-Spoilers for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Ahead.-

Bro I literally teared up. I am honestly only playing for the character that is Frank Woods. I grew up with Alex Mason and his story and recently I've gotten back into it as an adult. I love the arc we have sort've been on with Alex and Frank. They are so special to me and I could go on forever about them- but enough about me-

So Far there are two moments that I've just loved and been incredibly sad at. The shorter one, that you will probably barely notice, is when we are back at the mansion-manor?, home? house?-

We, as Case, are next to my new favorite person maybe ever Felix. The rest are near a fire they have and before Adler radios in with bad news, you hear the end of a funny memory Frank is sharing with the team.

So far, I have felt that even though we have the same Frank Woods, he is a very obviously subdued version of him. It's felt like... I don't know. Do you know when you're pretending you are normal and cracking jokes but you're so exhausted and you'd rather not say anything but you don't want anyone to ask you anything. I do think he's like making an effort but this whole situation starts off with Adler who we later learn is the one being blamed for Frank's "Condition" and the deaths of Alex Mason and Jason Hudson. I wouldn't want to be reminded of that dang mission ever in my life but suddenly Adler is back into the mix and suddenly it's all about Panama and Mason and who Frank once was- and I think it's a lot for him. He's older. He can't fight. He can't move as he once did. Now, he has people he is mentoring. He's staying back while they go. He had built a wall around these people because this isn't forever and he didn't owe them a sob story. Anyway- so yeah it's a big deal that he's sharing a story with them because it's a story about Alex. It's not confirmed but all we hear is something in the realm of (I'm paraphrasing)

"Yeah, we are in D.C. now- Not Alaska." Which prompts a laugh from the people there.

Now. Let's put on our thinking caps on and try to remember who in the game is canonically Alaskan.

ALEX MASON. HE'S TELLING THEM ABOUT ALEX AND A FUNNY STORY ABOUT HIM. BECAUSE FRANK KNEW HIM. FRANK KNEW HIM AND KNEW ALL SIDES OF HIM and Alex wasn't just some coworker that survived getting brainwashed and was basically the best soldier there ever was.

Alex was his best friend. They mention it multiple times in the story.

Frank lost his Best Friend. Most of all, he feels it was his fault because he pulled the trigger.

He let his walls down and he's letting these people in to know someone so important to him.

The next moment is when we go up to talk to him and ask how he's doing. I think there is a visible change in him. He feels lighter.

He talks about enjoying the "thing they have going on." They don't take orders from anyone and they're kind of their own paramilitary group in a way. No hidden agendas just stopping the bad guys. and Case responds with, "You don't have to go back to Langley."

And why would he want to go back there let's be honest.

And THEN HE RESPONDS WITH "I haven't told anyone this but with Mason gone, I wanna look after his boy... Bring him up."

And what had me in this scene isn't that he is going to raise David, We know he ends up doing that.

BUT how much Frank has come to terms with letting go.

Frank obviously to some degree enjoyed his job. I don't know how long he did it for but, he is still involved back at the C.I.A so we can see that he didn't want to be left out completely.

And he gets a taste of that back.

He has found something that works for him and allows him to continue on this path. But. BUT.

"With Mason gone, I wanna look after his boy."

He's going to leave it behind for David and Alex.

He's not going to leave David alone. ALEX WENT BACK TO THAT LIFE despite having PROMISED his son that he was done. because of frank. Frank needed him and Alex saved him.

A lot of fans point at Frank and Alex and say Gay lovers.

and like yeah what about it.

But also I think what the writers are going for is the most devasting option is that these guys are Best Friends and that's so much worse.

Idk if any of ya'll ever had a best friend, but there are moments when you question if God made them just for you.

Because the closeness you feel in your soul and the Love that is the same Love and Loyalty you reserve only for Family outpours to them as well. And they aren't family but they're someone who knows the most inner parts of you. A best friend is someone who loves you back just the same.

I honestly believe that there was nothing Frank could've ever done that would've turned Alex away from him. Frank was blinded by revenge and accidentally killed an innocent girl, but Alex remained by his side.

It just killed me because Frank could've kept going, Idk if he retires after COD 6 something tells me he does, but he doesn't.

David needs him. He needs to keep Alex's memory alive and I personally headcannon that Frank mentions Alex all the time. Like it's rare if you don't hear about Frank's best friend Alex in a whole week because that was Frank's best friend and he was a Badass.

Anyways there might've been more for me to say but it's late .

Dadler and Gravesosn au headcannon

1.Bell is named after Phillip's favorite toy Mr. Bell who is a Blue teddy bear with a missing eye.

2. bell breaks into Adler's house and finds Phillips drawing's on the fridge stuck to the fridge with animal magnets

3. Phillip speaks with Adler regularly either over the phone, in person or even over fucking email they always talk.

4. Phillip had started smoking as a marine recruit as soon as Adler found out. all of Phillip cigarettes miraculously disappeared from the entire base.

5. if Adler dies (looking at you Bell) the whole of shadow company shows up at his funeral to pay respects and comfort Phillip.

6. Adler is in charge of 141 because of Shepard's betrayal/court case. Adler quickly finds about their hate for his son/graves and does some detective work but after trying to resolve the tension between 141 and Phillip he just ends up taking them all to shadow company's thanksgiving.

7. while Adler is in charge of 141 they find out that he's Phillip dad by a series of photos on his desk of kid Philip and shadow company family photos.

8. Adler rants to woods about 141 on a daily basis so much so that woods wants to meet them so he shows up literally blowing the door off its hinges and rolling (literally) into the room with two six-packs of beer.

9. Adler always has a picture of Phillip with him whenever he can (outside of missions) he has one in his office, car, wallet and one next to his bed

10. woods spoils Phillip and David so much to the point that Adler has to throw a 12 pack of beer and box of cigarettes at him to get woods to stop.

DriftWood Masterlist

Series Summary: After finding you in an abandoned town 10 miles down the road from the house Sevati, Felix, Marshall, Woods, Case and Adler are staying in, she hides you away, not knowing how the rest of the team would react. However, as tensions grow higher and missions become increasingly dangerous, you can’t stay hidden forever.

Characters: Sevati Dumas, Felix Neumann, Frank Woods, Russel Adler, Troy Marshall, William “Case”Calderon, David Mason, Alex Mason, more to come… (all platonic relationships)

System:

DriftWood is a “choose your own adventure” style writing, where you will be shown images of in-game locations and be given options to choose. Choosing these options can lead to different “endings” or interactions with different characters.

Different icons next to choices mean different things.

Example—>

The arrow icon means that by choosing this option you are moving ahead to the next “main chapter” and skipping all other options. If you do this, I advise sticking with your decision in order to lessen confusion.

Example

No icon means that this is simply a choice to branch off of, it is not going ahead to the main story. This can lead to deaths (endings), consequences, achievements, gaining something in your inventory, etc.

Example: {ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED:_____}

Certain actions will make you unlock “achievements” which is what makes each ending different. The more achievements you can/do unlock, some choices will require certain achievements to access in order for the story to make sense. The achievements required will be listed for future choices.

If you have already made a choice, then to prevent confusion I advise not going back and getting an achievement just because you want to.

Inventory System:

Throughout the game, certain choices may give you certain things, or you may choose to collect things throughout the story. Your “inventory” doesn’t have any limits and you can carry whatever you want, but there can be consequences for being caught with some items. Be mindful of what you have.

More may be added to the list as the story progresses.

If you see something that looks interactable, or you want a closeup picture of it or maybe have it added into the story, just shoot me an ask or DM me and I’ll probably add it if it isn’t too difficult. (This goes for concepts as well, if something doesn’t take up a huge amount of time, I might add it in for fun like spin-offs, etc)

There will be BO6 Campaign spoilers eventually, as the story begins from Sevati’s perspective of the beginning of the “Hunting Season” mission. Everything I make into my story might not be perfectly canon, but I’ll try to stick to it.

However, you do not have to play the games to understand. All lore will be explained in the story, as the reader starts of from a perspective of not knowing anything. You can read this even if you just interact with the fandom, it should mostly make sense.

More Captain Hamilton Discoveries In The Henry Knox Papers, Wherein Some Men Apparently Enlisted In The British Forces?

Well this just got interesting. I have now come across a letter written to Henry Knox in June of 1776, informing him of a claim by one of the men in Washington's Life Guard (who was currently detained on account of the ongoing efforts to stop a plot to capture or assassinate Washington, which it was thought the Life Guard was connected to) that a number of men in Captain Alexander Hamilton's artillery company deserted and enlisted in the British forces, for whom the Life Guard member knew names.

The letter, written by Lieutenant Colonel David Mason to Henry Knox on June 22, 1776, is shown and transcribed below, due to the unfortunate fact that the database which The Henry Knox Papers were digitized to is limited to institutional access. The letter can be found here, however.

New York, 6 Clock p.m., June 22

I just Rec'd [Received] intelligence from a genl [gentleman?] in the City that one Lara Fraga Private in the genl's [General's] guard now under confinement says that there is a Number of men in Capt Hamiltons compy [company] who have inlisted [sic] in the minesterall [sic] troops which men he will point out if he can see the compy which I thought proper to inform you [last part of line, and the entirety of the last line in the paragraph are crossed out and difficult to read]

I have no confirmation if this information is, in fact, true. Nor am I very familiar with the plot in question. If this would prove to be true, that would be a pretty surprising development. I am inclined to believe by the level of detail provided that it could be true, however further documentation would be needed to actually prove it. As far as desertions in Hamilton's company go, the most recent confirmed instatance was in late May of 1776. Though, desertions occurred quite often among his men (for more details, please see this timeline).

If anyone has more knowledge of the events surrounding this letter, or the individuals mentioned, I would be super excited to hear about it. And I do hope this is interesting to someone.
