Today, I published the first chapter of my very first fanfiction.

Of course, it's about Supernatural. And of course, it focuses on Cas. My whole purpose was to give him a voice.

The fic will be canon compliant and will retrace some episodes from season 4.

More details below:

Summary:

I am an Angel of the Lord, a celestial being, a Soldier, a Hand to God's Will. My only purpose is to serve in this eternal war between good and evil. Fight, torture, kill: God names the target and I execute. I know my fate is perilous. Many of my kin have already fallen for the cause and I am also prepared to sacrifice my own life if the moment comes. This is the sole purpose of my existence in this universe.

Season 4 seen through the eyes and the thoughts of Castiel. Or how the meeting of a hunter and an angel could change the fate of the whole world.

Alright, it’s been literal years since I’ve thought about these fics but I wanna read them again but have absolutely no clue how to find them so I turn to you, the people,

Has anyone out there read a supernatural fic where Dean, Sam, and Cas head into hell and have to travel through the different circles but as they’re down there there’s like a “crack” or something in Castiel’s vessel and hell starts to infect him?

And has anyone read a fic where Cas is starting to fall and is terrified because it’s revealed that angels don’t fall from Angel > Human but rather Angel > Demon, skipping anything close to human in the process?

CALLING THE SUPERNATURAL FIC READERS

I am desperately trying to find an AO3 SPN fic I read a while back! I forgot to bookmark it and now don't remember what it was called.

It was a human AU where Chuck was a crazy dude living in a basement, who kidnapped people and sewed non-functional wings to their back and injected them with "grace" (I remember it made them glow in the dark). He gave them angel names.

"Castiel" escaped but with severe amnesia (I think from hitting his head while trying to fly away). Dean picks him up and tries to take care of him. They communicate largely by signs. Castiel tries to write to him in Enochian but Dean ofc doesn't know it.

There's sexual tension. They fuck.

Someone comes over and teaches them both some basic ASL.

Dean finds Castiel's actual family at some point and they bond.

Chuck finds Castiel again and kidnaps Dean and is going to turn him into an "angel" unless Castiel returns to the flock.

Castiel returns and gets brainwashed again, and Chuck keeps Dean anyway.

Chuck uses Castiel to try to hurt Dean until (quelle surprise!) it is revealed that Castiel isn't actually brainwashed!

Chuck gets decked. Castiel's family shows up with the police. Everyone's happy.

Random Destiel Season 16 ideas…

Dean and Jack get Cas out of the Empty.

Dean, emotionally constipated, says not a word about the confession and avoids the entire topic for as long as he can.

After a hunt with Dean, Cas and Dean end up at the Bunker. Dean starts to head for his room and tries to leave Cas at his. Cas decides he’s not having it. Not for one more second. And since now he’s very pop culture savvy, he decides to pull out the stops and become the most dramatic man he can think of in that moment: Ronny Cammareri, from Moostruck. And being Cas of the eidetic memory, he doesn’t change an inflection or a word of the impassioned speech:

“Loretta, I love you. Not like they told you love is, and I didn't know this either, but love don't make things nice - it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. We aren't here to make things perfect. The snowflakes are perfect. The stars are perfect. Not us. Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and *die*. The storybooks are *bullshit*. Now I want you to come upstairs with me and *get* in my bed!”

Dean raises an eyebrow. “Loretta?” He asks with a smirk.

Cas is embarrassed. “It was the best I could come up with.” He looks at the floor before tilting his head and lifting his eyes to take in Dean’s beloved face. “It was clearly ineffective, since you’re not in my bed.” He frowns. “I was sure it would work. It did for Ronny.” He starts to turn towards his room.

Dean closes the space between them before Cas can even get his hand on the doorknob. He grasps Cas by the shoulder and turns him, unresisting, to meet Cas’ ridiculously blue eyes with his own.

He takes a deep breath and says what he should have before the Empty tore them apart.

“‘course I love you, too Cas. It’s only been you for years. Didn’t you notice?”

Cas stands, stunned. It’s the longest ten seconds of Dean’s life. Lives. Whatever.

Cas smiles, shy and warm, and his tears well up and start to flow as he cups Dean’s face, reverent, and lays the gentlest of butterfly kisses on his lips. Dean is just as soft as he returns the kiss and wipes the tears away.

Cas bends and sweeps Dean off his feet into a bridal-style carry, uses a touch of his grace to whoosh them to the other side of his door. We can hear Dean’s deep chuckle, his boots hitting the floor, and the sound of clothing being hurriedly removed and dropped.

From under the door, a bright light.

Dean, also pop culture savvy, can be heard to say, “Wings? Far out!”

Suptober 2023-Day 31: Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat 828 words on AO3 or below Summary: Cas tells Dean Jack's plan for Halloween

Last day! Thanks for reading!

Cas takes a deep breath (even though he doesn’t really need it) before entering the room. He has no real reason to be nervous about telling Dean what Jack wants to do. It’s not really up to him but in a way he feels guilty about not including Dean in the conversation earlier. Plus, he doesn’t really know how Dean feels about Halloween or holidays in general. 

There was that time Sam, Dean and Jack celebrated a year's worth of holidays, including Jack’s birthday, in a week with Mrs. Butters, whoever that was. He tries not to think about being excluded. They both apologized saying it happened so fast, but is a week really that fast? Hmmm…maybe he doesn’t feel so guilty after all. 

Cas opens the door to find Dean stretched out on the bed reading. 

Dean looks up from his book when he walks in and smiles. “Hey, Cas.”

“Hello, Dean.” He sits at the end of the bed. “Can I speak with you for a moment? It’s about Jack.”

Dean sits up, worried. “Yeah, sure. What’s up?”

“As you know, tomorrow is Halloween.”

Dean snorts. “How could I forget?”

“Yes, well Jack has been watching a lot of Halloween movies this year and he was asking about Trick or Treating. He knew when he was born he would have to grow up fast, that he wouldn’t be a child.” A sadness that Dean only sees when Cas talks about Jack’s lost childhood crosses his face. “Generally speaking he’s been ok with it because he knew he was needed for more. However, this year he wants to experience Trick or Treating.”

Dean raises his eyebrows, laughing nervously. “Uhh, I know he’s only been around for about 5 years but he looks and acts like an adult. People usually don’t like it when teenagers do it let alone 20 somethings.”

Cas laughs. “I’m aware. I told Jack as much but he has a solution.” He takes a deep breath. “He says he has enough power to de-age himself for at most 12 hours.”

“What?” Dean chokes. “He can do that?”

“Evidently he can. He tried it for a few minutes yesterday.” He says seriously. 

“What the hell?” Dean stands up ready to find Jack but Cas stops him. “That’s so dangerous, he had no idea what could’ve happened.”

“I know.” Cas says calmly. “Believe me, I explained to him how dangerous it was, especially alone and in secret.” He shakes his head.

Dean sits down a little calmer. “Ok, so what, he wants to be a kid for a few hours and have you take him Trick or Treating?”

“Well,” Cas looks at him hopeful. “He’d like both of us to take him if you’re ok with that.”

“Really?” He asks surprised. They’ve been working on their relationship but he’s still amazed that he wants him there for his special night.

Cas reaches to hold Dean’s hand. “Of course, Dean, he loves you.” He says with a squeeze.

Deany jumps up. “I need a costume.” He says, excited. “I don’t have much time.”

Cas blocks Dean from leaving. “Slow down, Jack and I have already discussed this too.” He says apologetic. “Actually, it was Jack that had costume ideas for all of us in mind.”

“He does?” Knowing Jack it could be anything, Dean thinks nervously. 

“A beekeeper.”

Cas watches as recognition flashes over Dean. His history with bee’s is complicated and it appears Dean remembers that as well. 

“It seems Jack was searching for family costume ideas and found one with a child dressed as a bee and the parents as beekeepers.” Cas smiles. Whatever his history with bee’s is, Jack’s idea does make a cute picture. “He saw it and thought it would be perfect for us. I didn’t want to disappoint him.”

Dean laughs a little uneasy. “No, you’re right. We don’t need to tell him anything about that time, it’s in the past long before he came into the picture.” He smiles. “He would make a cute bee.”

“So you’ll do it?” Cas asks, hopeful. 

“Hell yeah!” Dean says, excited. “I’ve never really done the whole Trick or Treating thing. This will be fun. We’re making the costumes right? Not buying some cheap thing at Spirit Halloween?” He asks somewhat concerned. 

“I don’t know what that is but no. Jack thinks he saw something we could use as beekeeper uniforms in the storage room so he’s already in there looking.”

Dean is out the door before he can say much more. “I’ll help him look!” he shouts from down the hallway.

“Ok.” He says to himself in the empty room, heart bursting with happiness. He may not see the point in going to strangers' homes asking for candy when they could just buy it themselves but both Jack and Dean seem thrilled at the opportunity. 

He’s happy Jack will get to have a childhood experience he deserves. And Dean too for that matter.
