Thinking about the dynamics between my Veil Jumper Rook and Davrin, both Dalish Elves, both growing up amongst the trees of Arlathan and Halla, they both know the old stories went through more or less the same coming of age beats that Dalish Clan Elves would. But their stories couldn't have diverged more differently, Agni abandoned Clan life for purpose amongst the Jumpers, Davrin wanted to be more than a footnote or practitioner of his heritage.

Being a Veil Jumper is no less dangerous than being a Grey Warden, the dangers are different but the risk of dying is still high. But Agni only went a little to the left of what being a Dalish elf meant, they're working hard to preserve and acquire old relics and artifacts that the Dalish had been working towards for centuries.

Davrin walked away from it, and this is just within my personal headcanons and playthroughs but I wonder if on the days when Davrin misses his Clan life most of he doesn't look at Agni and Bellara with envy. Being a Grey Warden is lonely, having only his duty and promised end at the hands of Darkspawn between villages, and towns and returns to Weisshaupt.

I wonder if this game had a lot more time to properly cook if they'd give you small interactions like that depending on your background with your love interest.

How long does it take for Assan to get used to sharing Davrin, do you think? Like, with the one companion commentary we get from Emmerich, Assan is moody because he doesn't get to spend as much time with Davrin lately, and Davrins' response is well, he's going to have to learn to share.

And with how when Agni(my Rook) and Davrin were kissing during the romance lock in scene Assan immediately played cute and was all like, "Did you forget to ask someone if this was okay >:(" You know that little guy is planning to the degree a cat-bird son can to make sure that, 'excuse me but we are about me now, not romance'.

Like how long does it take for Assan to stop cock-blocking Agni(Rook) to him instead cock-blocking Davrin, which is way more funny. Because Davrin would not see that betrayal coming.

I'm glad I got a little bit of interaction with the Veil Jumper Rook x Davrin post. I genuinely like hearing about other people's Rooks while I'm trying to sort through mine lol. And mostly because it's helping avoid the millions of plot bunnies Davrin has been giving me. It's legitimately insane, I note down blurbs in my notes app for one shot ideas or things id like to explore. For shipping content alone I have like 9 fic ideas outside of the Armageddon Game AU.

I've spending the past couple of days in incredible pain but also thinking deeply about the Vampire x Monster Hunter Davrook fic I'm writing, and I have rewritten this outline six times bro

Every time I start I'm like okay wait hang on I figured out how to solve that problem 30 chapters away(I jest idk when it will come up)

And I keep adding layers of how they meet and now instead of over a dating app they're meeting outside a bar and Davrin is passed tf on the floor.

How did I get here, I had a point

This is true, and Agni will do nothing to stop this. And at first Davrin doesn't mind but it does get to a point where he has to schedule alone time with Agni and leave Assan with Eldrin for the night(I leave the Griffons' with Arlathan canonically) and then Assan comes back moodier than before because 'where are his cuddles from dad? Where are his kisses from Rook? You are unjust parents and I am going to scream.'

Fake Dating AU between Firefighter!Davrin and Analyst/Dispatcher Agni

Why is Davrin a Firefighter? Modern AU and I hate cops

Why is Agni an analyst/dispatcher, figured Veil Jumpers would be engineers so either Data Analyst/Dispatch(to give Davrin a reason to recognize Agnis voice)/or IT. But Agni isn't an IT NB y'know.

Anyway Assan is either a real boy that Davrin fosters or is one of many cats. I'm looking at Mainecoones because they are huge and I love Maine Coones
