I'm finally done

The 3.74 meter reticulated python is finally finished, I am extremely proud, I feel like a peacock

There were probably more than a thousand pieces and I still have a 2.5 meter burmese degreasing and two other snakes in the freezer waiting to be cleaned and articulated

I showed someone a photo of my room, and their response was “I thought this was a photo of a haunted house attraction at first”

I think. This is a success.

This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever found. Half of this deer’s face was partially mummified by direct exposure to the sun, and the other half was perfectly cleaned to the bone. He looks mythical, like some sort of death spirit. I cherish him dearly, he’s all cleaned up at home with me now (photos from last fall)

It took… a lot of strength to get all that mummified skin off. And there were so many maggots. I tried my very best not to hurt any of them in the process, I love those guys.

Analia the Bee

I made this after finding a bee that I thought was dead, but was actually still alive, barely.

I don't usually name my specimens, but I asked my best friend if she wanted a bee named after her and she said "yes" (btw her name is pronounced "ah-nah-LEE-ah", not "an-NAH-lia").

Of all the animals I've found, this one made me the saddest.

I have a whole series of these I'm working on and tweaking; they're intended for a paleolithic themed oracle deck (though I make no promises). This one is the most "ready" and complete - the raven.

I rarely post my regular non-fandom art stuff here but… bones… progress on my bone project™️

I sketch out the weird surreal-y forms based on what shapes I see stained onto the bone itself— the natural discolouration from decomposing in the woods. It kinda feels like I’m capturing their ghosttttt!!!!!! Every scapula is from the animal depicted on it (a horse and a deer, in this case).
