Galekh had decided to broaden his horizons for the day. See something new, try something a little different than his usual cafe/bookstore/library norm. After all, he was all about new experiences, so of course he'd be drawn to somewhere new and interesting. Well... at least, newer for him.

The record store was dusty, warm, a good place to explore and let his mind wander for a while. He didn't have much pressing other than the gift, Noel tucked under his arm as a parcel of great magical importance. Something he wanted to keep, hold onto, despite his indecision in regards to its contents.

Though... he didn't know a lot about records. Especially the human ones.

Looking towards someone nearby who seemed way more in his element, he gave a cheery smile, adjusting his glasses with one hand still in the record bin to mark his place.

"You seem like you know more about human music and the like than I do.1"

"Have any recommendations?"

She wore a gold name tag on her vest, clearly important from the looks of it, and a smile to match. ‘Elizabeth’, it read. “ Where’d you learn to mix like that?”

“ what the hell happened here. ” there were few things david for sure could count as great constants of the universe: rosalind trying to analyze his brain, diet coke being a huge corporate scam and broderick’s unhealthy obsession with puppets. and if the latter wasn’t already weird on its own, the complete lack of presence of the oldest strider’s plushy mementos was even more unsettling. and then there was the headache. did he chug something yesterday? can’t really tell, but whatever that was he better not touch it ever again, it was amplifying the unholy heebie-jeebies. “ kid, ‘did you set bro’s things on fire or sold them to the deep web sickos? not that i was going to scold you about that, but... place feels weirdly empty and the idiot’s not around, which might be even creepier. ”

One of the things Kate really loved about growing up in Spirale was that one could find whatever they needed -- even the most outdated and counter culture places managed to keep their doors open for years on end. Granted, video stores were significantly rarer than when she was a little girl, but this one seemed to stand tall, in spite of the digital revolution.

It didn’t hurt that it was open 24 hours, either -- meaning she had just popped in after a long shift at the diner, still smelling vaguely of grease and in her uniform, wearing an old wool coat. But that made it even odder to see someone who couldn’t have been older than 14 wandering around.

“Now, ain’t it past your curfew? It ain’t exactly safe to be wanderin’ around this late, you know.”

   Time? Midday.

   Place? ...Burger King. Or, rather, the scattered remains and barely-together scraps of what must have once been said King’s Palace. It seems that several people are there to clean up after the disasters and even get the grill going, sweet scent of disgusting human food wafting around him and clouding his vision. Haise cannot eat any of it, and though perhaps there could have been a day where he was once able, it now only smells like ash and rotten things.

   But he hides it well, and takes a seat next to a youth at the only seating arrangement for customers: a bar near the front.

   “It’s amazing they’ve been able to do something like this,” he tells that blond youth, looking over and giving a smile. “I’ve been walking for a while and this is the first open shop for miles.”

      you have items in each hand -- one joint and a handful of flowers. one is obviously for calm the other is a large question mark even for you. both may or may not have been stolen but no one but you really needed to know that. you don’t like being reminded of old memories and a lot of this weird festival seems to be about that. not to mention you’re dead. and your friends suck.

       so you act out and attempt to keep your already fragile mind from snapping again. up until you see a human you finally recognise. you never talked to him much but familiar faces that weren’t terrible to your knowledge were a good thing and you approach with a smile.
