Dazai unironically being good at wound care. He not only picked up some things from studying Mori, but because he needed to learn how to keep his own wounds clean as a kid. He also has extensive knowledge about different kinds of wounds since he...unfortunately has dealt with many of them.

Chuuya turning to Dazai for help in patching his wounds up since Dazai's just a little too good at that and at making sure bandages stay on. Also, he knows which brand is best and the most durable.

Dazai jokes about the fact Chuuya came to him of all people, but he helps without question. Chuuya's either lying on the couch or on his bed with an arm over his eyes refusing to look as Dazai hums a tune to himself and wraps a layer of bandages up the length of Chuuya's injured leg.

AU where Dazai and Chuuya both escape the lab together and grow up on the streets together

Dazai would be a menace in the Sheep, but just as Chuuya ended up having leadership responsibilities shoved off onto him, a makeshift hierarchy would form and Dazai would just kinda...naturally fall in line with being his righthand man in the sense of decision making because while he might not be the best at self-preservation and street smarts, he knows his way around the underworld a little too much

But also skk being in survival mode 24/7 because they're just constantly waiting for something bad to happen as they're plagued by nightmares of the lab again and the awful things they endured—but Chuuya's not alone in his suffering. They have each other. And Dazai would quite literally kill for him and steal the clothes off the back of some drunk dude if asked to

They make little campfires in the dead of winter and huddle by the flames to tell funny, lighthearted stories of being on the streets: Chuuya found a cat colony recently, while Dazai sneaked into an illegal gambling den and robbed a mafia agent of their money (and may or may not have made a target out of himself for swindling)

Dazai thinks it's hilarious because he has more money than he knows what to do with now (and offers to buy Chuuya some things like gloves and a hat and thicker coat) and Chuuya just looks at him in disbelief like he's an idiot.

also i know a lot of people see dazai as like, a father figure for atsushi?? but fr i think they're like brothers because ain't no way dazai's responsible or emotionally competent enough to be a father figure
