LOG
Expedition into █████████ undertook at ██:██ hours on 05/██/2134, on request of A. Suspicious activity has been reported in the area, suspected to be Spectral in nature. Examiner was explicitly advised against engaging potential subject(s), mission strictly observational in nature. Information was to be gathered on the subject, either visual or in terms of its capabilities.
EQUIPMENT
Expedition, being purely intel-based, was devoid of most of the usual human-made ghost-subduing tools. Examiner was equipped with namesake weapon as means of self-defense, however, but still advised against useage. A ███████ reader (Referred to from here on out as a Spectograph/SG) was provided to help locate subject without engagement, as was regulation ranger gear. Full Vault Gear was not issued but highest levels of coverage of regulation ranger gear was advised.
While Recruit-class eyewear offers streaming capabilities a Theta-crafted recording device was requested specially for this mission based on old Asphodel blueprints, provided by examiner.
______________________________________________
██:██; ██m away from site
Any signals detected on Spectograph were brief blips--no maintained signal. Assumed to be smaller naturalized ghosts in the area; will be recorded but not engaged unless posing a direct threat to safety.
SG blips: 6
______________________________________________
██:██; ██m away from site
Blips continued as usual for a while until a flatline was recorded. No signal occurred for about 4 minutes; then extended moderate-level reading was recorded. Examiner decided to follow this signal as it seemed to be coming from the general direction of the site and seemed to maintain path toward the area.
SG blips prior to flatline: 3
______________________________________________
██:██; █m away from site
Moderate-sized reading began to increase; whether this was due to proximity changes or a bigger, more powerful ghost is inconclusive due to lack of a visual on either subject. No visual was gained; however several odd visuals were experienced. Architecture unfamiliar to the area and not matching with any base architecture was spotted briefly before disappearing after disengaging eye contact. Phantom visuals were as follows:
Columns, belonging to what the examiner can best guestimate as ██████████ in origin.
Tile in some form of pattern, indiscernible from immediate observation due to span of observation.
All observed architecture seemed new, as if erected recently, though the surrounding scenery was still in various states of dilapidation.
Mission was not called off, and examiner pressed on to collect more details. At some point, approximately at ██:██ hours; tactile hallucination was experienced. Examiner felt as though he was wading through approximately 3 inches of water, though upon inspection of the area the ground was dry.
At this point examiner decided to turn back; source of such a grade of cognitive disturbance is likely too large-scale to safely procure a visual on without harming the examiner in the process.

For Honor Event - Part 2- July 20 2019
Eevelion:
An hour, give or take, and a half dozen jugs of water, either quaffed or poured directly on people, later, and everyone had mostly recovered from their ordeals in the drinking contest. With today's contestants back in fighting form Gaius, the ghost, mounted their steed and began the trot toward their next battleground, grabbing a flagpole out of the ground as they marched "COME CHAMPIONS! FOR WE NEAR THE END, THY FINAL CHALLENGE AWAITS!"
Gigi:
Well Braces' arm was feeling a little better, still he didn't know how exactly to feel about being here, maybe it hadn't been such a great idea to come descend from heaven when it was none of his business and was still none of his business ever since he died. Was he doing more harm than good, being here in such a well, rusty state?
He followed onward, only hoping this ghost would be able to be taken out with a fair amount of ease.
Lolo had been on the wayside for most of these matches; and she still wasn't sure how she felt about direct interaction quite yet. She clutched flounce's carrying strap worriedly, hoping this wouldn't be the day she had to use it and if she did....she wouldn't make a fool of herself.
Sera:
Spanx walked with everyone toward the final location. One event left. She hoped it was something she was good at whatever it was.
Leona:
Considering how terrible his luck had been up to now, this last event couldnt be too bad. It seemed like he got the worst out of the way already. And despite being wet, things were almost over. With a grunt, he'd saunter over to the next event.
Zaku:
Obi walks alongside with everyone, and hey, the alcohol to body size distribution thing was true. Ain't that some shit? But hey, looks like they were a step towards completing these trials.
Eevelion:
The ghost would lead his opponents to the bridge over the stream, the prop castle standing on the other side. Bringing his horse to a stop in the middle of the bridge he would turn towards the group and firmly stab the flag into the stone before raising his lance and loudly proclaiming “HERE THIS KNIGHT MAKES HIS FINAL STAND, I DECLARE THAT I WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO PASS THIS BRIDGE, AND WELCOME ALL WHO WOULD CHALLENGE MY CLAIM, MAKE THY GREATEST ATTEMPT TO PASS ME AND SEIZE THIS FINAL VICTORY, OR BE THROWN OFF IN SHAME!”
Eevelion:
Crown bounced up to the front of the bridge, doing a few stretches, she hadn't participated in anything to this point and wanted to at least be there for the finale. She'd wait for everyone to be ready before bounding onto the stone tiles of the bridge ahead of everyone else.
Sera:
Spanx moved forward, carefully keeping an eye on the others, her shield raised. She didn't plan to get across herself, but maybe she could help someone else in that department.
Gigi:
Lolo made a small move forward; Braces ending up farther out than he wanted to be; he'd have to take on the ghost at this distance, wouldn't he....
Leona:
Gakuran was hesitant to charge out front. So he played it safe and only took a few steps. Considering their current position, he might ant to pace himself.
Zaku:
Obi took his first steps towards the bridge and wow was this thing shorter or was he just tall? Definitely the second option. But hey, slow and steady wins the race. Just be careful out there, Crown child.
Eevelion:
The ghost chuckled to himself as his opponents set foot on the bridge, he'd rear his horse back before charging forward, knocking Crown to the side before taking his lance and swinging it around him, knocking Braces and Crown away from him.
Gigi:
And as expected Braces got knocked back; he tried to use the pole he still had to get a swipe at the steed's legs but...it didn't really do much. He scurried off forward, trying to get back to the center some. He might suck but he wasn't going to lose.
Lolo, on the other hand, noticed the ghost was coming in close and decided to....retreat immediately. Not yet.
Sera:
The ghost stops just before hitting Spanx. She lets her shield down a bit and charges forward, giving the ghost a nice tap with her shield hoping to slow him down a bit and catch up to the others to help them get the rest of the way home.
Eevelion:
Crown, having taken a few hits and being nearly thrown off, runs back to the center of the bridge to give herself some defense in case the ghost gets her again. Meanwhile, the ghost having taken a few hits against himself notices the obvious threat of the girl running ahead of the pack, twirling his lance to hit back his attackers before turning and moving up towards her as much as he could.
Leona:
Still recovering from the drinking, pre and post event made him a bit sluggish. He couldn't manage a good hit but at the very least kept it distracted. "The whole points just out running it right?" He questioned near Lolo and Obi. "If we keep its attention maybe we can win." Before being pushed back a bit. Gakuran braces himself to be pushed back and recovers for a follow up.
Zaku:
Well, not like the archangel was expecting some kind of sparring. Blocking with Guinness, the giant of an angel is knocked back, nearing the edge. Hearing Gakuran's suggestion, he nods in response. "Just keep it busy, yeah? Sounds good to me."
Gigi:
Braces hopes moving toward crown and letting the ghost be preoccupied with someone else while he moves unassumingly works. He's surprisingly quiet as he makes the one slow, solitary movement.
Meanwhile, Lolo is hiding behind the angels yet, still unsure if she wants to actually face off against it herself. Flouce is extended to its full, shining form now...just in case. "I think so? It works as far as a strategy goes, I guess..."
Sera:
Knowing she probably could take another one of those hits, and that he can effortless knock everyone down if we all got too close, Spanx decides to move forward instead. She's gotta make sure she can be enough of a distraction for the guys ahead when they get a bit closer.
Gigi:
And Lolo moves so she's right behind the ghost, almost, clutching Flounce nervously. She couldn't do much but buying time? That she could do.
Braces was pretty sure he was in eyeshot of the ghost now, and pressed onward.
Leona:
Gakuran would do his best to tank. His natural roll, as he expected his offense to be lacking in this offense. He was proven right when he attempted another attack and failed. "Whatever you two up there do, don't stop running!"
Eevelion:
The ghost would push back his attackers once more before speeding after Crown, who was running as fast as she could to stay as far away from the ghost as possible, the ghost gives an annoyed grunt as she managed to just stay outside of his reach.
Zaku:
Giving Guinness a good rev, Obi swipes at the ghost.
Aaaand is subsequently knocked back. Welp, he felt good about that hit nonetheless.
Gigi:
Lolo got pushed back by the ghost strike that wasn't targeted at her so much, but she was behind the angel that was targeted and she tried to brace the hit as best as she could with the pole end of Flounce. She moved beside Gakuran accordingly, stopping to stoop the weapon's pole on her thigh as she caught her breath. geez
Sera:
The ghost wizzed passed Spanx and she knew this was her last opportunity to slow him down some. She ran into him with her shield and connected.
Zaku:
Regaining movement, Obi moved towards Gakuran and Lolo, looking ahead to Crown sprinting towards the other side of the birdge. God speed, dotter. God speed.
Leona:
Having been pushed back into Lolo was a set back, but didn't stop him. He moved forward confident they had at least won. Even if he hadn't been able to do much.
Eevelion:
As Crown continued to sprint down the bridge the ghost chased her down like a bat out of hell, he would have caught up with her, had it not been for Spanx's attack, the last in a long line of the contenders doing everything they could to slow him, throwing off their mounts speed by just a hair, a hair that allowed Crown to just manage to reach the finish line. She would throw her hands up in triumph as the ghost planted their lance into the ground in defeat and dismounted.
Gigi:
Braces was just barely behind Crown; but it didn't matter, what was done was done, and he gave a sigh of relief as he himself passed the finish line, raising a fist up at chest level.
Lolo took a few steps forward before sitting down; this was it, the ghost was dismounted. There wasn't much more to really do, was there?
Zaku:
Looking towards the other side of the bridge, Obi smiled warmly as he looked over at the young blonde, hands raised in victory. That's his godkiddo right there.
Leona:
"Good Job you two" Remarked Gakuran to Lolo & Obi. "Crown won it for us but our team work cant be ignored." He even gave an acknowledging nod toward Spanx whom got the final winning blow. But now there was nothing to do but wait and see the result.
Sera:
Spanx shot up in excitement and shouted, "Good job Crown!! I knew you could make it!!"
Gigi:
She gave a small laugh. "Yeah....I guess so." Maybe that was all she had to do, really.
Eevelion:
Crown met Brace's request for a fistbump with a palm to his knuckles, not really supposed to high-five a fistbump but she was distracted, she couldn't believe she got to take part in her first knight games, and even more, she won! That starstruck look on her face only temporarily being broken by the ghost giving off light. The ghost would address the others “WELL DONE CHAMPIONS, FOR VICTORY OR DEFEAT, THOU HATH GIVEN THIS OLD KNIGHT ONE FINAL CHANCE TO TAKE TO THE FIELD AND CLAIM HONOR, FOR THAT I THANK THEE.” He'd fiddle with his helmet some before taking it off, revealing a perfectly round stark black head with round beady yellow eyes “IT'S STRANGE, WITH THIS I FEEL, COMPLETE. He'd look around at the party “ONCE MORE I THANK THEE ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, I FEEL AS IF I AM FINALLY READY TO MOVE ON.” As he said this his body started to fade into motes of light that blew away on the breeze, leaving behind only his lance planted into the bridge.
Zaku:
Huh...that was a feeling that Obi hadn't felt in a while. A job well done. No excessive fighting, no property damage, just getting work done. He gives a small salute to the knight as he dissipates.
"Rest easy."
Gigi:
He didn't even really care that the bump was as halfhearted as it was because....well, it had been a while since he'd seen something like this.
A peaceful passing.
It was such a simple thing, really, but ...he felt his eyes grow warm, and a smile snuck up on him.
"Fare the well, sir gaius." Braces walked over slowly as the light settled.
He planted his own pole nearby, hand lingering on it.
Gigi:
Lolo never really had the opportunity to see something like this; she was still so used to a lot of the blowy-uppy fighty parts of the whole angels and ghosts thing. She knew this sort of thing happened, but theory and practice are a whole other thing....and while the explosions were really cool and all this was...she felt a certain way. She barely knew this ghost, but it ...it felt good to just watch him leave with simple defeat.
She'd never seen a ren faire. How long had he been there before they came? How long had he waited?
She just sat and watched, still on the ground.
"You're welcome," She said, ever so quietly.
Sera:
Spanx released a big sigh of relief while watching the ghost dissipate. He was nice, and she was relieved that they were successful without having to resort to violence. Well her back would disagree on that point.
Eevelion:
Crown would gaze at the ghost's remains as they drifted away before giving a small bow and saying “Rest in peace, good sir knight.” Meanwhile it would seem the handlers had commandeered the van, having parked it at the start of the bridge, honking the horn to signal everyone to get in. Once everyone was gathered around the handler that gave the briefing would congratulate them all “Well done everyone, we're glad to see repenting the ghost went off with... I think only one broken bone? Also possibly some liver damage, you can get that checked when we get back to Psi if you're worried. Anyways, hopefully this was a valuable experience to you all. Now, are we good to get going or does anyone have to do something before we move?” The driver handler tapped their foot on the pedal impatiently, ready to head back to Psi.
Leona:
Content with a job well done, Gakuran gave his silent goodbye to the ghost. Moving back to join the Handlers in the van. He was ready to take a nice relaxing nap and unwind from a long day getting beat.
Gigi:
Damn, that was right, his arm still was sort of borked up. Thankfully he didn't have to do much in the last leg, but now that all the adrenaline was starting to wear off, yeah that hurt. "Maybe?" He gave a bit of a groan as he sat down. Honestly he was hoping he could walk it off, he's dealt with worse dealing with ghosts anyway.....
Lolo took a while getting up and getting Flounce packed up, but as she was running back she gave one final glance ove rher head before finally taking a seat.
"Does that happen a lot?"
Zaku:
He nods in response to the driver's ready to go, waiting for everyone to head in before he could take his seat. He does however give a thumbs up towards Spanx and gives his god daughter a ruffle of the head. "You all did good out there."
Sera:
"Thanks Obi, that means a lot coming from you." She began to shuffle back into the car, still stretching her aching muscles.
Zaku:
Reassuring hand on shoulder for Spanx. Ah, the after ghost fight aches. Granted for Obi that would be couple with a few good city blocks being decimated, but the sympathy is shared. He's an oldboy after all. But hey, she did a good job.
Eevelion:
With everyone seemingly finished up for the day the handler closed the van door and hopped into the passenger seat, shuttling the party back to Psi to rest after a job well done.

For Honor Event - Part 1 - July 13, 2019
Eevelion:
It had been about five minutes since everyone had been loaded into the transport van, jostling as it rolled across the bumpy untamed roads of the wastes while a handler gave a briefing on today's events, having prior only been explained as "Ghost neutralization".
"We're currently about ten minutes off from the Old Renaissance Fairgrounds where we are aware a Ghost has made it's lair, this ghost; Phantom Knight by our logs, or..." They'd take a close look at the log sheet they had brought with them "'Ser Gaius Grimsley von Datenshire III' by it's own proclamation, is on the more passive side, but it's actions inadvertently put the base and travelers at risk. As such it's been decided that it should be neutralized for people's safety. We're currently not recommending direct combat with the ghost, as we don't know it's full capabilities and we'd rather minimize chances of harm coming to anyone, instead we want to use this as an exercise in repenting a ghost through fulfilling it's last desires, since not many have done so. Judging by the ghost's behavior, we assume that engaging it in a 'tournament' has a high probability of fulfilling these desires, so it will be up to you all to put forth your best effort in defeating it in anything it challenges you to."
The driver in the front seat would call out for the handler's attention "About eight minutes now." gripping their papers the handler would turn back to those present "Y-yes, as he said, it's not far away, so if there's anything you need to know ask it now, and I'll try to answer your questions with what intel we have. Also," They'd produce a stack of papers from under their seat "Everyone should take a copy of the log sheet and give it a look as well." They'd hand the stack to whoever was behind them, ready to take any incoming questions.
Leona:
Gakuran, having begrudgingly come along, began to exam the paper work. While understanding the reasoning for not attacking, he'd be concerned with toying with a ghost. Though he had no questions, he was ready for the day to be over. He was here for observation and help, the quicker they did this the faster they'd get back home. "I'm fine with trying to repent the ghost by its means but what if it gets violent? Will we abort and take it down by other means?" Knowing that repenting a ghost could work well or fail about half the time. But he wouldn't be caught without some backup plan. "If so whats our backup?"
Eevelion:
The handler would scratch their chin a bit at the question "Well, if the ghost does go hostile, you are given permission to fight it, if we find it to be considerable risk we'll call you back and retreat back to Psi. We'll just have to play it by ear but we're really hoping it won't come to blows."
Sera:
Spanx reeled back a little as the words "you are given permission to fight it" hit her ears. "Gosh, I sure hope it doesn't come to that. I hope we can give a ghost a nice send-off for once."
Lief:
"I'd rather avoid that too," was the involuntary mutter from Haori. He wasn't one for fighting- or expending more effort on something than absolutely necessary. He still wasn't sure how he'd gotten roped into this, really. But it seemed to be in everyone's best interest, so who was he to complain?
Dezzy:
"If worst comes to worst, and there's an impasse it might be the only choice. But the proposition that there is a way to do so is much, much favorable for the deceased." While Chaqueta wasn't the battle oriented type, she could defend herself decent with humans at the very least. But she hoped it wouldn't be necessary given the group was tasked with a more peaceful repent to be executed. If her brains could be of any use to them, she had more than enough brain cells to spare.
Zaku:
Ah, cramped vehicle space. One of the few things Obi had forgotten about this past century. But here he was; a near seven foot colossus of an archangel sitting in a van surrounded by others. Almost brings him back. Keyword being almost. He simply nods as he looks over the rest of his compatriots. In a way, it was good to finally get some new scenery for him. Felt like ages since he stepped out.
Leona:
At least they were all on the same page. But something still lingered in his brain, a question. "What can we even expect from this? carnival games?" hoping for any easy excursion. Considering the venue, anything was possible.
Eevelion:
"Well, the ghost seems to fancy itself as a type of knight, if you've ever heard the term 'hastilude' that should give you a pretty good idea, they're contests knights would perform in the olden days as a sort of honor thing."
“Alright, if nobody has anymore questions we've just about arrived-” Suddenly the handler was interrupted by the car come to a brisk halt “The fairgrounds.” hopping out of the passenger side door he'd open the door for those in the back “Alright, everyone out, try not to hit your head on the roof Mr. Ravissepto.” Being ushered out, the passengers would be able to get a good look at the faire, weathered old tents being reclaimed by nature, a stone bridge over a small stream with a concrete castle just past, wild grass had been attempting to encroach the center of the faire, but seemed to have regularly been trampled away by footprints. There was currently no sign of the ghost, but enough evidence that something or other frequents this area.
Zaku:
Precaution taken, Mr. Van Driver, sir. However, that precaution would still serve no good as the minute the door opened, the taller angel of the group sat up to, the surprise of no one, slightly hit his head when trying to get up, He says not a word and waits for at least a few of his compatriots to leave the van first before attempting to sit up yet again. The last thing he needed was blocking other peoples way of exiting while he himself was trying to exit. #JustGiantThings, amirite?
Gigi:
Lolo seemed oddly present for once, turning around to listen to each voice intently; it wasn't often she showed up to these training exercises but considering combat wasn't the focus, she was given the option and took it. How nonchalant all the angels seemed about this was fascinating still. that's just how it was in the wastes! Nothing phased these people.....She hopped out eagerly, staying closer to the handler than letting herself roam free.
In the back, though...someone else didn't seem remotely as amused. One green eye was focused more on the ruins outside the van, taking in the lay of the land as the others went on. He'd been through a lot of these, no need to be too attentive; seeing the wreckage of poles, tents in the greenery it kind of brought an odd knot to his stomach. He'd tail behind the rest of the group, his attention still seemingly far beyond the rest of the group with unwarranted tension. (Really, it was a non-combat repentance, this was what he liked seeing as a human--)
Sera:
Spanx took a moment to stretch after stepping out of the vehicle. It seemed quiet for a place haunted by a ghost that was causing trouble for people. "I hope it doesn't take too long to find this guy. Anyone have any ideas on how we should lure him out?"
Eevelion:
Crown hopped out of the back of the van, taking in the sights and the smells of the faire. This. Was. Great! She'd always loved stories of knights. And now she was standing in a place where real knights did battle! At least that's what she got out of it, her listening comprehension might have gone a bit out the window when she heard the word 'knight'. But either way she was beaming and happy to be here.
Dezzy:
Chaqueta got a small chuckle out of Obi still hitting his head regardless of warning. Once she was out she took a quick lay of the land. She could only imagine how much fun this dinky little faire was many, many years ago. It never ceases to amaze her how quickly all of this transpired, even in the wake of a festival. Tragedy th as no mercy it seemed, but still, she couldnt help but give a sad sigh.
Lief:
Haori slumped out of the vehicle and blinked lazily as he took a gander at the surrounding area. There was still no telling what that knight-ghost would ask of them, really. Knight tournaments had various events, right? Maybe they would end up going through all of them before they were off the hook....great.
"Weirdly quiet," He mumbled
Zaku:
Alright was that everyone? That looked like everyone. Taking his turn to get out of the car, Obi took in the air and looked over the fairegrounds. Damn...it'd been a hot minute since the archangel had seen something like this. Places that were supposed to be filled with joyous occasion and enjoying the moment. All of that merriment...gone. He frowns slightly at the ruined grounds, but continues onward nonetheless. They had a job to do, and hopefully, a peaceful repent to pull off.
Leona:
Gakuran trailed behind, making sure to stick behind the group. He was uneasy about their task but was hopeful about succeeding. Though, the new faces made him wonder if they would work well together. He would followed behind Obi and commented to Haori "Quiet, but lets enjoy it while we can and take time to prepare".
Eevelion:
No sooner did Spanx ask how to find the quarry than from a distance came a hearty “HAHA!”, with a loud whinny and the beat of hooves approached a stout (aka, short, real manlet like) figure clad in heavy black armor on the back of an impressive ghostly stallion. Slowing to a trot in front of the party they would proclaim “HARK KNAVES, FOR THOU HAST ENTERED THE DOMAIN OF THOUST TRUELY, SER GAIUS GRIMSLY VON DATENSHIRE, THIRD OF HIS NAME. FOR WHAT PURPOSE DOST THOU TRESPASS UPON THESE GROUNDS, SPEAK QUICKLY, OR I SHALL HAVE THEE DRAWN AND QUARTERED!” The handler would bury their face in their hand before addressing the group “Alright, here's your quarry, try to calm them down, if it gets too hot we'll make the call, good luck, me and the driver will be watching from nearby.” With their piece said the two of them would walk off, staying within viewing distance.
Lief:
"Interesting," Haori said under his breath. "Uh, which of us is spokesperson, exactly?" This was a little louder, enough for everyone to hear.
Haori didn't see himself as capable enough to speak for the entire group....or smooth enough. How were knights supposed to talk? He couldn't get into a character on command.
Gigi:
Well, something was coming back to Braces, but he wasn't sure what it was exactly...none of this crew really seemed to get what was going on at a ren faire though. He crossed his arms, grimacing...he may actually have to intervene?
Zaku:
Oh woah, right to it, eh? Uh...alright, Obi will step in. Not too far, but a good half-step at best.
Sera:
Spanx replies to the knight meekly, "Apologies Sir Gaius, we, uh, didn't mean to trespass. We're here to, um, what was that word again? Halibut."
Zaku:
"Greetings, Sir." He speaks up alongside Spanx. "We are....travelers of sorts here to...seek why you reside on these grounds."
Gigi:
Braces pinched his nose. This was horrible. He wasn't sure how much of this he could take. He looked almost close to tears, even.
Dezzy:
For the event, Chaqueta wore simple dress and she gave a polite curtsy toward the knight as the others spoke.
Lief:
Haori tugged at his collar. The whole...whatever he was wearing...it was a little tight across the chest, and stuffy. Not like the loose clothes he normally wore. This whole thing felt like a stageplay, which- as far as he understood- wasn't far off from what a ren faire actually was. He remained carefully quiet, aware that any snarking could easily get them all in big trouble right now. Time and a place for everything.
Leona:
Gakuran followed suite with the group by acknowledging the knight with a nod. But he didn't feel the need to respond verbally. He instead would analyze the ghost size and environment to get an idea of what might happen. Gakuran would glance over at Brace and respond "Theres no need to cry, we'll be fine"
Eevelion:
The ghost would think about Spanx's comment before realizing what they meant “HA, WHAT A JEST, YOU MEAN THE HASTILUDES! THOU SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED EARLIER, IF THOU WISHES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GAMES OF HONOUR THEN SO BE IT, WE SHALL MAKE A TOURNAMENT OF IT!” He'd rear his horse before trotting toward another section of the fairgrounds “COME, THE ARENAS ARE READY, AND BE SURE TO BRING THY STEED.” At this he'd point his lance towards their 'steed', the van they had arrived in, the keys still in the ignition.
Lief:
"Our- our what." Haori deadpanned. "Are we- does the van have a name? Does it need a- never mind." He sighed. He needed to learn to roll with the punches better.
Gigi:
Well, that went...well enough, despite the lack of decent acting. Braces raised a brow in disbelief though as his gaze panned from the van back to the ghost. He knew the not-yet-passed had some issues with denial, but .....it'd been a while since he really had to deal with it.
Dezzy:
As amusing as the ghost was, Chaqueta couldnt help but make a quick note of how the thing registered the van as a horse. "Seems like his perception of reality is different from ours, she whispered. We can use this to our advantage? I wonder to what extent it goes to. We could pass off makeshift props as the real thing if so."
Gigi:
"That'd be ideal, actually," Braces blinked, his volume matching Chaqueta's. "Angels shouldn't lose track of their own weapons, but that can save us from causing any unecessary harm. Nice catch."
Eevelion:
Crown was starstruck, a real life knight! And they even challenged them to knightly games, today was surely going to be amazing! She broke out of her trance momentarily when the knight headed off, jogging a bit to keep toe with them.
Leona:
Maybe the Knight was looking at the raw horsepower of the Van, but that was beside the point. However, it seemed like the rest of the group was already planning. Gakuran would then focus his attention on Chaqueta "That is a good point, I'll keep that in mind." Since it was a strategic advantage, Gakuran complied and headed toward the van. However being much taller than most people also had disadvantages. He'd struggle a bit till everyone else caught up to crown and relocate their steed. Good thing he didn't have his armor on, otherwise the knight my mistake this as a joust.
Zaku:
Obi nods along with the group and follows along with Crown.
Sera:
Spanx blushes a bit after realizing she misspoke. Halibut is a fish you idiot how could you mix that up she mutters to herself. She shuffles behind Obi as he follows Crown. The closest thing to a tree she could hide her shame behind.
Zaku:
Shhhh, your shame shall be resolved by the tree, young Spanx. All is forgiven, child.
Gigi:
Following the hunch suggested from Chaqueta, Braces made an ever so slight detour to dislodge a rod of what he assumed was some sort of metal since it was still intact. He was no lance user, but it'd come in handy and he had no idea how well old faire ruins would be stocked, anyway. who knew who raided these things for weapons even if they were props.
Lolo followed after, nearly sprinting to keep up; she was simply observing at this point since she was...probably too young to remember this phenomenon.
Eevelion:
Gaius led the group to what seemed like a long track, a pole stretched along the middle “AND SO WE COME TO OUR FIRST CHALLENGE, CHOOSE THY CHAMPION, FOR UPON THIS FIELD WE ENGAGE IN THE JOUST!” Having said his piece, he positioned himself at the far end of the track. Seems like, as Gakuran was afraid of, someone would have to duel him in a Joust, but another question remained, who would be the 'horse'?
(One person must participate as the Jouster, another must participate as a Driver)
Leona:
Unknowingly Gakuran signed up to be the steed by driving the Van. He'd show up at what looked like a parking space; without the knowledge that this was his starting point. Having been away from the group, he didn't catch what they were doing. So he'd sit in the van and observe. "I wonder whats going on out there, did I hear 'Joust' "
Dezzy:
"Eyepatch here," she said while point towards Braces. "Seems like he'd make a good jouster. He got the pole and the beef to handle it"
Sera:
"A joust sounds like a pretty intense first challenge. I might be able to stay on pretty well but I don't know about knocking him over. Maybe someone else should..." Spanx hoped she didn't sound like she was putting this off on others. She was trying not to let her nerves get the best of her but a real life ghost, even a small one, was still intimidating up close.
Lief:
"I weigh like as much as a cat," Haori provided flatly.
Gigi:
Braces looked over at Chaqueta with a sour face. "I got this just in case! .....Geez, I guess if someone had to though, I could....,"A hand paused on his chest before working at the pole, his suspenders not in their usual spot.
Eevelion:
Crown would stand on one foot as she gave Braces a little cheer “You can do this Mr. Braces! I know from experience that you're plenty strong!”
Gigi:
He gave a sigh. "Fine, you guys don't look like you've even so much as eaten a turkey leg with a fool jingling beside you anyway," He hopped up on the van's roof, giving a tap once he finally got up there. Sure was weird to do this on a car roof, but it wasn't like training or even finding mustangs was a good idea either. "Ready when everyone else is."
Dezzy:
"I have no idea what that means, but thank you anyway!" She said clapping her hands together and giving him a sarcastic smile. She took a couple steps back to where Crown was and would cheer for Braces and Gakuran from the sidelines.
Eevelion:
With his opponent in position, the ghost would loudly proclaim “MAY THE FIRST ROUND BEGIN! CHARGE!” Readying his lance he'd Charge towards the two, Gakuran would pull the car Forward, and Braces would Block atop it.
Despite Braces' preparing for the attack, the Ghost's lance manages to find purchase, hitting him and setting off his balance on the car, though he manages stop grounded.
Sera:
Spanx roars from the crowd, "Hang in there Braces!! You can do it!"
Zaku:
"Give it your all, you two!" Obi shouts alongside a swell.
Gigi:
That'd hit harder than Braces was anticipating; he tried to use the pole's shape to his advantage to grind the attack back but, that kind of backfired, the ghost being too strong and pushing him back.
Dezzy:
Chaqueta winced, she felt that. Still, she continued to clap for the angel.
Leona:
How did he get roped into this. Sadly it was too late to back down, so he braced himself for impact. Thankfully the vans weight helped disperse some of the brunt force. "You okay up there?"
Eevelion:
The commotion seemed to be drawing a bit of a crowd, fauna ghost starting to congregate around the arena, the ones present perking up at Gaius' strike against Braces.
Gigi:
"I think so? Dealt with worse. Whatever," He waved it off, though the other guy couldn't see him doing it. he rubbed his arm. Christ, that smarted.
Eevelion:
Circling around the arena, Gaius would CHARGE toward his opponent again, as Gakuran rounded the corner Braces would prepare to DEFEND, and as the two were about to meet... Gakuran stepped on the gas, BOOSTING towards the collision.
In the collision Braces defended valiantly, but the Ghost's strike was still too strong, breaking his guard and nearly tossing him off the van.
Gigi:
A "God FUCKING damnit!!" could be heard, ponytail flapping in the wind as he was doubled-over on the roof.
Leona:
Gakuran simply looked up and covered his face with the brim of his hat. "Good grief" maybe luck wasn't on their side today. "I'm guessing you are still ali- dead right?"
Gigi:
"Don't remind me," he covered his eye, groaning. too soon. "God I wanna end this man's whole career."
Eevelion:
As they circled again, Gaius ever so slightly shifted the lance is preparation to BLOCK Braces' incoming STRIKE, as the two get closer Gakuran once again BOOSTS.
As they collided, Braces' lance hit the ghost's, but not with enough force to break their guard, the magnitude of the collision rebounding to him and hurting his arm.
For one final time the two teams circled around the ring, the ghost preparing to strike, Braces, fatigued from the blows he had taken he was scarce able to take another hit and was knocked off into the mud.
Gigi:
Cue a very comedic roll off. he's gonna be fine, he's an angel, who cares. at least he didn't get stabbed in the eye again.
Dezzy:
Big oof. Maybe those muscles were just for show in the end. "Maybe one of us will do better in a different event."
Leona:
Gakuran having felt the rumble of a body, stopped and started to reverse. Once he reached Braces, he'd exit out of the back to help him into the Van and out of there. "Hey we did our time, you need a smoke?"
Lief:
"Brutal," Haori winced. He was glad it wasn't him up there. He'd have been catapulted in a single hit. If anything speed was his game, but he was less experienced than any angel in their group might be. He was beginning to wonder if He would even be any use here.
Eevelion:
The ghost would trot up to Braces' side with a chuckle “A VALIANT EFFORT, I APPLAUD YOUR BRAVERY FACING ME. DO NOT FRET YOUR FAILURE FOR LONG MY FRIEND, THE DAY IS YOUNG AND THE CHALLENGES WILL BE MANY.” Rearing the horse away he would lead the group towards their next trial, the interested wild ghosts following behind like a group of fans.
Gigi:
He waved a hand, grimacing. "god, no. I'll pass." He wasn't a smoker by any stretch of the imagination, and all he could think about is how much fucking mud he was getting all over the van. At least the ghost seemed a good sport about it all. He'd hate to be dealing with an angry one right now, all things considered.
Zaku:
Yikes. That look like it hurt.
Eevelion:
Gaius led the group to a fence, he would dismount before pointing to several targets in the distance “BEHOLD, FOR THIS WILL BE THY NEXT CHALLENGE, A SIMPLE ARCHERY CONTEST, CHOOSE THY CHAMPIONS MOST DEFT OF AIM.” He would pick up a bow and arrow near the fence, preparing himself for the contest.
(As many players as want can participate in this at once)
Gigi:
Braces groaned and grabbed his arm, watching this all unfold. At least archery had less risk to leave anyone in a state of dishevelment. "Don't look at me, guys."
Dezzy:
"I'll offer myself as tribute," wow what an archaic hunger games reference.
Sera:
"You can do it Chaqueta! Get us a win!"
Lief:
Haori bit back a snort at the poor joke, but rolled a shoulder to loosen himself up and stepped forward as well. He wasn't the best shot, but he wasn't bad either by any means. The more the merrier...or something. "You have my bow," he offered pulling one from- did he just...pick that off the ground?
Leona:
Having been battered around by the jousting, he declined "Someones gotta watch the Van, this guys only one good arm."
Eevelion:
“THEN THESE ONES SHALL BE MY OPPONENTS” boomed the ghost, wasting no time nocking the arrow and pointing it towards the middle target and letting it fly, watching as it embedded into the middle ring. “HA! A FINE SHOT TO START THE SHOW.” Meanwhile, a lizard like ghost had manned a scoreboard, changing a score meant to represent Gaius to 4.
Zaku:
"Kick his ass, Chaqueta!" A bit overenthusiastic there Obi, but the rally cry is definitely appreciated.
Lief:
Haori took a step forward, readying his bow first. If nothing else, he at least knew how to shoot archery. He might be a little rusty, but...he pulled into stance and made sure not to twist his elbow. His eyesight wasn't so good these days...still, the close target looked pretty clear. that ought to make for a decent shot. He lined it up and let fly- thwip went the arrow as it smacked into the bullseye mark.
"That's a pass," He sighed in relief. Not nearly so impressive as Gaius, but a good start.
Dezzy:
Chaqueta was feeling a bit bold, so she grabbed a spare rickety bow and arrow and launched the thing with as much confidence and vigor as a professional. She managed to hit the outer most ring, but missed the next time she fired.
Still, that was better than the critical failure she was expecting having never done something like this before so she was satisfied.
Eevelion:
As the Score Ghost changed Haori's score to 3 and Chaqueta's to 1, Gaius, feeling cocky after his last shot decided to be so bold as to fire on the farthest target, as he pulled back and released the arrow he was... a bit disappointed as it landed nowhere near the target, his entourage of ghosts seemingly disappointed as well.
Gigi:
Braces tried not to be too loud but he was definitely on the edge of his seat and pretty happy about all this before wincing and recoiling back to clutch his arm more.
Lief:
Haori was also feeling a little bolder. He nocked an arrow and let fly toward the middle target....the arrow fell short. He could practically hear the sad little wop wop wop noise as it clattered to the ground. "Welp," he muttered. He'd just have to put it all in for the last round, then.
Zaku:
A soft "Yes" along with a casual fist pump comes from Obi. He's a proud tree.
Eevelion:
Crown waved a ratty old flag she found to the side, cheering on her team's archers.
Dezzy:
Chaqueta kept her hands steady and breath held in until she released her arrow soaring through the distance and NAILING a bullseye on her target.
She jumped a little, surprising herself and was giddy as a horse, stomping her feet hooves in celebration.
Zaku:
Another fist pump. Fuck ye FUCK YE-
Ooop, don't get too excited there, Obi. Keep chill.
Eevelion:
The score ghost would reluctantly bump Chaqueta's score up to 4. Gaius meanwhile, deciding to be safer with his shot went only for the close target, firing an arrow and sticking it directly in the middle, 2 points. “AND SO I END THIS CONTEST WITH SIX POINTS, LET US SEE HOW YOU FARE, MY FOES.”
Gigi:
A soft "nice!" can be heard in the background.
Dezzy:
Chqueta waved off to the others, still proud of her second attempt before, recklessly aiming another arrow for a slightly more ambitious score. However, her arrogance would be her downfall as the arrow completely missed the target.
"Ah shoot." Now she felt embarrassed. She looked away from the others, too shy to see their, she assumed, disappointment.
Lief:
Haori aimed at the close target again. Two shots meant a better chance for points, right...? God, he hadn't done this in forever.
His fingers slipped as he loosed the first arrow- it came close but ended up sailing past the target without hitting it. The second....thunked into the ground several feet away.
"Ah, for shame. How ever will I face my people." He droned. He wasn't all that upset, he hadn't been expecting to win anyway.
Gigi:
Braces rubbed at his eyepatch, that was rough.
Eevelion:
The Score Ghost snickered a little as it saw it didn't have to change the scores. “ANOTHER VALIANT EFFORT MY FRIENDS, IT WOULD SEEM THE WINDS WERE NOT IN YOUR FAVOR, PERHAPS YOU SHALL FIND GLORY IN OUR FUTURE ENGAGEMENTS, NOW COME, WE HAVE COMPLETED HALF THE TRIALS.” Without another word he mounted his steed again and head toward a tent, beckoning the others to follow.
Leona:
"Looks like we werent the only ones with bad luck." Chimed Gakuran, with a beer in hand. "Though, you alright eyepatch?"
Lief:
Haori shuffled back in a slouched state, not particularly bothered. This ghost seemed really docile, honestly. Perhaps it had only been hassling travelers because it wanted people to do these events with. It was possible it would be satisfied just as long as they spent time with it so it could play. Kind of like a kid...
Then again, there was really no knowing for sure until the end.
Gigi:
"Aye, tis but a flesh wound," he replied to Gakuran, looking a little sour. "What's that ghost gonna do to me? Kill me again?"
Zaku:
Oh they're moving? Looks like they're moving. Obi follows.
Lief:
Haori stifled a laugh as he overheard the remark.
Leona:
"Probably but i think its having much more fun kicking our asses. " At least they were trying and didn't have to win. That made it a little less sour. "Kudos on giving it a warm up though"
Dezzy:
"Kinda wish the plague would come take me out I'll say," she joked. Even if she had failed she couldn't help but smile through it all. Genuinly it was pretty fun.
Lief:
"Hey, you kicked MY ass at least. You see that shot that fell short? Awful." He offered a crooked grin as he leaned against a fence post. "I thought I'd remember how to do this shit better, but I guess I'm getting old or something."
Zaku:
"Hey, you made some damn good shots though." Obi complimented her, giving the reporter a pat on the shoulder.
Gigi:
He was following the rest of the group, begrudgingly this time, really hoping there wasn't arm wrestling involved for the next stunt. "Thanks I guess, I just wish I could've done better, is all...," he groaned, scratching his hair with his uninjured arm.
Sera:
"Everyone did pretty good. Don't feel dismayed." Though having not contributed yet she has no right to judge anyone else's performance.
Eevelion:
As the party continued on to their next destination they would enter a tent and be greeted by a number of oaken barrels piled up in the back, radiating a strange menacing aura. “AND SO WE COME TO OUR THIRD CHALLENGE, A SIMPLE DRINKING GAME, WE WILL DO ROUNDS OF DRINKS, THE ONE WHO STANDS WHEN ALL OTHERS HAVE FALLEN SHALL BE PROCLAIMED THE VICTOR, PICK THY STRONGEST OF CONSTITUTION, ALL CHALLENGERS WELCOME! He'd plop down on a wooden bench, his armor creating a thunk despite his small stature.
Sera:
Spanx steps forward confidently, "I sat out the other two contests so it's at least my turn!"
Dezzy:
Despite her hubris, Chaqueta appricated the reassurances being given. Though soon as they entered the tent Chaqueta immediately lite up. BOOZE. ITS BEEN MONTHS SINCE SHE LAST HAD ALCHOHOL.
Zaku:
"...I'm with her." He's tall enough, might as well test some sort of body alcohol theory.
Gigi:
"You guys have at it."
Braces didn't seem eager to get involved in this one either, even if alcohol would help dull the pain.
Leona:
Having got a head start, Gakuran was game. He'd catch up to the crowd and join up. "At least this seems more fair"
Lief:
Haori waved his hand. "Not like I haven't been blackout drunk once or twice by this point in life anyway. Go big or go home," he smirked.
Eevelion:
The ghost entourage would bring up the first round of drinks “ALL RIGHT MY FRIENDS, I WISH YOU LUCK, AND BOTTOMS UP!” Raising the mug to his face he would chug the drink down, it evidently hit him pretty hard, already having him look pretty wet behind the ears.
Zaku:
Oh damn, ale. When the fuck was the last time Obi drank? It feels like a hot minute, but a challenge was a challenge. Taking the frothy mug, he follows suit with the ghost and chugs it down no sweat. Hmm. Ain't bad. He was waiting for it to be at least a bit off given the state of the world, but that's a solid mug right there. He slams it back down with ease.
Leona:
"This is the best thing to happen all day" Taking the round with nothing more than an easy gulp. "Not bad, give me another".
Dezzy:
Sweet alcoholism take her down. She pounded the drink down like a champ and knocked over her empty cup with gusto, "Fuck yeah, hit me again!"
Sera:
Spanx downs her drink. "This goes down surprisingly smooth for something that's been sitting abandoned for god knowns how long."
Lief:
Haori sniffed his drink. He had to be honest, his tolerance was fine, but something was just off about this stuff. And not in a rotten food kind of way. Well, no point chickening out now.
"Bottoms up," He mumbled, and tilted his head back to drain the mug.
...and then he continued tilting until he was on the floor. On his back. Groaning sickly. "Okay, I'm. Done." He choked- just before passing out. Something wrong indeed.
Eevelion:
As the entourage brought the second tray Gaius snatched a mug and downed it, as he came back down he slapped the table with raucous laughter “HAHAHA! SEEMS I'VE FORGOTTEN HOW TO HOLD MY DRINK, ANOTHER HIT LIKE THAT AND I DOUBT I'LL BE STANDING!” he would continue laughing and shaking the table as his opponents took their drinks.
Leona:
Spoke too soon, as this drink was one too many. This one combined with the other would be his undoing. After finishing, he'd gracefully lay down and let everyone else suffer instead.
Gigi:
Well, this wasn't looking good. Braces was grabbing his mouth in his hand, looking around. Hm.....
"Dude you shouldn't have had that beer before you went into the tent." he finally muttered as Gakuran went onto the ground.
Zaku:
Obi takes another hearty swig of that ale. The fizzyness is startin' to get to him just a teensy bit, but other than that, it's a damn good mug.
Leona:
Gakuran having drunk too much could only mutter back "Worth it" knowing that he was gonna fail anyway but free alcohol was free.
Dezzy:
Her hubris is rmtruely her down fall, for even with a side of bread Chaqueta was shitfaced. She didn't really care, hiwever, it seemed from his giggly she was.
"Heeheheheheh...." She slumped against Obi, unable to support herself. " oops a daisy I did a fucky wuckyyy... You smell good."
Zaku:
Anotha' one? Anotha one. And the alcoholic content is starting to get to him, but he's still got things under control. Hopefully.
Eevelion:
As the table started to clear, the bartender ghosts brough out 3 more drinks, Gaius grabbing his and chugging "HAHA, BARELY HIT ME, SEEMS IM GETTING MY SECOND WIND!"
Sera:
Spanx manages to finish her last drink and mumbles out an, "I'm sorry, that was just a little too much," and falls forward, snoring into her arm.
Zaku:
The sight of a shitfaced chaqueta though did earn a snicker from the archangel as he held onto her shoulder.
"You did the best you could, dear."
Eevelion:
One more tray, two drinks, Gaius took his mug and clinked it to Obi's "CHEERS MY FRIEND! THIS WILL BE THE DECIDING FACTOR!" Tilting it back he'd chug, then slump his head onto the table, he was done.
Gigi:
Casually, Someone was popping in and tampering with the ale. The ghosts didn't even seem to notice, nice.
Zaku:
Obi takes that third mug and drinks it whole, slamming the mug down after another good chug and looking back at his ghastly competitor, a glint of determination burning in the archangels eyes.
Gigi:
The culprit clenches his fist quietly, trying to remain unseen yet.
Dezzy:
"Woo woooo~" Chaqueta drunkenly cheered on. God was Obi always this sexy?
Eevelion:
And so, Obi stood alone among a pile of drunk nearly-to-fully passed out people, the sole victor. The attendant ghost's bringing out pitcher's of water to help bring people back to their feet, this would be a good time to give everyone a breather.
Sera:
Spanx wakes up, eats some of the bread and proceeds to talk, "Slo, diwd hwe hwin?"
Lief:
a splash of water got Haori back to his senses. He wasn't happy about being damp, but the glass offered to him for drinking helped clear up the dizziness surprisingly well. What was in that ale, he wondered. Normally he could knock back a good clip of shots of something nice and strong before he needed to quit.
"Spooky," he sighed, and stretched. Looked like everyone but Obi had seen the same fate. "At least we finally took one, I gather?"
Eevelion:
Crown would cheer Obi on “Congrats Obi! You got the first win of the day! Though I didn't realize drinking contests were really a knightly thing, maybe I should be taking notes.”
Zaku:
Alright, up you go, little lady. Obi picks up Chaqueta princess style, helping up Spanx along the way. And Haori as well.
Gigi:
"Its more a thing people do to flex on each other, but I figure it works for shows of manliness or whatever as well," Braces interjected as he stretched himself out--arm still hurt but it felt good to not be crouched down after a nice victory.
Zaku:
Oh and cheers from Crown as well? This day was already made.
Zaku:
"Honestly? Neither did I. Think it's some sort of valor thing. But I'll definitely count it as a victory."
A head ruffle for you, godkid.

R Tizfake Testing Event - June 8, 2019
Eevelion: As the Research department at HQ opened it's doors for the testing, all volunteers would be ushered through the halls by a number of goggled researchers and through a set of security doors. On the other side of the doors our attendees would find themselves in a large room, mostly empty aside from a large blast door on the opposite end with a catwalk above, as well as a one-sided window, presumably for the researchers to watch the test. As the last of the group was corralled into the room the door would close behind them, leaving them with dead silence before the event truly started.
Dezzy: Outside of the car rides she was employed to chauffeur demons, Lessy had to say she rarely interacted with demons. Even more rare did she or Cab see them outside of the human disguises, so she was trying her best not to stare. Emphasis on "trying". Occassionally she would try to sneak glances of their horns or compare their colorful skin tones to hers. Still, she kept hands mostly to herself, putting herself on idle, rolling on the balls of her legs.
"Man, I don't think I've ever been in this department yet, let alone the others." Lessy still considered herself new to this world, however, being here did give her a positive sense of purpose.
Gigi: Necktie was PR why did he need to be dragged in for testing--his ear had been chewed off about something to the effect of 'yearly physicals', or was it 'counter-investigative journalism'? God, he couldn't remember now, it was like his brain turned to static whenever research was mentioned as of late. Still his posture was composed as ever, chest out, chin up, customer service face on.
There were, unfortunately, humans here, as he would be made painfully aware.
"New arrival, I see?" get out, get out of here.
Dezzy: "More or less. I'm used to working from my own mobile office and driving you guys around." Still swaying on her heels, she glanced up at the ceiling as it was rude to stare (though on could argue not making eye contact was equally rude)Cab would occasionally work on their aim in infranty, but Lessy didn't know that. Or she guessed, maybe she did since she was spontaneously better at darts since they joined HQ? Hmm.
Gigi: He tapped a gloved hand to his chin, staring upward. "I think ive heard of a chauffeur somewhere around in the files," He tucked that hand behind his back just as quickly, offering his other for a shake. "Welcome to Research, then! I'm not from this department, though, so...no tours."
Dezzy: It took a moment for Lessy to realize Necktie had offered his had, to which she quickly grabbed perhaps too much vigor. "Thanks!"
Taking back her own gloved hand she gave a cheesy grin and a salute." Yep that's me! Need a ride just holla at ya girl." She winked while making a 'call me' gesture with her hand. "Names Sleeveless Hoodie by the way. Though everyone just calls me Lessy."
Gigi:His return shake was firm in kind. "I'll keep that in mind," he smiled. he had his own valets, but ok. Bringing up his name might bring some unwanted gossip his way, actually, now that he thought of it--jeez, why was he forced to do this anyway?
"Pleasure to meet you, Mx.Sleeveless. People are probably going to be yelling 'Necktie' at me, so let's just get that out of the way so there's no confusion, yes?" He gesticulated his arms around, as if trying to stir some nebulous concept around. "My appearance here doesn't mean anything."
Dezzy: Lessy didn't really recall Necktie as the owner of Diamond Jail on first name alone, let alone appearance. Her curiosity did get the better of her as her eyes wandered down to his namesake. "Necktie huh? So like, your tie thingy turns into a weapon for real??"
She scratched at the side of her head, perplexed by idea of clothing becoming something other than what it was. " Like, we my dad was trying to get me into the family buisness he told me a few things about all this. I thought he was fucking with me! It just sounds so dumb... Underwear transforming into weapons."
Zaku: "Mhmm, yup. Yeah, I'm walking right in. It'll probably be for, I 'unno, two or so hours? Money's on the table if you want to order out, just...don't do anything crazy, alright? Ok...love you too."
Ending the call, the blue haired demon did a quick run back of his hair, a tick of sorts he kept for as long as he's known. Pack's interactions with the demon community was slightly sparce to say the least. He'd hope with how downlow he had been, Guillory would practically be a new name of sorts. But hey, he had been cooped up for a while, and Netti had doted on him not being a "cooped up bachelor", so here he was.
Gigi: "It's not quite underwear, though that's a common misconception--actually it felt more common back when I was younger," He let out a laugh. "But yes, it can do that--actually I think I should be,..."
He took a moment to get the eldredge knot untied with one hand, stretching the fabric taut and a split second later, it took on a bright blue glow, shifting into its two-pronged form.
"We're supposed to have our weapons ready, right?" He called up to the balcony, hoping one of the goggled cronies up top would like, give him a thumbs-up or something.
Eevelion: In response to Necktie's question came a crackle from an intercom as a familiar voice (to Necktie at least) came over the system “You can have your weapon out right now if you waaant, but you don't need to, you'll know when you'll want them.” then another crackle as it turned off.
Zaku: Ah. New company. Welp, time to mingle I guess.
"Evenin'."
Dezzy: Lessy's eyes went wide and sparkly at the sight before her! Magic is real!! Well, she knew that already to an extent but seeing it happen was amazing. "WHOOA HO HO! That's seriously the most fucking awesome shit I've seen in, like, ever! "
She then leaned in close and whIspered, "And I've seen some weird shit with LSD."
Popping back into her place and still juiced from Necktie summoning Eldgredge she noticed the other demon in the room, skipping any formalities. "What about you? What does your thing turn into? Can I see please!"
Zaku: Woah, hello there personal space. Welp, he ain't one to be a party pooper. He already spent most of his early years doing that.
"Uh, yeah, sure thing." Clipping off his name sake, tossed it in the air and let it transform, catching The Fix taking it's form, the blade crackling a bit.
Gigi: Necktie gave a shrug, leaning on his weapon; there wasn't much he could do with tile but at least it functioned the way any other staff was supposed to. His attention was turned to the other, noting the fanny pack and its usage as a transformation catalyst. Spear and a sword, both melee.....This was going to be ugly wasn't it.
"Well, I certainly hope whatever we're facing doesn't need a gun to take care of," He laughed, though his smile seemed somewhat strained.
Zaku: "Right there with you." Pack chimed in. Ah, nervous laughing. He too knew this art of deception.
Dezzy: Lessy stumbled back a few steps when Pack threw his weapon in the air. It was like seeing fireworks, kinda! She was in awe,"So cooooool...."
At the mention of fire arms Lessy snapped out of her starstruck trance, " oh! I have a gun" from the inside of her hoodie she pulled out her silencer, twirling it in her hand before catching it. She seemed to have surprised herself at the trick but said nothing about it. Cab must of learned it, the dork. "I got your backs."
Eevelion: Now that everyone had had a bit to get situated, the proctor would finally show themselves as Robe entered from a door on one side of the catwalk, a wooden easel and canvas in one arm, and her other hand interlocked with a sort of... paint bucket with arms and feet, though it's color scheme obviously denoted it as a ghost. The catwalk would clank as the pair made their way to the center, where Robe would set up the easel behind them and then turn to face the group before clearing her throat and addressing them loudly “Hellooooo everyone! Thank you all so much for coming, the test will beginning shortly, but before then I'd like to make doubly sure everyone is aware of the rules, and to answer a few questions you might have.”
Rummaging through her pockets she'd grab a copy of the flier that she had used to invite everyone here, reading it aloud “First, the rules. One, you can't attack me or my friend here.” She'd gesture to the paint bucket ghost at this “Two, try not to hit each other for no reason, if you hit someone cause they're blocking your shot, I don't care, just don't be dumb about it. Three, I say when the test begins and ends, when I say the test is over you put away your weapons, no questions asked. And four, aside from a few exceptions, nobody leaves while the test is in progress. Aside from those I also get to add new rules as I see fit.” She'd crumple the paper then shove it back in her pocket “And with that out of the way, let's take a few questions.”
Gigi: Oh, that explained a lot as to how he got dragged here, specifically. Necktie lifted a hand up with a fluid motion, as if he was some sort of aristocrat hailing a cab.
Eevelion: Robe would lean on the railing of the catwalk as she looked at Necktie "Hi Mr. Necktie! Good to see you getting out of the club, anyways, you got a question?"
Gigi: "yes, I kind of got forced out of my hidey-hole, but it's always a pleasure to help you out, Miss Robe!" This time the smile was actually genuine, though nobody really could tell, aside from his tone changing just a bit. "We look a little, oddly balanced, do you have any protocols in place in case we get ah, just absolutely punched to death like a common incel?
Eevelion: Robe giggled at Necktie's question as she dangled her arm over the side “Yeah your teams looking a little bare, and I thought your chances of winning were low even with like, double your current size, but don't worry though, if we notice you taking a beating we'll call for a break to get you out of the arena, only slightly worse for wear!”
Gigi: "Alright, thank you," He didnt seem any relieved at this, seems as though he just called himself a common incel indirectly. Unfortunate. Oh well, if it meant helping Chaleco's kid out, he was happy to. He took a deep breath, trying to not look too full of dread.
Dezzy: Club? Necktie? Lessy's singular braincell was working overtime to put two and two together. She scratched her chin lightly, looking off to the floor. Something about it rung a bell but the more Lessy tried to think about it, the more distant it became till her mind was gone from that moment. Her eyes glazed over, as if she froze for a second but immediately came back. Though it wasn't exactly her who came back.
Cab jumped a bit in their skin, having being brought to the front in a very unfamiliar location. They scanned the area and took note of the demons that were present in their normal flesh. Cab felt around their person, looking for something but didn't find what they were looking for. Lessy was always bad at keeping record of events in case Cab took over. Though more frustrating was what Cab was wearing like HONESTLY LESSY you're at WORK. Cab immediately zipped up their hoodie to salvage some modesty.
"Yes, ah, I had a question as well." Cab infered from what was going on. They were being tested or something. Their whole air had went from energetic ball to a more somber and professional tone. " My memory escapes me, what is the object today from this here's test?"
Zaku: "Yeah, what they said." Pack chimed in, returning The Fix back the it's standard form. Huh. Cute kid. Had the cheery eyes of Netti back when she was little.
Eevelion: Robe picked herself up from the railing to address her latest question "Very good question! I tried to keep it vague on the fliers since the theatrics are way more fun, but you'll be fighting..." She'd take a moment to hunch over and pick up her paint bucket companion, sitting him on top of the railing "A little collaboration project between me and this little guy. In fact, seeing as how you've each given a question, and yes, backing up someone else's question counts as asking." She'd produce a remote from her pocket "I think it's time we get started." And with that, she'd flick the remote, causing the huge steel doors in front of the party to begin to slide open.
Eevelion: As the doors opened and light filtered in, the attendees could get their first glimpse of their opponent, and it was large, orange, and kinda drippy. When the doors fully opened the creature slid out from it's containment chamber and stood in front of the group in it's full glory, a pudgy ectoplasmic dinosaur, it would blink it's eyes at them before giving the ground a mighty thump and roaring. Robe would beam before raising her arms high into the air “And here they are! Try not hold back, we wanna see just how much they're capable of, and half-hearted fighters give rotten data, and with that, the test is begun!”
Gigi: Oh, he did not like the sound of the doors parting, he did not like the size of the shadow he could see. Damn, this really was a mammoth of a thing, wasn't it? What had Robe fed it, exactly? He pulled himself into a position that lowered his center of gravity, two hands on the spear. He really wished he wore contacts today.
Zaku: "...Well damn." Pack looked up at the rather chubby...what was that, a tyrannosaurus? Nah, looked more like a fat Godzilla.
Yeah...yeah, fat Godzilla.
Dezzy: A collaboration? With that small kiddy looking ghost and equally small child? No, no, Cab shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Looks can be deceiving for all they knew. And what do you know, they were right. That thing was GIANT. Now they were wishing it was something more simplistic and smaller in scale. Scarfing down their fears and checking their silencer they gave a steady sigh, "I got your back covered."
Lessy had already said something similar before they switched, but Cab didn't know. Doesn't sound as cool the second time.
Eevelion: Seeing how the group was conceding the first move, the inky behemoth was glad to take it, rearing around to swipe at the three still clumped together with it's tail. Meanwhile Robe plucked RT off the railing, walking back to the easel and turning her namesake into Chroma, she'd look down to her companion and ask “Well, should we give our masterpiece some support?” with a thumbs up of approval from the bucket she'd dip the brush into his ectoplasmic pool and bring it to the canvas while she thought of what to draw.
Gigi: Necktie jumped up, letting two sets of bright blue wings carry him out of the way. Tryingto steer he only just barely seemed to get him out of the way, the tail swiping past his backbone, a pole-vaulter over a pole. He kept flying, trying not to hesitate and landing a heavy stab into its neck. He was getting tossed around a bit, though the behemoth's neck was pretty fat it still seemed irritating enough of a strike-- he was being shook around and losing his hold. He kind of stuck it in there too deep. He looped a hand into one of Eldredge's hilt holes, letting himself finally fly free with the spear after the ghost successfully dislodged him.
Dezzy: Swiftly, Cab jumped back far enough for the beast to miss them entirely. However, the misplaced their footing, disoriented a bit from the switch, and ridiculously missed shooting the ghost’s head and flew way past it’s shoulder. Cab kneeled down, rubbing their temple with their free hand as they tried to shake off the rust. They whispered harshly to themselves“C’mon, c’mon nows our chance to show what were made of...”
Eevelion: No sooner than it finished it's sweep attack the Behemoth felt a prick on it's neck as Necktie's spear, it would give a violent shake to try to dislodge the demon and his weapon, and when it no longer felt the object stuck in it's neck it would focus on the first thing to cross it's vision, in this case, Cab, lifting one of it's fin-like paws to bring it down on top of them, the new holes in it's neck dripping orange. Robe would look over her shoulder to notice first blood being drawn, and that the behemoth seemed to have momentarily lost track of it's assailant, Robe decided on her first drawing, drawing a bulky circle with a nub on one end and a wiggly line coming out of that nub, she'd look down at RT and after sharing a nod, the drawing fell off of the canvas, becoming a real object. She'd grab this object and bring it over the railing, yelling down to Necktie “Hey! Mr Necktie! Catch this!” grinning as a spark ignited on the fuse of her painted bomb as she tossed it to him.
Zaku: "Welp...let's get to work." Summoning Fix once again, Pack gave it a few test swings before going for the big guy himself...and just thrusting air.
"...Right, shit. You don't have ranged functions." Yeah, no shit it doesnt, you goof. Try again, next time.
Gigi: He landed with a skid on his back, turning his head to see Pack doing....whatever it was he was doing. "y-you don't know how to use your own weapon?!" Dear Satan, this was looking to be some kind of hopeless between a human and a PR representative. He wasn't able to think on that statement too long, hearing something familiar telling him something and....
SHIT
He grabbed the thing, fumbling rather comically for a few handslaps' worth of time before slinging it somewhere--anywhere, and running as fast as he could in the opposite direction.
"you're going to need to get close to it somehow unless you want to launch your weapon, which for the record I do NOT Advise!!"
Dezzy: Cab’s dizzyness spell wore off too little to late as the goopy hand of the ghost came slamming down on their little body. They grunted in pain as the monster’s paw pressed against their back, seeping its weird paint into Lessy’s clothes. Normally Cab would be happy another one of Lessy’s flamboyant outfits would be unwearable but now wasn’t the time. Feebly, she tried to crawl out from under the ghosts paw but, as Silver the hedgehog would say, “Its no use!”
But instead, Cab seethed wily pully at the half of their body that was free, “Fucking god dammit!” Cab didn’t want to ask for help, they had to prove themselves capable they couldn't let go of their pride just yet.
Zaku: "Look, it's been a hot minute, alright?" Making shit was one thing, but actually using it was where Pack was rusty. Fine. Let's get physical then.
Only to not even hit the fucker. But hey, he was close. Necktie, can Pack borrow your glasses, because this man's depth perception is fucking infuriating.
Eevelion: Catching Cab underneath it's paw, the behemoth picked up the driver and prepared to shove them in its mouth, that is at least, until Robe yelled from the catwalk “Hey! No eating the attendees! I'd get in huge trouble if I let someone die during this.” Behemoth, now somewhat confused what to do with Cab, sort of just, gingerly set them down on the floor, turning their attention to Pack flailing uselessly at it and giving a swipe at him with their big ol' paw.
As Robe's paint bomb exploded harmlessly away from everyone, she got to brainstorming her next drawing, deciding on a little raincloud that she sent floating over the battleground toward Necktie, drizzling him a little bit before loosing a thunderbolt beneath it.
Gigi: Necktie took this opportunity of confusion to try and swing for another attack, but underestimated the behemoth's speed and...kind of didn't hit where he wanted to. He tried to put more distance between him and the lizard, but flying backwards sometimes means you just end up bumping on top of a raincloud and getting stuck there. Oh, it felt like paint, he hated this.
Dezzy: Necktie wasn’t the only one having a bad time with the paint monsters. Cab was simply, drenched in goop. They couldn't move as freely till they got all that shit off. Angrily they swiped at their limbs to remove the goop. “Great. Just great. They had to literally nerf the ghost just so you wouldn't die great job, Cab.”
Zaku: Hey-hey, he finally hit the fucker. Granted, on the blunt end of The Fix. And non-lethally at that. But hey, this thing is... surprising goopy. Is that even a word? Goopy? Pretty durable dino tho.
Eevelion: As the behemoth missed another attack it started to realize, tiny things are pretty hard to hit, still, it wasn't stopping time yet, so it went in to grab that demon that had been buzzing around it trying to poke it, AKA Necktie. Robe was already readying her next drawing, a baseball bat and matching baseball popping out of the canvas as she finished, she grabbed the bat and RT grabbed the baseball, throwing it up in the air while Robe yelled “Fore!” sending the ball flying towards Cab with a meaty thwack.
Gigi: He was trying his darndest to get off of this cloud but its like, kind of hard to get off of a paint-cloud without making a mess and he was trying to get covered with as little paint as possible, which was like trying not to fall in the mud pit of a game show obstacle course. In fact, he was too preoccupied to notice a the monster swat at him, which he tired to stop with his spear, but it just went through harmlessly and he got absolutely clamped.
"THIS SUIT IS -----GHGHGHHFPFPPGPP," he got cut off before he could lament what brand it was, or if it was new or not, but we can only assume it was expensive.
Zaku: Aaand another swing. And another hit absorbed by the meat. Y'know that old show from the twenty first century way back then about the square sponge and how one episode had him absorbing punches like a...well, sponge? Yeah, imagine that but with a knife and a giant chubby [REDACTED]Zilla.
Dezzy: Chaleco would of been proud of that meaty thwack upside Cab's head. Unfortunately, they aren't him and that smack disoriented them once more that it made them miss the thing by just a hair. " Seriously?!" Cab called out to Robe. They then mumbled fustratedly as they rubbed the side of their head.
Eevelion: After a quick high five over that sick baseball pitch and swing Robe and RT put their hands to their chins (or roughly where the chin would be, in RT's case) trying to think of what to draw up next, hmm, let's let them get back to you next round. Now that the behemoth had gotten a hold of that pesky mosquito they decided to kill two birds with one mosquito shaped stone as they threw the soggy Necktie at Pack.
Zaku: And anotha stab. What the fuck, man. What kind of paint is that Robe kid working with? Also, hey Necktie. Yeesh, that must be frustrating to have all that paint on you, huh?
"You alright?" He asks them, lending a hand to help the demon up.
Dezzy: All that rage in a tiny pink body built up enough resolve for Cab to say fuck you to this unlucky streak and shoot the fucker straight in the chest where Cab assumed its heart would be. Even after the shitshow their performance started it, it did feel good for them to get one good hit in and they smirked to prove that.
Gigi: He took the hand, knowing full well that depending on the paint it was possible he'd end up glued there if he waited too long. He REALLY hoped the ghost wasn't acrylic, but he also REALLY REALLY hoped the ghost wasn't oil either. It was too thick to be watercolor. This was unfortunate all around.
He tried to shake himself off, getting little flecks of orange scattered around. The human thankfully had it covered, it seemed. "I'll manage, I guess." He tried to run and take a hit at the ghost, but he was moving exceptionally slower than he was already and opted to throw the bident instead to try and get a proper hit--which uh, didn't work out so hot.
Eevelion: The behemoth was kind of surprised to see a bullet get lodged so deeply in itself, losing focus on its attackers and instead clumsily trying to use its paws to dig it out. Robe and RT meanwhile snickered to themselves as they set out sheets of canvas on the floor of the catwalk, they'd need some more room for what they were making, and once those were set out, they'd get to work putting together their project.
Gigi: Necktie proceeded to move, taking the opportunity to grab his spear and stab again....but the stab wasn't very successful. This felt like too long between attacks, and he took it as an opportunity to try and put distance between them once more.
Dezzy: "Well that was almost as short-lived as Lessy's relationship with her mother." Dark humor. It helps ease the pain as their next shot for the chest was absorbed in the thing.
Zaku: Anotha' stab, anotha' failed attempt for it to do damage. Seriously, what kind of paint was this kid using??
Eevelion: While everyone down on the testing floor was having their fun, Robe was finishing up her painting, after a brief look at her work, she grabbed RT and flew up to the ceiling with him where he snapped his fingers, causing a tidal wave of paint to cascade to the floor below. The behemoth didn't notice the wave forming behind it, but they did manage to pull the bullet out of them, they would have gone in for another attack, were it not for the wave crashing into them as they were getting ready.
Gigi: Oh, he was moving way too slow now, and even if he had two sets of wings he got hit anyway and got slammed down into the paint abyss, and hard.
Dezzy: Cab quickly climbed up the behemoth's tail as to avoid getting hit by the oncoming wave. All the meanwhile they clung like a cat on the thing's tail, Cab wondered where everything went wrong. Maybe they'd go to the shooting range and work on their came some more while they were still in control of Lessy's body. After a nice long bath of course.
Zaku: Alright, you big chubby painted fuck, Pack's getting pissed. Finally managing to pierce the fatty, jolts of electricity surged from the blade and into the big chungus of a ghost.
Was...was that meme still relevant in the 22nd century? What even is relevant.
Eevelion: The behemoth kind of stumbled under the wave, but it wasn't too unpleasant for it, just kind of annoying at most, what was REALLY annoying though was getting shocked in the side, the electric weapon charring a section of their goopy skin, the behemoth brought up a goopy paw, about to slap the offending demon when Robe called out "Alright that's enough for now, the test is over. Back in the pen for now" And like a puppy heeling to it's master the behemoth obliged, heading back behind the steel doors as it closed. Robe would clap for the victorious(?) testees "Good job everyone on not getting TOTALLY smashed, though I think the results would have been more interesting with a couple more attendees this was still very insightful." Taking out her remote she'd flick a switch and drains would begin siphoning the flood of paint from the room "Anyways, give the room a few minutes to empty out and you'll all be free to go, if you wanna hand in your clothes to the other researchers we can get them cleaned. I in the meanwhile will go return Artie to stasis, I'll return in a few minutes." Taking RT's hand in hers she'd exit the chamber through the same door she had entered, leaving the party alone in a slowly draining pool of paint.
Gigi: Necktie was splayed out on the floor, crusted in orange, just contemplating his life and his life choices. So this is how it was, huh, getting beaten by a paint ghost. Irony was one hell of a drug. Finally, he got up, removing his jacket (leaving a very fun and flirty orange triangle on his collar. caution, slow-moving vehicle.)
That being said, he held the jacket out as far away from the rest of his body as possible, watching the coattails drip. Disgusting.
Dezzy: Cab Declawed themself from the beast as it left and trudged their way back to the group. Lessy's hoodie and socks were the only real casualty of the event. Her boota, gloves and shorts were made of spandex and rubber so the paint just slide off. However it really wasn't any more favorable that Cab was left in a bikini for a top till they got home. The crossed their arms, unpleased with many things, but mainly themself.
Zaku: He hit it. That's all that matters from this out come. Returning Fix to it's base form, he now took note of the paint coating his clothes.
Well shit. He hoped that paint wasn't acrylic. Clothing choices weren't his forte.
Eevelion: A few minutes later and the floor had mostly drained away, just in time for Robe to re-enter through the main door with a spring in her step "Hello hello everyone, now that the room's drained you're free to go, I gotta stay behind though to clean up some of the mess." she'd grin at the party "I also want to thank you all again for coming, not too many people did but it's still better than nothing, I owe you all, I could take you all out to dinner or something sometime? Nothing too expensive though, I'm on a budget."
Zaku: "I'll keep it in mind. Not a bad ghost you made, kid. You've got some potential in ya." Pack remarked.
Gigi: "He's got a point it's...quite the vexing little bugger," His smile was strained but only because of the clothes, really, there was a real warmth to his tone. "And that's fine, just uh, tell your dad I said hi or something."
Dezzy: Cab stared as the paint began to drain slowly from the area. What an awful day, what would papa Wayfarer say if he could see Lessy now? Long story short Cab was bummed. They didn't want to make eye contact with any of the demons and stared at the floor as they walked. The only thing other than tiled floor she made eye contact with has her boobs.
Her perky little boobs that had some left over paint on them. Lessy would probably be into body paint. Once again they started to disassociate as someone other than Cab drew a little star on their chest.
Glaxay was due for paint job again Lessy remembered. Just as she thought of that she realized where she was again. Shoot, did Cab take over during the WHOLE test? It seemed so as Robe was congratulating them for their participation for the day. "Fuck yeah we did!" She cheered, unaware of whether it was technically true or not, "sweet free too? Today was fucking awesome!"
Eevelion: "Well you guys weren't really fighting a ghost per se, that's why you didn't have to use nullifiers, you were fighting one of Artie's constructs, kinda like those things I kept throwing at you but with a lot more work put into it, instead of those little doodles." She clapped her hands together "Anyways though, if you change your mind or wanna call up the favor you have my number, well actually you don't, except Necktie he might have my home number, just call HQ they know how to reach me." Taking a mop and a bucket she'd start scrubbing down the test area, waving off the others as they left.
Zaku: Nullifiers? Uh...huh. That was a new thing. But hey, Pack would have time to get used to all of this demon tech mumbo jumbo properly. But for now, he's got a favor in his pocket, and that outcome seems pretty nice, yeah? Yeah.
Now to get home and try to wash this shit off. This'll be an interesting story for Netti

Throwback Theurgist Event - Jan 1, 2018
Eevelion: It was roughly noon as the crowd finished gathering in the meeting hall a tall sharply dressed scientist stepped up to the podium, adjusting his tie and glasses before straightening a stack of papers in his hands, clearing his throat, and adjusting his glasses again before addressing the crowd “Alright, is this all the attendants? Mediocre turnout, but sufficable. Anyway, onto business, at eleven-hundred hours this morning a ghost was found to have escaped lab containment, on checking the surveillance cameras, the closest time we can point to it having escaped was around ten-hundred hours. Now on-” As they were about to continue another scientist, this one smaller and significantly more energetic than their stick-in-the-mud colleague, ran up to their side and started pushing him away from the podium “Shoo, you weren't supposed to be handling this briefing, the effects still haven't worn off.” The male scientist was somewhat resistant at first but relented shortly after, yelling back at the admin as he head off into a back room “I'll be telling HR about this!”As the admin took her place at the podium she pat some dust off her coat and gave a sigh before continuing “Okay, sorry about that, okay let's see, he gave the times, well, military time, It was found to have escaped at 11-o-clock and the cameras said it got out at 10-o-clock, just so we're clear.” She gave an inquisitive look at the papers the other scientist left on the podium before wadding them up and tossing them at a nearby trash basket “Anyway, so what you saw with that guy was kind of one of the effects of the ghost we're looking for, got him while it was on its way out, I'll explain that in more detail later. So, this ghost, Throwback Theurgist is what someone in the labs named it, firstly, it can disguise itself as any sort of appliance, phones, laundry machines, radios, only problem with that disguise is that it always looks like a really outdated version of that thing, like, it could be a landline, a washing board, or a walkman respectively, that's kind of how it escaped, someone didn't notice one of those 1980's brick phones at the checkpoint. Okay, second power, it's got this tongue, usually hidden under a grille or something on whatever it's disguised as, any appliance it licks with that tongue turns into an outdated version of itself, so pretty much the same thing as its disguise ability but applied to other things.” She stopped to take a breath before continuing the briefing“Finally, last power, it's what you saw with that guy and is kind of the hardest part to explain, when people get licked by the ghost, it turns them into sort of like, a flatter version of themselves, like, they're not uhhh, fully developed as people, using our example, as you saw, he was a very boring straightlace scientist, well, last week he was balancing a hoagie on his nose among other things. Anyway, using what we know of the ghost, it's likely still in the city, probably hiding in some appliance store, we want you all to make your best effort to recapture it, it's probably one of the least destructive ghosts we have down there, so we're not authorizing you to destroy it, but feel free to rough it up a bit if it'll make capture easier. Just remember if you notice any super obsolete equipment in a store or something, that's probably where it's hiding and to keep any grilles or the like pointed away from you, if its tongue touches you this mission will be harder on everyone. There is both digital and analog ghost capture gear available for you all in the lockers, use whatever you feel will work best for you.” With her briefing concluded she head the same direction her afflicted colleague went, mumbling to herself “Stupid papers didn't even have anything written on them.”
EverSoNitro: Mous crossed her arms as she listened to the briefing, quirking an eyebrow as the first scientist was shooed off the stage. From the sound of things, this didn't seem like an especially destructive ghost, so at least PR didn't have to worry about having a lot to cover up when this was all done with. So long as her colleagues weren't running around like a bunch of lunatics, at least. But hey, this promised to be a good excuse to get out from behind her desk. She'd have to keep her phone on her though, in case her favorite radio station got wind of things while they were trying to take care of it.
Dezzy: Pendant eyed around the room with hidden caution. She would try to get to the ghost first before anyone took advantage of freedom to rough up the ghost. Poor little thing is genuinely harmless… And if Pendant could capture it first they could have it lick and transform her appliances into vintage aesthetic. A colorless TV, VCR, tapes, phone and the such would sure do nicely to gothen up her cove. She simply gave a nod at the end of meeting, striding over to Mous since she seemed one of the more reliable attendees. “Might be a good idea to search in pairs, or something, to catch Throwback, whatever.” Her tone was tonless and nonchalant, ready to get down to buisness but also with an air of dismisal.
Gigi: Ascot leaned back in her chair, arms behind her head. She let out a tiny smirk, what kind of silly prank was this? It'd be a break from the normal shenanigans in her department at least so, whatever. Being roped into stuff pertaining to research was always weird, but....apparently they needed crowd control, or something. Why couldn't they get their own succubus for this, anyway? "Hey, question," she raised her voice a bit, otherwise unmoving. "What if we're dumber than a box of rocks and don't know exactly what model of ipod from 2069 we're looking for, anyway? People are all about going retro these days, maybe it's a new Nebula s420 or something I didn't hear anything about."
Proph: Peasant Top picked his teeth with a small knife, scoffing to himself as the ghost's list of "powers" was rattled off. "I thought we'd have literal walking cannons or somethin' by now." Regardless, he was trained as a frontliner, so odd jobs like this are par from the course. Listening to Ascot's question, he was glad all he carried on him was the aforementioned wittling blade. What can that downgrade to, raw steel?
Eevelion: Admin stopped short of leaving the room to turn to Ascot “Well, Throwback seems to only be able to disguise as and turn things into versions pre-year 2000, so it definitely won't be disguised as a smartphone at all, please use your best judgment and try not to break someone's nose to get their Blackberry or whatever.” she'd also turn to Peasant Top “The walking cannons are in a different section of research, please don't underestimate the diversity of our projects.”
Proph: "'s'fair." was his reply. Let's be fair, we all know who would issue walking cannons, or at least watch them get made, and the last thing PT wants to do is cross that amazon in ANY way. Self preservation at its finest.
EverSoNitro: Mous glanced to Pendant and nodded. "Indeed. Having a few smaller groups would help us keep a low profile out in public, I imagine a large swarm of us roving around would raise suspicion." Of course, as Ascot spoke up, she couldn't help but give out a little scoff. "Well, fortunately for those less observant among us, the... let's say more experienced and worldly among us should have an eye for such minor details, like myself, for instance. If you're not sure about something, I'd be happy to help you identify a "genuine article" from a vintage reproduction."
Gigi: She gave Mous a look that seemed just as boredly acerbic as her voice. "I'm pretty sure I can tell a gramophone from a record player, grandma."
HappyPaca: She-la was just comming out of a repair shop after getting her bike a good old fashion tune up from one of the only repair shops in city tht would take her old clunker. But it was her old clunker and she love it. doesn't matter how old her bike gets it's still running like a dream to her. She didn't have much planned for that day so for a moment she pulled over and parked to take a drink of water and take out her phone to see if there was anything going on today.
Dezzy: Pendant knew she had picked the perfect partner for today, vintage mood board post on tumblr here she come. She was going to get sooooo many followers after this. “The mall might be a good hotspot to check out. Plenty of tech like phones, tvs, kiddy video games a plenty for it mess with and junk.” Pendant could already imagine the tears on some 10 year olds face as their precious game console turned into gameboy classic.
EverSoNitro: Mous huffed a bit at Ascot's reply, particularly the "grandma" comment. "Well, if you discover you can't, I'll be here to assist." She nodded to Pendant. "Good thinking. And, if it does happen to be there, it shouldn't be too hard to keep it contained until we capture it."
Proph: "You always bicker like this?" Peasant Top snipes as he stood into a groaning stretch. "I know you're a bit eccentric like any celebrity, but do you even HAVE a limit?" He starts to lumber off in search of anything pre-pre Fall looking. Hopefully he remembers that capture gear? No? Yes? Maybe?
Gigi: Ascot rolled her eyes at Peasant Top's departure, good luck setting out on your own, dude. She propelled herself into an elbows-on-knees position, looking at the others. "You two have a point though with the malls. Does anyone think more than one location is likely? Do we know anything about behavior patterns that would suggest other locations?"
Dezzy: “Car and motor dealerships might be worth checking out as well. Electronic warehouse stores too.” Ew capture work how troublesome Falda thought to herself, rounding out the edges of her nails with a file. But it couldn't be helped she guessed having rejoined HQ a few months ago. Even it seemed like grunt work given her rank with them it was fitting. She gave a small huff, slipping the file away into a pocket.
EverSoNitro: Mous squinted a bit at Peasant Top, opening her mouth to defend her bit of cattynes, but decided to drop the subject, for the sake of keeping things running smoothly. Collecting up her own capture gear, she shrugged a bit. "That would be a question for Research personel. Though that does raise the question, will someone be on-hand to assist?"
Eevelion: Throwback was enjoying its current freedom, walking down the park disguised as a heating iron as its synthetic brain replayed the objects it had devolved so far, a block back it turned a really nice stove into its cast iron counterpart and a fridge into an old icebox, while crossing the street it turned a food truck into a hot dog cart, luckily the guy was out for a smoke break and didn't get crushed when the truck compacted, that would have been grotesque. As more memories of things it recently changed played through whatever would be analogous to its head it noticed a Harley motorcycle, and its presumed owner distracted, scurrying up next to the metal beast it extended its tongue out of one of the holes in the grille of the heating iron, making a faint “Rerorerorero” sound as it licked the Harley, quickly turning it into a Penny-farthing bicycle. Not wanting to be on the receiving end of its owners wrath, Throwback waddled off, there seemed to be a neat looking mall just a block down it was interested in.
HappyPaca: Pin fixed his shirt collar some what aloof to all that was going on, he was suppose to be over seeing preparations at his restaurant that day but had to put this meeting first. "sigh, i suppose i should go check on my business to make sure the kitchen hasn't been converted to the point my sues chefs have no idea how to use the equipment" he stood up. An looked to Falada "care to look with me mon cheri?" he offered hoping to make the day more barible with a search partner.
Eevelion: When Mous asked about on-hand assistance she suddenly received a call on her phone, when she would answer it a voice on the other side would ask “Waddup, pimp?” Robe chuckled from a chair behind where Mous' group was standing, one leg crossed over the other.
Gigi: "Oh great, a baby is babysitting instead of me. Perfect," Ascot went over to grab some gear herself. Frankly she didn't care who was supervising, as long as she didnt have to do it. Fuck if she knew what she was doing with research business. She knew how to do cop stuff, and that was about it.
HappyPaca: She-la felt her self being raised up as Cyclone was converted into something she has only seen once in a cartoon she autibly gasped and yelled "WHAT THE FUCK?!" as the bike tipped over and she fell harshly onto the side walk not knowing how to keep her balance on the damn thing. if she wasn't wearing her Riding suit it would have been a much nastier fall. "What happen to my bike!?" after recovering quickly as she could from the fall, she stood up and looked at it up and down trying to fathom what happen to cyclone.
Dezzy: With impeccable timing Lessy pulled up to the repair shop and spotted She-la, giving her a honk with her car’s horn, “ Hey, Ghost Rider!” Once she noticed the… just what the hell was that? Lessy scoffed in uncontrollable laughter, covering their painful smile with a gloved hand. “ HAHA, What the fuck? I didnt think your ride couldnt get any shittier than before but DAMN did you prove me wrong!”
EverSoNitro: Mous quirked an eyebrow as her phone began to ring, though as she answered it and heard the voice, she sighed a bit, hanging up as she turned to Robe in person. "Alright, well, if that's everything then, I can drive us all to the mall." Mous's own Aston Martin was in the shop, and so her current vehicle of choice was a bit more cartoonish, and oddly appropriate given the circumstances. She'd taken her reproduction Mystery Machine out of storage.
Eevelion: Robe looked at her phone with an annoyed expression as she was hung up on “Wow, she hung up on me, that's crazy rude.” She'd announce loud enough the group could hear her before actually addressing the group “So yeah, I'm not going, but if you need to know something you can call me, I helped with Throwback once or twice. They're alright.” After that she'd wave them off.
Dezzy: Pin’s familiar face brightened Falda up if only just a little bit, “Oui, but i’m not sure if the restaurant is the best place to start for this mission, don’t you agree? What with the heavy preference for electronics for its meals,” she gave his shoulder a soft pat with rub. “Not that your menu isnt delicious enough, I assure you. Maybe the car dealership would be fruitful with electric cars and the such.” plus, she just really wanted to check out some sweet lambos. "Shotgun," Pendant announed after the phone call.
Gigi: Ascot let out an exasperated scoff, letting her head tilt lamely onto her spine. "Seriously? I hope you all aren't expecting me to actually know what the fuck I'm doing." She absently grabbed for a capture set, regrouping to the others. "I already don't have hope for whipped-cream-for-brains here."
Eevelion: Robe sent out a tweet about the rudeness of some people then checked the rest of her timeline before thinking to herself, she was bored, “I'm going to the mall.” She'd announce to no one in particular.
HappyPaca: Pin smiled glad to see he could brighten up her day abit with a simple gesture. "As usual your right, i supose my staff isn't entirely hopeless if a problem arose." and besides it thing should be alot easier to spot in an open are if they cn find it that is. Pine grabbed some equiptment being sure to be ready to go when ever. "would you like to ride with them or take my car and we follow?" he gestured to Mou's forming group.
Proph: While everyone else was smart and paired up, Peasant Top just walked the sidewalks of the city alone. Destroying a kebab, his lone wolf tactics (accidentally?)bore some fruit, finding some poor joe bawling over a vintage hotdog cart. With over half the kebab left, he kept following the trail of nostalgia while looking for a ride.
Dezzy: With the inclusion of Ascot, Pendant’s team could split up an search various stores in the mall. “Right, so, with Ass here we can search the Phone, Game, and electronic stores at the malle no problem. I call dibs on checking out the cells.”
HappyPaca: She-la was on the phone calling the repair guy she just went too "And your SURE this isn't some god damn joke your pulling on me? then how does a Harly davison turn into a damn 1900 bicycle?!" she was confussed and alittle embarissed rubbing her temple.
EverSoNitro: Mous huffed again, grimacing at Ascot. "I hope you're not just using ignorance as an excuse to not help." Mous replied, before motioning for her own squad to follow her to the psychedelic van. "We'll head for the mall first, perhaps pick up Peasant along the way if we see him." Rounding to the driver's side, she climbed in, waiting for the others to join her.
Gigi: She followed along, putting her hands up a bit. "Nah, I'm just letting you guys know I'm not research, I catch things but this is a little different than what I usually do." She opened up the back sliding door, and made herself comfortable with the extra room. "Place me where you see fit, I can't make any guarantees I won't beat up the first mlg softboy that throws shit my way, though."
Dezzy: Pendant slide into the passenger side next to Mous but not before giving the rather cartoonish car a double take, “Zoinks,” she mumbled before taking the passenger set net to Mous. "Take the game store then I guess," she waved to the back at Ascot. "Pry a Nitendo 64 outta some dude's hand if you gotta." From the looks of it Mous’s car would be a tight squeeze, so she shook her head, wrapping an arm around Pin’s and locking elbows, “I’ll ride with you, of course.”
HappyPaca: He was alittle bit ahead of Falada already pulling out his car keys to his convertable "To be honest i wouldn't mind if the ghost licked my car. It would be fun to see an old french convertable again" He laughed as he open the door for Falada bfore getting in himself. "my grandmother had one." he added.
Proph: "Oh hey, a carpool." said the meat-loving giant. He glanced around, glared at the van, shrugged, then worked on trying to wedge his large frame inside it. "Don't complain if your gas mileage takes a hit." he calls from the far back as the shocks moaned from his settling in. RIP Ascot's ears, though; his burly tone in such a confined space had to be a bit loud.
Dezzy: Falda hummed approvingly at the thought as she got in,”Ooo, vintage isn’t so bad in some aspects.” She couldn't help but think back to straight out of a Scooby-doo van Mous and the others were riding in and gave a small giggle. “ Some, that is.”
EverSoNitro: Once their riding situation was figured out, and her passengers were loaded in, Mous nodded and backed out, quietly dying a little inside as she realized Falda would be seeing her driving a hippie bus. Trying to to let her embarrassment totally rot her soul, Mous pulled out, following the breadcrumb trail of out-of-place vintage vehicles. Pulling up as she spotted PT, the van was thankfully accomodating to his frame, if only just. Still, it'd get a bit more cramped for Ascot in the back, PT being a bit larger than a great dane. "We were headed for the mall," Mous explained. "That seemed like the best place to start looking, and from the look of things, that's where it was headed." Mous glanced to the Penny-farthing bicycle as they passed by, grimacing a bit. "Someone might want to be making a note of where incidents are, clean-up might be a bit of a hassle..."
Proph: He gave a thumbs up while stuffing the remainder of the kebab into his maw. Some of these things stood out like actual sore thumbs, kinda hard to miss
HappyPaca: Pin started the car and started driving toward the dealer ship closetest to trail of vintage memorablia following Mous's car for some time, he never visited the dealership often but he remebered something they coud use as an excuse to look. "if the dealer ship gives a hard time for looking so throughly, let's just tell them since your new in town i'm getting you a new car as a small welcome back gift." He gave a charmming smile and winked "and if you find something mon cheri don't hesitate to ask, it would make things more believeable." he suggested.
Eevelion: One by one, everyone (sans She-la) would hear a ping on their phone as Robe added them to a group text channel, with the first post reading [I just realized you all probably need a way of telling each other if you find Throwback without having to yell across a crowd.] with the second post reading [FYI, maybe try not to cause a bigger panic]And a third reading [BTW, nice van Mous]
Gigi: Ascot gave an affirmative grunt and not much else, being shoved into a corner. She checked her phone, looking at the messages. [Thats gonna depend on how many sweaty guys are out today.]
EverSoNitro: As Mous pulled into the mall parking garage, she'd hear the ping on her phone, reading the message and pausing for a moment. "Panic... Oh, damn it all..." Mous seethed, quickly checking social media. Sure enough, there were those leeches sticking their noses into their business. "You all go on ahead, I've got to deal with this... everyone pick a store and fan out." Mous's nose was buried in her phone, hanging back for a moment and working on a cover story to quell suspicion.
Proph: Peasant looked at the phone hanging from a lanyard around his neck, looking fun-size in comparison in his meaty hoof of a hand. With the nail on his index finger, he carefully typed out a [ok boss] before letting the device drop under his namesake, dangling like the dongle it is as he poured out of the back of the van.
Eevelion: As Mous' group started to make their way through the mall they would come across a handful of people walking towards the exit with bulky CRT TV screens, NES cartridges, a couple brick phones, and one person even leaving with a ColecoVision, indicating a sort of trail left by Throwback, even more indicative, hastily taped signs to a few storefronts saying “Retro Sale!”
Dezzy: With a click of her pen Pendant was already on taking notes of the incidents as they drove by them, “ On it.” Pendant shuddered in her seat as Peasant munched the remainder of his kebab. Food crunching wasn’t her preference in asmr. Once they pulled up Pendant hopped her short legs out with equipment safely tucked into her bag. “Find me at phone shops when you catch up,” Pendant said Mous and trotted over to the cellular stores. At the sight of all the people leaving with archaic devices Pendant could tell Throwback had been there. “Perfect cover,” agreeing with a soft giggle she heard the noise go off from her phone. Falda then began to type and verbally read out loud her response for Pin[ Pin and I will let you all know if we see anything at the dealership. Good luck everyone]
Gigi: "Hah, try not to get chewed out by the vampire too much!" She got out, closing the door behind her and walking in. Unfortunately she was in enough time to see that yes, she'd have to smack a few gamers today, if the boxy consoles that looked nowhere near as sleek as the usual models she's used to dealing with on smuggling cases was any indicator. "Oh , for the love of......FUCK."
HappyPaca: " ah merci, I can't reply while driving" Pin pulled into the dealer ship actively looking around for ny retro car the may have seemed to pop up out of no where, it seemed that day though their was a wide varity. he parked and got out putting on some shades that were acutally perscription so he could look a bit more throughly. "Let's get started shall we?"
Proph: PT wasn't too far behind, watching a couple frat boys carry out a big screen box-set tv straight out of an 1980's sitcom. Not being the biggest tech guy, he thought it the Best Idea to check out every home entertainment section in the major chain stores, keep the search simple. He liked simple.
EverSoNitro: Mous huffed a bit as she put her phone away. "Damn it, I don't have time for this..." Mous intoned. She'd have to help with the official statement later, right now there were more pressing matters to attend to. Stowing the device in her pocket, Mous headed up to the mall proper, deciding that she should investigate the food court. Surely there'd be a number of unattended phones for Throwback to slobber all over.
Eevelion: As Mous checked the food court, sure enough there were a couple of retro-fied phones, but not enough to establish a sort of pattern. Back over by the electronics section there lay on a bench a TI83 Graphing Calculator, sitting there in all its monopolizing glory despite being an outdated piece of junk.
EverSoNitro: As Mous spotted the phones, she squinted, approaching cautiously, arming herself with the capture gear. She stepped closer to the first, an old Mickey Mouse rotary phone (and mentally recalling the one she had in her own collection) before carefully nudging it with an activated glove.
HappyPaca: She-la was just sitting on the curb by this point kinda stranded and still lil confused on what the hell to do with this bike. but then basically said 'fuck it zipped down her ridding suit tied it around her waist and tied her helmit to the back and after a few minutes of trail and error started riding the stupid looking bike back to her appartment.
Gigi: Ascot stormed in, stretching out, the chaos in the air tasted nice but there was just too much joy in it. Terrible. No time for asking people questions, she followed upstream of the surges of people running about, pushing aggressive customers out of her way with minimal effort.
Dezzy: Pendant browsed around the cell store she was at, so far there was no noticeable signs of Throwback had been there. A couple brick phones sure but it seemed like it had already done its damage by the time she arrived. [Nothing at the cell shop. Less you count last year’s Ipad as archaic.] With a nod and link of their elbows once more Falda agreed and began the search. Falda eyed the cars like it was she was a little girl in a candy shop. “Call me what you want, but I just think lamborgini’s to be so stylish.” she mused happily at the sight of gold lambo, walking around and fawning over it like it was an adorable puppy.
Proph: Muscling through one department store only to turn right back around and leave, Peasant took the time to peck out an update. [dept store on E end looked clear didnt come this far] Slipping the phone under his shirt PT went into another shop. Oh. An ACTUAL home entertainment store, good call.
HappyPaca: he smiled as she hung on his arm browsing the more suspious cars as they walked. looking particuarly at models that were more then 40+ years old. looking up and down the lambo as Falada fawned over it. "i Personally i'm more found of Charcoal grey cars but a lambo of any color is always nice. This seems like a newer italian model too." he chuckled and made sure to keep looking around but stood by as falada was fawning over the nice car. checking throughly of the cars around them for any suspious activity enjoying his time more with Falada there to lighten things up.
Eevelion: As Mous nudged the phone suddenly a voice came from one of the other food court tables “You really gonna try to touch it?” Robe asked from her seat, but that distraction was just enough that the phone, in truth Throwback, was able to climb past her glove and jump at her face, tapping her forehead with her tongue before skittering off towards the entertainment section of the mall. Robe laughed at Mous as she changed, typing out on her phone [Critic down :P]
EverSoNitro: Mous glanced up as she heard the voice, squinting a bit as she saw Robe lounging nearby. "You know, you really ought to be properly helping, considering this came from your-" Of course, while Mous was preoccupied with criticizing Robe's work ethic, she failed to notice the beloved cartoon icon grab for her upper arm, yelping and stumbling back as it scrambled up and slapping her forehead with her tongue. Falling on her rear, Mous's head began to spin, until she gave her head a shake, seemingly recovering. "Ugh... you detestable little insect..." Mous began, carefully getting to her feet. Once standing again, she seemed to look down her nose at the imp a bit more, than normal, taking a rather haughty and self-important stance. If one were to look closer, it also appeared that her makeup was a bit heavier, as if concealing injuries. "I would have had it, too, if you hadn't divided my attention..."
Proph: Of all the people to first reply, it was the 9 foot literal meatslab. [is ms ego ok? is ghost there?] Clearly not in the right neighborhood, Peasant left the store he was haunting, awaiting a reply. Or a return volley, depending on who answered.
Eevelion: "Maybe you would have had it if you used your capture gear instead of just trying to grab it." Robe snarkily replied, waving her off "Now go get back to work, it already hit you so you're immune to any further effects." meanwhile she tapped out on her phone [She's fine, just bratty, ghost head towards electronics section.]
Dezzy: “ I like my cars to stand out amongst the crowd,” the are was so clean that Falda could ee her reflection on it. She flashed a cute smile at herself till her phone went off, to which she huffed and unlocked her phone. “Ah, it seems the experiment is at the mall. Poor Mousquetaire.” she feigned sadness at that last part if only out of respect. “We should head to the mall now, I guess.” She gave the yellow lambo a pet on its hood. Someday, but not today. Pendant meanwhile left the store and headed to the food court with Robe and Mous. Helping Mous onto her feet and into the food court's chair she asked flatly, “ Where did it go?”
Proph: PT replied with a thumbs-up emoji because it was faster before stomping off to where he was pointed. He fingered the capture gear as he thundered down the thoroughfare; Hitting things is is forte, but since Mous was ALSO a member of the Hit Things club, he decided to be cautious this time.
Gigi: Ascot heard a buzz, and checked the message. She typed a hasty [ok, on it] before taking off her neckpeice and readying the kit. Guess everyone in the games department would be spared for now. Though...if they spotted the ghost, things weren't going well already....Thankfully not too many people were in her way this time, as people tend to avoid a large, blackened sword that's vaguely skeletal-looking. Someone screamed, and she whipped out a badge. "Sheesh, woman, don't you see the crowds! It's not black friday!"
EverSoNitro: Mous rolled her eyes. "I was using my capture equipment, imbecile." She flashed her activated buster gloves, which presently seemed just a bit bulkier than normal. "Besides, in the very probable case that you hadn't noticed, there's tons of potential candidates for that ghost's disguise in this mall." She jerked her arm away from Pendant as she was helped up, before looking incredulously at Robe. "You're telling me what to do?" She let out a rather haughty laugh, before planting herself in her seat. "I don't think so."
HappyPaca: Pin sighed "Poor dear, we should invite to take her out for dinner later." he said as he once again pulled out his car keys and took off his shades. "Let's hurry so we can possibly try to minimize the damage knowing the group thats currently there at the moment" now that he thought about he wounders how Mous is now while under the affcts of throw back.
Dezzy: Raising her hands up defeatedly Pendant shimmied around the angry Thrownback!Mous and headed for the electronics store, retrieving a mask and metallic pointer that one would use for presentations from her bag and began proding around the area. “Agreed,” she kissed into her hand and placed it one the lambo before Pin and her were off again on the road to the mall.
Gigi: Something particularly old and boxy caught the periphery of Ascot's eye, and she tried to rush and swipe for it. It lunged at her, and she began backing up quickly, thrusting her arm out quickly to let her sword extend properly. No connection, but that did seem to scare the moving appliance for now....she kept following, more slowly this time. Her eyes were still peeled onto it, and she wove her way through the crowd a few hundred feet back.
Proph: Blade resting on his shoulder, Peasant storms in right as Ascot swatted the critter away. He followed Throwback through the food court as best as his bulk could go. Clearly, it won out in raw speed, so, Without a thought, he hefted the sword up and held it inverted, hefting the massive sword he flipped it around so he held it inverted, and matching his stride, chucked the heavy blade at the ghost like a javelin. PT managed to clip the ghost along the side, but this made it run /faster/.
Eevelion: As Throwback ran down the corridors it ran into MORE people that seemed to want at it, narrowly dodging a sword from one and taking a slight clip from the other, as it circled back it gave them a wide berth, not wanting to take another hit, back towards the food court it went.
HappyPaca: Looking at the way falada liked the lambo hmm... maybe pin could get her a welcome gift after all it's a strong maybe. As soon as the two found a parking space convently next to Mous's van, He grabbed the equiptment from his trunk while Falada was stepping out of his car and got them both ready as they headed for the Mall's entrance making sure both of them were prepared for whatever may come their way. As if he was prepering a excellent meal for an importent guest.
Dezzy: At the sound of Throwback making its way back to the food courts Pendant sharply rose up from inspecting, grabbing onto her namesake to allow it to transform into its true rapier form and made long strides for the ghost. “C’mon goth momma needs a new…” she took a swipe “Aesthetic!” her sword missed, stumbling on her feet a little before she could fall. She cursed under her breathe bitterly.
Eevelion: As Throwback barreled back towards the food court it passed by Pendant who seemed very intent on capturing it as well, as it ducked past her rapier and head towards the food court Robe popped the lid off her drink, controlling the liquid inside to try to make a cage of ice around the escaping ghost, unfortunately her placement was off, and instead of encapsulating it, the ghost launched off the side sending its trajectory... straight towards her, “Oh crap” she muttered, as it collided with her its tongue lolled out and tapped her on the scalp. As she held her head where it had bumped her she seemed to shrink into her clothes a little, but that was more overshadowed by those clothes getting bigger, and when she stood up she was almost completely covered in her robe, except for the top of her head, which she quickly put a huge wizard cap on, the gremlin was here. Meanwhile, Throwback continued its escape path, running into the same direction Pin and Falda were entering through.
HappyPaca: Pin thrusted forward the secound he saw the lil bastardheading towards him and flada causing a ruckus umong his associates. "It's time to falay the main ingdent!" cheesy phrases aside pin nly manages to graise throwback as he passes him, quickly turning back to Falada "Quickly grab it mon cheri!" hoping she could use the moment to her advantage being so close to him.
Gigi: Ascot was still chasing after it, though it was getting increasingly difficult to follow it within all the ruckus. She grabbed her phone in frustration, tapping out a [DO WE HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO ATTEMPT A QUARANTINE, BECAUSE I THINK WE REALLY OUGHTA]. The way it was going it looked like she was getting closer to the entrance, about back where she came from...no good, no good at all.
Eevelion: Gremlin Robe gave a quick peace sign with a playful “See ya, suckers!” before running off to the electronics section with surprising quickness for someone covered so wholly, as she passed by Pendant she leaped, snatching her hat off her head and placing it on top of her own hat, continuing down the electronics section she slowed down and held her primary hat over her face as she saw the absolutely gargantuan Peasant Top, taking a wide arc around him and never taking her off him till she was far away enough to start running again, straight out of the mall.
Proph: Still catching his breath, PT just watched the jittery imp circle around him with a look in her eyes like he was going to eat her. He shrugged it off, though, truth be told, he got looks like that a lot. Looking at the latest page, he gave an exasperated sigh before retrieving his blade from the floor it was impaled in and following the others.
Dezzy: “Hopefully the team inside has it managed,” she said, shoving her phone back into her jacket as she entered the mall, only to be greeted by the said ghost the group were aiming to capture. “God damn it.” grabbing the hem of her long skirt and with one swift movement it turned into its pistol form around Falda’s hands and for Falda to stand in her pantsless glory. She pulled the trigger and missed by the skin of her teeth. [Quarantine sounds good. Box it off before it can escape. Through the parking lot.] Pendant went to go grab Robe but it seemed that the small imp had, somehow, gotten visibly smaller than thought possible. She ran a hand through herbangs and sighed but it was short lived as her big hat was taken from here. “What the-” Pendant shook her head. Nevermind that they had to contain this thing before it got out.
Eevelion: Throwback had almost made it to the door, sweet sweet freedom was at hand, then suddenly it found itself in front of a couple pulling out weapons, it managed to dodge their attacks, but couldn't risk trying to pass the two, so it turned and head back into the food court, jumping up onto a table to try to figure which way it could run to next.
Gigi: [on it, I'll notify the blarts.] She held ground, calling up a security line. "SUP, its Enforcer Pheles, I'm gonna need you guys to keep guard on entrances for any rogue objects that look like they're moving on their own..................Don't shut down the place but have people recommend they either don't go in or go into another shopping center...........Dude just do what I say okay and make sure nobody panics!" She hung up. Might as well stay in the food court to do what she does best, crowd control. Also, eating.
HappyPaca: Pin's cheeks turned pink seeing falada in her under garments and quickly un button his shirt having an undershirt on underneath do to recent cold weather. so he did not mind lending his shirt to Falda to tie around her waist "Here, i'm so sorry this is all i have at the moment. but if you do not mind contenueing we should try and follow it" he gestured towards the food court.
Dezzy: Pin was much taller and larger than Falda that the ends of his shirt went down to just above her knees. “Thank you mon cheri,” she gave him a small peck on his cheek with a wink and jogged to the food court. [Food court] Pendant typed in the group chat and approached the ghost once more. She gave another strike at Throwback but blade only seemed to collide with the floor tile and fell back into a chair. Taking a knee Falda tried to line up a good shot at the thing but also missed. This is why she just left the action to CGI.
HappyPaca: Mean while She-la fell off the penny bike again and just decided to sit on the side walk and contiplate life.
Gigi: Ascot was in a fair amount of concentration, trying to sap energy out of everyone. Panic wasn't quite her favorite flavor but it'd work--and crowds around her seemed to clear out. Good. Pendant and Falda's noises gave her a general idea where to watch where the ghost was going--and took a guess at the location it'd land in, and slap. SATIN extended outward, slamming into the floor and holding the ghost firm by one of its legs. "FUCK, DID I GET IT?"
Proph: With the wind back in his sails, Peasant reconvened with the others, blade held firm, tip resting on the ground. e watched Ascot work, waiting to strike when the proverbial iron was hot. Much as he would love being a gloryhog for once, it didn't feel right to steal the kill. Then she acted. Well then. Nothing against getting an assist! With the critter pinned, he lunged forward with a throaty roar, swinging the chunky sword up then down in a solid arc, like an oar, slapping the ghost into the ground one last time.
Eevelion: As Throwback was well and truly pinned an energetic clapping could be heard from behind the group, the first scientist from the briefing stood there “Good work everyone! Very impressive work, anyway, the effects wore off on me about fifteen minutes ago, so I figured I should come by to bring Throwback's containment cage over so you don't have to bring it back to HQ at arm's length.” Mentioning Throwback's cage he'd pull out a small bird cage before leaning down to where the ghost was, picking it up gingerly from behind and placing it inside the cage “All done!” he exclaimed “Don't worry about getting it returned, I'll handle that, the rest of you just enjoy your day, and again, thank you for your work.” Bowing out he head back to HQ with a small enforcement team just to make sure the ghost didn't escape again.
HappyPaca: She-la resorted to walking the penny bike home wanting nothing more then a cup of hot coco when she got back.
Dezzy: Pendant gave a half hearted fist pump as the scientist from earlier took her vintage dreams away in its cage. She tilted her head back exasperatedly and let it hit the table behind her, running a hand through her hangs. Well… the effects hadn’t totally worn off the other effected appliances yet, there was still hope to be salvaged. She sharply rose up from her seat and pulled out her camera she had tucked away in her bag. “I’m going to just… take some photos record today’s events for research,” she announced before scuttling away. Falda gave a sigh of relief and wrapped her namesake back to hug at her hips,. “Problem solved, now to deal with clean up and those tontos at Panic.” How did they even know her panties were edible?
Gigi: Ascot wiped her brow and dismantled her kit. "NOTHIN' TO SEE HERE FOLKS, EVERYTHING'S UNDER CONTROL." She shooed off shoppers that looked like they were lingering too much. Don't think about it too hard. She looked over to the rest of the team, with a slight grin. "Good job, guys, we...got the job done and I got lunch free of charge."
HappyPaca: Pin nodded to falada after thanking the scientists for their work and strentch alittle, "it sounds good to me. we can end the day with a good drink." He could here his wine cellar calling his name just thinking about panic and their shenanigans. He looked around abit and thought "maybe we should call chaleco to pick up robe as well where ever she went."
Proph: "That's all one can wish for, right?" Peasant once again donned his namesake, just in time his bare barrel chest was gettin' nipply. "Jus' thowin' it out there, but how about we DON'T go hunting next time we go out, okay? A run, some lunch, little weightlifting, make a day of it!"
Gigi: Whatever joy was on her face got replaced with narrowed eyes and a slanted, tight lipped look. "Don't push it, dude."
Proph: He raises his hands is mock surrender. "Jus' bein' nice, calm down. We're all friends, here." The ONE time he wasn't trying to put the moves on someone...
Dezzy: Falda hummed as she texted her brother to come pick up Robe, "The only exercise I want today is...." She stopped herself right there and smiled innocently, "I could go for a drink though."
HappyPaca: Pin gave a chaismatic smile and said "if anyone else cares for free drinks just tell inferno i sent you in. there all on me" he'd ask falada on the ride back if she wanted to have drinks at his place or inferno, options are always nice.

<FaroresVault>Given the circumstances (such as short planning, and new crew members) the trek to the inner Wastes had gone smoothly, though this was naturally expedited by the fact that the majority of the crew present were already familiar with the area. The Dead Zone itself was of no real concern to the group aside from the potential for undocumented Ghosts or any rogue persons to catch them off guard – but for security’s sake, Infantry members had been brought out anyway. It was a fair sized crowd with an abundance of Inner Project Researching members; an unusual sight to most everyone present who was outside of the upper echelons. Dead Zones had a tendency to be cold and gloomy, with this excursion being no different aside from a stronger intensity as compared to other documented scouts of the region. Just as the surroundings had a more general and appropriate scope weather, any ecosystem in short proximity of a Vault carried its own. There had been clear Ghost activity in the area, and the overarching cloud of Vault fumes blocking out all heat and light from the sun. There was little given to the group in terms of light outside of their weaponry and whatever gear they had chosen to bring that day. It was a good thing they’d anticipated having lost their flood lamps by now. As the group approached the precipice of the crater which was once Base Σ, one of the Administrators came to a halt, looking about the area through a pair of binoculars. Content, she spun about, muttering something to one of the higher Infantry members, and returning to face her researching group. “Alrighty! As some of you know there is a dual-mission with this excursion, which is on a need-to-know basis. For those of you unawares, don’t think twice on it, as it is outside of your assignment.” She chimed, rubbing her hands with great energy to try and keep them warm, her breath condensating and floating away in the soft, freezing wind of the area. “For those of you unfamiliar with the Dead Wastes – which you may see in paper referred to as F-Zones – don’t be too concerned with the sudden drop in temperature. We’ll be back to our sunny high of 77 in a jiffy. It’s about 26 right now, but it does warm up as you go further into the ruins. We assume this is due to the Tunnel Systems. Try to keep out of them, as some of the Ghosties are particularly nasty and they are very easy to get lost in. The last thing anyone needs is to be eaten alive, right?” her demeanor was far too cheery for the subject matter. ”Any questions?”
<SuperSaiyan5100>The trip here hadn’t been too bad, Bowtie thought as they all stopped. She took the chance to look around the area, getting as much of her surroundings into her eyes as she could with the darkness that surrounded the area. The sudden drop in temperature made her shiver a bit and her breath condense as it exited her mouth. Man, it was cold. A voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She listened intently as the situation was explained to her by the higher ups. When she was told about the temperature getting warmer as they advanced, it brought her some inward relief. She didn’t like the cold very much at all. When she asked for any questions, Bowtie shook her head no. “No questions from me” she said. <RedOphiuchus>Hoop took a deep breath before exhaling, building her motivation. She loved the cold, and she enjoyed the rare opportunity to leave New Daten City and see more. It certainly gives one an appreciation for the comforts found in the city. She proceeded to stretch some more, knowing things may only get rougher from here on out. "Excuse me, yes. Is there a possibility of encountering Angels, or other such loathesome bottom feeders this far in the wastes? I've heard rumors, but I don't know how much weight they should be given," her voice lacked any sign of concern. She wanted to be prepared for any possible outcome. <FaroresVault>"Potentially!" the tiny Admin chirped "But unlikely, as they haven't seemed to have been in this area often since the incident destroyed their base here in the first place." she bounced back and forth from her heels to her toes "If there were, this is why we have Infantry around, just in case. But it is proven-out to be unlikely. As for humanoids outside of the ornithurae families and other related dodos, there is a settlement north-northwest of here, but they have yet to give us trouble either. Our biggest issue would be Ghosts." <theprophetgamer>The units from Infantry were already scanning the immediate area, doing loose patrols while the Research rep got her little bunsen breakers set up to go. The cold didn't bother them; they were well-equipped for most terrain, and were already doing impromptu gear checks and drills out of muscle memory and idleness. Honestly the cold felt good, their CO liking to crank the heat during calistenics and 'live-fire' sparring. When one of the Nerds piped up, saying the word 'angel', the grunts instantly perked up and snapped to attention. Seeing nothing of the sort, they slipped back into their own little world while waiting for further orders. One grumbled to himself about what he did to get stuck with such a dull assignment. He got his answer when his squad leader clapped the back of his helmed head with the flat of her armored hand. "Because of shit like that, now can it!" <SenseiDezzy>To any normal person the eerie site would bring chills up ones spin, but for Pendant it only brought a waves of anticipation that was well contained behind her unchanging poker face of a mask. Such beautiful ruin, she couldn’t help but take in all the sights before going further. “cool,” was all said with a puff of frozen breath. Pencil on the other hand held an air of uncare for the site. The whole thing was nothing more than an assignment to her and how dull it seemed to be without any real dangers for her at least. She just stood her guard, watching over the area till things progressed, “ Seems simple enough. With us here there needed be anything to much worry.” She said this for all to hear but she said it glancing over in the direction Robe was at. <Eevelion>Robe held her chin in her hand, kicking her feet impatiently, she didn't much enjoy the travelling to go somewhere she had no idea what they'd be doing at, the prospect seemed even more boring when they said that any encounters were unlikely. Plus she also wasn't that fond of the cold but that's another matter. “Is there gonna be any details on what we're doing or are we just supposed to watch while you guys work?” She's very bored. <Koukaiju>Gloves gave a good look-over while everyone was talking yet; she'd been beyond the walls before, but the place was nigh recognizable as she once knew it. It'd make this outing less tragic, maybe. Pendant's words prompted her to tilted her head and gave a squint, focused on the terrain yet. "I can sort of see the appeal, yes." <vividExplorer>Sarong let out a deep breath watching it swirl and spin like smoke until it eventually disappeared. What a wonderful feeling. The goose bumps and cold winds were welcome sensations compared to the near oppressive heat that often clung to New Daten. Sad i’ll only be this cold for a moment. Listening to the chatter between some of the attendants she smiled glad to hear interest in the ruins. It was quite amazing, destruction and all. Sarong chuckled at Robe, patting her head gently as she walked by to stand near the Administrators. “Why, little one, you will be working too. We have no use for idle hands here.”
<FaroresVault>People had chimed in and that had been enough – the Admin glanced to Sarong and nodded at her and then downwards into the ruin, looking for something resembling clearance. Upon receiving it, she grinned back at the group “Okay!! So, while you don’t have to follow me into the ruins themselves and you are free to explore if you wish and see if you can find anything, a small team is necessary to check on the documentation materials we’d left here last visit. There had been a mishap which prevented us from getting everything we’d required, and some security issues in the area since. That being said, we should be just fine, considering whereabouts it’s all parked.” She looked about the group “So if any of you are willing to come work with me, now’s the chance.” And so, she hopped over and into the chasm with a quiet ‘allioup’ and began a quick descent into the rubble, only the brightness of her handheld lamp marking where she was. A couple of her own team slid down after her, some grumbling the entire way down – many hated this particular region, and it wasn’t often they got volunteers to go here anymore. Elsewhere others were beginning to set up new lighting to assist with the dim conditions, a small muster point, and some medical assistance if necessary. The usual for these excursions. If you were to make the choice, would you: >Try to explore the area through the deep fog and try to find something above the ruins? >Enter the ruins, but branch towards a source of the fumes permeating the area? >Enter the ruins and follow the Admin?
<RedOphiuchus> >Enter the ruins and follow the Admin. While she wouldn’t quite call herself “afraid” to explore, Hoop would certainly prefer to shadow someone with a bit more experience in the area. She slid down the path, following just behind the admin’s team.
<Eevelion> >Enter the ruins, but branch towards a source of the fumes permeating the area. Robe figured the place most likely to see something interesting would be around the gas vents, she'd hang around the entrance to the ruins, waiting to see if anybody would be going the same way as her.
<SuperSaiyan5100> With that, everyone started to go their own ways. Bowtie took a moment to ponder her options here. She didn’t know the area that well and didn’t want to risk getting lost in the possible maze that was the ruins. She also felt that the Admin had enough people following her already. So, she made the decision >Try to explore the area through the deep fog and try to find something above the ruins.
<SenseiDezzy> Pendant chose to enter the ruins, and follow the admin. She wanted to see what further lied within the ruined base. Pencil walked over to Robe, choosing to go wherever she went which in the case, meant checking out the fume source. “I’ll join you and assist in any way I can.” She was the youngest of them all so it only made sense for her to watch over her ward on the off chance something should occur.
<Koukaiju> >Enter the ruins and follow the Admin As much as Gloves wanted to stay and check what was up with the ruins, she was equally interested in what was going on within that building--after all, it wasn't a structure she was familiar with, so why the fuck not.
<theprophetgamer>While the bulk of the mass stayed behind to keep their 'base' safe and secure, a few from Infantry broke off to follow Bowtie as she dove into the foggy ruins. It was, of course, to keep her safe in such an unpredictable environment, as the safety of the Researchers was paramount to their own, But these few were the first to give chase once the main group scattered to do....whatever they were doing. At least someone wasn't gonna be bored now.
<FaroresVault> >Explore the fog Bowtie would find herself in an area with little more to see than caved in buildings. Each step of hers would seem to cut itself short in the haze, barely making it past her immediate surroundings. The silence of the area was eerie. Deafening even. She wouldn’t make it very far without an escort, or if she did, she’d certainly get lost. These streets were difficult to recognise in the condition they were in now. Any light around her was absorbed and reflected by the fog, never making it more than five feet beyond her field of vision. Somewhere in the distance, the fractures skeletons of the cities architecture loomed in to view. >Continue >Turn back >Fume source The area which Robe and Pencil headed towards was a floor below the Admin and her small posse. The hole they’d needed to climb in to was dark and difficult to gauge the depth of. The closer they came to it, the thicker and more humid the air was. Something about it had a sour smell. There was a strange, bell-like tinkling somewhere from the depths. >Go in >Turn back >Follow the Admin The small crowd following the Admin would find themselves having little difficulty getting into the ruins, but at the base of the crater – excluding the chasm of the lowest floors – the promise of heat was followed through, and they’d be enveloped with idle chipper chatter. “We had initially set this area up so we could quickly encode the data we were finding in the area, medical information, mostly. We think we’d found a server area, but they’re likely long shut-down by now.” She sighed, shrugging “But we could always bring them back to life!” It was too easy to get lost in the twists and turns of the ruins. Had they passed through this hallway already? Something about the floor seemed wet and murky, but there was nothing there.
<Koukaiju> Gloves took a glance around, ah yes, interior ruins. This place was probably nicer when it wasn't trashed. Currently it seemed best suited for some sort of horror film--one that, preferably, she didn't want to get lost in. And she had a bad feeling she'd get lost if she didn't stick with the rest of the team. "Well, I'm glad this never really happens in the city anymore," she mumbled to herself.
<Eevelion> Robe clapped her hands together seeing her mom would be joining her, she was also pretty happy just to have someone join her since the area was a little bit very spooky. Leading her adopted parent to the hole she'd plug her nose against the sour smell, though she'd soon let go as she favored being able to breathe. Finding the dark and questionably dark hole she'd peer over it before summoning her wings, jumping in and fluttering downward slowly till she reached the ground.
<SenseiDezzy> “The left overs of pure destruction and decay are a sight to behold. Such splendors can’t be rivaled to justice outside of these barren lands. “ Pendant mused out loud as they made their way in. At the mention of brining something back to life, Pendant chased off the thought of making an evanescence reference. She took note of how even though the floor felt wet there was nay an explanation as to why it was so. “The floor gives the impression of dampness beneath my feet, yet a source is beyond my sight. Why is that?” “ugh, what a disgusting stench.” Pencil remarked, but ultimately followed suit after Robe. She summoned her own wings and followed downward by Robe’s side till they reached the bottom. “You hear that bell sound right? We should follow it…carefully. It could show promise.” Something interesting, awesome.
<SuperSaiyan5100> Bowtie squinted her eyes as she tried to make out much of anything in this thick fog. It was a lot worse that she originally expected. She took slow deliberate steps, testing the ground in front of her a few times before putting her full weight on that foot. “Maybe this wasn’t the best idea” she thought to herself as she came to a stop and gazed at the ruined city. She looked behind her back to see if she could spot where she came from. She wasn’t willing to get herself lost and create a head ache trying to find her. Whatever clues were there didn’t seem to be worth the risk so she decided to >Turn Back.
<RedOphiuchus> Hoop couldn't help but gaze at the scenary as they approached their destination. She tried to imagine people living here. Even when it wasn't so destroyed it was hard to imagine these were comfortable living conditions. She wondered if, in some ways, death was preferable to struggling on the outskirts of society. A faint feeling of pity swelled inside for those in similar bases.
<FaroresVault> >Turn back Bowtie would find herself back where she began, with her original options in hand. >Go in It was a wise choice for the pair to use their wings to get down, finding that the drop encompassed two floors into the buildings depths, but the way out was still easily accessible. The temperature change was sudden and sharp, now almost sweltering to the pair. The ground absorbed their steps, soft like mud and with the resistance of water. The scent of decay must have been coming from the small Ghost which had been disturbed by their descent, leaving little but an orange blur as a clue to its presence. The bells were louder now, but their direction was difficult to determine and the area quite dim. Good thing demons have strong night vision. > Investigate the sound > Go back As the Admin’s team reached the end of the corridor, she tried to keep up with whatever she was poised. “Admittedly I’m a little stumped,” she’d stated in response to Pendant’s observations “it wasn’t like this last time, and it doesn’t seem like the floor is wet either. Someone should take a note of that.” She glanced back to her map, pulling them into the final corridor and stopping dead in her tracks. Ahead of the crew at the end of the corridor lay the computer systems which Research had left both to collect data and quickly input it. But not in the condition they’d left it in. As the group approached the rubble, an agitated string of “No”s came from the Admin. She fumbled with some of the pieces and gently kicked some of the ruined wall in frustrated. The Angels had done this. She knew they’d done this. This wall was completely inconspicuous otherwise and she’d known there was a cave in elsewhere which prevented access to it. Had she been in more casual company, there would have been a string of expletives. “Well.” She hissed, still smiling through the fury in her voice (what was it about this department’s higher ups and smiling with each emotion?) “Those birdbrains decided to fu---ddggge everything up for us.”
<Koukaiju> Gloves watched the admin skulk and struggle her hardest not to swear, peeking over heads to get a better look at the mess. "Are you sure it was an angel and not something else in the area? You DID mention there were ghosts in here before...."
<RedOphiuchus> "That might be better news!" Hoop started. "If not an angel, then the damage won't have been intended to deliberately foil us. There could still be something of use... a harddrive that managed to get out mostly undamaged perhaps..." Anything to ensure this mission was not a total failure, or worse, a waste of time. Coming to an area like this on its own was not entirely worthless, but imagining Bangle's disappointment left a burning sensation in her chest.
<SuperSaiyan5100> “Well that was a bust” She said out loud to no one as she managed to find her way back to the beginning. “Maybe I should have just followed the admin from the start.” She folded her arms and mulled over her decisions for a few moments. She wasn’t going to go back there again. She got lucky this time, but she didn’t want to push her luck. She decided that not getting lost was probably the best option here. And to do that she would have to >Follow the admin. With her decision made, she carefully made her way down and tried to catch up to the others.
<Eevelion> Robe was a little glad that she added rainboots to her dress as they hit the illusionary water at the bottom of the pit. She giggled a bit about the stench “It smells like an ass! Plus we did come in through a hole.” As she caught a glimpse of the orange blur she was tempted to follow it, after all ghosts were more of her purview, but it had disappeared before she had the chance, and something told her it'd be dangerous looking for it in the depths of the vault. The bell seemed to be at least a little safer of a choice, as there was something to lead them to it “Okay, let's go that way then.” She'd chime, heading in the direction she could best tell to be the source.
<FaroresVault> Following Gloves' lead, one of the Admin's assistants would nod in agreement. "That or the screwup that TFC had let loo-" he was violently jabbed in the ribs by another researcher, who was calling up to explain the situation to those at surface level. Disgruntled, the little demon considered the suggestions, glancing about the floor and picking up what data the machine had been spewing out. "You," she pointed at the male "shut the hell up." He put his hands up in the air at chest level. It was past his clearance to talk about it anyway. "But maybe this isn't worthless. Hoops, can you make sense of any of this information? Gloves? Pendant, I don’t assume you’re familiar with Ghost readings…?” She was genuinely unsure, handing some of these Xerox-like sheafs of paper out before examining the computer system itself, and even the areas activity counter. ”No. This doesn’t make sense.” something about her voice sounded strange, like being in a tile room, but not quite. Maybe it was just her positioning that meddled with the acoustics.
<theprophetgamer> The Squad Leader got the message from the Admins below, and with a few hand gestures, the rest of Infantry immediately set up a tighter defense, with guards waiting where they dropped off, covering the 'entrance' just in case something grumpy decided to poke its head out. Guess they got that excitement they wanted!
<Koukaiju> Gloves shot a concerned glance at the blabber, but decided not to think on it too much. She was promptly handed papers, which she started looking over. "Admittedly I may be rusty from taking a good long while on autopilot with research stuff, but this doesn't even look like anything remotely close to data. Like, I feel like I'm reading a Lorem Ipsum for Scientists."
<RedOphiuchus> Looking at the data, Hoop visibly furrowed her brow. A rare break from her generally controlled nature. "I can't make any sense of it. It may be further above my head, and I simply need more experience. Or perhaps the angels encrypted it in some strange way." Things were going very different from how she anticipated.
<SenseiDezzy> “Savages,” Pendant said flatly. Nothing was beautiful about the angels so Pendant could understand the Admin’s frustrations if only a little. She looked over the paper and squinted, even so far as to adjusting her glasses up to see. She turned it around, upside down, and from behind before shrugging. “ Yeah me either.” “Yes it does, good thing your father isn’t here,” she gave a dry chuckle. God was it suddenly just hot down there. She went to wipe her head but as the faint glow of a ghost disappeared she summoned her weapon from her skirt, taking a step in front of Robe with arm out to guard her from moving forward. “Best to leave it be, we can report it once we get back.” Still, she kept her weapon in hand just in case. Pencil made sure to keep herself close at Robe’s side through their trek to find the bell’s source.
<FaroresVault> As Robe and Pencil pushed forward, the sensation of water around their ankles grew stronger. Though the tinkling was clearer, there was a faint sound of radio static coming from a nearby hallway. It had something resembling a light greenish light source the closer they came. >Approach it >Turn back ”No, no no, what the hell,” she continued muttering, her voice continuing to echo strangely in the hall as the machine she was holding – now completely disconnected from anything resembling a power source – began to spit out readings again. “Has anyone gotten a hold of what’s going on up top? This thing shouldn’t be working at all. Not in this sta—“ The Admin and any response to her was suddenly cut off by the deafening shriek of sudden radio interference at full volume.
<RedOphiuchus> Hoop covered her ears, struggling to keep her balance as the sudden sound disoriented her. She gave up trying to process everything mentally and decided to focus on keeping calm and waiting for things to stabalize. Or for the need to run to manifest. Was this the work of a ghost? It was more terrifying than anything she'd experienced in labs. Perhaps that's true of every phenomena studied by scientists.
<Koukaiju> Gloves immediately dropped paper and clutched her ears, trying to look around and locate a possible source for the noise. "GHOST--THIS MUST BE THE WORK OF A GHOST!"
<SuperSaiyan5100> Bowtie ran her way through the maze of the ruins, following the sounds of people’s voices and being careful not to trip on any loose debris or other crap that was strewn across the ground. Just as she stopped for a moment to listen for more sounds, she heard incredibly loud static coming from what she could only assume was from the radio the admin had. “Bingo” she said as she dashed off, following the direction the sound came from, until she stumbled across the admin and the others. “Guys, what’s going on?” She said as she approached the others.
<Eevelion> “It's too bad, he'd love this, well maybe not this,” She'd gesture to their surroundings “But the prospect of a large smelly hole.” Coming up to the glowing hallway Robe felt a sense of dread, gulping she'd continue forward, unwilling to leave without learning anything purposeful.
<SenseiDezzy> Pendant did the same, covering her ears and hissing,” UGH WHAT EVER IT IS IT NEEDS TO SHUT THE HELL UP!”She thought back to that evanescence song and how preferable to this it would be right about now. Pencil cracked a little snort, covering her mouth at the comment. It was true and it was funny dammit. However it was short lived as the sensation of water of up to her knees and the glow green was becoming apparent. Gripping onto her spear she said calmly but cautiously, “ on your guard and stay behind me. We've gotten this far no turning back just yet,” and marched forward.
<FaroresVault> With each step further, Robe and Pencil would begin experiencing a change in their environment. Subtle at first aside from the sensation of the water. The way the area sounded.
[[DATA EXPUNGED]]
With a final lurch, most of the group found themselves violently expelled from the shared delirium of whatever that was. They would also find themselves completely disarmed and without any method of communication. Even so far away from the ruins, something about the ground felt wet, as if there were three inches of water. And yet, as before, there was none. This would not be easy to explain at headquarters, and the expressions on the faces of the Admin and other higher-ups said that clear as day. They’d lost around 70% of their escort team today. And there was absolutely no gear left over to prove it. “D…..does someone still have those…weird….readings…?” the Admin blubbered, digging around in her pockets, finding only a sheet of the dozens which had been printed. Somewhere in the depths of the lower floors of Sigma, lay a neatly and carefully arranged pile of Infantry gear, communications tools, and namesakes. Surrounding it, the gentle sound of a tinkling bell. If you listened very closely, you could hear pacing, and a quivering, confused voice. [[DATA EXPUNGED]]
<SenseiDezzy> Pendant tumbled and rolled to the ground as she was spat out from the void. Once she came to a stop she just groaned pathetically. She can’t believe she was thinking this, but she never wanted to go back to the void again. Pencil embraced for impact and wobbled back up soon as she can, “ We made it… we” It was then she noticed he hand was empty. She spun he head around and some others had made but where was… A pit welled in her stomach as looked back at the site, the pink fading from her face. “R…robe…”
<SuperSaiyan5100> Bowtie quickly sprinted towards the door. When she approached the threshold of the doorway, she felt the ground shake beneath her. She quickly dodged the shrapnel and other debris suddenly flying her way, and jumped through the threshold and landed outside face first. She coughed and groaned as she tried to regain her breath from the exertion she put forth.
<Eevelion> Robe tumbled as she was expelled from the house of horrors, boy was she glad she was alive, that was very very close. It took her a moment, but she came to realize her robe was missing, she really... wasn't fond of the idea of going back to retrieve, she didn't even know if it was possible but... she did pick it out with DD. She gulped, please just spit it out or something.
<Koukaiju> Gloves was blasted out of a door and, frankly, she was already in midflight, it could've been worse, probably. She was careening at an incredibly high speed, managing to even out after a while and land nearby the others, breathing heavily. Well that happened.
