I have never related to a character as much as David from Giovanni's room. Which is not a good thing.

But oh oh. He is so me. In almost every part. My god, as if the book wasn't depressing enough it also forced me to self reflect and now I don't know what to do.

@grim-has-issues Know I love you but I'm gonna take the utmost pleasure in explaining to you why you're wrong cause that doesn't work the way you think it does.

So why don't Sam and Darlin work in my Achilles and Patroclus comparison like David and Asher. Well it's actually a very simple reason. Sam and Darlin lack the history.

Achilles and Patroclus grew up together, they trained together, they were soldiers together. They basically lived in each other's pocket since they were kids. Sam and Darlin don't have that kind of connection. They grew up in two separate worlds, in two separate times. David and Asher do. They grew up in the same pack, they've been best friends since they were little, they have that deeper sense of connection.

It's because of their history together that makes the story of Achilles and Patroclus so heart-wrenching. It's because of their history that sets Achilles off the way he does when Patroclus dies. This wasn't just some soldier that he got close to, this was his best friend, someone who he'd known and cared for and loved since he was just a boy. And we only find that in David and Asher (most poignantly in Imperium but it works in Prime too with the catalyst being Inversion rather than the Quinn fight).

Sam and Darlin as Achilles and Patroclus only works at surface level. If you just look at "hothead soldier who would lose it if they lost their partner" and "calm and collected partner that wants to protect their soldier" then yeah, it works. But it lacks depth, it lacks detail, it lacks the structure that makes this hit so hard. And this is me so you already know surface level just won't cut it.

David and Asher have the full setup. They grew up together, they were extremely close, and losing one would set the other off because of how deep of a loss it would be. In Imperium, we see Asher go full Achilles. He finds David dying and rips Quinn apart in revenge. He becomes a cold-hearted monster that just wants blood in return for the world taking his best friend and lover from him. Everything just works so much better.

Trust me my friend, I considered Sam and Darlin for my comparison. But when you look below the surface, it just falls apart. The only characters this really works with are David and Asher. I put far too much thought into all of my posts cause it's not angst if it's not accurate.

But thank you for allowing me to actually explain why this doesn't work with other characters. I mean I was going to eventually but you let me get it done nice and early before all the thoughts dribbled out of my ears.

like idk if u guys have checked the fandom tag on ao3 recently but theres been a bit of drama surrounding the fact that someone posted a smut-fic of Exer (an 18yo) and David (an almost 18yo, who was aged up A FEW MONTHS for the fic) and they were harassed into taking it down and making a fucking apology post ON AO3, THE PROBLEMATIC FANWORKS WEBSITE.

and this fic was tagged 100% correctly like it was very explicitly tagged as smut n stuff yet there were still a bunch of comments being like “uhm what did i just read 🤨” and when i made a comment defending the authors right to yk, not be harassed for making not even rlly problematic content someone who clearly would suffer withdrawal symptoms if they turned twitter off for too long started arguing with me abt how “erm ackhtually we should be allowed to comment harassment under ppls harmless and explicitly tagged fics cause theres no smut in this fandom and it shocked us” and u could just rlly tell they felt they were more righteous than God in their opinions and yeah so cut to tonight when i’m scrolling through the tag and i see a post titled “i’m so sorry” in which the author made a post basically being like “i’m so sorry for posting that ik it was disgusting it has been permanently deleted” which in the comments a few ppl were telling them that what happened sucked n stuff (myself included // judging by their reply they only did this to stop the harassment which yk, completely fair) and i went back to scrolling since i wanted an actual fic not fandom drama but like 2 posts down there was another post titled “please stop” or smthn like that where someone else made a post basically being like “guyssss can we please not write smut of these characters this fandom is so wholesome i dont wanna ruin it 🥺 anyways sorry this isnt a fic this just needed to be said lol” and like dude, my guy, WHAT THE FUCK?!

this is AO3, this is a fanwork archive that as far as i know was created (at least partially) due to the fact that ppl kept getting their “problematic” works taken down from other sites and the creators wanted to yk archive all fanworks. this is NOT a social media site where u can make callout posts abt how what someone else posted disturbed ur pure wholesome chaste scrolling by daring to uploaded something with *gasp* consensual sex between 2 consenting adults?! (or canonically 1 consenting adult and 1 consenting gonna-be-an-adult-in-a-few-months-but-isnt-much-younger-than-the-first-guy but u get the idea)

like guys, ao3 is not twitter. it is not tiktok, it is not tumblr, its not youtube, its not even wattpad. it is not a social media platform, it is a fanwork archive, specifically one that lets u post whatever kinda content u want (yes, even smthn depicting 2 consenting adult/almost adult participates that are in no way related having sex, ik its crazy what they allow online these days).

If Chloe was the villain of Life Is Strange

I remember games like Silent Hill, Portal and Bully where your friend or trusted figure turns out to be the villain and I can't help but wonder what Life Is Strange would look like if Chloe Price was the villain. So this is an au I put together about said scenario.

My way of doing this is to turn Chloe into a possessive Yandere that uses their nostalgic friendship to use Max to do what she wants. Max's journey from the beginning of the game is to build the confidence that she does get throughout the game we know and love, only this time she acknowledges the friendship with Chloe is toxic and can walk away. We'd also see characters like Kate, Warren, and Joyce telling Max that there is something off about Chloe.

But to change it so Chloe is the actual killer, Chloe finds Rachel’s crumbled up letter and acts irrationally, broken hearted and this leads her in killing Rachel in a jealous rage. Chloe later finds out Rachel was involved with Nathan, Frank and Jefferson and pledges to kill them all. Then one day, Max comes back and tells Chloe about the storm and her powers. Chloe is gonna get her revenge and she’ll have Max to herself(in a very yandere way)

She’ll first kill Frank because he threatens Max, when we go to interrogate Frank as we do in canon. Chloe antagonizes Frank to the point where Frank pulls a knife on Max and then Chloe shoots Frank. Then get back at Nathan for trying to daterape her, as Max goes to the party, Chloe goes back to the dorm and when Nathan is in his dorm room, Chloe doses Nathan and then gives Nathan an overdose of pills.

Since Jefferson isn't the killer, at worse he's just a pervert who preys on teenage girls. They found the dark room where he develops his pervy pictures. Nothing more, nothing less. He uses the everyday hero contest as a means to collect new subjects and had plans for Max. Chloe found the perfect scapegoat and the perfect excuse to kill the man Rachel wrote about.

As they are getting to find Jefferson. Chloe suddenly vanishes and leaves Max to Jefferson’s mercy as Max acts like the bait, and then bam, Chloe shoots him from behind and Max faints due to seeing someone die in front of her. While Max is still out, Chloe takes her to the dark room.

Max is relieved to see Chloe, but sees that she’s tied up. Chloe explains everything. She saw an opportunity to get back at everyone who has turned her life into shit. Rachel for cheating on her and the men she cheated on her with and Max’s doomsday gave Chloe an out on all the debt, the abuse from David and how Joyce ruined their lives. Chloe and Max can start fresh without Arcadia Bay. "I wasn't kidding when I said I wanted Arcadia to turn to glass, and you gave me the perfect way to bring my dream to reality" Max is horrified with everything she’s hearing, asks what about her friends and Chloe uncaringly says “I just can’t let anyone but me be in your life, sorry Max but they’re going down with the storm, no tea dates or going ape for you, shakah brah. Funny thing, when I saw how you lived a life at Blackwell without contacting me, I just couldn't take it. I persuaded your precious Kate to go to that Vortex party, I just couldn't believe she would go viral….if only you let her jump. And Warren, I wanted him dead since that phone call about "Going Ape", but the storm will take care of that, you are mine Max” and Max calls her a monster and throws back all the gaslighting and abuse she’s thrown her way and all Chloe can say is “you’ll forgive me after the storm is over, don’t worry, no matter what you’re mine Max,” Then Max has had enough. and has a very Todd like callout. "Chloe, just stop. You are all the things that's wrong with you. You chose to be bitter, insecure and jealous about Rachel. It isn't William's death, or the abuse, David or Joyce, the drugs or the debt. It's you. You chose to be this way. You chose to manipulate me with our past and abuse me if you didn't get your way. You chose to kill Rachel and you became a monster and I'd rather die than continue being your friend. I should've done this when you blew up at me about taking Kate's phone call, but I am done with you, fuck you Chloe."

Chloe did not like that one bit. She angrily takes out her gun and prepares to kill Max.

She's stopped when David arrives.

Chloe knew he’d be there and hides and when David opens the door, Chloe blows his head off. Max has a choice.

Stay in this very abusive relationship and hope she can make her better after the storm glasses Arcadia Bay or rewind and help David stop Chloe.

Stay.

Max tells Chloe everything she wants to hear. That she's sorry that she didn't contact Chloe all those years, that she's right about everything and that she needs Chloe and as much as she needs Max. Chloe puts the gun down and hugs Max, but tells her "don't you dare think of standing up to me like that again, but it's okay. We're going to leave this ugliness all behind and start all over, it will be just like when we were kids, but better. I'll be better Max, I promise" They drive off to the Lighthouse just to watch the destruction of Arcadia Bay.

Chloe looks on the destruction with satisfaction and wonder, while Max looks horrified. Chloe kisses Max in the chaos of the storm. "Now you're all mine Max"

They drive off. Max looking uncertain with a tinge of fear in her eyes while Chloe has so much in store for their new lives.

Rewind

David subdues or kills Chloe and Max goes to the diner.

Max tells Warren everything. He believes her and he's proud he stood up to Chloe and survived that awful relationship. Max kisses him for being the real person who stood by her side and she's sorry she didn't see it sooner.

Max doesn't know what she should do about the storm and Warren advises Max to use the picture they took, and have the two of them make it to the lighthouse while David arrests Chloe.

But during the nightmare, it isn't Max who's trying to convince Max her choices were bad, it's Chloe.

She berates Max and tells her what a bad friend she was to her. Gaslights her and uses their memories as a means to manipulate her(yeah the memory lane bit is not a happy thing, it's nostalgia meant to control Max) but outcomes Kate and Warren to bring Max out of this cycle of abuse and for the last time, Max rejects Chloe.

So Max goes back in time and instead of just letting Nathan kill Chloe, she warns Nathan not to go into the girls bathroom and leaves the evidence for David about Rachel's death and David is the one waiting for her in the girl's bathroom to apprehend Chloe. Max also leaves a trail of bread crumbs leading to the arrests of Nathan, Jefferson and Frank.

Max is sad of what Chloe became, but she's free and she's moved on with her life and it ends with a montage of Max having a teadate with Kate and Going Ape with Warren

I want to say this for myself, just because I feel like something is afoot and I wanna make this clear. This isn't a callout or anything like that. This is just my personal stance.

I love season 2. I adore season 2. I have loved everything about it since I saw it. Since it was coming out. I didn't even hate the ending which I know some people have qualms with. I love every second of it with my whole heart and wouldn't be here today in this fandom, having the time of my life if I didn't.

I also love all the BTS we're getting. I love it and I do love seeing what we could've had and maybe a part of me feels a little bitter we didn't get it.

But that doesn't matter because I love season two. I'm grateful we got season 2 and every day I am just so thankful to have been able to be a part of this fandom and this wonderful show. Season 2 makes my heart ache in all the best ways. But I also feel a little sad at what we didn't get.

That doesn't make me love season 2 any less, and I hope beyond all hope that we get picked up for season 3, because this show and this fandom and the people in it have given me something to fight for and to hope for. This is the first time in my life I've fought for something like this with all the love and pain and hurt in my heart.

I would not change anything about season 2. I will continue to mourn what could've been. I will celebrate what we got, and the glimpses of what we missed that we are given. But I will also continue to love this fandom endlessly and love what we're doing. And nothing will change my mind about us getting season 3 until David Jenkins himself tells us to wave the white flag. So please remember.

Loving everything about season 2 and also feeling a little mournful and bitter about what we could've had is okay. They can co-exist. If Ed and Steve can co-captain and be boyfriends, this can coexist, and that's alright.

Hi! need some reassurance here. Am i the only one who is sad because we don’t know if we are gonna to see Michael and David working together again? Between the strike (which I totally support) and amazon not renewing GO, nothing is certain right now. I just miss them, i miss the interviews and i need new content. Note aside, I really don’t like the personal content that GT is posting on IG, like the video of David at the festival. Maybe it’s because I’m still new to the fandom and I’m not British, so i’ve a very different kind of humor, but her content somehow irk me… I don’t know. And don’t let me start talking about AL: she seems so phony and rude and i get nothing but bad vibes from her. Why does she always mock Michael’s appearance? I know, it’s none of my business 😅 So yeah… sorry about the rant!

Hi there! Grouping these together, since I'm a bit overdue in addressing some of this.

So as of this writing, the WGA strike has been resolved (hooray!) and the writers are back to work (including Neil, whom I believe is returning to writing GO season 3). SAG-AFTRA (of which Michael and David are both members) is continuing its strike, however, but hopefully it will also be resolved soon.

That said, I am definitely with you in feeling sad about not knowing when Michael and David will work together again. I believe the renewal for S3 is still pending, so it is indeed a time of uncertainty. My hope is that if/when the SAG strike is resolved, we might perhaps get some interviews with Michael and David that we otherwise were unable to get when GO 2 first came out. It may be too late to promote the season, of course, but we have to remember that earlier this year, Michael was popping up on nearly all of David's TV appearances (The Last Leg, Have I Got News For You), so even if a formal project isn't currently in the works, it hopefully won't be too long before we have the chance to see them together again.

To the rest of your Ask and @phantomstars24's, I've had multiple people asking me about what happened with Anna and her being called out, so for those who might've missed it, what occurred was that two weeks ago, someone left a comment on one of AL's Insta posts (the one with the photos from the "family holiday" in Sweden the weekend prior) calling her out for her repeated comments about Michael's appearance over the last few years:

Several comments from people defending AL/attacking the commenter followed these, and the next morning, she responded with this comment (not on the chain of already existing comments, but separately):

My initial impression was to be surprised that she responded at all. If the callout commenter's words truly meant nothing and weren't worth responding to, why say anything? But AL chose to reply, and that was her decision, so here we are. What is strange to me, though, is that she also chose to flat-out lie about something easily provable, given that her comments about Michael's appearance have all been well-documented on her Insta and Twitter over the past three years.

The second thought that came to mind is that this seemed like another attempt on her part at being Georgia--i.e., wanting/trying to give a witty "clapback" to a criticism. Instead, her comment comes across as insecure and insincere, with "magnificent hair growth" being a particularly egregious example of laying it on thick (who even talks like that? No one talks like that.). I was truly surprised to realize this comment was written by an almost 30-year-old woman, as it reads more like a teenager having a fit--though in fairness, there are plenty of teenagers who are far more mature than this.

There is also the notion that we are or somehow should be jealous of the "banter" in her and Michael's relationship, except that this misses two key points. One, that it's one thing for Michael to be self-deprecating about his looks--and that even if he is, it doesn't mean he doesn't feel hurt and is therefore possibly making those comments as a deflection--but it's something else entirely for her to make them. It speaks volumes about her character that she would see/hear him saying these things about himself and instead of wondering if he is okay, decides that it gives her the go-ahead to add to it and snark about his appearance. So many of us have felt self-conscious about our looks at one time or another, but without any response from him, it comes across less like "mutual banter" and more like "one person progressively making passive-aggressive cutting comments over time about the other." Which brings us to the second key point, which is that "in-jokes" are only funny to the people who are in on them, and similarly, banter is only mutual if we are able to see his end of it. The problem is, we never do. Michael does not interact with her on social media (even from his "private account," which many of us have known about for years, as he used to use it to interact with Kate, Sarah, and Lily all the time, yet he doesn't use it to interact with AL, for some reason).

Curiously, this would have been a perfect moment for Michael to do exactly that, or to say something on Twitter in her defense. Of course it is entirely possible that he felt he didn't need to say anything--which is his prerogative, just as it was AL's prerogative to respond. But it's quite interesting to realize that at the same exact time AL wrote that comment, Michael was on Twitter talking about touching David's chest and referring to him as the Thin Dark Duke, and then kept tweeting about GO fandom stuff for the next three hours. Choices.

All this to say that, in my opinion, there was nothing genuine or graceful about AL's comment. And again, you could say well sure, she felt attacked, so there was no obligation to stand on ceremony or mince words. It's just interesting that her comment went in the direction of defensive and sarcastic instead of saying something like, "Michael and I love each other and can handle a bit of teasing." And I truly do hope Michael's fans who rushed to her defense take a step back and realize that she is not a nice person. This is not how a nice person, regardless of who they are dating, talks to other human beings. And she will never reply to them or thank them for doing so because to her, they are a means to an end.

In any case, there was a recap of the callout/clapback situation with AL, for anyone who missed it. To your comments @nightingalecottage, please do not apologize for ranting. As I've said before, I want my blog to be somewhere folks can have these discussions calmly and civilly, and I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to message me with your thoughts. I know I never made a callout post but If anyone sees a user that is named David marshall or known as bubba marshall or SpongeBob on YouTube (edited update he also had 4 account, my apologies for forgot to mention one since my memory are a bit fuzzy) but here on below down.

please block him on YouTube. He is known to force animators & artists to draw his goofy requests along with asking them to make a 'WiNdY DaY' thingy along with other songs. And also harassing the artists & animators if they don't make him the contents he wants. And he is also a p//r0s.h!pp3r shipping weird crossover ship around minors (underage that is not 18 years old) and make them obey him and promote it. (I unfortunately lost the screenshot but he did, I will censor the minor username out of respect). He also has 4 alt. And he yeet refused to apologize for his actions and didn't show any sympathy or empathy for it, not even apologetic. But I don't recommend everyone to interact with him or support him

this is PATCHES. she looks exactly like when bugs bunny dresses up like marilyn monroe with the dramatic eyeliner and beauty mark. she stands on her hind feet and walks like vince mcmahon. i won't lie; it's intimidating.

this is CARMEN. you know, like the woman who ditched the protagonist of The Band's "The Wait" and left him to hang out with the devil. my partner says her face looks like a butt and i'm not going to say he's wrong, but it's a really really cute butt. crazy thing is that she's full-grown at 3lbs.

HAZEL is your standard black and white dutch rabbit. her markings make her appear to be wearing pants and a black luchador mask. you might be wondering what's up with all the orange stuff on her face. well, i left a bowl of spaghettios unattended for just a little too long.

DAVID JOHANSEN JR ("Davie") is just an all-around weird organism, much like the guy I named her after. she has glowing red eyes and a tail that doesn't look like a standard cotton-puff bunny tail so much as an overlong prehensile butt-tentacle.

OLIVE doesn't care what you're eating, but she wants it. she has a white dot on her nose and i think she has a crush on my therapist because she likes to do wacky shit in the background during my zoom appointments. earlier today she farted and it made my bedroom smell like scallions for like four whole minutes.

this is BLUTESSA and she is 24lbs of womanly menace. she's named after the canonical sister of Bluto from Popeye. she really likes a game called "Froot Loop," which is pretty much fetch but with froot loops and she doesn't bring them back. i've already made a callout post about how she doesn't wipe her ass very well. none of the others have this issue, so this is definitely a Her-problem.

LUCKY (temporary name) has a sad-as-fuck origin story. the guy at the pet store told me she was "unsellable" because she has a deformed leg. he made a point of showing me how affectionate and cuddly she was before casually telling me nobody would want her and he was gonna feed her to a snake. you know what likes deformed snuggly rabbits even more than a hungry python? ME. i do. she's actually doing great and has a real thing for honey mustard.
