Hmm… in no particular order, I will say my favorite JJ friendships are:

Emily (I know I ship them romantically too but canonically, I really adore their friendship as well!)

Penelope (the gossip sisters!!)

Derek (the jock bros that canonically go on morning runs together and he helped JJ with hand to hand combat)

Hotch (the way they bond over their kids is really cute)

Tara and Matt (I wish we’d seen more of the three of them working together bc they’re pretty badass and clever)

Luke (another jock bro friendship and as of CME, the impulsive duo of the BAU lol)

Cruz (I wish we’d seen more of JJ and Cruz after 200 aside from that one ep where they joked about their scars from the incident)

Rossi (JJ bonds with Rossi in a similar way that Emily does, and even jokes about his failed marriages the same way Emily does haha)

David Rossi - Rossi appeared in the first episode of season one "The Harmful One". In the opening scene of the episode, Rossi is at the FBI firing range with Jack Garrett. He later reappeared in the season two episode "Il Mostro", in which he aided the IRT while they were on a case in Florence, Italy.

Penelope Garcia - Garcia appeared in the third episode of season one "Denial". In the opening scene of the episode, Garcia is looking for her octopus coffee mug that Russ Montgomery took. She later returned in the season two premiere "Lost Souls", in which she helped Monty track down victims' families while the IRT were investigating a mass abduction in Tanzania.

Emily Prentiss - Prentiss appeared in the season two episode "Type A", in which she aided the IRT track down an unsub active in New York City and Taiwan.

Mateo "Matt" Cruz - Cruz appeared in the season two episode "La Huesuda", in which he called Jack regarding information about his son, Ryan.

📚 Cal Luna (Diego Boneta FC) - he/his/him, 35, Head Librarian Came in to town 2 years ago trying to find his twin sister. Almost immediately got told she had been killed and that he was trapped. Works as head librarian where he spends most of his time trying to find new media to keep people entertained. 🌊 DJ Cruz-Dutton (Boyd Holbrook FC) - he/his/him, 38, Ranger (South Station) Has been in town for over 6 years, along with his wife and their twin girls. He tends to keep to himself, mostly focused on providing for his family. He does have a temper which can make him reckless when he loses control over it. 🩺 Knightley (Zac Efron FC) - he/his/him, 35, Commune Doctor He just arrived about 3 months ago after a fallout with his uncle. He's now opening a small clinic to commune members with Sunflower's support. Mostly focuses on work and getting to know his fellow Commune members. 🚒 Phoenix Romero-Sawyer (David Giuntoli FC) - he/his/him, 39, Fire Captain Was born and raised in Huntsville along with the rest of the Romero siblings. Came back about a year after the Paradox happened to move back home after his husband passed away. Joined the fire station/rescue, took over as Captain after the previous one passed away about five years ago. 🔨 Xander Garcia (Tyler Alvarez FC) - he/his/him, 28, Commune Handyman Born and raised in Huntsville along with his two younger siblings, had plans to go to engineering school when the Paradox hit. His family was the first full family to move in the Commune and he's been there ever since. Completely agrees with Sunflower's way of doing things and likes to be productive.

16. who were some of your role models as a younger person / kid, the ones who showed you the way you’d eventually want to be yourself?

these are off the top of my head for the most part, but i mostly remember looking up to authors: a lot of YA writers when I was in high school (yes, including that YA author whose name is now inseparable from one of The Most tumblr posts of all time lmaoo); in college, i can remember wanting to write like gabriel garcia-marquez or conrado de quiros or david foster wallace, and then later on chingbee cruz and anne carson. especially chingbee cruz—used to fangirl with friends about her, and sometimes even until now. (and as anyone who reads my posts/tags on tumblr would know, i still also fangirl about anne carson hehe.)

other than authors, i also remember i used to really look up to daniel day lewis—and i hadn’t even watched any of his movies back then, i’d just read his wikipedia article 💀. it was just his dedication to his craft, was something i admired greatly. i never wanted to be an actor or anything, i just liked that dedication.

CONCLUYE CON ÉXITO EL CAMPEONATO INTERNACIONAL DE AJEDREZ "PERLA DE LA FRONTERA"

Ciudad Juárez, Chih., lunes 4 de noviembre de 2024.-Con la participación de más de 300 jugadores de todas las edades, concluyó con éxito la segunda edición del Torneo Internacional de Ajedrez “Perla de la Frontera” en Ciudad Juárez.

Durante cuatro días los jugadores del deporte ciencia, se reunieron en el auditorio del hotel Fiesta Inn donde poco a poco, fueron saliendo los ganadores en las categorías sub 8 hasta sub 18 y libre.

15 master del ajedrez procedentes de España, Polonia, Venezuela, Estados Unidos, Colombia, Cuba, y México estuvieron mostrando su destreza en el tablero para asombro de niños y niñas que gustan del ajedrez.

Con la representación del Presidente Municipal Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, el director del Instituto Municipal del Deporte y Cultura Física de Juárez Juan Escalante, aseguró que en esta ciudad hay demasiado deporte y en esta ocasión un importante torneo de corte internacional.

“El presidente Municipal le apuesta al deporte y esta es una prueba contundente en la disciplina de ajedrez, estamos contentos de albergar a grandes maestros de nivel mundial aquí en Ciudad Juárez y grandes promesas del Estado de Chihuahua en todas sus categorías “concluyó. 

Por su parte el Organizador Nacional David Encinas Varela, aseguró que el torneo Perla de la Frontera es avalado por la Federación Mundial de Ajedrez y en esta ocasión rompió record de asistencia.

“Estamos muy agradecidos con el Presidente Municipal Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, por toda la disposición  que otorgó a través del Instituto del Deporte, porque estuvieron muy al pendiente de todo este evento a todos muchas gracias” Finalizó.

Al finalizar el torneo se entregó una bolsa superior a los 75 mil pesos de premiación en efectivo y en especie , además se rifó un tablero con las firmas de todas las máximas estrellas del ajedrez mundial recaudadas en el pasado torneo celebrado en Budapest  así como además se entregó reloj y mochilas de ajedrez .

La regidora de la Comisión del Deporte  Karla Escalante, felicitó a todos los padres de familia por apoyar a sus hijos durante todo el torneo.

“No podríamos dejar de agradecer a todos ustedes padres de familia, por estar siempre con ellos porque dejan sus actividades laborales y otras cosas, para inculcar el amor a este deporte”concluyó.

  �� Chief Strauss walked into Aaron Hotchner's office with a self assured walk, she knocked, not waiting for a response before barging in and shutting the door behind her.

"Chief Strauss." Hotchner commented curiously, he subconsciously straightened his posture.

She walked closer to him "I'm adding a new member to your team-" "I-" Hotch cut her off "No Aaron, listen you and your team are unpredictable and irresponsible, one of your agents drove an ambulance with a bomb into a field, you need someone who thinks things through." Strauss handed him the file she was hiding behind her back.

"Isabelle Cruz?" Hotch asked as he scanned the file, "Yes, she's fluent in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and French, she has a PhD in psychology and BA's in sociology and criminal justice, her former employer at the NYPD says she solves cases effectively and is a hard worker."

"Strauss, if you're trying to send in another agent to spy on us it won't work."

She scoffed, "Please, how stupid do you think I am? I don't even know the girl." Strauss explained before leaving his office.

Hotch stared at his office wall, trying to figure out how to handle the situation.

He quickly dialed Jj's office phone number and she picked up after a ring, "Send everyone in the round table room, you and Garcia aswell." "Yes sir, What is this abou-" He slammed the phone onto the receiver.

Hotch was frustrated to say the least, he had spent the last month stuck at home attempting to heal his ear injury. 

The team filed into the room and sat down, waiting for Hotch, when he got in the room he looked around, "Where's Reid?" "He hasn't come in yet." Jj responded.

"I'll have to start without him." He sighed, the team looked around at each other, confused and worried.

"Strauss put someone else on the team, she claims she doesn't know the girl and she's not here to spy on us." Emily shifted uncomfortably, still feeling bad about what happened.

"Do you believe her?" Morgan asked, "I don't know, I don't have confirmation they know each other."

"Nothing." Garcia said, "There's no overlap between them, but this girl is one smart cookie!"

Derek quickly leaned over to see Penelope's laptop screen and raised his eyebrows, "And she's easy on the eyes." He commented, causing Penelope to playfully hit his shoulder.

When he saw Aaron staring at him he returned to his normal sitting position.

"Garcia, keep digging, we have to make sure they don't know each other." Rossi added.

"On it sir, if they so much as considered buying the same lamp at a bed, bath, and bodywork's I will find out." She exclaimed causing the team to give her questioning looks.

"Is that her?" Jj pointed out the window to a brunette haired woman strutting into the bullpen.

Isabelle's black and red Valentino heels clicked against the marble floor, she oozed with confidence, she was clad with a black pencil skirt and matching blazer.

Her eyes scanned the office before spotting an office name plate reading 'SSA Hotchner'

Hotch quickly exited the room, catching Isabelle just before she knocked on his door.

"Agent Cruz." He held his hand out, normally Isabelle wouldn't shake his hand but since he was her new boss she felt obligated.

"How about I introduce you to the team?" He offered and she nodded, Isabelle trailed behind him to the round table room.

"Everyone introduce yourself." Hotch commanded.

"Jennifer Jareau, but you can call me Jj." A woman with blonde hair smiled and offered her hand, "Sorry, I have a germ thing." Isabelle gave her a tight lipped smile.

"Hmm, I know someone like that."

A woman to Jj's right gave her a small smile, "Emily prentiss."

"David Rossi." The man commented from the chair he was sitting at, he looked her up and down suspiciously, which didn't go unnoticed to Isabelle.

"Derek Morgan." The man next to him smiled cockily.

"Hi! Penelope Garcia, technical analyst." Another woman smiled and gave her a big wave.

Isabelle subconsciously narrowed her eyes at the group, she felt a tension in the air, she heard running footsteps from behind her and turned around.

"Sorry I'm late! I forgot to set my alar-" Spencer stopped mid sentence, it was like time froze, everything in the room becoming obsolete to the pair.

"Isa?" Spencer rubbed his eyes, to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

He examined her, she dyed her hair darker and instead of taking hours out of her day to straighten it she left her naturally waves, even though she looked different Spencer could easily pick her from a crowd.

"Spence." She replied.

Isabelle sucked in a breath, She observed his hair, which had grown out and was fluffier, he noticeably had less freckles and wasn't wearing glasses anymore.

"Isabelle." This time he said it with anger in his voice, his lips formed a slight frown.

"You two know each other?" Morgan pointed between the two.

"Yeah, Um in college we- we were friends" Spencer stated quickly before he exited the room.

Isabelle watched him through the window rush around the corner out of her sight.

Spencer stared at himself in the bathroom mirror "Pull it together." He whispered as he wiped his tears away.

Morgan opened the bathroom door slightly, "Spencer, you good?" He asked then looked up to see him, he quickly entered.

"You guys weren't just friends, huh?" Morgan looked at Spencer in the mirror, "No, we dated for two years, four months, and thirteen days." Morgan chuckled slightly, "You remember it down to the day?" "No, I remember it down to the second." Spencer corrected him.
