One endlessly good man who is still just a man being made into a legend he didn’t want as a side product of attempting to do the right thing (and pulling it off by sheer luck and an overabundance of balls) in order to be used for propaganda by people who always have something to gain from him and then being attacked for that same legend by those same people because it was meant to be an easily manipulated myth. It wasn’t meant to be a prophecy, it wasn’t meant to be true. All the butterfly story really is is just that, a story. That’s not how the world actually works and nobody can be that good anyway, right - but if somehow this one nobody man really is just naturally that good despite the way of the world around him, what does that mean for them? What does looking in that mirror make them? What light does his presence cast them in but an ugly shadow? So they try to tear him down to prove that he’s just a man and he is - he meddles and oversteps and fumbles his way through the shadowy workings of politics like a blind man, letting his faith in the good of people get in the way of good judgement - but he’s the kind of man that keeps choosing to be good and true over and over despite his doubts, despite what the world throws at him, that in doing so he inevitably inspires the people around him to do the same.

Government Policies

Mr. Shepherd:

It was, I do remember, in the month before September That the Premier blew on embers of conspiracies galore Like that vaccines were actually deadly, for young children especially, And strange deaths increasing readily, people dying by the score, And though the facts did not support it, she said it’s something she’d explore

Members spoke ‘bout immigration, and the pace of its inflation, Claimed Ukrainians we welcomed led to swastikas in our streets Said access to ivermectin should have no peer-reviewed direction Just the feeling of a single doc who’d do just as they please And claimed that teachers in our schools handed out pornography

And we know it’s been a pattern, it’s been more than just a smattering Of occasions when the Premier’s flirted with conspiracies Like that people commit arson to frame burning hydrocarbons For non-existent climate change so they can force through policies And that planes are spraying chemicals to bring us to our knees

Now, I’d laugh, but it’s not funny. Millions in public money are being spent now just because this government is pandering to this: creating binding legislation based on lies, misinformation that will, in its application, hurt real people in our midst, breaking systems we depend on for their gain and benefit.

I think it’s cold and callous, almost bordering on malice, for a government to encourage this. It’s something to abhor. But I know we can have better and we’re working hard to get there with our leader Naheed Nenshi in three years from ’24. Albertans, well, they’ll have the chance to vote for something more.

Yes, they’ll vote for something more and tell this Premier: nevermore.

Shepards Prairie

This is for an art showcase. My church is hosting on August 25! So these art pieces are supposed to be in a Western style about our 40-week series "THE GOOD BOOK" SOOO i decided to do week 12 "The Good Shepard" Psalm 23

I decided to draw David when he was a young shepard boy. I like to think that when David was a shepard boy and the greatest king, it was an example of how God is and how he takes care of us and leads us like how a shepard would lead his sheep. If that makes sense-

Soo yeah! David is my second favorite historical person to look back on and read (not his sins. What he did was pretty bad💀) but he is known to be the greatest king alive.
