Some quick sketches of character development. She is a very angry sheep. (it was a good excuse to draw Crane, Decans and Decay!Papyrus too)

Here's most of my storyshift take done, and i most likely won't work on it again for a while (someone called it boring and i'm a sensitive little baby who needs to grow the fuck up but that's not important), so uhh, yeah. Also, undyne's a vtuber because i thought it would be funny lmao. anyway, i'm probably gonna disappear again for a while because I don't have the energy to make more stuff so bye.

just a quick stop
finally, the full fic of weird fluffy kist that i have been agonizing over...
(cw: violence, minor character death, a bit spicy - lime on the citrus scale)
killer and dust have been trekking through the dark endless space for a while. killer has been chattering nonstop, filling the empty void with his voice, which dust appreciates. were he to be left floundering in the silence, he'd go crazy just like the many unfortunate souls that have stumbled into this non-place.
this "multiverse station" doesn't seem to have an attendant, only an eerie display of monster dust and decayed human bodies scattered sparsely throughout. yet, killer doesn't seem to be deterred a single bit. he's confidently announced that they would get out of here and back on track to their scheduled date in a mobfell universe.
"trust me, honeyboo," killer gestures with his hand waving around like an excited kid. he's leading dust with his other with his other hand nestled in dust's. the handhold is securely warm in contrast to the chilly void. "my intuition is never wrong. we're definitely on the right path."
your boyfriend is a dumbass, brother, papyrus sighs, floating next to dust.
"i know, bro," he murmurs, smirking into his scarf.
killer turns around, as if hearing what he said. "huh? have something to say, dusty?"
"nothing. guide us through this darkness, o wise guy," dust replies.
killer tilts his head, his signature grin widening. "sure thing, lover boy~"
they walk and walk and walk until dust sees something in the far distance - a white light in the black void. killer, still holding his hand, runs towards the light. dust stumbles as he's dragged along. as they get closer to the light, dust can see it is fragments of some sort of dilapidated train station. there sit three wooden benches in various stages of damage. next to one is a sign in an undecipherable language, along with an equally incomprehensible map, probably of the available pathways. a single bright lamp illuminates the area. as killer fawns over the map, dust stands back idly and makes a mistake looking up at the lamp post - he quickly turns away when he realizes there is a white soul trapped inside the lantern, pulsing slowly. fortunately, before dust can think about it, killer whistles at him and beckons him over.
when dust languidly makes over to killer, the hybrid-souled being speaks animatedly, "looks like we're at this stop point," he points to a faded star mark on the map. "if we want to make it to our destination, we can just go straight ahead from here."
killer traces a long-winded path to another symbol on the map. dust doesn't claim to know much about the jumble that is multiverse travel, so he has no choice but to trust his partner.
"but how can we travel to there?" he asks. "your token is out of juice."
killer gives him an impish grin. "we wait."
and so wait they do. the couple rests on the bench nearest to the station sign, with dust sitting in a corner and killer lounging indulgently, wrapping one arm behind dust's shoulders. bored out of his mind, dust pulls out his cigarette pack and puts one in his mouth. he searches for the lighter in his pockets, only to hear a click right next to him. turning to his left, he sees killer holding out the lighter with the flame on, an inviting wink flashing his face. amused, dust leans in to light the end of the cig, keeping his gaze on killer, whose cheshire smile doesn't wane the whole time. dust leans back and lets out a puff of smoke. he can feel killer's gaze on him.
"so, what else can you put in your mouth, bunny?"
dust glances at killer from the corner of his eye socket. the other skeleton is resting his chin on his closed fist, a mischievous grin on his face. dust looks him up and down before replying dryly.
"you're that bored?"
"maybe i am. maybe you should help me entertain myself."
dust scoffs lightly, but still indulges his boyfriend. "you want a fight then?"
"if that fight involves that mouth of yours, then yeah."
without further prompting, killer slides off his seat and crawls into dust's lap, kneeling over his slouching figure. from dust's point of view, the white light from the lamp washes over killer like a soft halo, his face obscured by the darkness, only somewhat lit by that red soul of his. the shape of the soul is wavering somewhere between an upside-down heart and a target, making dust consider killer carefully. extinguishing the cig on the handle of the bench, he slowly reaches his hand to cup killer's cheek.
"this okay?" he asks quietly, to which killer answers, nuzzling into his hand.
"yeah."
dust guides killer down towards him and nips the corner of his mouth, trailing small pecks along the jaw. he feels killer shiver and doubles his efforts, quickly moving his mouth down killer's neck - or at least the parts not covered by killer's turtleneck that is - while helping killer taking his jacket off his body. dust lets his teeth graze near the nape of killer's neck, smirking into the turtleneck when he feels killer grabbing onto his arms and pulling him closer. dust complies, snaking his hand up inside killer's shirt while teasing him with lazy kisses and half-licks around his mandible. killer's bones are scarred under dust's hand, but dust pays them no mind as he lightly caresses his lover's sternum.
impatient, killer grabs dust's skull with both hands and pulls him into a biting kiss, nipping and growling into it, which only stirs dust into doing the same. the wet, breathy sounds of them exploring each other's mouths echo in the empty void. killer lightly grinds on dust's lap, smiling as he feels dust jerk in surprise. the hooded skeleton only tightens his grip on killer's lower ribs, which prompts a quiet moan out of killer.
but there's something else too, a piercing whine coming out of somewhere.
dust is the first to pull back, his face flushing blue and his tone breathless as he whispers, "did you hear that?"
killer smirks at him, not looking as out of breath as his lover is. "might be our ticket out of here."
with that, they hide behind the rubble of the station, both of them eagerly watching whichever unfortunate soul has wandered in here. it's not long before they see a dog monster approach the bright lamp and survey the map, looking as confused as dust was previously. killer and dust look at each other, silently communicating with their eyes, before each of them move in the opposite direction, effectively circling their unknowing victim.
killer is fast, throwing a knife at the dog monster before dust can formulate a plan. the dog monster startles and howls as the knife penetrates into their thigh. they collapse, and dust, not wanting killer to steal his kill, quickly raises a barrage of bones piercing through their head, dusting them right away. it's all over under one minute.
"aw babe, really?" killer whines as dust feels the exp running through his body, making him shiver. "you gotta have to take those measly exp?"
dust shrugs. "payback for last time you stole my kill."
killer sticks out his tongue, unapologetic. "i still have next time. by the way, what's in their inventory?"
dust, as the winner of the short-lived battle, rustles through the dust pile to see some gold coins, a notebook of some kind, and finally a travel token. picking up the token, he checks the thing for any forgery then throws it at killer. killer catches the thing with one hand and inspects it with his softly lit eyelight.
"is it enough?" dust asks, relieved to see killer nod.
"should be enough for our trip. we can always take more from another."
"finally," dust breathes out, and killer chuckles, putting his arm around dust's shoulders.
"don't be so impatient, mon beau," he whispers near dust's skull. "after the dinner, we can continue what we did back there."
dust stares at killer, trying hard to stop the blush forming on his face. he mumbles angrily as both of them swiftly disappears from the station. truly, killer should be glad he's dust's boyfriend, else he would be forced to eat concrete right now.

Dumb drabbles I might colour because I need to keep my hands occupied.
Already drew Dream sleeping on cross while he works out. Nothing fairer than Cross sleeping on Dream while he does chores.
Additionally, I've been thinking recently... Cross likes Swap's tacos. Who's been stated to put random stuff, like glue and glitter, on them.
Does cross like the taste of glitter? Does he not mind, simply?
(On a small tangent, do you think Ink would consider them art, and refuse to eat them? Do you think he'd frame them, and mourn them like he mourns Error's destruction when they inevitably decay? Would watchinghis efforts to preserve art over the years teach him how to cope with loss, and how to better problem-solve to defend the things that he, in his own way, adores?)
(Food as a metaphor of love, but its not about consumption!!! Lmao)
Also, I absolutely love the idea that Swap taps his feet against the floor and crosses his arms when he's mad. It just seems like something most of the characters with a papyrus leaning personality would do.
Also! Aren't both Dream and Cross based on a swap? I am not sure about Cross, in special, because while he has a shitton of traits that indicate it, I have never seen it be stated in an explicit manner. Dream is just a body thing, I don't think it really affects his personality.
But,,, ain't it neat????
ALSO! dream and Cross have *so many* drapey bits. It's comical.

I’m not sure if this has been asked yet but main skeles reactions to their S/O wanting tattoos, or already having them!!
Undertale Sans - He doesn't think much of it. It's your life, your body, so do what you want with it? If you ask him for his opinion on getting one, he will tell you to do whatever you want. He can help you choose if you really need his help.
Undertale Papyrus - He's excited. He didn't know humans could do that and now he's very curious about it. He would love to have one matching yours but he waits to see how one tattoo goes first lol. He's not too sure about the needle but you telling him it doesn't hurt that much is comforting him a little. Maybe one day, who knows.
Underswap Sans - He didn't know humans do that too. Blue has a few of them, except it's closer to engraving, directly on the bones. It disappears after a few years though, because the bone slowly regenerates. He finds it cool yours stays forever! He would love to try!
Underswap Papyrus - He was really exciting about all the possibilities you can draw and everything. Until he came with you to watch you get tattooed. As soon as the tattoo artist shows him the needle, Honey turns suddenly very pale and passes out before they even have time to touch you. Yep, no, he's good. He doesn't need a tattoo after all.
Underfell Sans - Like Blue, he has a lot of engraved bones so he's not too surprised humans are doing the same. He finds it cool actually, you two can match now! That would probably make him feel a little better as well, as Red didn't really choose to have them. When you have low HP in his world, anything to look more scary is good to have.
Underfell Papyrus - Edge has still some engraved bones from his childhood that Red kinda forced him to do, and he hated it. Edge doesn't like people touching his bones. He's fine with you getting some though, even if he's cringing the whole time while you're getting tattooed.
Horrortale Sans - Well, good for you? He's not sure why you like it so much since it hurts you everytime you're doing it, but he's not judging. If it makes you happy, it makes him happy, he's not difficult.
Horrortale Papyrus - He's not sure what's the point in this, but he can tell it makes you happy so good for you? It's pretty though, and he won't stop telling it to you. He likes pretty art.
Swapfell Sans - He can respect you trying to get more scary. He's not sure about your Disney drawing to do that though. Are you even trying to be scary? What's the point of getting your skin engraved if it's not to look scary? He's flabbergasted.
Swapfell Papyrus - Like Nox, he's a bit confused about why you're doing this. You're on the Surface, you don't need to look scary??? Also it hurts! He knows that, he had a dozen of these before. When he sees you're tattooing a unicorn, he's even more confused. Ok, what are you doing? Do you want to suffer for nothing? Do humans do that for fun or something??? Why? That's for sure one thing he doesn't like about humanity.
Fellswap Gold Sans - ??????? Why are you engraving his name into your arm? Don't you know what your own name is? Why are you stealing his?? He gives you the judging stare, the one insulting your intelligence. When you tell him you're doing that to have a forever memory of him, he's even more confused. He's standing literally right next to you and he will live 300 more years than you??? Shouldn't he be the one to do that? How are you going to have a memory of his name if you're dead and decaying? What? Why are you looking at him like that? Humans are so weird.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - He wants to cry when you ask him to draw something for you so you can tattoo him on you. He puts everything he has in the drawing, and he's so happy with the final result. It makes him feel even more special. He's happy you're happy.

I don’t think I could do it all again.
(very) short ficlet based on a post by @akemiiya. will i make a part 2? probably! will i make it soon? no clue.
Flowey wasn’t sure why it happened, but he knew when it did. One moment he was smiling, sharing a laugh with his stupid skeleton friend. And the next, he wasn’t.
The faint sting of the wind was gone, and the air hung down, cold and stiff on his petals. The fresh scent, too, some marriage of pumpkin spice and the edge of an incoming winter, replaced by moss and the dampness of old decaying cavern walls. And before he opened his eyes, he knew. He was back.
Flowey supposed it shouldn’t be a surprise. How many times had he retracted a happy ending, wiped smiles off of faces and replaced them with the typical boredom that came with the mundanity of life in the Underground, before Flowey came again and again to try to squeeze in just a bit of excitement. Happy endings grew boring. He knew that.
But Chara—or whoever was pulling that human’s strings—he’d begged them, implored them to take his memories too. Even after this time, after the sappiness the souls had given him had seeped away leaving nothing but an (admittedly strong) echo, he still couldn’t find it in him to just take the monsters’ souls. Even if they didn’t remember, he did, and he…
He knew it was stupid, and weak, and cowardly and foolish, but… he couldn’t hurt them again. Even Frisk… Sure, the sicko behind them had reset. But Frisk hadn’t. And much as he hated to admit it, he’d seen their mutilated, torn up body enough times to last him a lifetime.
What could he do?
Just then, Flowey heard the crunch of feet in front of him. And there they were. Months of aging reversed. Just like that. Whatever growth Flowey had done in that time was undone too. He tried not to let the thought dig too far into his mind, but it fastened there like a burr and wouldn’t let go.
All the time he’d spent up there. Getting to know Frisk. Hanging out with Papyrus. It was over. It didn’t even happen.
If a tree falls down in a forest, does it make a noise?
If no one remembers that you were friends, were you ever really…?
Flowey ducked into the ground, blankfaced, before Frisk could see the expression break.

hnghhhhh thinking about how chara not only sees killer as a 'friend', a 'partner-in-crime', but potentially a 'sibling' too. just thinking how chara would say to killer "asriel and i always wanted a younger sibling" while smiling and crushing him with their hug. chara is teaching killer about the world, just like what they used to do with asriel when they were alive. like, chara's relationship with asriel can be so fucked up, but we'll never know. i do think that chara genuinely loves asriel and views him as basically better than them in every way. yet, everything chara touches just decays and turns to dust. i think chara would hate flowey because he is an inferior version of what asriel is supposed to be (and also a possible mirror of chara's self and ideology), yet they would still care for him because that is/was asriel. i imagine that hatred for flowey naturally transfers to killer as well. chara cares for killer but they also want to rip him apart.
idk how killer would take being seen as a sibling figure to chara. would that somewhat trigger his emotions and memories for papyrus? maybe he subconsciously leans into it because it's something familiar and safe to him. maybe he enjoys small moments of chara comforting him, only to endure terrible things afterwards. bcabdcjbaks this is so sad 😭😭 dysfunctional/doomed siblings always kill me...
~ crowshipping anon
Uhdodje. I love the sibling angle with Killer and Chara too—really I wouldn’t be at all surprised at all if their relationship went through phases of just about everything. Strangers, mentor/teacher, child/parent, friends, partners in crime, siblings, enemies. We have no clue just how long they spent together—no one being really real enough in their eyes to measure up to the other.
It also gave me the thought of something like, Killer often instinctively leaning into this dynamic because it feels familiar for reasons he doesn’t fully understand, but whenever Chara turns on him or hurts him after, there’s always this ache in his soul that he can’t place. He knew it was coming, it always does—so why does it still cause his body to behave as if it’s something so genuinely soul crushing. As if there was some type of betrayal, as if there was anything for Killer to have ever lost in the first place.
They aren’t actually siblings, after all. He doesn’t even know what having one felt like. (Just this sense of something like, “I had a sibling once. You took me from him” that Killer just can’t actually fully understand or comprehend in Stage 2.)

I Did Nothing Productive All Day...
Tumblr media
If I had the money to fund my own fighting game....well, this wouldn't be my first pick but screw it I'm in a funk and I need something to fiddle with. If I were able to do this I'd like it to be a 2D fighter in a similar graphics engine to Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Strive. Technically a four button fighter (Light, Medium, Heavy, Dash) but with a fifth "Contract" button which would.....uhhh.....I dunno do some kind of faustian bargain mechanic attack, like the Infinity Stones from MVCInfinite but with even more broken utility and a health cost to balance it? Or fuck it, just have it be the tag attack button for a 2v2 mode. Dash would be a medium strength lunge attack going up to 10 feet.
Actually y'know what? Easy EX Moves at 6% of your health! Just hitting this button (and a single directional input) gives you easy access to otherwise hard to trigger EX Moves when you need it but at the cost of some health. Thing is that spent health is now treated as Provisional Damage, you'd be able to get it back if you manage to perform that same EX Move (and successfully hit with it) using the intended but difficult Meter Burn button input. Of course if you get hit before you do this you lose that spent health permanently. The "Contract" button would stop working the moment you hit 5% of a given round.
I'd have the combo system be KI 2013 to a T, as such it would have a combo breaker system that's actually worth a damn to the point you wouldn't really need a comeback mechanic, having a damage decay to prevent TOD Combo bullshit. Supers would be real time and implement a meter system like KI, two stocks max, at least one of a character's supers would require both bars. I'd of course have a regular NRS style method to use EX Moves, needing at least 50% of a single bar to use. If a comeback mechanic must be implemented I'd have it be a Fatal Blow that does up to 60% damage in one go but then disables your access to EX Moves, Supers and even the "Contract" button. _______________________________________________________ [LAUNCH ROSTER; At best this would more than likely be an indy project, expectations for a big roster would have to be significantly tempered. At best I could see it launching with a minimum of 8.]
FRISK (Was banished to Hell by cultists, now fights to escape this waking nightmare.) A pretty straight forward stance character, changing up normals by switching between the fast but weak Knife, the medium stat Baseball Bat and the strong but slow Axe. Specials and Supers would be the same across all three stances, even having 3 unique specials that allow for instant switching during combos. Would have an exclusive Spot Dodge like Videl, one that can be EX'ed leading into a counter attack. Finally, a secret 10 second super mode that sees Frisk suddenly gaining powers similar to Sans, replacing the spot dodge with an Ultra Instinct dodge and giving brief access to Ermac style command grabs.
CHARLIE (Seek to claim Frisk's soul in a bid to protect them from the rest of Hell.) We have SF6 Manon at home. A decent array of command grabs that see Charlie forcing the opponent into brief spurts of ballroom dancing or ballot. Would also have some short range fire zoning that go about mid range, more for applying pressure than outright projectile spamming. Would also have a "sticky grenade" mechanic similar to KI 2013 Cinder, costing some meter to plant a will-o-wisp (max of 1) that can be detonated to break through the opponent's block.
PAPYRUS (A defective Revenant that has befriended Frisk, the first real friend that he even had.) A character prone to "falling to pieces" much like Nadia Fortune and MK1 Havik, using detachable limbs as both bludgeoning objects and makeshift boomerang weapons. In addition he'd have access to magic "bone traps" that come off like variations of Terry Bogard's Power Wave and Shang Tsung's Ground Skull. Would even have a "Blue Attack" super that momentarily disables the opponent's ability to jump for at least 8 seconds.
VAGGIE (Charlie's wife, helping the princess in her efforts to save Frisk.) Pretty much a greatest hits compilation of Kitana, Mileena and Jade. To this end I'd have her adopt the use of a three sickle blade throwing glaive as both a melee weapon and boomerang projectile, saving her spear for hard hitting specials and supers.
UNDYNE (Hell Knight servant of Lilith Morningstar sent to acquire Frisk before anyone else.) A small vicious collection of command parries in merfolk form, even having the ability to reflect the opponent's projectiles right back to them. Would have a pretty straight forward spear toss and a few takes on MK1 Shang Tsung's Bed of Spikes. Would have an "Undying" mechanic similar to KI 2013 T.J.Combo's Last Breath.
ANGEL DUST (A porn star that needs that 666 Trillion bounty on Frisk's head for..."freedom"...) Pretty much a hyper sexualized version of VS Series Spiderman but with the added flourish of a pair of Chicago Typewriters. Would have the most easy to spam projectiles but with an ammo count mechanic to keep track off, projectiles fired cannot do chip damage to blocking opponents.
FLOWEY (A mysterious entity who has a vested interest in Frisk and those that pursue them.) Smallest character bar none reaching up to Frisk's leg in height. Would pretty much be Smash Bros Piranha Plant with the added utility of vine whipping attacks and "Friendliness Pellets" that can be guided in diagonal trick shots. Would also have a hidden 10 second "Omega Flowey" super mode that transforms them into a hideous monstrosity fastened to the ceiling.
ALASTOR (Seeking to control Charlie, he too goes after Frisk to use them as deal making leverage.) We have MK1 Quan-Chi at home, also a bit of MKX Shinnok. _______________________________________________________ [ARCADE MODE BOSSES]
ADAM (Seeks to use Frisk's soul to complete the "Seven Hearts Ceremony" which will give him dominion over both Heaven and Hell.) Proverbial Goro of the game. We have SC6 Azwel at home. His ego leaves him prone to taunting the player leaving him open to attack for brief moments. Is able to recover health but this also leaves him open to attack.
ASRIEL THE GOD OF HYPERDEATH (In desperation Adam makes a deal with Flowey, dooming the first man to become the new vessel for the very eldritch deity that those cultists worship. There is no Adam anymore, only Asriel Dreemurr.) Final Boss. Pretty much what would happen if GG Justice, MVC1 Onslaught and MVC3 Dark Phoenix hate fucked in a hateful threeway, producing an extremely hateful baby best described as Borderline SNK Boss Syndrome. Would be an absolute mistake to make them playable. _______________________________________________________ [ADDITIONAL ROSTER; Hopefully I'd be able to give these extra characters as free updates.]
ALPHYS (Quit her job at Vox Industries in protest of him using HER tech to try and kill a child! As such she befriends Frisk.) Pilots a mech that would make Tron Bonne jealous. Said mech having a similar fram to GG Potemkin, boasting a host of built in weapons and tricks similar to MVC1 War Machine and Injustice Lex Luthor.
CHERRI BOMB (Angel Dust's ride or die best friend, helping him to acquire that 666 Trillion Bounty.) Pretty much what would happen if Cyrax's infamous Bomb was hit with gamma radiation and mutated into a whole move set onto itself. Normals involve extensive use of a crowbar.
SUSIE (Yet another in an ever increasing lists of demons pining for that 666 Trillion Bounty.) A towering beast with a battle axe, a few rudimentary magic spells and enough mass to and muscle to turn SF3 Hugo into a chew toy.
HUSK (The Radio Demon's slave sent to hinder Charlie and Vaggie at every turn possible.) Basically what would happen if VS. Series Wolverine suddenly grew wings giving him air combo supremacy. Might have access to a "Booze" mechanic that gives him brief bursts of strength and aggression at the cost of sluggish controls.
BURGERPANTS (A disgruntled fast food employee that sees the 666 Trillion bounty as a retirement fund there for the taking.) Has gone completely postal, using the pump action shotgun he got his hands on as both melee weapon and projectile launching device, even uses it to do blast propelled air dashes and double jumps. Has a whole back pack of other severe abuses of the second amendment.
STOLAS (An old friend of the Morningstar family, was asked to keep tabs on Charlie making sure she doesn't go rogue.) We have Smash Bros Ganondorf at home (albeit significantly faster). Borrows a few tricks from the KI 2013 Hisako playbook. Many of his more devastating moves emulate Dracula from the Castlevania series.
METTATON EX (Seeks the 666 Trillion bounty to revitalize his currently floundering fast food chain.) Jojo Poses, Jojo Poses Everywhere. Majority of normals would have heavy emphasis on kicking much like Eddie Gordo and Han Juri, saving his robotic arms for the Heavy button and certain hook shot specials. Would also get a 10 second "Mettaton NEO" super mode gaining air dashes and more hard hitting projectile spam.
LUCIFER (The King of Hell, forced to step onto the streets upon hearing news that his daughter Charlie is "misbehaving"...) Borderline MVC3 Vergil tempered by joke character quirks, would probably be the first to get banned from tournament play. _______________________________________________________ [POSSIBLE GUEST CHARACTERS; Where the real money is made. Would not be even remotely possible to offer these as free updates. Also I'd just bunch them all into a single slot similar to how the DLC was handled in MK9, requiring you to hit down additional times to cycle through the available characters.]
V1 (Ultrakill) (Frisk activated this "forbidden robot" to escape the V's, not fully knowing just what it was they unleashed....) An absolute monster twisting the very concept of the "shoto fighter" into a display of violence and brutality that would make even Akuma wince. I would also have V1 utilize a nasty command grab or two that drains blood from the opponent to heal itself.
POMNI (Amazing Digital Circus) (A client of the Hazbin Hotel, has become fiercely loyal to Charlie for being given house and home.) If DBF Ginyu was shorter and had crippling anxiety, summoning Ratha, Zooble and Jax for an array of MK1 Kameo style assists. On her own she would have "game glitches" that let her teleport relentlessly.
PEPPINO (Pizza Tower) (Papyrus ordered a pizza for Frisk, now this madman is hellbent on delivering said pizza in 30 minutes or less.) Would be grapple and rushdown god devoid of projectiles and other such extraneous abilities, human combat in its most purest form.
ROXY THE WOLF (FNAF Security Breach) (A pizzaria animatronic that Papyrus reprogrammed to hinder the Radio Demon.) We have GG Ino at home. Would also have a "Damaged State" mechanic gaining new more monstrous specials the more damage she takes during the match.
JUDGEMENT (Helltaker) (One of the feared Furies sent to quell the sudden escalation of chaos.) We have MKX Takeda at home REVENGEANCE!!! Would have masochist abilities to hurt herself gaining drastic boosts in strength and speed for brief moments (losing her ability to do combos for the duration).
SPAWN (Allies himself with Frisk out of pure spite for both the Overlords of Hell and the Morningstar Family.) Look I know the legal hoops and budget draining fees it would take to get this guy but just let me dream dammit! I'd have him be the best that MK11 Spawn had to offer with all the bad fat trimmed out, given a good helping of SF4 Oni to give him an added sense of "last person to fuck with".

I want to talk about Phantom!Papyrus.
Not Dust’s hallucination, no. I’m talking fanon Phantom, Papyrus’ actual ghost, and what a genuinely cool character concept that is.
Imagine that you are Papyrus. You’re outgoing and outwardly confident. You’re a pacifist. You’re lonely, with only two real, close friends - your mentor Undyne, and your brother Sans. You would trust either of them with your life.
And then Sans kills you.
The circumstances of this vary depending on level of canonicity and personal headcanons. I generally imagine that Sans waits until he has a pretty high LV before attacking Papyrus, so the fight is over relatively quickly (not because Papyrus is weak, but because at this point Sans does so much damage per attack that it doesn’t take too many hits to win, and I don’t think Papyrus would fight back - not violently enough to survive, anyway.)
Papyrus dies… and comes back.
How does this happen? Again, up to personal headcanon. For this post, I’ll say he becomes a ghost due to the violent circumstances of his death, and follows Sans because his dust is on the scarf Sans carries.
At first, Papyrus would be horrified. He’d be furious with his brother, and heartbroken too - this person he loved and trusted just murdered him! Maybe there would even be a moment of him wanting revenge, wanting Sans to pay for what he did.
But regardless of his actions, Sans is still Papyrus’ brother, which means Dust is too. And this is where things get interesting.
As Papyrus watches, Dust makes his way through the Underground, killing indiscriminately. If this is really Papyrus’ ghost, he’d be horrified by what’s happening. He’d beg Dust to stop, try everything he could to end the violence.
It wouldn’t work. How could it? Dust has already gone too far. He killed his brother for this, he’s not stopping now. But after leaving Snowdin, he enters the domain of the Underground’s most dangerous fighters. Papyrus is left to watch in terror as his brother faces Undyne, captain of the royal guard and Papyrus’ best friend.
He has a decision to make. As a ghost, he can’t attack. He can’t get in between them, and he can’t make himself visible to Undyne. The most he can do is talk to Dust, argue and beg for him to stop fighting. So that is what he does - Papyrus takes every chance he can to fly in Dust’s line of sight, yell at him, distract him. And it works.
As the fight goes on, Dust becomes more and more distracted by his brother’s ghost. His magic attacks miss. He doesn’t dodge in time. For a moment, Papyrus is relieved - until he realizes that Undyne isn’t letting up. The moment Dust goes on the defensive, Undyne presses forward, unleashing attack after attack until Papyrus realizes she isn’t just going to capture his brother.
She intends to kill him.
Undyne steps forward. Dust falls back. Undyne readies her spear. Papyrus looks at his brother and beneath the hood he sees an icy terror wash over his face, a sense of defeat, desperation, and despair.
(What is worth more? His brother’s life? Or his ideals?)
Papyrus flies over. Years of training flash through his mind as he whispers into his brother’s hood. “As she raises her spear, send one bone attack into her side, and a second from above. She won’t be able to block both attacks.”
Dust attacks. Undyne staggers. Papyrus watches his brother kill his best friend.
At this point they’re both guilty. Papyrus refuses to aid Dust in attacking innocents, but if he ever seems about to lose a combat, Papyrus is there to point out weaknesses, tricks and attacks that Dust could never have seen on his own. At the end, when the human is gone, Papyrus is left to haunt his brother, watching the world around him slowly decay as he too deteriorates. What could he have find differently? How could he have stopped this?
There is no answer that could satisfy that phantom. He is bound to what remains of his brother, but he has never been more alone.

How do you read a scroll you can’t open?
With lasers!
Tumblr media
In 79 AD, Mount Vesuvius erupts and buries the library of the Villa of the Papyri in hot mud and ash
The scrolls are carbonized by the heat of the volcanic debris. But they are also preserved. For centuries, as virtually every ancient text exposed to the air decays and disappears, the library of the Villa of the Papyri waits underground, intact
Then, in 1750, our story continues:
While digging a well, an Italian farm worker encounters a marble pavement. Excavations unearth beautiful statues and frescoes – and hundreds of scrolls. Carbonized and ashen, they are extremely fragile. But the temptation to open them is great; if read, they would more than double the corpus of literature we have from antiquity.
Early attempts to open the scrolls unfortunately destroy many of them. A few are painstakingly unrolled by an Italian monk over several decades, and they are found to contain philosophical texts written in Greek. More than six hundred remain unopened and unreadable.
Tumblr media
Using X-ray tomography and computer vision, a team led by Dr. Brent Seales at the University of Kentucky reads the En-Gedi scroll without opening it. Discovered in the Dead Sea region of Israel, the scroll is found to contain text from the book of Leviticus.
This achievement shows that a carbonized scroll can be digitally unrolled and read without physically opening it.
But the Herculaneum Papyri prove more challenging: unlike the denser inks used in the En-Gedi scroll, the Herculaneum ink is carbon-based, affording no X-ray contrast against the underlying carbon-based papyrus.
To get X-rays at the highest possible resolution, the team uses a particle accelerator to scan two full scrolls and several fragments. At 4-8µm resolution, with 16 bits of density data per voxel, they believe machine learning models can pick up subtle surface patterns in the papyrus that indicate the presence of carbon-based ink
In early 2023 Dr. Seales’s lab achieves a breakthrough: their machine learning model successfully recognizes ink from the X-ray scans, demonstrating that it is possible to apply virtual unwrapping to the Herculaneum scrolls using the scans obtained in 2019, and even uncovering some characters in hidden layers of papyrus
On October 12th: the first words have been officially discovered in the unopened Herculaneum scroll! The computer scientists won 40,000 dollars for their work and have given hope that the 700,000 grand prize is within reach: to read an entire unwrapped scroll!

Information on my Pyrotale AU
General premise of the AU:
Although the AU begins with the same premise of monsters being pushed underground, Chara falling and being adopted by Asgore and Toriel, Chara and Asriel dying, Toriel leaving Asgore and 6 humans falling into the underground only to be killed. The difference arises around the time Alphys creates Flowey by injecting a flower with determination. Soon after this event, a mysterious growth begins to take over the underground. Originating in the ruins, it quickly spreads through most of the underground. It behaves similar to mold as it spreads and releases spore like substances.
As it spreads it kills the land or plants it spreads to. It's even capable of spreading to monsters who slowly decay after being infected. A state of emergency is called and efforts go into finding ways to fight this unknown growth that the monsters call "rot". Almost all magic is found to be useless against it except for one type: Fire. As the monsters discover that fire is the key to fighting this spreading rot, they begin putting more and more effort into creating fire casting weapons such as flamethrowers.
What each location looks like in this AU:
The Ruins: The ruins are the starting point of the rot, thus it is one of the most overrun places in the underground besides Waterfall. The rot is currently blocking the exit to the ruins as it has taken over Toriel's home and driven her out. Due to the high concentration of rot and it's spores, most monsters in the ruins have to wear some kind of mouth protection to keep themselves safe from the spores. Toriel has taken it upon herself to carve out a little safe space for the monsters to set up camp and regularly patrols the ruins and creates a safe path for the monsters to go through using her fire magic.
Snowdin: Snowdin was first in the path of the rot after escaping the ruins. After a long struggle with the rot, it was eventually cleared of all rot and barricaded using giant walls of controlled fire. Due to all the fire, a lot of the snow has melted around snowdin and it is mainly covered in ash. Because of the ash most residents need to wear something over their mouth as ash is bad to inhale. The dog squad is tasked with keeping the fire barricades running. And Papyrus, Sans, and Undyne all patrol the area.
Waterfall: Soon after the rot begins to spread, waterfall begins getting overrun by the rot. Perhaps it's due to the fact that the wet waterfall is not the ideal place to be using fire effectively. Everyone in waterfall is ran out by the rot, many end up dying to it. They either flee to hotland or snowdin. It is currently almost impossible to get through due to how overan it is.
Hotland: Due to the fact that hotland is already essentially full of fire, the rot was primarily unable to get through hotland keeping places like new home safe. Hotland is where a lot of the former waterfall residents live and it is the focal point of the effort to fight against the rot.
New home: New home is mainly safe from rot though there are outbreaks here and there. Newhome is where almost all residents of the underground ended up fleeing to and is considered a safe haven.
What each character is up to in this AU:
Frisk: Frisk is a fallen human who falls down a mountain into a hellscape of the underground. They begin with no protection against the rot but are given some protection from Toriel who begrudgingly helps them get past the rot to escape the ruins. At snowdin they are given a sort of hazmat suit as protection from both the spores and the ash since "humans are fragile" in comparison to monsters. A lot of monsters are desperate to kill Frisk in a bid to escape the underground and get away from the rot.
Flowey: Flowey is "patient 0" of the whole rot incident. He isn't really known among the monsters, but when he was birthed by alphys with determination that seems to be the catalyst of the rot's appearance. He is already half rotted but unlike most monsters he hasn't died due to his infection. When Frisk falls down he is primarily eager to help them since he hates the rot as well. However, a lot of his actions are clouded by his infection as the rot slowly poisoning him and his brain only wants to spread, to grow.
Toriel: Toriel is the caretaker of the ruins, as such she takes it upon herself to care for and protect all the monsters stuck in the ruins with the rot. Due to her fire magic abilities, she is able to drive back the rot and has carved out a safe little space for the ruin monsters after being driven out of her house by the rot. When Frisk comes she is tempted to keep frisk from leaving the ruins as she is worried about what asgore will do, but recognizes that being stuck in the ruins with the rot is no way to live. She thus helps frisk escape the ruins with the hope that frisk will find a way to leave the underground.
Papyrus: Papyrus took charge during the rot's infestation of Snowdin. Due to how instrumental he was most of the residents have a lot more respect for him than they did in the original undertale. He still falls under the command of Undyne when she eventually makes it to snowdin as well. He uses a flamethrower as his weapon of choice. (2/2)
Sans: Sans still acts rather lazy and funny, but is somewhat more serious in this AU due to how pressing the situation is. He insists on following Papyrus during all his excursions due to how dangerous they are and his desire to help protect his brother. He used matches and gasoline as his weapon of choice.
Undyne: When the rot began invading Waterfall, Undyne was quick to try and fight it to little success. When it was found that fire was effective to use against it she was quick to try that out. She was key to helping a lot of waterfall residents escape in time. Unfortunately due to a mishap with fire, she has been severely burned along her face and most of her body. As such she has learned to wear an outfit that covers as much skin as possible. She escaped to snowdin and is currently trying to organize efforts there to venture back into waterfall to get to new home and acquire supplies for snowdin when they were cut off. A flamethrower is her weapon of choice.
Alphys: Alphys is under a large amount of stress in this AU as she has been tasked with finding out ways to get rid of the rot, cure victims of the rot, and finding ways to break the barrier as Asgore has grown obsessed with this idea. She hardly eats or sleeps due to the stress. She monitors the rot in waterfall and tries to keep it from spreading into hotland or new home in any way. She has a lot of scars and a broken foot due to accidents that occurred while she was trying to harness the core as a way to fight the rot. She has little jars of fire as her weapon of choice.
Asgore: Asgore is a lot more serious and short in this AU as he is under the stress of fighting the rot and saving his people. He has grown obsessed with the idea of finding a way to break the barrier as he feels he needs to free his people before the rot slowly kills them all from the inside. As such he is more hell bent on killing the next human to fall into the underground. He is also rather short with Alphys. A flaming trident is his weapon of choice.

Welcome!
Hello! We are an adaptive system of around 40 headmates! All of us share this blog together. You may know us from our old (obsolete) blogs, @dhundertale and @droughtale. This is our rebranded blog, with our rebooted series.
This page features two Undertale AUs, both of which take place in the same universe, just with slightly different circumstances. The descriptions of these AUs are lower down, if you wish to read a brief summary.
The first two pages of Defining Happiness are here.
Both AUs contain the same ships, so be warned and turn away if you do not like them. You will be blocked if you reblog or comment just to complain about the romances/QPRs.
Any of the ships listed that have more than two people are polyamory/ethical non-monogamy, not "love triangles".
The ships are the following:
Chariskriel (Chara x Asriel x Frisk)
Flowiskra (Chara x Asriel x Frisk)
Friskid (Frisk x MK)
Tuffet (Toriel x Muffet)
Sansgoriel (Sans x Asgore x Toriel)
Sansby (Sans x Grillby)
Papyton (Papyrus x Mettaton)
Mad Alphyne (Mad Mew Mew x Alphys x Undyne)
Chara and Frisk both use they/them in this AU. Napstablook uses they/them. MK uses both they/them and he/him. Mad Mew Mew (Maddie) uses she/her. Please respect that.
Please not deadname Mettaton or Maddie.
Also, in these two AUs, Flowey and Asriel are headmates, not the same person. They have shared memories (and a shared body/soul), but they are separate boys with their own thoughts and feelings.
--------------------------------------------
Defining Happiness/DH (Summary)
A fancomic series about our protagonists Frisk & Chara and their loved ones attempting to find freedom on the surface, and facing hardships of forming a lasting family. The story is told by Frisk of the future, passing the tale onto their niblings (nieces, nephews, niephews) and little siblings.
Follow Frisk as they study and fight to become the young ambassador for Monsterkind, join forces with the previously-hidden MHHR Association (Monster, Hybrid, Human Rights Association), battle the traumas formed by their past, face teenage development and romance, and struggle to maintain a relationship with their older sister, Celest.
--------------------------------------------
Drought & Devastation/Droughtale/DD (Summary)
A fanfiction series about our protagonists Celest & Michael, attempting to journey through a decaying underground, with the soul of Celest's sister (Frisk). While Celest is the older sister in Defining Happiness, in Droughtale Celest is aged down, becoming Frisk's younger sister instead.
(TW for physical abuse & cannibalism)
When Frisk (age 13) fell into the mountain, they rushed to get through the underground, to return home to their little sister Celest (age 9) and care for her, as the two of them lived with abusive parents. Frisk managed to complete a false pacifist run (leaving Asgore dead and Toriel the queen), intending to gather Celest from their home and return underground, knowing that Toriel would care for the two of them. However, upon arriving home, they failed to sneak inside and take Celest without notice. Their father caught them and began to beat them.
They attempted to reset, but found that their magic was no longer of use. (This is because human magic can only work in the presence of monster magic.) Instead, they were left with brain damage from the beating, and spent the rest of their childhood locked in the house with Celest, tending to her the best they could in their impaired state.
Upon adulthood, the two escaped together. Celest married her husband, Markson, and the two had a child Junebug (aka Frisk Junior.) Frisk passed away not long after, telling Celest to take their soul underground to free monsterkind (while being unaware that the other six souls were fully used up and lost during the fight with Omega Flowey.)
Celest traversed underground, only to find that it was no longer the wonderland Frisk had described to her, but instead a place of ruins, riddled with a magical drought that caused all monsters to have erratic, hallucinatory, and/or violent symptoms, and be thirsty for any magic - or liquid - that they could get their hands on...including the lifeforce of each other.
Through her journey to get back home to her husband and child, she seeks to discover the history of how such a magical place has come to such devastation.

happy kist, as requested by the people (rip me)
killer and dust have been trekking through the dark endless space for a while. killer has been chattering nonstop, filling the empty void with his voice, which dust appreciates. were he to be left floundering in the silence, he'd go crazy just like the many unfortunate souls that have stumbled into this non-place.
this "multiverse station" doesn't seem to have an attendant, only an eerie display of monster dust and decayed human bodies scattered sparsely throughout. yet, killer doesn't seem to be deterred a single bit. he's confidently announced that they would get out of here and back on track to their scheduled date in a mobfell universe.

Split brain theory
——————————————————————
An au based off of Matpats gastor Theory
——————————————————————
After the great DR. GASTER fell into the void he was shattered across time and space and his soul was split in two
Sans holds the doctors intellect and defensive magic, he’s still the judge (not of his own accord), but has never been the royal scientist (left brain) He’s very relaxed and easy-going, but he does possess the doctors apathy, Snark, and paranoia
Papyrus has his battle prowess and offensive magic, the most promising member of the royal guards who has been soaring through the ranks (right brain) he’s carrying boisterous, but he has the doctors, pride, temper and need to prove himself
Sans has a bone to pick with authority in general. This is only been exceeded after he was forced to become the judge by asgore
Papyrus quickly became one of the higher-ups and the royal guard, this has given him a bit of a big head, but he takes his job very seriously and does everything in stride. He can be very bossy he means well
with these treats I think you can decipher what kind of man the doctor was. Yes both sans and papyrus have his treats. They also developed and grew in different ways, shaping their full personalities.
The doctor is nothing more than a ghost, haunting the narrative with his disciples. Despite being nothing more than a corrupted decayed corpse, his legacy still haunts everyone who’s ever had the misfortune of being associated with him
——————————————————————
- Both are aware of the resets, but don’t remember them
- Both are equal to undyne in power, they could even go head to head with her if they work together
- They have kind of a twin telepathy thing , and since they share a soul, they can tell when the other is in danger/in a fight
- Similar to how sans can walk through walls and teleport, papyrus has usual reality bending powers as well (aka just disobeying gravity)
- monochrome color scheme in reference to the followers
- Both sound exactly like gaster when speaking in Wingdings
