I loved dead girls in stories. girl who is a problem or a mystery to be solved or a tool to be used or a symbol to be idolized by everyone in her life before & after she dies & no once can see why she’s driven just a little crazy by it because everyone loves her after all is such a fun character archetype. girl who no one’s ever really known - not really- & who’s death is integral to the fabric of the story my beloved

#a stairway to nowhere #Alice Elderwood #wip #very happy with some of the themes popping up here #Alice has definitely become my favorite character in this story #dead from the beginning & doomed from the very first sentence 🧟‍♀️🧟‍♀️#but also her story is a bit more hopeful than most characters of her nature #I love taking a beloved trope & subverting it without turning it on its head
