google search sucks ass 90% of the time even with boolean operators but people have got to stop lying by telling me duckduckgo is a good search engine that works.

I have been use ddg for years. it's also super broken just in its own special ways.

1. POLY COUNT

Lets get the biggest possible problem out of the way first. There's four items.

Open Jeans: 71,856

Jeans: 34,080

Softie Top: 32,036

DDG String: 21,776

How does this compare to Maxis clothes?

I didn't go through every clothes they've made, but crop shirt, short sleeve wise, the largest poly count i saw was 4.2k That's a ratio of 160: 21 or 8: 1 if we make 4.2k into 4k.

for jeans, the largest i saw was 1,270. That's a ratio of about 85: 3 or 28.33333...: 1 if you want an easier number.

For bikini/under/etc the average was 1000~ so for ease sake, we'll use that. That's a ratio of 22: 1.

reason: the numbers are answer enough BUT in addition it literally made my game glitch/freeze up when first selecting them, playing with sliders, AND exiting CAS.

2. MESH VISUALS

This covers as stated... mesh visuals such as clipping or just looking nothing like it's advertised.

Problems 1 & 2:

for simplicity's sake, I'm using CAS poses. I think if it fails to look good in CAS it definitely won't look well in game.

Texture Type: 100% alpha, could not be mistaken for maxis.

Texture Quality: the texture is rather blurry and over-saturated in comparison to more higher quality CC clothes.

**Disclaimer: I don't play with the HQ mod so idk if it looks better with it.

Rating: 4/10

3. WEIGHTS

This section kind of overlaps with #2 so look back up for review.

Aside from what was shown up there, when walking (for the open jeans) the crotch area again clips between itself as well as ankle seen in the left leg.

for the unopened jeans, no immediate issues seen when walking (same for the shirt & thong)

Rating: 6/10

reason: clipping could be fixed by simply deleting unnecessary body mesh/ possibly minor weight tweaks

4. UV TEXTURE (mapping)

This section is meant to answer the question, "Will any conflict with other parts such as shoes, hats, etc?" Using the sims 4 UV map template as my guide, here are the results:

All four correspond to their proper sections and shouldn't conflict texture wise with other CAS parts

Rating: 10/10

5. UNIVERSABILITY

This section covers questions like, "Does this work for large muscular and/or fat sims? Does it work if my sims are the lowest body mass?

TLDR; answer: Yes.

Answer: I only checked the top and opened jeans (as it's the worst mesh of all 4) and with muscles and fat at the max both simultaneously and respectively, there were no additional clipping or issues such as it not following with the body changes. The same could be said when both (or one) was dropped to the lowest.

Why the hell would anyone gaslight and lie about having a baby, is it immaturity?!

For those that don’t know Halle Bailey, aka the little mermaid was pregnant last year. I’m all for being private and keeping this out the public, but this girls fans and the “fans” of her baby daddy DDG obviously saw or realized she was pregnant, then the girl got pictured with a big ole belly mind you, clear as day pregnant and people were still denying it because she claimed not to be, but her ass decided to keep denying her pregnancy, posted old pics of herself with a flat stomach and basically had magazines calling people and her fans crazy for “policing her body” and even suggesting she may be pregnant, she even got on IG and called people crazy for saying she was pregnant or had a baby.

This is why I’m sick of celebs using their fandom for bullshit, TWO days ago her boyfriend denied being a father and made a stupid meme or pic with a doll claiming people were crazy for thinking they had a kid and how they need to mind their business and he’s not a dad or some shit.

Guess what…..Jan 6th…..six minutes ago…..she just announced she’s a new mom. 🙄

Celebs post videos and overshare shit all the time for attention and then when the public gives them the attention they want they gaslight or try to pretend they are so private……it makes no sense and now people don’t have to wonder if you’re an idiot, they know 100% now……you’re an idiot.

There is a way to go about living life and maintaining privacy in this industry, the public isn’t entitled to everything that I understand, but to lie and claim you weren’t pregnant AFTER getting photographed publicly with your pregnant belly and when it’s obvious you are…..you either should have stayed silent and then waited to revealed or just said nothing, the audacity to call people crazy for noticing that you as a public figure was pregnant and when you did everything to make it obvious you’re with child but still denied you were pregnant, is DUMB AS HELL!

100% of "name origin" websites that show up when you want to look up a name's origin are complete and totally useless and should be burned to the ground. This is true for English and Portuguese. And I know the problem is not just Google, because ddg also only shows these piece of shit useless AI generated filler clickbait sites that don't even bother to create fake sources for their (sometimes completely absent) claims about the etymology of "Alvarenga" or "Camargo" or whatever. At least English names have Wiktionary, Portuguese etymologies don't show up there

The fact that there’s still one last character I’ve yet to reveal in terms of Duck Duck Goose… kinda fitting considering how I plan for them to be revealed in the actual story

Also fun fact. Duck Duck Goose’s plot and timeline has been being worked on for god who knows how long. I’m sure it’s expected that there’s plot to it but I’m actually 100+ pages into the SUMMARY. Frankly though that’s with some formatting on Google Docs for easier view + not simply summarized like there’s some detail in some parts but DDG’s plot has definitely been going crazy. Also want to thank everyone who’s helped me with the story <3 I couldn’t have made it the best version of itself without y’all <3

Hey I don't have links myself but re: that post about DuckDuckGo: I've seen a different version of the post with links to the CEO's Twitter where he refuted that (and explained why independent outlets fall lower in results) and I don't think it's true. There are a few reblogs in the notes with links. Also many of the alternatives in that list are Google or Bing clones posing as "independent" search engines to lure in people who are cautious about the big names.

Thank you so much for this info! TBH it's a relief because I've been quite happy with DDG, and I will now be on the watch for poser search engines!

My sideblog was tagged by @ancientstone and so I decided to post there AND on my regular blog!

Okay, so, I've been writing and not completing fandom stuff since I was at LEAST 16 which means over twenty years now, but I looked through my folder and I *think* these are my faves in no particular order:

1) Sinbad and the Garden of the Hesperides: a Proteus-heavy sequel to Dreamworks' animated "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas" because Proteus deserves ALL THE LOVE dammit! >:[  (currently over 41k words and unposted but stay tuned because I know the first 4-5 chapters are done at least...)

2) The Sense of Her: a FMA Royai one-shot taking place over multiple points in the series, each scene focused on one of the five senses (currently on AO3)

3) Gunslinger: written in a different narrative style than my usual (Old-West stylized omniscient present vs alternating third-person POV) it's a retelling of Roger Corman's (yes, I know) movie "Gunslinger" starring Beverly Garland that is one of my favorite MST3Ks (yes, I know) but still has really good bones to the story (unposted and honestly barely started but still has some damned good lines if I do say so myself)

4) No Miracle for the Likes of Us/Rebirth/Codename:Teen Idol 'Dite: *CHEATER ALERT!* These are _three_ Venus/Kunzite-centric Sailor Moon fics, but are set in the same no-Stars-AU, with the first detailing the fall of Silver Millennium, the second beginning with the Shitennou being revived immediately after the manga's SuperS arc, and the third being a plot line so heavily intertwined with Rebirth that I haven't decided whether or not to make them one big fic featuring Codename as specified interludes o_O;;; (overall size: *drops face into hands* it... it just keeps GROWING... *sobs*)

5) She-Ra: Princess of Power: a massive retelling of the original She-Ra series as a continuation of the Mike Young 200X animated He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series, with each chapter an "episode" (currently a highly disjointed >57k monster, but the first two "episodes” are on AO3)

Despite the enshittification, one thing I will say in favor of Google's search engine is that unlike DDG it's at least able to retrieve specific tumblr posts when I search for a specific sentence from that tumblr post. If a tumblr post shows up on DDG at all, it will link the blog that the post appeared on at an indeterminate point in the past, but it will always link to the main page of the blog and not to the specific post itself. When I post the first sentence of the post below this one, Google's first result is the root post from OP followed by some random reblogs.

Tumblr search gets zero stars as usual because at no point did it get remotely close when I used the key words I remembered, and when I give it the exact first sentence then it gives me a single result which is not the original post but a screenshot of that post pasted on top of character art with an image description! Given this absurd failure mode, I'm going to assume OP has "don't show my blog in search results" enabled, so I can't give Tumblr 100% of the blame.
