Finally Completed my first, over 2 year long Dungeons and Dragons Campaign.

Fable of the Wrath King is finally finished. Incredibly bittersweet, but I am so grateful my friends and I were able to see this story to its end. After 124 sessions, it's over. Always tell the stories you want, and never stop telling them. Some art highlights I love from the talented players in my group.

That post abt larian making a bunch of good decisions in spite of WotCs general rules and lore abt dnd has a bunch of good points I agree with but the "there are no inherently evil races" they bring up rings a little bit hollow when 100% of the goblins you meet are gleefully evil and 100% of the goblins you can help in various ways end up backstabbing and betraying you no matter how much you've helped them.

If goblins were a playable race or, hell, if there was even just a small group of them you could find that were like "oh yeah the dudes that worship the Absolute are all horrible, regardless of species. Anyway, want some Goblin Stew? Pull up a seat, friend." I think that particular bit of the post would be easier to chew on.

There’s something wrong with Peter Graham, Billy thinks idly, dragging the back of his hand across his mouth to wipe away fur and blood. There’s something wrong with him too but it’s less pressing, less concerning, the whispering voice in the back of his head that had once prayed and begged gone quiet and soft. The thing that had resided in his body before is gone, after all, the only thing left is this craving and the scars and the permanent ache.

The deer against his knees is limp and the meat smells sweet and gamey, not unlike lamb. (He could’ve bought something from the store, but the meat there smells rotten, no matter how tightly it’s packaged).

Dulled blue eyes track the other, aware that he should be concerned about the situation in which he’d quickly find himself if the other caught even a glimpse of him, but he doesn’t fret, lets him shamble closer and closer.

Licking across his teeth, Billy finds himself in a peculiar position in which is not led by guilt so much as it’s like a wolf stumbling upon a bear trap — curious and hesitant. He wipes his face again, cleaning it as best he could which just resulted in smeared blood across his forearms, quickly growing cold, as he pushed himself up to his feet and called out — “Graham! What the hell are you doing out here?”

ultimately ilu understands why voss kept her parentage a secret for literal aeons, but she is still so hurt. the man who she worshipped and looked up to, ever since he rescued her from her burning creche, didn't trust her with that information. she knows everything he did was to protect her, but he never even gave her the chance to deal with that until it was too late

It's actually pretty heartbreaking if you think about how Billy could've been an amazing person if he wasn't raised by his abusive father, but you know what's even more heartbreaking? The fact that he can't still be excused because he was a terrible person and he couldn't gain the time to fix it.

Even though I dislike him, I feel this ocean of sympathy for him that I can't love him the way I love the other characters, and I really really wish he had a little more time left to fix everything because we know he would.

Sure, he was an awful person, but he just needed a person to understand or see through him, and once that happened, he sacrificed himself to save everybody else, and it's just so overwhelming to even think about it.
