Would like to also add an opinion that goes with this one, and is also a “controversial” opinion:

The Douglas family aren’t “abusive” as much as stereotypical sitcom family dysfunctional.

Watching the show again recently, Douglas and Debbie are really fucking weird at both their kids?!  Like who proudly says their kid’s gunna be a high school drop-out and live with them into his forties? Yo what the fuck?

Being asked to do chores isn’t abuse?  And did we forget Duncan basically got wrestled by a blue “home-invader” in his bathroom and fled out of his house on Christmas?  Or that Douglas Douglas gives Debbie a look when she ate all the pizza rolls?  This isn’t a serious bit?  It’s a kids show? 

Yall...lighten the fuck up?

Duncan Douglas isn't that bad a person,

You guys are just pulling straws for your woobie victim!Dexter tropes,

Duncan isn't that bad an older brother,

Dexter and Duncan fight, that's normal for siblings to just be dicks to eachother sometimes. It's not that deep.
