i really dont know how to explain the different characterisations w swap!alana nd swap!zoe but when i post more art about em youll defo notice it. what i can say about swap!alana is that she isnt as hostile towards swap!connor at the start as zoe is to evan, more confused by the whole thing

not much to say about swap!heidi and swap!cynthia. swap!cynthia is still as absent as heidi but swap!heidi and swap!mark arent as... in love ?? as cythia and larry are ?? their marriage is lowkey hangin on by the thinnest thread. if that makes any sense

as for design i really didnt wanna js swap their cannon outfits nd call it a day because i think thats boring, but it also means that i have to make outfits from scratch while also making it make sense for their swap while also not being too samey or different from the original and also colour schemes which is.... hard. im trying T_T if the designs suck its because i have no idea what im doing hope this helps !!

Very genuinely important question

So, in a modern AU, I feel like all the Newsies would have drastically different music tastes from each other, and I have almost all of them figured out, but I need y'all to tell me if I'm right

Spot: Mother Mother, specifically both Haylofts and Burning Pile since he thinks it makes him look badass, but also he relates to a lot of the lyrics and likes to scream them. On the other side of things, he likes listening to egotistical songs (mostly from Bradways and shit) because they make him feel better about himself. (I give you as an example, What The World Needs from Ride The Cyclone. He loves RTC, Ocean is his favorite character. He hates her character arc tho.)

Race: Half Cavetown/Alex G/Will Wood, and other music artists that just make music for a living, half surprisingly upbeat songs, mostly from shows, games and movies, that for the most part aren't made to be listened to as much as he does. For example, No Girl's Toy from the Raggedy Ann/Andy movie had him in a chokehold for a little bit, same with the Cab Calloway version of St. James Infirmary Blues from Betty Boop's Snow White (Specifically JUST that version- he refuses to listen to the other ones). He is not allowed to have his playlist of shuffle in the lodging house because it'll skip right from the most depressing song you've ever heard to some random ass thing from the Cuphead soundtrack.

David: Doesn't listen to actual music with lyrics most of the time. No, he puts on that one 10 hour lo-fi compilation from Youtube. If he does want actual music though it's shit like MARINA and Melanie Martinez. Also, he LIVED AND BREATHED the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack at one point. There's also a few songs he likes but he doesn't listen to anything else from the artist/source material, most notably Soldier, Poet, King and It's Not A Game/It's Just A Ride (After Spot forced everyone to watch RTC with him and Race).

Jack: COUNTRY MUSIC. But also, not actual country music. He likes the aethstetic (because cowboy) but can't stand the music, so he gets away with saying it's country music by listening to shit like I Love You Like An Alcoholic. He's gotten caught once listening to Hug All Ur Friends after Race recommended it, but he always used headphones after that. Also, being the tenor icon he is, he would be in choir and all his choir pieces (specifically the concerning sounding ones) are on his spotify playlist. (I raise you: A Silence Haunts Me. Look it up. Also, yes, as a Tenor who sang that piece with the choir I'm in, it's still in my playlist.)

Crutchie/Les: Grouped together because these two have the same music taste and share headphones a lot. It consists of AJR (They like the vibe of the music and both giggle quietly when it swears) The entire lion guard soundtrack, a bunch of Yaelokre songs and other fantasy-sounding stuff, and a bunch of My Little Pony (g4) songs.

Albert: Doesn't listen to as much music as the others, but he notably blasts the entire Hazbin Hotel soundtrack whenever he's watching the younger kids, very loudly yelling all the swears. He doesn't even watch Hazbin Hotel, he just does it to piss everyone off for fun. Jack hates this but can't really do anything about it.

(I’m quite salty about this bc I worked at GameStop at this time and had people constantly talking about glitches in casual conversation and I just know most of these bitches were LYING.)

Weakness One Year Anniversary

On April 14th, 2023 my friend Toni and I went to see a college production of Be More Chill. We lived three hours apart at the time, and I bought the tickets on a whim even though I would have to rush to make it to show time. I loved the production, even seeing some of my old classmates as background characters. It was a great night of reconnecting with both my friend and the show.

One week later, April 21st, I posted the first chapter of a fanfic called Weakness. Originally I was going to write the fic for the Dear Evan Hansen fandom, but going to the production of Be More Chill changed my course of direction. And now one year, a lot of fan art, almost 300,000 words, and some new friends later: I am still in love with the fic.

Weakness brought a lot of firsts for me. I had never written a Be More Chill fic with the intent of telling a proper story before. I had never received fan art based on a specific fic before. I had never video chatted for over three hours just to talk about fanfic before. I had never rewritten a fic under different circumstances and contexts before. And in the past year I’ve now done all of that.

It might seem silly to celebrate the birthday of a fanfic, but Weakness was my first step into the BMC fandom proper, and even now I’m still mostly a lurker. However, if not for Weakness I wouldn’t have auditioned for BMCblr, I wouldn’t have met @h0n3yk1tt3n—spoiler alert they’re the reason most of the AU exists—and I wouldn’t have shared my brain rot with the world.

In an ideal world I would be posting the last chapter of Frailty today. Unfortunately that won’t be happening, but I do have a fanfic treat to celebrate! James Heere is my favorite struggling dad, to the point that I’ve taken him and made his own character—origin story to boot. My favorite animal is probably a horse or bunnies (horses because I used to do competitive horse riding and bunnies because they're so cute)

I would really like to tell people about my ocs and all of the aus I have for my ocs and their even changing backstories but its really personal to me and I wouldn't be able to properly share it with anyone

I like to daydream about really bad things happening to me, like genuinely horrific things. I then try to feel all the emotions happening at that time and then I get upset at something that will never even happen ;)

Day 5 OCtober: Re-Designed OC

Here we have Alek’s. My first design of him 6 years ago, and my design of him now in the HunterVerse AU (with Priya or sometimes Petro depending on the universe. Gender isn’t really hardwired in the multiverse, except for Alek. Alek is always a guy and even if he wasn’t born that way he will always be a dude). Obviously he’s gone from rocking that ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ type aesthetic to the blacksmith ensemble.

He’s an entirely too serious guy that anyone would think is not breaking any laws. Unfortunately they’d be wrong. Putting aside his “better than all of you” demeanour he’s not immune to a prank now and then (especially if it’s for the greater good). And you can’t have Priya for a partner if you’re NOT going to lay down your morals for the latest hyper-fixation that week.

In the HunterVerse he’s a blacksmith, infusing magic from the lay-line into weapons and armour. There are some tattoos peaking out from under his collar, those are runes. They’re what all people who work around the lay-lines get when they’re of age (about 12). It helps strengthen your connection to magic (and keep your trapped in the compound). He’s working through people constantly mis-gendering him, and trying not to snap at anyone (positions are tenuous, he can’t afford to step out of line). Luckily, Priya doesn’t take any of this shit and constantly jumps at the opportunity to put anyone in their place (no matter how tenuous her position is too).

Side note: Hunters have runes too. They carve a promise to themselves on the non dominant wrist, they’re partner (hunting partner in this case) carves a promise to them on their dominant hand, then one member of their family carved a promise to the homeland on their back. It’s all very fucked up since they’re 12.

Hello everyone! This blog will primarily be devoted to reblogging stuff I like, posting my random thoughts and shitposts, and occasionally actual content related to some of my interests. I moved over here from a different website that shut down its social functions, so I'll mostly use tumblr to fill the space I used to use that site for (screaming into the void). That being said, I know absolutely fuck all about the functionality of tumblr and so probably no one will see my posts but whatever.

I'm 24, transmasc, bisexual, grey ace, white, fat, and from the US

Virgo sun, Leo moon, Sagittarius rising (I don't put a ton of stock in astrology, but just in case you do)

I have a degree in something I don't even like that should be useful but isn't (neuroscience), with a minor in something I love that unfortunately isn't considered useful by wider society (lgbtq studies)

I live with chronic anxiety and depression. I also am possibly (probably) neurodivergent, but because I haven't been officially evaluated I choose not to claim any diagnoses

Some of my interests and likes include:

movies and tv shows, I love random horror movies (especially slashers, I LOVE the Child's Play series, and Teeth is underrated) and teen films (The Breakfast Club is my favorite movie of all time). my special interest shows that I watch over and over because they make me feel good are Bob's Burgers, Bones, King of the Hill, Friends, The Big Bang Theory

animals, especially ones that society deems unsavory like pigeons, rats, raccoons, opossums and crows as well as cute animals that I deem cuddly like dogs, cats, pigs, cows, and bears (I would totally cuddle a bear if it wouldn't eat me)

casual video games, I'm a semi-committed simmer (TS4). I would love to play more video games but unfortunately I get pretty bad screen sickness and have a laptop that runs like a potato so I stick to casual games

food, I am more of a slut for food than I am for people. I love homey foods like lasagna, mac and cheese, sweet red wines, cornbread, and chocolate. To paraphrase Gene Belcher "Lasagna is the reason I'm fat!"

watching youtube, I watch youtube videos pretty much every night before bed, here's a list of channels I watch somewhat regularly: jammidodger, onetopic, dan & phil, lilsimsie, laurenzside, watts the safeword, smosh, the kitchen & jorn show, celinaspookyboo, kallmekris, safiya nygaard, ty turner, shaaba, the try guys

theatre, shows I have seen live include: Beetlejuice, Come From Away, My Fair Lady, Jagged Little Pill, Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen. Shows I like even though I haven’t seen them live include: Chicago, Hamilton, Little Shop of Horrors, West Side Story, Sweeney Todd, Hairspray

body mods, I love piercings, tattoos, dyed hair, and other body mods. I appear pretty conventional to the outside world, but I hope to get more body mods someday (I currently only have stretched ear lobes)

Some of my previous interests that have been dulled by my depression and antidepressants but I would like to get back into include:

music, I'll listen to pretty much anything and like at least one song from pretty much every genre but my favorites include classic rock and alt rock

writing, I used to write religiously and my dream is to be a published novelist. I write a lot of different genres from poetry to fantasy, mystery to teen fiction, but I've never actually finished any of my writing over 10 pages. I was raised on Harry Potter (I do not stand with jkr, I actively stand against her) and still occasionally write queer HP fanfics (the Deamus and Wolfstar ships have my heart and soul, I have entire AUs dedicated to them in my head)

reading, until covid hit I would devour ebooks whenever I had a free moment but since then I've consumed less than 10 books total, most of which were audiobooks on long road trips

I don't anticipate this blog being super political outside of queer stuff and possibly ranting about the stupidities of the US government, but for the record I am very left leaning. I support reproductive rights (including abortion), environmental protection and stopping climate change, the BLM movement and racial justice, inclusive feminism, voter rights, universal healthcare for all, prison reform, drug decriminalization, religious freedom for all religions (with actual separation between church and state), obviously queer and trans rights, scientific fact over political bullshit (including mandatory vaccinations). I stand with Ukraine, Palestine, and all others who are trapped under an oppressive government or regime.
