I finally started listening to Hi Nay tonight! I've been meaning to get into it for ages, knowing that I'd love it but you know how sometimes your brain just won't let you. But I'm glad I got around to it!

To be honest I've always kind of felt a weird parasocial kinship with Motzie since we're both animators by profession who produce audio drama. Hi Motzie. I hope you're having a good day.

Mari Datuin is one of the characters of all time. she’s friends with her ex. she’s pansexual. she’s a babaylan. her best friends are two homicide detectives and one very tall lesbian. she doesn’t swear and I respect that, but rarely have I met a character who deserves to say fuck more than she does. she calls her mom every week. she’s fully aware that she’s in a horror story, but that will not stop her from picking up the Cursed Amulet. all her friends are taller than her. she’s even fat.

(im ripping this from the wiki btw) John has prematurely greying hair and looks older than he is. He often looks very tired and is physically unfit, as other characters refer to him as scrawny and he tires easily from physical tasks that others perform with little exertion. he also has lots of scars.

(propaganda, spoilers for The Magnus Archives) He's a wet cat and at one point dated Georgie Barker and does date Martin Blackwood. there is also a whole tag/movement for "hot Jon rights". he may not be like, 10/10 on the attractive scale but his far off gaze has captivated me

Short, curvy, adorable

Mari is Filipino, which means despite her warm exterior, she's got the deep, unrelenting trauma of a Pinay who left the Philippines during the Duterte era.

She loves milk tea and casually knows how to exorcise ghosts, she gets to sing in a musical episode, she's still close with her ex-girlfriend while pining over a clueless detective, there's at least two incredibly beautiful women she's ready to fist fight at a moment's notice, and there's something deeply wrong with her that isn't immediately apparent.

Also she loves her Nanay (mom) very much and calls her all the time.

If you believe she isn't 5 feet of incandescent rage in a cute and friendly package, then I absolutely recommend checking out Hi Nay to see where she goes 💖

(I think it's very important to note that Mari is 5 feet tall and all her friends are in the 6 foot range and that will never not be funny to me as a Filipina)

donnermari are so fascinating to me forever. what do you mean she had a one sided crush on him and he was her dear friend and he was perpetually worried over her. what do you mean that crush developed into love and she distanced herself from him because of it. what do you mean the weight of the world is on her shoulders and he wants her to let him carry some of it and she refuses because she loves him more than she trusts him and she can’t let anyone else carry it. what do you mean he’s keeping secrets from her because he wants her to trust him and she knows about the secrets and isn’t confronting him because she wants to find the whole truth before she asks him for even a piece of it. WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S SO IN LOVE WITH HIM THAT SHE OVERCORRECTS WHEN PRIORITIZING AND LETS HIM GET HURT. I’M LOSING MY MARBLES!!!!!!!

Logo Design for Visual Communication

Design Process:

After watching "The Art Of Design | Paula Scher : Graphic Design" I designed a logo inspired by the aesthetics of the 80s. The big and bold colors are what made up the 80s and for my design I imagined a beauty and fashion company entitled "PUFF" that reported on the latest fashion and beauty trends from the past that were returning today. The logo is also inspired by the iconic Rubiks cube that broke our in the 80s and used this in creating the letters for the name of the company.

Cultural Cache Online Season 3: “Three Women with Baskets” by Anita Magsaysay-Ho

To celebrate the 54th Anniversary of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, we present the September episode that features the painting of Anita Magsaysay-Ho titled “Three Women with Baskets” with Prof. Flaudette May Datuin. The artwork showcases Magsaysay-Ho’s thoughtfulness in composition and color, as well as her experimentation in Chinese ink. As the only woman included in the group of Thirteen Moderns, the pioneers of Philippine Modern Art, she is known for her women subjects who are harvesting fruits, gathering sheaves of grain, or selling fish in the market in their baro’t saya and bandanna. She always emphasized movement and bustling interaction by means of bold, vigorous brushstrokes, and strong tonal contrasts of light and dark.
