Weekend Update - 12/24/2023 Christmas Eve

Hey Nerdie! You’ve got some bags there.

I do both under my eyes and Din finally let me look through the ones he’s been using. It’s….Mandalorians are wild.

I feel like they’re not Nerdie, at least not how you’re thinking. Should we even ask?

Has to do with what I’ve written this week:

Weddings 101 with Dieter - chapter 3 came out this week. There was a fight that I still giggle about. There will be more, I’m loving the beef between Dieter and Oscar. There had to be some type of fight in the rom-com. 🤭 There was also cloud smut? I don’t know how else to put it. Ya’ll read it and tell me what it was.

Sard’ika Sessions - In Session Four Din put together something in the reader’s house. They may use it again. Liberties are taken with the Creed and Mandalorian culture though not too crazy. (That might be for an epilogue.) I’d like to thank everyone who’s been reading since Session one (we’ve come so far from thigh-riding) and are now on the latter end where our Session partners are exploring each other but communication as well. It was really sweet to read people’s comments and see that they picked up on how well they communicate with each other while indulging in their sexual appetites. I’d like to think it’s come across how I planned it originally when I scribbled all of this in my notebook at 4am when I couldn’t sleep in November after Thanksgiving of all things. We’ll see how things continue to progress.

I have a poll up for “Weddings 101 with Dieter” to determine what might go into chapter four. I’m enjoying everyone’s comments and options on what should happen with both Dieter/Maya and Dieter vs. Oscar. Click the link above to vote and have your suggestions added. I’ll announce the results and the most voted will be put in. I’ll likely add some of the other suggestions because I like them so much. ☺️

Nerdie’s Bedtime Stories (Might be a new series for weirdness I think up and might read to someone. This was a Christmas Carol featuring some of the Pedro boys. A Feral Carol as @maggiemayhemnj called it.) @undercoverpena and @morallyinept encouraged me. 🤣

You put a lot of thought into what you write. We really thought it was only the non-smut stuff you thought hard on. You’ve indicated you have trouble with that before.

It’s not so much I have trouble with it. I’m used to doing one-shots and exclusivity writing smut before I joined back up on Tumblr. I’m branching out and trying all sorts of smut and actual storylines (when I can make it coherent to anyone but myself) in my writing now. Even comedy with Dieter though I like to put little jokes in most of my writing.

Ah, so you’re learning as you go on as we all do. Fair. Any current WIPs you’re trying to finish up before 2023 is out?

Well, I have a Pickled Peña to finish. Everyone’s welcome to join in and write about our favorite DEA agent Javier Peña. Everyone who’s participating will post on January 1st and tag their work with the “pickled peña” tag.

I’m also participating in the PMAMC 2024 which is in mid-January. I decided to challenge myself with not only writing about pegging but also writing with a character I’ve only written for once and in his historical setting, because past Nerdie who accepted this was feeling ambitious. 😗 Present Nerdie wonders what was she thinking. 🧐 She also has to review her notes on what may have been used to facilitate pegging during the time period, there’s a long note I have on it. It should be mostly historically accurate, I guess, because that’s what matters. 👀 In pegging - the historical aspect. 😒

I have two Robbie Reyes asks to work on as well as one smut piece I wanted to do for him and one actual story.

There are three Joel pieces that I wanted to write, one will be tabled until next Christmas. I don’t think I’ll finish it by tomorrow. The second was a post outbreak one, I’ve only written post outbreak once so I want to see if it will be a one short or series. The third one might be finished. I need to edit it.

Anything else will likely be tabled until 2024 because I either don’t have ideas for it or I want to wait until I feel good about writing it. 😊

Fandoms: I read for a LOT of fandoms but I have written for: X-Men, Dragon Age, Pokemon, Star Wars, The Hollow Kingdom Trilogy, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Most Popular One shot: “Clowns to the Left of Me, Jokers To The Right” which is part three of my series focusing on Peter Maximoff and Magneto from X-men Days of Future Past figuring out how to be father and son when his dad is a super villain. It’s a series I love deeply and had so much fun writing and this story is probably also my favorite out of the four I wrote.

Most Popular multichapter: Dear Fen’harel, my Solavellan college AU/Dear Daddy Long Legs AU monster fic that I have somehow kept up for almost kept up for four years despite the fact that I am NOTORIOUS for never finishing anything long and losing interest. I will finish this fic if it kills me.

Actual worse part of writing: Well, I for one, really suck at world building. But I think the worst part about writing are all the days where I have the desire to write and the time for it, but not the energy or the words. Every sentence is like pulling teeth and it really sucks cause I only have time to write on the weekends during the school year so if it doesn’t happen then I have to wait another week.

6. How you choose your titles: I hate titles and I’m bad at them. Sometimes I will read a line in a fic and be inspired by it, but mostly I steal outrageously from songs and poems.

7. Do you outline? Sort of? I have to have some kind of plan or I forget what I’m doig and I get off track. But I can’t plant meticulously. Its basically a list of scenes that I want in the order that I want them and I just go down the list and write it. I always leave room for new ideas to spring up so the outline changes a lot.

8. Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice? I have so many WIP ideas for different fandoms -- like ATLA, Persona 5, The Queen’s Thief series, but all of that requires a lot of research and study of the material and the characters, especially if I haven’t seen or read something in a long time, and I just don’t have the energy for that. Dragon Age is easy cause I already know everything I need to.

9. Callouts @ me: Refreshing tumblr for the fiftieth time in ten minutes is not going to inspire you and its not going to make this chapter come out any faster so get off your ass and write.

10. Best writing traits: I am really proud of my dialogue and banter and how I build relationships of all kinds between then characters.

11. Spicy Tangential Opinion: The reason why I write fanfic 90 percent of the time is because what is out there already doesn’t satisfy me. Either what I want is no where to be found, which is what inspired my Peter and Magneto fics, or I hate what is already written. A lot of fic for me is spite fic, because I hate seeing the same type of relationship dynamics or OCs so I almost never read anyone else’s fic recs. I’m so so picky about what I will like, I am not chill at all, lol. I’m never rude about it and I always thank them, but a lot of the time what people rec me is the stuff I hated so much I had to write my own version. If I have an interest in what’s out there and I trust your opinion, then I usually just ask for recs when I’m ready for them.

Better Call Saul Season-6 Predictions

#1.  Lalo dies

The buzz online is that Lalo survives Better Call Saul and is still running around, unseen, in the Breaking Bad world.

Don’t believe it.

Most of this buzz seems to be emanating from the same source. I’ve watched more than one Youtube video speculating about Season-6, for example, which pretty much mirrored each other. We’re talking little or no difference in content from supposedly unrelated people! So that’s not a Buzz, that’s the studio setting expectations.

Anyhow, the buzz points back to an Episode in Breaking Bad, Season-2, where Walt & Jesse kidnap Saul in an attempt to pressure/scare him into not making any deals with the DEA no matter how beneficial they would be for his client. Anyhow, they succeed in scaring Saul, he thinks they’re drug cartel henchmen, and pleads for his life insisting “it wasn’t me” and “it was Ignacio.”

Ignacio is the Nacho character’s real name in Better Call Saul.

So the Buzz is claiming that the scene in Breaking Bad, WHICH TAKES PLACE AFTER SEASON-6 OF BETTER CALL SAUL, means that Lalo is still alive & walking around, and none of this makes sense.

“Family is everything.”

That’s a Salamanca family creed, heard in Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul both.

There were at least four Salamancas alive in the Breaking Bad universe at the time Saul Goodman was pleading for his life and none of those Salamancas were Lalo.

Hector. Not very active, post stroke, but not dead.

Hector’s two nephews (the psycho twins), later done in by Hank Schrader, but still very much alive at this point.

Hector’s son, who is eventually killed by Jesse in Season-4.

So we don’t need Lalo alive for Saul to fear retribution, we’ve got Salamancas enough for that,  and... And... AND...

Lalo doesn’t kill Saul. If Lalo was alive and had reason to murder Saul, Saul would be dead. 

But, again, Lalo isn’t in Breaking Bad. The last of the Salamancas dies in Season-4 of Breaking Bad and none of them are Lalo. Gus visits Hector in the nursing home, after poisoning the cartel’s leadership, taunting him with the fact that they’re all dead and the Salamanca name dies with him (Hector).

We watched all the Salamancas die. None of them were Lalo.

#2.  Kim Wexler

Ever notice that Kim’s enemies are all men? She hates Howard. She hates Kevin at Messe Verde. The victims of her little play con games were men. She’s a loner, she doesn’t seem to have any friends except for Jimmy, and Jimmy appears less a man in her life than a surrogate mom. Which doesn’t make sense because she didn’t seem to get along with her mom too well. But we don’t really know much of that story so maybe Jimmy/Saul is that loving relationship she never had with her mom, maybe Jimmy/Saul is a place holder for the dad we never saw... 

Kim’s mom was unreliable and pretty shady it seems. That implies Jimmy but who knows? Still I have to make a prediction so I’m saying that Jimmy is Kim’s way of trying to have an emotional relationship with her mom.

I don’t think we’ve seen “The Real Kim” in Season-5. 

“Opposites Attract.” Kim is far more similar to Howard and Kevin than she is to Jimmy, which may explain her negative feelings towards them. She’s beating on herself? By beating on them she’s beating on herself?

Anyway, I think the journey for Kim comes full circle, and the Jimmy Experiment ends. I don’t think she dies, I think she walks. That, the love and attention from whatever parent she never got growing up she now gets from Jimmy has served it’s purpose. It fulfilled her needs.  And, she realizes this. She doesn’t hate Jimmy, it’s an experience she had always wanted, and Jimmy is never going to stop loving her but their paths diverge in Season-6.

Would be a hoot if she winds up with Howard... Probably what I would have done with the story.

#3.  Jimmy/Saul

At some point Jimmy fully transforms into the Saul Goodman character of Breaking Bad, and I’m guessing it’s the departure of Kim Wexler from his life that makes it happen.

Supposedly “Slipping Jimmy” had been trying to recast himself, and rebrand himself, from the beginning of the series, and he drew most if not all the inspiration from Kim Wexler. It was her rise from humble mailroom beginning to Power Attorney that prompted Jimmy to try the same. It was Kim, or Jimmy’s emotions for Kim, that drew him away from the path of Slipping Jimmy and towards that of Kim’s... and his brother’s. 

Anyway, I see Kim as Jimmy’s anchor. He’s a moth drawn inexorably towards her flame. The moment that flame is gone there is nothing to oppose Slipping Jimmy, no reason to fight it, no incentive to try much less actually change.

So that’s how I see it:  Kim walks and Saul Goodman snaps back hard into the Slipping Jimmy traits. He becomes the Saul Goodman of Breaking Bad.

#4. Nacho/Ignacio

I suspect that he dies. If I was writing for the show I would certainly write that in, his death, see if it stuck. I mean, he clearly has no future in the Better Call Saul universe as he doesn’t appear as Nacho/Ignacio. 

Could he just run? Of course. That’s what he wants to do. He wants out of the drug cartel, he wants out of his life of crime, he wants to run and he could certainly do that. He could run. And that could be why the character is not in Breaking Bad. It could be. It could happen that way. Or he can die. I’m going to say he dies.

#5.  Francesca

I don’t know. I really honestly don’t. She was an employee of Jimmy’s and Kim’s, they loved her, she was a great worker and then in Breaking Bad she seems like a mostly angry and corrupted person. On Breaking Bad she often comes across as somebody who is compromised and doesn’t like it, but she clearly is not lifting a finger to stop being compromised...

So I don’t get it.

Francesca returns to Saul Goodman sometime between Season-6 of Better Call Saul and Season-2 of Breaking Bad. I’m assuming we see her in Season-6. So, um, I guess that’s my prediction? We see Francesca again?

#6.  They overlap

Better Call Saul is a prequel to Breaking Bad. It happens first. Right?

Not necessarily.

The two shows could run concurrently.

Saul Goodman doesn’t make his first appearance in Breaking Bad until Season-2, Episode-8. So that leaves the entire first year and just over half the second for a Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad crossover.

We’ll definitely see more Breaking Bad characters pop up in Season-6. The money is on Walter White making an appearance.

#10.  The Breaking Bad Movie

So Breaking Bad ends and Walter White is dead, right? No. Wrong. All we saw was him collapse, presumably unconscious. But he could have been alive. People survive gunshot wounds all the time. So Walt is alive, in prison and the first act of the film is Walt’s stupendous breakout! We’re talking Mission Impossible & MacGyver all rolled into one! Walt engineers the most brilliant escape EVER, and then goes hunting for his $80 million that the Neo Nazis stole from him. He doesn’t know where it is but unlike everyone else on the planet he knows that it exists.

What do you think? Ground penetrating RADAR? Maybe inferred to search out changes in surface temperature, revealing hidden doors or tunnels?

AND THEN he needs to go after Gretchen & Elliot. Walt hated them, yes, but if you recall he dropped all of his money on them with instructions to gift it to his son, Walt Junior. Gretchen and Elliot agreed, of course, but after Walt’s capture they turn it all over to law enforcement, double crossing Walt. So Walt needs revenge on them, but he also needs a flight out of the country because he’s sick of trying to hide his cash, and he doesn’t want to go underground. No, Walt wants to retire someplace where he can live out his life as a free man, spend his money without care and Gretchen & Elliot just happen to own a private jet!

See how that works out?

Now, is Jesse involved in any of this? Jesse now knows that everything he was thinking about Walt was wrong, that Walt never double crossed him but he had double crossed Walt.

Jesse’s turning point -- against Walt -- when he was waiting to “The Vacuum Cleaner Repair Man” to help him to disappear, start a new life. Jesse seems to believe that he was being set up but in El Camino he spots the exact same mini van parked at the vacuum cleaner’s shop, so he knows that Walt was legitimately trying to help.

So, maybe now Jesse wants to help Walt. Or maybe law enforcement caught up to him and he just wants to escape and start a new life somewhere else, like Walt.

Is Saul Goodman in prison? How does Season-6 end? We know that in Season-5 he got made by a cab driver who seems intent on some sort of “Reward” i.e. blackmail. Maybe he puts Saul in prison. Or someone else recognizes him. Anything. So by the end of Season-6 Saul may be behind bars with Walt or even Walt & Jesse.

I think I’d rather see Walt reunited with his family on Gretchen & Elliot’s plane, instead of Saul. And the movie might need a sequel anyway, and Saul is as good a reason to have one as any,  so there’s that...

If your character had to pick one person as their role model, who would it be and why? What do they admire in this person? How has this role model affected their life and actions?

I’m not going to lie, I’m kinda struggling to pick just one character, so uh, guess here’s some characters I thought off with this question;  *Locket Lokidottir from Marvel Descendants- Locket looks up to a lot of people in her life, including her brother figure, Richard Creed and her later sister, Lily, owned by @disneyfan50 , due to them being the siblings who changed her life the most and she later looks up to Steve Rogers due to his role in slowly building the young avengers, but she also looks up to her fathers counterpart, Master of Chaos!Loki, owned by @disneyfan50 , due to him at least trying to be a father to her and due to him teaching her sorce while slowly trying to get her out of bad habits she has still left over from her own father. *Amanda Lokidottir from Marvel Descendants- Amanda mostly looks up to her adopted mom, Dea, owned by @disneyfan50 , since Dea is the first person who believed in Amanda, despite what Amanda had done prior, and was also the person who introduced Amanda to healing magic and therefore, Amanda does look up to Dea due to it being the moment her life changed.  *Jayla Del’Tazar from Marvel Descendants- With Jayla, she looks up to both her parents mainly when she finally finds them, but also looks up to her ancestors due to them being the first family she discovered and due to one of them being a warrior dragon like her, but in AUs with @disneyfan50 , she also looks up to superheroes, mainly the one who saved her as a baby as she hopes to be a hero one day like her. *Hyacinth from Descendants AU, Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing- Hyacinth looks up to her father, King Ben, due to the fact that she hopes to be as good at being queen like he is as King, with Ben’s previous decision to bring over VKs impacting Hya’s decision to bring over more VKs to try and continue that proclamation.  *Cassie Morris from Percy Jackson OCs- Cassie respects a lot of adult figures in her life, including her father, but she mainly looks up to her mom due to how much her mom had gone through to try and protect Cassie from the world of gods and monsters to the point one of her main reasons for agreeing to the quest to find the missing sea god was to hopefully find a way to get her mom awake again, just wanting the one adult whose always been there for Cassie no matter what happened, back.  *Reese Shiba from Power Rangers The New Samurai- Reese looks up to her father due to him being the only parent she has left due to her mothers death when she was younger, as Jayden was the red ranger before her and therefore, she does try to listen to him at least when it comes to being the next red anger, but does have her rebellious moments like always but the father and daughter always get along in the end somehow.  *Aki Tomani from Ninjas Unite- For Aki, it would be Leonardo and this is due to her seeing Leo as a father figure eventually as he acts like the groups father, but Aki always goes to Leo for advice on stuff, especially when it comes to both of them being leaders in some sense, though Aki does have her moments of questioning, but does generally look up to him despite those moments.

Twisted Creed: Chapter 25 - United Allies

Henry Green's POV.

It has been a Month and a week since Jacob and Evie came to London.  

Both twins look completely terrible; Evie was devastated about her findings being another dead end, and Jacob had an uneasy look on his features. I couldn't recognize either of them. It seems my favors have taken the better of them. Maybe, I should give up searching for Rosaliana and take into more important matters.

We shall free London from Starrick's rule. We shall free London from the Templars once and for all!

I move out of the room for a quick second. I quickly found what I was looking for, "It's time to move to more pressing matters" I walk with a steady pace inside the next room. Evie hasn't looked up from her ranting thoughts, and Jacob stares at something in the distance.

I am very curious to know what he is thinking about. He has been coming and going for hours. He seems to be looking for something outside in London's streets; however, he comes empty-handed with nothing at all.

I organize pictures of my allies on the table. My eyes gaze upon Rosaliana's picture. Her beautiful Heterochromia eyes were drawn to perfection. Her features look similar to a dream or a fantasy. She doesn't look real or alive sometimes. Some people years ago said she was a witch, but I believe her to be a fallen angel for London.

My eyes tender at the idea of her... the memories of our adventures. She has helped us in London more than anyone. I took the picture of her and her allies off the table. A sigh escapes my lips while I place it in a box. I hide it to complete the task a hand. A new team without any help from her.

Hope London Forgives My Actions...

"Evie, Jacob. It's time for you to meet my allies" I shouted not too loud, but enough for them to snap out of it. Evie looks up my way as Jacob stands up. In this play were two of my most trusted allies. Kaylock's picture because I am sure they'll encounter him. I move back to the box to take a familiar picture while Evie walks closer.

"Who are these people?", Evie asks as I approach the table. I look at the twins as they examine the pictures, "These are the two allies I have gained over the years". Both twins nod my way as I give them time to pay attention. I have seen a slight curiosity on Evie's features while Jacob is in and out. A quick silence comes through as I gather my thoughts quickly, "Urchins" 

I was sure Jacob would say something about it; however, his face looks more confuse. That's not something I was truly expecting. Jacob seems distance with a trouble looks to him. I would have thought he would be curious or surprise.

On the other hand, Evie is examining each picture. She patiently waiting for anything I have to say about them.

A sigh escapes Jacob's lips for a short second I look at him. His features haven't changed one bit. In the quietness, I can see there is something bothering him; however, I don't dare to ask him, "Urchins are the quicker source of information nowadays. They can recover and get information about almost anything. Clara'O Dea is the one that rally's them together"

I explain to them as they listen carefully. Evie is listening to me while Jacob is doing his own thing, "Children are a rare source of information. Older women and men see past them", a mutter comes out of Jacob's lips. Evie and I glance severely at Jacob Frye's form.

I would have thought the twin with information is Evie. It seems this surprises Evie as well. Jacob probably has no idea he is saying these things. His eyes are completely blank if he is thinking about some other thing. On the other hand, Evie is completely shocked at him.

I pushed the need to call out to Jacob. There must be a reason why he is acting this way. It's probably a twin thing in some way. I wouldn't like prying in their personal life isn't something I would like to do. They could handle whatever problem they have. They are the Frye Twins.

"Jacob?", Evie speaks up. I look at her as Jacob doesn't even answers, "Maybe, he hasn't had a good day of sleep". I pointed out while Evie thinks on it, "Now that you mention it. He hasn't sleep that well lately. Why do I have to remind him of everything?" She sighs heavily, a shake of her head not paying much attention to Jacob now.

A curl at the end of my right lip. Evie sighs heavily trying to ignore Jacob's behavior, "This is Frederick Abberline. He is our allied in the force. Also, I hear he is a Master in disguise". I explain to both twins as some way or another Jacob came out of his trance. He tried his best to look interested in anything I was saying; however, it was like he wasn't interested.

"Of course, here are some targets you might want to look into", A glance from Jacob as I showed a small paper. He was quicker than Evie taking them, "I'll get right on it" he blurts out, but Evie takes the paper back, "No, we need to meet the allies first then deal with this"

Jacob rolls his eyes. He sure wanted to get right to business; however, he didn't protest on Evie. A smile on my lips watching them discuss what to do next, "I am sure you will go right away. I'll not stop you any longer", Evie nodded my way as Jacob started walking out of the room, "I am sure you'll meet Kaylock's gang soon enough".

They nodded my way before heading to get their gears for their new assignment. When they left the room I look down to the two pictures on my hands.

Should I have let them meet this two? They are two of Rosaliana's finest men. I am aware they are still somewhere in London as I have seen Will many times. He became friends with a childish and reckless Templar Captain Boron.

The past seems to be coming back. I hope what's bringing back is good. I don't believe London can take another bad blow...

Let's hope the feeling I have.. is just a hoax.
