david byrne is hard to draw precisely for the reason that if you rattled off a list of his physical characteristics as specific as you could make it it would still look like a lot of people but then if someone drew that the vibe would be entirely wrong and it would not look like david byrne. you have to get the vibe precisely right otherwise he looks normal and that's deplorable. one thing is you can't draw the eyebrows too low. otherwise he looks 1) sleazy + 2) not excited about anything! draw him excited about stuff! this is all advice for myself anyway. do you know howe hard i worked on that lamp expression. what if the lamp had a face and it reacted to being danced with. wouldn't that be fun to draw. i think i still haven't drawn david peeling a grapefruit like he told lorde like i just reblogged. "i think." i know i havent. eyes are another thing. he's got very nice eyes and i have to draw them cartoon so your brainfillsintheblanks otherwise i can't get it so far. almost--i think a suit is also hard to draw unless you are thinking about it very hard before you begin. my favorites of the above are the big side profile, the hugging the lamp, the blue librarian looking one w the glasses, the big suit, the my building! IT'S OVER THERE IT'S OVER THERE! i ought to draw some lyrics from the book i read because it's such a happy picture i'm spinning around and i feel wonderful! wow!
