Light summer breeze. Petals falling down in the most satisfying way, pooling at your feet as you walk to the beat of your heart, holding the handle of your umbrella tight enough to whiten your knuckles.
The crickets were out now that the darkness had fallen, a slight drizzle of rain warming your blood. You were wearing an oversized sweater and some shorts that were hidden underneath the fabric you wore on your upper half, a pair of old sneakers to match.
You had decided to take a late night walk, eyes red and puffy from too much crying. You had been having some boy trouble and had been embarrassed in front of probably your whole university, so crying was the only way to make you feel less shitty, and no one could tell you otherwise. You had been walking for a few minutes and stopped by your favorite café near Han River, going to stand over the bridge running over the river after ordering yourself some coffee. You were sniffing the air with closed eyes when you suddenly opened them to what you had assumed was an angel, before you realized that he didn't have wings.
He was wearing a creamy beige turtle neck sweater and jeans with ankle high boots, his black hair falling very gently into his face and accentuating his jawline as he watched the water as if it was the most interesting thing on earth. He had a see-through umbrella over his shoulder, the fairy lights that were attached to it only making him look that much more angelic, if it were possible.
You continued shamelessly staring at the gorgeous stranger, eventually wandering over and standing next to him.
"Penny for your thoughts, stranger?" you asked in a light voice, a warm smile adorning your face.
The angel turned to look at you slowly, eyes jumping around questioningly, as if to ask "Who? Me?"
You immediately decide that this angel was cute and that you wanted to keep him, your smile getting wider. Just a few hours ago you had embarrassed yourself in front of everyone you knew while talking to a boy that you liked, yet here you were making it seem effortless.
"Do I know you?" He asked in the most honey like voice you had ever heard, the sound strangely addictive. Still smiling, you shook your head with a shrug.
"Not at all." You giggled childishly at the way his brow furrowed in confusion, at his mercy, completely helpless to his charms. "I just noticed the way you were staring at the water and you look like you're thinking very deeply about something," you explained, heart jumping into his hands when he laughed in disbelief, tilting his head at you with a smile.
"Is that so?"
You nodded, your cheeks starting to ache from smiling too much.
"Why don't I tell you over a cup of coffee, since we're at a café?" he asked cheekily, a grin pulling at his lips.
You nodded eagerly, taking his hand and pulling him over to the seating area. You turned to look at him with a grin of your own before saying, "Great idea! I've already ordered."
---
After sitting down he introduced himself as Kang Younghyun, occasionally called Brian by his close friends, who was majoring in Business at your university with Music as his extra classes. You told him your name, telling him that you’re majoring in Writing, hoping to become an editor (since you weirdly enough enjoy editing), and that you were taking art and music as extra classes.
"So then, Younghyun, you sill haven't answered my first question," you said matter-of-factly, sipping at your latte with a raised brow.
"Oh, that? I thought that was you flirting?" he mused with a smirk, the teasing tone in his voice making you chortle.
"Oh no it was, but I'm genuinely curious," you said, chortling at the way he laughed disbelievingly.
"I was thinking about how I need to man up and ask this girl I like in my music class out." he said, shrugging as he sighed deeply.
"Oh, you like someone?" you asked dejectedly, playing with your coffee cup. Brian nodded, sighing again.
"Well then," you said, slamming your fist against the table and gaining not only Younghyun's attention but a few people around you's attention as well.
"I say, go for it! I doubt you have anything to lose," you encouraged him confidently. He raised a brow with a smirk, looking at you as if to say "excuse me what?"
You rolled your eyes before starting to explain.
"Listen, Brian—can I call you Brian?"
"Go ahead." He smiled.
"Right then, Brian, listen. You seriously have nothing to lose. Maybe a smudge of pride but that's nothing. I mean have you seen yourself? I'm sure every girl would be willing to throw themselves at you, hell, sign me up!" you rambled on, hands all over the place and not realizing the way Younghyun was looking at you.
"You really think so?" he asked softly, making you think of a puppy, your heart melting.
You nodded solemnly, smiling at him.
"Definitely."
With the most shit eating grin ever, he cleared his throat. "Okay, then. Y/N, I really like you and would like to take you to dinner."
“Oh, shit.”

When You Need Me Most | Part 4
Jeongin x Reader (implied female but can be read as gn!)
Pt1 Pt2 Pt3
MASTERLIST
It seemed that Jeongin hadn’t realized it only took the bare minimum to kickstart your fall.
And it seemed he took after the most dramatic hyung; thinking grand over the top displays of romance were the key to your fragile heart.
It started with the billboard.
You were on your way to the doctors, your tired eyes staring at the street ahead as you sipped on an iced coffee. You heard honking and looked at what the commotion was about. You realized someone a dozen cars up in the morning traffic was leaning out their window to take a picture of a billboard.
A billboard with your face on it.
Or a painting of your face. A pretty damn accurate one at that.
Damn you Hwang Hyunjin. Can’t you say no to your [precious little baby once in a while?
You felt a flash of embarrassment as you read the words adorning the billboard.
I love you, my nabi - YJ
You moved up in the sea of traffic at the pace of a snail as more and more people were taking pictures.
“Ahhh.” You said honking, feeling frustrated at the weird warmth rising in your chest.
Next it was a flash mob.
You were innocently walking towards the JYP building to bring the boys coffee when you heard familiar music echoing through the streets.
There were people crowded around the building which made sense since it was a hub of activity for many’s favorite idols. But there were way more people than usual.
Confused, you pulled out your earbuds and pushed through the crowd to find a group of masked people that looked oddly familiar in front of the building.
Once you came into sight the music immediately started- some gushy american pop song about love you loved blaring from three separate stereo systems.
Your eyes widened when you realized why these dancers seemed so familiar- ITZY, TWICE, NEXZ, Day6 - the kids obviously.
Your heart sank when you spotted Jeongin in the center, dancing with an infectious smile by the look of his eyes above the mask, his energy radiating as he led the group through your favorite song. As they finished, the crowd erupted into applause, and you felt your face flush with embarrassment.
“What do you think?” he asked, breathless and grinning from ear to ear as he rushed over.
“Think? Jeongin, you can’t just do things like that!” you protested, shaking your head, desperate to maintain your composure. “What the hell are you thinking?!” You grit through your teeth as you hide your face from people who were taking pictures. You were upset; but grateful at the TWICE girls for blocking the cameras that were pointing towards you and I.N. - they had quickly noticed that you were uncomfortable and being girls girls helped out. Your heart was pounding in your chest as you glared at Jeongin.
It's pounding because you're angry Y/N. Not because you’re totally swooning over this. Not because the crowd thinks we’re cute together and keeps chanting for me to accept…not because this is the most romantic thing I’ve experienced. It's because I’m angry. You tried to convince yourself.
“But I wanted you to know how much you mean to me!” he argued, eyes sparkling with excitement. “Now basically the entire company knows. And they support.” He said stubbornly.
“You’re insufferable, Yang Jeongin.” You said. He grabbed the coffee carriers from your hands and let out a soft giggle, the moment he turned away a smile resting on your face for a split second.
Days turned into weeks, and Jeongin’s antics only escalated. There was the movie theater rental. Then the 1000 roses.
The fucking blimp.
“Why do you keep doing this?” you demanded one evening, arms crossed and lips pressed tightly together. “This is ridiculous!”
Your cheeks were burning with embarrassment. Jeongin had invited you out to dinner and you were surprised by a serenade from the waiting staff. The attention from everyone made you feel like a bug under a microscope.
“Because I love you!” he shot back, a mix of frustration and affection in his voice. “Why can’t you see that?”
You huffed, trying to hold your ground. “Love isn’t supposed to be all...this! It’s supposed to be normal! I mean, you could just text me like a normal person! Or like take me on a normal date where I don’t have an entire restaurant singing me Frank Sinatra.”
“I want everyone to know how I feel! Especially you. Which is why I do it in public.” he responded, seemingly oblivious to your embarrassment.
“Your public image is at stake! What do you think people will say?”
His eyes dimmed momentarily but then brightened again with determination. “I don’t care what they say if it means making you smile! Which believe it or not Y/N I know you like these romantic gestures.”
“What’s next, Jeongin? A plane with a message?” you snapped.
“Would you like that?” he teased, his playful nature unyielding.
“My point is when is it going to stop?”
“When you become my girlfriend. So the ball is in your court Nabi-”
“Jeongin!” you groaned, frustrated. “This needs to stop! You’re making it impossible for me to breathe!”
He looked at you, genuine hurt in his eyes. “But Y/N-ah.” He whined. “I just wanted to make you feel loved.”
“No more Jeongin or the deal is off. You’re going to ruin your public image if you-”
You watched Jeongin shake his head at something behind you and when you turned you saw someone with a shocked and regretful face watching as a small heard of tiny dogs rushed at you. All with flowers in their mouths, and wagging tails as they dropped them at your feet and jumping up on their hind legs like circus performers.
You heard Jeongin groan in embarrassment.
You felt a mix of warmth and irritation flood you like a tidal wave. Such powerful emotions you felt tears fall from your eyes. “It’s too much! I love you, but I can’t handle this! You’re insane Yang Jeongin.” You couldn’t help but smile as the tears continued to fall, squatting down to pet the dogs as they happily yipped and lapped up your tears.
He blinked, confusion clouding his expression. “What did you say?”
You laughed and started wiping at your tears, not knowing what you were feeling.
“What?” You laughed out, not able to control the smile on your face, as you watched the dogs make their way back to who you assumed to be their trainer.
“You…said you loved me.”
You looked up at Jeongin, his face a mixture of shock and hope and excitement.
You quickly replayed the words you had said and your eyes widened in surprise. “I didn’t mean- I meant-”
Before you could finish, he stepped closer, cupping your face in his hands, his sincerity palpable. “You love me?” His eyes were wide and curious.
You felt your heart flutter, torn between annoyance and the undeniable warmth swelling within you. You had never been one to slip up your words badly, rather you said what was constantly on your mind.
But you were stubborn. Even though you knew you were so undoubtedly in love with him.
“Jeongin, you can’t just-”
His lips brushed against yours, soft and tentative, igniting a spark that made you forget your stubborn resolve. When he pulled away, his eyes searched yours, hopeful yet vulnerable. “This is the happiest moment in my entire life.”
You sighed, a rueful laugh bubbling up in your chest. “Me saying I love you is the happiest moment in your life?” You asked in disbelief.
“Hm.” He said with a sharp nod, eyes twinkling.
“What about your debut?”
“No. Nothing compared to this.” His energy was infectious, and before you could say anything else, Jeongin started bouncing up and down like a little kid who had just received the best gift in the world. His excitement was so intense that it became less of a bounce and more of a shake, his whole body trembling with joy.
You couldn’t help the smile that tugged at your lips as you watched him. “Jeongin, stop. You look ridiculous,” you said, though the fondness in your voice was undeniable.
He grinned wider, shaking even harder. “I don’t care. You love me, Y/N. You said it. That’s all I care about!”
You rolled your eyes, trying to suppress the warmth that flooded your chest. “You’re seriously acting like a child right now.”
"Then I guess I’m a child in love," he shot back with a wink, still practically vibrating with excitement. "You don’t understand, Y/N. You saying that… it means everything to me." His voice wavered, growing softer.
Suddenly, the bravado slipped away, and his eyes started to gloss over with tears. “I’m so happy, Nabi,” he whispered, his lips trembling as he pouted, struggling to hold back his emotions. His usually bright, mischievous demeanor melted into something raw, something unguarded, and the sight of it made your chest tighten.
You swallowed hard, caught between wanting to comfort him and feeling overwhelmed by the weight of it all. “Jeongin, I…”
He took a shaky breath, blinking rapidly as if trying to fight off the tears, but they brimmed at the corners of his eyes. “I know I’m ridiculous,” he laughed softly, the sound shaky. “I know the billboard, the roses, the flash mobs… all of it was too much. But I didn’t know how else to show you. I wanted you to see how much I-”
“Stop,” you cut him off gently, your heart aching as you reached out to grab his hand, squeezing it tight. “It’s not that I don’t see it, Jeongin. I see it. But…” you gestured vaguely in the air, your voice trembling. “You’re risking everything- your career, your image- all for me. I don’t want you to jeopardize all of that because of some grand gestures.”
His face fell, and for a moment, you feared you’d broken something fragile between you. He pulled his hand away from yours, running it through his hair in frustration. “I don’t care about my image, Y/N. I care about you. How many times do I have to tell you? You’re not listening!”
“I am listening. But you’re not being reasonable. You should care!” you blurted, your frustration finally spilling out. “You’ve worked your whole life to get here, to be where you are. And I’m just-”
“Don’t you dare say you’re just anyone,” Jeongin interrupted, his voice sharper now, filled with emotion. “You’re not just someone, Y/N. You’re my someone.”
You stared at him, your pulse racing, feeling the weight of his words between you. His eyes were wide, shining with sincerity.
“I don’t care what anyone says about us. About me. I don’t care what I have to give up, because you-” he stepped closer, his hands cupping your face so gently, his thumbs brushing away a tear that you didn’t even realize had fallen, “-are worth more than any career, any public image, or any of this.”
You felt your breath catch in your throat as his words settled into your heart, breaking through the walls you had tried to keep up. It was terrifying, knowing he was willing to sacrifice so much, just for you.
“Jeongin…” you whispered, shaking your head. “I love you. So much I’m scared sometimes.”
His eyes softened, and he gave you a bittersweet smile. “I love you too.” He said it so casually, like it was the easiest thing in the world for him, but it hit you like a tidal wave.
“What if-” you stammered, your heart racing. “What if-”
If this ends badly. You wanted to say. But you had no room because he leaned down without hesitation and kissed you.
It was soft, hesitant, and full of every unsaid word that had been hanging between you for so long.
Well, unsaid on your end.
The world seemed to slow around you, the chaos fading as his lips moved gently against yours, and for the first time in a while, you felt like everything made sense.
When he pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, his breath coming out shaky. “You keep trying to say you didn’t mean to say it,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. “But I’m glad you did. Even if its not true…”
You opened your eyes slowly, looking up at him, completely disarmed. “It is true. It’s the truest thing I’ve ever said.” Your voice was barely audible, and Jeongin let out a relieved laugh.
“Thank God,” he said, placing his forehead on yours with a soft smile. “I’ll stop the blimps, the billboards, the flash mobs.” His hands slid from your face, falling to rest gently on your waist, his grip warm and steady. “I’ll stop all of it, if that’s what you want.” His nose brushed against your cheek, eliciting a soft giggle from you as he gave you feather light kisses.
You stared at him, your heart aching, unsure of how to respond. He was offering you everything, offering to quiet the chaos he had created, just for you. And yet, there was a part of you that realized something.
It wasn’t the grand gestures that overwhelmed you- it was the fact that they were for you.
“I didn’t need all of that,” you said softly, your voice barely above a whisper. “I didn’t need the blimp or the roses or the billboard to know how you feel. I’ve known for a while…I was just too afraid to admit it.”
Jeongin’s brows furrowed in confusion.
You sighed, shaking your head. “It scared me. Loving you- being loved by you- it scared me. I was afraid that we’d lose everything we had if we…if we crossed that line. That we would end up like…” You frowned. “You're special to me, Innie. I didn’t want love to ruin anything.”
He let out a small, incredulous laugh, his eyes filled with so much warmth it nearly broke you. His eyes crinkled into those cute mischievous ones you loved oh so much. “Y/N, love isn’t what ruins things. It’s not love that causes the problems. It’s fear. Fear of messing up, fear of losing control. Fear that we’ll get hurt. And it’s not even really the fear. Its letting that fear control you.”
You swallowed hard, his words hitting too close to home. “But what if we do mess up? What if we ruin everything?”
He smiled gently, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “We probably will. But that’s life, isn’t it? We’re going to mess up, we’re going to make mistakes. But that doesn’t mean we should stop loving each other. Or that we’re going to. You just have to push past those fears; those mistakes made, arguments had. You push past them and then your love grows stronger.”
Tears stung at the back of your eyes as you met his gaze, feeling the sincerity in his every word. He was right- love wasn’t the problem. It was the fear of it, the fear of losing something so good that kept you from truly letting go.
“You’re strangely profound tonight, Jeongin.” You giggled, more tears threatening to go. You cupped his cheek and caressed it, as he leaned into your touch looking you in the eyes. “Where’d my Innie go?”
“He grew up so he could take better care of you.” He responded softly. “I love you,” he said again, his voice full of quiet conviction. “And I don’t need a thousand roses or a flashing billboard to prove it. I just need you to trust me. Trust that we’ll figure it out together. Trust me that I’m not going to hurt you like everyone else. Trust me that I’m going to be there for you when you need me most.”
You bit your lip, nodding as a tear finally slipped down your cheek. “I do. I trust you.”
Jeongin smiled, his thumb brushing away your tears. “Good. Because I’m all in, Nabi. No more over-the-top gestures. Just…you and me.”
You let out a shaky laugh, leaning into him as he pulled you into his arms. “Just you and me,” you whispered, finally feeling the weight you thought would never leave lift from your chest.

Two Years Later
The stadium was alive with the kind of energy only a sold-out show could create. The crowd roared with excitement, thousands of fans screaming as Stray Kids performed their final song of the night. You watched from backstage, your heart racing with pride as Jeongin worked the stage like the pro he was, every movement precise and electric.
He caught your eye for a brief second from across the stage and flashed that familiar grin, the one that still made your stomach flip even after all these years. You smiled back, knowing that even after everything, he was still the same Jeongin- your Jeongin. The one who would text you random memes at 2 a.m., who would bring you snacks even when you didn’t ask, who had once rented out an entire billboard just to make sure you knew how much he loved you.
It had been quiet since then. After that night two years ago, the grand gestures stopped. No more blimps, no more flash mobs, no more roses delivered in bulk to your door. It was just the two of you now, living a quieter kind of love- a love that didn’t need to shout to be heard.
But something in the way he looked at you tonight was different. His eyes sparkled with that familiar mischief, and you felt a twinge of curiosity in your gut.
As the final notes of the song faded out, Jeongin took a step forward, raising his hand to signal for the crowd to quiet down. His bandmates exchanged glances, a few of them smiling knowingly, and you furrowed your brows.
Something was definitely up.
“Thank you for tonight!” Jeongin shouted into the mic, in English his voice echoing through the stadium. His accent made you smile and you wanted to pinch his cheeks like the cute little baby bread he was- even if the way he looked now made him seem like “daddy toast” as Stay had put it oh so perfectly. The crowd cheered wildly in response, and you chuckled to yourself, always amazed at how much love and support he had.
But then, his voice softened. "Before we go...I, um...I have something I want to say. Or, well, maybe something I need to do." He glanced backstage, locking eyes with you again, and your stomach flipped for an entirely different reason this time.
Your eyes widened as he waved you over, the spotlight suddenly shifting in your direction. The crowd let out a collective gasp as they realized who he was looking at, murmurs of recognition rippling through the audience.
“Y/N-ah,” he called, his smile growing impossibly wider and his dimple showing. “Can you come out here for a second?”
Your heart pounded in your chest, and your feet felt glued to the floor. The staff nudged you forward, and you hesitated for a moment before stepping onto the stage. As you approached, Jeongin held out his hand, his eyes glowing with something beyond excitement- something deeper, more vulnerable.
Once you reached him, he took your hand in his, his grip steady and warm despite the fact that the stadium was roaring with thousands of fans. You could feel the eyes of every person in the room on you, but all you could focus on was him- Jeongin, standing there with that look in his eyes that made you feel like you were the only person in the world.
“I know I promised no more grand gestures,” he began, his voice soft but steady. “And I’ve been good, haven’t I?”
You chuckled nervously, nodding. “Yeah, you have.”
Jeongin grinned, but then his expression shifted, becoming more serious. “But the thing is…I lied.”
The crowd erupted in laughter, but you stood there, frozen in place, not sure what to expect.
He took a deep breath, his gaze never leaving yours. “A few nights ago, I was drunk- like, really drunk- and I was crying. Like full-on sobbing to the guys. And you walked in and saw me crying and the guys recording me…?” He looked at you with an expectant gaze.
And it clicked.
You felt tears starting to form.
Jeongin spoke again, turning to Stay for just a moment. “For context I was crying because I was so drunk that I saw a picture of Y/N and I and was sad because I thought the person I loved most had a boyfriend.” He chuckled. “Even thought I was literally looking at a picture of us- and I am Y/N’s boyfriend.”
The crowd bursted out laughing again, knowing that was on point for their precious maknae.
Jeongin bit his lip, his eyes glistening with emotion. “But then my hyungs started recording again because I started crying again. Harder this time.” He swallowed. “Because I realized that I’m not your husband.”
Your breath hitched, and your heart felt like it was about to leap out of your chest. The crowd gasped, murmurs sweeping through the stadium again, but all you could focus on was Jeongin- his trembling lips, the way his hands shook just slightly as he held yours.
“I kept telling myself that I didn’t need to do something crazy to prove how much I love you. But then I realized…I want to. I want to do one last grand gesture.”
With that, he slowly dropped to one knee.
Your hands flew to your mouth, your eyes filling with tears as you realized what was happening. Deep down you knew he was going to propose once he brought up that story, but for some reason you didn’t believe it. But now there was no denying it.
The entire stadium fell silent, the weight of the moment settling in like a wave crashing down.
Jeongin looked up at you, his smile trembling as he pulled a small velvet box from his pocket. “Baby…I know I’ve been over the top before. I know I’ve done a lot of wild, stupid things. But this isn’t one of them. This-” he opened the box to reveal a stunning ring, the lights catching the diamonds in a way that made it sparkle like a star, “ - is the one thing I’m doing because I’ve never been more certain about anything in my life.”
Your breath hitched, your vision blurring as tears streamed down your cheeks.
“Will you marry me, Nabi?” His voice cracked slightly, the vulnerability in his words breaking your heart in the best way possible. “Because I can’t imagine a life where I’m not the one by your side. I don’t need blimps or billboards. I just need you.”
The silence in the stadium was deafening, every single person holding their breath as they waited for your answer.
You swallowed hard, your voice shaking as you whispered, “Yes. Yes, Innie.”
The crowd exploded in cheers, the noise so loud it felt like the stadium itself might burst apart. But all you could hear was the sound of your heartbeat rising in your ears, pounding in your chest as Jeongin stood up, pulling you into his arms.
He kissed you then, in front of thousands of screaming fans, in the middle of the most important moment of both your lives. It was soft, gentle, and filled with so much love that it made your knees weak.
When you finally pulled away, breathless and laughing through your tears, Jeongin looked down at you with the same adoring smile he’d always had. “I guess I broke my promise about no more grand gestures, huh?”
You chuckled, wiping at your tears. “I think I’ll let this one slide.”
Jeongin grinned, his eyes sparkling as he slid the ring onto your finger. “Good. Because this is the only one that really mattered.”
You looked at the ring then up at Jeongin who was crying now too. Suddenly, it all became too much. The adrenaline, the disbelief, the overwhelming joy- it hit you like a tidal wave. You turned away from Jeongin, your chest rising and falling with uneven breaths, and squatted down, covering your face with your hands. The tears came pouring out uncontrollably, your entire body trembling as you tried to process everything that had just happened.
The cheers from the crowd were deafening, but you could still hear the boys- your boys; you family -in the background, reacting to what had just unfolded.
Lee Know tried to maintain his composure, but even he couldn’t stop the flood of emotions that broke through. He was crying, full fledged crying and clinging to Changbin which was a strange and unfamiliar sight to you. Changbin’s grin was impossibly wide, despite the tears rolling down his face. He leaned into Lee Know, giving him a hard smack on the back as if to say, “Can you believe this? Our maknae - our little baby did it.”
Chan, had crumbled into a full sob as well, his shoulders shaking as he wiped furiously at his eyes, looking at Jeongin with a mixture of pride and disbelief. He was holding onto Han, who was also crying but trying to comfort his hyung at the same time, patting his back as tears streamed down his own cheeks.
Felix, Hyunjin and Seungmin were all huddled up crying as well, trying to pull someone up onto the stage. You couldn’t help but let out an excited squeal as your favorite Aussie - sorry Channie, sorry Lix - came running to you from the crowd.
She didn’t care as she pushed Jeongin out of the way to fall onto the ground and hug her best friend.
“Oh my GOD!! Y/N, my love!!” Hannah cried as she clung to you, pulling back to look at your face.
All of them - every single one of them - were crying, their hearts bursting with happiness for the youngest member of their group, the boy they’d watched grow from a shy teenager into a man who was standing on stage, proposing to the love of his life.
And Stay…Stay was losing their minds.
It was as if they didn’t know whether to cheer, cry, or scream. Some fans had tears streaming down their faces, waving their lightsticks in support. A collective wave of emotion washed through the crowd as the realization hit- Jeongin, their precious maknae, was in love. Truly, deeply in love. And it wasn’t just some fleeting romance; it was real, profound, the kind of love you could only dream about.
Some fans covered their faces in disbelief, others jumped up and down in pure joy, and more than a few had collapsed into sobs, overwhelmed by the moment. Their phones were held high in the air, capturing every second of this life-altering event. They knew this wasn’t just a regular concert anymore- it was history in the making. Probably the most elaborate proposal one had seen. A story that would be told for years to come.
Jeongin stood there, watching you cling to Hannah with a soft, tender smile, and then, without saying a word, he crouched down beside you. He didn’t pull you up immediately, just rested a gentle hand on your back, giving you the space you needed to breathe, to process. After a moment, you peeked up at him through your fingers, a half-sob, half-laugh escaping your lips as you took in his watery smile.
“I’m really sorry for this,” Jeongin murmured, his voice still shaky with emotion, “but I couldn’t wait any longer.”
You shook your head, laughing through your tears as you wiped at your face. “I should’ve known you’d find a way to break your promise.”
He chuckled softly, his hand still rubbing comforting circles on your back. “Just this one time. I couldn’t help it, Nabi.”
Finally, you stood up, still feeling weak in the knees, Hannah letting you use her as a crutch, and Jeongin pulled you into his arms. He held you so tight it was as if he was afraid you might slip away, his chin resting on top of your head as you both soaked in the moment. He pet your hair as the rest of the boys crowded around, not caring about the stage or the cameras. One by one, they pulled you and Jeongin into the tightest, warmest group hug you’d ever been a part of - Hannah stubbornly pushing past her brother to join - each of them sniffling and wiping their eyes as they squeezed you both.
Lee Know, still crying, ruffled Jeongin’s hair with a grin, “I can’t believe you actually did it.”
“I can’t believe I’m crying,” Han muttered through his tears, which made everyone laugh.
“I can you’re a crybaby.” Seungmin said through his now quieted tears, which only made everyone laugh even harder.
Chan gave you a squeeze, patting your head, his voice thick with emotion. “I’m so proud of you, Jeongin.”
You glanced up at Jeongin through the sea of arms wrapped around you, his face still glowing with pure happiness. As the boys and your best friend slowly pulled away, Jeongin took a deep breath, turning to face the crowd one last time. He was still holding your hand, his fingers laced tightly with yours as he raised your joined hands in the air.
“I just have one last thing to say,” he began, his voice resonating through the stadium as the audience quieted down. He looked at you with so much love, his eyes soft and bright. “A message for Stays.”
He looked at you and you nodded, having a sixth sense to what he would say.
Jeongin stood there, his voice steady but full of emotion, addressing not just you but every single person in the crowd. His hand, still holding yours, gave a reassuring squeeze, but his eyes drifted over the sea of fans- his Stays. His heart was laid bare, his words filled with a kind of truth that could only come from experiencing love in its rawest form.
“The problem is never that you loved someone or someone loved you…” he continued, his voice resonating across the stadium. “It’s how you choose to handle that love. How you react when it gets hard, when it feels overwhelming, when you’re scared of it. But love itself? Love doesn’t hurt you. People do. Choices do. But love…love heals.”
He took a deep breath, his gaze now sweeping the audience as if speaking to each of them personally. “I know some of you might feel like love is scary. That it’s a risk, that it can break you, or ruin things, or mess with everything you’ve worked for. But love doesn’t destroy. It builds you up. It pushes you to be the best version of yourself. It’s what makes life worth it.”
The crowd, which had been buzzing with excitement, grew silent, every word sinking into the hearts of those watching. Tears filled the eyes of fans as Jeongin’s vulnerability hit them all at once. The sincerity in his voice made it impossible not to feel the weight of his message.
“I know sometimes it feels easier to give up on love, to protect yourself from the possibility of getting hurt. But the truth is…love will always be there, waiting for you to embrace it. When you shut it out, you’re shutting out the best parts of yourself.” His voice softened, but the emotion behind it was more powerful than ever. “When you need someone the most, when you feel like you can’t do it alone, love will always be there. That’s what love is for.”
A gentle breeze seemed to sweep through the arena, carrying his words like a warm hug. He glanced at you, a soft smile tugging at his lips as he turned back to the crowd.
“So, don’t be afraid of it. Don’t run from it. Don’t think it’ll ruin things, because love will only ruin you if you don’t give it a chance. Trust me, I’ve had to teach that to people firsthand.” He turned to you and kissed your forehead.
“And I thought that I had to prove that fact with grand gestures, but in the end, all that matters is being there. When someone needs you most.”
He whispered to you.
“When you need me most, I’ll be there. That’s love.”
With that, he leaned down, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to your lips, sealing the promise that he had made- not just to you, but to everyone who believed in love.
You smiled through your tears, reaching up to touch his cheek gently as you two kissed.
When you had needed him most he had shown up.
You had always needed him. And he had always been there.
And you knew he’d always would be.

To my love,
Everything I am about to say does not mean I want us to get back together. We still would not work; I am moving too many miles away from you. This letter is just me bringing up the past, all the memories of you that remain with me.
Huh. Where do I even begin? I will start with one of the things I appreciate the most about you. You never missed a single day to tell me that you loved me, from the moment we woke in the morning to before we went to sleep at night, you told me. I just wanted to let you know I remember that.
The way your round, dark brown, sparkly eyes looked at me. They always stared back at me with admiration, interest and love. When your sweet voice called out to me, sang me to sleep, and even just rang out a small laugh to light a spark in my day.
I know memories of me and us have probably just become something of the past. You most likely already moved on from those moments. Whatever I saw and experienced is all to be left alone now. But I wanted to let you know how much they meant to me, how much you meant to me.
Without missing a single moment, you always thought of me first.
Whether it was making sure I did not leave the house without a sweater because you knew I always get cold at night. Or how you would hold onto my hand so you would not lose me in the crowd because I have a terrible sense of direction. The way you looked to see if I was wearing my seatbelt before you put on your own. Or how you made sure my first time was perfect.
Even when things were not your fault, you said sorry, like when the ice cream parlour we went to was out of my favourite flavour. There was no way it could have been your fault, but you still apologized the whole way home.
Thank you, I remember that.
You were beautiful.
Everything just- everything about you to me was just-
You were beautiful. You left the feeling of not wanting anything more. The moments that only you gave me. From the thoughtless pillow talk, the inside jokes that sent us into a childlike glee, to the earnest pep talks to push me to my fullest.
Everything has passed, but Jungkook, you were so beautiful.
I still think of you sometimes. I heard that the choreography you created got used for a song, and it is all the talk right now. Congrats! I had wondered, “Should I call him?” There were a lot of times I thought that, but I know it’s already over.
No matter how much I want you, you are just a movie of the past, a beautiful motion picture that has already ended. I know that.
Even the last time your round, dark brown sparkly eyes looked at me filled with tears and your angelic voice, the one that heartbrokenly said, “Goodbye, take care”.
You were beautiful to me even then.
The moments I had with you, everything has passed.
But we were so beautiful.
Love, Y/N

IVE! Band! Yujin x Band! F reader: An underground band battle stirs jealousy in Yujin, simmering over your toxic ex. Fate pulls Y/n to Yujin’s door after an unexpected turn, and hidden emotions rise. Tension lingers unspoken between them, the undeniable pull neither can fully explain.
Word Count: 7k
Author's Note: *Warnings of substance abuse and heavy use of strong language.* This one is gonna be a bit long, so hold on to your horses, ya'll. Again, major heads up, the lyrics are in the song's English lyrics for better interpretation.
⚠︎ Directions ⇒ Main | Previous | Next
It was finally a Monday morning; Yujin sat at her desk, drifting off as she thought about your face and looked back from the night two weeks ago. She clutched her short hair in frustration, not knowing what to make of her feelings. “Miss Ahn!”
She hears the high-pitched voice running towards her, and she looks up with haste to find a little girl named Heiran who has a bright smile on her face. “Miss Jung said when I finished, I should give the paper to you!” The older smiled at the girl, who giggled as Yujin patted her head. “What score do you think you’re gonna get, Hei Hei?” The little girl crosses her arms, trying to think of an acceptable answer. As if a light bulb flickered in her little head, her eyes widened. “A one thousand percent!”
“Really now? One thousand?” Yujin giggled as she nodded her head furiously. “Okay, okay. I’ll grade this now and hand it to Miss Jung, alright? Just go take your seat and wait until the bell rings.”
She takes out a red pen to mark the paper as Heiran sits back down at her desk. Out of every girl in both bands, Yujin probably has the most surprising part-time job as a teaching assistant. The girl didn’t necessarily want to be a teacher, but it was her dream as a child, and it certainly has decent pay. So, while her band wasn’t explosive, this was going to have to do.
It was already the end of the school day, and the students were taking a small quiz, and then everyone would get to go home. After a quick forty-five minutes and every kid handed in their papers, Yujin was able to mark all of them before sundown. As she got home, she sat in her car, her head leaning back, and she kept her eyes shut. The thoughts of you had just drained her. You were just constantly in her head rent free.
You guys didn’t even get to talk or interact the last time, Yujin’s brain just went into a frenzy and left without saying a word to anyone in the venue. Suddenly, Yujin jolts up from her chair as she hears the frantic knocking on her window. She looks over and sees that Yena smiles and waves when Yujin finally notices her.
The younger girl rolled down her window slightly, and Yena peeked through, “Are you crazy?”
“Actually, yeah, maybe a little.”
Yujin turns off her car and exits, shutting the car door tiringly. “What’s up with you? You’ve been spacing out so much these past few days.” Yujin rolls her eyes a little, not wanting to talk about it with anyone. “Work has just been on my ass. That’s pretty much it, though.”
The two entered Yujin’s building, and she used her passcode to get in. “So about our gig at ‘Substructure,’ they confirmed the date is gonna be in two weeks, so we have to prepare for that.”
Yujin nodded as she opened the door to her apartment but soon paused, “Wait, you could’ve sent that in the group chat… so why did you come here?” She looks at her unnie suspiciously, and Yena shyly puts her head down. “I may have wanted to ask if I could borrow that new backless Saint Laurent dress you got a few weeks ago?”
The latter rolled her eyes with a smile, “Yeah, knock yourself out in my closet.”
As Yena went to raid her clothes, she heard keys jingle at her front door, and it opened to show Wonyoung coming in with her school bag in hand and a tray with three refreshers. The two youngest decided to get an apartment together since Yujin needed a roommate when first moving in during college, and Wonyoung was the safest option. They went to the same university nearby, and Wony’s parents were kind enough to pay Wonyoung’s share of the house with no problems.
“Three drinks?” Yujin asked as the younger handed her the drink, “Yena unnie informed me of her presence here, so… here I am.”
“Thanks, Wony!” The two hear Yena yell from the other room. “I saw Y/n unnie working at the cafe I went to,” With her shocking words, Yujin almost choked on her drink, letting out a series of coughs. “You did?”
“Yeah~, I just thought you’d like to know,” She says while sipping her drink. Yujin tries acting very confused, messing up her words a little, “Wha- what? Why would you say that?” Wonyoung gives her the ‘Are you serious’ face. “You can fool Yena and Chaewon unnie, but not me. I know you’ve been thinking about her since that night.”
‘Fuck,’ Yujin mutters under her breath. This is what she gets for living with the girl for almost five years. “Why don’t you just talk to her?” Wonyoung asks while sitting down, placing her drink on the coffee table. “Wony, the girl has hated me for eleven years of our life. She’s not gonna take it too kindly if I just go up to her and try to make civil conversation.”
“Well, it also doesn’t help that you flirt with her, and it comes off as condescending,” Yena says as she turns the corner. “Okay, first of all, how much of the conversation have you heard? Second, when did you know what condescending meant?” Wonyoung calls her out, and Yena looks slightly offended. “Her room is literally right there, and you guys know we were literally in the same English classes in college.” Yena says in a ‘factual’ tone as she wraps the dress up.
“Work your way up, and try not to flirt so much. You're gonna see each other at Substructure again anyway. Why not start there?” Yena states, and Yujin blinks rapidly in shock. “That was probably one of the most mature pieces of advice you’ve given through all the years we’ve known you,” the two younger girls nod, and Yena rolls her eyes. “I may act stupid a lot of the time, but I’m still your guy’s unnie. I can give you good advice, okay?”
“Well, we see that now,” Wonyoung says, and Yujin giggles as Yena gives them a jokingly angry face.
“You guys ever been here?” Winter asks, applying lipstick as the five travel down the stairs. “I have,” you tell them nonchalantly as you adjust the strap of your guitar case. “What? When?” Karina looks at you in confusion as the Substructure was strict on security, and you never went together as a band. “During my first year in uni, she invited me.”
Ning looks at you, brows furrowed, “she as in like the senior she?”
“Yes, Ning, her.”
“How did she get you in?” Giselle asked as they made their way to the back, where they found their room. “I got in as her plus one back in the day.”
“Well… does she still play now?” Winter questions, interested in the newfound information. “In Echoed Silence? The last I heard, she was a part of that new band, CV, I think?” You let them know, and Giselle gasps. “CV? As in, like that Crimson Venom band that was one of the headliners at Coachella last year?”
“I think that’s the least concerning part of that information,” Winter says, and Karina shows them the list of bands for tonight's battle of the bands, and there they were. Your eyes travel down, and you see CV and Elysium on the list. “You have got to be shitting me right now,” You practically groan at the names. “This is about to be a fun night for you, huh?” Ning says, and you almost tackle her into oblivion at those words.
It was about forty-five minutes before they got there and began getting ready. As you finish doing your makeup, you hear a knock at your door. Since the girls were all busy, you decided to open the door yourself, and seeing that face made you almost close it in her face.
“Well, that isn’t so nice of you.”
“You wanna know what isn’t so nice? Seeing your face right now. Never a pleasant feeling at all.” The girls hear you sneer, and Karina heads towards the door. “We’re getting ready right now. Please leave us alone.” Karina snaps and slams the door shut.
“Still hate her until now?”
“Lee Seoyeon is the literal bane of my existence,” Karina says, gripping her hair. “Whatever happened to you guys?” Ning asked, not knowing if she wanted to hear about your story first or Karina’s. “She’s the reason why my family doesn’t speak to me anymore,” Karina plainly says, not wanting to think about it. No one dared to say anything else, knowing Karina’s relationship with her parents was more of a touchy subject.
“And you?” Ning asks, and you roll your eyes at the history you had with her. “I was in love with Seoyeon, mainly from afar as a freshman. She was the kind of senior who didn’t really like associating with younger grades, so I never got her attention. When I finally did, we were official, but it felt one-sided in the end, and after about over a year of dating, I decided to call it quits.”
“So all I’m hearing is… she’s a bitch?” Ning asks, and Giselle scoffs, “Major, Ning. Major bitch. “Did all of you know her at some point?” Winter shakes her head at the question, but everyone else nods, not having the fondest memories of her in their lives.
“Let’s just finish getting ready. We're on during the second round, which is in thirty minutes, so let's finish up our fits and warm up,” Karina tells everyone, and you all begin working with the bass of the music from the venue, reaching into your room. The five of you decided to watch the first few matches, and ironically, the third match of the first round had you feeling indifferent. It was CV versus Elysium.
The battles were set up in a way where each band would play a new, unreleased song. Then, after each of their turns, they’d be in agreement to sing the same song, almost dueting in the end. Finally, three judges and the audience would pick the winners. You stared at the stage, watching the two girls go head to head. As both singers of their respective bands, Yujin and Seoyeon, stared each other down.
Yujin knew the two of you had some kind of history, and she just wasn’t exactly sure what history that is. “Nice to meet you, Yujin-ssi,” Seoyeon says, almost in a whisper, and she reaches out. Out of kindness, Yujin reciprocates this, and it leaves you sucking your teeth. You mumble, “Don’t tell me they’ll be on good terms after this.”
“For your sake, I’d hope not, baby bear,” Ning says as she pats you but softly. Crimson Venom was up first. Their song leaned toward the heavy metal aspects, and as much as that kind of music wasn't your cup of tea, it had you bouncy ever so slightly. As Seoyeon held her mic with ease, she found you out of the multiple heads in the crowd. Her eyes holding a cocky gaze as she smirks at you. Your disdain for her was no secret, as both she and Yujin saw the glare you gave her. Yunjin’s head tilted slightly, wanting to know what that look you gave meant.
As Seoyeon kept singing, her eyes constantly flicked to you in the crowd, a smirk tugging at her lips. It was almost sickening how much she enjoyed toying with you, dangling her affection just out of reach. She thrived on your so-called “obsession,” the way you trailed after her like a lovesick puppy, desperate for any scrap of attention she decided to throw your way. It made her feel powerful, knowing she had you wrapped so tightly around her finger that you couldn't even see the strings pulling you along.
It brought you back to your final moments with her. There you were, again, sitting through yet another one of her performances, swallowing every bit of her act as if it were meant for you. But even from where you sat, you could see the cracks in her performance. The way her eyes lingered on anything but you. Her smile widened just a little too much whenever she caught someone else’s eye in the crowd.
When she wasn’t on stage, her behavior became outright disgusting. She didn't even bother hiding it anymore. You could see it in the way she casually leaned into her bandmate during breaks, the way her laugh got louder, more seductive when she thought you weren’t watching. But in Seoyeon’s mind, you always were, weren’t you? Stupidly loyal, clinging to the hope that she still saw you in the same light.
But that night… that was the breaking point. You had driven three agonizing hours just to see her perform, only to be greeted by the sight of her sitting too close to that old bandmate of hers, the two of them laughing like they were the only ones in the room. You should’ve left right then, but something made you stay in place. Maybe it was the hope that it was all in your head.
And then, you heard it.
“I’m sure little Miss Perfect wouldn’t like seeing you like this,” her bandmate teased, but Seoyeon didn’t even flinch. She just smiled, swirling her drink lazily in her hand. “Y/n? Please, she’s nothing but my pathetic little fan club president. So obsessed, she doesn't even realize how sad she looks.”
Your stomach twisted at the sound of it. It was like a punch to the gut, hearing her reduce you to some kind of groupie in front of everyone.
“I don’t blame her, though,” the bandmate purred, her voice dripping with flirtation. She reached out, fingers tracing lightly down Seoyeon’s arm, and you saw the way Seoyeon didn’t pull away. “I mean, who wouldn’t want a taste of you? Sexy, confident... You could have anyone you want. Lucky me, huh?”
You almost gagged right there. It took everything in you not to storm up to them and slap that smug grin right off Seoyeon’s face. Instead, you turned on your heel and walked out without a word. Your phone was already in your hand as you texted her: We’re done. Blocked. Everything gone.
And for the first time in months, you felt a strange sense of relief.
That was over two years ago, and since then, you wanted nothing to do with her. Yet in the career you’ve chosen, you didn’t have much of a choice. Soon, it was Elysium’s turn, and you couldn’t help but sigh in relief. You now began thinking how you would take Yujin over Seoyeon any day.
Yujin's grip tightened around the mic, her anger bubbling. She didn’t fully understand her feelings, but one thing was clear: she hated what she had just witnessed. It was like a knot tightening in her chest, and she couldn’t ignore it. As the music blared in her ears, Yujin pushed herself toward Seoyeon, getting close enough that their faces nearly touched. Seoyeon barely held back a laugh, amused by Yujin’s sudden aggression. To her, it was like watching a movie unfold, wondering if her playing with you was getting under Yujin's skin.
You could see it all in Yujin’s eyes—the irritation, the anger, the frustration. It left you confused. What triggered this? What was she so angry about? Did something happen between her and Seoyeon that you hadn’t noticed? You tried to focus on the performance, though it became harder with each passing second, sensing Yujin’s boiling emotions beside you.
When the song ended and Crimson Venom won the first round, Yujin stormed off the stage, shoving people out of her way as she went. You stood there, bewildered by her sudden outburst. “That was… dramatic?” Karina muttered, trying to make sense of everything, her voice trailing off in confusion.
With round two approaching, your band retreated backstage to prepare. As you shook off the lingering nerves, Yujin found her way to the bar, walking with urgency. "Tequila. Now," she demanded, her hand hitting the counter hard enough to make Yena look up in surprise.
"I know we lost, but you're not usually this worked up," Yena said, watching Yujin down the shot in one go.
"I don't wanna talk about it," Yujin muttered, her tone sharp as she slammed the empty glass down. Chaewon raised an eyebrow and leaned in. "Is this about Seoyeon?"
The question made Yujin tense. "What about Seoyeon?" Wonyoung chimed in, clearly just as confused.
"Do you even know her?" Chaewon asked, now sitting beside Yujin, concern etched on her face as Yujin reached for another shot.
"No, I don’t," Yujin answered quickly, her second shot going down just as fast as the first.
Chaewon gave her a worried look. "Then what’s the problem?"
Yujin didn’t have a chance to respond. “Yeah, Yujin. What’s your problem with me?” Seoyeon’s voice cut through the air, sharp and taunting. Yujin spun around to find her standing there, a sly smirk playing on her lips.
Chaewon immediately stepped between them, her expression firm. “Are you here to pick a fight?” she asked, staring Seoyeon down. Yujin remained tense, her eyes locked on the girl who had somehow ignited all her fury.
“Of course not. I just wanted to see what her problem was,” Seoyeon gestured her head in Yujin’s direction, “I mean, she was the one getting all up in my face, so?”
Chaewon looks behind her, noticing Yujin’s face looking even more pissed off, and tries to diffuse the situation. “Look, we don’t want any problems. Just leave us alone,” Chaewon says, and Seyeon puts her hands up. Wonyoung watches them, guarded, with her arms crossed, and Yena clearly isn’t pleased with the interaction. “I was just asking a harmless question,” Seoyeon tells them, almost in dismay that they made her seem like the back guy. However, her face quickly changes when she and Yujin make eye contact, the condescending smirk coming back.
“Is it cause’ you like Y/n?” Yujin pauses at those words. “You know what it is? Cause I couldn’t think about it before, but now I know,” Yujin says, standing up firmly. “You're a bitch that’s miserable, so you blatantly go out of your way to make others miserable.”
“I think that pretty much sums up your entire existence, actually,” Yujin says, finishing off her statement with an ‘obvious’ look on her face. “Woah, woah, what’s with the hostility?”
“Leave Seoyeon,” Yena stands in between them, stepping in front of Chaewon and Yujin. The girl uses all her might to not shove her ten meters away, but Seoyeon backs off at Yena’s touch.
Following the altercation, Yujin sees you and your band walk up, and you place yourself in the middle of the stage. You position yourself with a smile, and your hand glides on the stand. You guys were against another band called BD, which was pretty well known for its heavy rock music, something your band wasn’t accustomed to. Yet you stood there confidently as the host introduced you guys.
Yujin watched as you mesmerized her with your beauty. You smiled despite the altercation that seemed to occur between Yujin and Seoyeon. This urged Seoyeon to tease you even more, inching her way forward to the front of the crowd. Your eyes find the shorter girl, and you almost lose your smile, but you know better than to let her get to you. BD begins their song first, and the powerful drums hit your ears. Their vocalist began singing with deeper growls, and as it got to the chorus, it progressively got into the screams that personally weren't your taste.
Once they finished, you wanted to cheer as you weren't really one to be “in love” with the genre of music, but you thought twice, not wanting to be rude (Y/n lowkey being a hater, lol). It was your guy's turn to play, and you felt the excitement creeping up on you. Since the first song you wrote, the group has made you their personal songwriter since you were all gaining fans because of the first one. So it wasn’t a surprise to many when you stood up with the mic in front of you. For the time being, Ningning and Winter also had a mic, but your best friend began getting comfortable on the keyboard while on stage. You hear Winter begin strumming her guitar, and Ning uses the synthesizer as she cues you in.
It's all up to you I have no choice but to watch Whether to finish it or not It's all up to you now
As you began singing, a mix of confusion and sadness waved over you. You wrote this song because of the one-sided love you had for Seoyeon. Writing it came easily to you, and it was probably one of the hardest life lessons you’ve gone through. You tried so hard to get her attention but to no avail. You were just always left in the dark throughout the entire relationship.
The coldness that I've been feeling all this time Maybe it's just an illusion We need to know from here before we can get there Do you even love me now?
You strummed your bass lightly, and when Karina rapidly hits her drum set, Ninging sings the chorus with Winter. Your body was just enjoying the beats, moving away from the mic stand as you focused on grooving as they sang.
I'll hold my breath as I wait for your answer I'll leave it up to you Tell me whether it's yes or no Baby, love me or leave me tonight So answer me With all honesty Tell me evеrything right now Baby love me or leavе me tonight So tell me now
Yujin watched as you sang in the second verse of the song. She almost winced as your eyes met Seoyeon, who raised a brow at the lyrics of the song. You wanted to wipe that cocky face she always gave you. From afar, Yujin couldn’t help but keep her blood boiling even more. The song and the interaction were eye-openers to the relationship you had with the older girl. Yet she couldn’t help but think it was a message of wishing Seoyeon would take you back. You began singing the final chorus as Ningning had the high note lingering.
I'll hold my breath as I wait for your answer I'll leave it up to you Tell me whether it's yes or no Baby, love me or leave me tonight So answer me With all honesty Tell me everything right now Baby love me or leave me tonight So tell me now
The audience cheered at the final breath they heard at the mic, and your face brightened. With the reaction of the crowd, it felt like you guys won by a landslide and that you did. The host applauded you, showing some hardcore favoritism with your band as he announced you would be the victors after the final duet with Ning and BD’s lead vocalist. When walking off the stage with a big smile, Yujin felt the alcohol slowly hitting her. Not being able to help herself, she headed backstage, wanting to confront you about… something she wasn’t even sure about.
You watched as the four girls jumped in joy, standing back as you heard loud stomps behind you. You jolt at the close presence behind you, and, to your surprise, you see Yujin, whose eyes look to be in a daze. Her brows were furrowed, and she seemed to be upset. You believed it was due to their loss, but you didn’t understand why she was in front of you right you.
“You and Seoyeon, you were dating before?” She almost slurs her words, and as much as you guys have been enemies, it didn’t mean you were heartless. Your brain was telling you to feel really concerned right now. “Yes?” You said as a question, and Yujin almost hisses at the answer. “That song. Do you want to get back together with her?” Yujin asks, pointing at you as she shoves a bit. Your face shifts to anger, “Where the fuck did that come from?”
“The way she looked at you, the way you sang the song practically to her. Maybe you like getting into my head as well. I’m not stupid, Y/n. Do you think I like the attention you give me? That you find me entertaining to watch?” Yujin flails her arms as she explains, and the girls behind you begin to hear her raising the volume of her voice. Ningning was gonna intervene, but Giselle stopped her, all of them knowing better than to get in between the two of you unless things went South.
“Maybe you are stupid. First of all, you aren't making sense. Secondly, you don’t know shit, Ahn. You don’t know the shit I went through while I was with her. Not that I owe you an explanation anyways,” You retaliate, using your finger to shove her shoulder a bit harder at her accusation. Wonyoung could be seen frantically looking around, and her eyes made their way over to the two of you. As you see Wonyoung making her way over, you comb your hair back in frustration. “At least we have one of the responsible ones here,” you mumble, but the two tall girls can hear you clearly. “Wonyoung, you should take your friend back. Seems like she had too much to drink.”
The younger girl nods, wrapping her arm around Yujin. “Sorry, Y/n-unnie, I hope she didn’t cause too much trouble,” Wonyoung bows to her, beginning to string Yujin away. “Nothing new, I guess,” you say more in confusion at the interaction. “What the hell was that about?” Giselle says, standing next to you now as she watches the two walk away. “I couldn’t even tell you,” you tell her as you guys head back to your backstage room. “Sounded like jealousy to me,” Ning points out, and you let out a sarcastic laugh. “Jealousy over what?”
You look at the four girls as you sit on the chair, and they give each other a knowing look. “Told you she didn’t notice that day,” Winter points out as she took a sip of her drink. You sit there, feeling confused at her words, “What do you mean?” Giselle gives you a ‘brace yourself look,’ as she sits in the chair beside you. “The night we performed at Blackout, all of us noticed Yujin staring at you.”
“Wait, they were there? Also, that is normal. I mean, we were performing.”
“That’s the thing. It’s when you started singing Drowning that night. She was giving you these lovey-dovey eyes, Y/n. Like no joke.” Ningning says, and all the girls nod vigorously. “No way… I mean literally no way, right?” you ask, not knowing what to make of this information. “It doesn’t seem super far-fetched with how she teases and flirts with you,” Karina says, popping a jelly snack in her mouth.
“How am I even supposed to react to that?”
“I wouldn’t know either, baby bear,” Ning says, shaking her head.
Two weeks after the incident, Yujin didn’t even want to think about what she did or said to you. She felt immensely embarrassed when Wonyoung told her about it the next day, feeling as if she was reliving the scenario again. She even avoided her band for a few days, but it didn’t really work out since Wonyoung lived with her. The maknae told her other unnie’s about the dilemma, and the two visited their apartment a week after the problem.
Yena told her the true secret about your relationship with CV’s vocalist. “Seoyeon and Y/n used to date, you know? From Seoyeon’s words, Y/n felt like a leech that sucked the soul out of her all the time. Like she didn’t care about her own girlfriend, I guess?”
That’s when it was made clear to Yujin that she was completely wrong. If she was able to erase the memory or even the moment she confronted you, she would in a heartbeat. Yena started feeling bad for the girl and decided to bring them out to a big party. It was for an upcoming album release, and they pulled all the stops to make the party happen. A big venue, a big guest list, and every connection they had.
The party was in full swing that night. Music blasted through the room, bass causing the walls and floor to vibrate, making it almost impossible to hear anything over the sound of people's voices and laughter. Flashing lights bathed everything in a variety of colors, and everyone's sweaty bodies swayed to the rhythm as they glistened under the lights. You lingered by the edge of the crowd, sipping on your drink and scanning the sea of people. You didn’t mind drinking, and she enjoyed it even, but this kind of chaotic scene wasn’t really your thing.
The rest of the girls were scattered throughout the venue. Ningning was talking to a dude, feeling up on him, and Giselle was shaking her ass in the crowd. Karina and Winter sat in the corner on the couch, both holding drinks, and they talked to each other with loving eyes. In contrast, Yujin and her friends were somewhere, though they hadn’t seen each other yet. Not that either was looking. At least not consciously in Yujin’s mind.
The air was… a bit suffocating with the scent of alcohol, sweat, and perfume—a dizzying mix. Every now and then, someone would brush past you, a slight touch on your arm or back. The room felt too packed, too loud. You let out a small breath, focusing on the cold bite of the drink in her hand, the only thing keeping you grounded in the sensory overload. Sipping on the strong liquor didn’t hit you like it would hit others, but it definitely helped you stay calm in the moment.
As you scanned the crowd again, you saw Yujin pass by at the far end of the room. Your eyes didn’t meet—Yujin was talking to someone, but her expression looked different. Off. She didn’t seem like she wanted to be there despite this being her type of vibe. You watched her slip away, disappearing toward the back exit.
Yujin, not wanting to deal with the noise or her bandmates’ extreme attempts to cheer her up, had made a quick excuse to leave the party. Her mind was heavy with everything that had gone down in the last two weeks, or a month and a half even. The confrontation with Y/n still haunts her thoughts. She felt out of place with all the confusing thoughts. Right now, it just felt suffocating. She texted Wonyoung and told her that she was heading back home.
You let out a heavy sigh, tossing back the rest of your drink and setting the empty glass on a nearby table. You were ready to leave too. As you moved through the crowd, your eyes caught Yujin’s bandmate. You weren’t really close to anyone other than Wonyoung, and you had a weird relationship with Yujin. Yena, you believed her name was? She was in the corner of the room, slumped against the wall. She looked rough—glassy-eyed, her usual mischievous grin nowhere to be seen. You frowned, making your way over.
"Yena?" you asked, leaning in close so you could be heard over the pounding music. Yena barely responded, her head bobbing weakly.
"Hey, you okay?" You shook her shoulder gently. Yena blinked up at her, struggling to focus.
"I think..." Yena’s words slurred. "I might’ve...had a little too much, ya know?"
Your stomach twisted as your face scrunched in worry. This wasn’t just alcohol at all. You didn’t know Yena that well, but you could tell something else was going on here. Your eyes scan Yena’s face, seeing the white cast near her nose. Looking around, you couldn’t find Chaewon or Wonyoung, and Yujin had already left. You were stuck; Yena clearly needed help, and you were the only one nearby to give it. You knew she would be okay, seeing it before at several parties. You were also aware that the hospital would get many people in trouble for any substance usage.
“Alright, come on,” you said, looping Yena’s arm over your shoulder and guiding her toward the exit. The cool night air hit them as they stepped out into the street, offering a brief moment of relief from the noise inside. Yena mumbled something incoherent, her legs barely keeping up.
Y/n pulled out her phone, hesitating. She knew only one person’s address—Yujin’s. Memories of that night Yujin got tipsy and practically accused you flashed through your mind, the heated words, the tension. But you didn’t have much choice.
You ordered an Uber quickly, guiding Yena toward the curb as the two of you waited. The city lights flickered above, casting shadows over Yena’s pale face. You could hear the faint buzz of traffic, the distant honks of cars passing by. A sense of unease crept over you. She didn’t know how Yujin would react to her showing up out of the blue, especially with Yena in such a state.
The ride to Yujin’s place was silent, except for the occasional groan from Yena, who was barely holding it together. You just felt tense, her fingers tapping nervously against her leg. Was this really happening right now? Well, how your life was going, you couldn’t really not believe it. You weren’t sure how this night would end, but something about it felt heavier than just helping out an intoxicated bandmate. There is an awkward wall between you and your old friend, and things are left unsaid between you two.
When you guys finally arrived, you helped Yena out of the car, trying not to drag her weight… which was literal dead weight at the moment. The apartment building loomed over them, its windows lit up like a beacon in the night. You knew this place fairly well, even though she hadn’t been here since that party so long ago. The memory of that night still lingered—how they’d stood on this very street, exchanging biting words, and how Yujin was successful in kissing you off that night.
You rang the doorbell, your heart pounding in your chest. It was late, and you had no idea if Yujin would even answer.
After what felt like an eternity, the door opened, and there she was. Yujin stood in the doorway, looking surprised and slightly disheveled. Her eyes flickered from you to Yena, confusion crossing her face.
"Y/n?" Yujin’s voice was low, almost cautious.
“Yeah,” you said hesitantly, adjusting her grip on Yena, who was barely standing. “I didn’t know where else to take her. She’s... not okay.”
Yujin’s eyes softened as she stepped aside, letting them in. The tension between them hung in the air, but neither of them said anything about it. Not yet, anyway. You helped Yena onto the couch, and for a moment, the two of you just stood there in the quiet apartment, the faint sounds of the city outside the only noise.
“I’ll get her some water,” Yujin muttered, walking into the kitchen.
You nodded, glancing around the room. It felt strange being here, in this space that was once so familiar, yet it also felt like foreign territory. Yujin returned with the water, kneeling beside Yena and helping her drink. For a moment, you both watched Yena, the silence growing heavier.
Finally, Yujin broke the quiet. “I’m sorry,” she said softly, her voice almost a whisper.
Yujin stood across from you in the dim light of her apartment, the air thick with the weight of everything, even if you were both silent. Yujin's mind raced, her heart pounding, unsure of where to start. Everything she had felt over the past few weeks—the anger, the jealousy, the confusion—swirled in her chest, threatening to spill out all at once.
She crossed her arms, more out of self-defense than anything else. "Look, about what happened at the substructure…" Yujin started, her voice hesitant. She couldn’t quite meet your eyes. “I didn’t mean to say all that. I just… I don’t know.”
Your jaw clenched. You’d been waiting for this, but it didn’t make the moment any easier. "You don’t know?" you echoed, voice tight. "You cornered me that night, Yujin. You practically accused me of being almost like Seoyeon."
Yujin flinched at the mention of your ex’s name. Seoyeon seemed to be a growing sore spot. The kind of person who left scars that didn’t fade easily. Yujin’s jealousy had blinded her, but now, standing here, she felt the guilt rise in her throat.
"It’s not like that. I know you’re not anything like her. It’s just..." Yujin faltered, running a hand through her hair in frustration. She hated how lost she sounded, how unsure. "This was the first time I saw Seoyeon. She didn’t seem to care about you, not the way she should have. But I saw how you looked at her, and I didn’t get it. I don’t get why you let her have that kind of control over you."
Your face hardened, your hands balling into fists at her sides. "You think I wanted to be that way? You think I liked the way she treated me?" Your voice was sharp, but there was a tremor in it. "Seoyeon wasn’t easy to be with, and yeah, maybe I let her push me around for a while, but I wasn’t some puppet, Yujin. I didn’t let her get that far."
Yujin opened her mouth to speak, but you weren’t done. "I know what you’re thinking—that I stayed with her because I couldn’t stand being alone, or that I didn’t see through her. But I did. I knew exactly who Seoyeon was, and I left when I realized I deserved more than that. But you? You came at me like I was still stuck in her shadow, like I hadn’t grown past it."
Yujin felt a pang of guilt. She had been too quick to assume the worst, too caught up in her own emotions. "I’m sorry," she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper. "I didn’t mean to make it sound like that. I just… I hated seeing you with her. I hated the way she had this hold over you, and I didn’t understand why I cared so much. I was jealous."
Your eyes softened slightly at the admission, but you still held your guard. "Jealous? Of Seoyeon?"
Yujin hesitated. This was the part that scared her—the part she hadn’t fully figured out yet. She swallowed, feeling the words catch in her throat. "Yeah. But it wasn’t just about Seoyeon. It was about you. I don’t… I don’t know what this is, what I feel about you. But when I saw you with her, it drove me crazy, and I didn’t know why. I still don’t."
Your expression shifted, the hard edges of your frustration softening. For the first time in forever, you saw something in Yujin that you hadn’t seen in a long time—a flicker of vulnerability, of uncertainty. It was as if Yujin had finally let her guard down, just enough for you to see through the walls she’d built around herself.
You took a small step forward, your voice gentler now. "Yujin, I’ve never been her. I’ve made mistakes. You’ve been pushing me away ever since we were kids, and I get it—things changed. But that doesn’t mean I ever stopped caring about you. And if you’re feeling something, anything… then you need to be honest about it."
Yujin met your eyes, the intensity of your gaze faltering for a moment. "I don’t know if it’s that simple," she murmured, her voice barely audible.
You smiled softly, the kind of smile Yujin hadn’t seen in what felt like forever. It was warm, disarming, and for a moment, it made everything else fade away. "It never is," you replied, her tone almost teasing. "I mean, after being long-time enemies, we’ve known each other too long for this, Yujin. You don’t have to figure it all out right now."
Yujin let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding, the tension in her shoulders easing just a little. Your kindness was like a balm, soothing the raw edges of her emotions. For the first time in weeks, she didn’t feel so lost.
You took another step closer, your hand gently brushing against Yujin’s arm, and it was like a spark igniting between them. Yujin’s breath hitched slightly, her heart pounding in her chest as your touch sent a warmth through her that she couldn’t quite place. She looked up, meeting your gaze, and in that moment, something shifted.
Neither of them spoke for a second, the silence hanging between you. Yujin wasn’t sure what to say or how to confront this unfamiliar territory. But before she could figure it out, your hand slipped down, brushing against her fingers, and suddenly, it all clicked into place.
Your voice was soft when you finally spoke again. "You don’t have to say anything right now, Yujin. But I’m here. Whenever you’re ready."
Yujin nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. She still didn’t have the words, but for the first time in weeks, she didn’t feel the need to fill the silence. Your touch was enough, and maybe, just maybe, that was the start of something she hadn’t even realized she was waiting for.
The tension was still there, but it wasn’t the same as before. This time, it wasn’t sharp or biting—it was something else. Something that felt like it could change everything.
And for the first time, Yujin didn’t feel the need to run.

I Smile
Pairings ; Jenna Ortega x Male!Reader
Warning/s ; angsty
As Y/N stood in the dimly lit studio, his fingers gently caressing the strings of his guitar, he couldn't help but feel the weight of the memories weighing heavily on his heart. The lyrics of their latest song, "I Smile," echoed in his mind, each word a affecting reminder of the love he once shared with Jenna.
It had been years since they last saw each other, their paths diverging after a painful breakup fueled by misunderstandings and unspoken truths. Y/N had tried to move on, burying himself in his music and the whirlwind of fame that followed, but Jenna had always lingered in the corners of his mind like a ghost he couldn't shake.
As news of Jenna's impending marriage to actor Percy Hynes White spread like wildfire through the tabloids, Y/N found himself grappling with a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. Part of him was happy for her, glad that she had found someone who could give her the love and happiness she deserved. But another part of him couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy, a lingering ache for the life they could have had together if things had been different.
Just as Y/N was lost in his reverie, his phone buzzed with a message from an unknown number. It was Jenna, reaching out after all these years with a proposition that took Y/N by surprise. She wanted Y/N and his band to sing at the after-party of her wedding, favoring him with the opportunity of a lifetime.
At first, Y/N was hesitant, unsure if he could bear to face Jenna again after all this time. But as he thought about the chance to see her one last time, to sing their song together on the eve of her wedding, he knew that he couldn't say no. This was his chance to confront the ghosts of their past, to lay his feelings bare and finally find the closure he so desperately craved.
The night of the wedding arrived, and Y/N found himself standing on stage with his bandmates, the spotlight casting a warm glow over the crowd. His heart raced as he scanned the room, searching for Jenna among the sea of faces.
And then, there she was, standing at the back of the room, her eyes meeting his with a mixture of hesitation and longing. Y/N felt a rush of emotions flood over him as memories of their time together came flooding back, the pain of their breakup still fresh in his mind.
But as he began to sing the haunting melody of "I Smile," Y/N felt something shift within him. The words poured from his lips like a confession, each note a bittersweet reminder of the love they once shared. He poured his heart and soul into every word, his voice trembling with raw emotion as he laid bare his deepest feelings for Jenna and the pain of their separation.
And as he sang, Y/N saw Jenna's expression soften, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. In that moment, surrounded by the music and the memories, they found themselves transported back to a time when anything seemed possible, when their love knew no bounds.
When the song came to an end, Y/N held Jenna's gaze for a moment longer, his heart heavy with the weight of unspoken words. But as she smiled through her tears, Y/N knew that, despite the pain of the past, they would always have the music to bring them together.
And as he stepped off the stage, Y/N felt a sense of peace wash over him, knowing that, no matter what the future held, he would always carry Jenna in his heart.
As the soft strains of music floated through the air, Jenna stood on the terrace overlooking the twinkling lights of the city below, her wedding dress trailing behind her like a cloud. She took a deep breath, the weight of the evening settling around her like a comforting embrace.
Y/N approached her from behind, his footsteps muffled by the sound of laughter and chatter from the guests mingling inside. He paused a few feet away, unsure if he should intrude on her moment of solitude, but then Jenna turned and caught sight of him, her eyes lighting up with surprise and something else he couldn't quite place.
"Y/N," she said, her voice soft and filled with emotion. "I didn't expect to see you here."
Y/N offered her a tentative smile, the weight of their shared history hanging heavy in the air between them. "I wouldn't miss it for the world," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jenna's gaze softened, her eyes searching his for answers. "I'm glad you came," she said, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "I wanted to talk to you before the ceremony."
Y/N nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. "Of course," he said, his voice catching in his throat. "What did you want to talk about?"
Jenna took a deep breath, her fingers twisting nervously in the folds of her dress. "I just wanted to say thank you," she began, her voice barely louder than a whisper. "For agreeing to sing at the after-party. It means more to me than you'll ever know."
Y/N felt a lump form in his throat at her words, the weight of her gratitude washing over him like a wave. "It's the least I could do," he replied, his voice thick with emotion. "I couldn't say no to you, Jenna. Not after everything."
Jenna's eyes glistened with unshed tears, her cheeks flushed with emotion. "I know things didn't end well between us," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "But I want you to know that I'll always cherish the time we spent together. You were my first love, Y/N, and I'll never forget that."
Y/N felt his heart ache at her words, the memories of their time together flooding back with a bittersweet intensity. "You were mine too, Jenna," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. "And I'll never forget you."
For a moment, they stood there in silence, the weight of their shared history hanging heavy in the air between them. But then Jenna reached out, her fingers brushing against Y/N's cheek in a gentle caress.
"Thank you for being here," she said, her voice barely louder than a whisper. "And thank you for everything."
Y/N felt a tear slip down his cheek at her words, the weight of their goodbye hanging heavy in the air between them.
As Y/N stood on the terrace with Jenna, a rush of memories flooded his mind, taking him back to a time when their love was young and full of promise.
FLASHBACK
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the city skyline as Y/N and Jenna sat on the rooftop of their apartment building, the sounds of the bustling city fading into the background. They had just finished dinner, and as they leaned back against the rooftop ledge, their fingers intertwined, they let their conversation drift to the future.
"Do you ever think about what our wedding will be like?" Jenna asked, her voice soft with longing as she gazed out at the city below.
Y/N turned to her, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. "All the time," he replied, his heart swelling with love. "I imagine it'll be small and intimate, just the two of us surrounded by our closest friends and family."
Jenna's eyes sparkled with excitement as she leaned in closer, her breath warm against his cheek. "I want it to be magical," she whispered, her voice filled with dreams. "I want to get married under the stars, with fairy lights twinkling overhead and the sound of music filling the air."
Y/N felt his heart skip a beat at her words, the image of their future wedding painting itself vividly in his mind. "That sounds perfect," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "Just you and me, dancing beneath the stars until the world fades away."
Jenna's smile widened, her eyes shining with love as she leaned in to press a gentle kiss to his lips. "I can't wait for that day," she whispered, her voice filled with hope and longing.
FLASHBACK ENDS
As the memory faded, Y/N felt a pang of regret wash over him, the bittersweet reminder of the dreams they had once shared. But as he watched Jenna walk away, her wedding dress trailing behind her like a cloud, he knew that, no matter what the future held, he would always carry her in his heart.
And as he turned to leave, Y/N felt a sense of ease wash over him, knowing that, no matter where life took them, they would always have this moment, this bittersweet farewell beneath the stars.

"he's doing it again.." sungjin mumbled toward wonpil beside him.
"huh?"
"dowoon," sungjin clarified, "he's doing it again."
wonpil looked over at dowoon, who was a few feet away on the photoshoot set. the group was currently taking concept photos for their next album, and dowoon's gaze was stuck rather obviously on y/n.
"i don't know what else you expected," wonpil replied. "he's obsessed."
"who's obsessed?" younghyun chimed in after just getting his makeup touched up.
"dowoon."
"oh. with y/n?"
wonpil and sungjin nodded.
"then yes," younghyun agreed.
y/n continued to change poses and expressions in front of the camera. dowoon felt mesmerized. he was supposed to go after y/n, but he didn't know how well he'd do in front of the camera after watching y/n. he might as well have fallen in love all over again.
"yoon dowoon!"
dowoon snapped out of his trance. he looked over at the rest of his group with raised brows. the color on his face turned to a deep red as he realized they'd been watching him stare at y/n. sungjin waved him over, but dowoon almost felt like ignoring him. he knew the three were bound to tease him.
dowoon walked over to them after taking one more glance at y/n, who finally met dowoon's eyes and sent him a quick smile before looking back at the camera. dowoon felt his heart skip in his chest. he looked down at his feet as he walked before stopping in front of his friends.
"so when are you guys gonna kiss?" younghyun asked.
"never, at this point," wonpil answered.
dowoon blinked, "what?"
"tsk. you and y/n. we're waiting for you and y/n to finally get together," sungjin explained.
dowoon looked back at y/n one more time.
"what do you mean?"
small sighs and groans of disappointment sounded from the others.
"you suck at being subtle dowoon. make a move on y/n already," wonpil urged while sungjin and younghyun nodded along.
"i don't think he sees me that way," dowoon protested a bit shyly.
"shut up, you two are basically each other's favorites."
"there's no way he doesn't like you too."
"dowoon, respectfully, open your fucking eyes."
dowoon continued to watch y/n as his bandmates talked. he really hoped they were right.

About Now
♡ Bf!Kai x Gn!Reader, Established Relationship, Fluff! ♡
♡ Summary: No matter how far away you two are, you’ll always feel like home to him. <3 ♡ Warnings: None aside from nicknames/long distance! ♡ A/N: This is based off of day6’s song “about now” hehe I love that song to bits and the lyrics are sooo cute😭😭so please listen while reading for the full experience! Enjoy <3
Kai ran his fingers through his hair as he checked his phone again for the millionth time that morning. He was so tired but he would do anything to hear your voice, even if it meant sacrificing his sleep and waking up earlier than he really needed to. It was late where you were on your side of the world but he knew you’d always reply to his texts when you could. He reluctantly brushed his teeth, his soft hair a mess and still in his pajamas. He had to at least do something productive while he waited for you to get off work. By now, you must have erased your make-up
By now, you must have finished preparing
My old shirt that is going to be your pajama
I can imagine you wearing it
Like always, you must be beautiful Kai found himself daydreaming about you once again. Whenever he had time he always found himself thinking of you. What outfit did you wear today? Did you eat? How was work? His thoughts were always y/n must be eating dinner right now, or y/n must be washing the dishes. His favorite thought was just picturing you fresh out of the shower, wearing just his shirt.<3 Kai liked to imagine himself walking behind you and scooping you in for a tight hug. It made his heart race just thinking about it. Ring.. Ring Ring… Ring.. Suddenly he was wide awake now, hearing that familiar ringtone he set just for you. He lets it ring for just a few seconds (he can’t make it obvious he was desperate to hear your voice!) before answering with his usual cheery tone. “Hyuka!~ I just finished doing my skincare routine! Did I wake you up?” Your voice was sweeter than sugar, his ears were blessed. The early morning birds began to chirp but nothing was more calming than hearing you say his name from across the world. “No of course not sweetie, I just decided to get up early today.” His smile grew wider hearing your soft giggles over the line. God, he missed you. The night snack you ordered without me
How does it taste?
Because I'm not there
Did you perhaps dream of naughty things?
I keep worrying about your days without me
Are you also feeling blank like me? As if a screw is loose The morning went on just like that. You talking about your day ending and Kai just starting his. Being on tour was tough for the both of you but you always managed to show your support no matter how far you both were. “What do you mean you ordered egg tarts without me?!” Your boyfriend pouted. “I’m sorry! I promise when you get back we can eat as many as you want together my prince.” Your laugh and voice were refreshing and addicting. How could he ever be mad at you? Just wait a few days
Until we meet again
I prayed for the time to be by our side
Today the clock is ticking slowly
Or is it my heart that is feeling rushed?
I want to see your beautiful face “Y’know, the tour is almost over, I’ll be home soon my love,” Kai mumbled as he rummaged through his luggage for the right outfit to head to his rehearsal. “Mhm, I’m always counting the seconds till I get to see you again..” You whispered back, the intimate atmosphere was so intense both of you could feel it on each side of the phone line. Kai felt himself warm up at the thought of you waiting for him at the airport, running into his warm arms and you two could go home together. “Let’s go to an arcade when I get back, I want to play games with you.” Kai chirped as he pulled his shirt over his head. Your immediate cheery response was all he needed to motivate him to get through his day. “Alright, I have to go now. Promise you’ll be good for me?” Kai teases as he closes his bag, all things accounted for. “Just for you. I’ll keep my naughty thoughts to myself until you get home~” You teased back and the both of you let out a wholehearted laugh. Everything felt right in the world with you having each other’s backs. “Have a good sleep. Love you, remember I’m cheering for you y/n.. and don’t forget to dream of me~” Your boyfriend was such a tease. And you loved every single bit of it. Your ray of sunshine. The night snack you ordered without me
How does it taste?
Because I'm not there
Did you perhaps dream of naughty things?
I keep worrying about your days without me
Are you also feeling blank like me?
As if a screw is loose
Time felt like it was going slower than ever when he was doing his schedules or on tour, but at the end of the day, all he needed was his partner waiting for him with arms open wide. Your small apartment always smelled of you. It had all your shared stuffed animals, your soft bed just waiting for him to lay on with you, your kitchen where you both baked together, the TV and couch where you both played games together, and most importantly, your apartment had you.

In My Wildest Dreams (you were beautiful)
Synopsis: Some memories and dreams are better left in the past.
A/N: The sequel to save the first dance, and it was a product of listening to Wildest Dreams by T.Swift and You Were Beautiful by Day6.
Flashbacks are in italics
TW: mentions of a plane accident (and character death), but hopefully, the rest is a bit more lighthearted (okay with a smidge of angst/bittersweet moments)
Flash
"That's great! Now let's try-"
"Actually y/n, maybe you should take a break."
"But-"
"Please." The newlyweds pleaded. "Enjoy the food, loosen up on the dance floor or something. We insist."
"I guess a break wouldn't hurt."
"Fantastic! Please, enjoy the party, you're a guest too."
You partially tidied up your camera equipment, when you dropped the camera lens cap. You briskly walked to retrieve it as it rolled away, but it thankfully stopped by one of the tables.
Quickly kneeling down to pick it up, you didn't expect the hit to your eye, knocking you off balance as you were standing back up.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" The pained yelp you let out caught the attention of the other occupants at the table.
You were about to complain to the woman who punched you but the words fell flat.
She was beautiful.
Yet too close as she inspected your face.
Wow.
"Huh?"
Crap. You weren't supposed to say that out loud.
"I said, ow."
Yep. Act like an idiot. That will save you from embarrassment.
She didn't buy it, but hey, at least it broke the tension.
"Come on, I'll get you some ice for your pretty face."
You didn't even have time to blush from the compliment as she dragged you away.
"Unnie?" Eun Jung's voice pulled Nayeon out of the memory.
"Sorry, can you repeat that?"
"I asked if you want to accompany me to my cousin's wedding next weekend."
She hadn't been to a wedding since-
"You can say no if you want unnie."
"I...will think about it."
"Of course."
Despite Eun Jung's reassuring smile, Nayeon still felt guilty.
-x-
"Y/n, you know I love you, but are you almost finished?"
The ten of you were having a spontaneous photoshoot by the lake.
You had been waiting until sunset for the perfect moment, the other eight members too.
"Just one last photo jagiya. For this one, I aiming to catch the expression of surprise. I'll stand behind you, and on the count of three I want you to turn around with your best surprised face."
"1..." You pulled out the ring.
"2..." You knelt down on one knee
"3..." The love of your life turned around, and it was a picture-perfect moment.
"You're awfully quiet."
Chaeyoung observed as the group were resting.
"Unnie?" Still nothing, even when she waved her hand in front of her face.
Taking advantage of the situation, Jeongyeon ran her hand under the tap and splashed a little water in Nayeon's face.
The scream she let out, signalled her return back to reality.
"Yoo Jeongyeon!"
"Sorry! You weren't responding to Chaeyoung, now spill what's on your mind."
"Eun Jung asked if I wanted to accompany her to a wedding this weekend."
"Is that so terrible?" The group leader asked.
"No, but I thought our relationship was just casual. Her bringing me as a plus one to a family member's wedding feels anything but."
"You two have been going on friendly 'dates' for a month now, and not even fifteen minutes after meeting, you made out with her."
"That was y/n in Eun Jung's body!"
Jihyo stood, diffusing the situation.
"What Jeongyeon unnie means is that your relationship has gone beyond casual. Do you like her romantically?"
"I..." think I do. "Don't know."
"Then it's time to figure it out."
-x-
Eun Jung stared at her phone. It had been two days since she asked Nayeon to the wedding but it was radio silence from her end.
"Was it too soon?" She muttered to herself.
"Nonsense!"
The poor woman nearly fainted in shock when you appeared beside her.
"Y/n?"
"In the flesh! Wait..."
"How are you here?"
"They're pretty laid back, up there. They let people wander earth on occasion, as long as they don't interfere too much with the living."
There was a pause as she processed that information.
"So you don't mind if it's my intention to court Nayeon?"
"Of course not! I do watch from above and I can see how much she likes you."
"Have you visited her?"
A flash of sadness emerged within your eyes.
"No. I don't think I should, my presence might hurt her."
Seeing Nayeon would hurt me, too.
The sound of a message coming through cut the conversation, and Eun Jung let out a sigh of relief once reading the message.
She was about to share her delight with you, but you had vanished.
-x-
After much consideration, Nayeon decided to accept the invitation.
And with three days until the wedding, she was struggling to decide in what to wear.
"As long as you don't wear white!" Eun Jung jested.
"Still struggling?" Mina peered into the room.
"Yeah." She flopped back onto her bed.
"In that case, I have a suggestion."
"Great." Mina was concerned about Nayeon's defeated tone.
"Unnie, are you okay?"
"I guess so. I feel..."
"Feel?" Mina prompted.
"Never mind." She brushed off with an obvious fake smile. "Now, show me what you had in mind."
-x-
Eun Jung grinned when Nayeon entered the living room, her hair cascading in slight waves."
"Wow, you look great. Lilac suits you."
Her date for the evening became bashful at the compliment.
"Ditto."
"Ready to go?"
"Lead the way."
-x-
The ceremony was intimate, and ever so sweet. She kept a low profile, not wanting to steal attention away from the happy couple.
But there was a pit in Nayeon's stomach.
"Y/n and I first met at a wedding."
Everyone was enjoying the music at the reception, but the pair decided to remain seated at the table.
"Oh?"
"She was hired as the photographer and I accidentally punched her in the eye." She snorted at the memory.
"Talk about a memorable first meeting."
"Indeed. She gave me her business card since she was still on the job, but in the following weeks, we just clicked. The rest was history."
I'm sorry your story had a tragic ending.
Eun Jung thought.
"Do you want to dance?" She offered her hand to the idol, who didn't hesitate this time.
"Sure."
Nayeon was taken aback when you twirled her around the dance floor.
"I didn't know you could dance."
"What can I say? There's a lot you might not know about me." Eun Jung ended her statement with a wink.
Looking at her brought Nayeon back to the past.
"High School Musical 3, really? Aren't we a little too old for this?"
"Humour me, sweetie."
You'd never admit it, but you were enjoying the film.
"Here!" She paused the movie. "This is one of my favourite scenes."
"So you've watched this more than once."
"Shhh. Just take my hand."
Fortunately, the front room was spacious.
You fell in love all over again when she began singing.
What she didn't know was that you could carry a tune too.
"Won't you promise me." Nayeon nearly stumbled in surprise when you sang back. To her credit, she recovered from it swiftly.
"Now won't you promise me
That you'll never forget.
"We'll keep dancing."
"To keep dancing."
"Wherever we go next."
She lightly punched you once the scene finished (not without a kiss first though.)
"Why am I only discovering now that you can sing?! After nearly a year together." The idol pouted.
"What can I say? I'm just full of surprises."
"Unnie?"
The memory faded back into the present.
Nayeon buried her face into Eun Jung's shoulder, not wanting to converse anymore.
She was grateful that her partner had picked up on the silent cue. Instead, she held her ever so slightly tighter while they continued swaying.
-x-
When the night was over, they ended up before Nayeon's door.
"Thanks for inviting me today. I enjoyed myself."
"I'm glad, and if I haven't said it enough tonight, you look beautiful."
"I thought you said no one would recognise me here."
"They don't."
"Then why are they staring?"
"Because you're beautiful."
"Sweet talker."
"That's a Twice song, right?"
"Oh shut up, and kiss me."
"Gladly."
She found herself unconsciously leaning into Eun Jung, who reciprocated.
The sensation of their lips brushing together just about broke Nayeon out of her stupor.
The pressure she had been feeling over the week finally bubbled over. She took a few steps back, shaking her head. Tears starting to form.
"Nayeon?"
"I'm sorry, I can't do this."
She slammed the apartment door, leaving Eun Jung outside, confused and desperate.
"Unnie, please. I'm sorry. I didn't intend to make you uncomfortable.
She felt the lump in her throat worsen when she hear Nayeon crying on the other side.
"Please. Can you open the door so we can talk about it?"
"Eun Jung. Please leave me alone."
She listened this time, deciding that giving her space was best.
-x-
Nayeon continued sobbing in her room.
Every moment spent with her, felt like she was betraying you.
"Damn you, y/n! Why did you have to leave me in the first place? And just when I was starting to accept this loss, you come back. I ended up back at square one."
"I apologise, and if it were possible, I'd take away your pain, my love."
At first, she assumed she was hallucinating.
Until she wiped her tears, to see you lying opposite her.
That made her sob harder.
You patiently waited until she calmed down.
"How? Why are you here, y/n?"
"To relieve you from the guilt you're feeling."
"It's difficult when I still miss you, so much."
"Do you like Eun Jung?"
"Yes. I haven't felt this way about someone else since I lost you."
"Then go for it. Don't let her slip away. You shouldn't stay hung up on me, a ghost from your past. Live, and let yourself fall in love again."
Instead of resisting, Nayeon finally let your words wash over her.
You were right.
This could be the last time you'd see her, so you etched each one of her features into your heart and mind.
"Y/n?"
"What were your last moments like?"
"I was allowed to finish my part of the job a week ahead of schedule. The flight started normal, but we got caught in a storm..."
"Attention all passengers, please fasten your seat belts immediately."
Lighting struck the wing, causing a fire. The pilots fought hard to maintain control, but it was obvious that it wasn't working, as the turbulence hit hard. The oxygen masks dropped down, but the plane wouldn't make it to a safe landing zone.
You pulled out the photo of Nayeon you kept in your wallet.
The thought of not being able to see her walk down the aisle broke you.
My darling. If I don't make it out of this, I plead that you always remember how much I love you.
"The plane just kept going down, until nothing. The last thing I thought about before I died was you."
"I was a wreck when I found out from a colleague of yours. The members were around to catch me as my knees gave in. I never stopped grieving over you, but now, I'm ready to choose happiness again."
Her eyes shut, and all you wanted to do was touch her face.
It's time to let her go, y/n.
-x-
Eun Jung laid defeated in the comfort of her bed.
Not that she rested. She was to busy kicking herself for what happened a few days ago.
You fool! Why did you have to kiss her all of a sudden?!
She trudged towards the door when there was a knock.
"Hi."
"Hey." She thought she had ruined things with the idol, but to see her standing outside her door...
"I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry."
"It was insensitive of me to invite you to a wedding since it's still a sensitive subject."
"It's not your fault, I said yes despite the fact I wasn't ready."
"Regardless, I got the sense that something wasn't right but I ignored it. For that, I apologise."
"I'll only accept your apology if you let me take you out for coffee."
"Deal."
The smile Nayeon gave her, made her heart skip a beat. She knew that from now on, she wants to be a reason behind that smile.
-x-
Nayeon sat in your office, fiddling with the trinkets on your desk.
"You always did like your organised messes."
She looked up, seeing you sitting on the edge of the desk, looking at her just as you had always done.
A smile gracing your lips and your eyes full of love.
"Sitting here doesn't hurt as it did a year and a half ago."
Her phone buzzed with a text from Eun Jung.
'Happy 6 months sunshine! I'm downstairs.'
'I'll be there now 💖'
Nayeon glanced back at you, remembering your last words to her.
"Promise me you won't be afraid to find happiness."
Just like then, her eyes began to water, but they weren't tears of grief this time.
"I kept my promise. I found happiness again."
She could've sworn your smile grew when you seemingly heard that.
Making her way out, she turned back for a final look around the office; the mirage of you, gone.
"Y/n, thank you."
Even if our story was short, it was beautiful. We'll meet again in our wildest dreams.

You sat with your headphones covering your ears, listening to music and scrolling through Instagram.
You massaged your temple while glaring at the girls hovering around Yoon Dowoon, one of the most popular guys in your class. You continued glaring at them, noticing how Younghyun, one of the other popular ('bad boy') guys in not only your class but your entire school, glared at those same girls.
Before you could get up to confront the Dowoon Fanclub, Younghyun beat you to it:
"Would you people shut up?" One of the girls raised her hand as if she were going to hit him. He shook his head in disbelief, scoffing as Dowoon pushed up from the chair and left the class, his Fanclub not far behind. You sighed, Sungjin and Wonpil who were sitting in front of you turning around in their chairs to look at you.
"What's up with you?" Wonpil asked you, propping his chin on his forearm. You look him over before you took off your headphones.
"What's it to you?" Sungjin laughed, Wonpil elbowing him playfully. You couldn't help but smile at them. They were kinda cute, what could you say?
When the two guys went quiet and you saw Sungjin staring at Eunhi, Jaehyung's childhood best friend. It clicked immediately.
He liked her.
The thought alone made your heart ache painfully. And don't get it wrong, it wasn't because you liked Sungjin. It was just because you knew what he was going through. Biting the inside of your cheek your gaze found its way to Younghyun. Younghyun, who was on his phone and had such a nice side profile and— you shook your head. Get out of your head.
"Is there something on my face?"
Your eyes widened as you heard the familiar voice of Kang Younghyun. You had to swallow nervously, feeling everyone's eyes trained on your face. You were known as the quiet-but-not-to-be-messed-with kid in the class. Most people steered clear of you since you were pretty intimidating with hard stares and looks of dislike. The only people anyone knew you talked to regularly was Wonpil and Sungjin, and on occasion class-clown Jaehyung.
"You just gonna ignore me, then?"
Younghyun turned his phone face-down on his desk. You kept quiet, still staring at him like a kid with their hand stuck in a cookie jar. From out of the corner of your eye, you saw Eunhi get up from her chair. She stood up in front of you, obscuring your figure from Younghyun's fox-like eyes.
"Cut it out, Younghyun." She warned him. You tried to say something but your voice just refused to work. You hated this situation. You knew that Eunhi liked Younghyun. And from what you had noticed recently, Younghyun liked her back. This was why your and Sungjin's situation was so relatable. You both could sympathize for each other.
"Isn't it obvious?" Your head snapped to the side, gaze landing on Dowoon.
"What is?" Younghyun asked him, standing up.
"Don't you dare, Yoon Dowoon." You warned, suddenly having regained your voice. Dowoon smirked, taking a daring step forward. He made eye contact with Younghyun, hands in his pocket.
"She—" before he even had a chance to utter the words, you tackled him down, your hand covering his mouth as you straddled him. You had a hand around his throat, having put it there subconsciously.
"Wow, Y/N. Shouldn't you get a room before showing off your bedroom antics?" Kim Seokjin, the pretty boy of the school said with a smirk. Going red in the face, you sprung up. Dowoon looked shocked, a pink hue tinting his ears as he stared at you open mouthed. You hadn't even realized how Younghyun was staring at you, Wonpil and Sungjin completely speechless.
"Do me next!" Jeon Jungkook called, snickering with his group of friends. Grabbing a book from Sungjin's table you chucked it at Jungkook and his friends. Jungkook ducked, looking at you wide eyed. You turned to Dowoon, pointing at him threateningly.
"Keep your mouth shut or I’ll tell your mom you’re sleeping around."
The class hollered at your comment, Dowoon going pink in the face.
You grabbed your things, rushing out of the room. You bit down on your lip, pushing past Younghyun gently and jogging out. If it wasn't already obvious, that was sure to sell you out. Sungjin glared at Dowoon, pushing past Eunhi and Younghyun to go after you. Younghyun looked over everyone in utter confusion. "What the hell just happened?" He asked as Eunhi turned to look after Sungjin. Did he suddenly like Y/N? Hadn't he confessed to her on the day when she helped Younghyun get away from his dick of a boss? Biting her lip, Eunhi went to sit back next to Jaehyung.
———
You were sitting in the park with Sungjin. It was just past 7pm, and the night breeze was soothing.
"He makes my heart ache..." You sniffled, leaning against his shoulder. Sungjin bit his lower lip. Once again, they were in the same situation.
"I'm so sick and tired of loving him when I know he doesn't love me back..." You cried. Sungjin felt so hopeless. He slowly shifted so that your face was pressed into his shoulder, his shirt slowly getting wet with tears.
Still crying into his shirt, you choked out what you were feeling, not at all aware of Younghyun who was hiding behind a tree in his work clothes:
"I'm alone..." You wailed, clutching at Sungjin's shirt as if it were your lifeline. Younghyun turned to look at you and his heart broke. Slowly. It broke agonizingly slow. "Only the cold night air is by my side." You continued, pressing yourself into Sungjin.
"You have me, Y/N. You have me..." Sungjin soothed, patting your back gently. You cried, your breathing ragged as you held onto Sungjin. Younghyun left soon after that, heading into the convenience store where he was working. When he got there he layed on the counter, phone in hand as he tried his best not to think about you and how you were crying now, and all because of him. He was so dense. How hadn't he realized how Y/N, one of the coldest people he had ever met was so much gentler towards him?—
"Younghyun!" He snapped out of his reverie, looking up to make eye contact with Eunhi.
"Eunhi, hey!" He said with a smile, though he was sure it didn't reach his eyes.
"When do you finish? I saw the park near here is empty. It would be great for some stargazing!"
"Wait, it's empty? Sungjin and Y/N weren't there?" Eunhi looked nervous as she nodded.
"Yeah. I went to say 'hi' but Y/N suddenly got up and left. And she took Sungjin with her before I could even say 'hello'. She looked upset..." Eunhi muttered, trailing off as she realized that Younghyun wasn't listening anymore.
"I don't think I can go tonight. Some other time, maybe?" He asked, distracted with whatever he was thinking about.
"Uh, yeah.. Sure."
When Younghyun left that night, he finally realized something... He screwed up big time.
———
You entered the classroom that morning, hand in hand with Sungjin and a tired smile on your face. When you sat down the class hollered, Wonpil looking at the two of you with a smile.
"What'd I miss?" He asked. You shook your head, letting go of Sungjin's hand reluctantly.
"I think I've finally gotten over him." You said quietly. Sungjin smiled at you and you smiled back. Deep down you knew you weren't over him. Sungjin knew that too. But you two could work through the pain together. You yelped as you were dragged out of the room by your wrist. You turned around to confront them but your voice died in your throat at the sight of Younghyun so up close and personal. Your heart was beating in the back of your throat. His hands were soft against your skin and—
"I need to talk to you." He said, his voice sending shivers down your spine. As he continued pulling you along, he was stopped when Sungjin grabbed his arm tightly.
"What do you think you're doing?" He said.
The tension was thick enough to suffocate you. Younghyun glared at Sungjin, quite a bit taller than him. He stepped closer. "Get your hands off of me." He snarled. You gently took Sungjin's hand from Younghyun's arm, looking at him.
"He's—" You cleared your throat, willing your voice to go higher than a whisper.
"We're just going to talk." You assured him gently. Younghyun felt the jealously welling in his chest with how gentle you were with Sungjin. Sungjin let him go slowly, glaring at him warningly. Younghyun stared at him as he took you away.
Standing outside, you leaned against the wall and watched him nervously. You swallowed the lump in your throat as he stared you down, hands in his pockets.
"Is there something on my face?" You quoted him, a nervous smile on your face as he chuckled.
"Cute..." He muttered. Jaw dropping, you looked at him in complete shock.
"Did you just...?"
"Uh. Listen, Y/N. I uh.. saw you, last night. With Sungjin."
You went silent immediately. That means he...
"You saw me break down didn't you..." You looked down. He pitied you. You're never meeting him like this again.
"Pity. I have to go." You said, voice breaking near the end. Before you could though, Younghyun put his hands on either side of you, efficienctly confining you. Your heart was beating so quickly you were sure that you would faint soon.
"It's not that, Y/N. I just... I realized that instead of trying to avoid my feelings for you and leading Eunhi on—"
"You.. You what?" You asked completely blanking out.
"I like you, Y/N. I just couldn't find the confidence to tell you—" before he could finish you cupped his cheeks, effectively shutting him up.
With no afterthought, you brought him closer, standing on your toes and bringing your lips together. Younghyun was shocked for a moment, but his hand quickly moved to your waist, pulling you closer. After a moment or two more you pulled back and hugged him.
"Thank you for loving me back..." You whispered. Younghyun smiled, hugging you back tightly.
"Always."

French: /the petals of love/
Pairing: Gwi x fem! noble! Reader
Summary: A heartless vampire falls in love for the first time in centuries of loneliness. Passion, secrets, betrayal and love drown the royal palace. Will your love for Gwi prevail through time or will it wither away like a fallen rose petal? Maybe love was his punishment, maybe love was your salvation. Or wasn't it a curse to you both? Because, who can beat a race against time? Who can love in the dark? Who can love without truth? After all, even the most beautiful flower will wither away and end in ashes of time, remembered only by the one who cherished her the most.

A/N: Hello my beautiful darlings!!! I KNOW I have taken like a month to write this chapter but my project had been taking a lot of my attention lately and I had been feeling a bit of a burnout of writing that I had to take a much needed break🥱. However... I finally managed to sit down and write this chapter that is the top of the iceberg of something very big and dense and full of tension and uggghh. I can't tell or I'll spoil lol.
My project is already in the closing so I'll have some more time to write after I come back from a very much needed family vacation. Then I'll have the winter break and I hope it will be a productive month for me. Wishing you all the best, darlings and thank you a lot for your support and love ❤️❤️❤️ You lot have made this story come alive so thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

“We have to get rid of her.”
Tension rose in the room. The candles flickered and no one dared to utter a word.
“What is the reason behind this, Your Highness? Gwi is a very powerful being. If he finds out you are planning something against her… I don’t even want to say it.”
The Crown Prince took a deep breath, tilting his head up as he looked at the few people in the large room that supported him. His dark eyes flickering from minister to minister, feeling how helplessness tightened his chest at what little support he had behind him.
“The vampire won’t find out. I’ll make sure of it. This is our only opportunity to take the kingdom back.”
Another minister then spoke, his hands tangled in front of him as his expression was conflicted.
“My Prince, is it really necessary to harm Lady (y/n)? Maybe he is manipulating her and if so, we could offer her your protection.”
The Crown Prince clicked his tongue, his fingers tightening over his robes as his hands rested on his knees while he sat on the floor. His gaze darkened, a flicker of irritation crossing his face as he glanced sharply at the minister who dared to question him.
"Protection?"
He repeated the words with a low voice full of disdain.
"Do you think she’d accept it after all this time? The hold he has over her goes far deeper than mere manipulation."
His fingers dug into his robes, nearly trembling with restrained frustration.
"If we extend a hand to her, she may betray us without a second thought. She’s already too close to him."
A silence filled the room again, and the ministers exchanged uneasy glances, each unwilling to challenge him further. It was clear that their Prince had made up his mind, though his voice still held traces of doubt—a sign of the weight of his decision, of the fear lurking beneath his steely resolve.
Another minister spoke, leaning forward with cautious respect.
“Then… What is your plan, Your Highness?”
The Prince’s gaze shifted, and he took a steadying breath before replying in a steady voice that silenced the softest of murmurs within his people.
“Lady (y/n) represents something to Gwi. Something deeper than a mere possession of his. If we remove her from the game… his focus will falter.”
“But, Your Highness,” the first minister insisted, his voice barely a whisper. “If this fails… if he finds out before we can… remove her, then we risk not just our lives but the safety of the entire kingdom.”
The Crown Prince clenched his jaw, his knuckles turning white as he fought to steady his nerves.
"That is why we have to be swift. Precise. No mistakes. The kingdom’s future rests on our ability to carry this out without error."
Silence settled once more, and the flickering candlelight cast elongated shadows across the room, their wavering forms mirroring the Prince’s own wavering resolve.
“Will you… kill Lady (y/n), My Prince? Is that what we are to do?”
Prince Want Hyu shook his head, a subtle smirk dancing over his thin lips.
“We are not going to get rid of her. The vampire will, with his own hands.”
The underground palace felt suffocating. A tension had fallen over it in the last few days, a tension you couldn’t seem to shake off your mind. You walked into the throne room, holding a tray with Gwi’s evening tea. Your skirts kissed the ground, the fabric rustling like whispers of a soul as you made your way through the large room.
He didn’t seem to notice your presence. Normally, Gwi would welcome you with a warm gaze and you’d smile, butterflies swirling in your stomach. But now, it felt as if you were in your early days in this place. Where he barely looked at you, and when he did, his dark eyes were cold. Detached.
You hated that look. After everything, you hated when he still seemed to discard your presence before him, letting himself exist only within his thoughts.
You climbed the stairs up to where he sat in that imposing throne of his. With a soft breath, you steadied yourself, hoping to pierce through the distance that had settled between you both. You approached with quiet grace, setting the tray down gently on the table next to him and clearing your throat as you straightened. At the soft sound, Gwi’s eyes flickered, and the detached look in his gaze softened as he took you in, his lips curving faintly in that familiar way that always made your heart skip.
"My sweet flower," he murmured, his voice low, reaching out to accept the cup from you with a slow, almost reverent touch. "Bringing me my evening tea, as always.”
He took a sip, savouring the warmth. You waited, watching him carefully, hoping for even the smallest hint of the warmth you’d come to know from him. And then, a light seemed to return to his eyes as he looked at you more closely.
“It’s sweet.”
The vampire pointed out, making a subtle blush dust your cheeks.
“I hope you don’t mind.”
He sighed, his eyes glinting with that enchanting look he always gave you. Those eyes of his spoke more than a thousand words ever could. His large hand grabbed yours, his cold touch contrasting with your warmth as his thumb ran over your knuckles in feather-like movements you could barely feel them.
“You know I like it sweet when you make my tea.”
You smiled, growing shy in his presence as you looked down at your joined hands. His voice was a dark murmur that made you tingle all over.
“Where have you been lately? I’ve barely crossed paths with you for some time, flower.” You looked up at him, your fingers playing with his own as you spoke, your voice soft; carried by the candlelight. “In the library. I found a book I liked.” He lifted an eyebrow, putting his cup down on the table.
His hand grabbed your wrist and before you could process it, Gwi yanked you forward and you landed on his lap. His arms encircled your waist as he pressed you against him. Your eyes widened as your lips parted in a gasp. Your eyes met his, and as you blinked, you could have sworn you saw a glint of crimson in his dark eyes. You swallowed, your cheeks heating up at the proximity.
You tried to get up but his hands only tightened around you. You sat across his lap, the skirts of your dress puffing between you both as he looked down at you with tender eyes.
“Tell me,” The vampire began, one of his hands going up and twirling a strand of you (h/c) hair between his long and pale fingers “What have you been reading about?”
Your heart pounded in your chest as you tried to steady your breath, fully aware of the weight of his hands on your waist and the intensity of his gaze. Gwi's question lingered in the air, low and velvety, a sound that seemed to caress your very soul. His fingers continued to toy with your strand of hair, his movements almost hypnotic.
You blinked up at him, trying to focus on his question rather than the feeling of him enveloping you entirely. “It’s about myths and… legends.” You tried to adjust your sitting position but his hand grounded you down. You gulped, feeling nervous, hot. Bothered at how close he was. “There was a chapter about—uhmm— immortal beings.”
The corner of his lips twitched in amusement, though his eyes held something deeper—curiosity, perhaps, or even something darker that you couldn’t quite place. “Immortal beings,” he repeated, his tone rich with amusement. “And what did you think of these stories, my sweet flower? Were they fascinating? You didn’t get scared, did you?”
Your gaze flickered down to his chest, avoiding his piercing stare as you fiddled nervously with the edge of your sleeve. “A little,” you admitted. “But they are beautiful… yet there’s always this undercurrent of tragedy. It’s like immortality is both a blessing and a curse.”
Gwi tilted his head, his thumb brushing lightly against your side. “Is that so?” He asked. His voice dropped to a near, husky whisper that sent a shiver down your spine. “How curious that you would see it that way. Immortality, after all, spares you from the greatest tragedy of all: time.”
You frowned softly, meeting his gaze again. “But doesn’t it also isolate you? Watching as the people you care about…” Your words faltered, and you bit your lip, hesitant to finish the thought.
Your words, innocent in their ignorance, made his heart ache. You, in all your kindness and purity, remained in a dark world when it came to his true nature. The root of his existence. You didn’t know the man who held you so tenderly was an immortal being like the legends you read about to pass the time. You didn’t know how lonely his life had really been before you came to the picture. You didn’t know how much he struggled to not think about the time that had frozen for him but kept running for you. It was both a torment and a blessing.
The vampire chuckled softly, pushing his thoughts aside. Hiding his troubles behind his flirty demeanour only you got to see. “Such thoughts for one so young.” he murmured, his hand moving to cup your cheek gently. “You truly are a flower—fragile, thoughtful, and far too lovely for this world.”
You bit your lips, feeling heat rising to your cheeks once again. “You flatter me too much.” you whispered, feeling shy under his intense gaze. “I’m not as delicate as you think.”
His expression softened, and a rare smile curved his lips—a smile that seemed to melt away the tension that had gripped the room for days. Another of his traits to you. His smile was reserved to your eyes and your eyes only. And the sight of it eased worries you didn’t even know were weighing down on your chest. “Oh, my sweet flower, you’re far stronger than you give yourself credit for. But even the strongest of flowers need care… and protection.” His fingers traced along your jawline, leaving a trail of cold that sent tingles over your skin. “You know you’ll always have mine.”
The sincerity in his voice took your breath away, and for a moment, the world seemed to shrink to just the two of you. The underground palace, the flickering candlelight, and even the oppressive tension faded into the background.
“I love you.”
The way you spoke, the genuine words that left your lips melted his heart. He gazed into your eyes, not able to look away even if he wanted to. You had put a spell on the vampire. You had captured his heart with your soft words and gentle touches. You lit a flame of hope in his dark soul and he had already gotten accustomed to the warmth, your warmth.
Gwi leaned down, his lips pressing against yours in a light kiss. It lasted seconds, but he could drown in your lips for decades. He could stay in your arms for centuries.
“The day the moon does not illuminate the night, the day the sun doesn’t shine would be the day I die of love for you, my petal. Only you could kill me in such a way.”
You leaned your head against his chest, closing your eyes and savouring the feeling of being held so tenderly. You took in his addictive scent, that smell of musk and smoke and a fragrance that was entirely him. And then you repeated your confession. This time only for his ears to hear and his heart to treasure.
“I love you.”
Times stretched on, slipping through your fingers like water. One of your hands played softly with Gwi’s dark hair. You noticed how his grip on your waist tightened and you looked into his eyes, the shadows of the candles nearby sharpened his handsome features. You couldn’t look away from him until he lifted his gaze and met your (e/c) eyes.
“Something’s troubling you.”
The vampire sighed, averting his gaze before he spoke in that measured, dark rumble of his. “I will be away tonight. Do not wait for me, petal.”
You frowned, leaning back slightly to be able to look at him more properly. “Where are you going?” He didn’t meet your eyes, instead his attention got stolen by the flicker of a flame from one of the candles. “Just business. Nothing to concern you.” He heard as you sighed, your hand dropping from his hair to rest on his shoulder.
“Business that keeps you out all night?” His gaze hardened as he regarded you, tilting his chin to remind you of his authority. “Do not question me, petal. I have things that need to be done. Consider yourself fortunate that I let you know.”
You swallowed. One moment he was telling you he’d loved you until the sun would burn out and the next he was as cold as ice. You lowered your gaze, your heart clenching. You hated it when he pushed you away. You hated it when he rose his walls and left you out as if you didn’t matter to him. You knew he cared about you. However, the fact that he acted as if he sometimes didn’t is what hurt the most.
“Yes, My Lord.”
He didn’t stop you as you stood up from his lap. As you busied yourself with picking up the empty cup of tea, he closed his eyes and sighed, straightening up in his throne. You didn’t say another word as you left the main hall, tray in hand but leaving your heart behind. The sound of your steps faded down the hallway as you disappeared into the corridors of the underground palace, leaving the vampire with only the flickering candles as company.
His now crimson eyes followed the path you had taken until even the faintest trace of your presence was gone. The emptiness that filled the space was suffocating, gnawing at the edges of his carefully maintained resolve.
He leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees as he buried his face in his hands. This wasn’t what he wanted. Not the icy distance, not the disappointment in your voice, not the ache that settled deep in his chest when you looked at him like that.
Yet, he couldn’t tell you. You were his soft flower, his fragile petal, untainted by the darkness that consumed him. How could he admit that tonight, under the pull of the full moon, his thirst would overpower even his strongest will? That he would need to hunt to quell the raging hunger coursing through his veins?
Yet the thirst was too much and he soon found himself out of his sanctuary. The hunger that drove him nearly mad consumed him as he drank from a wandering trader. The screams got swallowed by the forest as he feasted. All his anger, his frustrations, his hate came out that night. Ending the life of innocent people. His emotions made Gwi lose control and he ravaged any living soul that dared cross his path.
His clothes were stained with the blood he spilled that night. A rampage like no other. The royal palace usually prepared for him maidens from the king so that he could drink under the disguise of the royal family. But tonight, he wanted to hunt. He didn’t want to just drink blood, he wanted to kill.
"From now on, you serve me, sweet petal. You are mine now."
“And why would leaving make you happy? You have everything you could ever want here with me.”
“Remember that you are mine, little petal. I don’t want you going around on your own.”
How cruel were the words he had spoken to you in the past. You belonged to him, yes. But did he belong to you as well? He wasn’t sure. He ruled over Joseon through the king. He had to keep his power yet he couldn’t deny you were the source of his biggest sentiment. You may have everything you could ever want by his side but there was something he couldn’t give you. And that was the truth.
The truth about his nature.
The truth about his secrets.
The truth about his love.
Your steps paraded through the darkened corridors of the underground palace. The only source of light being the one of the single candle you carried with yourself in your rose-like chamberstick.
It had been hours since Gwi had left your shared sanctuary. Your heart was heavy as you remembered your last conversation with him. The way he had closed off, how he had hardened his gaze and his heart to you. To you. The one he claimed owned his heart. The one whom he called his flower. His petal in a dead and forgotten garden.
You couldn't sleep. Because every time you closed your eyes, you saw the coldness in his dark irises. And every time you remembered, you grew nauseous at the paradoxical relationship you shared with the handsome lord of the mysterious underground palace.
You couldn't sleep. Your bed was cold. Your hands were lonely as you didn't have him by your side to cuddle like every night.
You couldn't sleep. Your soul was heavy. Carrying a weight that wasn't yours to be beared. You were the shadow of his secrets. The discarded beauty of his dark world.
And you hated it. You hated it not with anger but with a sadness deeper than the ocean itself.
Your feet carried you out of your room, through the corridor and to the throne hall. You looked up at the empty throne. That imposing chair where he often sat and only earlier that day had he held you so tenderly.
A single ray of moonlight seeped through the ceiling, shining directly over the throne. It looked majestic, mysterious even. Just like him.
You sighed to yourself, averting your eyes from the thorn and continued on walking through another corridor you weren’t allowed to go. But Gwi wasn’t here. Would he notice? Would he get angry at you?
Your hand trembled ever so slightly as you held the chamberstick in front of you. The single flame guiding you through the shadows. You entered one of the corridors hidden from view. A long and dark hallway led to Gwi’s private room. You had been in that room once or twice before he told you it was off-limits. You respected his wishes. But now, now your heart was too heavy for you to be alone.
The skirts of your white dress kissed the ground as you stopped at the threshold. You took a deep breath, feeling like an intruder in your own sanctuary. Feeling like a stranger in his heart.
With slow steps, you entered his room. The flickering candlelight shadowed your features as you sat down on his bedding. It looked pristine. Almost as if he had never used it. The room held a stillness that felt heavy, pressing against your chest like an unseen weight. As you sat on his bedding, you realised how cold it was, a stark contrast to the warmth that Gwi always radiated when he held you close. You trailed your fingers over the fine fabric, imagining the times when his arms had been your sanctuary, his whispered endearments your lullabies.
The flickering candlelight danced across the room, casting shadows that seemed alive, their shapes twisting like echoes of your unrest. You thought about the way Gwi had looked at you earlier—so distant, so unreachable. It was as though he had taken his heart and locked it away, leaving you to grapple with the ache of his absence, even when he was near.
You sighed, the sound barely audible in the stillness. You couldn't shake the feeling that you were trespassing, not just into his private quarters but into the part of him he refused to share. Did he care for you, or were you just another piece in the intricate puzzle of his existence? The questions swirled in your mind, each one cutting deeper than the last.
Lying back on the bedding, you stared up at the ceiling. The faint smell of him lingered in the air. It comforted you and hurt you all at once. The thought of him out there, doing God-knows-what, gnawed at you. Was he in danger? Was he alone? And if not, who kept him company?
Tears pricked the corners of your eyes, but you blinked them away. Crying wouldn’t bring him back, nor would it soften the coldness in his gaze. You clutched the bedding tighter, wishing it were him instead. The exhaustion of your emotions weighed heavily on you, and your eyelids began to droop despite your turmoil.
As you drifted into a restless slumber, the candle beside you sputtered and extinguished, plunging the room into darkness. The shadows seemed to close in, but you didn’t wake. Instead, you dreamed—of his touch, his voice, his love. In your dreams, he was warm and kind, the way he used to be. And for a brief moment, you felt at peace, cradled by the memory of the man you loved.
But even in your dreams, you couldn’t escape the nagging fear that his secrets would one day break you.
“You speak as if you harbour such feelings for me.”
His voice was softer, more gentle. But it was that dark symphony of words that made your heart race and your mind spiral with emotions too complex to understand.
“That’s because I do.”
You looked up once more, meeting his intense gaze that held a softness in such darkness you had never seen before.
“You claimed me as your own; unknowingly you claimed my heart as well.”
Gwi shook his head, the words he was hearing were not meant to leave your lips. He wasn’t meant to feel his dead heart come back alive with such a declaration of devotions that went beyond your service to him.
“You cannot love me.”
His words were laced with so much pain, whispered to the air as if he was confessing the biggest of sins. Silent tears rolled down your cheeks, your heart aching for the man that owned you in more ways than he should.
“Why?”
A question so small yet filled with pain. You couldn’t stop looking up at him. Waiting for him to give you his heart as well.
“Because you will end up hurt, petal. And the single thought of you being hurt pains me to no end.”
“Then don’t. Don’t hurt me. Do not break my heart.”
The memory broke through the fog of his mind. Gwi opened his eyes, his crimson irises returning to their natural dark brown as he looked over the lake deep into the forest. His clothes were stained with the blood of his victims. Those unfortunate souls that happened to cross his path tonight.
He looked at the moon’s reflection on the still water as memories plagued his mind. Memories of you. Your voice. Your touch. Your declarations of love that you whispered to his ear every night.
He sighed. The memory of today’s interaction flashed in front of him. He shouldn’t have dismissed your concerns the way he did. He clenched his jaw, looking away from the lake. He should have stayed behind. He shouldn’t have acted like he did.
But his nature’s call had been stronger than the whispers of his heart. He had to leave you to quench his monstrous thirst for human blood. He had to leave you to keep his secret hidden in the shadows of his existence. Yet he also knew he had to make it up to you.
Somehow.
However, the hunger still gnawed at him. Gwi was weak when it came to the temptation of the flesh. To the desire of blood filling his mouth and that delicious bitter taste that was the source of his power all along.
So he turned around, walking further into the forest as the moon got hidden by the large trees. His dark robes rustled the leaves on the ground, his hands stained in blood as he clenched them at his sides.
If only he had been stronger. If only he had stayed behind. Maybe the mighty and unyielding vampire lord would have stopped the Crown Prince’s plan from taking action that night. Maybe he would have been able to stop the man that entered his underground palace while you were asleep. Maybe he would have been able to stop the tragedy that unfolded that night.
The seed was planted.
And Prince Wang Hyu was left waiting until the flower of hatred bloomed fully in the shadows of that cursed palace of thorns and secrets. That same palace where the vampire's flower lived. That sanctuary that belonged to you as well as Gwi. The place where love rose from the ashes but was yet to burn in its own passion.

Summary: The reader is a girl who loves pink and is a ballerina. Yeonjun is a boy who loves black and wants to be a singer. What happens when they love each other?
Warning: cussing, angst, father not liking Yeonjun.
Genre: angst. fluff.
*PLEASE DO NOT STEAL MY WORK*
*THIS IS PURELY FICTION*
-------------------------------------------------------
Y/N's POV:
I have known Yeonjun ever since he moved to the neighborhood I grew up in as a child.
I would see him and he would be so different from what I am used too. I am a person who loves ballet and loves pink.
He's different. He paints his nails black. He wears edgy clothes. My dad told me to stay away......but I don't.
Yeonjun....has my heart.
Now, we are in our senior year of high school. We are the opposite, but every time I see him, he makes my heart beat so fast.
-------------------------------------------------------
"Alright!! Now don't forget to rehearsal tomorrow and Friday. The big show is next week!!" The teacher tells us happily.
I smile and get excited. This performance is my last one with this teacher, and I'll go to college with my dance degree.
I get a full scholarship, and I'm really excited.
"Alright, now get out of here and go relax." She says and we get up and get our stuff.
I grab my bag and water bottle.
"Bye, Y/N!" I turn and see Lisa wave. I wave back, and I walk out.
I walk and see Yeonjun. Wait? Why is he here? I walk over to him.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"I wanted to drive you home, my lady." He says flirtatiously.
I blush.
"Well, thank you, kind sir."
He smiles and grabs my bag. He puts it in his car. He opens the door for me, and I get in. I put on my seat belt and he gets in. He starts the car and we leave.
"You know you didn't have to do this."
"I know, but I wanted to." He winks at me.
I blush and roll my eyes.
"You're such a flirt, I swear."
"Only to pretty ballerinas." I look at him in shock.
"Oh my God." I blush.
He laughs and smiles.
He puts on music, and it plays "She smiled" by Day6.
"Day6? You like them?"
"I honestly got into them because of you. I know you love them." I blush again. I swear it feels like I'm going to explode from how many times he makes me blush.
I smile and sing a lot to the song. He sings with me. I didn't realize how gorgeous his voice was. I could listen to it for hours. His playlist plays Jeff Satur, The Rose, and Laufey. Wait....these are some of the artists I like.
I look at his phone sneakily and see a playlist called Y/N ❤️🥺.
My name with a heart next to it? Wait...he made a playlist just for me? With artists, he knows I like. I blush even more, and we get to my house.
"Here we are, my lady." He smiles.
"Thank you." I take my seat belt off.
"Hey, um...if you don't have anything going on tomorrow after school, want to hang out with me?" He rubs his neck.
"Oh, um for a little bit, I have another ballerina rehearsal at 5 to 7."
"Cool, we can eat before you go. If that's ok, with you?"
"Sure! I guess I'll see you tomorrow."
"See you!" He says, and I get out of the car. I close his door and unlock the door. I get inside, and I see him driving off.
"Honey, your home!" I hear my mom.
"Hi, mom!" I hug her.
She sits on the couch.
"How was rehearsals?"
"Really good, actually. My teacher says I'm the best one she's ever known."
"Oh, I'm so proud of you!" She says happily.
I smile.
"Where's dad?" I ask.
"In his office. He came back late, then when straight to his office."
I nod.
"Also, I saw Yeonjun's car. Did he drop you off?" She asks.
I blush and nod.
"He did. He made me a playlist even. I wasn't expecting that at all." I blush even more.
"So cute. You see, your father doesn't like him, but I love him. He is a sweetheart. Your father gets worried because you're his daughter. But he's too harsh about that boy."
I nod.
"You have my blessings."
I look at her with wide eyes.
"Really?"
"Yes. I remember when I was young and fell in love with someone whom my father didn't approve of. Which was your father."
"Dad? No way."
"Its true. He even had a leather jacket." She giggles.
I laugh.
"Thank you, mom." I say softly and she smiles at me.
"Just promise me you'll be careful."
"I promise." I hug her gently.
-------------------------------------------------------
I was in my last class of the day. Art. I draw some fruit.
"Oh, that looks amazing, Y/N." I look and see Lily.
I smile.
"Thank you. What did you draw today?"
"Oh, a waterfall." She tells me.
"Oooo looks so pretty," I say.
"Thank you. So, how is it going with Mr. Emo?" She smiles as she asks me this. I blush.
"Well.......Yeonjun is taking me somewhere today before rehearsal." I tell Lily.
She squeals and people in the class look at us. I cover her mouth.
"Lily!" I whisper yell.
"Sorry." She whispers back.
I smile at her.
"It's not a date."
"It should be. Girl, he's head over heels for you." She tells me.
I shake my head and roll my eyes.
"No, he's not."
"You are blind then." I roll my eyes. She giggles. "Have fun on your date." I shake my head.
I start packing my stuff and get ready to leave. I grab my drawing and hand it to the teacher.
"Good job. Very creative." He tells me.
"Thank you, sir." I bow and wave bye. I grab my stuff and leave.
I walk out of the building and see Yeonjun already waiting. He's wearing a black t-shirt with a grey jacket, and black jeans. He's so beautiful.
I look around and see them confused. I already hear people talk and I get nervous. He looks up at me and smiles. I blush.
I walk up to him.
"Here is my lady. I was wondering when you would show up, " he says, smiling at me. I smile.
"You flirt! Let's go already." I say as he opens the door for me and I get in the car.
I put on my seat belt and he gets in the car. He drives away.
"Want to pick a playlist? I have many." He says.
"Sure." I smile and grab his phone and look through his music app. I go through his playlist and see the same one from yesterday. I blush and go through it. Holy shit.... it's most of the groups I enjoy. And artists. He made this one for me?? Just for me? Why?
I press play to it and it plays Jeff Satur like last night. But it's a different song. He knows how much Jeff means to me.
"So, where are we going?" I ask.
"A place I know you'll love." He smiles at me.
"Oh, I am intrigued."
"Oh, just wait, my lady." I blush so much.
-------------------------------------------------------
We get to a cat cafe. I gasp.
"A CAT CAFE?!"
He smiles.
"I know how much you love cat cafes."
I get out excited.
"Wait, I was going to open the door for you." I giggle.
"You don't always have to do that."
"I know, but I want to." I get quiet and we go inside.
I look at the menu and I saw the chocolate muffin and hot chocolate combo.
"Order anything. It's on me." I blush.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah go ahead."
"Then a chocolate muffin with hot chocolate please."
"Anything for you." Yeonjun says flirtatiously.
He orders our stuff, and we go to sit down in a booth. I see three cats near the booth. I squeal. A cat walks over to us and plops down on my lap. I smile and pet its head gently.
"Hi little baby."
Yeonjun smiles at me.
"It likes you." I smile.
"Well, I love you too." I say to the cat gently and it looks up at me.
"This cat looks like a cloud with how fluffy it is," Yeonjun says.
I giggle. It was about 10 minutes later that our food and drinks is ready. He gets up and grabs our stuff. I smile as I watch him go get it.
He comes back and puts stuff on the table.
"Ohhh, thank you, Yeonjun." I smile and I drink my hot chocolate.
We sit and chat for a while. We played with cats after we ate and drank our drinks.
We leave happily.
"That was so much fun," I say happily.
Yeonjun opens the door to his car for me and I get in. I put on my seat belt.
He takes me to my rehearsal.
"I'll be here when you get out." He tells me.
"Wait what? It's going be a while."
"I don't mind. I have homework. And my computer and earbuds. I don't mind waiting for you, my lady." This man knows how to melt my heart. I smile.
"Ok, but don't complain to me when you get bored."
"I promise. " I shut the door and go to the building.
I found out I was the first one here, so I put on my outfit and practiced.
-------------------------------------------------------
*after rehearsal*
"Y/N! You were amazing today!" Lisa tells me.
"Oh, thank you! I really appreciate it."
"Y/N, I saw Yeonjun's car outside when we came in. Me and Faye. So, did he drop you off?" Tiffany asks me.
"Oh...um yes. He dropped me off."
"Oh my god!" Tiffany squeals.
"I knew he liked you!" Faye says.
"He doesn't! He is just a good friend who takes care of me."
"Yeah, and does stuff that a boyfriend would do," Lisa says.
"And besides....you like him too," Faye says.
I blush.
"I do....but...he's just being nice. Look I gotta go." I grab my stuff and run out.
I look and see Yeonjun writing in his car. He's so pretty....no....i shouldn't think like this...
I go to the back and open the door and put my stuff in. I shut the door and go to the passenger side.
"There's my lady." I close the door and blush.
"Hi, Yeonjun." I smile.
"Ready to go?"
"Yes." I nod and he drives off.
Music plays in the background as he drives me home. We get to my house and I get out of the car.
"Wait!" Yeonjun stops me.
I turn to him.
"Can I drop you off again tomorrow?"
"Again?" I blush.
"Yes." He smiles at me.
I blush and nod.
He smiles at me and waves. I wave back and he leaves. I walk inside the house and gasp and see my dad mad.
"Was that the boy Yeonjun?"
"It was," I say quietly, getting scared.
"I told you to stay away from him."
"But dad-"
"Stay away from him! He is nothing but a no good asshole who will bring nothing but bad things. So I better not see him again! Now go to your room! I don't want even look at you!" He says angry and I start crying and upstairs. I shut my door in my room and I run to my bed crying.
He's such a jerk....
-------------------------------------------------------
A week has passed and it is now the day of the performance. I start getting nervous and I feel like crying.
I look out to see the audience, I see my friends and mom. My mom was talking to another mom. I look around and I don't see my father. Not surprised. He's either working or yelling.
I look around some more and in the back I see....Yeonjun....with his group of friends. He looks at me and smiles at me.
I blush and close the curtain.
"Ready ladies?!" My teacher asks.
"Yes!" We all yell.
"Alright! Places!"
We get into our spots.
-------------------------------------------------------
*after the performance.*
"Amazing job!" My friends hug me.
"Thank you!" They pull away and I see Yeonjun right behind them.
"Yeonjun..." I say softly. He shows me tulips.....my favorite flowers. I blush and smile. I grab them gently.
"You're as beautiful and as delicate as a tulip." He tells me.
A gasp is heard around me.
"Why don't we give them some space? Come on, girls." My mom tells my friends.
As it becomes me and him, I look into his eyes.
"I know, I'm not a guy who people would claim as no good or dangerous.....but......if you would have me.....can.....i be your boyfriend?"
I smile.
"Yes!" I don't care what anyone says......I'm in love with him....
He hugs me and kisses my cheek repeatedly.
I love him.
-------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone! I'm trying to come up with different themes for these stories. I'm honestly really proud of how far I'm coming along with these stories. I actually have an idea I wanted to talk to you all about. I wanted to write ideas for Christmas stories because it is coming up so quickly. What do you guys think?

How Enhypen Confess To You
(1/7 of this fic sponsored by my love of Day6 lol. Also, this is your daily reminder: don’t give ducks bread 🦆😆)
Jungwon
♡ The two of you had gone for a walk in the park, Jungwon having had a free day and not wanted to waste even the smallest piece of the precious spring beauty.
♡ At least that’s how it began. After a stroll beneath the blossoms, the two of you wended your way down the hilly green trails that led to the pond and tossed grape halves to the ducks that paddled around there. From there, you crossed to an open expanse of hills, the occasional couple and family dotting the wide green. You chatted, then Jungwon was lightly teasing you, and somehow in the shine of sun and mirth he started chasing you along one of the hills.
♡ You ran, giggling, and Jungwon was caught up in the joy of the perfect day. His foot caught as he ran, sending him stumbling forward. Before he could faceplant into the grass, though, you reached out and caught him by the collar of his cardigan, holding him steady and stepping closer to right him.
♡ “You’re my hero, (y/n),” he told you with a grin. “I’m just glad I was here to save you,” you replied with a joyous look of your own, “I think we were having a bit too much fun.” Jungwon paused, biting his lip with a bit of hesitance before he spoke. “I always have too much fun when I’m with you. Being with you, well…it just feels right.”
♡ “That’s exactly how I feel, Jungwon.” His smile widens, revealing the dimples you love, and his eyes drift down to your hand, which is still clutching his collar. Embarrassment flicks across your face, but is quickly eclipsed by mischief as you tug him toward your lips.
Heeseung
♡ He doesn’t think he should confess, frankly, because he’s scared of messing things with you and the guys up, so the rest of Enhypen decides to force his hand because there’s no way you guys don’t both like each other.
♡ They all hype up using one of their days off to go see a movie, all eight of them. Jay says he’s heard good reviews, Riki and Sunoo say they can’t wait to see it, Jungwon thinks it’ll be great bonding time for you eight. Then when Heeseung and you arrive at the theatres early just like the whole group chat planned, none of them are there.
♡ Seeing him as the most trustworthy, Heeseung texts Jungwon to see what's up, apologizing to you as he does so. "I'm so sorry, I'm not sure what's wrong with everybody." Ding.
Yang Jungwon: Oh, we aren't going, we all got...called in for a doctor’s appointment! ㅎ ㅎ Enjoy your date :3
Me: What? Was this all part of your little plan? It isn't a date if we don't both agree and think of it as one.
Yang Jungwon: Then make it one 😼
♡ "I'm sorry," Heeseung sighs, apologizing once more in a calm voice despite his internal monologue being ready to punch all of his dongsaengs, "now it looks like they're dropping the ball. Something about doctor's appointments or something. If you want to call it off, I understand." Your look of concern melted into incredulity. "No one's sick or hurt, are they?" Not until I'm through with them. "No, not really, I don't think." "Then as long as you don't have to leave," you say with a smile, "why would we have to cancel? I for one am really glad to be able to spend more time with you." The earnest way you speak, your pretty smile and the pleased tilt of your lips, it's all too much for Heeseung. You just sound so sincere, maybe, just maybe, this can be a date. If he doesn't try, he'll regret it for the rest of his life.
♡ "I am, too. Glad that I get to spend more time with you, that is. The truth is, (y/n), that I like you." "I like you too!" You reply brightly, leaning closer into his side as his jaw drops. "You do? The others were right then..." He pulls you into his side, chuckling. "Well, in that case, I'll tell you the truth: they bailed because they wanted me to make this a date." "If that was what it took," you joked, linking your arm with Heeseung's, "I'd have cancelled one of our plans long ago."
Jay
♡ Jay's torn. What's the best way to show someone you really care? A grand gesture, showing them you'd go out of your way for them and spoiling them with the appreciation they deserve. What's the safest way to make your feelings known without the pain of a long, hard, detailed rejection? Just slipping their object a little line that might go over their head.
♡ He practically practices the line more than the outing, convinced having the perfect one is more make-or-break than your destination, which you two would enjoy almost no matter what. He could ask 'wanna kiss?', then have a couple Hershey's in his bag as backup if you were grossed out. But that was a bit too forward maybe? It needed to be something between a compliment and a cheap pickup phrase.
♡ You arrive at the art gallery, the place where Jay had reserved entry tickets and invited you to stroll through with him. He has to smile at the sight of you dressed in a black outfit that was perfectly your style... and accidentally complimentary to his own dark-hued look. "Hey, we match!" You beat him to the punch as you greeted him with a hug, smiling wider at the fond look he gave you as you pulled away. At the thought of you two resembling a couple, Jay’s fondness intensifies. “We sure do.”
♡ You’re strolling past a section of Victorian art, landscapes and beautiful portraits alike. Every now and again, you tug on Jay’s sleeve, pointing him towards one that really speaks to you with sparkling eyes that have him subconsciously leaning into you that much more, far more taken by that than anything a paintbrush can create. His jacket brushes your cheek at one point, a flush of admiration creeping to his face at the adorable way you crinkle your nose.
♡ “You know where the prettiest work of art here is?” Jay suddenly asks you after a few minutes of taking in a gorgeous floral still-life. “Where?” You ask, head suddenly snapping up like you could beat him to finding it. Shaking his own head, Jay motions to you. “Right here.” If you laugh it off, he’ll back off, he thinks. But instead you turn your head away shyly. “I didn’t know you thought that,” you replied quietly. “I do,” Jay insists, craning his neck to look more directly at you. “And here I thought you were more handsome than any statue we saw today,” you added more boldly, and Jay was practically ready to faint. He settled for yanking you into a kiss before you could see his blush, though.
Jake
♡ You’re the most amazing person Jake has ever met, so you deserve to be told that, shown that & then some. What to do, though, that would capture it?
♡ Learn a song to serenade you with, that’s what!!! What captures how Jake is feeling, and how he wants you to know that even if it’s hard, you can say no? Day6’s 좋아합니다 (I Like You) is what he settles on, the words shaking him to his core when he listens to it, realizing it’s exactly what he wants to say to you. It feels like they wrote it for that moment. He wants to love you, but he doesn’t want to lose you, either.
♡ He practices every day that he can, learning a rendition on his guitar to back up the lyrics, which he pours his heart into every time. Finally, he tells you he wants to show you something, pulling you aside and readying his guitar as he gives you the most emotion-filled performance yet. Your hands are reaching for your quickly beating heart by the time Jake is finished, your voice faltering as it gushes praises for his beautiful performance.
♡ "H- have you ever felt like that, (y/n)?" Jake suddenly asks, head tilting as he looks away, running a hand through the hair falling at the back of his neck. "Yes," you reply quietly with a nod. Even as his gaze drops, your eyes follow his, much steadier than your words. "Well, me too. You're one of the best friends I've had, so I don't want you to feel uncomfortable, but I just had to tell you somehow how amazing you are. You're just a great person and you make me happy. Would you ever consider being more than friends?"
♡ "Yes," you repeated, this time a bit louder, "I thought my heart was going to explode because you were singing exactly how I feel about you! Yes, yes, I would!" Jake leapt off the stool he'd sat on to play you his song, running to stand by you and take the hand that was pressed over your heart in his with a few lighthearted taps. "No exploding! No exploding!" You giggled at his sweet voice and cute expression, feeling warmth rise to your cheeks. "How can it not when you do that?"
Sunghoon
♡ Bro it is a total accident 💀 leave it to Sunghoon’s luck…but also apparently do actually because it gets him to confess to you 👀
♡ It all started on Enhypen’s and your game night. Heeseung was all geared up to destroy Jungwon, Sunoo, and Riki at Mario Kart while the rest of you had somehow gotten entangled in a game of Monopoly, and we all know how that goes!
♡ “I’m the ultimate businessman,” Jay remarked, “so I’m going to win this!” “You never know,” Sunoo contested, “with my luck I might beat you!” “So you guys are just ignoring me?” Jake teased, turning away in mock offense. “That’s cool. That’s fine. You’ll all see. What about you, Sunghoon? Are you going to win or are you going to let (y/n) win?” Jake asked, turning Sunghoon’s way with a nod of the head towards you. After a brief, barely perceptible dagger-glare Jake’s way, Sunghoon responded, managing to cover his pounding heart with a “Well, we’ll just have to see, huh?”
♡ When you start playing, though, for all of Sunoo and the J-boys’ talk, you’re the one accruing wealth at the fastest rate, having gotten multiple chances at expensive properties that really stabbed everyone for toll. Jay, wanting to take you down, told Sunghoon the moment he had a chance to buy one off of you. “Ruin (y/n)’s chances of winning,” he urged. “Are you really going to destroy my empire now?” You mock-pouted, and to your faint surprise Sunghoon relented immediately, determined stare softening back up. “No, I like you too much to do that.”
♡ The game piece you were holding (the dog, of course, for Sunghoon made sure to sneak it by you so you had your favorite) tumbled out of your hand. “You like me too?” Sunghoon froze, eyes darting between the fallen pewter scotty and your slowly fading smile. Your own gaze started to fall from him…wait, you thought- “I do! I really do!” He blurted out in a panic before you thought he misunderstood. When your smile came back, he reached down, picked up your game piece, and pressed it into your hand. Taking the piece slowly, your hands brushing with his, you looked at him with triumphant joy. He finished his turn immediately, letting his hand creep over to yours when you righted your piece again, attention far from Monopoly. “Jake was right. I’m so letting you win.”
Sunoo
♡ No matter when he does it, where Sunoo confesses how he feels about you, he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that it’s a moment that’ll be captured forever in his memory.
♡ That thought gets his mental gears turning just as they turn trying to confirm he has a chance with you, working until they hatch a plan that makes him happy enough to burst into a smile just walking down the hall at work.
♡ “Hey, we’ve never done this before- let’s try it!” Looking up, you follow Sunoo’s pointing hand across the lane to lock your gaze on a photo booth. It was your first time hanging out since the idea had come to him, so he chose your venue wisely. Luckily you agreed immediately, eagerly pulling him into the booth and pulling out money to deposit into the machine.
♡ For the first shot, you did bunny ears on top of Sunoo’s head with your index and middle fingers while he did a flower pose, smile full as he laughed at your teasing pose and admired your smile. In the second, you made normal smiles as you each put a hand out, forming a heart shape. The timer started counting down, so you turned to Sunoo to ask what you should do next, only to be met with a dreamy look in his lovely amber eyes. “I like you,” he said. Your hands flew up by your face, barely able to obscure the massive smile that spread across it. Click. The camera went off right as you reacted, but you barely regarded it.
♡ The last shot on the strip, neither of you were really looking at the camera, you least off all as you were turned, eyes fluttering shut, lips pressed to Sunoo’s cheek. Just as the thought had echoed across his mind, he truly captured the moment forever and ever, each of you carrying a copy that you could hold and reminisce on for the rest of your lives.
Ni-Ki
♡ He wants everything to be perfect, so by golly it will be 😤
♡ Step One? He’s inviting you to your favorite place, be it a cute café or a full-on restaurant, you will be meeting him there. Step Two is procuring the flowers he will be presenting you with as you walk in.
♡ Which you eventually do, literally taking Riki’s breath away with how you make even the simplest of outfits look amazing and the way your smile holds a perfect day’s rising sun.
♡ Your mouth falls open at the flowers, blossoms delicately bursting from their paper confines as they fave you. “Riki, this is amazing, but what’s this all for?” You truly look confused and he almost wants to laugh. He does chuckle, in fact. “What? Is it obvious?” You ask him. You guys are young. It’s not like you’re getting flowers left and right. “It is to me. I really like you, (y/n). So we’re going to have the best day ever!” He smiles widely as his eyes fix you in a way they’ve never done before. It falters slightly the longer you stare, returning only when you mirror it.
♡ “I already have!” You exclaim, gently moving the flowers aside to pull Riki into a hug. You feel a breath of startlement escape him before he tightly hugs back, practically crushing the life out of you in response and swinging you back and forth a bit. As you pulled away, looking into those beautiful brown eyes, you giggled. “I didn’t expect you to be so traditional!” “I wanted to get the point across!” He shot back with a playful shove. “It only took me a second because I felt like I was dreaming,” you replied.

try hard - kwak jiseok
☆彡 I’ve had this idea since I started this account. I’m glad it finally got to see the light. Thank you all for your patience; I hope you enjoy <3
synopsis: you’ve been head-over-heels for Gunil for a while now, but what happens when Jiseok finds an extravagant way to try and tell you how he feels?
based on 5 Seconds of Summer’s song Try Hard
word count: 2,365 | pronouns used: they/them | genre: angst | cws: one sided pining, no happy ending, member-on-member jealousy, swearing, lmk if I missed something!
Jiseok flopped down on his bed and let out a sigh. Practice today felt so much longer than usual. Maybe it was the pressure of their upcoming stage performance, or maybe it was his poor sleep schedule. Either way, Jiseok felt like he was fighting hard to keep his eyes open. All he wanted was to fall asleep right here, right now- half strewn across his bed in the clothes that he wore to the studio. The only thing that kept him awake, however, was his stomach. Hyeongjun was supposed to start making dinner once everybody got home. If Jiseok wasn’t so tired, he would’ve offered to help.
Eventually, the sound of laughter and the scent of whatever Hyeongjun was cooking danced their way into Jiseok’s room, pulling him out of his sleepy haze. There was a voice he didn’t quite recognize- it definitely wasn’t one of his bandmates. Listening through his walls wasn’t solving his mystery, so Jiseok reluctantly rose to his feet and made his way to the kitchen.
“Hey, there he is,” Seungmin announced to the group as Jiseok shuffled through the doorway. “We were just going to come get you for dinner. We thought you fell asleep.”
“Not yet,” Jiseok huffed. “Too hungry.”
“Well the food’s ready. Grab a plate.”
After serving himself, Jiseok made his way to the dinner table and found an extra seat across from his.
“Hey, Jiseok,” you greeted.
“(Y/N), hey. I didn’t know you were joining us for dinner tonight.”
You nodded happily. “Gunil told me he was feeling a little stressed about your upcoming performance, so I thought I’d stop by and try to help him relax.”
Jiseok nodded understandingly. You and Gunil had just recently started dating, and Jiseok wasn’t sure how to take it. He never told Gunil, but he had developed feelings for you a while ago. You and Jiseok had known each other for a long time; he was even the one who introduced you to Gunil. So when you and Gunil started going out, there was nothing Jiseok could do other than be happy for you. He had lost his chance fair and square, but he would be lying if he said he wasn’t jealous. “What’s got you so stressed, Gunil?” He decided to ask.
“Well,” Gunil sighed. “Shortly after leaving practice, our manager called to tell us that our stage time was upped by five minutes- which is great! However, our manager thinks it would be smart to have us perform a new cover for publicity. The performance is now less than a week away and we don’t have any ideas, so start throwing some out.”
“5 Seconds of Summer!” Jooyeon suggested instantly. Jungsu rolled his eyes.
“We can’t always cover 5 Seconds of Summer just because you have a man-crush on Luke Hemmings.”
“C’mon!” He insisted. “It’s a song I’ve really been wanting to cover, and I think we would do great!”
“What’s it called?” Gunil asked.
“Try Hard. It’s an older song, but it’s so good. They never perform it, so I think it would be fun to give it a try!”
“Okay,” Gunil shook his head, sounding slightly defeated. “We can keep that one in mind- play it for us after dinner. We can keep thinking of more ideas.”
As dinner progressed, a few more ideas were tossed around for covers. Paramore, DAY6, Muse- but nothing seemed to stick. Once dinner finally ended, Jooyeon got his chance to introduce the group to the song he had in mind. His excitement was evident as everyone listened along.
Jiseok listened intently- trying to ignore the way Jooyeon was serenading the group along with the song. He glanced over at you, and you seemed to be enjoying it almost as much as Jooyeon was. At this point, you had begun to bob your head along with the song, really getting into it. Jiseok didn’t miss the way that Gunil was looking at you; his eyes twinkling a little bit as he watched you jam alongside Jooyeon.
The song has a good guitar track, that was for sure. At the very least, it would be fun to perform. Nothing about the song really struck Jiseok too deeply until the second verse rolled around.
“She’s got a rose tattoo, but she keeps it covered. I play guitar, but she’s into drummers. She’s seen my face around, but she doesn’t even know my name.”
The pain that ran through Jiseok’s chest was almost tangible, striking him like an arrow. His eyes went wide and for a second he swears he started to hold his breath.
“Let’s do it,” he spoke out loud, not thinking about the timing of his comment. Luckily, nobody really seemed to notice. Jooyeon looked over, excited that someone was hearing him out.
“You really want to?” His smile was evident.
“Yeah. It’s a good song and it seems fun to play. Plus, I know you won’t get off our asses if we pick something else.”
Jungsu chuckled, “He has a point.”
Jooyeon’s eyes lit up as he looked at Gunil. “What do you think?”
“I don’t know… haven’t we already played like, three 5 Seconds of Summer songs?”
“Oh, c’mon, Gunil. This song is good!” You coaxed. “What would one more cover hurt? Besides, Villains would love it.”
Gunil let out a sigh, clearly having been won over by your opinion. “Alright, fine. I’ll talk to our manager first thing in the morning. Tomorrow we start working on arrangements.”
Everybody nodded their heads or made some sort of verbal agreement. Jiseok, on the other hand, was lost in thought as he continued to listen. He thought about the way you giggled at everything Gunil said and the way you couldn’t see how Gunil looked at you when you spoke to someone else. It was sickening. Once the song ended, Jiseok calmly slipped away from the others and back into his bedroom, the sound of your laughter fading out as he closed the door behind him.
☆
The next day, the practice room practically buzzed with the amount of work that was going on. Some of the guys were trying to find arrangements for the new cover, Gunil had been breaking into a new set of drumheads, and Jiseok was pretty sure Seungmin was about to break Jooyeon.
“Jooyeon if you don’t stop touching my stuff I’m gonna kick your ass!”
“I’m just grabbing my water!”
“Well then get your shit away from my shit!”
“Gunil!” Jooyeon called out like a child, “Seungmin is threatening me!” The group all looked back to their drummer, who was caught up with something on his phone. After a second, Gunil looked up at him.
“What’s wrong?”
Seungmin laughed. “Looks like somebody is too busy texting to save you,” Seungmin snuck up behind Jooyeon, grabbing his sides, causing Jooyeon to yell. It was now Gunil’s turn to laugh.
“Sorry, (Y/N) asked me a question. But, I’m good. No more distractions.”
Jiseok laughed to himself, knowing that would soon be proven to be a lie.
“Don’t worry about it,” Jungsu intervened, “They’re just messing around.”
Gunil sighed lightly. “Guys, come on. We don’t have the time to be goofing off. We’ve gotta be getting everything finalized for this stage or else management is gonna kill us.” The younger boys let out a group of collective sighs, returning to their instruments and getting back to work. Jiseok put the strap of his guitar back over his shoulders, taking a second to peak back at Gunil again, catching him as he picked up his phone again, laughing to himself and sending another text with a slight blush on his cheeks.
Jiseok scoffed quietly to himself, “What happened to no more distractions?” He shook his head with a sigh, turning back to his sheet music. Jungsu looked his way.
“You alright?”
Jiseok’s attention snapped over to Jungsu. “Yeah. I’m fine,” he responded rather unconvincingly.
“Okay,” Jungsu said with a soft smile. “You just… seem a little stressed, so I thought I’d check in.”
“Thanks.” Jiseok gave Jungsu a tight-lipped smile before turning away again.
☆
The day of their performance had finally come around, and the guys were all backstage doing their typical pre-show rituals. Seungmin had a small set of weights in each hand, Hyeongjun was tuning his guitars, and Jiseok watched from a distance as Gunil giggled into his phone over some sort of phone call. Jiseok took a long, shaky breath to try and steady his nerves, but when Gunil got off the phone and came trotting up to him, he had to act fast to find his usual happy facade.
“Jiseok!” Gunil called cheerfully. “(Y/N) called me to say ‘good luck,’ but they wanted me to tell you good luck as well,” he smiled. Jiseok fought his hardest to return the gesture and make it look genuine.
“Thanks,” he said simply.
“They’ll be right in the front,” Gunil continued, “I think they’re on your side of the stage too. Just letting you know so you know to look out for them!” With that, Gunil skipped off to start prepping for the performance.
Jiseok sat and thought about the way this performance was going to go. The cover was right at the end, and Jiseok could feel the seed of jealousy planting itself into his stomach as a plan formed in his head. He smirked to himself at the thought. Would it be petty? Absolutely, but Jiseok couldn’t stand this feeling anymore. He sat and played with his hands, cracking his knuckles and twiddling his thumbs, which finally led to Jungsu chiming in from his seat nearby.
“I don’t know what you’re thinking right now, but I advise that you stop,” Jungsu said simply, his voice steady and stern. Jiseok furrowed his eyebrows, giving him a confused look.
“What do you mean?”
“You know what I mean.” Jungsu got up from his seat, making his way over to Jiseok, his voice low. “Ever since the two of them got together, you obviously haven’t been happy about it. Gunil may be blind to your jealousy, but I’m not.” Jiseok looked up at Jungsu with wide eyes. “I haven’t seen him this happy in a long time,” Jungsu continued, “so I advise that you get over yourself before you cause any problems.” Jungsu gave Jiseok one final side eye before a stage manager came to collect the group of men to start setting up for their performance. Jiseok watched Jungsu walk away, knowing deep down that he was right. However, the seed had been planted, the jealousy had already taken root, and Jiseok couldn’t help but seethe as he picked up his guitar, pulled a pick from his pocket, and walked onto stage.
The performance had been going as expected: bright lights, loud fans, and that same energy that Jiseok always feels while performing that he still can’t find the right words to describe. He had located you in the crowd about halfway through their opening number, your bright smile and cute outfit making you stand out against everyone else in his eyes. Upon seeing you, he smiled as well, feeling his jealousy wither away into a feeling of fondness. You waved at him from the crowd, and it took everything in him not to let go of his guitar and wave back.
Finally, their set was about to close, and Jiseok felt the dark vines of his master plan creep back into his chest again. It was simple, but he hoped it would portray the message he needed it to. From his drumkit, Gunil counts the song in, and the band takes off with their cover. Jiseok watches as you dance along in the pit, and he can feel himself fighting an internal battle with his usual stage presence to keep it together. Jooyeon carried the song with a smile, clearly in his element while singing along. As the song progressed, Jiseok’s turn at the mic was coming up, and he knew it was all or nothing. He dropped his guitar completely, putting both hands on the mic and looking at you as the verse he quickly claimed dibs on a practice a few days ago made its way to the speakers.
“She’s got a rose tattoo, but she keeps it covered. I play guitar, but she’s into drummers.” At this, Jiseok watches as you smile wide, aiming your gaze towards the back of the stage, ignoring him almost completely. “She’s seen my face around, but she doesn’t even know my name.” At that, Jiseok picks up his guitar again, performing the rest of the song on autopilot as he realizes that his attempt to grab your attention and tell you how he feels was nothing short of futile. Soon enough, the performance ends, the show is over, and Jiseok floats home- his autopilot keeping him moving.

“That performance was great!!” You squeal as you pull Gunil into a tight embrace, holding him close and kissing his cheek once the seven of you made your way back to the dorm. Of course Gunil had to invite you over, and of course Jiseok had to sit and watch as you hung all over him. This was just what he needed. Jiseok fought to keep his breathing steady when someone yelling his name caught his attention.
“Jiseok!” Seungmin yelled.
“What?!” Jiseok yelled in response, sounding a little more angry than he should have.
“I asked if you wanted a drink. Jesus, I’ve only called your name, like, three times.” Seungmin rolled his eyes. Jiseok waved him off.
“No, I’m fine,” he answered shortly. Seungmin looked over him.
“What’s got you all worked up?”
Jiseok opened his mouth to answer and then quickly snapped his mouth closed again. He could hear you and Gunil laughing together from the other side of the room. He quickly glanced over at Jungsu, who was already giving him a stern look. “Nothing,” he finally answers. “Nothing is wrong.” Jiseok stood from his chair, looking to Jungsu again. “I’m going to bed.”
For a split second, Jungsu’s eyes turned sympathetic. “Good night, Jiseok.”
He nodded slightly, his voice soft. “Good night, Jungsu.”
