On Idiocy
"Why haven't you called up the clients for yesterday's Orphans?"
For context, we call "orphans" anyone who stops by a dealership and who isn't paired with a salesperson. If you stopped by for a tune-up and weren't pitched on a buyback, you're an orphan.
Considering, can you imagine how annoying it would be if I put on my best Nerdlinger voice, added a phlegmmy snort and told my Call Center guys to ring up clients who had their appointments yesterday or a few days ago? There's no way I can convince someone who's already left to pull a one-eighty and traipse on back to Yon Olde Dealershippe.
"I don't know," says one of the Sales guys, "we managed to lower the APR by half a decimal point, a week ago!"
Be still, my fucking heart; half a decimal point. Riiiight. Next thing you know, the bean-counters are going to cure cancer.
Fuck this, I'm putting another hour on the newbies' onboarding, instead.
