As you all know, my first dog and love of my life, Frida, passed away right before my 30th birthday. She had been by my side since I was 21 years old and was my everything. During my life with Frida, she changed me in so many positive ways. Even upon her passing, she has only continued to help me grow in ways I did not expect. In addition, receiving so much love and support from family and friends really helped me get through one of the darkest times in my life. A few days ago, I came across a rescue organization, Dawg Squad, which had just received two puppies found abandoned in a random yard, both sick and in need of major attention and love. I made the decision to meet them and see how I would react emotionally. The second I held one of them, who fell asleep in a matter of seconds, I knew I was in love and that was exactly how I wanted to feel. I put a lot of thought into my next decision because I am still grieving over the loss of Frida and want to honor all of the emotions I am feeling. I decided that just as Frida had helped me through the toughest time of my life, a new puppy would do the same. I’m very, very, very proud to introduce to you Taco Hope Woo. Her name pays tribute to Frida’s name and to my profession, plus it’s super fun to say. I miss Frida so incredibly much and although she will always have claim to my heart, it is very obvious to me that since Taco has been home, she is slowly helping me heal.
