I want your touch. I crave your touch.” Y/N says. She guided Nanami’s hand up and down her soft brown skin before she began to rock her hips again. She knew Nanami was enjoying because, through the curls that fell in her face with each rock of her hips, she saw how his chocolate brown eyes lit up. “And I can tell you’re craving my touch also. You’ve missed me so much, didn’t you?”
Nanami’s words were so caught up in his throat that he didn’t even know how to respond. His mind couldn’t focus on everything all at once because he wanted to do so much for Y/N. His scarred index and middle finger rolled her nipples in between them, gaining a moan from her, and it hit him hard at how much he missed this. He missed seeing how Y/N’s eyes fluttered close in pure bliss when he touched and kissed her. He’s so eager to get out of his boxers that he didn’t even catch the way she had some shit-eating grin on her face.
But it was another thing that Nanami adored. He adored seeing that expression on Y/N’s face when he finally slid in. The way she would chew on her lower lip to muffle a moan when he had only slipped his tip inside her. Which only would cause Nanami to finally shove his cock further inside her just to hear her yelp out his name and have that dreamy expression on her face.
That same expression she had on her face right now that Nanami’s cock was inside of her. A look of affection that the retired sorcerer missed so much. His hand grasped her waist, guiding Y/N’s hips in a pleasurable, rhythmic pace for both of them. Y/N props her hand on Nanami’s chest to help her balance upon riding him. Moans trembled out her mouth with each roll of her hips, and she had only had Nanami on her mind. It was quite strange how he could plague her brain like a catchy summer tune. That was just the type of spell he had on her.
Nanami tried his best to thrust upward just to hit the spot that had Y/N speaking one of the languages she knew, but it had only taken a toll on his body, and Y/N noticed immediately.
“I got it, Ken. Just relax.” Y/N’S leaning down, kissing at the corner of his lips (specifically the side that’s decorated with burn marks and soon his lips as she cocked to bounce upon his cock. “I know you want to ensure I’m getting more out of this than you.” She adds.
“Y/N…” Nanami breathed out. “I just want to make—”
His words were cut off by her, “Make sure I orgasm; when do you not make me orgasm?” She glances down at him.
“Can I take care of you for once? Hm?” She asked that question with a roll of her hips for each word and syllable that left that pretty mouth of hers.
And Nanami’s brain turned into mush, his face got so hot, and his balls grew heavier. The only answer he could give to Y/N was, “Fuck.”
“Good answer.” She cockily responds before her hand reaches at the headboard to help her ride him some more.
The mess built between their naked bodies was driving Nanami insane but in a good way. After months of being touch-deprived due to surgeries and physical therapy, he needed this. He relaxed under Y/N; he let her take control until he could feel himself about to cum.
“I’m about to—Shit,” Nanami uttered. Before he could say anything else, Y/N could feel the thick ropes of cum shooting inside of her. She’s leaning down, capturing his lips upon his and slowly grinding against him to ensure his cum stays inside of her.
When the kiss broke apart, Nanami looked up at his wife as if he had hearts in his eyes. “I fuckin’ love you.”
“I love you too,” Y/N giggles through her subtle pants.
With the Star Trek shirt back on Y/N’s body, which was now stained with the scent of Nanami and sweat, she glances over at her husband, who is sincerely thinking about something. She hoped he still wasn’t thinking about the scars on his body. “What’s on your mind?” She glances up at him through her eyelashes.
“Yu can see curses now.” Nanami looked at his wife. “She’s only five.” He adds with a sigh.
Y/N hated to admit that her assumptions of what their daughter told them during dinner were accurate. She felt like Yu was too young to see them and finally realized that her world was much different than her friends in class. But Yu had two amazing parents. Two parents would guide her through this. Due to Nanami being the wonderful husband he was, it was as if he read Y/N’s mind.
With a sly grin and a quick, playful peck on the tip of Y/N’s nose, he says, “We’ll guide her through it, though.”

series masterlist
[part twelve] : “Those Who Regret, Those Who Deflect, and Those Who Defect” ___
Today was Wednesday.
(y/n’s) fingers drummed against the surface of her desk as she stared at the notebook before her. Today the entire page was filled with notes, but she hadn’t heard a word Yaga spoke as he blathered on with his lesson. The notes, dates, and ideas she’d written today were to help clear her overworking mind of the mess she’d gotten herself in.
Bus tickets? She wrote in small letters in a clear space in the corner of her page. She could probably afford two, at the least. But could she really send two kids off to who knows where?
She quickly crossed out the idea, hoping to forget it completely. There was nowhere she could send Megumi and Tsumiki that the Zen’in Clan couldn’t find them.
Her eyes flicked up to the front of the class, feigning attention. There was only twenty minutes of class, if she could just make it that long without getting called out for her lack of participation, then she could bolt out of there and work somewhere in private for the rest of the day.
Fake deaths? She wondered briefly how difficult it would be to fake a death. If we set fire to the house and flee the country, could that buy some time, at least?
She made a mental note to do a deep dive on how to get away with arson.
To her luck, Yaga had always been more of a lecturer of a teacher than one who encouraged participation. So as he droned on, it was easy to act as though she were diligently taking notes. But he was the only one in that classroom that hadn’t noticed (y/n’s) odd behavior. Or appearance, for that matter.
When she’d arrived, Shoko had already been in her seat, and her quiet greeting died in her throat as she eyed her friend up and down in pure concern. She’d never seen (y/n) so disheveled.
Her uniform was wrinkled, and the top few buttons of her collar weren’t even fastened. Not to mention her hair was clearly unwashed, thrown up with a clip secured at the back of her head- and she didn’t even seem to have the energy to do that properly. Some strands stuck out awkwardly, and some weren’t even scooped up by the plastic claws of the accessory.
Shoko hadn’t commented on it as she watched (y/n) take her seat and instantly pull out a notebook and pen, as though she had a massive workload to catch up on. The brown eyed girl chalked it all up to her mission. She wasn’t even supposed to be back to class today, so she must have been wiped out from the assignment, right?
Even though Shoko decided this must have been the case, she still gnawed on the inside of her cheek with anxiety every time she cast a glance (y/n’s) way during class. Something in Shoko’s gut told her she wasn’t trying to focus on her studies with the way she scribbled away in fervor.
Satoru had also noticed the storm cloud over (y/n’s) head as soon as he’d shown up to class. By the time he’d strolled in, his usual whole minute late, she’d already been hard to work in that notebook of hers. (y/n) wasn’t exactly a stickler for a perfect uniform and appearance, but she was never… messy.
His eyes trailed from the disheveled girl, to Shoko, who was already looking at him with a worried expression. It clearly told him something was wrong.
Sure, he knew that, he could see that, clear as day. (y/n) obviously wasn’t trying to hide it. And sure, seeing her in such a disheveled state was alarming enough to make his sour heart weaken for her. But when he sat in his seat and noticed Shoko still staring at him, as though asking him to do something, he shrugged his shoulders lamely, and avoided glancing in either of their directions for the rest of the day.
He had other troubles on his mind today, with his best friend being MIA.
It wasn’t surprising to Satoru in the slightest when (y/n) was out of the classroom as soon as Yaga had wrapped up his lesson for the day.
Satoru was next to rush for the door, but was stopped by a short statured Shoko, holding her books to her chest, and staring up at him expectantly, as if she wasn’t the one that got in his way.
He just sighs, and waits for her to speak her piece.
“This is crazy,” She gives in. “I can’t take all of this anymore. I mean, with Suguru, with (y/n), I’m going to lose my head” The admission comes out in a sardonic tone, but the look on her face tells him she’s about to cry.
“Shoko, I really don’t want to talk about the rumors. They’re just rumors” He tells her, and attempts to walk around her, but she’s quick to slide into his way again.
“Fine. Then let’s talk about (y/n),” She says, placing her hands on her hips.
Satoru fights the urge to groan and throw his head back. This was the last thing he wanted to do, but if he blew off Shoko he’d only upset her, and he was quickly running out of friends. So instead of pushing around her- which he could do with ease- he stays put and gives into the uncomfortable conversation.
“Look, she finally talked to me and… and I get it, okay?” Shoko’s voice turns soft with empathy. “I get that you’re upset, and just so you know, I do not support this either. I don’t know how she got caught up with the Zen’ins or why but-”
“Woah, backtrack,” Satoru held up his hand, which was enough to silence a now confused Shoko. His eyes are wide, and every feature of his face unmoving. Hearing the Zen’in name be brought up in a conversation regarding (y/n) made his blood run cold before freezing altogether. His mouth dried, cementing in the sour taste of bile. A minute passes, the two of them standing there staring at each other, each as shocked as the other, and neither knowing what to say now. “You didn’t just say Zen’ins, right?”
Blinking, her mouth opened to confirm, but as Satoru’s eye twitched with blossoming irritability, Shoko opted to nod her head instead as she fumbled to explain.
“Yeah… I thought… you didn’t know?” She failed to form much of a question at all, her brows furrowing.
“You thought I knew what she was up to!?”
His voice raises, not in anger with the girl in front of him, but with the one that had hidden some seriously detrimental information from him. Shoko’s flustering in front of him, having believed his fight with (y/n) was about the Zen’ins. Apparently, her best friend had finally picked up a knack for lying. Or maybe Shoko really wanted to believe that this time, it was the truth. Before she gets the chance to start over and explain the whole thing, Satoru’s ranting.
“Hell, Zen’ins?” He mutters, shoving his sunglasses into his hair as he pinches the bridge of his nose. “What fucking business does she have with them? And why wouldn’t she just come to me for help? God, she’s the most infuriating person, I swear when I find her-”
“Wait, Satoru,” Shoko’s shaking her head, her eyes blown wide in fear.
And also an unease that pumped straight from her heart and through her veins, realizing she now had to break to him.
“She’s not in trouble,” She says, only furthering Satoru’s confusion.
With his brows drawn together and his lips parted in disgusted confusion, he couldn’t think of a single explanation for how she couldn’t be in trouble. Business with the Zen’in Clan was certain trouble, that much was common sense.
“She’s…” Shoko starts, but trails off, too upset to be the bearer of bad news.
“She’s what?” Satoru nearly snaps at her, but fights the instinct to do so.
Shoko chews on her lip, wishing now that she’d never approached Satoru.
“She… she told me that this is what your fight was about,” She admits instead. “And it made sense, I’m so sorry, Satoru, I thought you knew. I thought she told you”
“Told me what?” He’s not usually one to beg, but he’s ready to get on his knees and plead with Shoko to spit it out already.
His eyes are piercing into hers with an intensity she’d rarely gotten to see up close, and she had to admit, the usual pretty cerulean was intimidating. Even to her.
“She’s seeing one of them”
It’s a whisper, as though she still couldn’t believe the news, even after almost a week of it keeping her up at night.
Satoru’s so still, she’s not sure he’s even heard her. He doesn’t so much as blink. He just stares at her.
Unsurely, and uncomfortably, Shoko clarifies.
“They’re courting her, I suppose,” She says, trying to speak louder, more clearly, but her voice refuses to rise above a whisper. “I guess for the last couple months-”
“No”
It’s the only thing Satoru says, and it seems he’s under the same curse, as it comes out under his breath. He shakes his head in a small motion of disbelief.
He’s reminded of the way it had felt when (y/n) had removed her hex from him, that small but distinct buzz of her cursed energy vanishing at her will. He remembered feeling empty once it was gone. As though it had nestled into a spot in his soul, and when she’d removed it, it left not a mark, but a hole. He’d lied about the sensation, as not to hurt her feelings. He wonders now if she’d offered the same pleasantry to him, lying so as not to hurt his feelings. If only she hadn’t been such a shitty liar.
Shoko’s eyes fill with tears as she watches in real time as he processes this information. Her heart breaks for him. Her heart breaks with his.
“I’m- I’m so sorry,” She stammers over her apology as tears burn in her throat and eyes. “I didn’t want to tell you like this- I- I really didn’t know that you-”
“Don’t be sorry,” Satoru cuts her off, his hand grabbing her elbow reassuringly, so that she knew he wasn’t upset with her.
She knows he means it, but the emotions swirling in his eyes were so bitter, she can’t help but frown. He’s taken on more bad news than he should have to bear, and she knows he’s strong, the strongest, but even the strongest could only carry so much. And besides, did being the strongest mean he deserved to take on all of this suffering? Did being the strongest mean he had to take on all of this pain?
“You didn’t know,” He says. “Thank you, for telling me”
With blurred vision, Shoko nods at him, before hastily wiping the tears from her eyes.
“We got in a fight because she didn’t want to take the Brazil assignment,” He finally confesses. “She didn’t have a good reason, and (y/n’s) always been a shit liar, so I figured it had to do with, well, that, I guess,” He mutters towards the end, but shakes his head again and keeps going. “She completely lost it. I’ve never seen her so mad, and I- I guess I didn’t help, but… but I just…” He sighs, taking the sunglasses off his head so he could run a hand through his hair.
“I know,” Shoko chimed in softly. “I was worried too”
“Why… why couldn’t she just tell me?” He asked, knowing there wasn’t an answer. Not one Shoko could give him anyways.
“I mean… it’s not like we’re taking this well” She half-jokes, but even the chuckle she attempts dies in her throat with an awkward croak.
“No, I’m upset, I’m… I’m pissed,” He admits. “But.. but if way back then she would have just said something…”
“I still would’ve been pissed,” Shoko says with confidence. “I don’t know who it is she’s seeing, I don’t know any details at all but I don’t need to,” She shrugs her shoulders limply. “I know she can’t possibly be in love with the guy, I mean-”
Before she can finish her thought, Shoko shuts her mouth immediately. Satoru didn’t need to hear her opinion on who was or wasn’t right for (y/n). It wasn’t important now, since she’d made her choice.
And it was almost as if she could see the heartbreak, the disappointment, and the jealousy in his eyes, mixing into a dangerously depressing cocktail.
“Sorry,” She mumbles sheepishly. “But… just so you know, I was rooting for you guys,”
Satoru blinks, his expression going blank with perfect precision of his microexpressions. Shoko and Suguru had spent a lot of time teasing him for the way he spoke about (y/n), or treated her, and sometimes even the way he looked at her. But he’d never actually admitted the way he’d felt about her, not out loud.
Clearly no matter how much he’d brushed off their comments with an eye roll or a joke, Shoko had seen through the act.
Or maybe she was only saying this now because she could see the way this news was hitting him directly in the heart. Had he really become so vulnerable, that he would be that easy to read? Was he really becoming this weak?
Shoko’s eyes are sad as she’s the one to reach out to him now, placing a hand on his shoulder and offering the tiniest of smiles.
“I really thought that you were growing into each other… you know?” She tells him gently. “She cared- cares,” She corrects herself quickly, and pauses to make sure she doesn’t make a mistake like that again. “She cares about you a lot, she needs you, you know”
There was a time when hearing this, Satoru might have gotten a little lovesick. Maybe he would have even done something about it, too. He could have sworn, somewhere between the playful banter, the nights he spent in her room, the alone time they had started sharing more and more, that she had felt the same way. He could have sworn. It couldn’t have all been in his head, it couldn’t have been fabricated, because she was there.
She was there when he took her to breakfast, and they strolled through the shops in Tokyo all day, laughing, chatting, and maybe even flirting. She was there when he’d wake her from her nightmares, holding her, comforting her, cooing to her until she’d fall back asleep. She was there for all the banter that ended with a gleam in her eye, for all of the times that he’d peek over to her only to find her eyes already locked on him. Whether or not she harbored the same feelings for him that he had for her, almost didn’t matter, because when those feelings of his would arise, she was there for it, so she had to feel it on some level, right?
Was it really all just a trick? None of it had been real?
“That’s not what she told me when she told me to fuck off,” He finally grumbles in bitterness. “I think it’s pretty fuckin’ clear just how much she-”
“Talk to her again” Shoko cut him off, her words quiet, but encouraging.
His brows furrow at her, silently asking her if she’s crazy.
“She doesn’t-”
“Try,” Shoko speaks over him again, pleading now. “Please, try. I can’t lose any more friends, Satoru. I can’t have you two fall apart, it can’t be like this forever,”
A tear slips down her cheek, and Satoru watches as it catches on her jaw and slides to her chin. By the time it drops, more tears are spilling from her eyes.
“I need us to be okay, I need us to stick together,” She admits, her whimpering voice cracking, but she doesn’t care about keeping her composure anymore.
All she could think about was how this choice (y/n) had made seemed to affect every single one of them, even though she’d chosen to keep it private. How much it had hurt her, and how much it was hurting Satoru now. If Suguru were here, Shoko was sure he would be upset about this predicament as well. The privacy, the lies, it only made things worse. Shoko didn't know where she stood with her anymore.
“We’re best friends,” Shoko mumbles. “Right?”
Satoru nods, and pulls her hand from his shoulder, only to reach his arms out and hug her tightly. Shoko wrapped her own arms around him in the same motion, clinging onto him and hoping he could feel every ounce of comfort and kindness she could possibly pour into the hug.
They don’t say anything. ___
As soon as (y/n) was in the privacy of her dorm, where she could lock her door and put the outside world on hold for a minute, she made her way to her desk.
Pulling open a drawer and lifting the mess of papers to reach underneath, she sighs as she pulls out the hidden envelope. There wasn’t much of a reason to be digging for it now, seeing as it’s contents were seared into her memory like a white hot brand, but something drove her to opening it once more.
The wax seal with the Zen’ins’ crest stamped into the fold of the envelope was still intact, but no longer keeping it glued shut. Any stickiness it once had was now worn away from overuse.
(y/n’s) fingers worked on muscle memory, her eyes shut as she pulled out the letter inside, unfolding it and smoothing the creases between the pads of her fingers. When her eyes opened, the same message was before her.
No matter how much she hoped it would change, it hadn’t. No matter how many times she's read it, it still held all the same letters, all the same punctuation, all the same slant of the crosses through the t's. Still, she wished it hadn't. She’d rather accept schizophrenic delusions than what this letter contained.
The sigh she let out racked through her whole body, bringing her into a slump over her desk.
Like clockwork, she scanned through the words. Hoping to catch something she hadn’t seen before, even though she’d given up sleep to read and re-read this letter, until her morning alarm had shocked her from her stupor.
Still, it remained the same.
It’s come to our attention that the child of Fushiguro Toji is being harbored at this household. If the boy has developed his cursed technique, he is to be returned to his proper place with the Zen’in Clan at once. Failure to do so will be treated as an act of defiance- and anyone involved will be punished to the fullest extent of Jujutsu Sorcerer Code. We expect him returned and in good health by three days.
Otherwise, we will take the matter into our own hands- and we will collect him.
- Naobito Zen’in
The amount of times her eyes have burned the image of his words into her mind is unknown to her, but after a few minutes she folds it back up neatly at it’s creases, tucks it back into it’s envelope, and carefully places it in it’s hiding spot at the bottom of her desk drawer.
It dawns on her that no amount of plotting and running would ever work. The Zen’ins were smarter than any plan she could come up with, no matter how thought out, no matter how perfect, they would always catch up to her. She alone wasn’t enough to outsmart them.
And even if she did, where did that put her? On the lamb with two kids that she could barely afford to support- who weren’t even hers, which was a whole other load of risks- and she’d have to say goodbye to being a jujutsu sorcerer. Best case scenario she works two jobs to pay bills, put food on the table, all while having to keep an eye over her shoulder for any sign of threat. This was all assuming the Fushiguro kids would even want her to do this.
It reminded her that she still had to decide what she was going to tell them about this letter- or if she was going to tell them about this letter. They weren’t nearly old enough for the whole truth, and if (y/n) was honest with herself, she wasn’t ready to tell them the whole truth.
Hell, I couldn’t even tell them their Dad was dead. They had to come to assume that on their own. Not that this news seemed to shock them, or bother them in the slightest.
Leaning over her desk and grabbing fistfuls of her hair, she tried to focus on one thought at a time. But with a mountain of issues and only three days to figure out how to get out of them, the anxiety was beginning to consume her more than ever before.
Running away wasn’t an option. She couldn’t win if she ran away. And besides, it wasn’t her style, she was never one to run from a fight.
This secret of yours, is it worth your life?
When Suguru had asked her this, she didn’t have an answer. When she’d returned to the Fushiguro household after her overseas assignment and had been overcome with relief that they had been safe in her absence, she was certain she’d do anything to protect them.
Now that this letter had found it’s way to her, she had her answer in mind. Crystal clear. In a void of anxiety, rage, and paranoia, it was a certainty she could anchor herself to.
This was worth her life. Megumi and Tsumiki, they were worth her life. She didn’t know it three months ago when she’d found them, that they would become such an important part of her life. She didn’t know it when she’d overheard the Sorcerer Killer briefly mention something about children- that she would be their sole provider and that she would step into the shoes he left at the door when he’d abandoned them. She never knew that deep down, there was a part of her that knew Tsumiki and Megumi were hers now.
(y/n) didn’t know that when she’d begun her search for them, eight months ago, that it had come with a vow to protect the both of them as if they were her own, and now it was time for her to keep her word, and do she had to in order to protect them.
Her feet moved on their own accord, it seemed, as she flew through the corridors and sidewalks of Jujutsu Tech’s campus towards the gym, concerning the few scattered underclassmen who hung around in the courtyard during their freetime.
The run was winding, but it was only a warm up compared to the rigorous training she was going to have to put herself through if she had even a chance of taking on the Zen’in Clan. ___
The swords strapped to (y/n’s) back never felt heavier.
In fact, until now, she’s not sure she’s ever noted their weight on her back. Maybe when she had first started practicing with them as a First Year. But it felt like ever since she’d first picked them up, she’d never felt a desire to put them down. With her cursed technique being difficult to master and not always reliable on an assignment, her weapons were her greatest strength, and she wielded them with a tremendous amount of comfort and confidence.
They were an extension of her. Like an extra set of limbs, her swords were something she could control on muscle memory, with no real though, no second guess, they swung through the air on their own accord. The moment she’d picked them up during her first year, they’d been her most prized possession.
Now, as she walked back to her dorm from her rough training session, she was all too aware of their weight.
Her hair that had been neatly tied up at the beginning of her workout was starting to come undone, messy strands falling around her face, a few sticking to the sheen of sweat that covered her forehead. No matter how many times she’d pushed them back, they’d fall again. Eventually, she gave into the minor annoyance and let the loose strands stick to her face. She was heading straight for the shower in her dorm, anyway.
Despite her heaving chest and aching muscles, it was a good session. Her assignment in Brazil had humbled her, reminded her that she had been avoiding training, instead spending most of her free time sneaking into town, and the rest of her free time trying to convince everyone around her that she wasn’t up to anything shady. That had been exhausting enough. Now she was going to throw her substantial and detailed training routine back into the mix.
With a groan, (y/n) rolled her shoulder, hoping she hadn’t actually pulled a muscle, but had just overworked one that hadn’t been properly used in a while. She brought her hand up to the junction between her arm and shoulder, feeling around as she stretched and rolled the tired limb, trying to gauge for herself if she’d need heat, or ice first.
It was a familiar holler of her name that pulled her from her internal debate, and she glanced toward the voice to see Yaga across the yard with his arm raised to get her attention.
Beside him, leaning against the wall of the building of now empty classrooms, was Satoru.
Both of them had their usual sunglasses perched on their noses, but only one of them seemed to be looking her way.
Puzzled, she slowly made her way over to them, wondering what business Yaga could have that involved the both of them. Satoru only went on solo missions these days, and there was no chance her teacher was shoving another assignment on her plate when she hadn’t scrubbed away the eye bags from the last one.
(Sure, she hadn’t done herself any favors, but he didn’t have to know that)
“I’m glad I caught you,” Yaga greeted when (y/n) was in earshot. Her eyes briefly shot from her teacher, to Satoru, who still wasn’t paying her any attention, and then back to Yaga. “Although I’m sorry to say it’s not great news I have for you two”
(y/n’s) brow furrowed in the slightest, at a loss with guessing what this could be about.
“Bad news?” She mumbled, more to herself than to either of the people beside her.
Yaga speaks, and (y/n) hears him. She takes in the words he says, follows the movement of his mouth and the microexpressions of his face as he speaks. There’s no background noise that he has to speak over, and his tone isn’t quiet. It’s clear, and certain. There’s no reason she shouldn’t register every word he says.
But he stops, and her ears are ringing, and her heart is beating so hard, so loud in her chest, that she finds herself mumbling, “what?”
“Don’t make me say it again,” Yaga sighs, and it doesn’t sound harsh like the words might imply. He sounds defeated. (y/n) can see in his face that he truly doesn’t want to repeat himself. With every fiber of his being, he doesn’t want to speak it into existence, thus acknowledging what he was saying was true.
Again, when he speaks, (y/n’s) expression remains frozen. Her eyes are wide, her jaw is dropped open, and at her sides, her hands are curling into fists. Any thought of her swords being heavy on her back have left her mind, as there is no physical weight greater than learning of the horrors someone you once loved was capable of comitting. It’s as though the rest of the world is disappearing little by little, and it’s just the three of them here, experiencing the same earth shattering revelation.
“Suguru fled after killing everyone in the village,”
(y/n) wants to turn to Satoru, maybe to gauge his reaction, maybe to reach out and offer some semblance of comfort, she’s not sure. It doesn’t matter, as she’s unable to move in the slightest. Her feet are glued, her arms are stiff, and the only movement on her entire body is a slight twitch at the corner of her left eye.
“Suguru’s parents’ home is vacant as well,” Yaga continues, and it’s clear that he’s doing everything in his power to keep his voice even. “However, from the bloodstains and the residuals… it seems he might have done the same to his parents”
He pauses, the heavy words hang in the air between the three like a poisonous gas. It’s thick, suffocating, and a devastating slice of reality that just couldn’t be true.
(y/n) had just talked to Suguru. It’s the first thought that skitters across her darkening mind. It’s just as quickly replaced with a drop in her gut, which could only be her heart plummeting to it’s untimely end.
Everything he’d told her that day replayed in her memories. And suddenly, all the odd things he’d said appeared to her as red flags. The unsettling feeling that had crept down her spine that day now came back in a full body shiver.
It’s the first noticeable movement she’s made since Yaga had broken the news. Satoru’s eyes land on her due to this, and they remain on her as their teacher continues to explain the situation. Although it seems he doesn’t have much more information.
“Satoru… (y/n)...” The man sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose in a desperate attempt to keep his composure in front of his students. “I also… have no idea what is going on”
There’s not much more for him to say. He apologizes to them both afterwards. But he can’t stand there and watch as tears gather in (y/n’s) eyes and rage begins to seep into Satoru’s facial features. So he tells them the higher ups will do the best they can, and then leaves them.
Logically, (y/n) knows she should be having a panic attack right about now. Not just from the news alone, but the guilt that had crashed over her and was now pumping through her bloodstream. Suguru had laid out what he’d been going through right in front of her, and she hadn’t been able to pick up on the obvious signs because she’d been so focused on her own issues.
With a shaky hand, she covered her mouth, afraid that she might break into a sob if she didn’t physically stop herself.
She hadn’t turned to Satoru yet, hadn’t noticed the way he was carefully watching every moment of her grief processing. If she had, she might have seen the way his hand was inching forward, his body having a mind of its own when it came to her.
Even if he had reached out to her- taken her hand or pulled her into his body and never ever letting go- Satoru doesn’t think it’s a good idea. With the bomb that had been dropped on them both, he couldn’t possibly try to calculate how such an action would cause (y/n) to react.
The last time he’d watched grief strike her, she had barely been consolable for days. He couldn’t have her shutting down, not right away, anyways.
Her phone rings, the sudden break in the heavy atmosphere causing both of them to flinch, just a little bit.
Instinct tells her to decline it, but seeing it’s Shoko, (y/n) swipes right to answer and she has the phone to her ear in seconds.
“Shoko, thank god, listen, I need to-”
“(y/n),” The girl on the other line cuts her off, and the grave tone in which she says her name is enough for (y/n) to shut her mouth. “You need to find Satoru, and you need to come meet with me. Right. Now”
They don’t exchange more than the location in town that Shoko had been, the lack of context filling itself between the gaps.
(y/n’s) hands tremble as she secures her phone in her pocket and turns to Satoru. He notices her jaw is also trembling, in the slightest anxious movement. She doesn’t have to explain the escalating situation, he’d been right there, he’d heard the whole thing, but still, she finds herself stammering over her words as she tries anyway.
“Shoko- she’s- I think she’s with him- at- somewhere in town- um- outside-”
Satoru steps forward, closing a significant amount of space between them. (y/n) stops talking immediately, and doesn’t try to explain herself again.
For a brief moment, but finally, they look at one another.
Her eyes are full of tears, but somehow she’d kept herself from actually letting herself cry in front of him. Her lip wobbles and she looks like she desperately wants to say something, but the words just don’t come out. He holds her gaze, and every bone in his body is screaming at him to comfort her. To say something to do something just to make sure she won’t cry.
But he’s just as lost as she is, and he knows all too well that there were no words that could put her at ease in this moment.
Instead, he reaches out and takes both of her hands in his, holding on tightly as what comes next wasn’t exactly pleasant for the person he brought with him.
Teleporting alone was as easy as breathing, almost second nature. Being a sort of carry-on to someone else who was teleporting always seemed to bring on a wave of motion sickness.
(y/n’s) hands squeeze his to prepare herself for the oncoming discomfort. Even though what came after the dizziness would be much, much more sickening.
“I’m taking us right now” Satoru tells her. ___

JJK MEN PRESENTS: What kind of woman they'd fall in love with and how they would fall in love. Featuring Toji Fushiguro/Zenin
•Judging by Toji's history with women in the canon verse, I believe that Toji's type of woman is the woman that is like Megumi's Mother.
•Let's put it this way, Toji left his clan broken, misunderstood and he had no one to make him feel what love really is.
•After he left his clan, Toji was a sugar baby, that's for sure. Older women loved this man and even if Toji didn't really like that part of his life he had no choice but to use his body to survive.
•Toji was more used to handling older women, he knew how to please them and as he got older, a woman at the same age as him just doesn't seem like a good fit for him.
•Toji has given up about finding true love because of this, so he just kept on accepting clients to clients and survive, as long as he's not back to that shitty clan, he'll be fine.
•That was when Toji met an innocent, young lady who only sees the good in life. He has no idea why he was even interested about whatever you do in life. You moved in at the unit next to his, you just graduated from college and you have a decent job, but Toji thinks that you're too nice.
•He first saw you when you were talking to the old man who lives across your unit. Toji just received a call from his client, and as he locks his door, he couldn't help but listen in to your conversation with the old man.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
You were busy talking to the old man across your unit, he was talking about how he loved the cookies you baked last time. You gave jars of cookies to your neighbors when you moved in and you appreciated that this old man loves it. "Thank you for the kind words, Choji-san! Don't worry, I'll make sure to save a jar for you once I baked another batch." You smiled. The old man smiled back and held your hands. "I'll look forward to it." he said as he caress your hands for quite some time, you weren't uncomfortable but you didn't want to pull away because you realized that he was a man who lives on his own he's probably missing his daughter or something.
Toji narrowed his eyes at the way that the old man was eye-fucking you while he was holding your hands. It's obvious that you have no idea what kind of a pervert this man was and Toji wanted to step in but your phone rang and you excused yourself to the old man politely and made your way to the parking lot.
Toji gave a firm look at the old man and the latter immediately entered his unit. Coincidentally, your car was parked next to Toji's, and even if he promised not to mind something that's not related to him, he couldn't help but want to give you a warning.
"Oi, Unit 27..." since he doesn't know your name, he just decided to call you by your unit's number.
You turned upon hearing a deep voice behind you, you recognized the man living next to your unit and you smiled. "Hey, good morning Unit 26." You giggled a bit.
Toji was taken aback by the warm smile and your sweet voice, it's no wonder that the old man can easily get away from being a perv with you, you look too innocent.
"You should choose who you befriend wisely." He said before he climbed up his car to go to his client's location.
It was obvious that you didn't get Toji's warning and he decided to take matters into his own hands for some reason.
He started matching his schedule with yours, sharing little moments of short chitchats and bumping into each other at the convenience store nearby. Whenever Toji is around, the old man won't make an attempt to talk to you and he made sure that he wouldn't have a chance to.
Toji wasn't sure when did he even start falling in love with you, all that he remembers and realizes is the fact that he seemed to forget anything bad whenever he's with you. You look at the brighter side of life, you're nice, you're sweet and you're too innocent for this cruel world.
Toji realized that he didn't want your innocence to be taken away from you, he wouldn't want to see that sweet smile of yours to fade, and he realized he wanted to be the one to protect that smile of yours.
His life was all about his own survival but this was the first time that he wanted to care for someone, he never knew how to because he never felt cared for before. But you showed him how, making sure he's not eating take outs, you wouldn't fail to check up on him from time to time to see what he was up to, your eyes sparks whenever he sees you.
Before he even knew it, you became the center of his life.
"Toji-san?" You waved your hands in front of Toji when you realized that he's been quiet for a long time. Toji snapped out of his thoughts and he realized how close you were.
You smiled when you finally got his attention, but blushed when you realized how close your faces are, you can see the scar on his lips up close, and for some reason, your body moved on its own.
Toji felt your warm hands touch his scar, he froze, but you gently traced the scar on his lip that he almost forgot how he got it in the first place. It was a living evidence of his family's cruelty, of how he was abused and treated like a trash.
But the look on your eyes makes him forget all of that, his hands found their way to your waist and he gently placed you onto his lap, your hands still busy tracing each of his facial features.
You softly gasped when he held you tighter and you blushed, stopping yourself from touching his face. "I'm sorry, Toji-san. I got carried away." You tried to stand up but Toji held you close.
"Drop the honorifics, doll." He breathed out.
"D-Doll?" You asked, not sure if you heard it correctly because all you could hear was the fast beat of your heart.
Toji smirked and nip your chin in between his fingers to tilt your head so he could see you better. "You look like a doll sitting on my lap right now. You're tiny and pretty." He said before pinching the tip of your nose.
You were scared, not because of Toji but because of your own feelings. You don't know if you're supposed to feel this safe in someone's arms, is it right to desire to caress his face and be this close to him every time you have the chance?
Whenever you're with Toji, he makes you feel safe, love, and cared for. You want nothing but to ease that tensed jaw of his, to bring sparks in his eyes, and if it's even possible take away everything that hurts him.
Toji could read the look in your eyes, you were silently begging and longing. He decided to be the one to take the risk and close the gap between the two of you.
The moment that he felt your lips against his, Toji could swear that this is what heaven feels like, he couldn't hold back his smile when you tried to keep up with him.
He made sure to kiss you gently and slowly, because he wouldn't want this to end anytime soon. Kissing you was not a job or something but his whole life depends on it.
When Toji pulled away from you, he let his forehead rest against yours.
"I love you, Doll."

🔥 I hang on every word you say by ColorMeParanoid/ @color-me-paranoid (Getting Together | 4K | Teen): “I couldn’t help but notice how hesitant you’ve been about getting back onto the dating scene despite saying that you’re ready,” Buck said, going for nonchalant and likely missing it by the mile. “I figured a little boost in confidence and a crash course in how to pull off a perfect first date wouldn’t hurt.” Or, the one in which Buck assumes Eddie sucks at dating and decides to do something about it
just release me, i can't take it by actualalligator/ @actualalligator (Post-Lawsuit | 5K | General): After the fight in the grocery store, Buck withdraws the lawsuit and leaves town. Maybe for good.

As the months roll by, they keep running into each other on the job, much to Eddie’s dismay and Buck’s delight. Can they put aside their first opinions and misunderstandings and allow the seeds of friendship, and possibly something more, to take root?
🔥 change the prophecy by Daisies_and_Briars/ @cal-daisies-and-briars (Alternate Timeline, Curse/Magic | 11/12 | 26K | Mature): Buck has never felt secure in any of his relationships; he’s been searching for someone to see him the way he feels he’s meant to be seen, but after things start going downhill with Tommy, he thinks that person might just not exist. Home is gone. Home is a failed rescue mission and an echo of a memory. Home is a lost boy living in a wooden house by the sea. But first, there was a promise. Christopher, when it's safe, I'll take you back to your father. Buck had all but given up on keeping it after the world had died and everyone in it. But just as some oaths refuse to be forgotten, so the same can be said about the endurance of love.

But something is missing, and the more Eddie begins to put the pieces together, the stranger the predicament he finds himself in.
Podfic
🔥 [Podfic] maybe i'll be brave enough by then by Silverkat1620/ @silverkat1620 // fic by trippedandfell/ @trippedandfell (Amnesia | 20-30min | Teen): “So,” Eddie starts, taking a long sip. “How long have I had the ring?” Hen chokes on her coffee. “I’m sorry,” she says, eyes wide behind her glasses. “What ring?” or: an amnesia au (with a twist).
🔥 [Podfic] Fire on Fire by Itty_Bitty_Blondie/ @itty-bitty-blondie for extasiswings/ @extasiswings (Quarantine, S4 | 30-45min | Teen): "You’re sleeping with him.” “I’m not—” Eddie rolls his eyes and corrects himself halfway through. “I’m not sleeping with him like that, okay?” Sophia looks at him for a long moment as her gaze turns from teasing to thoughtful. “But you want to be. Right?” [Or: Buck and Eddie get in the habit of sharing a bed while living together during quarantine. It's platonic until it isn't.]
🔥 [Podfic] Here, Beneath My Lungs by Itty_Bitty_Blondie for glorious_spoon/ @glorious-spoon (First Kiss | 5K | Teen): “Okay, okay, come on, let’s do this,” Buck says, in a trying-to-be-serious tone that just sets Eddie off again. “Come on, we’re gonna do this right. You need the full Buckley Experience.” “Someone’s confident,” Eddie manages. “I know what I’m good at,” Buck says, and something about the way he says it—grinning and smug with laughter still leaking out of the edges of his smile—makes Eddie go still.
🔥 [podfic] not all of us are heroes (not all of us are brave) by Matriaya // fic by withmeornotatall/ @chronicowboy (Post-S6, Getting Together | 45-60min | General): Buck shakes his head and grimaces apologetically at Marisol. "I'm so sorry for interrupting your night," he tells her. "I'm gonna leave you guys to it, but it was nice to see you again." "Nice to see you too," Marisol replies with a smile. "Sorry again," he addresses this one to Eddie. "I didn't think. I just—" "You thought Chris needed you," Eddie says softly, eyes so warm Buck wants to stay here forever. "Don't apologise for that." "Right, well." Buck takes a deep breath to calm his still pounding heart before saluting at Christopher. "Forever at your service, Superman." He backs out of the kitchen in an exaggerated bow, ducking to hide his smile when Christopher's laugh follows him out.
🔥 [podfic] brick by Itty_Bitty_Blondie/ @itty-bitty-blondie // fic by spqr (Post-Coma, S6, Getting Together | 1-1.5h | Explicit): The first thing Buck noticed when he walked through the door was the smell of plaster and wet paint. There was a white spot on the wall in the living room, primered but without any color yet, about the size of a man’s fist. Eddie looked sheepish. His knuckles were still bruised, scabbed over but healing. “You were in a coma,” was all he said. “Yeah,” Buck agreed. He knew the feeling.
🔥 [Podfic] I Hit the Accelerator (But the Car was in Reverse) by MistMarauder/ @mistmarauder for extasiswings/ @extasiswings , letmetellyouaboutmyfeels/ @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels (S2-3, Friends With Benefits, BDSM | 7-10h | Explicit): When Buck is forced to confront the truth about his breakup with Abby, having casual sex with his hot new coworker seems like the best rebound idea. Unfortunately, that hot new coworker turns into his best friend. But best friends can keep having sex with each other, right? There's no way this could possibly go wrong.

jjk manga spoilers !
pre-warning, i am not as well-versed in gojo/getou as i am with yuuta and toge so this might not be entirely accurate? but i had thoughts about their dynamics lol
something something toge and yuuta are parallels of what getou and gojo could have been
toge and getou, whose cursed technique actively makes them suffer, indulgent yet withdrawn, protective of their underclassmen, at the mercy of their society.
yuuta and gojo, whose cursed energy has always divided them from the people around them, who love so fiercely that they base their morality on the people around them, willing to disregard anyone else if it meant protecting them, following the whims of their society only with hope to burn it to the ground.
the biggest difference is that toge is too selfless, and yuuta is too selfish.
yuuta would watch the world burn if it meant saving the one he loved. if toge woke up one day and decided that he was done being good, he wouldn’t even have to ask for yuuta to follow him. i feel like i repeat myself, but yuuta is good because the people he loves are good. if it was a decision to let them die or save the world, the only reason he’d save the world is if he thought they’d never forgive him for choosing them. gojo is bound by his duty, by the responsibility of his strength, by the idea that there is still potential in the world to be better. yuuta is bound by nothing but his love and loyalty. he obeys because it is convenient, not because he is inherently good. at the beginning he doesn’t want to hurt people, because hurting them meant he was alone. now? hurting others is vindication, a sign of devotion, and insurance of his loved ones safety.
toge on the other hand would sacrifice his life again and again. he’d lose every limb and destroy his life in his own previous two hands if it meant doing what was right. his life isn’t even a notion of concern when entering a battle, he questions nothing because in his mind he is nothing. of course, he wouldn’t bend to unfair commands when it concerns others, but when considering the treatment of himself? his words are locked away and what care he has is reserved for those around him. he could never turn his back on their society, he could never live normally with his voice. therefore, he spends every day waiting for his voice to do him in, waiting for the last mission, waiting for the world to turn against him. getou could not control his resentment, toge never learned that he had the capability to resent. if the question is to save the world or save the people he loved, he’d find a way to change fate and sacrifice himself.
gojo and getou are inherently tragic, the hero who sacrifices the one he loves most to save the world. gojo is honor-bound by his strength, even when it means sacrificing what he loves most. getou cling to what little selfishness he had, a want for happiness, for retribution, for a better world for his adoptive daughters.
yuuta and toge somehow changed that fate for themselves, in their own flaws they turned the story on its head and refuted. maybe it’s because yuuta is too protective, maybe it’s because toge is too tired, maybe it’s everything and nothing but the neglect of a writer who still twiddles his fingers. because yuuta would never allow toge to die, because toge would never allow yuuta to feel alone again.
i love them and sometimes i get so in my feelings about their bloody hands that gently hold on to each other, anyway something something the end.

HELP your time travel shenanigans fic idea about toji being very much alive but still putting the fate of his two little ass kids in the hands of a bunch of 16-17 year olds even if he’s still breathing. if i was megumi then my abandonment issues would’ve gone crazy if that happened to me 😭. mamaguro is looking down from the pearly white gates IN ANGER at toji’s audacity i just know it.
but now i’m curious on other ideas (that you have) for fics about jjk that you may or may not get to after sea glass gardens.
see the sad thing is that letting a bunch of 16-17 year old bitchy disaster gays discover the magic of teen parenthood is actually a step up because he had already sold Megumi to the Zenin and feral wolverines would be a better alternative to them. This was the best parenting decision toji has ever made.
(Time travel!Megumi: look we don’t have any other options. Anything is better than the Zenin.
Gojo, in the distance: they’re what three? That’s old enough for a red bull
Geto: I will actually kill you over this satoru
Time travel!megumi: *deep breath*)
A loose catalogue of my jjk fics, which may or may not exist one day:
Sea glass gardens verse:
I am forever compelled by the siren call of expanding my fics into universes because one story is never enough for me. I’ve got threeish stories in this universe, with no promises of how many, if any, I’ll write.
1. The Teen Parenting Chronicles: Gojo, Nanami, and Shoko’s expert guide to raising children when you are, in fact, children. Featuring what the fuck happened with the Zenin the first time around.
2. Megumi’s pov of what just happened leading up to sea glass gardens: someone asked me if I’d ever write this and it has the highest chance of existing because I have. Sort of. Started writing it. I have impulse control issues.
3. Okkotsu Yuuta and the world’s longest distance panic attack: crack fic of Yuuta on his study abroad trip becoming increasingly more frantic at the other second year’s updates as to how His Boy’s first year as a jujutsu sorcerer is going. What do you mean sukunas there. What do you mean he doesn’t have a shirt. Well put one on him!
Time travel AU:
1. The Time Traveler’s Guide to Fucking Shit Up And Living Well: following another attempt on their lives by the higher ups, the first year gang is forced into a desperate, high stakes gamble with a time-centric curse that puts their very existences at stake. If they want to survive, they have to complete one task of their choosing in the past before the clock runs out. Their mission?
To punch fushiguros shitty bio dad in the face, something which will surely have no long term consequences on the timeline.
See this one has the most chance of actually existing one day because it is by far my FAVORITE jjk fic I have. It even beats out sea glass gardens. I desperately want to write it.
2. The 2006 Gang and the Art of a Good Union: following a confusing incident with the star plasma vessel and three unknown sorcerers, the 2006 Tokyo jujutsu high first and second year class inexplicably goes off the rails and retires from jujutsu sorcery, claiming that they’ve discovered the magic of teen parenthood and can in no way risk themselves in such a dangerous profession now that they have kids to think about. At least, not with the way things are run now.
No one knows where they got the children from.
3. Toji Fushiguro and the Dead Beat Dad Chronicles: in which toji fushiguro succeeds at being a dead beat baby daddy to two teenaged gay boys and their crew of bitchy lgbtq compadres, who in no way want him to be involved in their children’s lives.
Standalones:
1. “Fushiguro is unleashed in junpei’s school like an invasive superpredator” AU: I’ve talked about this one in way more detail in another post for an ask game, but the idea is that itadori discovers junpeis abuse at school and says Not On His Fucking Watch and escalates the matter to gojo, who decides the funniest possible solution while they try to draw out mahito is to unleash his all star delinquent son into junpeis high school to bully the bullies.
Fushiguro resents this as a problem solving strategy.
2. The Zenin raise Megumi AU: also discussed in more detail in an ask game. In which people took Tsumiki’s little brother from her, but she’s trying to get him back, she promises.
Or, in which the Zenin take megumi, leave tsumiki, and they both spend every day after fighting to get back to the other.
3. Sort of a no curse AU: Itafushi romance story, in which local himbo Itadori Yuuji falls for delinquent Fushiguro Megumi when his grandpa is placed in the room next to Fushiguros comatose sister. Starts as a no curse AU… except there’s totally curses, Tsumikis mom just moved them to Sendai without telling anyone so the Zenin never found Megumi, and he’s just never told anyone about the curses he sees because he’s worried he’s schizophrenic. He thought the shikigami thing was a metaphor for self actualization or something.
4. Fushiguro Megumi and the World’s Most Inconvenient Custody Battle: pre JJK0, Geto decides to be a shithead magic terrorist at a local school that represents all the worst of monkey society: it’s known for a rampant bullying issue, which is a breeding ground for cursed spirits, and it contributes to the risk to jujutsu sorcerers by feeding a local legend of a haunted bridge that could explode into a serious curse any day.
What he didn’t count on? Finding the new Ten Shadows in the student body, who’s fully willing to kamikaze them both if it means saving his sister’s life.
And who doesn’t seem to be aware that he more than has the potential to take suguru in a fight.
In which Fushiguro just wanted to shut up, go to school, and go home, and instead finds himself in a binding vow to give cult life a whirl to save the lives of classmates he doesn’t even like all that much.
It involves oddly more parenting than he expected.
5. Fake Fiancés AU: prodigy and noble prize winning physicist Gojo Satoru, following a very ill advised fuck buddies arrangement with fushiguro toji, has settled down into domestic bliss with the two kids he took from the relationship despite them not, in any way, being related to him. The problem? His ex is back in town. The hot one. The one who broke up with him and started a cult. The one who he wants to convince he got over when he absolutely did not do that.
The solution? Tell everyone he’s happily engaged to Nanami Kento, who cannot express enough how much he does not want him to do that.
… until, all of a sudden, he needs a show of domestic bliss himself. His adoptive son’s older brother, sukuna, has crawled out of the woodwork and decided to make a play for custody himself. And Nanami does not know what Sukuna truly wants, but he knows it does not have Yuuji’s best interests at heart.
I share custody of this story with my best friend, who cocreated it with me over deranged text message. I may convince her to joint write it with me if I ever get her to publish her fanfic.
6. Todo Aoi and Schrodinger’s Boyfriend: Todo’s beloved brother, who is most assuredly a man, suffers some kind of terrible brain damage that leads him to confess he loves an assless boy. Todo cannot abide by this, until it’s pointed out to him that if Fushiguro’s type is his brother, that would make him the most interesting man alive. If it is not, he continues to be a boring and uninteresting boy.
Todo sets off on a mission with two goals: determine if fushiguro megumi is interesting, and get him to do some squats. because there’s simply no ass there.
Fushiguro wonders why his life is suddenly harder.
7. Choso and the Art of Being a Big Brother: choso discovers the truth of kenjaku early and does the only logical thing in response: he kills his father in his sleep, cuts out his brain, and delivers it in a jar to his new brother Itadori Yuuji as the first step in wooing him into domestic sibling love.
Megumi doesn’t know where these people come from. Or why all of them think itadori is their brother.
8. SatoSugu realizes their little boy is all grown up when he gets his first crush on a boy when he meets yuuji.
They do not fucking take it with grace.
Also co-written with my best friend via text message.
9. The instagram chronicles: crack fic in which the jujutsu sorcery personnel crisis gets worse, because nobara Kugisaki keeps trying to hard launch her instagram influencer career, and keeps accidentally making every jujutsu sorcerer instagram famous except for her
10. So I don’t actually ship Yuuta and Megumi, but I do really like the idea of low stakes relationships? Like, especially for teen romances. You tried it, decided you were better off as friends, and just went back to being friends. I just like the idea of fumbling around in relationships and getting a sense of boundaries and what you’re interested in without it being a big, world-shaking romance. It seems like a more realistic portrayal of high school relationships than every one of them being this world-defining mature love.
Pre season 1 but post JJK 0, Yuuta and Megumi dated for maybe a month and half, held hands maybe twice, and decided that they were better off as friends and parted on good terms. The issue?
No one realized they were dating. And when it is realized, everyone thinks their relationship was torpedoed because the second years kept inviting themselves onto their dates.
Cue the jjk high school students trying to amend old mistakes and get Yuuta and Megumi back together, who do not, in fact, want to be back together. Headlining Inumaki Toge, who is half in love with Yuuta and does not know why he’s helping get him together with someone else, and Itadori Yuuji, who is half in love with Megumi and also does not know why he’s helping get him together with someone else.
#I want to go on record that fushiguro expertly crafted a binding vow to get out of that time travel thing and the task was going to be ‘try#that ramen place that closed down before we could’ until yuuji said ‘haha fushiguro why don’t we go punch your shitty bio dad in the face’#and now they’re doing this he guesses#Yuuji didn’t think it would activate like that okay#it was mostly an accident but also he really fucking hates megumis dad#he’s cultivated seething resentment towards him since Megumi in an act of rare vulnerability confessed that his dad sold him to the Zenin as#a kid and that’s why gojo has custody#he. really wants to punch that guy. he REALLY wants to punch him.#the time travel AU exists in parallel with sea glass gardens#sea glass gardens is its backstory but it’s not an official continuation of that makes sense#it’s an AU of my own AU if that makes sense

FANTASY VERSES: JJK EDITION!
satoru gojō: satoru comes from a family of well known magic users and possesses two great abilities that haven’t been seen together in his family for a long time. because of this, his family attempts to keep him hidden because of his sheer strength that only grows as he gets older ( exactly like his canon ). once he becomes of age, satoru leaves his family’s kingdom / realm / territory to travel around, helping people and charming them. he maintains his reputation as an incredibly strong magic user / sorcerer, but he also gains a reputation of being charming almost to annoyance or falsity. his real self is masked behind a charming façade which is only dropped once he feels loved and offers that love in return, whether it be platonic or romantic.
suguru getō: suguru was born as the only magic user in his entire clan, and decided to leave as a teenager to find someone to train him. his arc ends in one of two ways: the first way, he comes to resent non - magic users for how they treat him and other users and he avoids them at all costs, living with others who feel the same and scheming a way to build a world without them. the second, he is able to find help and support with his feelings of resentment and moves to a small village to raise his daughters. his daughters are present in both versions of this verse as they are incredibly important to who he is as a person and to his character development.
nanami kento: nanami kento grew up in a family of magic users and was expected to use it to help people. he decided, however, it wasn’t for him as a young adult and moved to a larger city in his kingdom / realm / territory to do more administrative work for his king or queen, depending on the specific universe. however, nanami soon began to find this work dull and found himself yearning for the gratification that came from helping people with his magic. because he cannot quit his position in the kingdom, likely because he becomes a lord, he moonlights as a mercenary of sorts and helps others with his magic under the cover of night.
#HC: SATORU GOJŌ.#HC: SUGURU GETŌ.#HC: NANAMI KENTO.#satoru in his fantasy verse is very howl pendragon core to me#i wish i could draw id put him in that slutty white shirt NOW#i’ll update this w megumi when i think of a verse for him

hello everyone please enjoy the first post i've made in my writing blog in easily 6 months and it's just to yell about the fucking center venn diagram point for two big fixations
now you might be wondering "angeles when you start moving towards other fandoms will you still be nootboots" and the answer is yes, its my brand, but also ace attorney has a fucking vice grip on my neurodivergent mentally ill ass
as a side note i am too much of an idiot to remember to read the manga but i know Points Of Interest and when I can sit for a good bit and consume it I will, so bear with my anime main knowledge
Anyways consider the concept of family clans in JJK and the Sahdmadhis and their shit in SOJ. Obviously, we see how shit happened with maki her sister and how that works, and clearly the clans are structured differently depending on the family (what the fuck is going on with gojo. love that funky little manic twink but. What.)
And yes, AA and JJK get to hold hands because of Higuruma, which means I now get to think of both of them and daydream about crossovers, and y'know what? In the JJK verse, you can reasonably explain so much shit, especially w/ Khurai'inism and bloodlines, because Khura'in's designated holy figure being a super cool badass hundreds of years ago with an equally badass sister? Sorcerers who kicked ass. Hella sorcerers who kicked ass. would be special grades without a doubt if they were alive today.
and like cursed techniques having genetic tie ins ALSO FUCKING SLAPS because that's a huge factor! you can also explain why the feys and the sahdmadhis have spirit channeling because *it's the same fucking bloodline* and it's not a stretch to say someone was kicked out of the clan, fucked off, and then those traits started popping up again in later generations
that aside, clan hierarchy also gives a nice port over from an actual extra country that capcom decided now exists, because instead of a ruling kingdom family it's a Big Fucking Clan With A Lot Of Weight To It
(And also makes sense then why when the revolution starts up, nobody steps in to do shit. interfering with another clan's family drama? no fucking thank you. not my paygrade.)
also i just think nahyuta would be really fun as a sorcerer and their rosary beads would DEFINITELY be a weapon for cursed spirits and their title as "last rites prosecutor" would doubly fuck
Unrelated to SOJ but still on the AA train, this also means that Simon Blackquill is just. Always busting out cursed techniques. And since nobody can see it they think he just slices shit with his fingers. And that's fucking hilarious to think about, the idea that someone probably got after him for it and he went "Consider this though: who is going to ask questions with the everything else i have going on", because Simon "Definitely Uses The >:3c Emoji When He Is Texting" Blackquill refuses to fucking listen to people.
"You're going to expose sorcerer society to the masses" Wrong. Everyone is going to think he can cut shit with his fingers because he's a scary samurai man who went to prison for murder and clearly this is something that tracks for that persona.
#angeles blogs#not fic stuff#ace attorney#jujutsu kaisen#jjk#nahyuta sahdmadhi#simon blackquill#hi aa fandom its Been A Minute#hi jjk fandom i am New Here and I Have Ideas#i have too much brainrot for my me and friends can testify to this
