'...8. SPECTRE (2015)
Director: Sam Mendes. Writers: John Logan, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Jez Butterworth. Starring Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Andrew Scott.
I know that there are some fans who feel that âSpectreâ is one of the best Bonds ever, but I consider it one of the middling films in the series, despite the presence of two-time Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz as Blofeld and a budget nearing $300 million. The plot is the usual âmastermind with a foolproof plan to take over the worldâ stuff, though there are several elements of the film that really click â Waltz is an absolute hoot as Blofeld, several of the stunt sequences are breathtaking, and Mendes has assembled a strong supporting cast, including Naomie Harris, Andrew Scott, Dave Bautista, Ralph Fiennes and Monica Belluci. Though I believe that Mendes is much more effective directing intimate stories, a Bond film requires a a spectacular vision, and Mendes certainly provides it here...
1. 1917 (2019)
Director: Sam Mendes. Writers: Sam Mendes, Krysty Wilson-Cairns. Starring George MacKay. Dean-Charles Chapman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott.
Although there were some critics that argued that the technology got in the way of the filmâs characterization, Mendesâ World War I film â1917â is a spectacular achievement. Though supposedly shot in a single two-hour take (the cuts are there if you look hard enough), the technique allows the viewer to feel the grueling journey that these two British soldiers must take through the trenches in order to save another squadron from walking into a deadly trap. For his direction of â1917,â Mendes won his second Golden Globe Award as well as being nominated for his second Academy Award and his third BAFTA Award.'

1917 (2019)
Directed by : Sam Mendes

Cockney Kisses

Summary: You and Dean had broken up a couple of months ago, but at a random dinner party you see him for the first time since you split, and you're far from over him and it seems like he's not really over you either.
A/N: Smut is between the asterisks (*) so you can skip it or skip right to it, as you prefer. Please let me know if you spot any typos, missing words, wrong verb forms, and so on, so I can fix it.

Arriving at the dinner party you didn't quite know what to expect. Your head was somewhere else, for the past month you had been feeling quite empty and disconnected, unsure if it had anything to do with the breakup you had gone through 3 months prior. You really liked Dean, and now looking back you had no idea what had happened that might have led you two apart. Were you too different? , you wondered, was it him that didn't like you anymore? Was it you that stopped liking him?. No, that wasn't it, you still thought about him all the time, you still had so much love for him...
Amidst your musings you were met with the man of your dreams, in all the senses of the phrase. There he was, right there in front of you, in the flesh. In a black suit that fitted him perfectly, his hair done all nice and smooth, he always looked so handsome in a suit. You hadn't seen him since you broke up.
He looked at you and smiled, that gorgeous, sweet smile of his that you had no idea you missed so much. You felt your heart tighten with longing for Dean, you were far from over him. He approached you, placed a hand on the exposed skin of your arm and kissed your cheek, you couldn't help but blush a little at the touch and suddenly you felt so shy, like you were meeting him for the first time. All the intimacy you two had shared, whether it be in the form of shared bodies in the bedroom or in the form of disclosed secrets and innermost thoughts, came flooding through your mind.
And now it was like you were old acquaintances, making small talk at a random event.
"Hi, how have you been?", he asked with a smile, and you thought you saw the faintest slight of pink tingeing his cheeks.
You smiled back shyly and replied "Good, how about you?"
You both stood there a little awkwardly, trying to make small talk for a couple more minutes before you went back to your respective friend groups to spend the rest of the evening.
After dinner, as always, you sneaked up to the top of the building, sometimes all you had was a remote corner of a bar or room or  a quiet garden somewhere, or wherever place you could find that was the most secluded at an event. You weren't really one for parties, always hated crowds, would much rather have small, intimate gatherings with people you actually knew and liked.
You sat on the cold cement floor of the rooftop overlooking the night sky and the city lights, such a beautiful and peaceful scenery. You instantly felt more relaxed. You fixed the smooth fabric of your long black dress over your legs, covering them completely, and hugged your knees.
It was chilly, not too much, but enough to make your arms cold. After a while you hear the door to the rooftop open and close, you didn't look back to peep at the person, the roof was big enough for someone to go over to the other side and not even notice you.
But soon after, you hear feet approaching and someone sits down beside you. You finally glance sideways and see Dean on your right, a cigarette in his mouth and his signature cheeky smile.
"Thought you might be here...", he said, the words partially muffled due to the cigarette in his mouth. He took a lighter out of the pocket of his suit jacket and lit it up, covering it until the tip ignited like a little ember and joined the tiny city lights.
You turned away, looking at your feet, lightly scraping the cement with the tip of your shoe.
"You always did have a weird sixth sense for finding me...", you say, still looking down.
"Thought you had quit.", you added, pointing at the cigarette.
He gives you a sad smile and shrugs, saying "Some things never change, I guess...".
You looked back down again, a comfortable silence taking over for a few minutes.
He brushed the back of his fingers against your arm, checking to see if you were cold, the warmth of his hand contrasting with your chilly skin, the gesture so nonchalant, like it was a regular thing to do to ex-girlfriends.
Silently, he removed his jacket and placed it over your shoulders, trying to cover as much of your arms as he could. You thanked him, not even attempting to decline his kind gesture and the comfort it brought you. He used to do this all the time when you were together, he knew you weren't cold per se but your arms always got chilly. Besides, it had an emotional warmth to it, the heat of his body and his scent still lingering on the jacket always made you feel much more at ease after a long night of dealing with too many people. You smiled at the memories, you missed having someone in your life that cared that much about you.
You looked at Dean, eyeing him up and down, he looked gorgeous in that suit...
"Looking very dapper...", you said with a smile, "Gonna have to set up a queue for all the ladies tonight...", you added.
He chuckled, taking a drag of the cigarette and slowly exhaling the smoke through his mouth.
"Thanks.", Â he said with a coy smile, the word coming out charged with his characteristic cockney accent. "Highly doubt it, though... Haven't had much luck in that department lately...", he added, eyes glued to the city ahead.
You turn your head forward, looking at the skyline, unable to hold the slight smile tugging at your lips, you couldn't help but feel a little glad at the fact that he probably hadn't been with anyone else since you broke up, too. It was kind of selfish of you, but the pang of guilt quickly faded.
"Well, that makes two of us.", you confess with a sigh.
"The ladies giving you a hard time too?", he asks mockingly.
You chuckle at the corny joke that you were already half expecting.
"Haven't had much luck in any department really...", you mumbled. "But I especially miss sex...", you confess with an ironic chuckle, unsure if it was the champagne taking advantage of your low alcohol tolerance, or the actual fact that you hadn't shaboinked since you and Dean broke up.
And now he was right there, looking utterly heavenly in that suit, smoking like he didn't have a care in the world and you knew what his lips would taste like if you kissed, slightly like alcohol mixed with the faintest taste of smoke; And his neck would smell like his cologne, that he always applied on all the recommended pulse points, and if you buried your face in his dress shirt you would smell the smoke there too, and the light scent of the detergent from his regular dry-cleaner's, and God... You just really wanted him right now.
You must have been staring at him like a hungry wolf, but he didn't seem to mind. A knowing smirk gracing his lips when he met your gaze, electricity pulsing in the air between you. You were almost sure he knew what was going through your head, he had a knack for guessing what you were thinking sometimes.
He looked down, expelling another cloud of smoke, that smirk still lingering on his face. "Yeah, I miss that too... Haven't been with anyone since we broke up.", he said, looking at the sky ahead.
Silence falls between you once again. Both of you unsure what to say next.
"So... You still living Isaac?", you ask after a while, trying to sound casual like there wasn't an ulterior motive hiding behind the question.
"No, he moved out a month ago.", he replied, exhaling smoke towards the city sky. "Why? Wanna pay me a visit one of these days?", he asked cheekily, sending you a side glance, that stupid, delicious smirk still marking his features.
You look over at him, smiling and blushing slightly before you say "I was thinking more like tonight...".
 [...]
Now you were in his bedroom, both of you busy with taking your respective shoes and socks off, Dean on one side of the bed and you on the other, like you were just a regular couple coming home after a night out, were it not for the slight nervousness hanging in the air.
"I'm gonna cum embarrassingly fast.", you say blatantly, opening the zipper on your high heels.
"Well, that makes two of us.", he replied with a smile, "But we've got all night.", he added in a low tone.
You climbed on the bed, resting on your knees, facing him, Dean did the same on the other side, one of his hands reached for his tie as his fingers expertly worked the knot, slowly removing it, his eyes deliberately fixed on yours while he did it. His suit pants and dress shirt were still on as he approached you till you were only a few inches apart.
(*)
He grabbed your hips and pulled you in even closer, heat seeping in from his hands through the thin fabric of your dress and spreading through your whole body. He placed his forehead against yours, you could feel his breath on your lips, your hands slid all the way from his lower abdomen to rest on his chest, his breath quickening at the contact.
He moved to kiss your cheek and made his way to your ear, playfully nibbling on it, making your breath hitch, a smirk formed on his face from seeing he still had an effect on you.
He kissed the place bellow your ear and whispered "I missed you so much...", putting his head in the crook of your neck and inhaling your scent while wrapping his arms around you with a sigh, like someone who finally arrived home after a long day.
You felt how his body instinctively relaxed as you wrapped your arms tightly around his neck, revelling in the feeling of just being able to hold him like this again, the embrace unusually sweet and innocent in comparison to the reason that brought you to his room in the first place.
"I missed you terribly, you have no idea...", you replied, hugging him tighter.
Minutes passed until Dean broke the embrace to finally place his lips on yours, his kiss soft and slow but sensual, his hands grabbing your face eagerly, your fingers wrapping around his wrists with just as much fervour. Lips parting only when you both ran out of breath, smiling and staring at each other like two kids who had just discovered kissing, before you dipped in for another kiss, this one slightly more hungry.
Your first kiss in months and you would be content with just doing this, just kissing him for hours, nothing else, and you would die a happy woman.
He sucked on your bottom lip, giving it a playful nibble before he slipped his tongue into your mouth clashing it with yours, massaging it with his own. His hands slid all the way from your face to your hips, and then moved to squeeze your ass, pushing your bodies even closer, until your hips met. Your lips parted, both of you breathless, your hands, that had moved to Dean's neck when he released your face, made their way to the buttons on his dress shirt, slowly opening them one by one and then as slowly untucking the shirt from his pants, the feeling of it being dragged away against his boxer briefs was enough to make him suck a breath, and a mischievous grin spread across your face as you kissed him once more.
Your hands slid under his shirt and glided from his lower abdomen, up to his chest and then to his shoulders where you slipped the shirt down his arms and threw it to the floor, your lips still connected, your tongues rolling over each other.
You undid his belt, then slowly dragged the zipper down, making sure your fingers brushed lightly against his crotch, the touch making him even harder. You pulled the pants down as further as they would go and Dean broke the kiss, clumsily sitting on the bed to eagerly pull his pants all the way down as fast as he could and threw them to the floor.
He got back on his knees, smiling at your amused expression before he grabbed your hips again with need and pulled them flush against his, your hands grabbing his biceps for steadiness. He brushed his lips against yours, teasing you simultaneously by not giving you his mouth and by pressing his hardness against you, making you squeeze his biceps harder.
Desperate with need, you moved your hands to the back of his head, pulling it down so you could crash your lips against his, your fingers dived in his smooth hair and lightly tugged on it, the action eliciting a small groan from Dean.
He moved his hands to the hem of your dress, trying to get it off, you lifted your knees to help him slide it from under your legs and up and over your raised arms, leaving you both now only in your underwear.
His hands quickly returned to your body, now skin on skin, his touch burned as he slowly slid them all the way from your shoulders down to your lower back, digging his fingers into the skin there, while his tongue continued to move against yours.
He splayed his hands dragging them back up your back, stopping in the middle to unclasp your bra and then gently pulling each strap down your shoulders before removing it completely. His gaze closely following his movements.
His eyes met yours again before he kissed your lips, his hands made their way down from your collarbones to your hips, thumbs absentmindedly brushing your nipples on the way down before coming to rest below your ribcage, his fingers grasping the skin hungrily, before sliding back up to your chest to massage your breasts and caress your nipples with the tip of his thumbs, making them obediently perk up at the touch.
He moved his kisses to your jaw line, Â and then to your neck, where he licked and sucked the delicate skin there, making you gasp. He continued his path down, leaving a trail of fresh love bites all the way to your breasts while your nails ran through his back softly, leaving a trail of goose bumps in their wake.
You grabbed the back of his neck, thumbs hooking under his jaw, eagerly pulling him back up to your lips, your tongue invading his mouth and swirling around his while one of your hands slid between his legs, slowly stroking him over his black boxer briefs.
His breath quickened, his mouth becoming ajar, you took this opportunity to leave open mouthed kisses all over his jaw and down his neck, nibbling on his collarbone, making your way down, while one of  his hands moved from your nape to your hair, tugging at the roots lightly.
You moved your hands down his sides and slipped them under his boxer briefs, giving his ass a playful squeeze. He looked down at you smiling, still panting, you looked up at him returning the smile and teasingly bit his belly making him wince, you removed his underwear and pushed him on the bed, quickly straddling him and slowly rolling  your hips against his, his hands squeezing your thighs hard.
He bucked his hips up making you slightly lose your balance, and used it as an opportunity to move his hands to your hip bones and roll you over, pinning you underneath him, his hands let go of your wrists and his fingers moved to lace with yours while his head dipped in to give you a slow, passionate kiss.
You wrapped your legs around his waist, pushing his hips down against yours so you could rub yourself against his hard length.
Dean breaks the kiss and takes off your only remaining piece of underwear. He quickly puts two fingers into his mouth before he brings them to your clit, rubbing it, making you arch your back and grind against his hand. His lips connect with yours again as he slides his fingers down to your soaked entrance and inserts one, slowly moving it inside and out a few of times before adding another, his palm still rubbing your clit.
"Please, just get inside me...", you plead, looking up at him. He flashes a smile and gives you a quick peck on the lips before grabbing a condom from the bedside table and putting it on.
He positions himself between your legs and uses one of his hands to guide his length as he, very slowly, sinks in to you.
"Fuck...", he mutters under his breath as your tight warmth envelops him, one of his hands going up to grip the sheets next to your head while the other remained on your hip.
You grab onto him, fingers digging into his hips. He slowly pulls back and eases in again, his forehead coming to rest against yours as you exchange breathless kisses.
He repeats the movement, his hips setting up a slow pace as his hands fly to your neck, thumbs delicately caressing your throat, your pulse beating rapidly underneath them as his mouth consumed yours.
You moan into his mouth, your hands running through his back as your legs wrap tighter around his waist, pulling him closer and deeper.
He moves his weight to one of his elbows, his other hand gripping your thigh as his hips continue to draw slow thrusts into you, your breaths heavy as you lock eyes, the intimacy between the two of you had never left, neither did your love and admiration for each other, all of those feelings and more now coming up to the surface and flooding through you.
He dips in for another deep kiss, one of your hands moving from the back of his neck and into his hair, the other gripping onto his shoulder blade.
He picks up the pace, his hips thrusting into you faster, a thin sheen of sweat covered your entwined bodies, Dean's cheeks starting to flush red from the effort and the pleasure.
His fingers digging hard into the skin of your hips, the friction caused by the closeness of your bodies stimulating you in time with his thrusts, pushing you dangerously close to the edge.
"Fuck, I'm so close...", you mutter breathlessly, true to your words earlier on.
You feel him smirk against the crook of your neck, he places an open mouthed kiss there, then licks a stripe up to your ear, nibbling on the lobe, making you shiver with pleasure, his hips continuing to slam into yours.
He pulls up, now supporting his weight on his knees, your bodies still linked as he slows down his thrusts, his hands gripping the junction of where your hips meet your legs. You gasp at the loss of friction and reach for his now distant body, slowly raking your nails through his stomach and then placing your hands atop his.
A provocative smile plays on his lips as he lazily rolls his hips into yours, not giving you what you want, that cocky little teasing bastard... But two can play that game.
You detach yourself from Dean, catching him by surprise, and quickly straddle his lap, making him sit back down on his knees. You kiss him hard, hands gripping the sides of his neck, and then slide one of them down, grabbing his cock and aligning it with your entrance as you slowly sink down onto him, both of you releasing soft moans as the new position got him buried deeper inside you than before.
You ride him slow, your hips moving in lazy circles, his hands move to cup your ass, squeezing it and urging you to move faster, you smirk, wrapping your arms around his neck and kissing him once more before you give in to his wishes and pick up the pace.
Both of you now struggling to hold on just a little longer, torn between the need to go slow and enjoy every little detail and the hunger to consume each other, to appease the fire burning inside.
One of your hands reaches for the back of his head, lightly tugging on the soft hair there while the other remains on his neck. He moves his hands up your back, wrapping his arms around you, tightening the embrace, pushing your slick, hot bodies even closer together, your hips now slamming against his.
He tilts his head up to press sloppy kisses on your lips, his cheeks stained red, his forehead covered with a thin layer of sweat, both of you a panting mess. You wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him even closer to you, it felt like there wasn't enough of him, you wanted even more of him as you slammed your hips down against his even faster.
The feeling of his scorching skin rubbing against yours, hitting all the right spots, the feeling of him inside you, of his strong arms pulling you close against his body were making you fall apart.
Drowning in pleasure, you clench around him, a small moan escaping your lips as Dean thrusts up into you a couple more times, burying his face on your chest and groaning softly as he comes undone.
You both stand there, unmoving, panting for a solid minute before Dean slides his legs from underneath him and lies down with you still on top, your head resting on his chest. He removes himself from you, gets rid of the condom and absentmindedly starts running his fingers through the valley of skin where your spine stretches through. Â
Silence hanged in the air, both of you now painfully aware that this was about more than just sex, some raw needs had been fulfilled, but there was still something missing, it was clear you both still loved each other.
Feeling completely blissed out and exhausted you both drifted to sleep.
(*)
[...]
Hours later, after having woken up and made sure you made up for all the lost time in the bedroom, you're now lying naked on the bed face down. With your head resting on your folded arms you turn it sideways in Dean's direction, "Aren't you gonna have a smoke?", you ask playfully. Â Â
He is sitting down, slouching a bit, his head and shoulders pressed against the headboard, his hands resting on the sheet that covered him up to his belly button. His hair a mess, sticking in all directions, but still looking extra smooth despite the work of your lustful fingers.
"I quit.", he finally replied with a sad smile, glancing over at your slightly confused expression before looking away.
The memory of your rooftop encounter earlier, where he had a cigarette between his lips, flashes through your mind.
"I asked a mate for a cigarette so I had an excuse to go to the rooftop without you suspecting it might be just to see you...", he added with a sad smile, slightly embarrassed at the confession.
[...]
More hours passed, but you were both still lying completely naked in bed, bellies down, having a heart to heart like the good ol' days. Your eyelids were heavy, but still you refused to stop looking at each other, like you might not get the chance again. Dean's hand laid on the pillow, under your chin, his thumb lazily stroking it from time to time, while your hand rested on his forearm, your thumb mimicking his actions. Â
"I finally finished that script I told you about before, not sure if you remember...", he said hesitantly, his voice deep with sleep, the last part came out so quietly you almost didn't catch it.
"Of  course I do!", you said with a reassuring smile, making a smile pop right back in his face too.
"You would never let me read it, though...", you added with fake resentment. "Can I read it now that it's finished?", Â you asked, eyes begging.
"You don't have too, this isn't why you're here for...", he said, a sad tone underlying his words.
"Just let me see!", you replied, stretching out your hand in a 'give it here' motion.
He obeys, reaching for the drawer in his bedside table and taking out a thin pile of scribbled up paper sheets secured on top by a paper clip.
"This is still a rough first draft... It's just... I just... Wanted to see what you think...", he said, holding it away from your open hand.
"It's okay, I've been dying to read it. I'm sure it's good, and what matters the most is that you did it and hopefully enjoyed doing it. It's your first time too, so you can't be too harsh on yourself and expect an Oscar winning screenplay first try, love.", you said sitting up, the affectionate nickname slipping out of your mouth out of habit from when you were together.
He gave you one of those side smiles, the pet name not going by unnoticed, and placed the script in your hand.
He had always been so insecure about his work and everything he did, yet he was so good and always worked so hard, it broke your heart knowing he couldn't see that himself.
You look at the title: "Cockney Kisses: an Essex Western" and chuckle.
"Looks very promising already.", you say smiling, flipping to the first page.

A figure lies against a tree, eyes closed - this is SCHOFIELD, early-20s. Soft features. A man is sleeping next to him on the grass - BLAKE, 19, youthful, strapping.
SERGEANT SANDERS (O.S.) Blake.
Blake doesnât stir.
SERGEANT SANDERS (O.S.) Blake!
Blake wakes. Heâs in uniform, damp and crumpled - Lance Corporal chevrons adorn it.
BLAKE (sleepily) Sorry, Sarge.
SERGEANT SANDERS Pick a man, bring your kit.
BLAKE Yes, Sarge.
Blake stands, stiff limbs coming back to life. Schofieldâs eyes are still shut. Blake holds out his hand to Schofield. Schofield opens his eyes - they are gentle, wise. Schofield grudgingly raises his hand for a lift. Blake heaves him to his feet - his uniform is identical to Blakeâs, same rank, the only difference is the brass wound stripe on Schofieldâs left sleeve. They trudge towards Sanders, fastening their webbing. A smattering of SOLDIERS - same regiment - same state of fatigue and filth, lie around them. Stealing sleep.Â

Mirror Mirror (Dean-Charles Chapman Smut)

warnings: smut, aggression, swearing, etc. (i DoNt kNoW wHaT iM dOiNg aNyMoRe)
word count: 2,230 (WHY IS THIS SO LONG IM SORRYIDKWHATHAPPENED)
a/n: If you prefer soft!Dean, please exit stage left because I did him so dirty... - Love, Grayce.
You stuffed your hands in your jacket pockets, pulling your phone from its hiding place as you attempted to find out exactly where you were going. The bustle of the set brought a smile to your face as you mixed into the crowd of people moving towards the large battlefield seeming to grow out of the green hills. You had planned on coming to pick Dean up for the day, a surprise which was welcomed due to your connections with the historians working on the film when you had pitched the idea. You were greeted by a few of Deanâs co-stars---friends that you had met at parties and other events for the movie---deciding to stand on the grass beside a vaguely familiar face. She explained the scene to you briefly but it came out in a jumbled mess. She seemed to know about as much as you did about the movie except you knew she had a rather large role in it.
Someone backed into you, the both of you turning quickly to apologize to the other, but you bit back your words as you realized the person was TimothĂ©e Chalamet. You blinked, slightly bewildered at the lanky boy in front of you. âIâm so sorry. I didnât spill anything on you, right?â He quickly spoke, looking you over slightly.
âHonestly, if you had I probably would have thanked you,â you quirked, letting out a nervous laugh.
He furrowed his brows slightly with a smile. âOkay, then I take back my apology.â He eyed your outfit. âDo you work here orâŠâ He trailed off, chewing on his bottom lip as he attempted to place you.
âOh! No, Iâm just visiting,â you gestured over towards the scene and something clicked in his head.
âThatâs where Iâve seen you! Youâre Deanâs girlfriend,â he replied with a sense of relief in his voice. He tucked the script under his arm he was holding and wiped a hand on his jeans, holding it out for you. âIâm that one asshole from Lady Bird.â
You chuckled, taking his hand. âI know. My sisterâs a huge fan.â
He laughed. âOh? How old is she?â
âSixteen,â you quipped with a small smirk. He acted as if he had been shot. âIâm joking.â Someone else---someone also rather good looking---crashed into your shoulder, knocking you forward and into TimothĂ©eâs cup of coffee. You winced in anticipation of the burning sensation from the liquid, but it never came, instead, it had splashed all over him. âGod, Iâm a babe magnet,â you murmured, digging in your purse for a napkin. TimothĂ©e laughed loudly at your comment. Your mouth gaped slightly. âOh, my god. That was inappropriate. I have no idea why I said that,â you stated with no inflection in your voice, causing him to giggle a little harder.
âItâs not a big deal. It was the medieval gods coming after me for not being in character. Iâm not sure if you knew this but denim wasnât popular with the clergy.â He took the sorry excuse for a napkin with a smile.
You smirked at him. âReally? I always thought Thomas Aquinas was a boyfriend cut type of guy?â You both giggled. You spotted Dean out of the corner of your eye heading towards the two of you, a rather confused look on his face. Your eyebrows perked up at his attire. His flowing hair and armor were a stark difference than what you were used to seeing. Mainly it was so surprising to you because Deanâs unofficial uniform had become sweatpants and a hoodie. âYou look amazing,â you jeered, a smile on your face as he joined you.
TimothĂ©e sent him a weak smile as Dean noticed the stain on his pants. âI see you two have met,â he jested, nodding to the stain. There was something off about him but you couldnât put your finger on it. TimothĂ©e began to explain the situation to a derisive expression of Deanâs. The director calling it quits pulled your attentions away from the conversation and a few people came to shuffle TimothĂ©e away. He sent you an apologetic smile as you waved him off. When he was finally out of sight, his eyebrow raised at you and you tilted your head.
âAre you alright?â
He sighed. âIâm fine. Donât go anywhere.â You stiffened slightly as he left for the costume trailer. You felt almost guilty like you had done something to piss Dean off, but you werenât even sure if he was mad.
You walked in silence beside Dean, your hand in his and his other absent-mindedly jingled his keys. The parking lot was beginning to empty as you finally reached his car. âHey, babe magnet!â You turned to see TimothĂ©eâs car pulling up next to you. He smiled at you. âIt was great running into you today.â
âYeah! Uh, send me the bill for dry cleaning, okay?â You stated, sending him yet another shamed expression. He brushed it off.
âDonât worry about it. See you Monday, Chapman,â he waved, pulling away after Dean sent him a smile. You noticed his face tense again. The car ride was also in silence, the tension in the air thick enough to slice with a knife. You were worried about talking to him. He had never hurt you and you knew he wouldnât, but if this was just him being grumpy and tired, itâd be better to confront him at home.
âD, are you okay?â You asked, finally getting inside your house.
He turned to you, his deadpan expression ticking you off slightly. âIâm fine.â You crossed your arms protectively over your chest, narrowing your eyes at him.
âNo, you arenât.â
âYou and TimothĂ©e seemed to really kick-off,â he quipped, an eyebrow slightly raising in your direction. His muscles tensed and he clenched his jaw slightly. The sharpening of his features sent a shiver down your spine. He looked at you almost darkly.
You shook yourself out of checking him out to send him a scoff. âSoâŠâ He took a step forward, his expression twisting slightly into an almost jokingly dark smirk. You fought not to pull him against you. âAre you jealous?â
It was his turn to scoff. âWhy would I be jealous? You came home with me.â He stood in front of you, his eyes almost glaring into yours. You hated to admit it, but such a display from him turned you on more than you would have expected. He reached forward to run a strand of your hair through his fingers. âYouâre fucking me.â You remained silent, your excitement building under his tinkering gaze. He took more of your hair in his fist and pulled you against him, crashing your lips together in an almost breathless task. His other fingers dug into your hip, bringing you flush against him. You wrapped your arms around his midsection as he tugged your bottom lip between his teeth. His tongue slipped into your mouth roughly and you moaned against his lips, your body feeling like jelly in his arms. His hands moved beneath your shirt and then down to your ass, gripping you harshly and grinding into you. At this point, you were already ready for him to have his way with you, and he seemed to get the point.
He broke away from you, leaving you almost whimpering. âGet upstairs,â he gruffly commanded before almost chasing you up the staircase, his child-like humor returning for only a moment until kicking your bedroom door shut and pulling his shirt over his head. You slipped your dress off as well, kneeling on the bed as he walked over to you, his lips finding yours again in a searing kiss. He pushed you back on the bed before dragging you towards him with a tight grip on one of your thighs. âJealous⊠Me?â He mocked. He settled above you pressing his lips against your neck and biting at the skin, eliciting a moan to fall from your lips. His hand snaked down your body at an excruciating pace to slip between your body and your underwear. He began to rub circles against your heat, leaning off of you to see your expression. You rested your hands on his neck, pulling him down to kiss you briefly so you could hide a moan threatening to burst through your body. He slipped a finger into you and you groaned, wrapping a leg around him as he began to pump his finger in and out of you. He added another as your hips began to move with his rhythm. You dug your fingernails into his back and his dark expression flashed to pride.
A knot began to build deep within you as he alternated his speeds. You felt yourself tightening around his fingers; at this rate, youâd be done for within seconds. âDeanâŠâ you whined, ready to make him quicken his fingers inside of you, but instead he retracted himself, sitting back on his knees and pulling you up to sit across from him. His fingers slipped into his mouth as his other hand reached up to rub a thumb against your swollen bottom lip, agitated from his tugging and biting. He wrapped his hand around the back of your neck, pulling you into another agonizingly short kiss before getting off the bed and dragging you into the bathroom with him. He pinned you against the counter roughly, his lips capturing yours as his tongue once again danced with yours. You held onto his shoulders to steady yourself as he unclasped your bra, his lips once again leaving yours to suck on your neck, his hand squeezing your breast while the other settled on the counter behind you. You slid your hands down to the waistband of his sweatpants, unlacing the tie but he grabbed your wrist, halting your progress.
âDonât,â he barked. He roughly turned you to look into the mirror. Your hair was disheveled, lips plump from his previous actions, bruises littering your neck and chest. Dean looked glorious and in complete control behind you as he slipped his pants off, taking his boxers with them. He practically ripped your underpants down your legs before pressing a kiss to your shoulder. âI love you,â he said, moving your hair off your neck and looking into your eyes through the reflection of the mirror. You found yourself breathing rather deeply, overcome with pure passion for him. âRemember that.â Your eyes locked to his as a sardonic smirk spread across his face and you bit back a grin of your own.
God, you were in for it.
He spat in one of his hands before wrapping it around his cock, pumping his hand a few times before bending you at the waist and slamming into you. You groaned at the aggressive nature of his action: something so different from his usual manner in the bedroom. You gripped the edge of the counter as he pulled out of you only to fill you back up once again, snapping his hips into yours. As he pounded into you, letting a string of curses fall from his lips in a deeper octave you hadnât reached before, your eyes shut in pleasure, attempting to keep yourself together.
Dean drove a fist into your hair yanking your head back up and tsking at you in disappointment. âWatch, sweetheart.â His lust blown eyes burned into you through the mirror as he leaned over you slightly, pressing his lips to your back before standing up straighter and pulling your hips against him, driving himself deeper into you. You knew his fingers would leave bruises and, in a way, you wanted them too. Dean moaned, biting his lip at your slack-jawed expression, his thrusts sloppy. You were thankful for his tight grip on you because your knees were weakening by the second, with each of his movements.
You couldnât take the wait anymore. âIâm closeâŠâ you moaned, looking up at him through the mirror.
He shook his head. His pace picked up even more and your eyes threatened to roll as goosebumps began to spread over your body. âBeg,â he grunted.
âPlease, Dean.â It became harder and harder to hold yourself together as you felt each of his jerks and movements. He leaned over you once more, his face next to yours in the mirror. Both of you were covered in a sheer layer of sweat with the look of pure lust for one another mixing with the colors of your irises.
âCum.â It took milliseconds to reach your climax with his permission and he rode out his own orgasm against you, leaving the two of you panting and barely able to stand. He pulled out of you and you dropped to your knees slightly, a lazy expression covering your face. He helped you up and he leaned against the counter. You took this opportunity to fully examine his work. He watched you with bliss still playing in his eyes.
âShit, if I had known it took spilling coffee on TimothĂ©e Chalamet to bring that out in you, I would have done it sooner,â you jeered, smirking at him.
Dean stood up, crossing his arms and sending you a cocky grin. âJoke all you want. Iâm not the one that was bent over the sink, my love,â he quipped, cheekily slapping your ass as he exited the bathroom.

1917: Brotherhood in a War-zone
If you have not seen 1917Â you should know there are major spoilers ahead. You should also know that you are missing out on what can only be assumed as the best film of the century thus far. Go watch it. Seriously, go.
For those who saw my post a few days ago I finally got around to watching the phenomenal Sam Mendes war film 1917 starring George MacKay and Dean Charles-Chapman. Sprinkled throughout the film are also an ensemble cast of supporting actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Andrew Scott, Mark Strong, Richard Madden and Colin Firth. And if you saw that post youâve seen how I was justifiably blown away by how extraordinary the film was. Since then I have watched it several more times, yes several back-to-back viewings in which I took notes, picked out things I missed the first few times and essentially got swept away with each watch. I have also watched interviews with the cast and crew and read the script online. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love this film. But I will give it a go in the following analysis of what this film meant to me, and what Sam Mendes was clearly striving to convey to audiences. Fair warning, this is gonna be a long one.
At the beginning of the film we start off in a quiet, beautiful meadow untouched by war. Flowers swaying in a gentle breeze, clouds overcasting the scene below, and the seemingly âone-shotâ begins. An interesting way for a film about World War I, or âThe Great Warâ as some called it, to kick off. However, this start becomes important in comparison to the ending which we will examine more closely later. The thing to note for now is the peace of the present atmosphere, and the two soldiers we find napping beneath a tree.
These soldiers are Lance Corporals Thomas Blake and William Schofield. Blake is soon summoned by his Sergeant and told to âpick a manâ. On my initial viewing of this film I at first thought that Blake chose Schofield due to his proximity to him. Throughout the film itâs clear they know each other and have for some time, but it wasnât until I read the script and saw the movie a few extra times that I realized Blake and Schofield are proper friends, brothers even, and that their friendship is vital to the overall story being told. In an interview, Sam Mendes mentioned that Blake was âthe heart of the filmâ, and in the script it actually says, when Schofield is carrying Blakeâs lifeless corpse, that ânothing is heavier than the body of someone you lovedâ. So though we are only seeing a small fragment of time between these two friends we can see that they have a history and a bond that will deepen in the course of this story.
The first glimpse at this bond comes from the beginning. Blake asks Schofield if they were fed today, and Schofield replies that they only got mail from home as he precedes to hand Blake a letter. Blake reads the letter and comments wistfully âMyrtleâs having puppiesâ to which Schofield smiles. This small interaction tells us that Blake was not around when that dayâs shipment came in, possibly he was already napping by the tree. It tells us that Schofield was there and was either handed, or offered to take, Blakeâs mail. Itâs clear that wherever Blake had been during the shipment he still ended up napping under that tree before Schofield, as Schofield chose to keep the letter on him to give to Blake later, presumably so as not to interrupt his friendâs sleep. The other thing we can assume is that this is not the first time Schofield has heard about Myrtle. Thereâs a familiarity in the way Blake mentions âMyrtleâs having puppiesâ, and not âmy dog is having puppiesâ. Sure we can easily assume who Myrtle is as can Schofield, but the offhand, familiar way he tells Schofield this bit of news implies that Blake has probably talked about his dog before. Also the fact that neither asks about each otherâs families also implicates that they may have already spoken or asked about these things. Mostly I see Blake being the one asking about and volunteering information on family as Schofield offers small, un-detailed glimpses of his home. But all in all the interaction gives us enough information to show us that these two soldiers are already friends, which adds a level of sweetness to when Schofield shares half of his ham and bread with Blake.
After our introduction into the relationship of these soldiers we are next taken into a dugout where we meet Colin Firthâs General Erinmore. It is here that we find out the plot of the story. Blake and Schofield, one by summons and the other by chance, are commanded to carry a message through âNo Manâs Landâ across enemy territory. The message: the Germans have withdrawn from their present occupation and have formed a new, much more fortified line (known in history as the Hindenburg line), essentially setting a trap for the 2nd Devons which are prepared to give chase. The 2nd Devons, whose leaders were unaware of this strategic move on the Germanâs part, consisted of around 1,600 men. One of those men included Lt. Joseph Blake, older brother of Thomas Blake.
So our characters now have their mission and for Blake in particular there is a deep personal connection. For both the stakes are high. Blake knows that if they fail their mission there is certain death for his brother and 1,600 men. Schofield knows that if they undertake this mission there is almost certain death for either one or both of them. As they begin their journey to the front up the down trench we begin to get a picture of how these two men differ from one another. Blake, moved by his brotherâs life in the balance, takes off without another thought while Schofield desperately tries to reason that they need to take the time to plan out what they are going to do. Schofield is in favor of waiting till dark in order to give Blake and himself the best fighting chance against being spotted while Blake wants to set out immediately in order to reach his brother with time to spare. Itâs clear Blake is the emotional one while Schofield the rational of the pair.Â
Each manâs view on the matter is understandable. Anyone in Blakeâs position would want to save someone they loved, and being younger, more emotional, and more reckless with far less experience in the war, he is not inclined to hear Schofield out. Schofield on the other hand has some experience as we learn when Blake asks about his time at the Battles of Somme, and comments on how Schofield earned a medal from his actions at the Battle of Theipval Ridge. Schofield replies that he doesnât remember much from the battle and that he no longer has his medal. From what we can tell in this exchange Schofield is not willing to talk about whatever it was he experienced at Somme and there may be a ring of truth when he says he doesnât remember much. Schofield as weâll come to see throughout the film has a tendency to separate and compartmentalize everything from his emotions to his family to his combat history. This is important to know about him now because this journey is going to break those compartment walls down until their contents begin to bleed into one another.
We next meet Andrew Scottâs brilliant take on Lt. Leslie, a brash, dry military leader on the front lines who has clearly seen too much. His character serves as a cold and pessimistic voicing of the dangers that face our protagonists and through Leslie we begin to see the toll of what this war has done to these men. Itâs honestly one of my favorite scenes and Scott is probably my favorite supporting cast member followed closely by Richard Madden as Joseph Blake. And with Leslieâs harsh âyouâre probably going to dieâ attitude sending them off, Schofield and Blake enter No Manâs land. Â
One of the truly astounding accomplishments of 1917 is how they pull the viewer into this journey with Blake and Schofield. The âone-takeâ shot and close-ups to the characters and what they are seeing make you feel as if you are traveling with them, and the set and prop designers donât hold back. We are treated to a version of No Manâs land in which you can actually imagine how horrible the stench must have been. From carcasses of both horses and men rotting in the mud to flies and rats feasting on the remains to puddles littered with debris and the dead. The land is scarred with craters and mazes of twisted barbed wire, and not a single living thing can be seen aside from our two soldiers. Not to mention that the fumes of the mustard gas commonly used during this war must be clinging to everything. A stark contrast to the start of the film. Thomas Newman masterfully scores the scene with a haunting, almost dreadful, melody that builds in intensity until youâre certain some danger awaits Blake and Schofield. But theyâve made it to the German front lines and not a single enemy remains behind, and thus we enter the German dugout where, as we know, Schofield and Blake will come to realize the Germans did not leave without setting a few traps for whoever might follow.
Itâs here in the dugout where we begin to see how close these two really are, at least for Blake. After the rat sets off the tripwire an explosion rings out causing a partial collapse of the dugout on Schofield. Fortunately, Blake was only blown back and quickly recovered in order to follow Schofieldâs muffled screaming and begin digging him out. Chapman portrayed Blakeâs desperation remarkably well. In an interview when asked how it was to take direction from Mendes, Chapman mentioned this scene and how Mendes had taken him aside and said to him, âDead. Youâre best friend could be deadâ. Therefore, Chapman played the scene accordingly with Blake frantically digging and calling for his friend, sobbing out his name when he finds him seemingly lifeless, and desperately yanking Schofield to consciousness and to his feet.Â
The scene is an intense, edge-of-your-seat, hold-your-breath ride for survival as the two race for an exit with Blake leading a blind Schofield to safety. Not once does Blake think of leaving his comrade behind, and considering his desperation to save his brother youâd think the thought would have crossed his mind, but it doesnât seem to in the least. Either they both make it out or they both die. Schofieldâs reaction to his near-death experience is also important for now and for later. This is Schofieldâs first, and certainly not the last, brush with death on this particular mission and it is the one that would have definitely killed him off if not for Blake. However, his initial knee-jerk reaction is one of desperate irritation. He tells Blake off for choosing him for this mission, despite knowing full well Blake had no idea what they were getting into. He then pulls out a thin, tin can and briefly peers at the contents before slipping it back into his pocket. As we know by the end of the film, inside that tin can are photos of his wife and daughters. After rinsing his eyes clear of the blinding dust the first thing that Schofield chooses to look at is his family. And here is the first sign of the impact this mission will have on those compartments that Schofield keeps separated. His near-death experience breaks through that first wall enough to get him to take another glance at what he almost lost.
I want to point out that despite his initial annoyance at Blake itâs made evident that Schofield is in fact very grateful to his comrade. I find it interesting and refreshing that he doesnât apologize for his outburst or indicate that he knows Blake never meant to drag him along on a dangerous mission. Instead, he does something even better that points to how well he knows Blake, how much he cares for him, and something that will ensure Blake knows how grateful he truly is. Iâm talking of course about the âbit of blood tinâ scene. Schofield assures Blake that he will get a medal for his actions in the dugout and for saving his life. This implies that Schofield not only believes Blake has earned the honor but that he himself will make sure others hear of it if he surviveâs the mission. The conversation also gives us a deeper insight into Schofield. He knows the medal would mean a great deal to Blake which is why he mentions it, but simultaneously his attitude suggests that he himself doesnât care for such honors. When pressed by Blake we learn that he even traded his own for a bottle of wine. We never learn what it is Schofield did to earn the medal but itâs clear that whatever it is it carries painful memories in which he feels no honor in. We also learn why he told Blake earlier âitâs betterâ not to return home on leave. Schofield states he âhatedâ going home because the pain of knowing he would have to leave and his family may never see him again nor he them was too great. For someone who so desperately tries to compartmentalize his family from the war returning home only to be sent back would make that struggle all the more difficult, which is why he can only briefly look at his familyâs photos.
Unfortunately, we soon reach what is the most pivotal scene in the film and in Schofieldâs journey. Blakeâs death. I believe that this scene while not the climax of the movie is the true beginning of Schofieldâs âchange of heartâ. Earlier I mentioned how Mendes had once called Blake the âheart of the filmâ, and in another interview co-writer Kristy Wilson-Cairns broke down the ending scene of the film and stated that during his mission Schofield âtakes on Blakeâ and that âBlake becomes a part of himâ by the ending because of the promise he makes as Blake dies. So Schofieldâs change of heart is that his heart becomes a bit more like Blake. Itâs not a story of supernatural possession, nothing as silly as that, but rather a story of friendship and humanity that changes how Schofield perceives the war, himself, and the value of human life. Remember that leading up to Blakeâs death Schofield was ready to kill the German pilot, saying âwe should put him out of his miseryâ. But Blake held to compassion and refused to kill him which tragically resulted in his death. As Schofield carries on with the mission he is left with the hopes of his dead friend who died because of his goodness, and as he continues on we also see an increasing unwillingness to kill his enemies. Also important to note is that Schofield knows full well that Blake saved his life yet as Blake died there was nothing he could do making the promise to finish the mission and save Blakeâs brother all the more vital.
Shortly after Blakeâs death we meet Captain Smith played by Mark Strong. Like every character we meet along the way Smith plays a vital role in Schofieldâs journey. Through Smith we learn that delivering the message may not be as simple as handing over the envelope. Schofield will have to fight to make sure itâs actually read. We also learn how quickly these young men were expected to adapt and move on when faced with death and loss. Strong played the role very well as he gave Smith a commanding sense of kindliness, wisdom and understanding. You get the sense that here is a Captain that understands the strength of brotherhood in wartime and has seen that look of a soldier whoâs lost his brother. And so for the first time we see a commander who is gentle in his manner to Schofield but firm enough to get him back on his feet and moving. He then suggests to Schofield that itâs âbetter not to dwell on itâ and though Schofield acknowledges him itâs obvious that as he bumps down the road in the back of a wagon packed with young soldiers telling jokes and oblivious to what heâs just gone through, Schofield can think of nothing but Blake.Â
MacKay acts his heart out in this scene and he doesnât say a word or do anything, but the veiled pain is there, the furrowed brow is there, the look of a young man haunted by grief is there, the way he looks back out over the grounds where his fallen brother lies is there. His silence and disinterest in the soldiers and their jokes shows that Schofield is undergoing a quiet, grieving process of which will have changed him by time he climbs out of that wagon. When the wagon got stuck in the mud and Schofield begged for the others to help we begin to see a little of Blake in him. At the start of the mission Blake was desperate, emotional and unwilling to wait around to plan things out rationally. Now we see Schofield desperate, emotional, and unwilling to wait around to get the wagon out an easier way.
The next scene was similar in nature to that of the tripwire scene with the nerve-wracking intensity of a life-or-death situation except now Schofield is solely on his own. He manages to maintain a level-head and provide cover fire for himself, true Schofield-style and proves to be an excellent shot. However, he manages to get himself knocked out so that by time he awakes he is low on time and is now faced with enemies on all sides. The scene of the night window is one of the most beautiful works of cinematography I have ever seen. I get chills every time. With Newmanâs astounding score and MacKayâs sense of wonderment the scene feels otherworldly, and before long Schofield is running for his life through the ruins of the city and coming across a burning church making you feel as if he has awoken in the pits of hell. But the ever rational Schofield quickly seeks shelter in a basement of what appears, at first glance, to be an abandoned building. Soon Schofield finds that in fact the basement is occupied by a young, frightened French woman and a baby girl. This is one of the few moments in the film in which Schofield gets an opportunity to catch his breath and take a break of sorts from the war. The woman tenderly cleans his head wound and Schofield gives literally every last bit of food and milk he has to the woman and the baby. Despite yet not knowing what waits for Schofield back home, or rather who waits for him, the viewer gets the sense that Schofield is no stranger to children and babies. He quietly recites a bit of poetry to the baby girl from Edward Learâs âThe Jumbliesâ and we even see a small smile from Schofield as he interacts with the child.Â
However, Schofield hears the tolling of the church bell and realizes heâs out of time and quickly makes his departure back to the war above, despite the womanâs pleas. The scene with the woman and child were important for Schofieldâs journey because of the significance they held to him, particularly the baby. The likelihood that the pair will survive the war is not high and even if they do that baby is most likely never going to know who her parents were. Schofield purposefully chooses to separate his children from the war in his mind but now he has been forced to see the face of a child whoâs entire life and existence has been uprooted and changed by the war. After making a desperate flee through the city and into the depths of the river Schofield crawls onto the shore of Croisilles Wood having to climb across the dead to do so. Literally stripped down, with just the uniform on his back, the exhausted, wounded and fearful soldier is overwhelmed by his grief and he sobs, as the script says, âfor the river, for life, for Blake, for the babyâ. By this point Schofield has nearly died multiple times, lost his brother-in-arms, been forced to abandon a young woman and baby, and fears he may be too late to fulfill his promise to Blake meaning that 1,600 men could already be dead. Very understandably, itâs just a little too much for even Schofield.
We then get treated to one of the most beautiful and haunting scenes of the film. The Wayfaring Stranger scene, in which a soldier sings a beautiful hymn, and the camera circles around the faces of young men who are just barely out of boyhood, shows us the nature of what Schofieldâs mission is meant for. These are the men he needs to save. Poor Schofield is on the verge of giving up, but when heâs told that heâs where he needs to be he manages to climb back to his feet and keep moving. This chokes me up every time on a personal level, because while I could never know what it is to keep moving forward in a war zone, I know how it feels to be physically exhausted to the point of wanting to collapse in my time as a firefighter. But you have to put yourself aside, you have to forget whatever pain your mind tells you you have, and you focus on the mission at hand and you never stop moving and you never give up. That requires a mental strength that comes through months of training and which Schofield demonstrates in that moment. His race through the 1,600 men and his pleas for the commanders not to send their men over gives the filmâs climax the perfect build-up. I was very glad to have not seen the trailer beforehand, so I was not waiting for âthat running sceneâ. When he stopped and looked up at the edge of the trench I remember thinking, âoh my god heâs not about to do what I knowâs about he to do!â and sure enough Schofield climbed once again into No Manâs land, this time knowing without any doubt that Germans were on the other side with all their weapons trained at him. This version of No Manâs land is a fantastic parallel to the No Manâs land he crossed earlier with Blake. The green grassy field remains untouched by the war thus far and the soldiers on the field are living, breathing men rather than rotting carcasses. So Schofield runs parallel to the trench as the men run straight to the enemies line unaware that this lone man is risking everything in order to save them from the fate he and Blake witnessed when they first set out on this mission.
True to Smithâs warning Schofield had to fight for the Army command to be read. Benedict Cumberbatch portrayed Colonel Mackenzie, a harsh, no-nonsense military strategist who is utterly tired of the game and ready to end the war. Fortunately, Schofield says just the right thing to catch Mackenzieâs attention and effectively stop the battle. He couldnât save everyone but he prevented what would have been an outright massacre. And so that leads us to the last leg of his mission, the one he didnât set out for when he and Blake left Erinmoreâs dugout but which fell to him nonetheless. Striding through the casualty tents Schofield unfortunately has to bear witness to those who could not be saved despite his best efforts and he finds himself near Lt. Blake, whom he recognizes by voice alone. Madden offered one of my favorite performances as the brother Lance Corporal Blake was so desperate to save. His joy at the prospect of seeing his little brother turned to shattered disbelief and sorrow at realizing he has lost his brother. The scene is quiet and still and powerful in that stillness, and yet somehow thereâs a sense of hope as Schofield tells him that Blake saved his life. A sense that Blakeâs kindness and bravery lives on in his brother and in Schofield. So when Mendes said that Blake was the âheart of the filmâ heâs essentially saying that the heart of 1917 are the countless lives lost during that Great War, because the character of Blake serves as representation of every young soldier who never made it home, who never got the chance to live out their lives or build a family or see their loved ones again. But Mendes wanted this film to act as a tribute to those stories, and though Schofield was not designed to portray Alfred Mendes (the directorâs grandfather who in fact served as a messenger during WW1) he does represent those soldiers who survived and were able to tell the stories of those who did not.
Now whether or not Schofield will survive till the end of the war is unclear and not really the point of the story (I personally like to think he did despite the probable infection heâs likely to have in that hand of his). However, his completion of his mission and his passing of Blakeâs mementos to his brother and his promise to write their mother about Blakeâs heroics shows that he intends to make sure that Blakeâs honor lives on. Then, we see Schofield do what he could not do before the start of this mission. He pulls out the photos of his family and gazes into their faces, reading the message written by his wife, âCome back to usâ. He leans his head back against the lone tree and closes his eyes for what Iâm sure is a much needed nap. To his right spreads a peaceful, open field just like the movieâs introduction except this time Blake is only with him in memory and in heart.
Bless you if youâve read all of this and thank you! Once again I cannot express how much I love this film. It appeals to everything I love the most from art to history to humanity and the complexities of the human mind to feats of heroism to struggles of man. Itâs beautiful, itâs devastating, itâs unforgettable. If you are fan of the movie as well please let me know what you loved most! Also feel free to comment on the analysis or add your insights!

'âAll of Us Strangersâ opens in German cinemas today: A look at the best films and series with Andrew Scott.
He played Professor Moriarty in "Sherlock" , the "sexy priest" in "Fleabag" and one of the two main roles in the latest cinema highlight "All of Us Strangers" alongside Paul Mescal. Today Andrew Haigh's surreal love film finally celebrates its German cinema release: In keeping with the occasion, we are introducing you to the best films and series with Andrew Scott.
Who is Andrew Scott?
Andrew Scott is an Irish actor, known for his iconic roles as Moriarty in "Sherlock", Priest in "Fleabag" and his acting roles in numerous series and films in British indie and international cinema, TV broadcasts and theater productions became. The most famous titles in which he starred: "Saving Private Ryan", "Band of Brothers", "James Bond 007: Specter" and the successful series "Black Mirror". And even though the actor has long enjoyed international fame, he still remains passionately loyal to British cinema and theater. Recurring characters: priests, villains and emotional roles, as in his latest film "All of Us Strangers", for which he took on one of the two main roles alongside shooting star Paul Mescal.
"All of Us Strangers" (2023)
The film "All of Us Strangers" was made by British director Andrew Haigh, whose oeuvre also includes titles such as "Weekend" and "Lean on Pete". In his latest work he tells a surreal love story of two men, Harry and Adam, who mysteriously meet in an abandoned high-rise building in London. One day, screenwriter Adam (Andrew Scott) 's daily routine is interrupted when his neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal) shows up at the door and they get closer to each other. Shortly afterwards, Adam is catapulted back 30 years in a kind of time travel and finds himself in his childhood home. There he meets his parents, who died many years ago but are exactly as he remembers them.
"Catherine Called Birdy" (2022)
"Catherine Called Birdy" tells the story of the young Lady Catherine (Bella Ramsey), who grows up in medieval England and is about to be married. But quite atypical for her noble status, Birdy, as she prefers to be called, turns out to be lively, adventurous and resists the demands of her father (Andrew Scott), who repeatedly wants to marry her to strange men against her will To lead the family out of financial worries. Catherine proves her cleverness and repeatedly wiggles her way out of the forced marriage and scares away the suitors. Instead of giving in to her fate at the altar, Catherine always fights for her right to self-determination and asserts herself against her father's wishes at a time when women had little control over their own lives. She remains courageous, grows up and knows more and more about the importance of friendship and family until she and her father ultimately come to an agreement. Lena Dunham's film was released on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video in 2022 and is currently available there.
"1917" (2019)
Sam Mendes' historical drama "1917" was released in German cinemas in 2019 and tells the story of two young British soldiers (George McKay and Dean-Charles Chapman) in the First World War. In order to save 1,600 men, the two are tasked with carrying out a seemingly impossible mission and preventing the occupation's planned attack (which includes Blake's brother). In addition to the captivating plot, "1917" was equally convincing thanks to the special staging and shooting style in just one shot and one cut. The film not only succeeds in delivering great cinema from a technical point of view, but also with the narrative, which indulges in profound human stories and relationships and combines them with a captivatingly real depiction of cruelty and heroism during the First World War. You can currently rent the historical drama for a fee on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+.
"Denial" (2016)
The drama âDenialâ (now streaming on Amazon Prime Video) is based on a true trial that took place between Deborah E. Lipstadt (Rachel Weisz) and David Irving (Timothy Stall). The film depicts Lipstadt's legal battle after Irving sued her for defamation for calling him a Holocaust denier in one of her books. In England, the burden of proof is on the defendant, so Lipstadt must prove that her claims about Irving's misrepresentations of the Holocaust are true. With the help of her legal team, Lipstadt takes on the task of defending historical truths while still maintaining moral boundaries. âDenialâ depicts an intense struggle for justice and historical integrity and highlights the importance of remembering and the dangers of historical revisionism.
"Handsome Devil" (2017)
The Irish coming-of-age story "Handsome Devil" tells the story of Ned (Fionn O'Shea) - an outsider and student at a boys' rugby school. When Ned has to share his room with the new rugby star Conor (Nicholas Galitzine), he initially expects difficulties - at first glance, the two have completely different interests, views and personalities. Over time, the two develop a close friendship, finding a way to overcome their prejudices through music. "Handsome Devil" not only addresses important questions in the search for identity, but also with regard to self-acceptance and the difficulties that arise with expectations of conformity in the school environment. The message: Be brave, dare and, above all, be yourself! Now streaming on Amazon Prime Video .
"King Lear" (2018)
In the 2018 modern adaptation of Shakespeare's drama "King Lear," Anthony Hopkins took on the lead role as the king, playing a tyrannical ruler of a military regime amid the history of a fictional England. Due to his age, he decides to divide his inheritance among his three daughters, which not only leads to a bitter power struggle, disowning his youngest daughter Cordelia (Florence Pugh). As Goneril (Emma Thompson) and Regan (Emily Watson) continue to vie for their father's favor and are even prepared to betray him, a tragedy of madness, intrigue and the disintegration of the entire family unfolds on the screen. Despite the modern production, the film invokes the core themes of the original: abuse of power, loss and the destructive power of vanity. Andrew Scott took on one of the supporting roles as Edgar alongside well-known actors such as Emma Thompson, Anthony Hopkins, Jim Broadbent, Florence Pugh and Jim Carter.
"The Wonderful Garden of Bella Brown" (2016)
"The Wonderful Garden of Bella Brown" is a 2016 British film that tells the story of a librarian, Bella Brown (Jessica Brown-Findlay), who wants to fulfill her biggest dream and write a children's book. But her life takes an unexpected turn when she is faced with a choice: either take care of her neglected garden or lose her home. Her neighbor Alfie (Tom Wilkinson) helps her overcome her great fear of flora and fauna and maintain the garden. And so she meets the eccentric Billy (Jeremy Irvine) and the cook Vernon (Andrew Scott), who not only help her to tend to the garden, but also to find herself.
"Pride" (2014)
The British film "Pride" is based on a true story and tells of an unusual alliance between LGBTQ activists and miners during the British mine strike between 1984 and 1985. The group "Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners" is raising funds for one Welsh mining community, whose members initially proved extremely skeptical. Despite the prejudices, the groups develop a solidarity and friendly relationship with one another. The film not only highlights how barriers can be overcome through shared concerns, but also deals with the meaning and importance of empathy and helpfulness in a humorous and loving way. Andrew Scott can be seen as Gethin alongside several âHarry Potterâ actors such as Bill Nighy (Minister for Magic), Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) and Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge).
"Ripley" (2024)
His latest project: the series "Ripley", which will appear on the streaming platform Netflix this year and will run for eight episodes. "Andrew Scott ( Fleabag ) plays Tom Ripley, a lovable and amoral con artist and murderer who repeatedly evades justice," says the streaming service's press page . Dakota Fanning and Johnny Flynn will star alongside Scott in Patricia Highsmith's best-selling adaptation of The Talented Mr. Ripley.
"The Pursuit of Love" (2021)
The British miniseries "The Pursuit of Love" is based on the novel of the same name by Nancy Mitford and was adapted by Emily Mortimer. Set in Europe in the midst of two world wars, it tells the story of a friendship between two cousins, Linda Radlett (Lily James) and Fanny Logan (Emily Beecham). Their views on life and love could hardly be different: While Fanny is looking for a stable relationship, Linda longs for a romantic adventure. The series not only explores topics such as female independence, but also the social and political changes of the political era at the time and seeks answers to questions about personal fulfillment. Andrew Scott took on a supporting role, playing Lord Merlin.
"Fleabag" Season 2 (2019)
The script for the British dramedy "Fleabag" was written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge , who also served as the series' protagonist. "Fleabag" is about a young woman living in London, living an absolutely chaotic life and struggling with loss - that of her mother and that of her best friend. She owns a guinea pig cafe and scrapes by in life while addressing audiences with clever humor, charm, naked truth, and the occasional fourth-wall breaking (directly). The series not only goes through the development of her character, but also deals with topics such as grief, loneliness, family, sex, grief and love. Andrew Scott took on the role of the priest with whom Fleabag falls in love in season two, and stole his way into the hearts of series fans with his line "It'll pass." Last but not least, âFleabagâ received consistently positive reviews thanks to its sharp, clever and fantastic dramaturgy and acting. You can watch both seasons on Amazon Prime Video.
"Sherlock" (2010-2017)
One thing is certain: the villain roles run straight through Andrew Scott's filmography. His role as Sherlock's (Benedict Cumberbatch) antagonist Moriarty not only brought him international attention, but also another opportunity to shine as a villain. In 2012 and 2013 his acting performance was awarded the BAFTA and the IFTA for âBest Supporting Actorâ.'

George Mackay idea where reader is also an actor? Maybe theyâre doing a promo tour together, or both at an awards show. Just ideas. I love what youâve written already!
Here you go anon! I hope you like it!
Itâs Golden Globes time and your movie is up for best film (drama) alongside 1917. Because of this, your table is next to the 1917 table and youâve had to stare at George Mackay for the entire evening. Little did you know, he had also been mesmerized by you.
The entire promo season for your film had involved you and your castmates being asked questions about your ârivalâ film 1917. Now that it was finally time for the Golden Globes and you werenât prepared in any way to actually meet the filmâs stars.Â
You definitely werenât prepared to see them in suits.
You had been chatting with Florence Pugh, who you had starred alongside in Midsommar when George Mackay entered your line of sight with Dean-Charles Chapman in tow. You slowly began to drift out of the conversation, watching the two boys as they walked to the table right next to yours.
âY/N? Are you alright?â Florence waved her hand in front of your face. âWhat are youâŠâ She turned and followed your eyeline, smirking wickedly. âOh. Itâs George.â
âFlorence!â You hissed. âShut up!â
She let out a cackle. âOh come on! Youâve had a crush on him since forever! Nowâs your moment!âÂ
âYes, heâs absolutely going to want to talk to me after I stare at him for three hours. Great job, Florence.â You rolled your eyes.
âNo, go talk to him!â Florence took your drink and shoved you towards where he was sitting, chatting with Dean and his director Sam Mendes.Â
Instead of listening to Florence, you quickly took your seat and struck up a conversation with one of your castmates. Out of the corner of your eye, you continued to watch George.Â
You had been following his promo tour, which had been happening at the same time as yours, but you couldnât tear yourself away from the idea of him. Your twitter feed had been full of updates and photos about him and Dean and your tumblr (that no one knew about) was all about George and 1917. You found him captivating. It was as if he was a drug you just couldnât seem to give up.Â
He was definitely handsome, a fact you couldnât deny. He stood tall next to Dean, running a hand through his blond curls. You wished so desperately that just for a second his blue eyes would land on you, that he would smile because of something you had said.
Fear, however, made sure you stayed rooted to your seat with the people you felt comfortable with.
Florence kept texting you throughout the show, egging you on to talk to George or even Dean during the commercial breaks. You ignored her, rather focusing on either your food or your castmates.Â
âExcuse me? Youâre Y/N Y/L/N right?â
You slowly looked up. Dean-Charles Chapman was standing in front of you, a mischevious look in his eye. âYes⊠why?â
âWell, my friend George over there is a fan of yours and I was hoping, if it werenât too much trouble, if we could take a picture with you?âÂ
You furrowed your eyebrows at him. There was definitely some ulterior motive to this request and it was probably the reason that George had come over with him to ask. But you knew that you wouldnât be able to say no. You took Deanâs outstretched hand and allowed him to lead you over to the 1917 table where George was sitting, sipping a glass of something.Â
âOi, George. Stand up, straighten your tie.â Dean quipped, his smirk ever-growing as you got closer. George shot to his feet, almost dropping his drink as his hand flew to his tie. âThis is-â
âY/N Y/L/N.â You interrupted him, if not for your sake then for Georgeâs. âIâve seen 1917 maybe three times now and Iâve never been more stunned by a film. You did incredible.âÂ
You shook hands with the poor Brit, surprised that you hadnât fainted in his presence yet. His hands were rough, calloused, and yet warm and comforting. You had a sudden urge to lace your fingers with his.Â
âItâs a pleasure.â He smiled at you. âYou were amazing in your film, positively blew me away. Iâve followed your entire promo tour.â
oh.Â
You couldnât help the furious blush that enflamed your face. âI-Iâve done the same for you.â
Luckily, George began to blush. Hard. His blue eyes lit up, getting those happy smile lines around the corners. âReally?âÂ
âYeah, of course.â You couldnât help but smile back at him.Â
George turned back towards his table, grabbing a napkin and a pen. He quickly scribbled something down on the napkin and held it out to you. You took it, your heart racing.
It was his number.Â
âIf you arenât leaving so soon, would you like to get together?â George asked as the music began to play.Â
âIâd love to.â You beamed up at him. âGood luck tonight George.â Gripping the napkin in your fist, you took your seat.Â
As the award show carried on, you couldnât keep your eyes off of him. You also couldnât keep your heart from beating a little faster than usual. No award could compare to the happiness you were feeling in this moment.
I hope you liked it!Also hereâs the link to my masterlist! (finally)And Iâm sorry if people have been waiting for a tagslist or something, Iâve not been keeping up with it. Please comment on any of my fics if you would like to be put in a tagslist of sorts and Iâll do my very best to make one. Much love!

Letâs Talk About George MacKay
First time checking on â1917â several times, I care much that itâs about world war I and they sell the one-shot technique filming. Both worked. Until I watched it and amazed by the entire movie and George MacKay to be specific. I am aware thereâs a movement, a little higher than usual to stan George MacKay after 1917. I found myself giggling at it. And here I am gonna explain howâs George MacKay movies...
1917
Go see this movie while you can. I feel like war movie is not preferable these days. My friends would rather watch Joker and Parasite. Anything about character study and social class, something least likely to be considered during a war.
1917 is great and amazing because I agree that quite rare to have world war I movie these day. All I see is world war II, much only about Holocaust and the development of many stories about it. Thereâs many happened in a year, so let alone world war II. And itâs always harder to dig past due to lack of proof and witness to develop the story. This 1917 inspired by Sam Mendes grandfather, thatâs why we all get one more story about world war I. This story matter because of all those reasons and Sam Mendes aware of that.
In a bubble full of present and future time settings movie, past is also worth to be produced. Movies are something you think you donât need now, but later for sure. Thereâs time for that.
One sitting and already realized the flaws of this movies. The production of this movie is much harder than Joker and Parasite. There are so many people/soldiers to be organized and managed, the rehearsal, the sun. Thatâs why itâs gotta be hard to get a super neat one. Itâs a war and nobody should expect a neat war. In Parasite, youâll get the super clean and neat picture even in the dirtiest set. Joker also has more colors. And then thereâs 1917, mud and grass and dust everywhere! No safe zone.
As George have mentioned in an interview with 6 month rehearsal and still do it during production, the one-shot which Sam Mendes corrected as more of âno cutâ technique, three minutes of a successful shot means a lot for 2 hour movie. Every successful take is meaningful.
Why âno cutâ? Because itâs a race against time. The continuous shot help the audience to feel the tension as Will (George MacKay) is getting closer to his goal to deliver the message or many soldiers with no other choice die in vain again and again. I wish they have WhatsApp.
I thought George is not the main character even if his face is on the cover of this movie because Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) was the one leading Will. Blake is the reason Will in this mission. When the rat helped to blow up the German post and Will buried under the rubble, I thought and everyone think the same that heâs dead. I said to myself, he didnât die because heâs the main character while freaking out and worrying if Will canât survive. And how surprising when Blake died.
I see how much Will is doubtful and unsure of this mission from the start and love his transformation when he knew he gonna finished the mission after Blakeâs death. I felt that. Except I wish I donât need to see death first to meet strong will to finish a mission successfully.
The context of this movie is war, just like any other war movies. When you heard a movie is about war, I think I know whatâs in your mind that it is boring and have nothing to do with present and itâs not even pleasant to look. For me this movie is about loyalty, homesickness, and whatever the obstacles you must finish the mission.
Was George gorgeous in this movie? Judging from how much people look up him now, indeed. Heâs gorgeous in many way for this movie.
How I Live Now
First time I saw George MacKay and the reason I bumped to this movie is Saoirse Ronan. Thereâs not much recommended movie from George at that time so I never watch one. His character intimidate me. That scene he helped Saoirse from dogs, when he stare at Saoirse at first breakfast, when he survived and refuse to talk until the end of the movie. I have no idea why he wonât talk.
This movie is confusing as this is about world war III or a global panic on something, the first time I watch it. So, world war III is started from Europe again? That has been my question. But with the trending topic on twitter this January 2020 about world war III possibility, I get it. I didnât take it personally. Why would I? I have my own analysis about these thing I canât share here.
Oh, and Tom Holland is in this movie too.
True History of The Kelly Gang
I didnât know this gang exist. This movie portrayed how chaotic the gang is. I feel like the reason Ned Kelly is a thing because everyone havenât made up if heâs a hero, a villain, or a victim. Itâs gonna be a long debate for me. Considering heâs a citizen, heâs a villain for the police.
The Kelly Gang wear a dress for the operation and itâs cute tho. They are basically European whose ancestors ditched from Europe land to this foreign land later called Australia where the Aboriginal already occupy the land. Then this place become where they breed their next generation and so on. The way I narrate this, make me sound like a jerk. This movie is like the first time I get Ned Kelly portrayal. I believe thereâs more to know about him.
Letâs talk about George work here. Heâs amazing! Heâs none like his character in 1917 at all despite the production interval of these two wasnât that much I guess. Heâs like chameleon here, he served different attitude in all of his movies. Aggressive, chaotic, and reckless he showed to portray Ned Kelly in this movie. Nobody attracted to George if he did character like Ned Kelly all the time the way people attracted to him in 1917.
True History of The Kelly Gang probably has different portrayal of Ned Kelly compared to the predecessor movies, because it is. And if you shortened the title, it become THOT_KG. Y'all know what thot is.
Ophelia
When Ophelia and Hamlet married I was like, itâs beautiful and reckless. Too much âWTFâ with extra exclamation sign. I donât understand why people decide to marry so quick after knowing each other for a while. Why so rush? The story based on Shakespeare, this one is a serious adaptation, theyâre not gonna change the ending. But, I never read Ophelia story so I am surprised with the sad ending and itâs not different to Romeo and Juliette. I expect different ending actually. But not today.
Howâs George acting? Awesome as usual. He acts like fuckboy and immature on his decision. Again, his character here is different from his other movies. I didnât expect that he suit this kind of movies too, with such character.
A Guide to Second Date Sex
This movie is like porn movie because of the duration and the way this movie shoot. Thereâs a bit or some reality here. Awkwardness and struggles of both side. This is a very European culture for sure. I donât want to explain much because it is what it is. George MacKay probably have quite humility since he took this part. I want to ask âwhyâ in 50 languages.
Considering this movie, 1917, and True History of The The Kelly Gang are produced between late 2018 to 2019, each character jumped far to another character.
He turns out to be great in comedy movie with his awkwardness as his instruments. But I am not sure.
Where Hands Touch
About world war II, specifically about a German girl whoâs born from German mom and Nigerian dad but sheâs growing up physically looked more like her father which itâs common because if you learn Biology and know the possibility (things like intermediate, dominant, recessive genes...), during Nazi occupation in which they believe that no other than aryan must live in the land of German and they must be vanished in Nazi way.
George portrayed Lutz, a Nazi sympathizer, and Leyna portrayed by Amandla Stenberg, the girl. I donât like this story actually. I know everyone deserve to love one another. But how could they still have time for love during a war? During the period where everyone against you.
Iâd say their make love scene doesnât make sense at all, the same as in How I Live Now. How could they do that under pressure? Knowing the place where they did that is not safe at all. I am wondering. Seriously. Many movies have this scene in weird timing I canât understand. And, Leyna is pregnant.
When Lutz was shot by his father knowing heâd rather see his son dead than build a family with Leyna , I didnât cry, only shocked. But then I see Leyna reunited with her mum and little brother, I cried.
I donât want to watch this movie again. Too painful in many ways and in many dimensions.
George portrayal of Lutz is again unbearably amazing. He suit that character physically. Iâve seen several movies that portray Germany people and Nazi sympathizer to be specific. They mostly look like George, blonde hair almost white. Movies enhance the stereotypes to be honest.
The Pacifier (2005), when Seth Plummer (the 2nd child) dyed his hair to blonde and have a nazi sign in his room, couldnât it be more obvious why Lieutenant Shane followed him to find out whatâs happening. Turns out Seth is playing a role for a stage performance as Nazi symphatizer.
Theater usually enhance the stereotypes.
Pride
I imagine this movie is like Milk (2008), I didnât finish both because this kind of movie is the same as what I read. Iâd rather read their story. Historical movies have dramas and aesthetic importance to make it even more attractive to the viewers. I am not saying that articles and the many form of it didnât. Itâs easier to edit anyway. But, thereâs a lot more going on in making movies than write a story. So does with 1917. Nobody knows the truth or if they miss something.
I have no idea how George can fit in this character. But, it worked. I watch and read several review of this movie saying Georgeâs acting is great here. No doubt.
Peter Pan
This is actually the first time I saw George in movies, but only realized it few weeks ago. I have watched this movie anytime, over and over since I was a kid. I probably have look up him since How I Live Now almost 4 years ago and already know he's in Peter Pan. It's just different to know it again this time. My friends also surprised he's in it too.
Letâs talk the whole thing about George at once...
Heâs a chameleon. I know another chameleon without method acting, but it feels so great to find another one. I have no idea how he switch from one character to another since he has different kind of character in his movies. And he master all of them. Even if the movie is not succeed, at least his acting is amazing. The same as Eddie Redmayne. Well, Eddie did a major transformation for Theory of Everything physically. But George? His body is the same in each movie, the way he portray his character seems effortless that he doesnât need to change his body. I need that power. But his body is getting even more muscular in each movies. Idk what happens.
Heâs like the unproblematic person. Even if everything against him, I know heâs gonna survive. Heâs got that charm. When heâs being criticized about his role in Where Hands Touch because seems like humanizing nazi, that term only matter for the people in movie industry, it will not influence the society. This movie is not screened globally, shouldnât expect much. But I like his response.
The point is that nazi is also human, just like any other human. Once they take off the uniform, they are the same as the rest. Those who are not nazi sympathizer also can commit a crime, in many ways and in many levels. You read news and watch movies about nazi only in one side, the side that makes them look like the most evil people to ever exist. Because itâs not. The evilest person can be anyone.
And George aware that because heâs white (I speak this as what he identify himself in interview), he has the privilege in his workplace even if heâs not the main character in the movie. I have nothing to say about it, just to point it out.
I think he is someone who research thoroughly, read everything and as much as possible when he's given the opportunity. I mean for How I Live Now, he read the book while Saoirse admitted she didn't and would rather focus on the script. He wore his grandpa's watch to make him feel better during 1917 many interview. I believe his grandpa lived the same era as Sam Mendes grandpa. He also someone who's willing to reread, REREAD, it's something amazing to me personally as I know myself too much I never really check my work twice, even if I do once, I am not that detailed person. That's why I found George is amazing to have that traits.
Watching all these movies, I still hardly figure out his personality. Since he also doesnât have social media. But heâs quite an embodiment of a Pisces.
In several interview he explained that thereâs too much pressure in 1917 because the movie is so require fit body and he worried if he didnât serve the best. He mentioned this several times in interview where Sam Mendes isnât there. I get that. In the next interview he said that as long as he did the job wholeheartedly, everything will be okay.
Heâs considerate, has great awareness of his surroundings and see the eyes of people when he talk to them. I mean, how could he stay looking at someoneâs eye that long? Itâs hard.
He sings, he performed on stage several times for theater and poem.
He also have appeared in all war movies era. World war 1, 2, and even 3 !!! Obviously thereâs that one during Cold War era though his movie is obviously more about Margaret Thatcher era called Pride. WHAT A COMPLETE PACKAGE GEORGE ISÂ
Dean Chapman, his co-star in 1917 said that George is polite and well-mannered. George has a great self-control though.
Heâs also great at delivering a joke or two in between conversation and I am amazed by how appropriate the joke is. I feel like people of my generation is terrible at delivering appropriate jokes.
I am intrigued to what heâs gonna do after 1917.

1917
Itâs very rare that I come out of the cinema and feel like I have had a true experience. Thereâs only been a few times Iâve experienced this at the cinema. The Revenant, Interstellar, Dunkirk and Life of Pi are cinema experiences I remember vividly being in awe of. Do you know what I mean? Where youâre sitting there, totally fixed upon what youâre watching, youâve forgotten the troubles you might have had before buying the tickets. And I donât think this was just me. You know when you usually go the cinema and everyone is making noise, rustling about with their food and just being a general nuisance. Well this didnât happen in 1917. The cinema was in silence, I think we was all engrossed with what we was witnessing. 1917 is cinema escapism at itâs finest.
Its story is short. Two young men have to deliver a message calling off the planned attack, the Germans are leading the men into a trap. Due to the communication wires being cut, they have to deliver this by hand. Thatâs it, thatâs the story. Itâs thin, but it works. It works because of the cinematography of Roger Deakins (Blade Runner 2049, Sicario, Skyfall). The whole film is shot so it looks like one continuous take. Itâs a huge technical achievement and it just looks incredible. I love one shots anyway, so to see this throughout an entire film was amazing. Itâs the best bit of film-making for me, you let the camera roll and just watch everything work. The actors act, thereâs not cut after cut. And the significance of using this method in 1917 is that it makes you feel like youâre there with the young men.Â
During the action it was breath-taking, it was exciting and exhilarating. But it was in itâs quieter moments where I was most impressed. The camera is usually always on the move following the men, but when it stopped during the emotional parts of the films it was beautiful. I donât really know what I was expecting when I saw this film and in all honesty I think Iâm just a bit lost for words. Technically it was incredible, the acting was perfect; from the two leads George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman to the cameos from Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden and Benedict Cumberbatch.
5/5 Obviously 5/5. Some films can be watched on DVD. You could watch The Gentlemen or Little Women on DVD at home and still get the same experience if you watched it at the cinema. Watch 1917 at the cinema, cinema was made for films like this. Itâs incredible.Â

A crack of thunder shook you from a deep sleep. Well, as deep as sleep could have been with Dean home. He was always a kicker and a cuddler when he dreamed, a trait you had forgotten while he had been gone for his new movie. In all honesty, it didnât really bother you. It was just one of his many quirks. Your gaze lifted to peer at the clock on your nightstand as the rain seemed to hammer harder on the windows of your bedroom and thatâs when you felt an arm tighten around your waist as Dean dug his face into your hair. You bit back a small grin as you rolled over, him instinctively raising said arm so you could move. He kept his eyes closed as you settled in, inches from his face.Â
You sat for a second, looking at him as he fought the grin attempting to break his concentrated face. âFor an actor, you suck at pretending,â you teased, leaning forward to press your lips against his cheek, nose, and finally settle against his lips. He smiled into your kiss. As you rested back in your spot beside him, his eyes seemed to light up at his first sight of the morning. The light that was somehow still peering through the rain clouds cast into the room and you would have shut the curtains if it werenât for the way Deanâs eyes seemed to glow in the subtlety of it.Â
His hand moved from your lower back to rest in your hair, playing with your soft locks. âYou need to brush your teeth,â he joked, his accent thick and low, swimming with sleep still. He giggled as you thumped his chest with the back of your hand for breaking the moment.Â
âThatâs not something you say to someone!â You all but shrieked, wiggling out of laughing boyâs grasp and attempting to get to the bathroom. He could barely catch his breath as he pulled you back into bed and wrapped his arms around you so you were pressed tightly against him, unable to move. âStop youâre crushing me!â
âYou like it!â As the two of you settled down, Deanâs arms were still around you, watching the raindrops falling against the window beside you, his heartbeat keeping time with yours. âI had a weird dream about a bumblebee and a honey bee going on an adventure and I just realized it was the plot to 1917.âÂ
You laughed at his light-hearted comment. âAre you okay?âÂ
âNo, I didnât want to be the honey bee.â He hummed in response, sounding like a preschooler.
âHoney bees are cool,â you reasoned, a small smile playing at your lips. âJust donât think about it. Youâll forget about it in an hour anyway.âÂ
âRude.â You laughed at his remark.Â
His soft, warm breath on your neck could have put you to sleep as one of your hands knotted with his. He pressed a light kiss to the back of your shoulder before pressing his cheek against your skin. âCan we stay like this all day?â He sighed. He tugged on your hip, rolling you over to face him again. Your arms snaked under his to wrap around his torso. He moved his hand to settle on your neck, his thumb brushing against your jaw before pulling you close to him and sealing the space between you with a gentle kiss that deepened as he knotted his hands into your hair. Your fingers brushed along the soft fabric of his t-shirt before slipping to rest under the material against his back. He broke the kiss only to move to lean over you, tugging the covers around the two of you, making you laugh at his less than graceful mannerisms. He took a moment to admire your dumb smile as you looked up at him.Â
"I'm glad you're home," you whispered to him, moving your hands to rest on the back of his neck. His icy blue eyes softened as he searched your face for something. He leaned down to kiss his favorite corner of your mouth---the one that usually quirks up slightly when he tells a joke that really isn't funny---and then pressed a kiss against your cheek.Â
"I love youâŠ" he mumbled, brushing his lips against the skin behind your ear. His fingers grazed the length of your arm to move one of your hands, resting it beside your head and lacing his fingers with yours. He began to press open-mouthed kisses against your neck and collarbones and you could already picture the tiny bruises that were going to come out of his ventures. His slight whiskers from the few days he had neglected to shave tickled your skin as his chin brushed against your chest every so often. Your fingers played at the curls forming at the base of his neck. Softly sighing in pleasure, you felt almost like you were sinking further into the mattress as his lips met yours again, forcing as much passion as possible behind each movement. He sighed with every touch, basking in being against you once again after so long and having the ability to take his time. You were his today. No plans meant no sharing.Â
He let go of your hand, only to settle it against your hip, digging his fingers into your skin as he pressed himself against you, grinding into you enough to make you want more. You picked up your hips slightly, following his suit to create more friction. You could feel him getting harder despite the lazy actions the two of you were ensuing. Dean's hand slipped beneath your shirt to grasp at your breast, goosebumps rising as his thumb ran over the sensitive skin. Dean broke the kiss. "Are you ready?"Â
"Yeah, I don't want to run a marathon," you jeered.Â
Dean rolled his eyes with a small chuckle. "That's fine. I don't have enough energy to fuck you like a rockstar this morning, anyway."Â
"And they say romance is dead." You both reacted with a slight laugh at each other and Dean slipped his boxers off as you wiggled out of your underwear. One of Dean's hands found your upper thigh to hold onto as he pressed himself into you, letting out a slight moan as you adjusted to him. You brought him closer to you, connecting your lips in a rushed kiss as he began to move his hips against yours, drawing out a moan of your own. You werenât sure there was any more room between the two of you, but Dean somehow found a way to bring you closer to him as he tangled himself around you. Light from a strike of lightning flashed into the room, capturing the attention of the two of you. âAre you scared?â You teased, your voice coming out almost breathlessly and Dean smiled down at you.Â
âShut up, that scared you too,â he mumbled, digging his face into the crook of your neck and thrusting into you again to cut off whatever you could quip back at him. You let out a soft moan to mix with the sound of the rain, egging Dean on as he quickened his pace.Â
"Dean, go slowerâŠ" You almost whispered and he obliged, picking his head up to kiss you again, resting his forehead against yours momentarily. He began to take it softer with you, seemingly wanting to savor every inch of your body with every minute of the rainy morning.Â
He let out a small chuckle. âI donât think Iâm going to last much longer.â You pressed your lips against his and tugged at his bottom lip with your teeth, your fingers diving into his hair once more. His hands moved to grip at your hips again, pulling you up to him, an angle that was somehow driving you closer to the edge. You moaned as you swirled your hips against his, making him break the kiss. âI love it when you make that noise,â he leered.Â
You dug your fingers into his upper arms. âStop being gross.â He only smirked at this, quickening his pace, his lips parting slightly, probably getting off on your blissed-out expression. He kissed your shoulder and collarbone, reaching his climax.Â
His voice was still husky and tired. âI love you,â he spoke, pressing a kiss to your ear as he brought to your finish. A rush of ecstasy spread to your toes accompanied by some form of shock.Â
âI love you too,â you muttered, wrapping your arms around him again. He rested his head on your chest as he caught his breath.Â
You laid in comfortable silence, merely enjoying each otherâs company before he decided to fill the air. âShould we get a dog?âÂ
You all but kneed him. âwHat?âÂ
âWhat?â

The Mosley Review: 1917
For the longest time, there have have been countless films about World War II and stories about the valor of the heroes of that generation. They are all amazing and great stories, but there really hasn't been any films that tackle what is know as "The Lost Generation". There is an amazing documentary about World War I called "They Shall Not Grow Old" that Peter Jackson directed and restored actual footage from the time period. Aside from that film, there isn't really many films about that time period and now comes this magnificent and stirring look through the eyes of an amazing storyteller. The fact that the film is 98% done in one continuous take adds to the real tension, dread and emotional impact of the story. You are immersed in the journey of the characters and all of the turmoil they go through to deliver a message across enemy lines. I was truly engaged and amazed by how everything was fully fleshed out and didn't shy away from the horror's of the first World War.
This film features a rogue's gallery of fantastic actors and they're introduced through the eyes of our amazing leads. Dean-Charles Chapman was great as Lance Corporal Tom Blake and he was the driving force from the beginning of the film. George MacKay delivers a stellar performance as Lance Corporal William Schofield and through his eyes you see the desperation, strength, emotional and physical toll the war takes on the character. The two of them together make for one of the best on screen duos I've seen in a war film in a long time. You feel the bond between them and you feel the history. Colin Firth was excellent as the man that sends them on their mission, General Erinmore. Andrew Scott was funny and great as Lieutenant Leslie. If there's one voice that you'll hear and recognize before you see his face, it is the great Mark Strong as Captain Smith and he was cool. Benedict Cumberbatch delivers a commanding performance as Colonel Mackenzie and illustrates a dangerous kind of leader in war that doesn't want to obey orders at first. Richard Madden delivers a heartbreaking performance as the brother of Tom Blake, Lieutenant Joseph Blake. He's only in the film for a little over five minutes and he breaks your heart.
Long time Sam Mendes collaborator, Thomas Newman, delivers a stirring and emotional score that resonates subtly and strategically throughout the film. The cinematography by the legend Roger Deakins was truly outstanding in this film. There are plenty of films that have done the "shot in one continuous take" effect, but this one was truly breathtaking in the some of the most ingenious shots that are captured on camera. Saving Private Ryan is definitely one of the best World War II films ever made and now I can say that this film is the best World War I film ever made. Don't miss out on seeing this gripping and exhausting masterpiece.

Muse (Dean-Charles Chapman Smut)
Requested: Yes / No
Word count:Â 3,203
Authorâs Note:Â I donât mean to romanticize lockdown/quarantine, but Iâm bored and I had this idea. This has smut and profanity, you have been warned. Iâm really proud of this one :)
When the news had first surfaced that your country was going to be locked down in response to the new virus, you were skeptical. But now, weeks later, you and Dean were still cooped up together in your home.
To pass the time, you two often watched films together, lying in one anotherâs arms on the couch, legs entangled. The film was often forgotten quickly, though, as Deanâs hands frequently slipped beneath your shirt to run along your waist and back. This led to him tickling you, something he took immense pleasure in. Tickling led to you kissing him to get him to stop, which often led to some fun time in the bedroom.
Although those days were frequent and fun, Dean had found a different way to pass the time today. As you sat at the dining room table one morning, scrolling through the news on your phone and eating a bowl of cereal, he waltzed in, a proud smirk adorning his face.
âWhat did you do?â You inquire playfully, grinning. Wiggling his eyebrows at you, he took a seat next to you before responding. âI signed up for an online art class,â he said, boasting. Scoffing, you rolled your eyes. Dean was a terrible artist. His drawings consisted of stick figures and his paintings were easily outdone by a preschoolerâs finger-painting.
âHey!â He laughed, rolling his eyes at you, âThat wasnât very nice of you.â You shake your head before looking down at your phone again. Sighing, Dean stood up to make himself a bowl of cereal before sitting down next to you again.
âWell if you want to know, I already finished the first few weeksâ worth of the class,â Dean said proudly, a large smile on his face. Looking up to meet his eyes, you smile. âThatâs great, Dean! Iâd love to see what you made!â
Laughing nervously, he shifts his focus to his bowl, avoiding your eyes. âWhat, Dean?â You ask, picking up on his change of tone. His eyes flit from the cereal in his bowl to you before answering. âI didnât actually make anything,â he says, letting the words fall from his mouth slowly. âI scrolled through the notes and tips for them, though.â As he finishes his confession, he smiles guiltily.
Smirking, you begin to laugh at him. âWhy did you do that? Whatâs the point of taking the class if you skip the actual learning?â You ask him. Although your words are pointed, your tone is light, and Dean senses this. "The first couple of weeks were for the basics. And Iâm a well accomplished artist,â he begins, struggling to keep a straight face. You giggle softly, amused at your boyfriend. âBut this weekâs project is a portrait, and I wanted to draw you,â he finishes, going back to eating his cereal.
Feeling a blush creep up your neck and cheeks, you quickly stand up and begin to clear your space and take your bowl to the kitchen sink. Returning to the dining room, you see Dean has finished his own cereal and is beginning to clean up. His eyes meet yours as you enter the room. âWhat do you think, love? Itâs completely up to you. You donât have to if you donât want,â he said, personally hoping you would agree, but respectful of your wishes regardless of the answer.
âIâd love that,â you answer happily. You could tell your agreement would make Dean very happy, and itâs not as if him drawing you would be a harm to anything. You were both bored out of your minds, so why not give it a shot.
âGreat! Thank you, Y/N,â Dean replies, hurrying over to you to pull you into a hug. âItâll be the best drawing youâve ever seen,â he continues, eager to please his new muse. With his beautiful blue eyes open wide and his luscious dark curls mussed from sleep, you thought youâd do anything to please this man.
The two of you busy yourselves tidying up the kitchen, occasionally bumping into one another. Spirits were light and Dean seemed to be bouncing off the walls with anticipation for his upcoming project. His bubbly excitement rubbing off on you, your morning chores were quickly finished.
âOkay, Dean. Now what?â You question, watching him intently as he messes around on his phone, searching for the project description. Dean lets out a breathy laugh, his eyes raising to meet your own. âPatience, love. I have an idea but I donât know about it yet. It might be too amateur for a man of my talent,â he replies, grinning. You shake your head and smile lightly at his antics. The anticipation is getting to you now, though.
Deanâs focus moves from his phone to you, searching your face. His cheeks suddenly flush and he begins to look nervous. Your brows furrow in question, and Dean gives you a slight smile in reassurance. âSo about my idea,â he begins, voice trailing off. You nod at him, offering him your full attention. He clears his throat nervously before continuing, âI thought it might be at least a little bit interesting, in my own eyes, actually, I donât know too much about you, but, I thought it might be a fun thing to try and draw you nude?â As his rambling question tapers off, your cheeks burn with a sudden blush.
âI agree with you. I think it might be a bit interesting,â you reply lightly, your eyes never leaving Deanâs. A small smile breaks out on his face as he registers your words before his worries catch up to him. âBut Iâm a horrible artist, Y/N. I couldnât do your beauty justice.â You stand from your place on the couch and walk over to him before sitting down next to him.
Your hands move to cup his cheeks before you plant your lips softly between his brows. Moving back to face him, you stroke his cheek softly with your thumb. âDonât worry about that. All you can do is try your best, and Iâll be sure to treat it like the masterpiece it is,â you say. Deanâs eyes perk up at your words and his lips form his signature bright smile.
You stand up and lace your fingers with Deanâs before pulling him up and behind you to your shared bedroom. You kick open the door and enter, Dean trailing closely behind. He moves to sit on the bed, patting the space next to him. You move to sit, and his arms are soon wrapped tightly around you, pulling you into him. Dean places his head on your shoulder and just sits for a moment, enjoying having your body cocooned within his.
He pulls away after a few moments and smiles. âOkay. Could you please remove your clothes?â He questions, his eyebrows raised as he gazes steadily at you. Nodding, you stand to take off your shirt and pants, moving to unclasp your bra. âWait. Can I?â Dean asks shyly, a light pink dusting his cheeks once again. You smile down at him, giving him a nonvocal âyes.â Dean stands before his hands dart out to grasp your shoulders, turning you so that your back is facing him. His hands fumble a second with the clasp of your bra before he successfully unlatches it and drops his hands back to his sides as you gracefully pull the garment from your body.
Once your bra is discarded in a nearby pile with the rest of your clothes, Deanâs hands are on your waist. You feel him kiss your jaw as his fingers begin to toy with the hem of your panties.
âTake them off, Dean,â you whine, eager to begin this little adventure. Deanâs lips form a grin against your neck as he slips his index finger beneath your pantie hem. Rubbing the skin softly, he traces shapes onto your waist before beginning to slide the underwear off your hips slowly.
You feel the fabric slip down your legs before it reaches the ground. Quickly stepping out of them, you turn to face Dean. A proud smirk on his face, he motions with his head for you to get on the bed. Dean mutters to himself, searching the room before his eyes land on a notebook. Hurriedly grabbing said notebook, he throws it on the comforter beside you before leaving the room. Curiosity tugs at you, but you stay seated on the bed. A minute later, Dean returns with a desk chair in hand.
âWhat do you need me to do, o great artist?â you ask Dean playfully. He walks over to the bed before pushing you back to lie down. His bright blue eyes are squinted in concentration as he prods and pulls your body and limbs to his ideal position. Stepping back to admire his work, Deans sends you a wink before seating himself in the chair and pulling the notebook onto his lap.
âNow keep still and relax,â he says. Your eyes dart around the room, gazing at Dean for a while before focusing your attention on the window, then the dresser, then the nightstand. From your place on the pillows, itâs very comfortable, and you feel your eyes beginning to droop. Deanâs intense gaze on you is constant, and you feel the rush of adrenaline that you always get when the two of you have sex.
You can see from Deanâs face, scrunched up in concentration, that heâs trying his best. You smile to yourself before falling back into the pillows as Dean continues his drawing. The light scratches from his pencil against the paper is comforting and you give in to sleepâs calling.
A few minutes pass, and Deanâs finished. He walks over to you, sitting on the edge of the bed before nudging your shoulder. Startled, you quickly open your eyes before relaxing, seeing that it was Dean. He smiles, wiggling his eyebrows at you. âIâm done,â he states proudly, grabbing your hand and pulling you to sit up. You smile, happy for him. âCan I see it?â You ask, hopeful.
Dean laughs nervously, wringing his hands together in his lap. âItâs not exactly that good,â he responds quietly. âItâs okay, Dean. Donât worry about it.â He smiles gratefully at you, reaching up to thread his fingers through your hair. âDo you want me to sign and date it?â He asks. You nod, and he returns to the chair to sign and date his drawing.
âDo you know what else I want, Dean?â You question, an excited feeling bubbling in your stomach. Ever since he had proposed the idea of drawing you nude, you had been worked up. But now that Dean was done, it was time he did something about it.
Looking up at you as he finishes, Dean shrugs. âWhat?â
âI want you to fuck me.â His eyes widen at your words, and he wastes no time in returning to his place next to you on the bed. Eyes bright, he smirks. âI can do that, love.â
Your lips are on his in a second, kissing him passionately. Your hands wander to his shoulders, rubbing them lightly over the fabric of his shirt. Sensing your eagerness, Dean pulls away to remove his shirt, tossing it somewhere beside the bed. Your lips are against his again within a matter of moments. Your hands delve into his curls, playing with them and scratching his scalp periodically. Deanâs fingers find your spine, running the pads of his fingertips up and down, causing goosebumps to appear on your arms and legs. You feel his lips pull into a smirk against your own as he continues his feather-light touches against you.
Excitement getting the better of you, you pull your lips away from his before reaching down between the two of you to grasp the hem of Deanâs sweatpants. Never failing to hide his anticipation, Dean grows harder by the second. You motion for him to take off his pants and he complies quickly.
Sitting before you, clad only in his boxers, Deanâs eyes rake up and down your body in awe. Pressing a kiss to your shoulder, he gazes up at you through his eyelashes. âYouâre so beautiful, Y/N. Honestly.â Smiling, you lay back and pull Dean on top of you.
âYou make me so happy,â Dean says, love and adoration pouring from his eyes as he looks at you. You kiss him, and itâs once again filled with passion. âYou make me unbelievably happy, too, Dean.â Hearing your words, his cheeks flush and a soft smile graces his features.
âNow itâs time to show you how much I love you,â Dean says, pushing himself up before shimmying down your body. He kisses your skin as he goes down, planting his lips anywhere they can reach. He spends a few minutes on your breasts, placing open-mouthed kisses along the base of each breast before moving up to pull your nipple in his mouth. His fingers work your other breast, grasping and massaging the flesh while tweaking your nipple every few moments, eliciting a low moan from you.
Switching to the other side, Dean repeats his actions before continuing down your body. He continues to kiss your torso, sucking and nipping at the skin every so often. As he reaches your core, your folds are slick with your evident excitement. Dean smirks, his breath fanning over your exposed area. Glancing up at you, he meets your eyes before bringing his hands down to your thighs, opening them to him slowly.
Panting with anticipation, a breathy moan slips from your mouth. Dean chuckles lightly, the vibration of him against you sending an excited shiver up your body. âDean,â you whine, plunging your fingers in his hair.
Dean lowers his head between your thighs, his tongue darting out to swipe up your folds lightly. âFuck. Youâre so wet,â he groans. A moan escapes you and you can feel Deanâs smirk against you. His tongue touches your folds again and this time he licks a bold stripe from your entrance up to your clit.
Your hands tug on his hair, egging him on. His lips wrap around your clit as his tongue continues its soft licking of your clit. âFuck, Dean,â you whimper. He pulls his head back to look up at you. âIâm going to put a finger in.â You nod and feel as his hand moves from your thigh to your entrance, slowly inserting a digit.
Moans continue to rip through you as Dean goes to town against your clit. His other hand comes and takes the place of his mouth, rubbing fast, tight circles on the small bundle of nerves. The familiar coil in your stomach of an approaching orgasm grows, and your squirming under Dean increases. Smiling against your heat, Dean adds another finger, pumping them in and out. âIâm close, Dean,â you groan. You feel him moan against you in response, the vibrations increasing your pleasure.
Youâre writhing under his touch and within seconds, his continuous finger-pumping and clit-licking has you undone. Your hands tighten in his hair as he mumbles against your clit, âCome for me, love.â
Your orgasm comes and it hits you hard. Dean feels it as well, a proud smile on his face as he pulls away from your center and moves his body up until his face is level with yours. Panting, you open your eyes and are met with Deanâs icy blues. âThat was hot,â Dean groans, kissing the corner of your mouth sweetly.
âAll thanks to you,â you reply cheekily, winking at him. Dean chuckles before pushing himself up to rest on his forearms. He adjusts himself, comfortably situated between your legs, before you feel his tip lightly trace around your folds. Dean smiles down at you, kissing you fervently as he inserts his length into you. You canât help but let out a moan against Deanâs mouth and he groans. Once heâs fully sheathed within you, he pauses a moment.
âLet me know, and Iâll go,â he says. You nod, and Dean pulls his hips back before beginning to thrust into you passionately. He shifts his arms lower so that his hands can caress your chest and sides. Your hands find their way into his hair again and Dean groans. âFuck, Y/N. You feel so good,â he says, eyes screwed shut in an attempt to soak up all the pleasure.
As Deanâs hips continue to move against yours, your hands grip his hair tighter and his fingers journey lower to run up and down your sides. Deanâs head falls forward, burying his face in your neck as he continues to thrust into you. Moans are coming from the both of you plentifully, and Deanâs curses donât seem to stop. âShit. Fuck. Damn, Y/N. I love you.â You smile at his words, moving one of your hands from his hair to stroke his back and side.
Another groan and string of curses falls from Deanâs mouth as your moans are getting louder and more frequent. âIâm close,â Dean murmurs against your neck, and you respond with a slight nod. Dean pulls his head from the crook of your neck to hover over you before shifting his weight to one arm. Snaking his arm down your body, you feel his fingers on your clit, alternating between rubbing circles on it and pressing it tightly between his thumb and index finger.
âAre you going to come, love?â Dean manages to ask between pants, groans, and curses. You nod, eyes closed tightly in pleasure. Deanâs fingers continue to work against your clit and within seconds youâre squirming more than ever. âCome for me,â Dean commands, a slightly hardened edge to his voice. This only works you up more, and moments later youâre a mess beneath him. As your orgasm washes over you, you see Dean reach his climax as well. Feeling him twitch rapidly inside you, he quickly removes his length before ejecting his load onto your chest. âFuck. Fuck. Fuck,â Dean continues, watching with clouded eyes as you grind your hips against his, both of you helping the other to ride out the pleasure. Dean falls onto the bed beside you, staring at the ceiling. âFuck me, Dean. That was great,â you comment breathlessly.
Minutes later, you are both calmer and Dean pushes himself up to his elbows to glance over at you. You turn your head to face him as a grin spreads on his lips as he takes in your blissed out form. Dean leans down to kiss you gently before standing and going to the bathroom to retrieve a wet cloth to clean you up.
By the time Dean has returned, your eyes are closed and your body is relaxed. Stepping back into the bedroom, he approaches you quietly, hoping heâs not disturbing you. He reaches down to your stomach and abdomen with the cloth, wiping his load off of you. You smile, content with Deanâs soft and gentle touches against you. Grinning, he turns his attention from the soiled cloth to you. âShit, that was fun, love. I might have to use you as my muse more often.â

see you again - dean-charles chapman x reader (headcanons)
yet another request! i hope itâs okay <3
p.s. i had no idea what to call this, so please ignore the crappy title :,) no warnings, just fluff (as usual lmao)
you had heard about the set of âhere are the young menâ needing extras for a party scene
so you and your friend decided to go and apply, thinking it could be fun, if anything else
you could then say youâve been on the set of movie, which is definitely something to talk about at a family dinner
when you and your friend actually got accepted, you were pretty excited, as you werenât used to being on film sets whatsoever
upon your arrival when the day finally came, a member of the crew directed you to an area behind the set
you were then greeted by all the other extras waiting until they were needed for the scene
so you and your friend both began to mingle around with the new faces, thinking you might as well go for it while youâre there, as itâs an apportunity to meet new people
while chatting away, you and your friend ended up being separated in the crowd - but you had each otherâs numbers to find each other when you needed to, so continued your conversation
once that particular conversation had ended, you were going to locate your friend, but ended up bumping into another unfamiliar face
âoh, iâm sorry!â you quickly apologised, feeling bad for the slight collision
âitâs no problem loveâ he said, holding out his hand with a laugh, âiâm dean by the wayâ
you looked up and took his hand, giving it a shake while involuntarily thinking wow, what a looker
you didnât recognise him, but later found out he was in fact one of the main actors in the film
âiâm y/n,â you shook his hand for a little too long, you thought, but you couldnât help it
dean was then hooked - he instantly wanted to get to know you more, and threw plenty of flirting into the mix
âso what decided to bring a pretty girl like you to be an extra?â you playfully rolled your eyes at his attempted flirting, but it still created a butterfly feeling in your stomach
âi saw the advertisement and thought why not? might as well go for these things while you have the chanceâ you shrugged
dean admired you âgo for itâ attitude, making him even more drawn to you than before
unfortunately though, the extras were called up to actually be in a scene, causing disappointment to fill you at the fact you had to leave dean
but little did you know, heâd be wanting you to return just as much as you wanted to go back to him
if he had to be in the front of the scene, youâd have to try your very best not to stare at him the whole time, in case you were noticeable in the shot
so you managed to re-locate your friend, distracting yourself by, well, talking about him instead
it wasnât long before the scene was finished, after a few takes, and all the extras were thanked and told they could leave
you took your time though, in the hopes dean would catch you up
which to your surprise and relief, he did exactly that
âhey, y/n, fancy going for a walk?â he asked as he approached you
you agreed without hesitation, internally scolding yourself for answering so quickly
so there you two were, walking around the outskirts of the building you just filmed in, making comfortable small talk (with dean still being his cheeky, flirty self)
until you noticeably started shivering, as the cold night air was beginning to get to you
âare you cold? here, take thisâ dean began to take his coat off before you even had time to object, placing it on your shoulders
since it was already on you, you could do nothing but thank him, secretly being glad he did
it did the job of warming you up, and the fact you could also smell his cologne on it was definitely a bonus
after a quick detour in order to spend longer together, your walk came to an end and you explained how you should probably get going before your friend started to worry about you
âiâm really glad i met and spent time you today y/n, and i was hoping it wonât be the last?â dean asked hopefully, dropping his flirty demeanour as his nerves kicked in
the butterflies in your stomach returned, as you were elated at the fact he wants to see you again
âiâd love that, do want to take my number?â a sudden confidence boost hit you, not wanting to let the opportunity of seeing dean again slip
âyeah, courseâ he got his phone out, handing it to you with his contacts open for you to put your number in
âiâll be seeing you again very soonâ dean winked, his cheeky side returning again
you gave a quick hug goodbye (which filled your stomach with even more butterflies), as you went to return his coat
âkeep it until we see each other next? then i know you wonât show me upâ he joked, and you couldnât help but laugh
he must be mad if he thinks youâd ever do that
he then texted you that night, and letâs just say youâd be meeting up again tomorrow (and then many times after that) :)
eek thank your for reading, i really loved this idea! brb while i go sign up to be an extra in every film deanâs a part of in the futuređ€
