Hot Chocolate and Chill?

Word Count: 671 Genre: Fluff! Member: Jae Requested: by @junspurplehair  : the prompt was “So….. you wanna….hot chocolate and chill?” “If you ask me that one more time, I will dump hot chocolate on you.”

“Oh, come on Jae, I told you I needed to go Christmas shopping, of course that implies we have to go outside. You should’ve dressed warmer.” you scolded as you zipped up your coat before leaving the store and venturing out into the cold December air.

        “Whatever,” Jae pouted, pulling is light coat closer around his body, “let’s just hurry up and get back to your place.”

        Some fifteen minutes later you and Jae were climbing up the stairs to your apartment, the elevator out of order for some unfortunate reason. After hiking up four flights of stairs the two of you pushed your way into your warm apartment. Jae immediately dropped everything and sprinted towards the couch, jumping onto it and covering himself with all the nearest blankets.

        “What a baby…” you muttered to yourself, shaking your head with a small smile tugging at the corner of your lips.

“Hey I heard that!” A muffled voice came from the couch. You only laughed, pulling off your coat and setting down the gift you had bought for family and friends.

“Do you want some hot chocolate?”  you asked, already pulling out the ingredients, knowing that he was going to say yes. Jae shot up from the couch.

“Ohhhhh… lol like hot chocolate and chill?” he said this a smirk. You chuckled.

“Very funny Jae very funny.” you said. Jae let out a loud laugh, obviously pleased with himself.

“How about you find us a movie to watch or something?” you questioned, heating up some milk for the hot chocolate. While you worked on making the two drinks, Jae flipped through the channels, still cracking jokes about “hot chocolate and chill” every few minutes.

“Jae, I swear…” You groaned from the other room, stirring in the chocolate.

“Hey! The old Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is on!” Jae called.

“Hey that’s my favorite one, the stop motion one, right?” you asked, walking into the living room with the two cups of steaming hot chocolate.

“Yup!” Jae said, propping himself up on one of the sides of the couch.

“Sweet!” You exclaimed, handing him his cup before sitting down next to him, pulling part of the blanket he had covering himself over your own cold legs.

“So… you wanna… hot chocolate and chill?” Jae asked for the thousandth time, a huge smirk on his face.

“If you ask me that one more time I will dumb hot chocolate on you.” you stated, staring him straight in the eyes. He threw his hand up in defeat, scooching in closer to you instead.

“This hot chocolate is actually pretty good…” Jae said after taking a few sips.

“Well of course it is, I put all my love in it while making it.” you pointed out. Jae gave you a disgusted look, causing you to laugh.

“Just shut up and watch the movie Jae.”

“Okay I will, I promise, but I just wanted to point out that it started to snow…” Jae said, pointing at the window.

“Oh my gosh! It didn’t say it was going to snow in the forecast today!” you exclaimed, wiggling around to see out the window better.

“Stop moving, you’re letting all the warmth out of the blanket!” Jae whined.

“Whatever…” you sang.

Before the movie was over, both you and Jae had finished your drinks, placing them on the table in front of you, since neither of you felt like getting up. Either the warmth from each other and your hot drinks, or the tiring events of the day (if not both) had lead the two of you to fall asleep right as the movie ended. Jae was just awake enough to find the remote and turn of the tv, leaving the only light in the room coming from the street light outside, the shadows from the falling snow making strange shapes against the wall. Neither of you bothers to change into pajamas, let along move, falling asleep right there on the couch, cuddled up together under the same blanket.

“Y/N!!!”

You almost jump out of your skin when you hear your boyfriend shrieking your name like this and you run out in the backyard, completely forgetting the reason he might be yelling like this.

“What? What is it? What happened?” you ask in a rush as you run outside your porch, barely managing to wear a jacket so the cold won’t affect you.

Your whole neighboorhood is drenched in white, snow covering almost every single surface on sight, except of the two pairs of tire tracks you left when you went to the convenience store this morning.

Which reminds you why Brian was screaming like crazy and staring at you like a madman.

Right next to your car lane lies a mess of snow, different than the rest mess of snow covering your backyard. Only because that particular mess of snow used to be a snowman crafted by your loving boyfriend.

Your eyes widen as you raise your hands up defensively. “I can explain..”

Brian takes a deep breath before he speaks up.

“My name is Brian Kang. You killed my snowman. Prepare to die.”

Brian’s stance is so strict and serious, holding a branch towards your direction like one would hold a sword and there’s only one thing you can do.

Burst into giggles.

Brian’s seriousness disappears to look at you in disbelief. “Don’t laugh, this is serious, you murdered my snowman!” he tries to reprimand you but you can’t stop laughing at his ridiculousness.

So he throws the stick away before marching over to you with loud steps.

“That’s it, missy, now you’ve done it,” he grumbles, placing you over his shoulders as you yell at him mid-giggles to put you down with no results.

Instead, he throws you in a big pile of snow that softens the fall as you try to get up.

Right when Brian yells at the top of his lungs “SNOWBALL FIGHT!”

You shriek out loud, running for shelter as Brian comes after you throwing snowball after snowball towards your direction.

“Stop it, stop it, I’m sorry!” you yell through your laughs but Brian doesn’t stop until he lays on top of you on top of the fresh snow. Both of you have big smiles on your faces and Brian moves to press a chaste kiss on your lips.

You relish in the warmth of the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck before Brian stops the kiss to look at you with pouty lips.

You laugh at his reaction before leaning forward to kiss the tip of his nose. “We’ll make a new one, okay?” you whisper against his lips and Brian smiles.

“Fine. But you’ll have to be extra careful around it, or I won’t go easy on you next time…” he mumbles against your neck and another giggle escapes you.

“Deal…” you smile before pressing another soft kiss on your boyfriend’s lips. One that feels so warm among all this cold, it feels like home.

Undercooked Christmas

Prompt: “Real funny.” -- @challengingwords​ prompt #50

Pairing: Jae Park x female reader

Genre: fluff / christmas au

Word count: 589

“What? Why isn’t it working?!”

Jae looked up from his phone at your panic, discarding the device to investigate your huffs and shrieks as you dashed around in the kitchen.

He found you looking at the oven in bewilderment, the turkey that had been put on for Christmas dinner still sitting there looking rather uncooked.

Your eyes flitted to his desperately. “The oven is broken.”

“Can’t be. We’ve been cooking in it all week long,” Jae reminded, stepping closer to check everything out.

“Well, now it’s not working! Dinner is ruined!” you cried, your gaze slipping to the clock on the wall with a hearty wail. “Everyone will be here in three hours!”

“Three hours should be plenty to cook a turkey,” Jae reasoned, but you were prancing up and down on the spot like a disgruntled reindeer who didn’t get to fly off with the others on Santa’s sleigh.

Looking closely at the oven, Jae stifled a laugh. “Babe?”

“Oh what?! Christmas is ruined all because our stupid oven is—”

“Not turned on,” he concluded with a snort.

Your irritable expression turned murderous. “Don’t be ridiculous. I turned it on hours ago! Look, the oven light is on and everything!”

Still struggling to not laugh, Jae pointed to the dials on the panel. “You’ve turned on the oven setting, which makes the light come on, but not the temperature gauge.”

“What?” Shunting him out of the way, you looked at the panel and then frowned. “But I… I’m sure I turned it on! Surely, I did! I got up and turned on the oven, and then dashed off to finish wrapping presents. I did it!”

Without answering, knowing you would hit him if he did, Jae reached for the temperature dial and turned it on. Instantly, the fans of the oven started up.

You shared a look with your partner, yours of sheer horror, whilst his was strangled amusement.

Jae couldn’t help it. Laughter erupted from every part of him, and he doubled over, gripping onto the countertop as his knees wobbled with the sheer strength of his reaction.

You grumbled incoherently as you opened the door to the oven and put the turkey back in it, reaching for the temperature to put it on the desired heat. “Oh yeah. Laugh it up, Jae. It’s real funny.”

���I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t laugh,” he wheezed out, looking up at you and then was hit with another wave of giggles. “But you were just so comical right now.”

“Super comical.”

“Come on, Y/N. You can see that this is a little funny, right?”

Your hands rose to your hips and his laughter cut short. “You know, I wonder if Santa is going to have anything but coal for you this year!”

“I already know you’ve gotten me three presents under our tree, babe,” he cheekily pointed out, and you spun on your heel, heading out of the kitchen and towards the twinkling pine in the corner of the room. Ducking underneath, you reached for those presents, right as Jae attempted to stop you.

“Okay, I’m an asshole for laughing at your stressed-out reaction!” he proclaimed, and you arched an eyebrow at him to show you were now ready to listen. Jae regathered himself before smiling warmly at you. “At least, we figured out it wasn’t working now instead of an hour before dinner. Christmas isn’t ruined. We’ve saved it by turning on the dial needed to actually cook things.”

Your eyes narrowed again at his jibbing. “JAE!”

Christmas Requests

In order to get in the christmas spirit, I’m going to be accepting christmas prompts up until December 25!

How it works:

❄ In your request, you have to give at least 1 number, and no more than 4, as well as which member and what genre (fluff, angst etc) note on this - i dont do smut

Tis the season to fall in love again with various kpop idols, I hope you enjoy this year’s edition. [And that this year has treated you well].

You ascend into consciousness into what appears as a blur of red and green. The ground below you feels uncomfortable, sharp edges puncturing your body everywhere as you try to make sense of where you are. You flinch in pain as you try to get up, only to groan out loud but then a helpful hand appears in front of you out of thin air.

You look upwards to find a boy looking at you with soft eyes and a kind smile. His eyes are brown reminding you of molten chocolate and his hair is a very golden shade of blonde, from what you can see from underneath his pointy hat.

Wait. Pointy hat?

The slight blur abandons your eyes and you realise the pointy hat is red and green. As are the rest of his clothes. Green shorts over striped tights and a red t-shirt over a simple green full-sleeved shirt. The pointy hat is decorated with small golden bells and right from underneath it are hiding two… two…

You gasp out loud.

Pointy ears.

The boy has pointy ears.

What the hell is going on?

“Hello, I can see you’re confused but I can help. My name is Jae and I’m a Christmas elf!” the boy in front of you greets you with a smile but you’re left in shock.

“A Christmas elf?” you ask incredulously.

“Well, I’m just an intern for now but if I do my job right, next year I’ll be promoted into a permanent Christmas elf!” the boy announces cheerfully but your eyes are already occupied as they take in the room you’re currently in. 

The ceiling is ten meters tall, the walls a beautiful shade of beige with red and green intricate details gracing them. There’s a huge fireplace with hundreds of stocking hanging over it, each one overstuffed and next to it stands proud a big Christmas tree. It’s a fir and it’s gigantic, almost reaching the ceiling, loaded with millions of ornaments and tinsels and ribbons and snowflakes and you can’t help yourself when the following words escape you.

“This tree’s bigger than my future.”

The boy next to you can’t help but laugh out loud at that before gathering your attention once more.”If you’ll follow me, we have to meet the big guy,” he motions you forward and you can’t help but follow him down the hall.

“Big guy?” you can’t help your curiosity.

The boy looks at you as if you’ve gone mad. “Well, Santa Claus of course, who else?”

On second thought maybe you have?

“Wait I have a question, if you’re an elf why are you tall?” you ask cautiously and the boy laughs again.

“Elves aren’t tiny like movies depict them. They come in the average human sizes,” he announces with a skimp on his step.

“Then why are they all so tiny compared to Santa?” you ask seriously, deciding to roll with it. Maybe it is all a dream that you will wake up from soon.

The boy only looks at you mischievously as you reach a big golden door. His hand wraps around the doorknob and with a smirk, he opens the door.

“I guess now you’ll get to see why everyone calls him “big guy”,” the boy says and when your eyes move to the room behind the door, your mouth drops.

There in the middle of the room rest a big wooden chair made of candy and glitter. And when we say big, we mean big, like the size of a closet big. And upon it sits a man, dressed in the familiar red and white suit, while running his fingers through his long, white beard.

Right before your eyes is Santa Claus himself. Him in his all seven meters glory.

“Santa, I brought you what you asked for,” Jae gleams at the man on the chair, swinging at the pads of his feet with glee.

The man with the white beard looks confused at the elf for a moment before a note of realization passes through his eyes and he rests his head on his hand with a sigh.

Jae’s smile slowly fades as he tries to understand what went wrong and you’re equally confused as to why Santa requested you specifically.

Oh my god! Maybe it’s like one of those movies where Santa has to pick a successor, and you’re the chosen one! Maybe all of the bad luck in your life has lead you to this moment where you’ll get to prove your worth and be the best Santa Claus to ever-.

“I asked for the purest pearl, not the purest girl,” the big guy sighs, looking more and more tired and a look of pure shock descends your features.

The purest girl? Is this some kind of a joke? You are not pure. Not pure at all. Where did this elf base his opinion on?

The boy looks mortified as his eyes travel between you and Santa. “B-But I thought you said-”

“Why on earth would I need the purest girl? I wanted the purest pearl as I gift for my wife and now you’ve ruined it…” Santa Clause explains rubbing his temples slowly before standing up from his chair.

“Maybe you’re not fit for this type of work. Call over Sungjin for me to take over,” Santa announces and Jae’s mouth clumps shut out of sheer embarrassment.

“And take this girl back to her home, for Christmas’ sake!”

“Can I ask one question before I go, though?” you interrupt the man itself and he turns around to finally look at you.

“You may, young girl,” he responds with a kind smile.

“How many advent calendars does one person need?” you ask the only question that’s been bugging your mind from the moment you stepped into the room. Every wall is filled with thousands of advent calendars, some of them open and some of them closed. You can’t help but wonder why does he need so many.

Santa Claus looks at you taken aback but then a loud laugh roars through the room. And for some reason, it starts snowing? Like inside the room? That has a roof and everything?

The man takes this moment of confusion to kneel in front of you with a wide smile.

“You wanna know why I have so many calendars, young girl?”. You nod eagerly.

The man smiles again and he leans forward, ready to confess to you one of his secrets and your whole body buzzes with excitement.

And then he replies.

“Because I’m Santa Claus!”

Then with one snap of his fingers, you’re back on your bed, safe and sound, fast asleep.

And in the morning you’ll wake up with one hell of a dream to tell your cousins.

skz of christmas day 5: christmas concert with seungmin

You press your SLR closer to your face, tilting the lens upwards while snapping more photos of your senior, Younghyun, as he leads Day6 to a cover of HONNE’s “Day 1.” You experimentally adjust the settings as you move to your left where the stage lights hit more frequently, eventually focusing on your other seniors Wonpil and Dowoon as well whom you have equally great views of from where you end up on the right side of the stage. 

“Hour by hour, minute by minute...again, thank you for having us SNU!” Younghyun sings into his microphone, waving at the energetic crowd of your university’s annual Christmas concert. “ I got mad love for you and you know it...” 

You bring your camera down after, adjusting its strap on your shoulder and holding the gadget itself in place on your side. I’ll just take photos again later, you think to yourself with a small smile, finally letting yourself sway gently to the music. 

“I would never leave you on your own, I just want you to know, oh...” As if on cue, someone then swiftly moves from behind you, head ducked down and arms pressed to his chest carefully so as to not get in the way of the people standing behind the two of you at the very front of the metal barriers. “You’ll always be my day one—this one’s for all the lovely couples who came out tonight and, hopefully, every pair who will be couples after this! We’re rooting for you guys!—day zero when I was no one...” 

“Hi.” Seungmin nudges your side with the widest grin you’ve ever seen him wear in a while, careful of your cameras clashing against each other between the two of you. The month’s worth of stress from planning this concert has clearly exited his system now that his favorite band is on stage. “Taken a lot of good photos so far?” 

You glance over at him and nod enthusiastically. “Yeah, I think I already got enough for the seniors. I’ll take photos again when 3racha goes on.” 

“Me too.” He hums with a nod of his own. After a brief pause, you then feel his fingertips gently graze yours, making you look down. “Do you want to take a break?” 

“Break as in food and water?” You raise an eyebrow with a chuckle, taking his hand in yours and swinging it in the remaining space between the two of you. In front of you, the song ends and the entire open field of students, faculty, and visitors cheer. “I could use water..maybe candy, it’s been thirty minutes.” 

You then see Seungmin chuckle sheepishly and briefly look up at the stage, mouthing something to Sungjin before turning to you again. “I was thinking...we could go off-duty for now. Hyunjin’s covering too, anyway.” He shrugs, pulling you gently towards him and to the direction of backstage. “Let’s go?” 

“Oh, what for?” You tease, following him anyway when he starts pulling you harder towards the direction of the empty backstage. The other acts have gathered on the other side of the stage to watch Day6, leaving the backstage area mostly empty of people. “We could just listen to the rest of the set here.” 

His voice growing faint in the expanding distance behind you, you hear Sungjin announce into his own microphone, “So this next song was actually requested by a dear friend. Hopefully everything turns out well tonight! This is one of our originals and it’s called I Like You...” 

You reach the backstage shortly, just as the song starts and Seungmin immediately motions for you to put your camera down. “I haven’t been alone with you the whole day.” He pouts as he places your SLRs on a nearby table, taking your hand again after. “Did you really have to take everyone else’s work a while ago?”

“You’re a weirdo, Kim Seungmin.” You scrunch your nose up as if feigning distaste, laughing right after when he wordlessly links your arms together and gently sways you to the music. You still have a view of the stage as you stand on the sidelines of the open area behind it, the music loud and clear despite the distance. “And we were understaffed literally two hours before the biggest concert of the school year because most of the people were enjoying the fair. I had to be here as Coordinator.” 

“Still...” He pouts deeper, making you coo at him. “I had the whole day planned and everything...” 

The revelation makes your eyes light up. “What did you have planned, hm?” 

You elbow him gently with the proximity but it takes Seungmin a while to answer as he looks away, hiding a faint blush dusting his cheeks. “Did you see the Octopus ride they set up just yesterday? I was gonna ask you to go with me...then maybe give you the stuffed puppy I won at the shooting games.” He rambles once he’s gathered enough courage to do so. You listen intently, continuing your swaying as heat rises up to your own neck. “That took a whole afternoon, you know, but I’m not sure if you’d appreciate it the same since I didn’t win it in front of you...” 

“Minnie...” 

He turns to you after with the fondest gaze, taking in a deep breath before continuing, “So, uh, I guess this is my last chance for the whole fair this year. What I’m trying to say is that...”

Your breath catches in your throat, your hands turning clammy as Seungmin leans even closer than before. “W-What—?”    

In the distance, the music briefly stops right after the bridge, catching you and Seungmin off-guard. “Just say, ‘I’m sorry.’ That’s what you all gotta do, I’ll be fine...” Jae dramatically sings off as the instrumentals stop, snickering loudly right after. “Kim Seungmin, wherever you are, the hyungs are wishing you good luck! Anyway, Merry Christmas SNU!” 

Seungmin scoffs at this as the moment’s effectively broken, making you laugh as the music comes back in full force with the last chorus. “Oh my God, I swear—” 

You cover your mouth with your one hand and playfully push him away by his shoulder, throwing your head back in amusement. “Did you tell them to say that?” 

“No! That’s so embarrassing!” He groans, slapping a hand to his temples. “Now, it’s all ruined!” 

You’re quick to shake your head as you bite down your laughs, taking Seungmin’s hands in yours again. “No, no, you were doing so well! Just pretend like—pretend like Jae didn’t say that.” 

“You just mentioned it so now I’m thinking about it!” 

“Yeah, well, whatever! Are you gonna finish your confession or what?!” You pretend to be annoyed with a huff, making him relax and laugh. 

“Fine!” He plays along, taking a step closer to you again. Taking another deep inhale, he then asks in a more gentler tone, “Y/N, will you officially be my girlfriend?” 

You wait for the music to die down before answering with a nod. “Yes, of course.” You smile before tiptoeing up to his level for a kiss. “Finally, that’s done!”
