Lol since I’m a granny too, I googled the barking and apparently it’s been a thing at BTS concerts for a little while. It seems like the origins are disputed!
AHA KPOP TOO!! I'm picturing us all as the golden girls with magnifying glasses puzzling out this case like OH THESE WACKY KIDS
EDIT assistant to the grannies on the case @onesweetworld18 reports: "I have never heard this at other shows before, regardless of genre, but like I’m also not seeing artists “the youths” love. I just left a Dave Matthews Band concert and can report no barking lol."
EDIT TWO @crinkle-eyed-boo says: "I was at Ed Sheeran last week and no barking there and from what I’ve seen of Eras Tour on TikTok there’s no barking there either"

“Granny”
Hello, how are you doing today
I hope I find you feeling healthy
I'm so glad our paths crossed this time today
On our way into the night
I say its love, its hiding deep, deep down inside us all
So maybe we should let it bubble up from deep inside
Love is not so tough if you come and get it too well
Baby your heart into a thousand pieces dashed
Stop only the old and wise with clouded eyes
You can't see what I can cause I
Blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next pretty girl to come my way
Well here we are all of us stand around
We're leaning heavy on each other
Always wondering what is it lies behind
The worried eyes of one another
I believe its Love is hiding there in the shadows in the darkness
Maybe we’ll shed a little light and it will shine
Oh love when I approach my tears that fall like rain cause you know
Maybe my hearts into a thousand pieces dashed
Stop only the old and wise with clouded eyes
You can't see what I can cause I
Blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next good thing to come my way
Well I say it’s love so share it out, share it fare but share it never
Maybe these things are better off when were full of love
Love when I approach the tears that fall like rain you tell me
Baby your hearts into a thousand pieces dashed
Stop only the old and wise with clouded eyes
You can't see what I can cause I
Blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next good thing to come my way

1: 6 of the songs you listen to most?
Hmm, I would say, recently, Pistol Grip Pump//Rage Against The Machine, Don't Get Old//J. Roddy Watson & The Business, Granny//Dave Matthews Band, Exotic City//Prince, Slow and Easy//Whitesnake, One//Metallica
2: If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?
Oh fuck I think I would really like to meet either the biys if Greta Van Fleet or Duff Mckagan. Part of me is scared they'd think I'm uncool or annoying or whatever, but if there was a setting where we could just chill and hangout, go camping, sometbing like that not a meet and greet... that would be so cool!!!
3: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, give me line 17.
"To his credit, Reynie recognized the names of a few places, a few mathematics principles, and one or two important historical figures, but it wouldn't do him any good." - The Mysterious Benedict Society
😂 I love children's books, or like middle school level. I honestly think they're the best and most creative, and I'm remembering how much I loved this book! I'm gonna reread it now 😁

DMB - Live Trax.
Like a lot of people, Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial summer kickoff for me. Summer means a lot of things. Like, it will be hot out. You’ll find yourself at a BBQ at least once. You’ll probably drink a cold beverage. And Dave Matthews Band is on tour.
I know DMB is often mocked nowadays (seriously, click on this link – hilarious). But that doesn’t change the fact that they are one of the truly great live bands. And there’s no better time to see them than in the summer. There’s something comforting about having a few Sam Summers in the parking lot in advance of a DMB summer show. It’s even more comforting knowing that they tour every year. And they always change up their shows and their sound. No two shows are ever exactly the same. If you haven’t seen one of their shows before, do yourself a favor and catch one this summer. Chances are that if you live in America, they are coming to a town near you. You don’t believe me? Just click right here and see for yourself.
In the meantime, you might want to spend some time getting yourself familiar with their live shows. You might be wondering ‘wait, how can I get myself familiar with DMB’s live shows before I even go to a show?’ Well, the answer is that they have officially released a ton of their live shows. Some of them are essential summer albums, including the historic The Central Park Concert, Listener Supported, The Gorge and their very first live album Live at Red Rocks 8.15.95. All of these live albums deserve a listen!
DMB also has a series of live show releases which are released under the title Live Trax. For a long time, you could only get these from the band’s official website. A couple of years ago they put the first 20 releases in the Live Trax series, plus Live Trax 2008 (an album previously only available to those who purchased a ticket to a summer 2008 show), on streaming sites. We are all lucky because of this.
Because each show is at least 2 hours long and is unique, I don’t think you will have enough time to listen to each show before you go see them live in concert (which I am assuming you will do this year!). As a result, I decided to put together a playlist of summer songs from the Live Trax series to give you a little taste of what a DMB show is like. I usually structure my playlists to flow like a show would and should, and focused extra hard this time on doing that. I think you will find that to be the case if you listen to this playlist. Which you should. It’s a great summer playlist.
Because I only included summer songs in this playlist, there were a few amazing songs that had to be left off, including what I think to be THE definitive version of “Crash Into Me” from Live Trax Vol. 7 (you are really doing yourself, and your ears, a disservice if you don’t listen to this), as well as “#40” from Live Trax Vol. 12 (to me, early May is not summer, so I had to leave this song off). I’d also recommend that you listen to both “Two Step” and “Crash Into Me” from Live Trax Vol. 18 back-to-back. The band did an incredible segue where they did the typical drum outro to “Two Step” and then went right into “Crash Into Me”. It sounds so cool to listen to. I wish I had been at that show!
So what am I proving with this nearly 3 hour long playlist? Many things. DMB is one of the best live bands ever. They are perfect for summer. The playlist is perfect for driving with the windows down on a sunny afternoon (preferably through tree-lined Pennsylvania back-roads. Seriously. Try it. So perfect!) We are lucky that “The Idea Of You”, one of their best songs of the past 15 years, FINALLY received a proper studio release over 10 years after it was first played live. I think we can all hope that we will be lucky that “JTR”, a song first played nearly 20 years, finally gets the proper studio release that it so obviously deserves. The Live Trax series is worth exploring. Unfortunately only the first 20 releases in the series are available to stream, but there are a ton of great releases not available to stream that I would recommend purchasing.
As you listen to this playlist, I hope you think of answers to some of the questions I have for you. Better yet, I hope you tell me the answers. Like, how perfect is that “One Sweet World” opener? How awesome is “The Idea Of You”? How crazy does Carter go on “Tripping Billies”? How awesome of a drummer is Carter? Haven’t you been paying attention to how great he is? Do you enjoy the fade-out outro to “Crash Into Me”? (the band hasn’t done that in over 20 years).
This was a tough playlist for me to complete, because there were so many great choices. If you saw all of my notes for this one, you would know what I mean. There was a lot of rewrites and edits while I completed it. All of that hard work so that both you and I can enjoy this playlist throughout our summer! I truly hope that you enjoy this one and find that it is as appropriate for summer as I made it out to be. Open your windows, feel the warmth, crack open a Sam Summer if you aren’t driving (my personal DMB pre-show drink of choice) and enjoy the great summer sound of Dave Matthews Band. Hopefully I will see you at a DMB show this summer!

When Just a Thing Turned Into Jimi Thing(pt. 1)
The year was 2002 and I just started my junior year of high school, stoned, walked into Geometry class and saw but one person I knew, Caroline, who I had known from elementary school. We discussed our past school years together and years missed in between until now. Right away, Caroline and I became instant friends, with many things in common. The love of people but the understanding of people who aren’t all there together. Friendship that will last forever. Though the one thing that her and I enjoyed the most was music. There were numerous bands that we both listened to and then there were some that either of us had heard of from each other, with the exception of a hit song or two by that particular band. One band specifically Care, what some called her, suggested was Dave Matthews Band. She was the biggest DMB I knew at the time. She suggested a few songs to check out, Jimi Thing, was one song she made it a point to make sure I listened to. Remember that this was back in 2002, so I couldn’t just pull out a phone or whatnot and start jamming out. Nope. I had to wait the entire day because she told me this in 2nd period class. The school day was finally over and it was time to take the bus home, go up to my room, open Limewire, Bearshare, and whatever other song stealing programs. Within each program, I would have several searches of “DMB”, “Dave Matthews Band”, “DMB live”, etc., to get more of a variety in my Winamp player for the new DMB playlist. Granted, internet was not the same then as it is today, so I had some time to spare until the majority of the songs were downloaded enough to preview it while downloading. To pass the hours, I got stoned, and went and played pickup basketball for a while. Meanwhile, I had no idea what I was getting myself into back on my computer. Not only adding viruses and spyware to my pc, I essentially would be preparing to introduce myself to a world unlike any other. After it is all said and done, I am home, showered, relaxed, stoned and ready to open my ears to beauty. Of course, I had to listen to Jimi Thing first, I can’t remember exactly which version it was but it was a live version and I was in love. I kept listening for the 9+ minutes and wanted more like a kid in a candy store. I just kept going from song to song, Crash, Christmas Song, Crush, Warehouse, Granny, Bartender, Don’t Drink the Water, Halloween, the bands cover of All Along the Watchtower. The list is endless and so was my Winamp playlist. I lost many hours of sleep listening to songs and familiarizing myself with their music library which consisted of songs that many were unreleased at the time. Days past and my music library was expanding daily with different songs, different versions of songs and trying to find any video that was available as well to get the visualization of what I was hearing. Meanwhile, Dave[Matthews] was doing a solo album collaborating with musicians from other bands such as Trey Anastasio from Phish, Brady Blade, Tim Reynolds; calling themselves Dave Matthews and Friends, which meant there has to be a tour. And there it was, the opportunity to see Dave live even though it wasn’t DMB, I would still be getting a bit of a feel of what I’d see in a DMB, which is what my mindset was at the time not knowing it wasn’t the same by any means I would come to find out later. Dave and Friends came and went with a show filled with a cover by my first love in music, The Beatles’ “Hey Bulldog”, Solsbury Hill, along with the majority of the Some Devil solo album. 2004 came around and DMB were doing their annual summer tour, which a frequent stop is Burgettstown @ Star Lake. I tagged along with my cousin, his wife at the time and his step brother. This show I don’t recall much of for some reason. Between those first two shows and now, I, along with many others, have been able to watch these guys perform. In their good days and bad, I’m not sure which one was which but I got a hell of a show 12 times. @davematthews

All The Different Times I Saw DMB Live
As I mentioned earlier in the week, throughout the 2000s when I came of age (and most certainly before that, as my older brother did), summer in Western New York was Dave time. You’d pick up a 30-pack or have someone of age handle it for you, then grab a cooler and a half-dozen bags of chips and trek out to the muddy lawns of Darien Lake. Or head east to Saratoga (”SPAC”) if you felt ambitious. You could camp and party and feel communal for days; the music seemed secondary to a lot of folks out there.
But not me. I checked setlists religiously and tried to get my hands on recorded shows. And in the span of just five years, I saw seven different shows across the state. Here’s what I remember from the bulk of my teen years going to DMB concerts.
July 13, 2004: Darien Lake, N.Y.
The first time ever! I don’t remember much except the palpable electricity between me and my two pals, them opening with Don’t Drink the Water, the previously mentioned ketchup stain on my cargo shorts, screaming out the “woos!” during “Warehouse,” and not knowing a good third of the setlist because I was such a noob.
July 27, 2005: Darien Lake, N.Y.
A group of older partying girls offered me and my friend some smokes during the show. At one point, I asked him the name of a particular song (it was “Granny”). They closed with “Two Step,” which felt right.
youtube
Dave Matthews Band, “Granny” (Under the Table and Dreaming sessions, 1994)
December 7, 2005: Rochester, N.Y.
You could see Dave’s red pants screaming from the stage, especially as he treated us to “Christmas Song.” That same friend from the summer show asked me the name of a particular song (it, too, was “Granny”).
June 17, 2006: Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
My saintly father drove me and five of my shithead friends three and a half hours east to SPAC so we could watch DMB interpolate “Louie Louie” during “Warehouse” and feel some semblance of independence at age 16. Thanks, Dad.
June 27, 2008: Darien Lake, N.Y.
Honestly, I don’t remember much! I had just graduated high school and, well, let’s say I celebrated a bit too much. But I recall an interesting “Money (That’s What I Want)” cover and hearing “Louisiana Bayou” and “Cornbread” in the same show and being like, okay, I guess this is what DMB is now. Also the last time I’d see LeRoi Moore perform.
youtube
Dave Matthews Band, “Burning Down the House” (Live Trax 15, 2008)
June 12, 2009 / June 13, 2009: Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Certainly the most fascinating DMB shows of my life, on the first full tour without LeRoi, with a regular appearance by a Talking Heads cover and The Hold Steady as an opening band both nights. When I heard “Shake Me Like a Monkey” live and thinking that maybe this would be my last Dave venture for a bit. This was balanced out by celebratory appearances from both “The Dreaming Tree” and “The Maker,” both exceptional songs.
The question is: When will I next catch a DMB live show? After all these years, know that I’m working on it.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tell me about your favorite food, movies, tv, songs, bands 😁♥️
Awww yes I totally will!!
Food: ahh I love Food! Especially savory and sweet stuff together. And I love to cook, too! Not to brag or anything, but I make AMAZING meatballs 😂 like that's my signature. Also, peanut butter caramel pecan cookies, brown sugar pork chops, applesauce cake, hamburger pie, and according to my brother my quesadillas are the best thing in the world (I just add cream cheese though that's it, but he goes crazy lol)
Movies: Hmm, let's see my favorites are Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, Legend, Willow, The Never-ending Story, The Princess Bride, Beetlegeuse, and Hocus Pocus! Basically 80s/90s fantasy and comedy lol
TV: I don't watch much TV, but I watched Merlin (from BBC) a couple years ago woth my mama and it was AMAZING. It was seriosuly so good, I recommend it so hard
Songs: So many! Here's a list of my favs and why I like them:
Patience//Guns n Roses - it's so beautiful, my favorite song of all time! Heartfelt, delicate, fun, emotional, musically genius, all of It! Plus I can finally whistle the intro lol
Orion//Metallica - I love to headbang and air guitar (or air bass) to this, no matter how stupid I look. It's such a good song if you want something to feel I'm your bones!
Time Gone By//Izzy Stradlin - its so beautiful, and it brings back memories of the father daughter dance at my Dad's wedding 💗
You're The One (Live acoustic)//Greta Van Fleet - do I gotta explain?? It was so delicate and softer than usual, but effortlessly amazing, on all of their parts. I sing along everytime
Trampled Underfoot//Led Zeppelin - Sexy, heavy, groovy, catchy, all of it
Granny//Dave Matthews Band - it's just so nice to listen to I love it
Bands: Guns n Roses is my all time fav! I also love Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Greta Van Fleet, Dave Matthews Band, Audioslave, Vitamin String Quartet, The B-52s, Skid Row, Cake, Muse, Queen, Steve Miller Band, Primus, Temple of the Dog....
#music#personal ish#mimi🌼#asks#asks answeres#damn and now i have to go cause i have hella work to do :(
