Brisk Harpy: a courier organization dedicated to helping colonies out West primarily in areas where the UCA/Chiral Network can't reach. Gene Dawkins took up work at Brisk Harpy following her departure from Middle Knot City.
DUAT: A team of 6 individuals recruited by an offbranch of the UCA to allegedly assist with research pertaining to BTs and Beaches. Rumor has it the 6 are embued with special abilities and powers that give them domain over entities...Of course, that's hearsay. There may also be a 7th member but nothing substantial evidence wise as come forward.

The Egyptian God’s Prey | Chapter 10
Title: The Egyptian god’s prey
Parings: Jimin x OT6BTS
Warnings: Swearing. Mention of death. Mention of Nazi’s. Inaccurate Egyptian’s history… I improvised. Mention of kidnap, kind of (he ends up stranded). Severe sunburn. Kind of incest ( The Egyptians gods sometimes married their siblings) They discuss the incest here! This chapter talks about death as if it isn’t something serious. Also there is a slight disregard to religion and the deities in as a whole.
Summary: A small view into Jimin’s past as well as into what the boys are really planning
Chapter 9
The Duat was dark and cold. It was a clear sign that no one was welcome. The path was narrow and long. Usually, mortals had to walk for days before they could be judged by the great god of the underworld. Be it Osiris or Horus.
The Duat came with its many creatures, all simple servants of the ruler himself, but it also came with its many hidden chambers. The perfect place to meet another deity in secret. That is where Mut was heading. Even in these ancient, forbidden lands, she knew that this would be the only place to complete her plan. Her only way to ensure her power position. The crowded path made it easy for her to disappear. The invasion had caused quite the distraction in both the world of the living and dead. The small boy in her arms whimpered at the coldness of the air. She could only look down with disinterest.
“Shh! It’s okay baby. Mommy is here, and that’s all you will ever need” Mut muttered to the small boy sleeping in her arms. Jimin was barely seven years old, but his presence was already that of a great deity. A great deity that could rival his own mothers. Mut wasn’t weak, she was confident and knew her worth, but she wasn’t naive. She could sense the threat even if it was still young. She was scared of what Jimin would become. Scared of not being able to control him as she could do with his father.
His dead father. The fool couldn't even withstand a little invasion from the Romans. The invasion that was caused by her. To be honest, she never meant for Amun to die. She just wanted to scare the humans into submission. Amun was supposed to be the hero, but no! The fucking Romans didn’t keep their word. Instead of just scaring the humans and targeting the other temples, they did a full sweep. There was almost nothing left. Mut would be damned if she’ll allow her own son to take that path. No, she’s going to guide him. She’ll be all he’ll ever need.
“Are you sure about this? Once you wipe his memories, his god will be locked away. He’ll be vulnerable like any other mortal” Moneta said with concern. They might be from different religions, but they were still gods. He was just a child still and she would never do such a thing to another deity. It would be more merciful to kill him than do this, but she had no choice. Mut was powerful and angry. Moneta knew to not mess with her. She was an evil god that had no boundary to her rath.
“Yes, I am sure. His good-for-nothing father couldn’t get me what I wanted. I will be a fool to allow him to disappoint me too. This way I can own him completely. I can control him however I deem fit. He’ll be my perfect little immortal human” Mut said with a wicked grin as she stared down at her still sleeping, son.
Moneta felt sick at the sight. In all her doings, she has never seen a more sinister mother than this. Mut was crazy to put it simply. She was obsessed with the idea of power, so much so she is willing to hurt her son for it. She most definitely will become a problem in the future. The boy will surely suffer once the spell is done. Moneta will try as much as she can to lessen the pain. Maybe that is why Moneta did what she did. As much as causing the sweet angel pain, pained her, she knew this would be all worth it once her ‘special’ spell took full effect. Jimin might lose his memories of who he really is, but his mother will have to lose her life. She’ll be fuelling his growth with her own power. It will slowly drain the life out of her until Jimin matures. It will be far too late once Mut realizes what is truly happening. Under ideal circumstances, she’ll be on her death bed, mere hours away from her final breath. If not, she has a few other tricks up her sleeve.
Moneta never forgot the young god she was forced to hurt back then. She would constantly check in on the progress of her spell. He was the embodiment of angelic. His face was soft and pure. His mannerism was kind, yet confident. His soul was pure even if he was slightly arrogant. She blames his mother for that. Speaking off… Jimin was the complete opposite of her. Where she was evil and obsessed with power, Jimin was uncontaminated and down to earth. Again, Moneta blames Mut for his arrogance and stubbornness. One thing Mut managed to do right was Jimin’s beauty.
Moneta knew about the surviving Egyptian gods. She could smell them a mile away. They also seemed to know about Jimin, even if his god was locked up. She had no idea what they were planning, but she knew it was nothing as bad as his own mother's intentions. She just prayed to the greater of all that the boy will be released from this hell soon. She just wanted him to be free.
***
“Is he asleep?” Yoongi asked when Seokjin returned
“Yes, he sleeps quite easily. I think he is starting to feel safe. Which is good” Seokjin said as he took a seat around the table. All of them were there. They had important matters to discuss.
“Good yes, but are we really going to try and kill him still? I mean as far as I can tell, he was just as much of a victim as we were. Namjoon has still not found that part of history. What if he never knew and his god is truly locked away. Killing him will be disastrous” Hoseok said as he looked at the rest of the boys.
“I will keep looking. But I agree that we should not assume anything yet. I have a feeling that he has been through a greater hell than we think. It might even be worse than any of our experiences” Namjoon said as he took a sip of his wine.
“What makes you say that? What had he done to convince you of his innocence? For all we know he is just putting up an act. We should have dealt with him sooner” Taehyung said. The rest all had wide eyes at this. Taehyung wasn’t the type to make assumptions or judge anyone simply by their past.
“His eyes. The wonder in them. The disbelief he still has. I firmly believe he thinks this is all a dream still. The fact that he nearly died in the desert. Have you forgotten our encounter with Moneta? Have you forgotten how her eyes pleaded for us to understand Jimin before we judge? Wake up Taehyung and spend some time with him. Alone” Jungkook snapped back. Somehow he felt wronged even if the words weren’t even directed at him or any of his loved ones.
“Wait, Moneta… Didn’t she mention something about a specific time or place when we met her? Like she wanted us to go look for something there?” Yoongi interjected, successfully deflating the situation by the change of topic.
“The Duat. The realm of the dead. She mentioned meeting someone there. Seokjin even got mad at her for it. Those are forbidden lands to other deities” Hoseok said with a frown. It took a few seconds for realization to settle over the group. It was as if a switch was flipped. They have been so hyper focussed on their mission to avenge their fallen ancestors that they completely overlooked such important conversation. To be honest, they never could see eye to eye with other religions.
“I’ll look for the scroll at once. I will not stop until I find it. Oh, and seriously Taehyung. Spend some time with Jimin. See for yourself if you see malicious intent or just plain boyish curiosity. Be gentle with him. Remember, none of us has any idea what that boy has been through and until we do, let’s treat him like we would want to be treated. Like family” Namjoon said as he got up to leave the room. He felt stupid for overlooking his previous little kingdom. If he thinks about it, really thinks about that dreadful day, he can recall the unsettling feeling he got. The feeling that something was in the realm that did not belong. Something or someone.
“Namjoon is right. Think about it, if you had Mut as a mother wouldn’t you want to feel as much love as possible from anyone willing to give it?” Jungkook said as he softened his gaze.
Taehyung could only grumble as shame overtook his features. He, himself, didn't know where that, whatever it was, came from. He’s just so stuck on the past that he can’t see past his grief. Maybe they are right. Maybe he needs to see for himself who Jimin really is. For whatever reason, Taehyung hoped he was wrong. He really did.

Duat Mai stands atop a dead whale at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, Monday, May 6, 2019. The Marine Mammal Center plans a necropsy to determine what killed the animal. Jeff Chiu, AP
Excerpt from this article from the Desert Sun:
At least 53 dead or dying gray whales have washed up on West Coast beaches this spring, a death rate that’s only been seen once before. The great mammals are starving to death and scientists have theories as to why but so far no full explanation.
The number of deaths is likely much higher because it’s estimated that only 10% of dead whales actually end up on shore, said John Calambokidis, a research biologist with the non-profit Cascadia Research in Olympia, Washington, who studies whale populations on the West Coast.
That could mean as many as 530 whales have died, a large number for a population that is estimated to be just over 20,000 and that only began to rebound in recent decades after being hunted almost to extinction in the late 1800s.
Gray whales make one of the Earth's most epic migrations each year. Filter feeders, they spend late spring through fall off the Alaska coast, eating and building up a thick layer of blubber. They forage for their food of choice, small sea animals called amphipods, scooping up sediment from the sea floor and filtering out the tiny shrimp-like creatures.
Then, in October, they begin their 6,000-mile annual journey south toward sheltered warm water lagoons in Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula and the Gulf of California, where the females give birth. During the three to four months they are traveling or in the waters off Mexico, they eat almost nothing, living off the fat they’ve stored up, said Calambokidis.
But they may not have found enough food last year to make it through their fasting months. In recent years, whales observed making the journey north were "emaciated and thin,” he said.
“Recent autopsies are suggesting that malnourishment is likely to blame,” said Elliott Hazen, a research ecologist with NOAA's Southwest Fisheries Science Center in La Jolla, California.
Younger whales seem to be especially at risk, with dead juvenile whales turning up on beaches emaciated, said Justin Viezbicke, the California stranding network coordinator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. He is based in Long Beach, California.
Scientists don’t yet know why so many of the gray whales are starving, though there are several theories. A leading one is that the whales’ food supply in Alaska last year was diminished by weather patterns, either because of normal variations or related to longer-term climate change.
“We have been facing record low levels of sea ice and earlier melting, which does not bode well for the organisms that the gray whales feed upon,” said Hazen.

The Egyptian God’s Prey | Chapter 11
Title: The Egyptian god’s prey
Parings: Jimin x OT6BTS
Warnings: Swearing. Mention of death. Mention of Nazi’s. Inaccurate Egyptian’s history… I improvised. Mention of kidnap, kind of (he ends up stranded). Severe sunburn. Kind of incest ( The Egyptians gods sometimes married their siblings)
This Chapter has thoughts on suicide and murder. Please be advised to not read if you are sensitive. Nothing bad happens, but the view is out of the respective characters point of view. It’s very... yeah
Summary: The boys discover a hidden secret in one of the scrolls. Taehyung is mad and Jimin dances on a balcony with just the moon as the witness.
Chapter 10
Taehyung wasn’t someone who got mad. He has had his fair share of disappointments, but he never got mad. Today, he was mad. Like mad mad. How could the others be so calm when their so-called enemy was literally asleep down the hall. `Get to know him,’ they said. ‘It might change how you see him’ yeah right! There was no way that that boy was any better than his mother. Jimin deserved all the hate he could get. There is just no way he could not be exactly like his mother. He was determined to prove them all wrong!
Taehyung just couldn’t understand how they seemed to have changed their minds so fast. Didn’t they all hate the boy like a few weeks ago? Were they not planning their revenge? They barely know Jimin. He has just seen two of them in their real form for fuck sakes! How the fuck did they all turn soft? Maybe that was one of Jimin’s methods to get them all to believe him. You know? Build trust, and then strike when they least expect it.
Taehyung isn’t a bad person. He believes there is good in everyone, but after he witnessed the invasion and the death of multiple gods, he grew more reserved. He doesn’t trust as openly as he used to. Everyone knows he took the fall very hard. He was a loving person that cared for everyone. He was capable of healing the sick and tending to the young. One can only handle so much death in one day. He isn’t even sure why he came rushing to the living area when Namjoon had called them, only them, to show them something. Taehyung was still mad at them. He felt betrayed by the only people he trusted. But he’ll suck it up for now, he was curious to see what Namjoon hand discovered. Sue him for not choosing a path and staying on it.
“So, I did some more digging into the strange unsettling feeling I got the day before the invasion. At first glance it seems that all operations went smoothly that day, but there had been a security breach in one of the secluded sections that linked to another deity path” Namjoon said as he searched through some scrolls for a map of the Duat.
“Namjoon, sweety. We love you and your very high regard for formal language, but for the love of Ra, please talk in a way we can understand you” Seokjin complained as he dusted off one of the corners of the map. They seriously had to spring clean that room. It seems like the Sahara sands have taken over.
“Oh, umm. There was an alert to someone other than an Egyptian being in one of the more secretive rooms. Around here. And if you look closely, there is a report…oops sorry, mention of Mut being seen in that area as well” Namjoon said a bit dumb founded. He had never realised he talked formally to them. Perhaps they needed a nap? They all do look rather tired.
“Okay? But who could have been in the Duat? That place is a sacred ground, even the other deities know that. We don’t go to their special places and they stay away from ours” Yoongi said with a slight frown. This entire situation was beginning to make less and less sense. There was an unspoken rule between deities. You keep to your own and I will keep to mine. It was clear, Mut didn't keep to herself and somehow Moneta was involved. It could even be the other way around for all they know. Perhaps they need Moneta’s side of the story, but that is nearly impossible. She refuses to cross the lines again after the last time she had seen them.
“That is just the thing, Mut lured Moneta there. I have the proof right here.” Namjoon said as he pulled a crystal from one of the scrolls. The same scroll that held that part of history they want to forget.
“Wait, what the hell is that? Has that been there the entire time?” Jungkook asked as he leaned closer to inspect the crystal. It was an odd little thing. It had no colour and seemed to belong to a string of crystals.
“No, we did not miss it. It wasn’t there, Moneta placed it there when she visited us last time. It has something to do with her spell on Jimin, but that is as far as my knowledge goes. I have no idea what the crystal will even do. I just know the final answer might be hidden by it. Perhaps we should give it to Jimin and see what happens?” Namjoon suggested as he looked at everyone. His eyes landed on Taehyung and the anger was evident in them. Before any of them could reach Taehyung snatched the crystal. For the next five seconds everyone held their breath as they waited for him to smash the crystal. To their surprise, Taehyung just walked off, leaving them all stunned.
“I might be shit at sensing tension in a room, but I have a feeling Taehyung is mad at us” Hoseok said in a quiet voice. The rest of them just looked at the spot Taehyung just stood, silently agreeing to Hoseok's words.
***
Jimin had no idea where he was. The first thing he noticed was how bright everything was. The sky was the only dark thing he could see. His surroundings looked like a mix between the desert sands and a stage. His clothes were white and his feet were bare. The moon was high in the sky and his muscles ached to move. To where he had no idea, but he just felt this compelling need to move. And move he did.
Before Jimin knew it, he was full on performing the best set he had ever prepared. The same set he has been working on for months. The same set that was supposed to be his dancing breakthrough into a major company. The same set that was supposed to make him famous. The same set he performed for the last time a day before his mother died.
His body had a mind of its own as he moved without fault to the beat of the silent music. He had no idea why, but he felt empowered by the moon being the only witness to his great performance. Sweat dripped down from his face as he kept on moving. Swiftly jumping and spinning with the utmost of grace. Jimin felt free in this very moment, even if it was just a dream.
With that in mind, Jimin woke up. He still had the pulsing need to move and set himself free. So, without even thinking, Jimin left his room and wandered around the halls. He had no clue where he was going, he just knew he was going to the exact place he needed to be. His feet led him to a balcony of some sorts. It was a big empty space that felt exactly like a stage. The moon was high and smiling down on Jimin as he began to move. Just like in his dream, Jimin started performing his most perfect performance. The same one that should have opened up his horizon with possibilities as endless as the Sahara sands.
The night air was a welcoming change to the scene and Jimin swiftly moved through the air as he jumped and twirled once again. It has been quite some time since he had last danced. He had so much pent up emotion that he needed to release and what better time than now? His mother left him without saying goodbye. She lied to him for his whole life. No one came to look for the dance progeny that suddenly went missing. The six men he was surrounded by had a hatred hidden in their eyes towards him. He nearly died in a desert and he might have gone mad at some point. He has been seeing ancient gods appear out of the people that hate him for some reason.
Jimin had no idea what was happening. He is alone, like always, but this time he is scared as well. He is alone and scared and only the moon is witnessing his tears. His vision is fuzzy from the lack of sleep. The added movement and exhaustion that the dancing is providing is not helping, but Jimin just can’t stop.
Perhaps this is how he should go? Perhaps this is a sign that he is no longer needed in this world, as his mother used to put it. Perhaps all the beatings he used to get from her for coming in second or not being the perfect little puppet all lead up to this moment. Life would be so much easier if he just wasn't in it any more. The six wonderful men that saved his life, the same six that also held hatred would finally be freed from him. Their revenge for the past mistakes of his so-called ‘loving’ mother would be fulfilled. They would be able to live in peace if he just… disappeared.
The night air was a welcoming change to the scene as Jimin swiftly moved through the air, jumping and twirling once again. He subconsciously moved closer to the railing. Would a fall from this height be enough? Perhaps another leap would add the needed height and speed that would… help. Jimin’s body retreated from the railing as he prepared for the final act in his performance. He was more than ready to fly and perhaps find peace for once. If the fall would not be enough, Jimin knew there would always be other ways… like wandering aimlessly in a hot desert with a will to die.
Jimin twirled and started his buildup towards the final jump. His feet were light as he swiftly jumped, using his one foot to step on the railing, while his other extended into a full on split. Jimin has never felt as free as he had in that moment. A small sad smile made its way onto his face as he did a final twist, just in time to see Taehyung rushing to the railing as he attempted to catch the falling angel. Time felt as if it wasn’t moving at all as Jimin smiled at Taehyung. He had no idea why Taehyung was crying, but he just knew it wasn’t for him. Perhaps the moon light had illuminated his face in a way it seemed he was crying. He could not possibly be sad.
Jimin closed his eyes as his inevitable descent began. His smile never left his face as his mind decided to finally let him rest. Freeing him of the inevitable pain he would soon feel once the angel and the earth would meet.
***
Taehyung was mad. He was holding a useless crystal as he marched away from the rest. He knew something felt off about the entire situation. The fact that someone dared to enter the Duat and conspire to the murder of hundreds of Egyptians was maddening in itself. He was more angry at the fact that Moneta was a coward. She had helped, sure, but why leave a useless crystal? Why couldn’t she just tell them what was going on? Why did they have to run around in circles like fools?
Taehyung was halfway down the hall when he realised he was on his way to Jimin’s room. For whatever reason he did not know. He just knew that this crystal would either help them discover the last missing pieces or it would make a nice little tool to use in ending a traitor's life.
Upon reaching the other door, Taehyung soon realised something was wrong. Jimin never slept with his door open. He had mentioned he had insomnia and sometimes would leave his light on. He would close the door to not disturb the others. Which made sense, but what didn’t make sense was why his door was open and his room was dark?
“Jimin?” Taehyung said as he carefully stepped into the room. He was more than ready to defend himself if the little fucker wanted to jump him. Once we flicked the light switch, he was met with an empty room. Jimin’s comforter was lying on the ground and by what Taehyung could tell, pointed at the door. This only means he left the room without much care.
“JIMIN?” Taehyung shouted as he quickly left the room, desperate to find the missing boy. He prayed with all his might to Nun, if they still existed, to not have let Jimin overhear their previous discussion. He had no idea why he even cared if Jimin got hurt, he just knew that he should find him, and fast. The desperate feeling Taehyung had made no sense. He hated Jimin, why did he feel as if he needed to know where he was? Perhaps it was the fact that Jimin was just an unwanted guest in their home that wasn’t where he was supposed to be. Maybe he was snooping around one of their special rooms. That would be beyond bad.
Taehyung's bad feeling proved to be accurate, just not in the way he thought it would be. Once he turned a corner at the back of the hall he came face to face with the open balcony door. Jimin was dancing. He looked like an angel that fell from the heavens. Again, if they existed, but what made Taehyung frown was Jimin’s face. He had tears streaming down his cheeks. Whatever he was thinking about, it could not be good. His movements, however, showed no sadness as he twirled and bent to an unknown melody. Taehyung could only stand in silent awe as he watched Jimin move.
Jimin’s face didn’t show any emotion as he danced. His eyes were closed, his movements precise and strong and overflowing with emotions. It was clear that the boy belonged on a stage. He had this way of capturing anyone's attention. Taehyung could admit in that very moment he admired the art Jimin was creating with his body. He felt kind of bad for feeling the hate he felt. Jimin looked anything, but like an enemy at that moment. Taehyung would even dare say he looked like a fragile lost puppy that just needed love. The haze Taehyung found himself in soon faded as he saw Jimin go closer to the railing. It could only mean disaster if Jimin didn’t open his eyes. What if he trips? What if he somehow topples over the railing and goes crashing down to the ground? Egyptians loved their high ceilings and even if they were on the second floor, it might as well have been the fifth.
A slight feeling of relief came over Taehyung as he watched Jimin move away from the railing, but that feeling didn’t last very long. Jimin started moving towards the railing with rapped speed. His feet carried him as his legs helped him leap. He took a final step on top of the railing and then… he was flying.
Taehyungs heart stopped as he saw Jimin split in the air, with no ground close to his feet. A second later he was scrambling forwards with concern as he felt tears slip out of his own eyes. Taehyung wanted to take back everything he had said about the boy. Yes, he was mad that the situation had to involve Jimin. Yes, he was still guarded around the boy, but even he could admit that Jimin felt like home. Yes, he wants his revenge, but he doesn’t want this. He never wanted this. Jimin can’t die. He doesn’t deserve to die! Taehyung wasn’t sure why yet, but at that moment he wanted to save Jimin and become whatever part Jimin needed him to be. Has Jimin heard them? So what. He could explain the situation to him and everything would be fine. Did he know how much they hated him? Or rather did he know of their hatred towards the situation? Again, Taehyung was willing to explain their side to Jimin. Yes, the hate was first at him but after they learned what they know the hate shifted away from Jimin himself. Did Taehyung really hate him? No, he didn’t. At first yes, but now he only hates the situation.
Taehyung reached the railing while he tried to grab onto Jimin. Anything would do, even if it was just a piece of clothing. Jimin spun around and made eye contact with Taehyung. He had a faint smile on his face as his tears kept streaming down down down. Taehyung could see how time stopped at that very moment. Jimin looked… relieved? As beautiful as it was to see, Taehyung also knew just what would happen if he didn’t save Jimin. As Jimin started his descent, Taehyung made his first ever impulsive decision. He jumped.
