For people still in denial whether Israel has committed war crimes, here is a comprehensive list of war crimes Israel has committed both before and after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the list being taken from the Wikipedia article of war crimes with some notable missing examples being the usage of chemical weapons, famine, disease and apartheid. The 7th of October attack did not occur in a vacuum, but is the product of decades of Israel not being held accountable for its war crimes.

Brazilian authorities arrested several members of an elite Brazilian army unit on Tuesday, accusing them of planning to assassinate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in 2022, shortly before he was to become the country’s president, as part of a plot to keep the far-right incumbent president, Jair Bolsonaro, in power. Four of those arrested were members of the military, including a former top aide to Mr. Bolsonaro, according to a police official who could not be identified discussing details of the case. A fifth person arrested in the case is a federal police agent, the official said. Those detained used a “high level of technical military knowledge” to organize a plot to assassinate Mr. Lula, a leftist, and his pick for vice president, Geraldo Alckmin, on Dec. 15, 2022, the authorities said in a statement. The group had also planned to kill a Supreme Court justice, the authorities said, but they did not divulge the name of the justice.

20 APR 2021 - NJD @ PIT: to me, really truly the start of a new era, couple games removed from moving zajac and palmieri at the deadline, in the middle of a 15-game (kinda, they had one win so like, is it really a win) losing streak. down 6-0 at the end of the second period they score 6 (!!!) goals in the third period and fall juuuust short of a comeback leading to this moment

␥ list of things i’ve successfully manifested !

i discovered manifestation and the law around early 2022 and here's what i have manifested since then! this might not be much but this is to remind me that i am capable of anything and everything!

𖥻 1. clearer skin

i used to have a terrible breakout on the right side of my face + oily skin. now my skin is much better and less oily! i do not have acne anymore.

𖥻 2. weight loss ( 14 kgs )

i went from 69 kgs to 55 kgs in around two months with minimal exercise ( walking ) & a simple diet.

𖥻 3. height increase ( 11cm )

i used to be 150cm but not anymore lol. i got better proportions too!

𖥻 4. text messages & instant replies from people.

i also manifested message from a friend i was no longer in contact with.

𖥻 5. passing exams i thought i was going to fail

accountancy was my weakest subject but i manifested passing several tests and exams. i also manifested getting better in it!

𖥻 6. getting above average % board exams

board examinations are a big deal in my country and i, unfortunately, ended in a stream i was not interested in. i manifested getting ~80% in them despite getting way lesser in school examinations.

𖥻 7. food

one single thought turned into an assumption and i am having whatever i want for dinner!

𖥻 8. storage of my phone increasing

i only have 32gb of storage in my phone lol. so sometimes i have to clear app caches to make space, but not anymore.

𖥻 9. love confession

i simply wanted a love confession and i got it. as easy as it gets.

𖥻 10. an increament in my mom’s salary & money for myself

my mom really wanted an increament and i manifested it! she got increament of 5.5k! also manifested a bonus for her. + got gift money from my parents and relatives!

𖥻 11. letting go of & detaching from several people

i used to be attached some people that hurt me but not anymore. i have let go of them and it feels so much better.

𖥻 12. books & manga ( jjk )

my mom is not the type to let me spend money on buying books ( for leisure reading ), much less a comic book. but i manifested her allowing me to buy 4 books + 1 manga volume! she even paid for them.

𖥻 13. delaying the start of my college, teachers & professors taking leaves, not getting scolded for submitting assignments late

my college was supposed to start from early june but i manifested a delay and it started from mid-july. i have manifested both school teachers and college professors taking leaves on my desired days.

𖥻 14. nice aura + compliments

i have a magnetic aura, people feel comfort around me and i get so many compliments about literally everything i do!

𖥻 15. quick deliveries of my orders

𖥻 16. winning an elocution competition

i was really worried because i only found about it a day before and some other contestants had been trained by their professors. i was full of nerves but still won the first rank! the judges said my content was unique and everything i did was perfect.

𖥻 17. kitten type beauty

manifested myself big upturned eyes with pretty lashes & a v-shaped face with smooth skin!

𖥻 18. cats loving me

call me a cat whisperer the way cats love me! i can easily befriend any cat!!! ˃ᴗ˂

𖥻 19. desired skincare products for cheap

i really wanted vitamin c serum and face cleanser and sometime later i saw an ad with an offer to get both for 1 rupee! crazy right?

𖥻 20. entering the void on several occasions.

i have entered the void several times albeit unaware. recently i've started becoming aware before snapping out of it!

Wherein Billy Butcher finds out that Homelander has achieved his goal and doesn't have any real intentions to leave Vought, and they have a falling out.

Wherein Homelander pays a visit to Dr. Sonnenberg again and contemplates telling Vought about his condition.

Wherein Homelander's announcement of his condition falls with a very strange thud in the Vought board room. He realizes they may not have his best interests at heart, and he comes crawling back to Billy Butcher if not for help then at least moral support.

Dec 15 & 24, 2022

Wherein Billy Butcher takes advantage of the rift and arranges for Homelander to cut ties with Vought completely. Homelander is reluctant but has few options. He’s placed under house arrest in Billy Butcher's dingy apartment until the FBI can get a deposition from him about Vought and he adjusts to his new life.

January 24, 2023

Wherein Homelander goes public with his pregnancy announcement, MM is really concerned about Butcher's plan, and Homelander and Billy Butcher continue to look for ways to live together and not strangle each other.

March 2, 2023

Wherein Billy Butcher and Homelander have a blowout fight over Homelander's reluctance to give straightforward testimony about all the abuses he underwent while being raised by Vought and they go to bed not entirely angry but not entirely reconciled either.

March 3, 2023

Wherein Billy Butcher faces the fact that he's grown attached to Homelander and resolves to be more patient and understanding. He and Homelander have a raw heart-to-heart which brings up strong emotions in both, and each of them has a lot of misgivings about how the relationship is really shaping up. Homelander has his first real pregnancy scare and has to break house arrest to tend to it.

March 29, 2023

Wherein Homelander and Billy Butcher are preparing to move into a nicer apartment, Homelander's house arrest ends, Homelander requests a baby shower, and he and Billy Butcher have one last go with his supersuit on before they are required to return it to Vought.

April 14, 2023

Wherein Homelander makes a happy discovery that his baby can see through him, and Billy Butcher brings tidings of a disturbing discovery about Ryan's fate. Something in Homelander snaps and he is newly motivated to fight back against Vought. Billy Butcher records notes for an entirely new deposition with a very different tone.

May 27, 2023

Wherein Billy Butcher's friends and friends-of-friends come over for a baby shower.

July 3-5 2023

Wherein Homelander is overdue and can't wait to give birth, but once the ordeal starts it never seems to end. Homelander goes into a bit of a fugue state before it’s over, but all's well that ends well.

Homelander and Billy Butcher are adjusting to life with a superpowered newborn, and despite difficulties, Homelander makes a concerted effort to return into the public eye and take back control of the narrative from Vought-planted stories about him.

This Week in The TCW

Jan 19th - Jan 25th

I knew to expect one item of shared clothing this week from seeing it in a 'next ep' preview but it ended up being a busy week for the Thai Communal Wardrobe. And it was a cracking start on Sunday.

Jan 19th - Perfect 10 Liners

It was definitely a surprise to see Arm in this blue and white sweater in ep 13 of Perfect 10 Liners, which has also been worn in Only Friends and The Trainee.

Jan 20th - Ossan's Love Thailand

I was also happy to see that Mo is wearing the Mustard brand sneakers in Ossan's Love Thailand as well as Heng. Mo's are the exact same as Gun wears in My School President, and Atom wears in My School Mix-up. (For anyone interested, these are Mo's and these are Heng's. Also, can we have a minute of silence to mourn my chance to own a pair of these sneakers since all the shoes are now sold out in their webshop 😭 Let's hope they're making space for new styles and not closing down 😥).

Jan 24th - ThamePo

We have two three items from ThamePo this week, and the first is one that I knew was coming (along with several others) thanks to @sammie-lightwood-bane (here), @pigglepiephi (here), and @lyknest (I just realised I didn't reply to your ask, sorry! And thank you!). This red hoodie was also used in Only Boo! (Colour differences most likely due to the filters used during filming or post-production).

The second I was surprised to see last week in the preview for this week's ep but happy nonetheless since City of Stars, where it was also worn, had a lot of great clothes.

Edit: And the third is one that I didn't catch until a few weeks after making this post. The yellow sleeveless vest that Nano is wearing above was also worn in Only Boo (the lighting/colouring of Only Boo is washing the colour out but it is yellow).

Historical Discoveries

I'm adding this section of the post for the discoveries I make during the week of items of shared clothing that were worn prior to the week.

The first is with thanks to this post by @absolutebl, where I recognised the "yesterday NOW tomorrow" t-shirt since I had saved a screenshot of it from The Sign almost exactly a year ago (Jan 27 2024). It was first worn in 2gether on May 15 2020.

And I recognised this stripy t-shirt from @rangz-rang's gifset since I had saved a screenshot of it from Wandee Goodday. Worn in My School President in Dec 2022 and then Wandee Goodday in June 2024.

The claim: Bob Cratchit was destitute but still earned more than the U.S. minimum wage

The work of Victorian-era novelist Charles Dickens went viral over the holidays, when a tweet used his 1843 novella "A Christmas Carol" to make a point about the minimum wage.

Posted Dec. 19 and retweeted by over 14,000 users, it centered on Bob Cratchit. The character works as a clerk and accountant for wealthy Ebenezer Scrooge yet struggles to provide enough food and clothing for his wife and six children.

According to the post – which was screenshotted and shared by many Facebook users – Cratchit symbolizes "destitution" in the novella but would have made an inflation-adjusted wage of around $13.50 per hour – almost twice the federal minimum wage.

"Time for your annual reminder that, according to A Christmas Carol, Bob Cratchit makes 15 shillings a week. Adjusted for inflation, that's $530.27/wk, $27,574/yr, or $13.50/hr," the tweet reads.

"Most Americans on minimum wage earn less than a Dickensian allegory for destitution."

If he were alive today, would Cratchit actually be earning more than the minimum wage?

The wage figure is roughly accurate. But as independent fact-checking organizations have reported, the claim is more complicated than the post makes it seem.

Chris Thompson, who posted the original tweet, told USA TODAY in a LinkedIn message that the claim came from an article published by the site EverythingWhat, which he said he found after "a very cursory Google search."

The tweet drew thousands of comments and shares on Facebook, Instagram and other platforms. More than 30,000 users shared a screenshot of the tweet posted by liberal Facebook page The Other 98% – though it later updated its post to state that "this post has been fact checked and found to be False."

Cratchit's salary roughly equivalent to $14.20 per hour

Inflation is typically measured using the Consumer Price Index, which looks at annual increases in the average price of a standard bundle of consumer goods and services.

But this kind of measurement can't accurately estimate Cratchit's salary, said Samuel H. Williamson, professor emeritus of economics at Miami University of Ohio.

"The term ‘inflation-adjusted salary’ is very misleading because it implies that ... these 'adjusted' salaries can buy a similar set of goods and services," Williamson said. "But over time the bundle becomes so different that the comparison is ludicrous. Cell phones with quill pens, etc.”

While no measure is perfect, What is the relative value of Bob Cratchit’s 15 shillings a week in 1843? of the modern-day equivalent of a 15-shilling wage in 1843, Williamson said. This indicator adjusts a wage based on the inflation of the average worker’s pay each year.

Using this method, Cratchit’s 15 shillings per week would translate to a relative labor earnings value of £611.30 per week, according to MeasuringWorth, an inflation calculation resource that Williamson co-founded. At the current conversion rate, that's about $850 per week and $43,000 annually.

Keep in mind that, in Victorian England in the 1840s, laborers were expected to work 10 hours per day, six days per week. Assuming Scrooge didn’t make Cratchit work longer hours, that means Cratchit was making the equivalent of $14.20 per hour, adjusting for wage inflation.

That would make his pay nearly double the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, though 30 U.S. states have set higher pay floors.

However, that wage would put the Cratchits below the federal poverty line of $44,660 for a family of eight.

Cratchit wasn’t 'destitute' for his time

By calling Cratchit "a Dickensian allegory for destitution," the tweet implies he was paid a relatively low wage for a person in the Victorian era. But that isn't the full story.

Joel J. Brattin, a professor of English at Worcester Polytechnic Institute who has researched Dickens’ work, told USA TODAY that although Cratchit was paid a relatively low wage for his skillset and time period, he wasn’t the poorest person in Victorian London. For example, manual laborers were paid around 8 shillings per week, he said, and there wasn't a minimum wage.

“It is important to note that Bob Cratchit was not destitute,” Brattin said in an email. “Rather, he was paid little, and had a large family – six children and a wife – to feed and clothe.”

Peter Gurney, a history professor at the University of Essex who has studied consumption and consumer goods in the Victorian era, said fixating on Cratchit's wage takes away from the message of "A Christmas Carol."

“The important thing is that the Cratchit family are almost starving all year round, and Dickens shows how Christmas makes things worse, exposing extremes of poverty and wealth and the erosion of Christian charity by laissez-faire individualism," Gurney said in an email.

Our rating: Partly false

Based on our research, we rate PARTLY FALSE the claim that Cratchit was destitute but still earned more than the U.S. minimum wage. Based on wage inflation, his salary of 15 shillings per week translates to around $43,000 per year, or $14.20 per hour with the standard 60-hour workweek of his time. So it's true that he would have made more than the federal minimum wage.

However, he was not "destitute" for his time, experts told USA TODAY. Cratchit's pay as an educated clerk, while meager for a family of eight, was higher than that of many other workers. There was no minimum wage in Victorian London. In addition, the standard and cost of living today are so different that comparing wages directly is misleading.
