google search sucks ass 90% of the time even with boolean operators but people have got to stop lying by telling me duckduckgo is a good search engine that works.

I have been use ddg for years. it's also super broken just in its own special ways.

like cmon this image is 1200 x 1500 and the preview i'm being shown is barely 200 px across (like literally i just checked and it's 209.6 pixels wide)

i wish i knew html/js/whatever the fuck better so i could just make a userstyle myself; i think the most frustrating thing here is that if this was like a tumblr theme it would be very simple to just change the maximum image sizes but since it's an entire website i would have to figure out what to put in a userstyle myself in the first place just to be able to change the max width/height etc...

duckduckgo is nice (i like the ui options) but the fact that image search is... like that... and there's no way to change image preview sizes so they're, you know, not just the thumbnail, is really frustrating...

Lets get the biggest possible problem out of the way first. There's four items.

Open Jeans: 71,856

How does this compare to Maxis clothes?

I didn't go through every clothes they've made, but crop shirt, short sleeve wise, the largest poly count i saw was 4.2k That's a ratio of 160: 21 or 8: 1 if we make 4.2k into 4k.

for jeans, the largest i saw was 1,270. That's a ratio of about 85: 3 or 28.33333...: 1 if you want an easier number.

For bikini/under/etc the average was 1000~ so for ease sake, we'll use that. That's a ratio of 22: 1.

reason: the numbers are answer enough BUT in addition it literally made my game glitch/freeze up when first selecting them, playing with sliders, AND exiting CAS.

2. MESH VISUALS

This covers as stated... mesh visuals such as clipping or just looking nothing like it's advertised.

Problems 1 & 2:

for simplicity's sake, I'm using CAS poses. I think if it fails to look good in CAS it definitely won't look well in game.

Texture Type: 100% alpha, could not be mistaken for maxis.

Texture Quality: the texture is rather blurry and over-saturated in comparison to more higher quality CC clothes.

**Disclaimer: I don't play with the HQ mod so idk if it looks better with it.

3. WEIGHTS

This section kind of overlaps with #2 so look back up for review.

Aside from what was shown up there, when walking (for the open jeans) the crotch area again clips between itself as well as ankle seen in the left leg.

for the unopened jeans, no immediate issues seen when walking (same for the shirt & thong)

reason: clipping could be fixed by simply deleting unnecessary body mesh/ possibly minor weight tweaks

4. UV TEXTURE (mapping)

This section is meant to answer the question, "Will any conflict with other parts such as shoes, hats, etc?" Using the sims 4 UV map template as my guide, here are the results:

All four correspond to their proper sections and shouldn't conflict texture wise with other CAS parts

5. UNIVERSABILITY

This section covers questions like, "Does this work for large muscular and/or fat sims? Does it work if my sims are the lowest body mass?

TLDR; answer: Yes.

Answer: I only checked the top and opened jeans (as it's the worst mesh of all 4) and with muscles and fat at the max both simultaneously and respectively, there were no additional clipping or issues such as it not following with the body changes. The same could be said when both (or one) was dropped to the lowest.

Lee is 100% better with kids than Luke-

Luke is a big brother figure to lot of campers, but on a fundamental level he's not great with them.

He especially has a bad habit of projecting onto them. We see this especially with his feelings about the gods. He's angry, so they must be angry,or else they're naive.

Lee,however, connects with campers more fundamentally.

He does his best to push any of his personal biases away,and listen to the other and help in way best for them. He 100% would love to be a teacher or music therapist with kids. He just feels right connecting with campers.

Lee always helped Luke with Hermes cabin, specially with kids like the Stolls. Many cause he knew most of them were acting out for attention, and wanted to give them the right attention to help them out of that.

Luke, however, had bad habit of just letting his own anger and such boil up. So he wasn't great with helping others more healthily process their emotions. He's too repressed himself ftgdg

Anyway- yeah. Luke was a brother figure looked up to for the most part, mainly cause of how he trained and led his cabin and such. He was like a classic hero to campers.

But on a more sincere and emotional level? Lee was lot more looked to for that support. By those that recognize it anyway.

Luke was great with helping developing demigod skills and such, why Lee helped with mental and emotional development as well as the more human side in general.

I'm just such a sucker for Lee being invested in child development and such. Luke doesn't really have much experience in actual normal mortal world. So he's much more tuned in to the godly aspects than he'd probably like to admit.

Meanwhile, Lee has enough experience in mortal world to help remind campers that they're still half human. And to forget that is to forget yourself entirely.

Also. Random hc. But Lee doesn't use last names much. Usually nicknames and first names. So whenever anyone, but especially Luke, hears their full name or last name? They know they messed up ddgs

I've been hearing rumblings about using Kagi as a search engine alternative instead of google or duckduckgo, so I've signed up for it. it's unusual in that you have to pay for it per month, but search engines are something I use literally every day. they have a 100 search trial for new users, and you get 300 searches/month for $5/month (unlimited for $10). I'm curious to see how many searches I do per day, I guess I count the number of times I've visited DDG over the past month but there's not an easy way to do that besides writing a script to do that (and you know I'm gonna do that right after writing this up). I'm curious how useful this really is because often my internet searches (trying really hard not to use the term "google search" when I'm not using google to search) are programming related and I get what I'm looking for. I will report back after using it some.

100% of "name origin" websites that show up when you want to look up a name's origin are complete and totally useless and should be burned to the ground. This is true for English and Portuguese. And I know the problem is not just Google, because ddg also only shows these piece of shit useless AI generated filler clickbait sites that don't even bother to create fake sources for their (sometimes completely absent) claims about the etymology of "Alvarenga" or "Camargo" or whatever. At least English names have Wiktionary, Portuguese etymologies don't show up there

Also fun fact. Duck Duck Goose’s plot and timeline has been being worked on for god who knows how long. I’m sure it’s expected that there’s plot to it but I’m actually 100+ pages into the SUMMARY. Frankly though that’s with some formatting on Google Docs for easier view + not simply summarized like there’s some detail in some parts but DDG’s plot has definitely been going crazy. Agree with @tparadox's tags that too many adblocker/privacy extensions is not a good idea.

My personal opinions follow

Not Recommended:

HTTPS Everywhere is *good*, it just is not needed anymore (not for some years), FF very nearly enforces that by default, and there is a native setting that will totally lock out the ability to go to non-HTTPS sites

DDG extension - not needed, just set your search engine to it. It is redundant when you have a reasonable set of privacy extensions / good browser settings. I would not trust the "AdBlocker Ultimate" and "AdBlocker for YouTube" extensions. They should be 100% redundant with the well known and excellent uBlock Origin.

Ghostery nowadays is owned by a for profit company and at least at one time would "optionally" show you ads: https://web.archive.org/web/20180526054400/https://www.ghostery.com/faqs/what-is-ghostery-rewards/

In any case, a for profit company isn't going to maintain something like that without a profit angle of some sort.

Privacy Possum is all about "being tracked" albeit with incorrect information. I do not know how it interacts with privacy preserving extensions/features. Not recommend, but it is possible it is ok. AFAIK the project itself is ok? just a matter of how it interacts with others.

AdNauseam and TrackMeNot are very similar to each other and somewhat like Privacy Possum. They mainly are about polluting the tracking data sets. I have not heard of them before, they do seem to be independent open source projects, not owned by companies. So they might be ok, if polluting tracking results is what you want to do. I personally don't see the value over just avoiding tracking. If you do want to do it, you probably shouldn't have all these other blockers. AdNauseam specifically says you should uninstall other adblockers like AdBlock Plus or uBlock Origin.

Most of the above extensions are at best a waste of resources, may slow your browser down, etc, some may be actually harmful in various ways.

Neutral, may be ok - but I don't know for sure - if you need/want them:

SponsorBlock is ok AFAIK, it is an open source community project. I'd put it with "Recommended" but it doesn't help your privacy really, it just jumps past the YT sponsorship segments - which are pre-recorded in the video, not shown to you based on tracking, etc.

Blue Blocker - IDK anything about it. Check if the site looks good, is it owned by a company and if it is open source. But really why are you on Twitter at this point... Also not a privacy helper.

Unhook might be ok, it has the FF recommend badge at least. Check if open source etc. Not a privacy preserver.

"Don't Track Me Google" Might be ok (has FF recommend badge at least), might not, it just seems to remove the Google search redirection (when you click a URL on the search results page it sends you through another google URL first). Using a different search engine like DDG is probably better.

Recommend (from the above list):

uBlock Origin - possibly the best adblock of all, open source project, thorough, flexible, and up to date.

Privacy Badger (from the EFF) - good adaptive tracking protection, not based on static lists, an interesting approach. I don't currently use it, but I am not going for maximum privacy anyway.

Facebook Container - uses Firefox's native container system to isolate Facebook in such a way that FB will largely think that FB is the only site you visit (in certain respects, other aspects are taken care of by e.g. setting a strong cookie policy in FF, using uBlock Origin). I just use the full Multi-Account Containers (below), but they can be used together if you want.

Some not mentioned above:

ClearURLs:

As far as I know currently the best URL cleaner - removes FB, Amazon, UTM, etc tracking codes from URLs. However seems to be a bit under-maintained right now, hopefully the author is able to work more on it or gets helpers or something soon.

Multi-Account Containers is the same idea (and FF infrastructure) as FB Container, but you can make many different containers and control which sites go in which ones, etc. Also lets you be logged into the same site as different users (e.g. as two totally different tumblr accounts (not sideblogs)). Very good but takes some setup effort.

And of course, NoScript is great, but requires a good bit of setup work and then some ongoing work just as part of using it. It gets pretty easy mostly with some practice, but that does put people off. However it can really help privacy and often just web page speed as well.

So that's six recommend, and I wouldn't want too many more general privacy extensions than that (ones for very specific cases/issues might be different), and also notice these do not overlap much in functionality (except the two Container ones)
