Birthday Surprises ; Jae Park
Tumblr media
Request?: Yes, “Can I request Day6's Jae trying to plan something big and special for his boyfriend's birthday but the boyfriend forgot his own birthday while preparing for Jae’s birthday which is the next day.” Pairing: Jae Park x male reader Word Count: 360
Y/N hadn't stopped moving for the whole day, it was his boyfriend’s birthday tomorrow but because of the work load he had been suffering with it had completely slipped his mind. Muttering colourful words under his breath he rushed into a closing bakery, "I'm Y/N. I'm here for the cake." He said with an urgent look on his face which startled the workers behind the counter. Usually Y/N looked clean and sensible to the public but right now as he's running down the street all red and sweaty, he just prays that a colleague doesn't see him.
Racing into the apartment complex Y/N took the stairs two at a time. He didn't want to risk a busy elevator which could crush the only thing his boyfriend wasn't allergic to and would actually enjoy. Y/N took a deep breath when he finally reached his door and fumbled for the keys, his heart had finally calmed down until it spiked again after being hit in the face.
"SURPRISE!!"
Y/N almost dropped the cake but someone else caught it in time, "you got yourself a birthday cake?" Y/N wiped his eyes and was surprised to find whipped cream, looking up from his hands he realised it was Jae who had caught the cake. "No, its yours for tomorrow?" Y/N said confusion written on his face as he wiped the rest of the whipped cream off, as he looked into his apartment, he could see the rest of Day6, and a few friends huddled by the door. "What's going on?" he asked as Jae placed a kiss on his cheek, a puff of air brushed Y/Ns cheek as Jae let out a soft chuckle, "Please don’t tell me you forgot your own birthday?" Y/N knitted his eyebrows together before looking at the calendar on his phone, returning his gaze with a sheepish grin all that Y/N could offer was an "oops?" Shaking his head and laughing Jae lead his boyfriend inside to share the presents and food they got for Y/Ns birthday, and tomorrow Jae would wake up in his boyfriends bed with a peck on the lips and a delicious breakfast in bed.

How To YouTube
park jaehyung x male!reader
word count - 0.6K
genre - FLUFF
contains - mutual crushing??
synopsis - Jae wants to learn how to YouTube, and being someone who's career was built on the platform, you're definitely the most trustworthy friend he can go to.
Tumblr media
"Guys guys guys, guess what!?" You exclaim, ultimately talking to your camera, facing the device to you and moving it the way you see fit, "Jae's going on a learning date with us!"
Jae lifted his head up from his phone, standing in the centre of your apartment, putting up a peace sign at you before he realised what you said, blinking once as he akawardly put his hand down, "It's a date?"
You have a YouTube channel called Y/NSays, the platform originally started out as a video diary; from talking about your day on camera to filming your day on camera, to eventually being paid to talk and film about your day on camera. Your subscribers count is within the million range, your view count being in that same range and your audience love how honest, down-to-earth and friendly you present yourself. You also do a good amount of collaborations; you've cooked, advocated for human rights, gotten your makeup done, reacted to trends, designed outfit and so much more with other YouTubers.
You have an inconsistent consistent style, and your fans love it.
"Mhm!" You chime, looking at Jae from the camera, walking back from the centre of your giant living room before stopping right next to Jae, "You said you wanted to learn how to YouTube, so..." You extend the end of your sentence, before carefully handing the camera to Jae, placing the stick to properly control the device into his hand, chuckling when you watched him frantically plop his phone in his pocket to do his task more efficiently.
"Y/Nnn," he chuckled nervously, lifting up his other hand to get a better angle of the position of the camera, "You said you'd teach me, not make me do all the work."
"I am teaching you! I'll even show you how to edit, you just need to be interesting enough to give me content!" You laugh, placing your chin on his shoulder, looking into the camera as you grinned brightly, starting at the man in amusement from the small rectangle attached to the device that was showing everything, including your delighted expression and Jae's one becoming increasingly excited yet nervous, "And we're only doing a Q&A, you'll live to film another day."
"We do this kinda stuff with the guys but the whole process is kinda different, how do you just do this for a living?" Jae laughed, genuinely asking the question as he lifted up his spare hand to gently get a feel where your head was, stopping when he felt your hair and decided to pat it jokingly.
You also snickered at his behaviour, looking at him best you can just from the resting position on his shoulder, "I seek constant validation for my hard work from strangers, isn't that what you do?" You kid, even though it's partly true. You brainstorm, you come up with a plan, a script if necessary; you like the occasional freestyling of content, though; you film, edit, film again sometime, edit again, cry because you can't edit, then edit again then post and promote then wait; the flooding of love and support from peers and strangers and regulars who view your pieces. It's always nice being appreciated for all your work, making a few people laugh, making others others happy, there's the few disappointing folk but it's nothing you can't handle. "But it's mainly for the creative part, you know? You got an idea, go out and make it."
"Yeah," Jae smiles, staring back at you from the camera with an impressed and thoughtful grin, "I know what you mean."
The moment lasted for a little longer, just a comfortable silence in a rather large living room with an empty coffee table and two ringlights not too far away from it, the two of you standıng in the scene just for another second or two; not even too sure why, maybe it was just out of appreciation? Just a second to breathe? Neither of you were really sure.
But you snap out of your daydreams eventually, leaning off of Jae's shoulder to chuckle nervously and pat his back out of not knowing what else to do, "C'mon! Er, I ordered Thai food and a bunch of Boba, might as well keep ourselves fed while we film, yeah?"
"Totally," Jae turns around to face you, aiming the camera at you while adjusting the lense, taking a moment to adjust to the device, "Yeah, let's start filming."

Mary!!! 👉👈 can I request a prompt number 7 for Day6 Jae? 😚
Prompt: “Let’s go to the park.”
Word Count: 1208 words
Pairing: Park Jaehyung x Male!Reader
Group: Day6
Genre: Fluff
A/N: If anyone can recognise the movie that I mention in the story I will be super impressed and will love you forever. Hope you like this Rei, sorry I took so long to post.💖
Tumblr media
Jae wasn’t much of an outdoors person if he was honest. He appreciated going out every once in a while and loved having his windows open to let in fresh air but going for walks or picnics and the such wasn’t really something he would want to do during his free time.
He was a weak man though, it really only took y/n giving him one pouty look for him to agree to whatever the younger wanted from him that day.
“Let’s go to the park.” a head-shake, he wasn’t going to abandon this game now, not when he had already made so much progress.
“Hyung pleaseeee” y/n was shaking his leg, Jae looked up from his phone.
There was the pouty face, great now Jae was sighing and agreeing, he had to have more self control. y/n grins at him and pulls him so he is standing up, maybe Jae does it because he loves seeing y/n’s smile.
He should find other ways to invoke that smile on the youngers face that don’t involve him agreeing to the youngers every wish and command.
So here they are walking through a quiet street, y/n is chattering about something skipping along and Jae is content listening and smiling. They stop in front of a small store.
“Hyung wait here for a second, I need to grab something I’ll be fast.” Jae nods, he looks around, he’s never been to the park near their apartment, so he’s never seen this area of the neighborhood but it is pretty. Very quaint he thinks.
y/n seems pretty familiar with the area. Before Jae can really begin wondering if this trip has an ulterior motive y/n is by his side lacing their hands together and pulling him along.
y/n goes back to talking about the thing he was talking about earlier, Jae thinks it might be a book, or some old 90′s movie, a fake war to cover up the presidents sex scandal something about Albania. Jae thinks it is interesting, if he remembers he’ll ask the younger later, but right now he can’t focus on trivial stuff, the younger walking like that, smiling like that, the old-ish buildings around them. Jae feels like they are in a movie themselves. He gets that feeling often when he is with y/n.
They make it to the park sooner than Jae expects. They don’t stroll around like Jae had thought they would because y/n is pulling him in a very specific direction with a very determined look in his eyes. Jae knew there was a reason other then fresh air and exercise why he had been brought here.
They come to a stop in front of a row of high bushes and trees all close together.
Jae is confused, “What?” y/n just smiles at him and pulls him through a small opening between two bushes and a tree.
Jae thinks that the happy, R&B soundtrack of their movie has taken a dark turn and he is about to find out his boyfriend is a psychopath or something. Though he finds it hard to imagine his sweater paw loving boyfriend as a psychopath, but it is always the normal looking ones who turn out strange isn’t it?
When they make it past the bushes they are in a small open space surrounded, by trees. Jae really likes this place, but if he gets murdered here he is going to like it a lot less.
y/n let’s go of his hand and sits down near a bush opposite  the ones they just passed through. He pulls something out of the bag he bought at the convenience store.
Cat food.
Now Jae is really confused. He goes to sit by y/n and observe what will happen next.
Jae sees now, a small head peeking out from under the bush, then a second and a third join. The small animals all carefully crawl out from under the bush but don’t come closer. Then a bigger head pops out, this animal doesn’t hesitate in padding over to y/n.
The cat sits down in front of y/n and puts her paw on his knee and Jae seriously thinks he is about to die because holy shit, his boyfriend is the best human being alive and no one can convince him otherwise.
Seeing their mother get closer to the two boys the kittens all carefully approach, pushing each other and tripping over their short legs. Jae laughs, this is the best trip to any park he’s ever had hands down.
y/n takes his hand and pours some cat food into his palm, “Be careful when you feed it to them, they get scared really easily.”
Jae nods and carefully lowers his palm so that the kittens can reach the food easily. They all stop, the bravest one, tiny and orange, approaches and begins eating the food looking up every few seconds as if to check that Jae isn’t going to do anything, the other too follow soon after and now they’re all eating out of his palm.
His cheeks hurt, he looks at y/n and the boy is grinning back at him the mother cat settled into his lap both of them observing Jae and the kittens.
Jae decides then and there that he is going to keep the man sitting in front of him in his life forever.
They sit there for what feels like hours, when the kittens have eaten enough they begin running around, tackling each other, climbing onto y/n’s legs or biting at Jae’s fingers.
Jae looks over at y/n who seems to be having a conversation with the mother cat who is paying close attention to him and occasionally pawing at his face.
Jae can’t help himself, he tangles his fingers into the hair at the nape of y/n’s neck and when the younger looks up he pulls him into a kiss. They only pull apart when the mother cat paws at Jae’s face a little aggressively.
y/n laughs happily at that, Jae isn’t that impressed and glares at the cat, he’s pretty sure she’s glaring back at him.
After an hour they kiss the cats goodbye and get up to go home. Only 5 minutes into their walk home do they notice the small cat family following them.
They stop and look at the cats that are looking back that them, Jae turns to look at y/n. Bad idea. y/n is giving him the pouty look. Jae sighs.
“We’re getting them checked out at the vets tomorrow.” y/n grins and quickly goes to pick up the mother cat.
Jae goes to pick up the three small kittens, he lets them sit in the pocket of his denim jacket, their small heads peeking out and places his hand under them as they walk the rest of the way home.
Jae decides it is fine, he’ll share his boyfriend with the possessive mother cat if only to keep that smile on the others face.
“Hyung you’re the best.”
“You always say that when I let you do something you want.”
y/n laughs, Jae watches him, the way his face seems to light up.
Yeah he decides, he’ll keep giving into the pout, he loves to see his boyfriend like this.

day6 x male!reader
genre: fluff, angst
fluff prompt: “it’s late, shouldn’t you be asleep?”
angst prompt: “i don’t deserve to be loved.”
all the boys were on tour and whenever they could they facetimed you to tell you all about their day in new places. they always took pictures and sent them to you. you were amazed by them and how much energy they have, despite how much they work.
today was the day that you guys could finally call and talk since they were too busy these past few days.
“hi y/n!” they yell in the microphone, you chuckle at them. “how are you all today?” you asked and jae was first and spoke for the whole group.
the time went by really quickly and then you know it’s past two in the morning.
“it’s late, shouldn’t you be asleep?” young k asks, kind of worried for you. then all of them noticed the bags under your eyes. they weren’t that visible, but if you’d stare at them for a couple of seconds you could see them very well.
“it looks like you haven’t been sleeping,” you looked down, unable to keep eye contact with the boys.
“well, i just haven’t been feeling the best lately,” they all frown and you try your best not to cry.
“sweetheart, what’s been going on? i hope you haven’t been overworking yourself all night.” sungjin asked and you shook your head. “it’s not that. it’s just…” you sighed deeply, “i can’t sleep, because i keep having these thoughts.” you stopped yourself from saying what really has been going on behind all the fake smiles and lies you told them. “go on, if you’d like. we’re not pressuring you. if you’re not comfortable with talking about it, it’s okay,” dowoon replies and a tear fell from your eye.
“i don’t deserve you guys, i don’t deserve to be loved.” you hide your face with your hands, not wanting them to see you.
“babe, that’s not true. we love you to bits. we could never leave you. you deserve this, you’re incredible and help us go through difficult times,” jae spoke up and you still stayed in the same position. “seriously love, you mean the world to us and i’m sorry we can't be beside you right now, but can you wait a couple of more days?” you take your hands off your face and nod, “now please get some rest. you need it.” wonpil said. you all said a goodnight night and i love yous then hung up, finally going to sleep peacefully.

le jazz hot, baby
Tumblr media
jae park x male reader
request: from @xavimoonlight :: Jae finds out his boyfriend is singing in a jazz band. He and the rest of Day6 go to a restaurant where the boyfriend is performing.
"this one.. this one goes to you."
you tilted your hat down, covering your (e/c) eyes and hoping that the shadow would take care of the rest of your face. you grabbed the old fashioned mic in front of you, (s/c) fingers tapping the stand arrogantly.
you nodded towards the rest of the band, letting them know you were ready whenever they were.
as soon as they started playing the girl from ipanema, you swayed to the music, your black button up shirt swaying with you.
you eyed one of tables near you, suspicious of the familiar fluffy blonde hair that your boyfriend sported. your eyes widened a little when you realized it was him with the rest of his band.
"tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from ipanema goes walking"
jae's head snapped towards where you were standing. his eyebrows raising, curious to see who this person was. your lip twitched a little as you suppressed a smirk.
"and when she passes, each one she passes goes aaaaah~"
you see the rest of the members follow jae's gaze towards you. they are equally confused because they swear they can recognize the clothes and your (h/c) hair. but, it couldn't be. how could you hide this from them?
"when she walks shes like a samba, that swings so cool and sways so gentle"
you move the mic stand slightly to the right, leaning in with it, intentionally messing with jae (who couldn't take his eyes off of you). you puckered your lips a little, having fun with this little act.
you tried hard to hear the hushed whispers coming from the table.
"it's him, jae!"
"how come you didn't know?"
"isn't he your boyfriend?"
"shut up!"
"that when she passes each one she passes goes ooooooooooooooooooo~"
Tumblr media
"you never told me you were in a band. let alone sing like that!"
"you never asked, babe." jae swallowed thickly, eyeing you up and down. he sighed, taking your warm hand.
"do you just perform is this particular restaurant?" you shook your head and proceeded to tell him about the different places you and your band had been booked at. "i'll be at every single one... if you want me to."

Tumblr media
Wonpil:
He would be a bit more affectionate, but not really, he would act the way with his members but he would grab your hand and hold it while he or anyone talked. Towards the end, he would give you finger hearts.
"I'll give you all my love now! M/n!" He said winking "ah! So adorable!" You squealed while the rest of the members laughed at the both of you.
Tumblr media
YoungK:
He would be very affectionate towards you in front of the camera, he wouldn't mind since he's in love with you and doesn't care if everybody sees that.
"I love you M/n~" he threw finger hearts at you while smiling, you also smiled but also laughed "I love you so much!" You said while picking him up, he still continued he send hearts towards you.
Tumblr media
Sungjin:
He would act the way he always does(probably) you're the one that wants to be more affectionate but he would always stop you and you wouldn't try again.
"M/n stop not right now" he chucked as you pouted but nodded anyways "Fine~ But wait until we go to the house" he chuckled again but nodded.
Tumblr media
Dowoon:
He would be doing a vlive with Wonpil and you would be doing random dances or just anything random and that would cause him to get distracted, but Wonpil made sure he didn't.
"So yeah, I hope you guys...like..the uh show" "Don't Sorry they will" "Uh yeh, of course, they would!" "M/n stop! You're distracting him, he's too busy right now" "Meanie!!" You ran away like a weird titan would (Attack On Titans anyone?) causing everyone to laugh.

Jae x Reader
Fluff omg
Summary: Just some domestic fluff between Jae and his significant other.
Also this is for @dimpledsatan bc she put me in soft Jae hours.
Tumblr media
It was the first time Jae was actually home and didn’t need to leave at all. He finally had a free day after their tour and shows. So when you woke to him still in bed, not even under the covers since he fell asleep as soon as he came home, you smiled a little. Jae was a pretty light sleeper, but he didn’t even move when you got out of bed. You made a small breakfast, knowing that when he woke up he’d be starving and then you’d actually make breakfast.
When Jae first stirred, he realized that you weren’t in bed. He leaned over and saw that it was close to lunch time. He laid in bed for a few minutes, scrolling through his phone, before he decided that he wanted to see you. He was in a particularly loving mood, not that he wasn’t usually, but he missed you a lot. So when he came into the living room, he saw you on the couch, propped up with a book in your hand. You looked up when you heard him shuffle in.
“Good morning sleeping beauty.” You winked as you sat your book down. Jae grunted in response and shuffled over to you. He laid on you, head in your neck, and he sighed.
“I missed you.” He said quietly and you smiled so lovingly.
“I missed you too.” You said as you pulled him closer to you. “I can make us some lunch or we can order takeout.”
“Takeout.” He grunted. It seemed like he was still tired.
“Then I’ll order from that place down the street you like so much, we can put on a movie, and you can nap.” You suggested as you ran your fingers through his hair.
When you finally sat down with your respective food, Jae began to pick a movie. Once the movie was halfway done, you’d found yourself laid on Jae’s chest. You really had missed him. He had facetimed you and texted you as much as he could, but it wasn’t the same as being next to him. He began to run his fingers through your hair, scratching lightly at your scalp. You sighed and snuggled into him more, his warmth and scratches slowly lulling you to sleep.
“I know I’m not usually very clingy, but I’m glad you’re here today. I really missed you while we were on tour.” He said quietly, kissing your forehead. “Sometimes I sit and think that you’ll be gone one day when I get back and I can’t get you back. So every time you’d ask to facetime it’d make me smile so much and I can’t believe how in love with you I am.” He got more comfortable with you in his arms. “So when we get up from our nap, we’re gonna go on a date.”
You smiled a little and kissed his shoulder. “I love you too dork. We can go to that really good noodle place where we usually eat lunch when you’re at the studio.”
“Sounds good babe.”

Day6 in the bedroom with a male s/o
Ask:  Request: how do you think day6 would fuck a male s/o? Who would be rough, who would be gentle, who would top, who would bottom? Thank you in advance! ~signed, a thirsty fanboy
Sungjin:
Tumblr media
Sungjin is a total dom with his male s/o. Being a leader and all, he’s good at taking charge with a stern yet gentle hand. He wouldn’t be totally rough dom and top, but he definitely can be rough when the moment calls for it. He never ever really bottom’s unless his bf really sweetens him up.
Jae:
Tumblr media
(this gif kills me)
Okay so to get this started, Jae is a total switch. He’ll be top or bottom, dom or sub. That’s the beauty of Jae, he is very versatile. Jae isn’t really into rough at all either. He likes the type of sex that is funny and soft. That’s why the positions don’t matter much to him either. He isn’t afraid to go into subby bottom mode, but he can also be a bratty bottom. Very versatile.
Young K/Younghyun/Brian:
Tumblr media
Dom. No need to say anything more. He can be a dom but that doesn’t necessarily mean he always needs to top. He’s a switch when it comes to being a top or a bottom. He does like rough sex but the boy has a tender side as well. But for the love of god pull his hair to get the best sounds.
Wonpil:
Tumblr media
A sub and a bottom which I don’t think is a surprise. Wonpil likes being taken care of and being pampered. He’s such a spoiled little sub. But he does like being a power bottom. He’s also not to fond over very rough sex but he needs to be put in his place sometimes so his bf needs to not be afraid to manhandle him a little because secretly, Wonpil likes it.
Dowoon:
Tumblr media
Another sub and bottom but definitely more soft. Dowoon is a babyboy all the way and just wants to be loved and taken care of. Definitely more of a fan of soft sweet sex. He’s very loving and really sees sex as a way to show that so he never really wants it rough. Dowoon also really isn’t the type to top, he prefers being bottom but if his bf wants it he’d gladly top.

Crush? ; Jae Park
Tumblr media
Requested?: Yes, “My request is Jae wants to confess his feels to the the reader only to accidentally think the readers is into Young K but really he's helping the reader to confess his feeling to Jae.” Pairing: Jae Park x male reader Word Count: 638
"Briannnn!" Y/N whined.
"Y/NNNN" Brain whined back not even looking up from his phone. Y/N huffed launching himself onto Brains bed and burying his face in his friends’ pillows. "He doesn't like me." Brian groaned and rolled his eyes, "for the last time, you haven't even asked him out so how could you possibly know he doesn't like you?" Y/N rolled into his side to face Brian with a pout he let out a sigh, Brian once again rolled his eyes. “Okay listen, why don't you pretend I'm Jae and just say whatever your heart wants. and don't give me that look.” he said while shoving Y/Ns shoulder and sitting up, “Okay...”
"Dear Jae…"
"What is this a love letter?"
"ALRIGHT. Anyway, so…Jae…"
"Don’t make this weird man-"
"Shut up, you're the one that suggested it!"
"Come on just talk!"
"OKAY! I LIKE YOU!"
"…maybe tone down the dramatics"
"I can't stand you" Y/N groaned, resuming his position of burying his face in the soft pillows. "Listen, it wasn’t that bad"
"Stop talking."
Before the pair could do anything more there was a knock at the door. "Come in!" Brian yelled right by Y/Ns ear causing him to hit Brian's chest. "If I'm not interrupting Sungjin wants us all in the living room. That includes you Y/N." the two shared a confused look before following Dowoon. As everyone sat in the living room conversation started to flow, Y/N however was still confused has to why he had to be present until Sungjins gaze fell upon him. "I just want you all to know you're all accepted here no matter what. And because of this I want to congratulate Brian and Y/N, we hope you're happy together." Both Brian and Y/N sat there in stunned silence before Brian began screaming with laughter causing the other members to share looks. "me- me and HIM?!" Brian wheezed out. "Who on earth got that idea?" he said once he could breathe again. Y/N still sat there in shock and feeling a little sick at the idea of dating Brian.
"Don’t play around, I heard Y/N confess his love to you." Jae spat from next to Y/N, still in shock he turned his head towards Jae. "That wasn't a confession to him." Y/N said slowly finally coming back to his senses. Jae looked shocked before asking "Who was if for then?" Y/N swallowed thickly and dropped eye contact, becoming interested with his socks. On the other side of him he heard Brian swear under his breath. "If you won’t tell him I will." Y/Ns head shot up, "Don’t you dare!" He said through gritted teeth, but his friend was already opening his mouth to spill Y/Ns biggest secret. "I LIKE YOU JAE" Y/N shouted in a panic, even startling Brain who was even more shocked his friend actually did it.
Y/N refused to open his eyes as the panic died down and the embarrassment set in. From beside him Jae unfroze and smiled before cautiously wrapping an arm around the smaller mans shoulders. "You're telling me I almost cried in my room thinking I completely missed my chance with my crush because you used Brian to try to confess?"
"It was Brian's idea" Y/N mumbled before lifting his head to meet Jaes gaze. "Crush?" Y/N asked his voice going and octave higher causing Jae to laugh and rest his forehead against the others, "Crush" he nodded. By the time both of them re-joined reality the rest of the boys had disappear leaving them two alone. "So," Jae started, "I guess now is a perfect time to ask you out for dinner?" Y/N smiled brightly standing up and pulling Jae to his feet and out the door. Brian softly smiled to himself as he watched the pair walk down the street hand in hand.

2.2 // The day hasn't even started and Y/N is at it again beginning the day with too much food and breaking Day6 mentally and physically as they empty their wallets to feed their friend and keep him happy for the day.
Our boy just wants some good eats and a lot of them at that. FEED HIM! FEED HIM! FEED HIM! Honestly, when he eats he's the happiest so why not let him indulge for a little longer. Is that a piece of fruit I see. Oh god, its a miracle. Someone call the president!

hi! idk if you’re still open for requests but if you are, can I request for a bestfriend mingyu who has a crush on the reader and gets jealous when the reader met the tall guitarist (jae from day6) at school and got close to her so mingyu ends up confessing his feelings for the reader? thank you so much! 🥰
Perfect Man
Word count: 850
Pairing: mingyu x fem!reader
Genre: little bit of angst if you squint, mostly fluff, mingyu being a tiny bit jealous, jae being handsome and a WINGMAN 😍, highschool au!
Tumblr media
Mingyu was in love. Anyone could’ve seen this coming. Mingyu himself hoped that this would never happen. But luck got the best of him, for he was for sure deeply in love with his longtime best friend.
He couldn’t help it, who wouldn’t fall for your charms? You were always so bright and cute. You cared for him like no other person could. He tried to hold it in, he thought this was all a misunderstanding in his feelings and it would all go away soon. But those harbored feelings only grew more and more with each passing day.
He was sitting alone in the library, twirling his pencil in his hand. To anyone else it would’ve looked like he was concentrating on his work. But he was thinking about you and how we was going to finally confess his deep feelings for you. He let out a sigh and looked around the library. He noticed as you entered the library doors, but as soon as you turned to look forward, you were bumped by another figure.
Mingyu stood up from his seat in an attempt to help you up, but due to the distance, the other male beat him to it. At first you seemed very apologetic, like it was your fault for entering the library. But then you looked so happy just being near the other male. ‘What could they be talking about?’ He thought to himself.
You were lost. Not physically at least but definitely emotionally. Over the past month, you had been made very aware of how differently you had been viewing Mingyu, romantically that is. You bit your lip as you thought some more. ‘Would it be possible Mingyu felt the same?’
Just as you were entering the library, someone had bumped into you on accident, causing you to drop a couple of things you had been carrying in your arms.
“Oh my god” you blurt out, “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay. It wasn’t your fault. I wasn’t watching where I was going.” The male suddenly spoke, his voice shocking you to focus on him. You had seen him in some of your classes before, but he was the reserved and quiet type so you hadn’t paid much attention to him until now. His usually dull and tired expression was now bright and lively. He also carried a glossy new guitar slung behind him along with his backpack.
As you admire his features, he places as hand on your head, lightly messing your hair. “See you around.” He says quickly as he exits the library.
Mingyu was upset. Not with you of course. Never with you. But with himself, for not stepping in and what most would call ‘asserting his dominance’. He continued to look at you, now fully standing from his seat and tried to get your attention by waving. You finally got out of your daze and smiled brightly at him, causing his heart to race.
As you walked over, Mingyu’s heart began to beat faster and faster until you were right in front of him.
“Hi gyu,” you smiled once more as you took a seat “did you start the statistics packet yet?” Mingyu let out a sigh he didn’t know he was holding and shook his head. You gingerly placed your hand on top of his once he sat down, patting it. Mingyu flared up at the sudden contact, now feeling more intense than before. You noticed and retracted your hand.
“Oh my gosh you won’t believe what happened to me when I entered the library.” You suddenly gasped and Mingyu was once again brought back to this horrendous moment. “Oh yeah? What happened?” He asked as if he didn’t already know the answer.
You placed your face in your hands and swayed a bit, feeling a bit flustered. “I was walking in right, and this kid bumps into me and knocks my stuff down. But I didn’t want to get yelled at so I was apologizing and stuff but it turned out the kid to bumped into me was Jae-freaking-hyung.” You squealed as silently as you could. Mingyu sighed once more and you cocked your head.
“What’s the matter? Is my story time not that great?” Mingyu got up from his seat and raised you with him.
“Ow, what are you doing—”
“Do you like him or something? Am I not good enough for you? Look I really like you and I thought that you liked me too but if that’s not the case then I’ll—“ Mingyu’s protest was soon silenced as you embraced him in a tight hug. He stood there confused but after a while wrapped his arms around your body. He felt so calm and relieved. You looked him in his eyes and giggled. “Mingyu,” you started “I really like you too.” He let out a breathy laugh and let go, suddenly packing his stuff. “Let’s get out of here and I’ll take you out after school, let’s celebrate.”
‘Thanks Jae’ you think to yourself as you left the library hand in hand with a giggly Mingyu.

a/n - sorry to the anon ahhh this took way too long to write but when I first got the scenario I was so in love with it so thank you for sending it 💞

A Rearrangement (Preview)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jae x Female Reader, ft. DAY6, Kard, and Mina Genre: Arranged Marriage AU, Angst, Romance  Summary: Blackmailed by your parents, you’re forced to alter your life plan and enter an arranged marriage with the male heir of the Park family. The even bigger surprise comes when you find out that heir is your friend Jae. Thrust together, as the two of you become closer than before, will it strengthen your friendship or be the unexpected start of something else?
You always imagined the path to doom would be violent, dark, and storm-filled. Who knew it would actually be paved in gold-veined marble and lined in bouquets of hydrangeas and lily of the valley bound in silk ribbons in slender silver vases. But then, only the finest auction block would do.
The temptation to fidget grows as you wait with your parents in the quietly decadent lobby. Your feet beg to be free of the pointed heels, too accustomed to sensible flats. The chiffon dress is light and beautiful, you won’t deny that, but it feels like a lie. Dresses like this are for special occasions, not a dinner. Even getting dinner during a normal hour seems odd given you’re usually too busy dealing with a revolving door of patients. Patients who you could be helping with now but—
It is only years of training keeps you from crying out when your mother delivers a sharp pinch to your underarm.
“Smile. You look like you’re attending a funeral,” she hisses beneath her breath, a gracious curve pasted on her own mouth.
“Aren’t I?” you whisper back. Your impudence is rewarded with another pinch, but every bit of defiance is worth it. If nothing else comes of this, you remind yourself, soon she won’t be able to touch you or anyone and anything you hold dear.
“It appears the other party is already here,” the tuxedo-clad concierge tells your father. “Shall I lead you to the room?”
With all the dignity befitting an assemblyman, your father nods and lifts his arm, looking back at the two of you. Another part of your heart breaks away at that look. The warmth that lay in your father’s eyes when you were a child is no more than a memory. Cool calculations necessary of a career politician extinguished it long ago. Instead of his only child, all he sees is another bargaining chip. Until yesterday, you were able to lie to yourself that an ember of affection still survived. But no more. That delusion is dead, forever buried alongside the many other dreams slaughtered by your parents.
“Remember what is at stake for your father,” your mother whispers as she releases your arm to reach for your father’s. “Remember what is at stake for you.”
As if you could forget. Otherwise, you would be hundreds of thousands of miles away. You would be penniless but for the paltry savings you squirreled away, friendless but for the few who didn’t know your family, homeless but for your own skin. And it would be worth it to be completely out of reach of their conniving hands. Free, totally and completely, for the first time in your life. But she was right. What was at risk was far greater than you.
You fall in behind your parents, precisely three steps as you’d been drilled since your father first ran for public office. Shoulders back and spine straight, chin up and eyes forward. None of the growing trepidation or swirling sick feeling in your stomach betrayed in your countenance. A true lady just as they wanted. If they could have, they would have broken and reconstructed your soul in their image as well. But you had at least held out on that.
The concierge reaches a plain, eggshell-colored door flanked by two more bouquets. He knocks, then opens the door for your parents. You stick out your fingers to subtly touch the flowers as you pass through the door. The fragile silk softer than the real fabric proves they’re real. As real as the people within are fake, your parents included.
An older couple are the only obvious occupants, rising from their seats at a rectangular table set with exquisite crystal and silver that twinkles in the light streaming from the bay windows. Distinguished gray touches the man’s hair while the woman’s is jet black, doubtlessly dyed to hide the age that lies in the makeup-covered wrinkles around her eyes and mouth. Both are simply but finely dressed. Yet together, you know their wardrobe costs enough to send a student to a decent university for a year. At least.
The stink of old wealth, enhanced by the surroundings, is as heavy on them as your mother’s perfume. You hate it.
The man rises, smile broad and hand outstretched. “Assemblyman! Welcome!”
“Good to see you again, Mr. Park,” your father replies, shaking his hand and flashing that million-watt smile he practices in the mirror for the press and donors. “Especially on such a joyous occasion.”
“Yes, indeed. So this is your daughter.” Mr. Park’s gaze falls to you.
You steel your back against the shiver of disgust you feel as his eyes openly sweep you up and down. His wife follows suite from behind him. You can’t help the feeling that they would have pried your mouth open like a prize horse if you weren’t in a more civilized age. The irony of that thought amid your situation almost distracts you enough to give a real smile.
“Not as beautiful as her picture, but her career and your prestige will make up for that. She will be a welcome addition to our family,” Mr. Park says approvingly.
Bile rises unbidden from the bottom of your stomach with revulsion. Who the hell is he to judge you, let alone speak such an opinion out loud. You inwardly scoff. Just proof money cannot buy manners or decency.
“Where is your son?” your mother asks, looking around.
Mr. Park’s smile tightens a fraction. “He was temporarily detained at an appointment, but he’ll be here shortly. No need to worry. He’ll be here to sign the marriage contract.”
Marriage contract. Those words are enough to make the embarrassment at Mr. Park’s callous comments evaporate, replaced by the unforgiving chill of reality.
Today, you’re getting engaged to a stranger. To say the idea doesn’t terrify you would be the most vile lie. The idea of being “tied forever” to someone you’ve never met, never even seen, makes you sick. It makes you want to shrink, crawl away, and mourn. It makes you want to roar, storm, and seize your autonomy back. But all you can do is stand and wait, your face the vaguely interested mask you have perfected to a fault.
Mr. Park steps back and gestures to the table. “Shall we?”
Men in trim tuxedos silently appear to pull out your chairs. Mr. Park and your father take seats opposite each other, then Mrs. Park and your mother. You sit across from the empty chair. The chair where your soon-to-be fiance will soon sit.
Beside you, the older adults talk among themselves. Whether they speak of social niceties, specifics of the pre-nuptial contract, or plans for the wedding, you don’t know. Their words are noise in your ears and they make no effort to include you in the conversation. It doesn’t surprise you. You’re accustomed to it and you’re glad of it. They don’t deserve the civility you would be expected to produce. Not to mention your temper is shortened by the lack of sleep caused by an anxious patient’s hours-long call last night.
There’s a knock at the door and your heart stops. It’s him.
Demon or angel. Brat or saint. Executioner or savior. Bane or mate.
There’s no way to know and no way out. If someone in this day and age would agree to such a bond, he’s either an idiot, a pushover, or a victim like you.
You steel yourself for disappointment or pity, determined to keep any emotion to yourself. These parasites won’t get anything else from you.
The door opens and a slightly rumpled, lanky man ambles in. His long black overcoat covers a slate-gray suit jacket with matching pants and dark burgundy turtleneck. His blond hair is ruffled, streaked with bold swathes of highlights, and longer than you would expect of a wealthy scion. His messy bangs brushing the lenses of his round, gold-rimmed glasses.
Your mouth drops open. How…
“Sorry I’m late,” he says without a smile or sincerity. “I was—”
When his eyes fall to you, his mouth mirrors yours. You quickly snap your jaw back together and give the smallest shake of your head.
Don’t let them know.
His mother gives a polite cough to try to call him back. When he continues staring, his father speaks for him. “This is our son, Jaehyung.”
So that’s Jae’s real name.
Your father immediately gets up and holds out his hand. “Pleasure to meet you, son.”
“I remember your hair being black this morning,” Mr. Park says, addressing his son as he greets your father. “Was there a mistake at the salon?”
Recovering from his surprise, Jae’s mouth twitches like it wants to smirk at the clear disapproval in his father’s voice. He smooths his hair, takes his seat and answers simply. “No.”
His parents’ mouths thin, but the first course being served saves Jae from further reprimand. The conversation picks up where it left off, articulated by the clink of silverware.
Again, you’re not invited to participate, but neither is Jae. You push the salad around with your fork, flipping the leaves as your mind attempts comprehension. Admiration for Jae’s blatant rebellion only briefly interrupts the bewilderment swirling around your head.
Jae, your friend since he almost killed you with his skateboarding antics in university and who constantly crashes on your couch to whine about being broke. This same man who usually dresses in some version of a T-shirt, jeans, and or plaid shirt combo and seems to have a guitar permanently attached to his hands. Reconciling him with the put-together heir in front of you, your almost fiance, is proving difficult.
Though now, certain gaps in your knowledge of Jae make a bit more sense. Despite claiming to be perpetually broke, he never fails to pick up the latest shoes he’s been drooling over or new production equipment when his band, Day6, needs it. He never mentions his family. During university, he always found a friend to go home with on breaks.
Just like you.
Maybe that’s why you felt drawn to him, became and stayed friends. A silent and unconscious recognition of similar ghosts haunting your shadows.
Your phone quietly vibrates against your thigh. You ignore it.
Something nudges your foot. Lifting your eyes from your plate, you find Jae staring at you. He glances down towards your lap, frowning and jerking his chin when you don’t move.
With a peek at your mother to ensure she’s not paying attention, you slip your phone from the pocket hidden in your dress.
Meet me by the bathrooms.- Jae
You immediately stand, smiling as the Parks and your parents finally turn their attention to you. Lifting your phone, you say, “Please excuse me. The doctor on-call has a question about one of my patients. I have to call him back.” Disregarding your mother’s annoyed expression, you turn on your heel and walk out of the room.
After asking for directions, you find the bathrooms and wait in the alcove beside them. You don’t have long to wait before you hear Jae calling your name.
He jumps when you poke your head around the corner, but rushes over, grabbing your elbow to bring you back out of sight. “What the hell are you doing here?” he asks, his voice a hoarse whisper and his eyebrows nearly forced together with a frown.
“You asked me to meet you here.”
“Not here, smartass,” Jae says, rolling his eyes. “I mean here here.”
“I could be asking you the same question, Jaehyung.” You pointedly look down at where he’s still holding you.
“Sorry.” Jae releases you, his hand immediately going to run through his hair. His mussing leaves it standing at odd angles so he looks more like the Jae you’re familiar with. You recognize the same struggle to reconcile your newly discovered realities on his face as well. “It's just... you’re the assemblyman’s daughter? You?”
“Sorry to disappoint,” you reply, not sparing the sarcasm. You sit on the bench and fold your arms, scrutinizing the friend you thought you knew. “But I guess we’re even.”
“What do you mean? You never your said your dad was an assemblyman.”
“And not once in all the years we’ve known each other, not once in all the times we fell asleep talking did you mention you were a friggin' heir, Jae. Never mind an heir of the Park family. You were probably born with twenty silver spoons in your mouth.”
Jae sighs and joins you, closing his eyes and leaning his head back against the wall. “I didn’t say anything because I never wanted it. Who wants to own up to a family that only wants you to become their version of you, you know?”
“Preaching to the choir here.”
He opens his eyes with a frown and turns his head to you. “I never pegged you as a “yes, daddy” kind of girl. A goody-two-shoes with an overdeveloped savior complex, yeah. Definitely. But this? You really going along with this?”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence,” you retort with a roll of your eyes. “I thought we were friends.”
“We are, which is why I’m really freaking confused right now. You’re a doctor, dude. A modern woman. You’re always going on about women’s rights. Totally support by the way, but—”
“You really think I agreed to this for shits and giggles?” you cry, anger bubbling over. Everything you’ve held back since this morning boils out. “You think I like your father making me feel like a piece of meat and telling me to my face I’m ‘not as beautiful’ as my picture? Oh, wait, that would require him to address me directly like I had my own mind. Yeah, Jae, I just woke up yesterday and said to myself ‘Hey, let’s toss my entire personality, morals, and career aside and agree to get married to some rich guy so my dad can profit from the family-man image and new connections boost this election!’ That’s exactly what happened. No reason other than that.”
Jae is uncharacteristically silent after your outburst, studying you. You can’t really blame him. In the entire length of your friendship, you’ve only seriously raised your voice at him maybe once. He’s mentioned more than once that that fact is one your more attractive attributes.
Letting out a sigh of your own, you lean against the wall as well. You shouldn’t have yelled at him. He doesn’t deserve to be the recipient of your pent up frustrations. Picking at the skirt of your dress, you say, “You know my friend, Mina?”
“Yeah,” Jae replies with a shrug. “The dancer who’s at that super fancy dance school for ballet or something, right?”
“She’s there on a scholarship. A scholarship my mother is on the board for. My parents didn’t even bother being subtle about it. As soon as I told them they were crazy for suggesting this, they threatened to take the scholarship from Mina or even get her kicked out of the school. She can’t afford the tuition on their own. Jae, she loves that place and dancing so much and with that kind of training, she has a shot at so many opportunities. I couldn’t let them do that to her. It would kill her.”
His face becomes somber. “Ow…”
You give a half smile and a shrug. “Figured I could suffer through a few years of this marriage ‘til she finished, then find a way to get divorced.”
Jae reaches over and squeezes your hand. “You’re a really good friend.”
“Thanks.” You return the pressure and keep your hand in his. The reminder of humanity soothes some of the anger and hurt that sits like a boulder in your chest.
“Though I guess I am too,” he says. When you just look at him, waiting for an explanation, he lets out a bark of laughter. “And you yelled at me for being a bad friend, ya hypocrite. You think that I, Jae, the Jae, would say yes to this kind of backwards shit?”
“No.” Adopting an awful Manhattan accent, you ask, “So what’re you in here for?”
Your attempt gets a small laugh out of Jae, just as you’d hoped. The smile that accompanied it disappears as he says, “My parents found out about Day6… Before, as long as I kept my head down and didn’t do anything ‘embarrassing,’ they didn’t care what I was doing since my sister is going to take over the business. But now, if I don’t do this marriage thing, they were going to cut me off. I’d miss my Jordans, but I could deal if it was just me. But you know I’m the one who books our studio sessions, pays for the travel and new equipment when we need it. The guys chip in when they can, but they don’t make that much at their day jobs. I don’t make enough for it all either.”
You put your other hand over Jae’s. His band is his life. You’ve seen the shelves at his apartment filled with notebooks of music and lyrics instead of books. Some he’s actually played for you or let you read. He has his guitars named and arranged in order of favoritism for crying out loud. Making him abandon his music would be less painful than cutting out his heart while it still beat.
“We’re this close to a break, Doc. I can feel it.” Jae meets your eyes, none of the normal charm or ease there. Instead, they beg for reassurance, belief in him and his dream.
“I know you are. I come to every show I can, don’t I?” You smile, feeling the callouses from his constant playing rubbing against your own skin. “You're going to make it big. You have more talent than half the people on the radio. We just have to get the right people to listen.”
“Then I could support myself and I wouldn’t be in this mess.” He suddenly chuckles.
“What?”
“You could be too. You could be like our bus driver or roadie or something.”
“I have a job, you know. I just don’t work at the right place to make the big bucks. The clinic can barely afford our necessities, let alone big staff salaries. Besides, I don’t think it would matter.” You sigh again, unable to stop yourself from leaning against Jae. Everything feels too heavy and there’s a headache brewing in your temples. “I wouldn’t be surprised if my parents just found someone else to foist on me if this didn’t work out.”
“Damn. Seriously? We really won the lottery on the crappy parents, didn’t we?”
“That’s an understatement.” Looking down at your joined hands, you try to imagine matching weddings bands on your fingers. The idea is laughable. But nothing comes out of your mouth except the words, “We’re really going to do this, aren’t we? Get married.”
Jae’s shoulders lift beneath your cheek in a hopeless shrug. “For now, I guess so. Unless one of us wins the actual lottery. Or Day6 gets signed with a big bonus.”
You start nodding, then stop as an idea hits you, and groan. “Dammit… Jae, what’re we going to tell our friends?”
“What’d you mean? I doubt our parents are going to invite them to the wedding. Mine are too snobby and yours seem just as bad. Not like our friends read the newspaper either if our parents do one of those corny engagement ads.”
“I know my mother. She’s going to insist on an engagement ring and not a subtle one. Our friends know us. They’re not going to believe we went from friends to engaged. And what about what’s-her-name? The girl you’re talking to?”
“Oh,… yeah, that didn’t work out,” Jae says with a chuckle. “She didn’t like how much time I spent practicing. She told me it was either her or the band.”
Lifting your head, you stare at him. “What the hell were you doing dating someone like that?”
“She was hot?”
And he’s back. You drop his hand to smack his shoulder. “Gross!”
Jae raises his hands in defense, but a smile is back on his face, at least temporarily. “I’m kidding, jeez. Well, not really. She was hot, but I thought she really liked music slash the band too.”
“Sure.” Restless, you get off the bench and begin pacing. You think better on your feet. “But seriously, what’re we going to tell our friends? Us dating wouldn’t be too big a stretch, but no one would believe we’d do something crazy like get married out of nowhere. You’re impulsive enough for that, but not me. They’re going to know something’s up.”
“Firstly, I resent that impulsive comment. I'm just absurdly curious is all. And why not just tell them we’re dating?” Jae pulls in his legs when you almost trip over them. “But only if our parents make us move in together or something. Otherwise, we don’t need to. You don’t have to wear the ring unless our parents check in or whatever. Plus, like I said, crappy as it is, our parents wouldn’t think to invite them to the wedding. The only people there will be people we don’t care about. Then after we’re married, we just wait it out, not telling anyone, and then, like you planned, get a quick, quiet divorce when everyone’s safe. No one knows, we live our lives as normally as we can, and then we’re home free.”
Pausing in your marching, you look at Jae again. He looks far calmer than he has any right to be. Seems like he’s already accepted your predicament. But maybe he is right. Maybe this abrupt drop in the road of your life can be smoothed into a less dramatic sharp turn, or even a slight detour. Maybe you can do it. Together. The demons of uncertainty’s voices quiet for now.
Out loud, you say, “Alright.”
“Cool. Now that that’s settled,” slapping the edge of the bench, Jae pushes himself up, “we should probably get back. By the way, why’d you not want them to know we know each other?”
Raising your eyebrows incredulously, you ask, “You really want to give them one more thing to use against us?”
“Yeah, you’re right.” Straightening his clothes, he says, “Let’s go back to the lions’ den.”
Seeing his smile, that smile you know so well and love, relief hits you so hard, it makes your knees almost buckle.
You rush to him, burying your face in his shirt and curling your fingers around his jacket lapels. Your eyes burn, but your tears are thankfully exhausted. “Jae, I’m so glad it’s you. I really am.”
Fate and your parents’ scheming could have put anyone opposite you. Yet somehow, it’s Jae. A solid ally and friend instead of a dreadful unknown. With Jae, you have a fellow victim, a fellow survivor. A partner. One with no expectations except a continued friendship and reliance.
Although Jae had been stiff from surprise, his arms close around you and his body sags. Despite his boniness, the warmth of his embrace more than makes up for it. “Yeah, me too, Doc. Me too.”
“Were you scared too?”
“Fucking terrified. I thought I was going to be stuck with some prude princess. You know I can’t handle high maintenance. Ain’t nobody got time for that.”
Laughing, you step back. As usual, Jae’s humor helps break through your cloud of ill mood. Beckoning, you say, “Come here. We have to fix your hair or they might think something happened.”
“Yeah, because they’re such examples of people who believe in love at first sight and get swept up in mind-blowing passion,” he retorts, but he leans down anyway so you can smooth his hair. “Thanks. You ready?”
“Yeah.” You nod. This time, you believe it.

jae park x male reader
request: @xavimoonlight Jae and the reader being friends that keep arguing and end up arguing themselves into dating each other. Only for them to stop arguing when Young K suggest they break up.
"god! jae, its like you never shut up!"
"yeah, you never stop your talking either!"
dowoon walked by you guys, trying to steer clear of the yelling, but unable to not butt in, "you guys sound like an old married couple."
you noticed the sparkle in jae's eyes when dowoon said that. an idea immediately flashed into your mind.
"maybe he has a point."
"maybe? so you're not into me?"
"whatever jae! you always try to make this a problem when it's not! lets just get this over-" jae stopped you with a shove. he was centimeters away from your face; you could feel his breath on your lips.
"can i?" he stared down at your (plump/thin) lips, licking his own in the meantime. you nodded, leaning into him as well.
Tumblr media
"(y/n), you left your damn boxers on the floor again, are you ever going to learn how to clean up after yourself?" you scoffed crossing your arms as you stood in front of jae. the two of you were still arguing nonstop even after making it official.
"jae, all you do is complain about whatever it is i do! i never complain about you leaving the bathroom floor wet after you shower!"
"god, just fucking break up!" younhyun's voice barely made it to your ears but it made you wince a little. the realization hitting both you and jae.
you loved him, of course you didn't want to break up, so something had to change for the better, "we need to learn how to communicate better if we're gonna make this work, okay?"
jae nodded, his face sincere.
it was like you were seeing a new person when he did that. you knew this was gonna be worth it.
