BABIES in this AU

After the creation of Universe C, the quantity of children and grubs was too high for the few adults to contain it. Therefore no kid/grub is raised by parents, but rather by the community, with ""orphanages"" built to contain the kids/grubs and carapacians taking care of them.

To take care of them there are also John and Roxy — who do that constantly — Jade and Dave — who have a farm, and contribute with the food — and Rose and Kanaya — who find adults to adopt the kids (as something exceptional; having parents isn't the norm here). The others help more sporadically.

Every couple has their own adopted child:

Rose & Kanaya: Jaiden Maryam-Lalonde

Dave & Jade: Bell, Bark, Doll Strider-Harley [they help with the farm].

John & Roxy: Since they work 24/7 with ALL the kids, they don't really have one, but they're really affectionate to Lars (and Casey OBVIOUSLY).

Jane: As a single mother, she decided to raise Naya and Ashvik Crocker

Karkat doesn't want kids to raise due his culture — he has no idea how to and doesn't want to — but he still helps when he can, mostly on education.

Jake and Dirk keep having a date&breakup situationship, that drives Jake crazy and so they can barely keep up with kids in general — so of course no adoption.

LARS: He's chill and friendly, but this makes him very vulnerable to bullying and mockery. Still, critics rarely reach him as he SEEMS very confident. His interests are mostly fashion and make up. SYLPH OF VOID; Derse.

JAIDEN MARYAM-LALONDE: She's shy and tends to be very servile. She loves writing but no one knows about what. MAID OF LIGHT; Derse. QUIRK: shE makeS capslocK everY lasT letteR oF A worD.

BELL STRIDER-HARLEY: She's the funny kid! Random, cool, the free and childish spirit of the room. She loves flowers and cringey stuff. WITCH OF BREATH; Prospit.

BARK STRIDER-HARLEY: Bullied quiet kid who's actually a sociopath. Bark enjoys mostly making dumb comics (quite guresome ones) and weapons. PRINCE OF SPACE; Dual Dreamer.

ASHVIK CROCKER: Competitive and determinate boy. He loves anything that he can do better than the others, but mostly he found out how much he loves fishing. THIEF OF RAGE; Prospit. QUIRK: his OOs are always dOOuble.

If you care about the babies: Doll is Heir of Life, Naya is Mage of Time.

Jay’s full name is Jayce, but you won’t find it anywhere other than in official documents or his parents’ mouths, when they’re really, really mad. Which is rare, he isn’t a troublemaker! ...Alright, maybe a little... But nothing bad, promise! Come on! Have some faith in him! While it might not look like it thanks to his rather playful and laid-back demeanor, he's actually really kind and genuinely loves helping people out, which does land him in difficult spots at times. He has a bit too much confidence in being able to recognize when people are taking advantage of him to actually notice when people are taking advantage of him.

Dawn is, in every sense of the world, bright. Smart, positive, energetic and maaaybe a little bit too loud at times, she often finds herself in the center of attention, both good and bad alike. While she’s doing her best to stay true to herself at any given situation, it’s not easy when you’re being heavily judged by everybody around you for taking too much of the limelight. But she’s never asked for any of this! None of this is her fault! ...Right? Right? Please, please say it’s not her fault, maybe she should learn to stay in the background if it’s really such a big deal, but-

Rhea is a tricky one. Literally. In contrast to her older sister, she has long since mastered the secret art of staying out of sight, and she’s been abusing it for her own amusement for years. Whether she is a part of something or not, you can be certain that she knows everything about it. If there’s one secret she hasn’t managed to actually keep (at least from her family), it’s the very fact that she knows. But both her methods and extent of her knowledge remain unexplored. She might be willing to trade some information, though! For a price, of course~

ST or Solivagant Talionic is Different from the rest of her siblings. The rest of her family, really. She knows it. It’s the source of many of her struggles. Not energetic, not outgoing, not fun at all, she can’t help feeling somewhat detached, and finds herself unsure of her place among them all. That being said, her own loyalty and dedication should never be questioned, especially given the fact that she doesn’t forgive easily if ever, and she’s more than willing to make things even.

figured i should finally post my davekat and davejade fankids, Astrid Strider-Vantas (she/her) and Laika Strider-Harley (they/them) :o] some notes:

they are in fact siblings and raised together, i ❤️ polyamory. Astrid is older by 3 years, this is meant to be them at 18 and 15 respectively.

Laika's actually the taller sibling!

Astrid is a butch lesbian, Laika is aroace.

Astrid was made through ectobiology, Laika through good old fashioned t4t mpreg.

Laika is a time player solely because i thought them being entirely space themed and having a major interest in astronomy only for time to be their aspect would be kinda funny. i think they're quite mad about it </3

they're in a band together with some other friends i have yet to design. Astrid does guitar and vocals, Laika does drums.

Astrid's glasses are transition lenses (they turn into shades in the sun).

If you could rewrite homestuck (I mean act 1-7 nothing past that) What would you change?

For the most part Acft 1 up to Cascade has been fine. Everything after that will have major changes. Like have Beta Kids from the ship and meteor actually speak with each other and visit each other during the travel. They have all the means for communication and I think it's bullshit they never talked to each other. Rose's alcoholism will be solved without Vriska involved. Terezi gets help from the people around her to stay away from Gamzee. And trying to free Gamzee from Lord English's servitude. Have the dead trolls be alive again. Be it on the meteor or in the Alpha session. Not as sprites. Just themselves. No teen drama with the Alpha Kids either. Have the dead trolls interact with the Alpha Kids as they help through their session and issues. NO DANCESTORS. Three of them have larger roles and the rest of the cast is completely useless. There is no need to pad the story out. Let Feferi fill that role for Meenah to take charge and give her development she needs. As well as having the trolls confront and face about their ancestor's past and what they will be for the future. No Union Jack either. Make it known that Calliope's toxic positivity harms the cast too, showing that she is just as awful as Caliborn. The cast would have to beat both Cherubs. Final battles would be The trolls vs The Condesce Beta Kids vs Jack Noir Alpha Kids vs Lord English Bonus is that Spades Slick is on the Alpha Kids side or fights on his own too against Lord English. To finally wrap up what he had came for from the Intermission. He would then get to be with Ms. Paint as a couple. They beat the villains, get Earth C, endgame ships would be things like JohnVris, Rosemary, DaveJade, Karezi, DirkJake, EriRoxy, Equius x Jane, and Solradia. They each have fankids (through natural means or ectobiology, so NO DOG PENIS), and they live happily ever after. And that's just if I keep the trolls in this. Because I think it would be better if Homestuck itself is just focused on the Beta kids fighting against Jack Noir and then Lord English, no trolls involved. If you had to have them, have them only the important ones like Vriska, Kanaya, Terezi, and Karkat help the Beta Kids before they get killed off. Have the troll session, Hivebent, as a separate story that can be explored later. The Acts would be up to 5-6 since that means Dancestors and Alpha Kid session won't be in this. It would be just be about John, Dave, Rose, and Jade. The main four we had been following like it was. This is how I would rewrite Homestuck.
