Nissan Violet 1600 SSS-E·L, 1976. The 710 series Violet slotted into a new market niche for Nissan, between the smaller Sunny and the larger Bluebird. The 2-door hardtop SSS came with independent rear suspension and fuel injection, and was marketed through Nissan's Cherry Store network in Japan. Internationally it was marketed as the Datsun 140/160J and in the US as the Datsun 710

Dancing in the Rain

I find great joy forecasted through the rain. Leading up to a big storm, the land kind of shivers.

There is Joy found through storms. Even leading up to a tornado, there is peace and calm for a moment. The land will shiver before you and cast the most exquisite rumbles upon this Earth. If you catch the light just right, you can even witness bolts of energy flowing from the skylines. The way the raindrops hit a tin roof can heal even the most broken hearted, the most tortured soul, with its meditative components.

My husband and I choose to dance in the rain together every chance we get, probably until the last breath we take. It’s in those moments where real life occurs. Not the fake persona most have to carry throughout their day. Forget that “just to be nice” smile you gave to the cashier checking you out at the grocery store or the hundreds of others you have encountered throughout your travels just trying to get home so that you can just be your real self for a minute. If you get the chance to dance in the rain together, I would highly recommend it, it gets a five star rating from us!!

Datsun 280ZXR, 1979. One of 1001 280ZX homologation specials is to be offered at auction. What makes this car extra special is that it has travelled only 15miles since it was new 44 years ago. It was delivered new to St. Yves Motor Sales in Berkley, Massachusetts where it become part of their collection. The ZXR models came with a rear spoiler to homologate the special rear wing on its race cars. It will be offered at Mecum Auction's Kissimmee sale in January

These cars were a thing in the 1990’s Bay Area amongst the Filipino American communities. I don’t know the history on how they became a Pinoy car but I assume they were abundant in the Philippines and they brought it here into the USA. It wasn’t only 1970 it was all early models of the Nissan model cars of that time. They were called Mangga cars which is Filipino word for Mango because the were yellow like the fruit.
